Our comment from TraTraTravel about Kimpton Hotel Vintage Seattle:

Kimpton Hotel Vintage Seattle offers a charming boutique experience in the heart of downtown Seattle. Guests appreciate the ideal location, just a short walk from Pike Place Market, restaurants, and shops, making it easy to explore the vibrant city. The hotel features cozy and clean rooms, with many guests noting the comfortable beds and inviting atmosphere.

The friendly and accommodating staff has received numerous compliments for their exceptional service, helping to create a welcoming ambiance for visitors. Noteworthy amenities include a daily happy hour featuring complimentary wine and snacks, which many guests found to be a pleasant touch.

However, several reviews highlight some areas for improvement. Some users reported outdated rooms and maintenance issues, such as broken bathrooms and noisy heating systems. Additionally, the hotel's parking fees and unexpected amenity charges have caused frustration among guests. The limited restaurant hours and lack of in-room coffee machines were also noted as inconveniences.

In summary, while Kimpton Hotel Vintage Seattle has its challenges, many guests found value in its location, cleanliness, and dedicated staff, making it a good option for travelers looking to explore Seattle.

Kimpton Hotel Vintage Seattle: Reviews

Negative experience: I accidentally booked the same night at two different Kimpton hotels in Seattle through Chase Travel's confusing website. I reached out to request an exception, explaining it was an honest mistake and noting that I never checked into the room. Unfortunately, my request was denied. As a loyal Kimpton customer, this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth.

Negative experience: I have been to many hotels, but this one was the worst. The staff for room was rude. The bed sheets in this room were contaminated and had foreign substances on them. Overally the room looks old. There was dust and cracks everywhere. The mirrors were broken and door hinges are rusted. This hotel is not vintage, it is dirty and disgusting. This hotel made my family trip bad and I will not come here again.

Fantastic experience: Love love the service, rooms are nice and clean..great location happy hour is a plus from GA this definitely my go to hotel when I'm in town

Negative experience: The service here is seriously bad and terse. The reception is not friendly and almost like the customer somehow insulted them by checking in to the hotel. They also did not acknowledge platinum IHG status and made me regret choosing kimpton completely. The rooms are old, and the hotel is very “vintage” = old. At night you can hear the boilers and little sounds from upstairs and next door. If you’re travelling on your own I highly suggest you choose somewhere else. I checked out after one night and was glad to do so. The only saving grace is the location which is central and downtown. I wanted to spend as little time as possible in the hotel.

Negative experience: The room was nice, clean, and comfortable but the front desk associates should give guests the courtesy of letting them know about the $30 amenities charge. When I saw it on my cc bill afterwards, I called to ask what it was for. The woman on the phone explained that it gives you access to their gym etc. and includes a $10 food and beverage credit. I said that I had no idea and that would have been nice to know at check-in. With an attitude, she replied that it's in the confirmation email that they send at the time of booking and in the brochure at the front desk. I guess a condescending front of house is part of the $200/night hotel experience.

Fantastic experience: I've been here twice so far, and my experience both times were wonderful. They have great customer service and they attended to my every need. The staff are super polite. The rooms are very clean. The location is perfect, it's right off of I5 and it's easy access to I5. I highly recommend staying here! Best hotel ever.

Fantastic experience: Valet refused to park my manual transmission vehicle but spot hero reimbursed me so it worked out and I parked at the parking garage right across the street

Negative experience: We booked this hotel using our IHG points since we are diamond members and have reward nights. We wanted to stay fairly close to Pikes Market and the monorail. While the hotel is located super convenient to restaurants and shops, it lacks the “boutique” touch they advertise. The lobby is tiny and cramped. When you arrive, you have to walk through a parking garage to enter. The room was a two queen premium due to the view which was nice. Unfortunately, the bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom was extremely tiny! It felt claustrophobic. There were no bath robes provided. They also only provided three towels for two adults + two kids staying for three nights. The shower had a soap dispenser attached to the wall which felt cheap. The water kept getting into the dispenser so all the shampoo and soap was watery. The fridge was also warm so we weren’t able to store any drinks in it. On the third morning of our stay, the landline phone had the speaker button consistently going off at 5 AM. I would get out of bed and turn it off and it would happen again. I almost unplugged it from the wall. I’m unsure if it’s a faulty wiring but the lights flicker every time the heater kicks on as well. Now the one thing that excited me to this hotel was how it was labeled as “boutique” in the description with complimentary wine in the evening. Well, if you want to cram into the tiny lobby with a bunch of strangers for one tiny glass of wine, this is the place for you. It wasn’t my cup of tea. Which is another major con staying here. There are no tea or coffee makers in the rooms. In the morning they provided complimentary coffee but I had to have 3-4 cups since the paper cups were so tiny. One of the biggest frustrations with staying at this hotel was the parking. It’s advertised as $60 but they don’t tell you that it’s mandatory valet and with taxes and fees it’s $75+ a night. We did not have access to our vehicle at all and had to wait ten minutes to have valet bring it down for us to retrieve items from our vehicle. They should be upfront about this and put it in the fine print. It is outrageous that they don’t and felt deceptive and misleading. This information would have been useful to know - I would have stayed some where else. Overall, I would never stay here again. Kimpton hotels usually offer wonderful stays but sadly this hotel misses the mark.

Negative experience: We found this place to be pretty basic, unimpressive, and lacking normal hotel amenities for $200+ per night price tag. Positives: - The room was decorated fairly cute with a wine cork artwork/stylish chair - The bed was comfortable - The free glass of wine hour sounded like a nice touch but we missed it unfortunately due to a dinner reservation. Negatives: - There was no coffee machine in the room! Coffee was only available during the morning hours in the lobby as well. This is such a basic hotel expectation that I was really surprised it was missing. - The restaurant attached to the hotel, Tulio, was open for very limited hours in the evening (5-9 pm). We tried to stop in for an after dinner drink right at 9 pm and were turned away because they are working on closing down. - The bathroom must not have been cleaned well because there was a clump of hair in the shower that was not mine. - Noisy - I could hear the neighbor's shower running loudly in the wall behind my head in the morning. - The TV was strangely far away from the bed. We have stayed in several Kimpton hotels in Seattle now - the Monaco was my favorite followed by the Palladian, and unfortunately this one was my least favorite. I would skip this one.

Fantastic experience: The kimpton vintage was a perfect place to stay in downtown Seattle. They are centrally located to all the best sites in Seattle and they are even pet friendly! Make sure not to miss the daily happy hour for free wine, music, and games by the fireside which is such a cozy way to unwind and meet new friend! 10/10 would come back!

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Gary, was helpful with the valet service. Room is very clean and the hotel is very clean in general. We would definitely stay here again. The only downside was the breakfast service in the hotel restaurant was absurdly bad. Food is great – service was bad. Otherwise, anexcellent stay. Will definitely stay here again. It’s within walking distance of Pike’s market and lots of other Seattle icons.

Positive experience: The location is good and the hotel’s interior is nice. But room is not big and the view is sad. The breakfast as welcome benefit for Diamond elite member is too limited, just one main dish und one drink are included, we should pay extra for a cappuccino or other sides… And the housekeeping is not daily as usual, we should request for the housekeeping extra, this is not a 4 stars hotel standard. Sorry, we paid for every day the full overnight amount, so we’re also expecting the full service. I personally don’t like such austerity measures and I am also not in favor of using excuses such as environmental protection to save on service or costs for the hotel owner. I need daily housekeeping, for me these following services have been done as minimum: - all used towels should be changed; - the room should be cleaned/vacuumed/moped; - the garbage should be emptied; - all consumables have to be refilled; - the bed should be made. So, I’m agreed with Kimpton’s housekeeping standard, the room should be cleaned and serviced every single day automatically, If not, I will never stay at this hotel chain again. I will also not recommend this hotel chain to any of my friends or colleagues or family members.

Positive experience: The hotel was well situated. Rooms were nice enough. Service was spotty. This had a lot to do with the restaurant being closed for reservations. It would have been nice to know this prior to booking.

Positive experience: I stay in a lot of hotels for my job and try to be as fair as possible when I review. While I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, I found the room and hotel in general to be a little run down and outdated. The hallways have definitely gone through a beating. Lobby was also very small. But, the room was clean and it was a very quiet room.

Dustin Pember 11 months ago

Positive experience: Great hotel, staff was very nice. Overall, decent spot for the $$ I suppose. What I do think is way off is the $60 overnight parking. I already thought it was a bit overpriced and I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that the city and state add another $15 in taxes! $75 for overnight parking , completely ridiculous. I get everything at a hotel is taxed like crazy, but the hotel could also just post a total price or lower the fee, 24% added in taxes, unreal...... $40 overnight Valet seams reasonable, then I'll tip your employee

Negative experience: Staff was great and the location was walkable. The room was awful! Do not let them give you room 212 if you visit here. The garbage truck has an early morning stop right outside this ground level room. The worst part is that there is a loud and abrasive CLANK noise about every 10-20 minutes. I couldn’t quite tell if it was from the service elevator or the utilities on the other side of the wall though. Staff was unable to move me to another room as the hotel was fully booked. No other compensation was offered either. Shame on this hotel for knowingly renting out a room with such an issue. It made it very difficult to get work done, relax or sleep.

Positive experience: Solid hotel. One of two elevators was down for the whole 4 days of my stay, which occasionally led to long waits early morning and late afternoon.

Negative experience: Horrible Experience ! My wife and I came to town for the football game and needed a great place to stay for a couple nights. Kimpton. Had good reviews. We were charged both nights when we arrived and were told parking and incidentals were extra. Which is fine but throughout our stay we kept receiving extra charges to our credit card. Another 560.00 charge when we had already paid for the two nights. The front desk staff was not very accommodating and kept giving the same old excuse of …. This is our policy” garbage. someone needs to correct this for us IMMEDIATELY ! We live in another country and how it looks is Kimpton just rips off tourists

Brett Levy 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Loved our stay. Highly recommend. Be aware there is a "resort fee" which is just an extra money making ploy.

James Timony 1 year ago

Positive experience: I really enjoyed my stay here, although it was too short. I was in town for business and ended up staying at 3 different hotels in the same week. The customer service was excellent. When I arrived, the front desk greeted me with a big smile, welcoming me. She made me feel right at home. The room here was very pleasant. It was extremely clean and I had a great city view. The bed was soft and comfortable, and I slept like a rock. I was concerned I might run into a noise situation, as my room was close to the elevator, however, surprisingly, it was very quiet, and I had no issues at all. The lobby is a bit tiny, in my opinion, especially in the middle of the city, however, I know space is a premium, thus, likely not much extra room.

Fantastic experience: Awesome spot downtown! Rooms are incredible, very clean and the staff is friendly and professional. There is an afternoon complimentary happy house with wine and beer so everyone staying there cant meet up and enjoy a drink. Cant wait to go back to this hotel

Alison Klein 1 year ago

Negative experience: Way, way overpriced for the quality of rooms and service. And yeah, the sneaky $25 “amenity fee” on top of the already exorbitant nightly rate was the kicker to 1) prompt this negative review and 2) make me never bother with Kimpton again.

Richard Torbett 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: It is a lovely, unique hotel in the heart of downtown Seattle. There is a top-notch Italian restaurant just off the lobby. The rooms are not your cookie cutter chain hotel room. Our corner suite had great views of downtown. Our stay was short, so we didn't get to take full advantage of the amenities.

Raven Covington 1 year ago

Negative experience: This is a rundown hotel. It’s surprising this hotel is actually under the Kimpton name. The floors in front of the elevators are worn out. The elevator shakes violently. The rooms themselves were very rundown with suspicious stains on the couches. Housekeeping completely skipped my room and no I didn’t have a do not disturb sign. I received no less than 3 texts asking how my stay was. I responded telling them it was poor and no response!

Negative experience: Not worth it!!! Tiny hot stuffy room and very expensive to park here as well. Simply not worth it to stay here!!!

Fantastic experience: Nice place for a downtown hotel. Our room was tiny, but everything was clean, well appointed, and it was reasonably close to the waterfront. The view of the alley and old building next door was special.

Negative experience: Old and worn out. Design details are lacking. Shocked that Kimpton keeps this property in its portfolio. For the value ($250 per night) it was okay. Bar in the restaurant was a highlight

Positive experience: Chose the hotel based on reviews and locations to a few key areas in Seattle. We only stayed one night as we had a cruise booked the next day. You can walk to several locations from here, but ride sharing helped when we were too tired for the hills. The room was nice and the front desk was fun to talk to and checked us in quickly. The valet was helpful also in arranging a car to take us to pier 91 the next morning for our Princess cruise. The restaurant in the same building was ok - I'll try to review that separately. We missed the free beer and wine tasting as we were out seeking dinner at that time. Oh well! The only negative I can say is that my partner was sick the next morning and went downstairs asking the front desk for anything that would help her feel better. Carbonized drinks or medication...or even an banana. She was told briskly that they didn't have anything by who ever was behind the desk at that time. I went down later to walk across the street and see if a small grocery store was open yet (it was not), and asked the same question. A different person was there and she was extremely helpful. Not only did they have a soda, they had Benadryl and even tonic water... that is exactly what she needed. All of this was right in view behind the desk. My partner was too out of it and didn't see it. Also, a nice touch is that every room is named after a winery from the state. Loved the cork artwork on the wall in the room too.

Fantastic experience: We checked in 5 minutes after the July 18 global it crash happened. Staff had no way of accessing records or even knowing what rooms were vacant. Alejandra Quevedo never lost her cool and made sure we got a room and enjoyed our stay. Morning coffee and evening wine and aperol are bonuses. Nice hotel and great staff.

Fantastic experience: Amazing everything! The beds were comfy, the location was perfect for walking to all the sites of Seattle, helpful staff. Fixed our room fridge when asked. Brought us towels when needed. Located near the university st light rail and many buses. We stayed in a room with a king bed and pull out. Worked well for myself, husband and two kids. Sadly we missed the 5pm free wine. Too busy out and about. We love a kimpton hotel and this was a great one.

Rich Wilson 1 year ago

Negative experience: Made a reservation directly on their site 30 days in advance for a room with two queen beds to go and watch the Mariners with a friend. Arrived, checked in, and went to the room. It’s a single king so then I have to go back downstairs…I was told, “the manager changed the reservation and we are completely full,” Changed my reservation? Didn’t say anything to me when I checked in? There was a reason I booked two queen beds. They didn’t care….I stay at Kimpton’s and they are usually great. I won’t be back to this one.

Fantastic experience: I booked here when my flight home was canceled and I was rebooked on a flight two days later. I called around 9am the day of to see if I could check in early. The staff were super accommodating and I was able to check into my room by 11am. I have IHG platinum status so I was also able to get a 2pm late checkout. The room was nice and the bottle of water offered at check in was just what I needed!

Positive experience: This hotel is so boutique and a lovely experience. The design and aesthetic was unique. I could tell that our room had been renovated from an older, maybe even other type of hotel. The bathroom was a little dated, though it was clean. It just didn't seem to match the rest of the modern vibe. I noticed the lobby is rather small and unassuming. It would've been helpful to have breakfast served and free parking. Otherwise, we loved the grand feel of our room and the location felt safe and close to all the fun stuff!

Robert Srodulski 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Our stay was great. Good location, easy dowhill walk to the market and associated places. Not so easy uphill walk back to the hotel (in our 70s) so we Ubered back. Grandkids enjoyed the stay.

Amanda Sawyer 1 year ago

Positive experience: Bit of a unique review, so hear me out. The rooms are nothing special. The "courtyard view" is of a parking lot. The bathroom wasn't very clean. It had hair on the shower walls and the counter, which made me gag. However, the staff is excellent, the location can't be beat, it's surprisingly quiet, more affordable than other Seattle hotels, and it has the best little convenience store across the street. I would absolutely book here again. Also, Tulio, which is a restaurant accessible from the hotel...10/10.

Fantastic experience: Me and my friends are all big Kimpton guys. I can say confidently that after our stay the Kimpton gained three (3!) loyal fans. I would recommend the Kimpton for a stay for any occasion, like a boys trip, a romantic getaway, or a family vacation! You can always count on the Kimpton for great rooms, great service, and great location. We will certainly be returning to the Kimpton for our future stays in Seattle. Overall, the Kimpton is a terrific hotel.

Venky Babu 1 year ago

Positive experience: Overall comfortable stay. Front desk was amazing and very helpful. Clean linens / well made bed and good room decor are positives. However Rooms require remodeling as the beds, bed frames, carpets interiors all looked a bit worn down and not really up to Kimpton standards and doesn’t justify the $ you pay. Attached Italian restaurant while looking old school appear to be pricey - so didn’t bother to try the food. !

Hamed Faquiryan 1 year ago

Negative experience: Arrived at midnight to check-in only to find out they cancelled my reservation while I was on my flight. “Check with Expedia, they should fix it for you.” Truly pathetic, but I guess it is Seattle so what did I expect?

Positive experience: Kimpton Vintage has a great location, it’s located in downtown Seattle and this hotel is quite clean. Unfortunately, many of hotels in the USA haven’t had enough workers, and often not offering daily cleaning service, even for 5 stars ones such as W*stin. You should call and request directly to Hotel’s staff. My stay here was good, the room is spacious enough and clean. This hotel surrounded by many restaurants and only 10-15 mins walk to Pike Market

Fantastic experience: It's such a pretty hotel. I can't wait to get a bigger suite here and see everything else it has to offer. Such great staff and service makes me feel like family.

Fantastic experience: It was my first time in Seattle and I stayed at Kimpton! It was a good experience overall especially with the attentive staff, complimentary drinks, and exquisite food inside the restaurant. However, I did not like the location of the room how it was on the second floor but close to the sidewalk.

Ethan Petersen 1 year ago

Negative experience: Location is hard to get to if you miss their indoor parking. The rooms are paper thin walls I was there and could not sleep after working a double. I called the room service front desk but they never sent anyone to get the people in the room to quiet. I think they either left at 3 or it got quiet finally.

Griselda Zeigler 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: This was a great experience for me and the hubs. The room was clean, the staff was nice and attentive. From the moment we checked in, to the comfy beds, perfect temperature in the room, to happy hour with wine, hors d’oeuvres and a DJ, walking distance to so much fun and Pike’s Market, too, to check out with our lil gift we got from our credit with their bodega options We will stay here again!

Negative experience: My partner and I had a terrible experience with this hotel. We booked through a third party, paid for the room, and the hotel took a deposit. After flying for 4.5 hours, we arrived at the hotel at 12:45am, only to be told they were at full capacity and could not provide a room for us. They proceeded to cancel our reservation and refund the deposit, advising us to contact the third party for a refund. We checked their website directly and it was showing availability in addition all third-party sites were also showing availability. It’s hard to feel like this wasn’t discriminatory due to us being gay. All local hotels were booked, and we could not find availability until 3am, ultimately paying triple for the stay. When I spoke to a “supervisor,” I was told there was nothing they could do and received zero compassion regarding our situation. We basically had nowhere to stay. I was told the manager would call today, but as of 1pm, I have heard nothing. This experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Positive experience: Staff was nice, prompt to serve, location was fantastic. Walk to anything! The room was alright but in need of some service. Screws were hanging out of the door, and the shower rack was hanging off the wall.

Chris Bell 1 year ago

Negative experience: Below average hotel priced like it's far better. They charge a $25/day amenity fee for basic stuff that any other place includes for free (wifi/fitness center/long distance calling). The fitness center is very basic only equipped with dumbbells up to 25lbs and a cable machine. Noisy elevators can be heard from the rooms and beds are not very comfortable. Staff was friendly.

Joe Michaud 1 year ago

Negative experience: First of all we were sold as this was a premium room, it's probably the smallest hotel room that I've ever been in. It definitely was not a true king size bed. And there was no coffee maker or tea in the room. I tried getting room service in the morning to get coffee and tea, and it took more than 20 minutes to get it. I called continuously to try and reach room service to no avail. I had to call the front desk multiple times. There were no help either. I ended up paying almost $40 US for coffee and tea and a small bowl of yogurt. When I went to check out I was in line, and the person at the desk allowed somebody behind me to come up ahead of me to be served first. When I mentioned it everyone just looked at me like I was an idiot. Nobody asked how my stay was. This is an unacceptable way to be treated when you're spending so much money on a room. I would never recommend Kimpton hotels.

Positive experience: So first the good - good location for everything we wanted to do in Seattle, fairly quiet and clean area of the city. The valet who checked our bags for the day was personable and helpful and had good recommendations for coffee locally and for places we may want to see when we were traveling around Olympic National Park. However this property is not consistent with the Kimpton brand - it is an older hotel that has been converted over with none of the touches I have come to expect at Kimpton hotels - lounge area, nice modern rooms, spacious modern bathrooms. In particular the bathroom was tiny and dirty with mold at the air vent, on the ceiling and in the tile grout. Previous to this stay i had always tried to stay at a Kimpton when traveling and would go out of my way to seek out the brand knowing we would have a good stay. I recently stayed at the Kimpton in Glasgow Scotland and it was fantastic. After this I think I need to be more thorough in reading reviews and can't assume the property is going to be great because it is under the Kimpton brand.

Negative experience: Got charged $25 per night for a “resort fee” which was only stated in the small print, and up until now I’m not entirely sure what I paid this for. It’s a mid tier downtown IHG hotel, not the ritz. Edit: fee was waived after making it clear this was now shown on my bill as per regulations of the country it was booked from and it was waived. Room and housekeeping issues still stand though. No housekeeping was provided, including not even changing the towels until I explicitly asked for it, and even then I only received two fresh towels dumped on the desk, did not even bother to make the bed or clean the bathroom. room ventilation was mediocre and unfortunately smelled stale until the AC ran for a good hour. The couch also looks like it could use some proper cleaning.. There is no ceiling light, only bedside lamps and a standing lamp, so inside its not exactly bright after sunset. The fact that a least two of the staff clearly reeked of weed also didn’t help with the overall image of the hotel. And while downtown Seattle is far from the cheapest location for $200+ or 45k points I’d expect better from a IHG property.

Fantastic experience: PM front desk agent Jonathan was great and Michael J from valet/concierge was super accommodating. Both of them very warm and hospitable! The room was very clean too, the housekeeping lady who did our room every time we requested it, room was spotless and kindly folded even our clothes. Did not expect that but was a nice touch. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Fantastic experience: Great hotel, punches above its weight. Only gripe is the gym is pathetic, but other than that, very good place.

Joey Surico 1 year ago

Negative experience: This hotel is very much like having "lipstick on a pig", some of the decorations and aesthetics are nice in the lobby, but the rooms are incredibly small and dirty (stains on lamp shade next to my bed), the beds are mediocre (I had no fitted sheet on my bed) and the room/parking prices are extortionate ($60 a night for parking, even if you're staying at the hotel). They have free coffee in the morning which is nice, but don't have any kind of complimentary breakfast. You feel nickled and dimed as if you were staying at a budget hotel, yet you pay the price of a premium hotel. The counter service was very nice and friendly, which was probably this place's main saving grace.

Fantastic experience: I recently had an amazing stay at Kimpton Hotel Vintage during a girls' trip to Seattle, and I can't sing its praises enough. Firstly, the location was absolutely perfect for sightseeing, making it incredibly convenient to explore the city. The rooms were not only comfortable but also had a fresh and inviting atmosphere that was great to come back to after a long day exploring. And let's talk about the mattress – pure bliss! One of the highlights of our stay was the Happy Hour, offering a fantastic selection of wine, snacks and live music. It was the ideal way to unwind and kick off our evenings. But what truly sets this hotel apart is the exceptional staff. From the moment we checked in until we checked out, they went above and beyond to ensure we had the a memorable trip. Ross, the manager, is amazing. His insider tips and recommendations elevated our experience, introducing us to hidden gems around the city that we never would've discovered on our own. And Tulio, the on-site restaurant he recommended, was an absolute delight – especially with William as our server. Dee and Gary were also incredible, always there to assist with luggage or provide invaluable advice, like securing us a ride to the airport when our rideshare app kept canceling on us. Anthony at reception is also nothing short of a hero for hooking us up with a Keurig for those early mornings or replenishing our water supply after a night out. Overall, the team at Kimpton Hotel Vintage exceeded all expectations, and I can't wait to return on my next visit to Seattle. If you're looking for a hotel that combines comfort, convenience, and exceptional service, look no further – this is it. Highly, highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: What a cute and homey hotel! All of the staff were so friendly and helpful plus there were so many nice thoughtful ideas everywhere. From offering plant pets that you can have in your room, the yoga mat in the closet, and the daily wine social! How nice!! I also loved the little notice board featuring names of pets who were staying at the hotel (so cute). The room was clean and comfy and the wifi was great. I want to throw in an extra thank you to all the staff who helped make our stay so smooth by receiving our packages, keeping them safe and helping out with shipping them back home.

Negative experience: It is bizarre that this is considered a 4-star "boutique hotel". My room was even with the sidewalk outside (nice view in!). The refrigerator in the room was noisy. There were no drawers, only a closet. But it's nice that they supply an umbrella and a yoga mat. Overnight parking was $75 (with tax)! They charge a $25 "resort/amenities" fee on top of the room rent (they waived it for me because I was so unhappy). The lobby is tiny. One of the two elevators was out of service. Bed and bathroom were fine. WiFi works. Staff were fine. Location is excellent.

Fantastic experience: World class hotel experience! This place exceeded my expectations. It wasn’t the fanciest hotel, it wasn’t even the closest to my destination, but the people who work here made this place special and my stay above average. When I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. My room wasn’t quite ready yet, but they sent me a text as soon as it was. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. A man named Dee who was working the parking area was so very kind and went above and beyond to bring my luggage to my room. Another front desk person, Faye, was very friendly and took the time to brew me a fresh cup of coffee because I showed up too early in the lobby and before they’d made some for the day. The little things these people do to make people feel special and welcome really sets this place apart from other hotels. They’ll even bring a plant to your room if you would like one! I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: First let me be up front here. I did not stay at this hotel. My wife stayed at their other property nearby which I will also be reviewing. So this review is just for the service and a shout out to Jonathan the employee I spoke with. I had ordered my wife a surprise that was to be dropped off at the front desk. I unknowingly called the wrong property and spoke with Jonathan. He went out of his way to help me out with this surprise. Excellent service! However, he then realized that my wife was not at the vintage but was at another of their properties. I had the address correct but had contacted the wrong one. He called the other property and took care of it for me. My wife got her surprise and I couldn’t have asked for better service. I plan on going to Seattle soon and this property will be where I stay Thanks!

Fantastic experience: My stay at the Kimton Vintage Hotel in Seattle was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and sophistication. The ambiance of the hotel itself, with its vintage charm and modern amenities, set the stage for a truly memorable experience. The attention to detail in the decor and furnishings added an extra layer of luxury to my stay. However, what truly set this hotel apart was its incredible staff. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. In particular, I must express my heartfelt appreciation for Jonathan. His dedication to customer service is unparalleled. From the moment I arrived, Jonathan made me feel welcome and valued. He took the time to personalize my experience, offering amazing conversations and ensuring that all of my needs were met. Jonathan's genuine warmth and professionalism truly made my stay feel unique and wonderful. His passion for hospitality shines through in everything he does, and I cannot thank him enough for making my time at the Kimton Vintage Hotel truly unforgettable. Overall, I cannot recommend the Kimton Vintage Hotel highly enough. Whether you're visiting Seattle for business or pleasure, this hotel is a standout choice. Impeccable service, elegant surroundings, and a team of dedicated professionals like Jonathan make it a destination unto itself.

Positive experience: Service was great. Efficient and friendly. Location is decent. Something the hotel can't control is the new started street racing and the insulation isn't strong enough to hide it and can definitely hear others which is the reason for a 4 vs 5 star. Beds are comfy, as long as you have a loud noise maker, you'll sleep well. Didn't try the attached restaurant.

Negative experience: This place has the worst service I’ve ever experienced in my life! I’ve felt humiliated during the check-in process. This was all because I checked in late, was refused the room by the front desk, and was verbally harassed by the front desk individual. I’m extremely disappointed by this place and was lucky to have made another booking at the Theodore Hotel. If you’re traveling to Seattle and want the luxury experience, go the the Theodore instead. UPDATE: the hotel reached out to me and told me to summarize my experience. & they reviewed the footage of this incident. Unfortunately, that's where it ended. No further follow up or attempting to make the situation better. I did learn that they have a policy on when to check-in. So please call them ahead of time if you plan to check in later than anticipated. I would hate for anyone to experience the level of disrespect and confusion I experience. Overall would not recommend this place.

Positive experience: We got a great room rate at the last minute, so we took advantage of being a tourist in our own city!! The room was great and clean. We had a king with a city view facing the courthouse. It was pretty quiet as far as city noise. We ate at Tulio and really enjoyed our meal. Room service wa good too for breakfast. Valet parking was $60 and was too high in our opinion, but it was convenient!!

Fantastic experience: Really nice, clean boutique hotel, located 2 blocks from pikes place. Jesse at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful!

Fantastic experience: This boutique hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The double queen room is huge and fit my family of 5. The daily 5pm happy hour in the lobby was a huge bonus and allowed us to interface with the amazing staff, who are awesome. The hotel is located close to public transit and some really great sites.

Negative experience: I usually love Kimpton Hotels and the Vintage in Portland is beautiful, but this hotel is a disgrace. The rooms are more like what you would expect from a budget motel and while most of the staff was excellent, one particular member was beyond rude. The restaurant is mid at best. They do not honor igh member perks and if you book through ihg do not expect your total to be accurate. If you like Kimpton hotels, just stay at one of the others in the city because this one will ruin them for you.

Fantastic experience: First off Jessie was phenomenal great personality soo helpful he recommended great restaurants and even offered me a glass of wine after I told him about my adventure 35 hour train ride! Great location walked to farmers market room was beautiful only con water not so hot as well pressure tad bit small but overall great experience especially love cocktail hours with dj and staff is also great but Jesse was superb

Positive experience: Hotel is nice enough and happy hour is a nice extra. I was disappointed to have paid extra for a premium room to be stuck on the ground floor beside a busy road. Parking is also extortionate.

Fantastic experience: I only stayed one night but it was such a beautiful hotel. They were so welcoming and the suite we stayed in had plenty of space. Thank you Faye.

Positive experience: Nice, clean hotel in a good location. Staff were friendly when we checked in. Rooms aren't cleaned during your stay. No mini bar or water provided unless you go downstairs and fill a plastic cup. They have coffee in the mornings and wine from 3pm for guests. I'd stay again however I think compared to other Kimptons, this one seemed underwhelming and inconsistent to the service and standards we are used to.

Fantastic experience: We chose to have our wedding hotel block at the Kimpton Vintage and are so happy we did!! they were so accommodating and wonderful and all of our guests were very happy. This is a wonderful hidden gem hotel in the heart of downtown Seattle!

Heather Mellor (Real Estate) 1 year ago

Negative experience: Definitely not worth the price. I agree with the Holiday Inn vibes from another guest. Waited 10 minutes to check in. No one was at the front desk or door and there were several other guests waiting to check in. The rooms are small, ours was dusty, and tiny bathroom. Bathroom had a shelf in the shower falling off the wall. The towels are very thin. I did like the bathrobe. The phone to call room service or front desk did not work. Fridge was warm with water puddling. The conceirge was unable to recommend places to eat. I asked for breakfast places and was directed to go to Starbucks or “just walk around and you’ll find somewhere”. I would not recommend The Vintage.

Positive experience: Nice hotel in a great location. Lovely staff. No breakfast or even coffee in your room so you need to go to the lobby to grab a brew, but plenty of local places to grab breakfast

Fantastic experience: Everyone working here was so nice and accommodating. The manager even gave us a bear that we were admiring at check in! We enjoyed playing games in the lobby. The room was great but the bathroom was pretty small

Nick Gu 1 year ago

Negative experience: Room:- bed was good and room itself spacious (corner room). Bathroom very cramped small and not using brand standard toiletries for the shower. One plus was the inclusion of a clothes steamer in the wardrobe. Service: front desk was either excellent or disinterested, little in between. No status recognition on check in and no explanation that breakfast was being served at a different hotel, housekeeping was on request only, and only one breakfast voucher provided. It took four requests over as many days to get the safe unlocked (was locked when I checked in), and housekeeping was missed despite requesting the night before. Breakfast: good, but on one day did not open due to 7:30 due to staffing issues (so wasn't able to use). Excellent staff and food was delicious (this was at the hotel Monaco). Location is good for downtown. Overall would not stay again.

Fantastic experience: Our stay was great! We enjoyed the free wine tasting during happy hour as well as the coffee and tea in the mornings. Walking distance to all the main attractions and you get a later checkout at noon. Room was cute and clean, and everyone was super nice!

Negative experience: Very tired rooms, only 1 lift working and on our 11th floor no carpet outside lift and wallpaper hanging off. Furthermore, when I checked in they told me I hadn't paid which I had....it took them several minutes to actually find and admit I had... stressful

Brittney Frees 1 year ago

Negative experience: Service is fine, but hotel was awful and not worth the price. We were put in a room on the 11th floor which had carpet ripped up in front of the elevator, only one of two elevators worked, and the one that did work smelled like B.O. The shower had minimal pressure. Layout of the room was weird and not coordinated. Minimal amenities. The location is fine, but there isn’t a ton of options nearby for food or coffee. Also, parking is $60 a night Not baby friendly either. Overall, wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Camilla Dartnell 2 years ago

Positive experience: While I had a nice stay at the Kimpton, I was surprised by all of the additional unexpected charges on my invoice after. Things like amenity fees that were not clear to me and apparently not included in the room fee were included -- it seemed a bit like they're trying to hide these costs.

Barry Capal 2 years ago

Negative experience: Lots of issues. Mainly to do with reception staff being less than competent. When reported dealt with poorly with zero compensation. Major warning...this hotel does not provide breakfast on site but direct you to a sister hotel a couple if blocks away and downhill. Beware if you have mobility issues.

Fantastic experience: This was such a nice hotel in a great location. Rooms were clean and staff was very nice. The 5:00 social hour was lots of fun!

Negative experience: I am giving this hotel 1 star because of an unacceptable/horrific experience during our 2 night stay. First let me say, the hotel and our room were lovely. Clean and well appointed. After an early day of travel from Michigan, we arrived at the hotel and checked in. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. We did some sight seeing and then came back to the hotel to rest. I was laying down and I heard someone swipe a key card in our door…no one ever knocked!! My husband was also in the room with me, so I knew it wasn’t him. As soon as I heard the door open, I yelled HEY!! a man said…OH SORRY and closed the door!! I immediately called the front desk. The first two attempts to reach someone, the phone just rang and rang. Finally I spoke to someone and told them what had just occurred. I, of course, was shaken up and felt very uneasy about what happened! She did apologize and said she would find out who entered our room. She called me back in about 5 minutes and indicated it was hotel staff…and apologized again saying they could give us a $100 restaurant credit for the INCONVENIENCE! I explained we have other dinner plans…as we are only here for 2 days it was not our plan to eat at the hotel restaurant. She said she would ask her manager if there is anything else they can do and call me back. SHE NEVER CALLED BACK!! Later when we went to the front desk a different young man said…OH YEH I HEARD SBOUT THIS SITUATION AND ALL WE CAN DO IS THE $100 DINNER CREDIT BECAUSE YOU BOOKED WITH A 3rd party! Needless to say, we will NEVER STAY AT A KIMPTON AGAIN! This was a horrible safety/privacy issue and in all my years of traveling, I have NEVER had anyone enter my hotel room without my permission!!! When I am a guest in a hotel I have to know my safety and privacy are a priority…clearly KIMPTON does not feel the same!!

Negative experience: This hotel has luxury prices but holiday inn vibes. I’ve stayed at nice hotels in Seattle for the same price and this one is a facade. There are better hotels to book. We needed extra blankets and towels for the third person they told me the hotel was booked and there were no extra. Elevators not working. Toilet paper holder broken. Lights flashing in the room. AC didn’t work great. Refrigerator didn’t work. Definitely put water in the shampoo to make it last longer. These are the things that matter anywhere I stayed for that price had nice brand shampoo and conditioner not this one (holiday in vibes all around). It just was not worth the price at all in my opinion. Staff was very kind but that was the only good thing.

Negative experience: This hotel is one of the worst hotels I've been at. It may look upscale but it's really not. Both elevators had issues the whole week I was there. One needed a hotel staff to manually operate it and the other one had a door that never wants to close. This resulted in very long waits and multiple trips by stairs. I was very surprised that they didn't get that fixed within a week. I also had issues with their reservation system. It seems like they switched to a new reservation system in the middle of the week which checked me out and back in. This created issues when getting receipts and claiming points with IHG as they didn't have a record of the first part of the stay. Very frustrating experience and I would never stay at this hotel again.

Negative experience: Nice hotel and staff but let down by room on arrival went to use the closet and noticed dust coming through vent in the ceiling so pushed clothes to the right side away from vent. My wife had a dress near the vent to wear on flight home during the flight she became I'll and couldn't stop itching and came out in lots of rashes. I believe the fibers dropping through the vent are insulation being in the building trade nearly 40 years I have seen the same irritation before .This happened in room 703 please be aware.

Negative experience: Got a room this past weekend for family in town and no one mentioned at check in that *both* elevators were broken. No signs, just leaving you there to stand around like an idiot. I ended up having to carry a child up to the room, thankfully it was only the fourth floor because another stranded guest said that it had been like that for days and they’re on the 10th floor! This location appears minimally staffed and had no manager there during business hours on Monday. Seattle is a real city and has multiple elevator companies that provide 24 hour service contracts, it’s just unacceptable to not have functioning elevators.

Fantastic experience: All kimptons are very nice with super friendly staff. This wasn't my favorite Kimpton as they very much embody the Vintage in their name, and I prefer more modern. But if that's your vibe then you'll love this location. Also great for winos

Fantastic experience: The staff was patient, accommodating and kind. They helped us arrange transportation and valeted our bags. If I were staying in Seattle again I would definitely stay here.

Fantastic experience: The staff were friendly and checked me in relatively quickly which I appreciated as I needed to head out for a business meeting. The area is great whether you are a tourist or visiting the city for business due to its close proximity to the downtown core. The housekeeping was usually very slow and it seemed odd that they didn't do everything you'd expect at a normal hotel (ie. towels weren't replaced, garbage wasn't taken out etc.).

Fantastic experience: Our room was large and had great decor! The bed was very comfortable and I was surprised to find an umbrella and yoga mat in the closet. We were in a great location that put us in walking distance of Pike Place Market and the boardwalk shops.

Positive experience: For what it purports to be -- a luxury hotel -- it doesn't deliver. The bathroom is dimly lit -- imagine the lighting at a bar/lounge bathroom. There were not enough bath towels and we had to ask for more. There is no coffee maker so say goodbye to brewing a streaming cuppa joe in the morning, or tea in the afternoon. For the price, it's just ok at best. I definitely wouldn't call it a luxury hotel. It's a decent hotel. The location is the sole consideration for the price of admission.

Fantastic experience: I've stayed at the hotel twice thus far and have loved it both times. It's placed in a central location where everything (bars, clubs, theaters, etc.) is within walking distance. The cuisine is great at the restaurant on the main level. I enjoyed a few wine tastings in the lobby and their customer service is top of the line! Therefore, whenever I visit Seattle this will be my spot.

Positive experience: Kinda small rooms and NO pool. We booked through a 3rd party website that said there would ne a pool. The kids were disappointed in that. That said, clean, charming, great staff, and a nice spot for checking out the downtown Seattle scene.

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed my stay here. This hotel was centrally located in downtown Seattle and it was walking distance to all the tourist areas. The price was great, almost half of some of the other hotels there, but it was not a budget hotel. Some positives - Location was great. Staff super friendly On site parking, with valet Rooms were clean Vintage is the right word, older style rooms Nice common area with coffee in the morning The cons: The hotel is right around the corner from the entrance ramp to Interstate 5. Cars would line up on the left lane in anticipation to making the left to enter the highway on the next block. This effectively blocked the entrance to the hotel parking, so in order to pull in, we'd have to wait in this line as well. Very inconvenient. The parking is not free, it's $52 a day, but well worth it if you're going to be using a car. Valet works with you also, on our last night, I told them I had to check out early in the morning, and they had my car ready in a front parking spot in the am. It's valet only, since once they take the car, it's usually parked in an above floor parking level. Rooms were a little small, no microwave, safe, or coffee pot. I was a little disappointed that we didn't get slippers either. Our room was directly adjacent to the elevator, so occasionally we could here loud guests. Apparently this hotel allows pets, because we heard a poor dog whining all night, since it was clearly left alone. In summary, great hotel for it's location, option to park a car and it's price. I really enjoyed my stay there.

Positive experience: This is a lovely boutique hotel in a good location for walking to Pike Place Market, the lovely public library and the waterfront. Staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable.
