Fantastic experience: A must go! It is very overwhelming to decide amongst all the amazing possible activities in Tasmania. I came for 2 days with no plan; maybe you're like me... I love dramatic views and hiking. Sara was amazing putting me on the right track even though it was noon on Saturday before I got my crap together. I hiked a breathtaking journey to Cape Raoul 10/10. Must do if you have the time and energy. It is moderately difficult in my opinion. I came back Sunday and she again helped me with great suggestions. This time I am choosing Bruny Island just car touring and eating journey aling the way. Again, I did a lot of research myself and still couldn't decide. I implore you to come to the Visitor Information and Bookings center to ensure you get what you are after based on your particular desires and constraints. Thanks!!

Fantastic experience: Went to enquire about things to do and must visit places in Hobart for our very first trip, and Ms Ella provided wonderful assistance to us, walking us through multiple options and helping us carve out our planning for day trips outside of Hobart CBD. Fantastic experience: Great advice and planning from both Sara and Sebastian. On Sara’s advice I took the tour of the Women’s Factory (British women convicts). Was the most impactful experience of my trip. Sebastian, although severely confused about American politics, helped me get to the airport on time and efficiently. Absolutely wonderful time in Hobart aided immensely by my visits to the Hobart Visitors Information Center. Jon traveling solo from USA.

Fantastic experience: Superior customer service, specifically Brad who was a wealth of knowledge and the mature lady ( sorry didn’t catch her name) who spotted our wheelchair bound dad and came over to hand us an accessibility map. Highly recommended to pop in if you need any assistance or information in regards to your trip.

Fantastic experience: Brad helped me plan my trip in Tasmania and he was awesome! I showed up with nothing planned and he talked through many options with me and helped me map out an itinerary. He sat down with me for over an hour and was very patient, and it was a great first experience in Tasmania. 12/10 service

Fantastic experience: From the moment we walked in we were greeted with warm friendly smiles from their amazing volunteers. Mike looked after us and made sure he knew how much time we had, if we had a vehicle, what our interests were and suggested some of the best activities and attractions accordingly. Fantastic experience: Brad the man! What an incredible experience. We flew in to beautiful Tassie with no plans but so much excitement for a great trip. Brad was amazing. He asked us what we wanted to see, eat and explore. He not only guided us he even helped us book. He was a wealth of knowledge and so happy to be alive. Positive experience: This is my third visit to Tasmania and the information centre has always been able to go above and beyond to help me find something to do and see. I went on a brilliant tour with Rick on Bruny Island yesterday and I am going on a tour to Richmond and Tassie Devils today and on Thursday on a wine and food tour. Service with a smile. Part of the reason that I keep coming back. Cheers!

Positive experience: Good selection of tourism information from all over tassie, with souvenirs.. parking close by was difficult. Hard when never been to Hobart before

We wish we had parking for visitors, but being located in the heart of the city at the waterfront also comes with its challenges like lack of a parking spot for our visitors. However, there's plenty of parking all around us including on the waterfront, and at least 3 parking lots within walking distance. We hope you enjoy your travels around our small island state. Negative experience: Disappointing service / we asked about a bus tour to MtWellington. We were told nothing until 2pm on March 24. We wandered a couple of blocks and saw the actual bus terminal and asked there who had several buses leaving before 2pm (same company we enquired about ) (edited with date)
Hi Cheryl Marriner, Thank you for review. It is disappointing that you have left a 1 star rating. Our booking system can only allow the team to see what is available and on this occasion, I understand the only time slot that we would have seen available would have been 2 pm. I would like to understand what date this was for, as the Pinnacle Road up was closed for majority of the weekend for the kunanyi Mountain Run. On a regular day, there are buses that start up the mountain as early as 0930am and there are others at 11am and 1230pm. We work very closeIy the kunanyi Explorer bus company, as it is very popular tour, and book in a number of tours on a daily basis. Sometimes if they have a no-show, there may be opportunities to jump on the bus but our Travel Advisors can only book tickets for a slot what they can see available in the system. Fantastic experience: When arriving at the information centre, I was under the impression that I would receive a map of tassie, be given some general information and then be off to decide my holiday for myself. Well, I was wrong! I was so impressed by the service I received from Helena. Absolutely incredible. So helpful, knowledgeable, patient and I was extremely grateful for her help in our conversations. If I could have paid her, I would. She took the time to show me everything with every question I asked. Was honest about her experiences in Tasmania which I appreciated. Negative experience: We were advised to use the Brook Street pier lockers on a Monday, after asking where we could store our luggage prior to our 7pm flight. When we returned for our luggage at 6pm, the whole pier facility was locked. It was only by chance we managed to sneak in as the last boat load of Mona visitors were exciting a side door. We were close to having no way to get our bags, or make our flight. Very poor advice.

Each facility has it's own timings and they vary. When visitors share their departure flight timing with us, we do recommend getting to Hobart airport 1.5 hours prior to any flight which means leaving the city 2 hours prior at which time the luggage storage should still have been open. Positive experience: Hobart has many interesting historic buildings, government, pubs, Constitution Dock where the annual Sudney to Hobart sailing boat race finishes. Saturdays the Salamanca street stalls have a wide range of goods to buy. Enjoy a coach trip to the top of the mountain range. Visit the Female Factory and other prisons, to gain an insight into the lives of prisoner's shipped out from UK. Visit the spectacular vertical rock columns erupting from the sea at Eaglehawke Neck. Positive experience: Knowledgeable tour of Hobart district obviously lots of walking but all very easily managed. The tour guide was careful to make sure we all kept together and crossed safely along the roads as needed. Tour went for an hour and a half. It was really informative and we did enjoy it. Only downside was at the end of the tour, he left us in a different spot than where we started from, nothing that Google Maps couldn’t fix for us

Fantastic experience: Having stepped off a cruise ship with no idea what to do we headed to the Information Centre in Hobart and were greeted by warm smiles and very helpful staff. One of which suggested a campervan trip around Tasmania. He organised everything for us including mapping out our itinerary. My children and I have had an amazing adventure all thanks to the wonderful staff at the Information Centre in Hobart.

Fantastic experience: We were in a rush, as we were parked at a meter, which was about to expire, a few blocks away. The man who served us was very efficient but cheerful, knowing exactly what to give us and marked a couple of maps in a way which proved useful.

Fantastic experience: Travelling over 50+ countries and going to many many many tourist information centres this is by far the best one I have ever visited. The staff communicated effectively with each other giving opinions showing videos and even helped book our tour or Bruny Island! Fantastic experience: Amazing customer service. The person helping us gave us tons of ideas of what to do on our stay in tassy, and helped us out a lot on what we need to visit national parks and markets. All up a 10/10 on customer service. Would recommend paying a visit on your stay as the staff were very helpful.
