Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. Appalling service. Went in to organise our holiday to Mexico and USA. Staff were friendly but when it came to receiving the itinerary, I almost fainted at the price of airfares. It worked out to just over $11000 for airfares alone for 5 weeks away. Did some of our own homework and found better and more direct airfares for half that price and with less stopovers! When we called up to have a chat about it, we were told that the agent had rushed the itinerary because she wanted to get it out to you before she went on leave! That's disgusting! In other words, they may as well say we did what was easier for us and not the client! What's worse is that they asked for $200 per person up front to do the itinerary and now refuse to refund it! I believe a refund is justifiable as the work done by the agent was rushed and not what's best for the client. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ORGANISATION AT ALL COSTS!

Negative experience: My wife and I enjoyed your great service a few years ago on our round the world trip and we’re ready to do the same again with you. We are so excited to be heading to Canada, Turkey and India plus maybe more locations for 3 months. We walked into the Glenelg office yesterday and were greeted with one of the sourest faced receptionists we’ve ever encountered. ( I’m a retired successful business man , 68 years old) The older lady (initial of first name “J “ ) did not want to be there, did not want to be nice in any way and sadly we have gone elsewhere. So sorry for you Phil. Front of house reception is incredibly important, that’s why I’m advising you of our experience. Regards Glenn

Negative experience: Walked in with my daughter to book our family holiday for September. Said hello to a receptionist and was told (rudely) no one can help me and I need to make an appointment for next week.. obviously judging me by qppearance( came straight from work) I was left feeling quite upset and to judge someone infront of their daughter.. After walking out we just walked down the road to a different travel agent and booked our 25k holiday elsewhere!

Negative experience: My husband and I came into the Glenelg store, this morning, to ask a question about Covermore Travel Insurance. The receptionist (an older woman, like us), was a bad tempered nightmare. We have travelled via Phil Hoffman Travel, with Covermore Insurance, prior to the pandemic and have, always commented on how happy we were with everything! If Phil Hoffman are trying to restore their bottom-line, after the pandemic, it won’t happen with a front-line staff member like this. We went down the street, to Flight Centre, and were spoken to like human beings. We are quite happy to make an appointment; we weren’t asking for anything special.

Positive experience: Have been dealing here for years; unfortunately my consultant left at onset of covid. My travels also came to halt.
Positive experience: I got an email sent toe about Phantom of the Opera in Sydney. Was interested but it's outdoors and I don't trust Sydney weather
Negative experience: Phoned this company this morning they are not interested in helping people only interested in getting bookings. I wanted to find out if a certain Qantas flight internationally was still scheduled to leave from Sydney in May and the woman told me to ring Qantas, I said I had already tried there is a 2 hour wait she said that's just how it is and she wasn't interested in helping me and has other people to take bookings from. Very poor customer service Don't waist your time with this company phoned Flight Centre and they gave me much more information and were very pleasant on the phone.
Fantastic experience: I have been using this company for a long time now. If I have ever been unhappy with anything it has allways got sorted out. After covid hit and we couldn't go on our big trip I found my consultant Melissa to be very helfull as a lot of things were out of their control as well and it was a new experience for everyone. Unfortunately Melissa left to pursue a different path. She recommend Stuart to take over from her. Stuart has been so professional and I couldn't be happier with his services.

Fantastic experience: Saw Jessica re a travel bank credit I had with virgin I had lost my old phone which hadusername etc in Jessica tried for over an hour to get virgin on the line making no money from this at all they finally picked up and told her to get the client to call them re bloody security questions.I told jess if she has the time call them and get them to bloody call me direct I have 443.00 in travel bank which right now can't access can't rate Phillips Hoffman travel and there staff highly enough evey can learn what true customer service is through them thank you Jessica and Phillips Hoffman hopefully I can fly with virgin soon.but I have no time for virgins customer service

Negative experience: Well Mr Hoffman, I wanted to publicly relay the debacle of my experience with your company. Trip of a lifetime booked and paid for ($15,000 odd) by October 2019..airfares paid 29/11/19, out of Victor Harbor agency) Travel to be September 2020 Then Covid....from there on, office was closed, staff worked from home, 1-2 days a week and communication was minimal. Only by luck one day when I found the agency open, did a chat produce some facts that money had been paid on to Holidays on Location and it was a 'hands in the air, we don't have your money' approach...not our fault etc etc. When challenged about the fact that PHT makes representation on their behalf and as such has a responsibility to work diligently to get our refund...I was and still am met with tepid emails (3 changes of staff thus far) saying absolutely 0 facts...just waffle and platitudes, introducing themselves and stating their work schedule. I would expect you to have some clout with your 'premium supplier''. I await communication...and some effort...we have been devastated by this not to mention the financial strain it has placed us in.
Negative experience: Will never use Phil Hoffmann Travel again. If you need to cancel your holiday due to Covid be prepared lose quite of bit of money in cancellations fees. Phil Hoffmann took advantage of their cancellation fee policy to the EXCESS!!!!!! Was not left with much of a refund. Their service was extremely unprofessional. Never again.

Negative experience: Well I've never walked into a travel agent and been talked out of a holiday before but that's what happened. I wanted to book a holiday to Tasmania despite the travel restrictions not opening until end of October. The first girl was friendly but the blond girl in the corner of the counter took over and basically said 'come back then', didn't want me to book and gave me every reason not to. Never going back there again. Glenelg Travel booked us no problem

Negative experience: Horrendous experience. the fine print in their contracts really are in fine print. Don't believe the "go with our insurance and you'll get back 75% minimum. well that is the maximum after all the fees and insurances plus excesses are taken into account making it closer to 50%. They also take 10% of you fees to hold you to ransom so that you have to book your next rip with the same group. I will not be returning to use their services as good companies don't hold customers to ransom they earn return business through good relations.

Positive experience: This is an excellent business for travel. The service is far above the normal suburban travel agency. Everything is done very professionally. They have a specialist in all areas of popular travel.
Negative experience: We booked a hosted cruise from Sydney to Hong Kong which included 3 days in Hong Kong with an included half day tour. Had a great cruise from Sydney to Hong Kong on majestic princess which was hosted by Brian. Unfortunately the excitmen of the trip ended when we got to Hong Kong .We were transferred to the Hotel all 26 of us at around 9 am and told that our rooms would not be available until 2 pm. Ok it's the way things are done around here. Then when we finally get the key to the room we discover it's a smoking room and reeks of stale smoke, apparently the agent didn't request a non smoking room for us. But the best part was having to lug our own bags up a 8 percent grade from around the corner of the Hotel. Could have been organised a hell of a lot better. A shame that the fantastic cruise side of the trip had to end this way. A hosted trip should be hosted till the end. Will be thinking twice before paying for another hosted trip.
Negative experience: I was warned but thought surely couldnt be as bad as suggested. No - worse! Appalling experience unfortunately. After 2 weeks followed up receiving apology and promise to sort out. After 4 weeks sent stonger note to sort out what was going on & received excuses including “I went away”!! Now more than 6 weeks and have given up. Never again....

Negative experience: Unfortunately, my Japanese business partner got pretty annoyed when you treated him like a 'dumb tourist' when explaining why he should had accepted a plastic bag. Quote: "You should take this plastic bag, you can put things in it and carry your stuff" (In the most demeaning way possible) Afterwards, my partner and I agreed that this behaviour was unacceptable and rather stupid. Sorry to say but, I am pretty certain that me and him are doing much better than your blonde staff worker at the front desk. Thanks
Negative experience: Just entered to this place to book a ticket. Receptionist attitude was not welcoming at all. Not even greeted me. No smile..didnt even asked me how can I help you?.. just asked me "Yes" and gave me a look what do you want? I told her that I am here to make a flight reservation. She told me let me see if anyone is available.. I felt like I have come here to ask them for a free ticket. Well.. I told her don't mind and went away. She told me Ok. Coming from travel industry this is the worst customer service I have ever come across.
