Gators and Ghosts: New Orleans Tours

Fantastic experience: We had a great time! Mike was very funny and entertaining. It’s December so only saw 2 gators, one was hiding under a tree stump with her babies and another was sunning herself and scattered when she saw us. They are not out much this time of year. But the boat ride was a blast!

Fantastic experience: We did the Haunted City and Cemetery Bus Tour. It was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend! We had the pleasure of being entertained by J and Bud (Carl) She was knowledgeable and funny. I am definitely coming back to do this with other friends and try other tours. We were lucky enough to visit the oldest Cemetery in New Orleans and use equipment to detect the presence of ghosts. This one is not to be missed!

Fantastic experience: Eve was an amazing guide! It was great to be able to walk through and learn the history and hear the stories!

Fantastic experience: Captain Eric found us a couple of gators despite the gray chilly weather when most of them were snuggled in the mud. He also found us hundreds of birds and one wild pig. Terrific morning.

Fantastic experience: Jenna was amazing! Funny, knowledgeable and friendly. We researched several ghost tours before we decided on Wicked. Do it! You won’t be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: The pick up from our hotel with Cam was great! Smooth, entertaining ride with lots of fun facts & NOLA reccomendations. Although it wasn’t alligator season, our tour guide still made the airboat tour enjoyable and fun! Bring your coats/jackets in Nov ‘cause it was freezing!

Fantastic experience: They hooked it up fr, our tour guide was a local with a lot of good stories. Landscape was beautiful and overall experience was fun. It gets very windy so bring some glasses & jacket

Negative experience: The experience was fun, I was upset with the hidden fees I thought I paid the fee requested on the website then we get there and they want an additional $80 saying that what I originally paid was a deposit!

Fantastic experience: Great show, wonderful venue, everyone was helpful and very knowledgeable. Excellent meal and I highly recommend to stay for the after show.

Fantastic experience: The service we received in the shop was awesome and everything was explained and we where reassured. The updates on the trip where encouraging and confirmed this is a very slick well operated. Venture. From the moment you are collected to being dropped off your are looked after and things are explained. The Ragin Cagin airboats are fantastic the pilot Scott was knowledgeable and accommodating as there is always one in a group that should be left behind.. The gators are the star of the show great trip. Shout out to Derek the driver as well.

Fantastic experience: Just took the haunted tour with Eve who had all sorts of good knowledge. She was super friendly and it was overall a great experience.

Negative experience: Honestly, really disappointed by this whole experience. We originally wanted to go on a gator tour on a riverboat and we were told we couldn’t do that because it wasn’t wheelchair accessible. Then we were told the paranormal tour was wheelchair accessible so we decided to do that one instead. The tour is not wheelchair accessible, the meeting place was literally not wheelchair accessible nor were the 2 locations we went to. The tour guides seemed completely surprised and unaware that we had someone in a wheelchair in our party so there was a clear lack of communication and preparation. It also rained heavily, which is unavoidable in NOLA, however there was no backup locations and we only visited one place and then the 2nd location was a complete bust where 12 people were told to squeeze inside a closet. Two people left and two of us sat out so the other 8 could sweat in a tiny closet. Everything felt completely unprepared for. You know it rains and your site says tours go on rain or shine, so why would you not have different locations to tour in case of inclement weather? Also only two spots get visited on a tour that costs $69 per person? That’s ridiculous and not worth the money. We expected at least 3 or 4 sites. Not only that but the stop at a bar to encourage people to drink and spend more money is corporate pandering and rude. Like at least include the cost of a drink in the ticket price if you expect people to drink. Just overall, a not so great time and really disappointing.

Fantastic experience: We did the swamp tour and had a great time! The bus driver for was super friendly and on time. We saw so many gators and had such a fun time on the boat. Captain Ernie was SUPER knowledgeable and we learned so much about the swamp, the alligators, and their history! Captain Ernie made this tour such an awesome experience! Thank you, Captain Ernie!

Our captain , Scott aboard the Tiger bait was excellent . Airboats are just cool anyway so seeing all the gators was awesome . I highly recommend this company . I did my research and it paid off !! Fantastic experience: We accidentally booked our pickup at the wrong hotel location. We are SO grateful they were able to accommodate us and pick us up at the different location THE MORNING of the tour. On top of that, our swamp tour was amazing! We saw so many gators and other wildlife.. and the vegetation is beautiful!

Fantastic experience: Should be named Gators Galore! We saw plenty of Gators, hosts were great. Pick up at hotel was very convenient! Airboat ride was fun. Bug spray not needed. Very enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: We took the small airboat swamp tour last week via Rajin Cajun and absolutely loved it! I think this was my favorite part of my New Orleans trip. Our guide (unfortunately I can't remember his name) was wonderful. He had lots of knowledge and it felt very authentic. Thank you for a great experience!

She was knowledgeable, personable, funny and gave us an inside look at the city’s darker history that we would not have gotten anywhere else. We can’t thank her enough for how respectful she was and how she turned what should’ve been a rainy night in into one we won’t forget!

Fantastic experience: Our group of 5 loved our tour on the small boat with LARRY. One of the highlights of our trip - lots of wildlife, gators, and speed. Suggest the earliest time in summer to have the best chance at seeing gators!

Fantastic experience: We went on the tour hoping to learn a little about the history of the French Quarter. Expert Guide Bobby was hilarious and provided a comprehensive trip through time, using humor to soften the impact of the darker part of New Orleans history. This tour is not for the faint of heat but really delivers on substance and humor. Five star tour!

Fantastic experience: took the adults only: ghosts and vampires night tour guided by kathryn and she is incredible. extremely knowledgeable about new orleans and its lore and i appreciate her dedication to the actual truth/history of this incredible city. highly recommend. also bonus: there were only 4 people in our group which made the adults only price difference well worth it. thank you, kathryn!

Fantastic experience: At the recommendation of a kind Lyft driver named Roy, we went to Gators and Ghosts and met Tracy. Tracy took the time to understand what we wanted to see most in the city and recommended a nighttime ghost tour. We enjoyed riding on an air conditioned bus, visiting unoccupied hospitals and beautiful cemeteries. The guide (Thor?) had an excellent personality, showing both respect for the dead and the guests in the tour. Thank you for the fabulous time; it was an adventure!

Fantastic experience: We absolutely loved our tour guide! I want to say his name is Jake, but I’m not quite sure on that. He said he had been doing it for 18 years, and he was operating airboat #3. He made the experience so much fun, and was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. He has clearly formed a bond with a few particular gators, and the interact so well with him. We had a blast!

Fantastic experience: They made my dad's dream come true tonight. They made it possible for my non-walking father to both board and exit the boat with dignity. Other unnamed tours simply said no he couldn't go. This place said they would try their hardest to get him on and off and they did exactly that. I would recommend them anyday from the young lady that helped me when I booked this to the "captain" of the airboat. Thank you all for helping my dad with his bucket list.

Fantastic experience: We loved our Airboat Swamp tour! We took the small 10-person boat and so glad we did! We had an amazing guide, Shawn, and we saw several HUGE gators! The swamp is a natural beauty and we highly recommend everyone take this tour!

Fantastic experience: 10/10 Would recommend and do again. Our Tour guy Chris was incredible teaching us how to work the equipment and allowing us to investigate on our own. The way he explained and went through everything was great. If you do plan of coming to New Orleans and decide to do an investigation tour Chris is your guy.

The tour was very informative and the host did a really good job on explaining everything and even including some well needed humor to the dark and scary atmosphere! I would definitely check it out if you are visiting New Orleans and have the time!

Fantastic experience: Did the 10 person boat with a group of friends. Such a good way to get out of the buzz of New Orleans and see a bit of the bayou. Seeing the guides feed a 10 foot gator some chicken up close was a good way to wake up in the morning

Fantastic experience: This was an absolutely fantastic experience, especially for our kids. We saw all different size of gators up close right at the boat. And the highlight was when we got to hold a small wild gator! Was SO COOL! We would highly recommend Gators and Ghosts.

Fantastic experience: When I booked the tour the weather was supposed to be sunny and beautiful, it was not. It was cold, rainy, and just a miserable day. However, that didn’t stop our guide, he (I’m sorry, I don’t remember his name) did a great job showing us around the bayou and tracking down a few alligators. He was funny and very knowledgeable about the area and had lots of good “gator stories”. My kiddos loved the albino alligator at the facility. I would definitely recommend booking a tour with this group. You won’t be sorry.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely wonderful!!! First of all, I can't tell you how quickly we got through check in!!!! Probably 100 people or more checking in for the same time and it was a SNAP! Then they were very organized getting everyone on their proper boat. Again, what could have been a major process was handled very efficiently. And the tour itself??? FABULOUS!!!! The captain was very informative and had absolutely no trou le spotting the gators for us. I would recommend Gators and Ghosts 100%!

Positive experience: We went with the small boat looking for a more thrilling ride, paying the higher price. For us we were stationary to much of the time, being talked to about the area and the guides family history. Way to much talking, we paid for more cruising and less parking. We should have taken the large boat.

Fantastic experience: We went on a small airboat tour this past weekend. It’s winter and unseasonably cold so I wasn’t expecting too much action but we did spot some gators! Also lots of gorgeous birds and some cows. Going full speed is suuuuper fun but don’t forget some face protection! They have plenty of small necessities you might need to purchase onsite in case you forgot. Our guide was such a blast and the shuttle from our hotel right to the tour was smooth and the driver was hilarious! So worth it and would absolutely recommend!!

Fantastic experience: We did two tours - medium airboat & later that day Vampire & Ghost tour. Both were excellent & both our guides were full of NOLA knowledge! Kathryn was our vampire & ghost tour guide, she was wonderful. We will be back!

Negative experience: Waste of money and poor advertising. This was a casual boat ride that was not out searching for gators or going through true swamps. We went <5mph it felt like the whole time and couldn’t hear the guide. We originally tried to book airboat gator tour but since one was pregnant they said we could only do pontoon. They mentioned not seeing any gators in 2-3 months once on the boat— this really should be discussed at booking and that it’s off season; honestly they shouldn’t run “gator tours” off season. Everybody was complaining on the boat about how they wanted to get off. All other reviews showed people feeding gators and having cool experiences holding small gators. We had nothing.

Fantastic experience: Our tour was with Dylan Hunter and he did such an amazing job. He was hilarious and incredibly kind. We learned so much history & geeked out over all of the spooky legends & details. Highly highly recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: The experience was exactly what we wanted. Our tour guide is a local and managed to find gators despite it being colder and with no direct sunlight. We got to go into some authentic swamp. It was great and the tour guide MADE it. I would recommend anyone do this.

Fantastic experience: Ask for Rodney! He is a wild man. Personal friend of the local gators, has tons of knowledge, both about gators and the history of Louisiana. Gets you real up close and personal with the wildlife. That being said, not for the faint of heart heh

Fantastic experience: Awesome experience! Our captain (boat name was Gator Bait) was great. You could tell he had been doing this for a while and was pro. Any animal we saw he had information on and kept it light/funny as well. He knew where all the gators were and the facts about them. He also showed us a gator nest. The staff was amazing as well! Great facility and smooth check-in. We will absolutely be back!

Fantastic experience: Other than kayaking in the swamp, an airboat tour such as this is probably the most intimate swamp experience you could have. Not only did we get great close-up experiences with alligators, the airboat ride in itself was a lot of fun.

Fantastic experience: Ghost tour was really awesome! Mia was our guide. She dressed the part, was very animated and drew the crowd into her stories. There were several other tours and she always made sure we were in a spot where it was easy to hear. She kept us out of traffic and maintained control of the group. Highly recommend. Gator tour was awesome. I wish I could remember our guides name but he was amazing! He told us it wasn’t a very good time to see a gator because it was cold and late. However, he stressed he was going to find us a gator. He found us four and was so knowledgeable about the area, the swamps, and gators. We even had a great discussion about airboats and the motors. Awesome guy!!!! But I can’t remember his name!

Fantastic experience: Location was easy to get to. Guide was personable and funny. Had a lot of knowledge and funny jokes. Beautiful scenery and loved how safe I felt even though I was 3 feet from a 14 ft alligator. Would totally do it again next time I visit. RIP BUBBA

Fantastic experience: WOW where to even start!! This company alone (Ragin Cajun) is fantastic. We had Sean as our small airboat tour guide and he did NOT disappoint! Within 5 minutes of the tour we saw our first gator. Within the entire 1.5 hr tour, we saw around 10-15 gators AND had a gator crawl up on the boat! Even though this is an extremely adrenaline packed adventure, we felt very safe and never in fear. In addition to the gators, the airboat tour itself was so beautiful. The scenery was just incredible, and it really did feel like you were floating in the air. Going so fast over those lily pads was such a mind blowing experience. I HIGHLY recommend this tour, you will seriously regret it if you don’t do this while you’re in NOLA! Also last thing – we forgot to purchase a shirt after the tour before our bus departed back to our hotel, so I’ve been in contact with Randy who is shipping us a shirt. Missy helped coordinate all the details, and I am very grateful for this entire experience!

Fantastic experience: The airboat tour was amazing. Captain lil Eric was phenomenal. He made the tour entertaining and fun. We saw over 6 different alligators while on the bayou and canals. The entire staff was pleasant and helpful from start to finish. We would definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: Had a blast on the Airboats, went on one of the smaller boats and got to sit next to the driver. Awesome fun out there, also with great knowledge and some comedy about, made for a really pleasant tour. Unfortunately didn’t see any big but we did see a few smaller ones. Either way I would do it again next time I’m back. PS tip your guides! There was only 5 on my boat and nobody else tipped! I had a great time. Cheers team!

Fantastic experience: Went on an alligator airboat tour with Ragin Cajun and loved it! It was the 10 seat boat tour and our guide was very knowledgeable and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. We also went on a Ghost Vampire tour in the French Quarter and our guide Daniel was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly.

Fantastic experience: This was a great time especially if you've never been to the Bayou. The tour guides were funny and informative. The shop owner was welcoming and sweet. My only suggestion is definitely have a ride back already scheduled. The shop owner can help, if you don't, but it's less stressful if you already have it set up. Overall a definite must, great time!

Fantastic experience: The swap tour was amazing. Our captain was so knowledgeable,kind, and funny. He made each moment we stopped a learning experience and gave us an unforgettable memory. Would recommend to anyone and I will be going back next time I’m down there.

Positive experience: We booked a ghost tour and it was a waste of money. Our tour guide talked more about her family than the history about the city. It was hot, and while we understood this, our kids lost interest, so we left. We also booked an alligator tour, and this was amazing. The guide was very knowledgeable, and answered any questions we had. He took us on a fun ride though the swamp and fed some alligators.

Fantastic experience: We booked 2 tours with Gators and Ghosts for the same day. Both were amazing. Our medium airboat tour was first. I can't remember our guides name, but he shared a ton of information about gators. We saw tons of gators up close and loved the high speed runs. We did get fairly muddy, which I wasn't expecting. In the evening we did the ghost tour. Our guide, Yah Yah Universe, was fantastic. We had all ages and she was able to engage and entertain everyone.

Fantastic experience: Misty, our tour guide was amazing! You could tell he was having just as much fun as the guests on board. They genuinely wanted us to experience as much as possible within the tour!

Fantastic experience: Absolute blast, the pro tip here is spring for the small fast boat, it is the way to go. Max 6 people, and it's fast and can go anyhwere the bigger boats can't. We had a great guide, I wish I knew his name, but he's a local shrimper/crabber/waterman, and he commands huge wild gators like we do our best trained dogs, as well as giving good info on history of the land, and able to answer all questions. It was the best money spent on a tour in a LONG time. The biology, the plants, animals, birds, quiet and peace in the bayous was really amazing. In 90 min believe me you will get your moneys worth.

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful time on our tour. Opted for the covered pontoon and we weren't disappointed. Louis aka the swamp guru was amazing. He had us all laughing and intrigued with his knowledge. His jokes were cheesy and hilarious (plus I love a good corny "dad" joke) we got to see plenty of gators, small and cute and one larger one. They sure do enjoy hotdogs and marshmallows lol If I ever make it back down to the bayou I'm going again so long as the swamp guru is my guide!! Gift shop is awesome, drinks were yummy and the albino gator inside is a sight to see. Thanks again for making our final vacation activity a wonderful one!!!

Fantastic experience: We had a great time on this tour. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I really wanted to see alligators and we saw several. I thought we were going further out or would see bigger alligators . We didn’t but I wasn’t disappointed. I probably would’ve had a fit. . The tour is worth it. We took the medium size boat. The next adventure will be on a smaller boat.
