Charleston Harbor Tours: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Wonderful! You should do this. Enjoy
Fantastic experience: My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing afternoon aboard the Carolina Belle. The weather was a bit brisk, with a nippy wind - even though we could have been toasty warm indoors on the lower level, we choose to sit on the upper deck. The captain gave informative narration and we just enjoyed the fresh air and sights.
Positive experience: Thanks to Captain Ron and his team for ensuring those onboard were, safe, warm and informed.
Fantastic experience: Amazing boat tour experience. Nice and friendly staff. Would defi recommend it. Dolphin watching was fun for kids.
Negative experience: I booked a sunset harbor tour for my pregnant wife's birthday. I had a special evening planned out starting with a boat ride on the Carolina Belle. We arrived at the dock on time, but no staff were present. I called the office and was informed that the cruise had been cancelled due to high winds, and that I should have received a notification. I didn't, and clearly the other passengers who showed up hadn't either. This was incredibly disappointing and ruined our evening. We paid our money and put effort into showing up when we were supposed to. I would expect a company like this to ensure customers are contacted when an event is cancelled. Totally unacceptable to not find out until you have showed up at the start time. I am giving two stars instead of one because a real person answered right away when I called, and the refund was processed promptly. They did offer to reschedule for the next day, but I was going out of town so it was not possible. I also waited to write this review for about a week to give the company a chance to reach out and apologize for this mistake, but hearing nothing, I feel it's fair game to share my experience for anyone who might be thinking of trusting a special day to this company. My advice - if you do book, call the same day to confirm that you'll be getting what you paid and hoped for.
Fantastic experience: First time sailing on a boat...it was a lot of fun. I thought sailing out at 5:15pm was going to be cold, but it was actually really warm until the last 15 minutes when the temperature started dropping. We didn't sit on the net close to the water but in front of the windows. We shared the boat with other people. There were a total of 13. We asked a lot of questions about how the water and land layout came about...it was very interesting. They know the area very well and were able to answer other questions that I had.
Fantastic experience: Nice and easy thing to do and a fall day in Charleston. Captain and crew were funny. They told a few stories and pointed things out. Just the right amount of commentary. 70’s rock was appropriate but a little loud. Plastic chair seating in the front and the back. There’s a bar, you can walk around. 1.5 hours was long enough. You. Don’t see the big houses, battery area. We did see Billy Murray’s house and dolphins.
Negative experience: Went on this tour with my wife. We tried to enjoy the tour although the electrical systems on the boat seemed very poor. Lights flickering on and off. To top off the tour our captain decided to get political several times during the tour. He referred to one party as insurrectionist. I don't think it's professional to discuss your personal views while working on a tour. I won't be giving them anymore business and won't recommend their tours to anyone.
Negative experience: The guide was not entertaining, he pointed out parking lots as part of the tour. He also made his political views well known which was very off-putting when we're trying to enjoy a tour. I recommend picking another company.
Fantastic experience: The sun set beautifully on our cruise. We enjoyed the captain from Alaska--both his humor and his taste in music. We had to laugh as he played the Edmond Fitzgerald, a song that as Minnesotans we know well. We were worried the cruise would be canceled on hubby's birthday bc of upcoming hurricane. All was well! Thank you crew for the long day you put in!
Fantastic experience: The dolphin watching sailboat tour was great. The staff were really friendly and it made for a fun outing on the bay!
Negative experience: I drove 5 hours from Georgia to get there first. I arrived on time but they canceled my reservation citing mechanical problems with the boat. I walked around to find another one and 30 minutes later they boarded another group and sailed away. The decision is yours to make but choose carefully. I leave you with the advice that there are other good and cheap options around there.
Negative experience: It was a beautiful day for a harbor cruise. However, it was ruined when the captain had to share his political view several times while we were cruising. it is not the place or time for this kind of rhetoric, very disappointed. Our cruise was September 11 and the captain made reference that he used to be in Alaska. Maybe that’s a better venue for him.
Positive experience: Didn’t appreciate the political commentary by the captain. He should keep his opinions to himself. Ironically he supports Kamala claiming she will be the agent of change. Not realizing that she’s the CURRENT vice president!!!
Negative experience: Very disappointed in lack of history education and sharing. We listened to yacht rock radoo more than hearing history. We went on 9/11/2024, the captain felt the need to share his political views 4x during the trip, I don't want to hear his views, nor should he want to share. I would not recommend this tour.
Fantastic experience: Sunset/Dolphins cruise on the Schooner Pride was amazing!
Fantastic experience: We had 3 hours to kill before heading to the airport and it was the perfect thing to do. The captain and crew were very pleasant and made it alot of fun. Great history of the area.
Fantastic experience: We really enjoyed seeing Charleston from the water and learning more of the history of this great place. Highly recommend.
Negative experience: Too crowded- standing in sun is main option. Not very accommodating. Check out other options. Aquarium garage or street for best parking options.
Fantastic experience: Our Harbor Tour was so enjoyable! The captain narrated the tour and talked about the surrounding points of interest. We were very impressed, and it was well worth the money.
Fantastic experience: I was expecting a little more information about the Charleston harbor, but the captain wasn't the best tour guide. In his defense, there was a lot of boat traffic that he was keeping up with. Great views of the harbor and historic sites
Positive experience: We enjoyed it for the most part. Most of the crew was friendly and helpful. The music was much too loud at times. The tour guide needs to keep his political opinions to himself. And the company needs to post on their website their CCW policy.
Fantastic experience: Had a great time. Chris who we met at the ticket stand was very informative and super friendly and really started the trip on a high note. We had good laughs with him.
Fantastic experience: Great informative tour of the harbor and town. So much history to cover and it was done in such a fun and interesting formate!! We did the combo tour and enjoyed both the sunset cruise and carriage tour of Charleston!!
Positive experience: Cruise was good but as a handicap person with serious mobility problems, I have to say it’s a horrible walk to get to the boat . Horrible . Then you have to make this line with nowhere to sit before entering the boat. I wish people understood how hard everything is for us the disabled people
Positive experience: You do not get very close to the landmarks, so its pretty much a cruise on the water. The ac below doesn't work well. Not a huge fan of the captain, his commentary and the drab drag of hits bored voice. He also seemed to have a clear politica belief, that he shared with us in sarcastic comments. Seems he doesn't think much of America. Wish we chose something else for our 20th anniversary. But the crew was nice, he parks well, we didn't sink and the food is fairly priced.
Fantastic experience: Great tours and very informative!
Positive experience: Good experience, nice way to spend a couple to hours. Especially in the summer when it’s very hot. Informative and at times funny.
Fantastic experience: The tour was really nice. It was a good vibe, good energy, and a good value for the price. I would recommend the sunset cruise for families and individuals who need a good 90-minute outing. Added benefit, the staff is very accommodating to patrons who have mobility issues and need assistance boarding and exiting the boat.
Negative experience: Would not recommend this tour or company. Did not think the tour was as advertised. The staff were really pushy selling expensive drinks and then Asking for tips on top of it. Was really a turn off. It was supposed to be focused on nature elements, dolphins and wildlife instead of just sales. They seemed to only be interested in making more sales on top of the sale of the ticket. I called the main number for Customer Service and the person argued with and made me more upset. Also have to pay for parking as there is no lot for the tour other than a parking garage or paid parking on the street.
Fantastic experience: We absolutely loved sailing on the Schooner Pride! Captain Dan and his crew did an outstanding job! We would highly recommend this great sailing experience!!
Negative experience: Cruise was nice and the staff were very friendly. Drinks were overpriced but that was expected. They did run out of BBQ 30mins into the trip so don't count on the BBQ for dinner, as not everyone was guaranteed a plate. Disappointing!
Negative experience: They cancelled our tour 40 minutes before it was supposed to depart because of "plumbing issues" on the boat. We had just arrived at the dock when the call came in because they suggested to be there 30 minutes early to get good seats, so I some might say they cancelled 10 minutes before. There was nobody on the boat working to fix the issues, no staff there to tell the people they couldn't reach that it was cancelled, just an entirely empty dock. We only ran into about a dozen other passengers that were meant for our cruise, some of them never even received a call and I was the one to tell them it was cancelled, so I think it's safe to say they just didn't have enough to make the trip profitable so they called it off. They wanted me to rebook the next day but we were leaving, so they claim they'll refund my money but I have seen nothing as of yet. Planning our entire day around the cruise just to have it not happen at the very last minute isn't a great look for this company. I'll never book them again and given the chance I'll tell anybody that asks for suggestions the same. I'll go with the boat a few slips down. 0/10 stars.
Thank you for your feedback even though you weren't able to take our tour. We apologize that there were plumbing issues but the pump out system at the Maritime Center was broken and since it was the weekend, the parts and labor weren't available to fix the system that is operated by the City of Charleston, not us. We even attempted to find other solutions around the harbor with no success. It is not advisable to offer a 90 minute tour with no working restrooms as that would result in uncomfortable and unhappy customers, thus we made the difficult decision to cancel with well over 100 guests booked, which is definitely not something we want to do as a small business. We did our best to reach out to all customers as quickly as possible, but we apologize that you did not get the message until you arrived. There are no other companies "a few slips down" that offer a tour similar to ours.
Fantastic experience: Love the live commentary! Recommend doing the sunset one since it's not as hot, you get to see the views too.
Fantastic experience: Scenic views. Sunset was gorgeous for photos. Get there 30 minutes early at least if you want a seat and a photo by the crew
Fantastic experience: We did the Blues and BBQ sunset cruise on May 23rd. We had rescheduled from 2 weeks earlier with no problems. Staff was very nice on phone and on the boat. Weather was great and the band was good but we sat on upper deck and just listened to jazz over speakers. Bar was staffed with 3 people and non alcoholic drinks were at no charge. Food was good, pork, chicken, mac and cheese, beans, slaw and desert. Sunset was gorgeous over Charleston then we circled Cooper river and back to Port. Approx 2 hours total. Nice night out.
Negative experience: I was disappointed in this tour. It was scheduled for 90 minutes but it was less than an hour of actual boating. We left the dock late, cruised very slow and then it took 20 minutes to dock the boat. While on the water I didn't see anything I couldn't have seen while standing on the dock. You only get to see one side of the Fort. There could have been more narrative and I had hoped we would go around battery park and under the bridge. I think it would have been cool to see the container boats and shrimp boats. The staff was friendly, but the short, slow ride is not worth the money.
Fantastic experience: Excellent tour. We were on the Carolina Belle. Captain was great and shared much history along with personal tips of places to eat and visit. We ate at one of the places and it was fabulous -- the food and the views. Really enjoyed the harbor tour. Dolphins were around us from time to time. A shrimp boat was returning to port which was cool to see. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Was a great experience, very knowledgeable of the Harbor with some humor threw in with narration.
Negative experience: They oversold the boat so many people had to stand. The tour guide was hard to hear and didn’t provide much information. Drink line was extremely long and slow. Drinks were very under poured and costed a fortune.
Positive experience: Fantastic evening cruise tour (with Captain Andy, I believe). Getting to the right place for check-in and to claim vouchers wasn't the simplest because of vague signage. I will definitely go again next time I'm in town.
Fantastic experience: Really fun tour. The boat has plenty of room and we loved the options at the bar. Would highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Took the Sunset Sail aboard the Schooner Pride last evening for our 29th anniversary. What a fabulous time! The crew were amazing; the captain was very kind and accommodating when we were running late having gone to the wrong dock to board; and the weather and sea were just beautiful! We were fortunate to see a plethora of dolphins and sea fowl and even a couple appearances by the famous "jumping shark". My only regret was that I didn't take more pictures! Will definitely do this again! (Extra kudos to the gentleman in customer service who stayed a few minutes later at work to call and make sure we had made it aboard the boat. Very nice thing to do and emphasizes the great customer service! I wish I had gotten his name!)
Fantastic experience: Enjoyed the harbor cruise tour. Very informative cruise. The day was beautiful and breezy. Made it nice.
Fantastic experience: We purchase season passes! So worth the cost! When family visit it's always a go to for us. Everyone loves the cruise, so informative, great crew everytime we've gone! Highly recommend!!
Fantastic experience: My husband and I took a wonderful harbor cruise. The captain was fun and entertaining. We saw so many historic sights, and beautiful homes, on this tour. It was a beautiful, sunny day and we had a refreshing breeze. This is a must do tour if you’re visiting Charleston.
Fantastic experience: Went on the Harbor Tour with my family at 3:30pm. Very fun staff, clean well kept boat, great food and drinks. The sights of Fort Sumter and dolphins were amazing. Highly recommend this tour!
Fantastic experience: Is this the fanciest boat on the water? No. Is the service the best you'll ever get? No. Is it worth your time? Yes. Even though the check-in was confusing, even the boat is a bit tired, we had a fun tour, a very pleasant time and saw many fun sights you can't see from land.
Fantastic experience: Legitimately one of the most entertaining boat tours I've been on. Sailed on the Charleston Belle. Staff was absolutely amazing, and the commentary was really funny. Drinks and some snacks on board. Highly recommend timing around sunset, since you'll be avoiding most heat from the sun and can get some gorgeous views. Chance to see some dolphins as well!
Positive experience: It is a relaxing trip that is about an hour. The boat is nice and the people are nice. I just wish we got closer to things, but that maybe a safety thing. If it is a sunny day for sure bring some sunscreen and a hat. You will want to be outside and for sure will get hot. We got to see dolphins gliding with our boat which was just incredible. Overall a good tour.
Fantastic experience: Great trip to Sullivan’s Island, Fort Moultrie, Fort Sumter, and under the bridge and back. Restrooms and bar and snacks on board. Saw dolphins in front of a cargo ship. Great trip!
Fantastic experience: Captain Connor was great! A wealth of knowledge as well as fun and interactive! Keep those eyes open and looking all around to spot those dolphins!!!
Fantastic experience: It was an awesome sail on the Schooner Pride! The weather was perfect, we saw dolphins, my boys got to help raise the sails! Captain Dan did an amazing job navigating the waters while the others made sure we all had refreshments and answered questions! Highly recommend this cruise to see Charleston from the water!
Fantastic experience: This was such an amazing experience!! I highly recommend doing this during your visit!! The staff were all very friendly and nice. The refreshments were at a reasonable price. We paid $40.00 a ticket per person and the tour was an hour and thirty minutes. Definitely worth it!!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait to return and book it again.
Fantastic experience: We loved our Sunset Harbor Tour with Charleston Harbor Tours. It was one of the highlights of our trip! We had expected to just ride around the harbor while the sun set, which would've been great on its own. However, we were treated to so much more. The captain narrated almost the entire tour, sharing information and stories about the areas and buildings that we were passing by. It was so interesting and informative. I would happily take the tour again just to catch things that I undoubtedly missed the first time around. Try to get a seat on the top level on the right side of the boat to see as much as possible. I highly recommend Charleston Harbor Tours!
Positive experience: I did the Charleston Harbor Tour during the daytime. Perfect weather if it’s not too cool, bring a hoodie or jacket just in case. If you go during the summer, you’ll get a nice breeze while looking over the water. Also bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen. Admission was $40 for an adult. It’s about 90 mins. We didn’t see any dolphins on our tour but you do have the possibility of seeing some. On the tour, you’ll be able to see the historic waterfront, Fort Sumter, Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, etc. Tour was very informative.
Negative experience: We really wanted to like this but it was just not likable. The boat was old, shattered dirty windows, a sad Christmas tree was leaning over against one wall… looked like a Howard Johnson toastmasters room.. out-dated, icky. There was a bar up top but not in the main boat.. very inconvenient for cold 40’ days. The speaker system was barely audible. Staff never entered the main boat. And the boat didn’t get close to anything of interest (for photos) .. simply cruised the middle. The sunset was beautiful.. and free.
While our harbor tour vessel is historic and a 1920's era bay steamer replica, it is certainly not shattered or dirty. There is constant maintenance required on a busy tour vessel that is steel cruising on salt water, so perhaps you are referring to some rust spots. We did have a window damaged in a hurricane this year which is being repaired at our shipyard visit currently. It is not something, we can just remove and replace with a large metal frame in the water. The damaged window luckily is on the port side, and everything we pass for the narration is on the starboard side, so it hasn't been disruptive. The "main boat" you are referring to is actually our enclosed main salon on the lower deck, but the majority of our guests enjoy the open air, top deck, which is where the captain's wheel house is, the bar and crew area. Thus, they would not really go downstairs except briefly to the engine room for checks. While the sunset may be free from land, you can't beat the views from the water!
Positive experience: I have been on the CHS Harbor tour twice. Both times, the windows were so dirty that you could hardly see out. The first tour was on a sunny, hot day. As such, I was able to go up on deck. This second tour is on a rainy day and you cannot see much on one side and nothing on the other side. Advice for future tours, wait until the day of the tour to make sure the weather will allow you to be up in deck, as I doubt the windows will be clean such that you will be able to enjoy the tour in the A/C.
Thank you for feedback Jake. Our windows are cleaned daily, but with salt air and sea spray they may appear dirty if the sun hits them at the right angle. Rain certainly can impact visibility as well.
Positive experience: This was an informative tour of the harbor. There’s not a lot to see up close, but the live narration was interesting.
Fantastic experience: This is my second time booking with Charleston Harbor Tours - Carolina Belle. I always leave happy and relaxed. If you’re lucky, sit at the front of the boat to see the dolphins ☺️ I’ve done both the day time and sunset tours, both were great and saw dolphins both times. Hopefully you get to see them too!
Fantastic experience: The tour was fantastic, our tour guide was weening himself off of his notes (being new to the area, having just moved less than 6weeks prior) and he did a beautiful job. Very informative, smooth ride, and we had a beautiful day to be out on the water. The dolphins showed up and put on a great display along the journey.
Fantastic experience: We absolutely loved our Harbor Tour of Charleston Harbor. Our boat captain and crew were great and very helpful in giving information and history!!
Fantastic experience: 10/2 did the 3:30 with Captain Andrew and crew! He did an outstanding job informing us with great facts/ history about the area. Thoroughly enjoyed!! Learned allot as we cruised the Bay of Charleston. Highly recommend this family friendly adventure, very relaxing, beautiful sunshine and sites to see as you go along.
Fantastic experience: Great tour with beautiful scenery and engaging narrator. This was a fun, informative, relaxing tour, and it wasn't overcrowded.
Fantastic experience: Thoroughly enjoyed our Harbor Tour (6pm Sunset Cruise). Informative, friendly & well done. We even saw some dolphins! Well done.
Fantastic experience: A very nice tour of Charleston Harbor! The commentator did an excellent job! Very knowledgeable about Charleston History! I would definitely recommend this tour to all!
Fantastic experience: Definitely must do if you’re visiting from out of town! We did a sunset cruise for my birthday and it was so beautiful. Highly recommend it!
Fantastic experience: 90 mins trip. The trip takes you around the harbor, and the Captain narrates it and tells you what you are seeing. Snacks and drinks are available on board.
Positive experience: Wonderful view of the bridge and good information from the perspective of the water.
Positive experience: The captain narrated an interesting tour and the crew members were very friendly. The vessel was a bit ‘mature,’ and the freestanding plastic chairs would have been more appropriate at a backyard barbecue than on the deck of a passenger vessel. It was nice, but not particularly special.
Positive experience: My mom, a friend, and I went on the sunset tour. It was a great tour, had a lot to say about the town from the coast and drinks were offered on the tour. It was mainly the timing we booked the tour. It could have been better but it was extremely cloudy so couldn't experience the sunset and it sounded like the tour guide we had was new. So the narration sounded a bit like reading from a script but they still got a lot of information into the 90 minutes we were on the boat. Overall I would go again but maybe look at the weather next time.
Fantastic experience: Great tour. We saw dolphins swimming, and a beautiful sunset!
Positive experience: Giving it 4 stars because Gadsen Wharf in Charleston is where 38% of the slaves from Africa landed. The tour operator pointed out landmarks, including the aquarium, yet something this important and sacred, yards away from the aquarium, wasn't mentioned. Stop trying to Erase History!
Fantastic experience: My young family of four had a great time on the 90-minute harbor tour on a Saturday at 11:00am in July. The tour was busy, and there was limited seating outside. Although the tickets were expensive, there isn’t much else you can do to get on the water if you don’t know someone with a.boat. The bar on board was in full swing, but be aware, they charge ungodly prices. The three beers we ordered put us back about $31. Overall, a great choice for a tour of the water.
Fantastic experience: Great tour of the harbor. We learned so much, and had a wonderful sunset cruise experience.
Fantastic experience: Part of our combo tour with the carriage ride! It was certainly nice to have an air conditioned option on the lower deck during the summer! We also appreciated the snack bar for a cool drink. The captain was knowledgeable and the ride was smooth.
Negative experience: The bartender was awesome. The air conditioned boat was nice. The scenery was beautiful. However, I had a real problem with the narrative take. My family was enslaved. I was troubled by the attempted January 6th insurrection. A narrative take about “the confederates saving the city” or referring to Jefferson Davis as President and then just saying “Lincoln” in this day and age is unpatriotic. This is America. The owner has a right to his narrative. However every black and brown person should know that they are funding a guy who thinks the Confederacy and slavery was “cute”.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff and a super informational tour! The sunset cruise was a lovely pace and the captain made it even better with his commentary; he even pointed out various wildlife as he saw it! What a great way to spend an evening and get to know Charleston a bit.
Fantastic experience: Do the sunset tour! Highly recommend charleston Bell! Crew was informative and respectful. The sunset was awesome!
Fantastic experience: This was our first major thing in Charleston, and I'm glad we started here! The tour provided a great overview of the harbor and it's history. We saw great views of significant locations including Waterfront Park, the Battery, Fort Sumter, the USS Yorktown, and the Revenel Bridge. We did the Fort Sumter Tour a couple of days later. I didn't think about spending time going out into the harbor twice, so I thought maybe we could have skipped this tour. Very glad we did both! The Fort Sumter ferry ride does not include much narration, so highly recommend Charleston Harbor Tours!
Fantastic experience: This was really nice actually very relaxing. It's the boat trip around the Harbor . They pointed out different historical things as well as What sections of the Harbor were what they were used for etc? But it was very nice very pleasant.
Fantastic experience: Well worth the time and money to take this tour. Very informative and the crew was very knowledgeable and polite. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
Fantastic experience: I got sunburnt but I guess that is my fault. We saw dolphins so that was neat.
Fantastic experience: This is the second time we have joined Charleston Harbor Tours, and this is one of our favorite things to do in the city. Booking is easy, quick, and efficient online with great instructions. We were able to book day off with ease. I highly recommended doing the harbor tour. It’s a great leisurely activity to break up your busy day in the city. You get to see the harbor and all the great historical landmarks as well as some of the Forts. Not to mention we got to be on the Carolina Belle! It was a cool “sight to see” for all the OBX fans!
Fantastic experience: My husband and I had a wonderful time on this tour. Captain Andy was super funny and the rest of the crew was great. It was nice that there were short breaks between the tour narration so just enjoy the experience. And we saw some dolphins! I also appreciated there being restrooms at the Maritime Center. HIGHLY recommend.
Fantastic experience: We enjoyed the harbor tour! Relaxing with a bit of history and cocktails perfect for a first day to get a glimpse of Charleston from the water
Fantastic experience: Absolute wonderful time! This is a must do attraction if your in the area. Super friendly staff made the experience even better! If you want the best views in Charleston this is it!!
Fantastic experience: Great experience!!! The boat ride was amazing. I learned about so many interesting facts about Charleston while being entertained. You must experience this trip. And the drinks are not bad either!
Fantastic experience: Our family arrived early and we were able to get a seat on the front of the Carolina Belle near the bridge. I was able to meet and talk with Captain David. He was warm and welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about the Charleston area. There was a very good selection of food and drinks and the staff were all very polite. During our cruise we were able to see dolphins playing around the boat and even riding on the bow wake right below the front of the boat! We learned a lot of fun history from the Captain's narration during the tour. My 13 year old loved it and is already asking, "When are we going back to Charleston, and can we go on another boat ride with Captain David?"
Fantastic experience: Enjoyable 2 hour cruise around the habor, and by Fort Sumter. Beautiful views of city skyline. Parking is about a 5 minute walk north of the boat dock in a parking garage.
Fantastic experience: Great views of the harbor, Fort Sumter, and the skyline. The captain was engaging and gave us a good lesson on the history of the area. We had dolphins swimming alongside the boat.
Fantastic experience: We did a 11:30 AM harbor tour on the Carolina Belle yesterday. It was awesome, despite being cold and foggy. The captain did a great narration of the trip and we saw many dolphins. The crew were professional and welcoming.
Fantastic experience: We did a daytime harbor tour on the Carolina Belle. Captain David and the crew provided a wonderful tour experience. It was a nice way to see the surrounding area, learn a bit more about the local history, and enjoy a pleasant boat ride. Was also really cool to see dolphins and other wildlife.
Positive experience: Third time in Charleston, first time doing a harbor tour! I booked the combination Harbor Tour and Carriage Ride for my girlfriend and I, and we really enjoyed it. The tour itself was pretty good. We rode the Charleston Princess, which is pretty big in itself, but I really wish they had the lower deck opened up. I'm sure there is a reason for it, but with the amount of people that were on the boat, it would definitely benefit from having more room and being able to be closer to the water. We did get some great views of the entire harbor though, along with points like the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and Fort Sumter. Our narrator/tour guide was informative and had some humor which was nice. I felt the speakers could be a little louder or have more for the people out on the deck. There was a decent little beer selection, soda, and some snacks to choose from as well, and it was reasonably priced. There's also a small bar for those who might want a mixed drink. Overall, a pretty good experience that could benefit from a few touch ups. I would recommend it to anyone looking to get some Charleston history and a nice ride around the harbor!
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, excellent tour, very scenic, spirits provided.
Fantastic experience: This was a beautiful tour of the harbor! Super knowledgeable Captain with a very supporting crew. We really enjoyed our trip!
Fantastic experience: Highly recommend the 90 minute tour of Charleston harbor; very informative and enjoyable.
Fantastic experience: We had an awesome experience with this wonderful team. Our trip was very relaxing. My hat blew off into the ocean. This wonderful team assigned to the Spooner got it back for me!
Fantastic experience: …Often the most treasured, is locked away within knowledge! This was an extremely pleasant ride, that takes your mind off current things that attempt to take away your peace. Inexpensive, but packed with a ton of history, that can not be compared to cost of the experience! Loading was quick, and seating was spacious! Just make sure to take a tip, for the more than deserved tour guide!
