Dorset Day Trips

Fantastic experience: Loved our tour so much with Darren while on a cruise. He was right at bottom of boat ramp -soooo convenient.Tried to book another one this year but we’re too late. Don’t hesitate book now. Comfortable, great guide, great tour spots including some hidden gems.

Fantastic experience: This was an incredible excursion from beginning to end. I was solo but 3 couples from my cruise ship were also there. Daren, owner and tour guide extraordinaire, picked us up at the pier right on time. Snowy, his VW van, is newer with a new engine, and very comfortable. We visited Durdle Door, lovely Lulworth Cove and drove all over the gorgeous Dorset countryside. We traveled through several small picturesque towns (the van can fit in streets that large buses aren't able to), saw an amazing preserved Roman ruin, many thatched cottages, etc. Only wish I could remember all the names! Daren's narration all along was wonderful, with lots of great information about everything we were seeing. We had lots of stops for photo opps, bathroom breaks, shopping, and he even called ahead for a reservation so that we could all have lunch together in a restaurant with really good food and service. We were touring just over 7 hours and finished up being driven back to the pier. I've been on quite a few excursions over the years, but this is most definitely my favorite. Sure beats a shorter bus trip with 50 or so other folks. Take this tour - I guarantee you, you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I used Dorset day trips during Easter weekend to visit 3 places - Corfe castle, Old Harry's rock and Durlston country park. Daren took us around all places whilst explaining history of the places and providing very interesting information that we would have not known otherwise. He went out of his way and walked with us all the way to Old Harry's rock and to the Durlston castle. He didn't could have just told us where to go but it was very nice of him to walk with us and explain so many facts about the attractions. I definitely felt he went above and beyond what I had expected. Lastly, he took us to some small villages and churches and it was a very pleasant surprise. We wouldn't have known about these places even if we had googled the place a 100 times. Daren answered any questions we had from history of the place to about buying new cars :). He is very knowledgeable and keeps you engaged the whole time. I highly recommend Dorset day tours for a couple or a bigger family. The trip was comfortable and enjoyable. Tip: We took the 5 hour day tour. If we had to do it again, we would probably choose the 7 hour day tour as it would allow some additional time for lunch and more time to spend in the beautiful locations.

Fantastic experience: We took a Jurassic Coast full day tour with Daren, owner and tour guide with Dorset Day Trips in September out of Bournemouth in . This was the best one of all the day tours we experienced in 3 weeks around the U.K. He was willing to vary his routes and stops according to your interests and has a friendly and flexible attitude. The VW van is comfortable and the time at each stop well thought out. He is full of local knowledge on the history, geography, local interests, and whatever else you may be curious about. We learned so much and came home with a lot of learning about Dorset's south coast. He also does shore excursions from Portland and we are confident you won't find a better day out. Definitely money well spent!

Fantastic experience: Daren picked us up at Portland pier from NCL cruise. Really nice guy. Interesting commentary. Great stops. Saw Roman mosaics, Jurassic coast, and more. Would definitely recommend. The locals love him!
