Fantastic experience: We booked a 12 day vacation trip to Italy. The price was unbeatable and we had an incredible time. We did Venice, Florence, and Rome. Plane, train and hotel was included and we had no issues and our hotels were very nice. Will be booking again.

Fantastic experience: My family and I went on a trip with Great Value Vacations to Budapest, Vienna, and Prague. It was a great trip. No complaints here. Loved the hotels they booked for us and really enjoyed each of the locations.

Fantastic experience: Our trip to the Galapagos Island and Quito was great. Great guided tour and plenty of free time. Very well organized and reasonably in costs. The best of both worlds - time for our own agenda and time for guided tour.

Fantastic experience: Just got back from Ireland, had an amazing time! GVV set everything up perfectly, nothing was amiss. Great price and had a great time in each hotel! Rental car was great and the tickets included for a few excursions were wonderful. Only thing I wish it included was breakfast at each place. Can’t wait to travel with them again in March!

Fantastic experience: My family and I used Great Value vacations to book our family vacation in 2021. The website was easy to use and I got a good price. Everything was perfect and our stay was great.

Negative experience: Will never use Great Value again!! I would give them a zero if I could. GVV is the worst at choosing hotels. On a recent Italy trip on November 2024, they chose hotels and advertise them as being a few minutes drive to vacation attractions. Wrong! They were hours from any attractions. They put us in a hotel in Tuscany area for four nights that was not even open, closed restaurant, closed bars, the grounds were closed and going threw off-season repairs. We were the only people staying in the hotel. There were no other hotels in the area and even restaurants in tiny towns within several miles drive were closed for off-season.Tried to get an adjustment when we returned and they absolutely refuse. You can’t file a dispute on your credit card because you had to pre-pay months in advance. If you use Great Value, be prepared to find your own hotels and spend a ton of money in additional expense and travel cost because they will stick you miles from anything that you want to see. They screwed up last year on a trip for us and we thought we’d give them another chance. LOOK ELSEWHERE! Yes, this was our 3rd trip with GVV and will be our last. We have had issues with every trip with GVV and we just let it go. We kept saying thatGVV‘s issues were an isolated case, but we found that these issues keep occurring every time.Their descriptions on their hotels and their locations are misrepresentation. Their reply mentioned other hotels in Tuscany. The hotel they picked for us was so far away in Reggello from any other hotels that we had to drive two hours to find a hotel. They booked us four nights in Reggello and we checked out after one night. The room was so bad and the toilet leaked all over the floor. Yes, check that out GVV!! Even the local restaurants were closed, and by the way, The only restaurant we could find in nearby towns was a carryout pizza joint. In my opinion, if you book with GVV, you will be looking for hotels on your own and spending a lot more money, time and frustration. They will put you in hotels located very far away from popular sites and there’s always issues with the chosen hotels.

Positive experience: So far, I booked two trips with Great Value Vacations. I was able to secure great deals to Ireland & Mexico. The booking process was simple. The terms of the package deal were clear, so we knew exactly what to expect. When I calculated similar travel plans the package was nearly $500s more per person. I look forward to booking future trips with GVV.

Negative experience: We have used Great Value Vacations 5 times. Our first 4 trips were very good ( last one in 2019). We are currently finishing up a GVV trip to Tuscany and Rome. The “Value” is neither great nor goid. The trip we were on included a car that was big enough for 3 people at best. The cost through GVV to upgrade to a car with automatic drive for 4 people was an additional $689. I found the same car on the Enterprise Italy website for $360. When I called GVV to (severs times) to ask about the huge up charge on the rental car I was told that was the pricing from Enterprise but they would look into it and get back to me which they never did. We finally just rented the car on our own through Enterprise to save the $330. I called GVV ti see if we would receive and compensation for not using the car through then I was told they would get back to me but of course they didn’t. Not a Great Value When we arrived at our hotel in Rome we found out that we had no parking for our car. The hotel told us that we needed to reserve a parking spot with them and that all the spots were already booked. If we had GVV had informed us when we booked our package that parking was not included and that you had to book through the hotel we could have done it. Not a good situation to not have somewhere to park your car in Rome and of course it was very expensive ti find a lot to park in. Again, not a Great Value We will be very hesitant to book with GVV again. Beware if the advertised cost for their trips. The additional fees will make their trips much more costly than you think. Clearly they way they are currently operating there is nothing in their vacation packages that is a “Great Value”.

Fantastic experience: I can't believe how many negative reviews there are of this site. After a friend recommended this site, I decided to book a vacation to Cancun through Great Value Vacations. After booking it, I compared what I would have paid through Expedia, and sure enough it was the better deal. Of course, I was very skeptical at first (I even called the hotel and asked an airport front desk agent to confirm that my booking number was legit). Needless to say, everything about my trip went smoothly and I had the most wonderful time! The flight to Cancun wasn't fully booked and I ended up having room to stretch out in my row with an available seat in the middle. When I got to the airport in Cancun, I realized I made the mistake of not booking my shuttle 48 hours in advanced. Fortunately, the shuttle company was very understanding, easily found my booking number and still managed to get me picked up within 20-30 minutes. The resort was absolutely stellar and the view from my rom was gorgeous! I had the most wonderful, relaxing time! I had zero issues on my departure day. In fact, because my flight was delayed due to snow, I ended up being put on standby for an earlier flight. Surprisingly, I ended up making it on the earlier flight. The one downside is that I had to pay more to travel solo than I would if I had another traveler with me but that would pretty much be the case for every other website out there. Would definitely recommend Great Value Vacations to others!

Fantastic experience: I've traveled using Great Value Vacations traveling to Ireland. We had a wonderful trip, and the value provided by Great Value Vacations was outstanding. Our 8 day trip included transportation (plane and Car). It included vouchers for B&Bs and tourist attractions. The B&Bs were outstanding, as were the attractions. Some our highlights were the Cliffs of Mohor, kissed the Blarney Stone, Dingle Peninsula, and tour of the Jameson Distillery. All this for under $1,200 per person.

Negative experience: GREAT VALUE VACATIONS IS TERRIBLE! Absolutely NO customer service. On my recent trip to Italy last week we were stranded at the Rome airport because Great Value cancelled our flights without telling us!!! We were forced to pay $1900 out of pocket for flights to get back home. Great Value is refusing to reimburse us for THEIR ERROR!!! Stay far away from this company!!

Positive experience: Look into fine print and extra costs if you are thinking of their Amalfi Coast and Rome vacation. I had a lot of issues with this. Purchased an 8-day Amalfi Coast/Rome trip for four people. The price seemed great, which included roundtrip airfare, rental car, and two hotels. Had to pay $720 extra just to get assigned seats on planes, another $300+ to upgrade the auto, $300 to add checked in baggage, and more in city taxes at hotels (which I understand is customary). The hotels were nice, but so far removed from where you want to be on the Amalfi Coast or in Rome. Took well over an hour to get to Sorrento, Positano, Ravello, Amalfi, et al. The hotel in Rome (Grand Fleming Hotel) was 20 euro a day to park, the access cards worked some of the time, and you have no control of your own room's thermostat - they actually turn off the air in the middle of the night. We did not find their staff to be very helpful or friendly either. There was also mold in the bathroom shower. Towers Sorrento Hotel staff was very nice with a lovely view of Mount Vesuvius and nice morning breakfast. Again, just so far away from anyplace you want to be - nothing is within walking distance here. I didn't think Great Value Vacations did a good job at all in communicating with us about our trip. Plane trips - not direct flights which was frustrating - had very quick layovers, so you have to cross your fingers that there will be no delays in order to make your connecting flight. The tickets for one flight had us booked in Group 9, the very last to be boarded. So that was sad. Just a lot of "Basic Economy" bookings throughout (plane, hotel rooms, etc) so just be careful and read up on this particular vacation package (I am sure it applies to most of their packages, so just be wary and do your research first...even call them if you can).

Negative experience: Our most recent experience with Great Value Vacations was extremely disappointing. We have used GVV for year, going to Ireland, Paris, Amsterdam, England and Italy. This time around we decided to use the B&B of Ireland and Scotland experience, where you book B&Bs and hotels across the counties. GVV pays for the B&Bs, but in many locations you need to pay to upgrade, as there are no category 1 places to stay. We paid in Scotland to upgrade to a category 4 hotel. It was disgusting! The floors were unclean and stained, the glasses in our room were dirty, there was mold in the bathroom, there were exposed wires coming out of the ceiling lap, an electrical box in the bathroom hadn't been serviced since 2018, and the overhead lap also had dirty and what appeared to be dead bugs in it. To top it off, the hotel workers decided to leave the back door open all night, which led up to the rooms. We felt unsafe and ended up sleeping with a chair under the door. Needless to say, we did not proceed with breakfast in the morning due to unsanitary conditions. We reached out for support to GVV and asked for a refund for the extra cost and for that hotel. We provided multiple pictures for evidence of how disgusting it was. We were told that we were not getting this refund and that the B&Bs were through a third party. There was no accountability about their relationship with the third party or responsibility taken over being connected with a venue that is clearly not clean, despite charging an extra fee. Our last hotel, which also costs an upgraded fee, had what appeared to be black mold on the ceiling and in the shower. Luckily, we were able to switch rooms. We will NOT be using GVV again. It seems clear that they don’t care about who they are affiliated with, or about the safety or sanitation of the hotels they utilize.

Fantastic experience: This was one of the best vacation packages I've ever booked! Everything was not only what I expected, but better! The accommodations were beautiful and all of the transfers were seamless. The only thing I would change would be an upgraded airline choice so that I could have done the Iceland stopover and gotten a checked bag allowance.

Fantastic experience: If you want a worry free, affordable, fun, all-inclusive, smooth vacation, then this is for you. We've used GVV about 3 times now, and we are planning on taking our family reunion again next year. One of the main reasons we do our family reunion with GVV is because they are not just affordable, but the resorts where we have stayed in the past are so beautiful and safe. Their customer service is great, responding to any questions we might have very quickly. We've never had any problems with any of our trips. We love Great Value Vacations.

Positive experience: I used Great Value Vacations. A friend recommended it and said she had a good experience. I was supposed to go to Costa Rica but Covid hit. GVV gave me a credit to use within a certain amount of time. By the time I used it the trip was more expensive. I understand that airfares had gone up and GVV added an additional day. I was fortunate to be able to absorb the increase. The trip itself was excellent.

Negative experience: Went on a 8 day trip from London to Paris then to Rome. On our last day in London when we were going to board the train to head to Paris, the Eurostar train employees stated they could not find our train tickets! All our travel from each country was included in this trip. We had to pay over $1,100 USD of our own pockets to board the train or else we would literally be STRANDED IN ANOTHER COUNTRY! We already paid over $7,000 USD for the trip in total. There’s no way we should have had to pay for our own train tickets to board! When contacting them, we were told we would get a follow up in 24 hours and it would be expedited due to the urgent situation. No follow-up was ever sent! This shouldn’t happen at all when spending this amount of money on a family vacation where everything is supposed to be pre planned with a company. WILL NOT be using Great Value again!

Positive experience: We have used GVV 3 times now and would again and again. We took the Affordable Italy-multi city 10 day. 2019 and again 2024, Amazing! Also we took the Ireland castle trip 2023 it was amazing as well. The only neg. Is the rental car. So small only good for one and 1/2 persons or 1 person and their luggage. Must up grade to large car.

Fantastic experience: We loved our Italy vacation! This was our first trip to Europe, and we didn’t really want to drive or to book a totally guided trip. We knew we wanted to visit Lake Como and Rome, and we found this package that included everything we wanted, in addition to Florence. The price of the entire package was less expensive than just the discount airfare that I was able to find on my own. It sounded too good to be true, because the airfare from my local airport was included, as well as 8 nights at lovely hotels with breakfast included, and all train transportation between cities and to and from airports. In addition, early entrance at the Vadican plus a bus tour of Florence and entrance to the Academia Museum (statue of David is housed). It was our trip of a lifetime and I would use this company again in a heartbeat! I called the company twice before I booked because I thought I must have made some mistake, the price was so good. If my daughter had not used them for her trip to Spain, I would have been too afraid of this good deal. It was delightful in every way. And everything happened smoothly, on time, and much better than we were expecting. Best trip of our lives.

Fantastic experience: Booked trip to Ireland was fabulous all accommodations were fantastic the hotels 4 different hotels 4 different cities 2 excursions awesome will worth the price also included a one week car rental will book with them again. Had to call customer service to add another to our party excellent customer service will give them 10 Stars if posdible

Positive experience: I have with this company on several occasions and they do a great job! Choice of hotels is sometimes debatable, due to due location, amenities, and services. I will book again with them in the future.

Positive experience: Our Portugal trip was largely well organized and shared with a party of six. Porto and Lisbon were wonderful to visit and Albufeira in the Algarve offered a slower pace at the ocean. Our hotel in Porto was very modern, comfortable and up to our expectations. The hotel in Lisbon was much older, and although charming, the rooms and bathroom were extremely small. Our hotel in Albufeira (Hotel Maritur) was modern but very tired and definitely not 4 star. The redeeming factor was the view. The rooms at Hotel Maritur were tired, the pool area was run-down and some pool furniture was broken. The staff in all 3 hotels were very helpful and the breakfasts offered at each hotel were wonderful. Our train ride from Porto to Lisbon and all transfers were well organized and comfortable. There was some confusion regarding where to pick up our car in Lisbon for traveling south to the Algarve. There were 3 Avis locations at Lisbon Airport. The instructions gave one address which was the wrong Avis site. They then sent us to the second site which was also wrong and finally we were directed to the correct site. Our flights to Portugal were via SwissAir and very uncomfortable (poor leg room even for the shortest of the ladies in our party). Our return flight via Air Canada was much more comfortable. This was the first time we have used GVV. We might consider using the company again but doubt that the other members of our party would.

Flights, rental car and lodging along routes to major cities or points of interest. We always first look to Great Value Vacations when planning a trip

Fantastic experience: I have taken 2 17 day multiple country trips with Great Value Vacations. It was a great experience for a solo traveler. I always felt taken care by our guides. They treated me like family. Everything is set up for you, and the historical information is provided extremely well. We also had city guides who were extremely knowledgeable. Travel was comfortable, and the hotels varied depending on area expense most very nice except Paris but keeping cost down is important to them. I feel for what I was provided it was very affordable. The best part was that personal care from your guides. It has taught me a lot about travel, so I might transition to independent travel. I gained knowledge and confidence about travel

Here’s the 10 day holiday experience rundown by the numbers, I’ll rate ONLY the GVV guided experiences here, if you’re going to Ireland/Scotland/London I’ll be reviewing many stops and experiences in separate Google reviews. +GVV flights ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Delta (our 100% favorite) JFK to Dublin, London to JFK Lingus airline Dublin to Edinburgh, just 45 minutes in the air (I’ll be reviewing Lingus separately) +GVV hotels ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ in Dublin, Edinburgh & London +/- GVV transfers ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Almost 2 hours late Dublin arrival. NO TRANSFER provided either end of train from Edinburgh to London -GVV Scotland countryside Scotch Tasting ⭐️ -GVV Edinburgh Royal Mile Walk Tour -⭐️ had to cancel! GVV used a 3rd party to book the Scotch Tasting Tour, we got up early, GVV provided no transfer, upon arrival the Scotch Tasting group did not have our name on the list! The group tried to remedy, and GVV was properly responsive, but the excursion was never booked! That day’s tour was fully booked so we could only go NEXT day forcing us to cancel our next-day Edinburgh Royal Mile Walk Tour to take the Scotch Tour, the failed tour day we walked around Edinburgh all day in the rain ☔️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ well earned and we would definitely travel with Great Value again!

Fantastic experience: Currently on a self-driving trip through Italy with Great Value Vacations. This is the third trip I’ve used them for, we also did a self drive through Ireland, and a Greece (Athens, Mykonos, Santorini with transfers included). I am a pretty intrepid world traveler and often organize my own trips, but every now and then I let someone else take care of me, and they do: everything always runs smoothly, and we always enjoy ourselves. A few photos to show you the fun so far in Rome and Tuscany, and we aren’t even halfway through! I highly recommend Great Value Vacations, and will use them again soon!

Positive experience: I have travelled with Great Value to Italy, Ireland, and Central Europe. They have done a great job. I recently used them for Punta Cana. It was quite a disappointment. The transportation from the airport to the hotel wasn’t set up so we had to pay. The resort room had ants and cockroaches. The food was good but the resort was old. I was so disappointed! This was so out of character for GVV. I didn’t get emails prior to leaving either. Usually GVV really take care of me. So sad

Positive experience: GVV says hotel and airfare are all included in price. Not So!! I was charged an additional $424 for hotel fees, such as taxes and some sort of "stay" fee. Also, one of the resorts informed me that at my height, 6'3, I would not fit in the bed in the room that was reserved for me. I would need to upgrade my room if I would like to sleep comfortably. that upgrade was an additional $300+. So GVV said my hotel is all paid for in THEIR cost for this Vaca, when in reality I had to pay an additional almost $800!!!!!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I booked an 11 day Greek Isles vacation for April 2024 with Great Value Vacations upon recommendation by a friend who had booked other trips through them before. We were a little apprehensive bc we had had less than ideal experiences with other travel services but to our delight every single thing about this trip was fantastic. We took various flights during the 11 days, also took several water taxis and stayed in numerous hotels and resorts all of which exceeded our expectations. Great Value Vacations arranged all the transfers to the various places we had to get to to board whatever transportation or hotel we were going to that day and we never once had to wait for them or wonder if they would be there at the specified time. All this at a very reasonable price. We would highly recommend Great Value Vacations and can't wait to book another vacation with them!

Fantastic experience: Booked my Dubai trip here and had absolutely top star service at an amazing price. Everything promised was exactly as promised and recommend and would book again.

Fantastic experience: I have used Great Value Vacations for two trips now. Iceland in 2022 and Spain/Portugal in 2024. Both trips went off without a hitch. Accommodations were all top notch and all centrally located. We could walk everywhere. Customer service has always been incredibly responsive. I give them a 10 out of 10.

Negative experience: I wish I could give them more than 1 star, but I cannot. To say my wife and I are disappointed in an understatement. My wife and I booked our honeymoon through Great Value and were excited. 3 months before our trip, we were informed that due to “operational issues” the trip was cancelled. The option we were given was to book to a new date (which would not have worked as we already requested time off from our employers) or a travel credit. We looked at other options, but none that were available interested us. We priced a separate travel plan, and it was significantly cheaper than what Great Value had quoted us. We fought for the non flight credit to be returned to us, but Great Value refused and hid between their “terms and conditions.” We did not accept a credit, as much as we were backed into a corner as our only option. I called the general line to see if we could use our credit towards airline travel, but was told that we have to use it towards one of the packages. I’m beyond disappointed that the company isn’t willing to work with us on refunding the remaining credit to be able to enjoy a trip we actually want.

Negative experience: Great Value Vacation and Groupon were absolutely terrible on this trip! I was screwed into getting only 1 room because I paid for 4 people together. I asked multiple times before my trip if I could get my 2 rooms adjoined and they told me they would try to accommodate. Then when I finally arrived, I only had 1 room. I kept explaining I paid the same price as 2 that booked 1 room and another 2

Negative experience: Don’t book with GVV. I don’t think the people who create these itineraries have stayed at the places they recommend. I did a trip to Ireland and a trip to Puerto Rico and both have been subpar. I purchased travel insurance and then had to fight to get it applied when needed. The customer service team is rude, when you get ahold of them. I did the castle tour of Ireland and only one of the ‘castles’ I stayed at was anywhere near a castle. My Puerto Rico trip was a disaster. The hotel is not a 5 star resort even though it’s advertised as such. Use GVV for ideals but book on your own or through another agency.

Negative experience: Here is what I wish I had known before booking with Great Value Vacations. Most trips are operated by other tour companies. There were not enough people signed up for our travel date so our trip was cancelled by the third party running the tour. Great Value Vacations refused to provide a refund (even though we had purchased the travel insurance and the company cancelled the trip). Instead, we were offered to do the same tour at a different date or a travel credit. To use the travel credit, you must book the travel arrangements with the contact information they provide, which is one travel agency whose name is not affiliated with Great Value Vacations. You cannot use any promotions that are offered on the Great Value Vacations website. The quality of vendors used for travel is not clear as we had to call three times and wait over an hour for our airport transportation to arrive at the airport. Overall, if you are looking for group travel, book directly with the tour company such as Cosmos or Globus. If you are interested in individual travel, book on your own for a much cheaper rate or find a more reputable travel agency.

Fantastic experience: I have used this travel agency twice. Both times have been an incredible experience and at an incredible price! I absolutely recommend this company. The trips include upgrade options, and I have not found better deals. The representatives are very helpful if you have questions about the packages. They even have local emergency contacts in case something goes wrong when you are on your trip. If you can be flexible with your travel dates, keep an eye out for their amazing sales as well.

Fantastic experience: We used Great Value Vacations to go to Ireland in May 2024. Overall everything was as described and smooth. Our flights on Aer Lingus were good, the rental car from Enterprise was easy and all of the hotels we stayed at had our reservation and we didn't need the travel vouchers. All of the hotels were lovely, a little out of the towns, but we enjoyed getting to explore new areas that we might not have seen otherwise. The price we got for this trip was incredible, and I would do it again in a minute. My only complaint was we had a friend who had to cancel due to a family emergency and GVV only offer a credit from one year of when you booked the trip - so our friend needs to use a travel credit within 2 months. I feel like the travel insurance could be a little better for those unexpected cancellations - the credit is fine, but an extension of how long you have to use it should be considered. We had a wonderful trip to Ireland, and I would use GVV again.

Fantastic experience: My sister and I booked 2 vacations through Great Value Vacations. We had an awesome time. On one vacation, we were flying out of NY for a trip to Italy. We missed our flight to NY due to bad weather at home. GVV could have told us too bad, you didn't connect through us. They did not. Instead, they did everything they could to rebook us at minimum extra cost to us. I can not thank GVV enough for all the help and for great vacations.

Fantastic experience: Great experiences with Great Value Vacations. Ireland B&B and Greece. Booked for Italy. Every time they said they would pick us up or every reservation made on our behalf has been flawless. Additionally, they have been easy to work with regarding cancelations, etc. Great customer service. Will continue to book with them.

Positive experience: I enjoyed my trip; however, I was quite disappointed with the lack of amenities included. It was essentially just hotel and airfare without any extras like airline baggage or daily breakfast at the hotel. The fine print didn't mention these exclusions verbatim, which is something I've never encountered in a hotel package before and I would have liked to have known that before purchasing the package. While I did have a good time overall, the lack of transparency regarding the amenities was a bit of a letdown.

Negative experience: I became a bit anxious when GVV didn't have all the requisite info in their portal. I waited and about a week out, the fields were populated with two of the three hotels, as well as the itinerary and vouchers for the transfers. I called to let them know one of the hotels was missing, but they assured me it would be populated the next day. The next day the hotel information was there, however the information concerning the transfers, flights etc that had been there previously was no longer there. I called them again and told them I needed all the information populated because I had to travel to the airport hub in two days. I checked again before I had to travel, but it was not there. Fortunately for me, I had printed out most of the info as soon as I had seen it initially. I paid extra to include all transfers, however, upon arriving in Rome (late) around 9:00 pm, there was no transfer. I called the local company to ask about it but they were confused. Eventually they told me they were only responsible for transfers in Greece. I called GVV and that's when I learned that paying for all transfers ONLY included transfers in Greece and not in Rome. I was not happy. Why would a travel company exclude part of the holiday when a customer is paying for all transfers? Knowing this (transfers not provided) I arranged for us to get to the airport in Rome to fly to Athens. Upon arriving in Athens, the transfer people provided us with a packet of information to include tickets to the ferries. After our short stay in Athens, they picked us up and took us to the seaport to board a ferry to Santorini. The ferry took 8 hours or so, but it wasn't bad. Upon arriving in Santorini, the Tour Greece people picked us up and took us to our hotel. Upon closely inspecting the packet we had received by the Tour Greece people which included the detailed itinerary, I noticed the timeline to get back to Athens was terrible. GVV had booked us to leave Santorini on the ferry at 3:45 pm which would put us in Athens around midnight. This meant that by the time we got off the ship and were transferred to the hotel to get cleaned up, we would have been lucky to be in bed by 1 or 1:30 am.  AND the genius that arranged this timeline, also arranged for us to be picked up at 5:10 am the next morning (or in this case the same morning) to take us to the airport to fly back to London. Now who in the heck would think that this was acceptable? An all day ferry ride that arrives very late at the port, then have to be taken to the hotel, and then have to rise at 4:00 am to be ready to leave again to the airport to board a trans-Atlantic flight! Simply insane. I booked a flight for all of us to fly to Athens in the morning instead.  I had to eat the cost of the flights, but it just made a lot more sense. The transfer to the Athens airport the next day went without incident. We were much better rested than if we had stuck to the terrible itinerary provided by GVV. I have to point out a couple of things here. First of all, GVV was very responsive to my inquiries. However, I also have to say that I really shouldn't have had to make so many inquiries to begin with. The whole thing about not having the requisite information, vouchers etc in their portal was just unacceptable. In addition, being surprised halfway through our holiday in Athens with a ridiculous timeline was also unacceptable. But here's the thing, THERE WAS NO WAY TO KNOW HOW STUPID THE ITINERARY WAS UNTIL WE WERE ALREADY THERE. They don't give you that information until you are there! I acknowledge that some of this is my fault for not noting that all transfers included ONLY meant those in Greece.  But most of the holiday issues I experienced with GVV were just poor planning and poor business practices on their part. I would never book anything with GVV after this experience.  I suppose the "Great Value" in this case means the same thing as it does with Walmart's great value line of products; okay but nothing you really want again.     .

Fantastic experience: We booked a Key West vacation with GVV and it was fabulous! The resort was comfortable, clean and the outdoor restaurant was wonderful. Polite and friendly staff too. We took the hotel shuttle to the downtown area-easy peasy! We’ll book another vacation with GVV, especially to Key West!

Positive experience: I knew what I wanted to do, but not where I should stay. Great Value vacations was outstanding for our needs. They set us up with airlines, had us picked up at the airport, we received vouchers for local tours, transportation when we went to other islands, and the hotel choices were not just conveniently located, but were top shelf properties. My trip was to Greece, but I’d be comfortable choosing them for just about anywhere. Keep in mind, you are responsible for your own time at each location. For us, that was perfect.

Fantastic experience: I’ve used great value vacations a couple of times and have scored great deals! I initially like probably some of you were reluctant to use this company, but I can tell you firsthand that I’ve had amazing experiences! Customer service Helped out answering my questions. It was a little bit of a wait trying to get someone on the phone because it was post Covid times but that’s every where I called at that time. It wasn’t a ridiculously long time though. These Vacations were some of the best vacations I’ve ever been on! Resorts were as promised, transfers, and were supplied with no issues. And the flight times were perfect! Normally, with a value this inexpensive the flight times are undesirable, but this was not the case! I will book with Great value again. I hope this alleviate some of your fears. The pictures below were of a trip great value vacations had for 2 people everything included ie: Five star resort, transfers, air , all inclusive- $1000… yep you heard that right! One thousand dollars! That’s it! Can’t go wrong with this company

Fantastic experience: I’ve used Great Value multiple times including Ireland, Iceland and Scotland. I’ve never been disappointed. The quality of hotels chosen is great! I couldn’t have chosen better or changed a thing. The hip on and off busses pass has allowed us to become familiar with the various cities we’ve encountered Great company!

Fantastic experience: We just came back from Greek Island tour (Santorini, Mykonos & Athens). We had an amazing trip and we are extremely pleased with everything that was included our package which was very well thought out as far as accommodation and transportation (including Mercedes Benz vans). It was above and beyond what we expected! Our tour package included the airfare, hotel (breakfast included), high speed ferry as well as transportations to & from hotel to airport / ferry terminals. When we were planning for the trip, we needed to speak with customer service for some questions and each one of them were very kind and committed to help with our questions. Also, when we reached our destination, all hotel personnel and local tour company personnel were equally committed to help us for our travel experience. We had a awesome time and we're very much looking forward to going on another trip with Great Value Vacation in the near future!

Fantastic experience: We had wanted to take a 'Sister Trip' overseas, and when the offer popped up with Great Value Vacations it was a pleasant surprise, with the cost making that trip possible. We upgraded to an automatic car and the hotels were easy to find, handy locations, clean, and check-in was efficient. The travel vouchers to see sites, and discounts on souvenirs were well worth the additional cost and helped us flush out our itinerary to visit all the main sites we wanted to see while in the country. Our trip was truly a Great Value Vacation!

Negative experience: DO NOT buy any vacation packages through Great Value Vacations. Our flights were canceled the day before our trip (not GVV's fault) due to airline strikes. The airline sent the reimbursement in the form of a credit for the canceled flights back to GVV (since they booked the flights initially) and we booked separate flights to still be able to take our trip. Multiple GVV representatives confirmed that we would receive a refund for the amount of the flights on our credit card in 7-10 business days. Instead, we received a GVV VOUCHER, completely useless to us, as our only compensation. They are sitting on over $1K in flight credits owed to us and continue to insist that we can call up United and use credits in THEIR account to rebook flights ourselves. Anyone who has ever purchased a flight before knows this logistically makes no sense. GVV refuses to give us this money back as promised.

Negative experience: Bought a 6-night package to Ireland to add to an 8-night trip we had already booked that started in Shannon and ended in Dublin. We asked if we could move the final night Dublin stay to the later date. It would be swapping a valuable Saturday night room for a usually lower cost Sunday night. We weren’t asking for a rebate or credit - just a swap. The hotel was willing. We just needed GV to agree. But Great Value said “no, sorry, it’s against our policy.” No reason for the policy, just no, sorry (not sorry). Very frustrating.

Fantastic experience: I used Great Value Vacations twice for Greece and Banff. They made everything run so smoothly. I got to each destination without no problem. The first time was during covid and they was nice enough to extend my travel credits. I will definitely recommend them.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I wanted to go somewhere very special for our honey moon. Hawaii has obviously always been a bucket list location to visit. But we didn’t think we’d be able to afford it right after our wedding. But, we saw a Tik Tok from one of Great Value Vacation’s travel agents and we were so shocked to learn that we actually could go to Hawaii for our honeymoon and stay at the nicest resort on the island, for a fraction of the cost that we were expecting. We had the most amazing time of our lives all thanks to Great Value Vacation. Booking was easy and fast and they sent us our itinerary with our confirmation numbers right away. We will definitely be using this website for all of our traveling in the future, if we can!

Fantastic experience: 3 people went Budapest, Vienna and Prague 9 day trip on Great Value. Lived up to their name. Hotels were fine enough and in convenient locations to very good public transportation. Don't expect 5 star hotel but your not going to spend significant time in your room. Enjoyed each city and 9 days a minimum to see all 3 considering 1.5 days is travel. A couple/few more days would have been ideal but we only had so much time. Trains were done. No hassles. Mostly appreciate the value we got.

Negative experience: This has been the worst vacation through this company. They are constantly changing either your flight, airline, train passes, times without a care. They don’t care if you booked excursions in advance and then changed the plans so you’re unable to cancel to get your money back. They don’t care that they keep changing your train passes even when you call them on it and change it again to the point you lose a whole day in the next country you’re visiting. I’ll never booked through this company again. And I’ll will let my family, friends and neighbors know not to use your company for any of there travels. And last, you can’t get through to them for any emergency, all you get is we will contact you in several hours, by then it’s too late.

Fantastic experience: I used Great Value Vacations for a great trip to Ireland with three of my girlfriends. The accommodations and extras were great. We were able to see so much of Ireland and 10 days just gave us the aching to come back again. I can't wait for another opportunity to us Great Value Vacations for my next trip to Ireland and/or Scotland. (Maybe stay in a castle next time.)

Fantastic experience: I have traveled using GVV overseas over 6 separate times. Hotels, transfers and flights have always been great. I trusted them various times for my families trips and they exceed expectations.

Negative experience: Great Value Vacations might have responded to my review, but they failed to address the most egregious aspect of their failure: leaving their clients stranded in an unsafe area in a foreign city! They took three hours to return my call, only to tell me at 11pm that they couldn't find an available room. Ireland package was good and included a rental car for the length of the trip. Sites on itinerary interesting. Hotels ran the gambit from posh (Tralee) to dreary. Our last stop was 3 nights in Dublin. The hotel, The Address Connolly, was in an unsafe neighborhood and had no onsite parking. The closest parking was a 7 minute walk (per Google maps) through a desolate commercial street. It was after dark on a Sunday night. The hotel offered no help, so I contacted Great Value Vacations. The young woman who answered insisted I check in, despite my explanation that the front of the hotel was blocked by 6' construction fences and we couldn't leave the luggage alone in the car on the adjacent block in a tow zone, in a most unsavory place. I explained my spouse has mobility issues, and if I left him in the car to watch the luggage, I, as an older woman, would be forced to walk alone down this street of undesirables in order to check in. She told me disabled people shouldn't travel! Absolutely disgusting. When I asked her if she would want her grandparents in this predicament, she responded, "No," and added, "You should have done your due diligence." I booked using a travel agency as they are familiar with their destinations. I never imagined they would book us in a hotel which aside from being in a high crime area, had no parking for the rental car. The young woman told me she would call back within two hours. We couldn't sit in a tow zone in a strange city on a rough street for two hours, so I googled hotels in Dublin, found one with availability and parking. In desperation, I booked it. Over three hours later, we were getting ready for bed (in the hotel I booked) when my phone rang. The young woman was sorry for the delay and apologized that she couldn't find a different hotel for us. In short, she was leaving us high and dry. Thank goodness I found a hotel because the representative for Great Value Vacations didn't care. Ultimately, we forfeited the 1st night's room fee at the Address Connolly, but Great Value Vacations reimbursed us for the other two. We appreciated the two night's refund to offset what we paid at the hotel I found. It doesn't make up for the fact that we were left hanging by their customer service when we were in need of immediate help.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been on two Great Value Vacation trips over the last three years. They are the best! I took my elderly parents on a trip with me and GVV was a perfect solution for traveling abroad with them! Every detail was planned out, all I had to worry about was getting everyone to the airport on time…the hotels GVV chose, the locations where we stayed it was magical! We had the trip of a lifetime. Forever memories were made! I love the variety of vacations they offer and the deals they have! GVV really is the best way to plan a great trip- domestic or otherwise!

Fantastic experience: We have been traveling with Great Value for years, many trips. Our vacations were always as advertised ,sometimes with surprising extras. If we have ever had an issue, the staff at the business office has been responsive and timely in their assistance. We will continue to use this company to travel with and appreciate the value that they offer, the quality of the vendors, and the wonderful experiences we've had over the years.

Fantastic experience: The team at this business are exemplary. Even with my hearing loss, I felt heard to be accommodated. They assured us that our first overseas trip to Ireland will be fine. They were right! It was a novel learning and sightseeing experience. My husband and I decided Scotland would be next. But the Covid Pandemic happened. So, they gave us Credit to use years later when we finally went there. But on the second day of that trip, in Edinburgh, they received my calls efficiently to accommodate the sudden withdrawal of All bus tours upon the Queen's death that day. Including hotel details... This assured us a very lovely time for the remainder of our Scotland trip. We were refunded upon our return home. Yes, I recommend GREAT VALUE VACATIONS.

Positive experience: The vacations start with basic economy flights. GVV recommends paying extra for more options for your flight. I paid extra and ended up with still not being able to pick my seats from Air Canada without paying an additional $66 per person per flight for a total of $264. Air Canada will "let" you pick your seats 24 hours before the flight for no charge. This could mean not seating together. Wish I have known this upfront.

Fantastic experience: 4 Star hotels, car rental, activities and airplane fare included on my self drive tour in Ireland. Only thing is they probably should warn how far hotels are from each other being 2 hours 40 mins away average other then that great vacation thank you

Offered upgrades that made sense and the cost could not be passed up. Fantastic experience: My husband and I took a trip in March 2023 to Ireland and it was magical. Our package included airfare, hotel stays in Dublin, Cork and Killarney, train rides to and from cities, and a guided bus tour of the Ring of Kerry. Everything went smoothly and it was easy to communicate with Great Value Vacations beforehand. We feel like it was worth the price for our trip with everything included and we were starting to plan our next trip before we even left Ireland.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I used Great Value Vacations for a trip to Italy in 2019. Flights, hotel (a castle!), and transportation were included at an amazing price. The castle we stayed in was *amazing*, a piece of history that we were very comfortable in and had staff we still remember fondly. We were able to upgrade our vehicle to an automatic and had an easy process of picking it up at the airport and dropping off at the end of our stay. We saved so much money that we were able to book an overnight in Venice in the middle of the trip. We calculated trying to get flights on our own and realized the entire trip cost almost as much as that would have! We were able to see so much of the beautiful country and could not believe this site was real. Thank you Great Value Vacations!

The flights were at convenient times, the accommodations were lovely and any included rental cars were through reputable companies with no problems whatsoever. Fantastic experience: Great value vacations was amazing for our trip. We went to England, Ireland and Scotland and Great Value managed the hotel and travel arrangements which made it stress free. Once we got to each hotel, they all had a complimentary breakfast and were in the city centers making it easy to spend our days wandering around and seeing the sights. There were also were guided tours you could chose from that were all unique. Overall it was a great service that was competitively priced.

Fantastic experience: My hubby and I took a trip which included London, Paris, and Rome. Great Value Vacations did their part by booking our hotels, air flights and our train ride from London to Paris. Everything was awesome as all reservations went without a hitch. We were able to see the places we really wanted to see. We even had time to visit the Vatican. We will definitely use GVV for our future traveling needs.

Fantastic experience: I've used them for three vacations.... all were really great! Each of the hotels have been great (usually outside of the city centers, but always close to transportation). Awesome deals!

Negative experience: DON’T USE THIS SERVICE. My wife and I got booked at hotel in Rome in a very dangerous part of town, where we did not feel safe walking around especially at night. We checked out of that hotel within 10 minutes and had to find other accommodations out of pocket because they wouldn’t answer the phone. When we got back it took them weeks to respond to tell me they wouldn’t be giving me any sort of refund on the hotel. The money you THINK you’re saving with them, you’ll lose when you get there!

Fantastic experience: I love booking trips through Great Value Vacations. They take care of everything - air fare, airport transport, hotel and breakfast. The price is very economical. I compared booking a trip myself and found that the cost of the air fare alone was the approximate same as the entire trip through GVV. I love having all the details arranged for me. I have taken several trips to Europe using GVV and am looking into more for 2024. Great customer service.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have used GVV twice, once via Groupon and once directly. If it weren’t for GVV, I wouldn’t have experienced a multi-country trip throughout Europe because it wouldn’t have been affordable, and my travel dreams would’ve remained a dream. I love how they often offer air, hotel, and you can add special events. Managing the booking process piecemeal can be a headache, and GVV takes care of it all. I'll continue to use GVV to book vacations that would otherwise be unaffordable. I'm so grateful to GVV for allowing me to making memories that my loved ones and I will remember for the rest of our lives.

Positive experience: My wife and I loved our vacation to London and Paris. We would not have gone without GVV putting this trip together (and Travelzoo alerting us to it). Great Value also provided good document support, every voucher and timetable stored in one place. And they asked for feedback after the trip, which we provided. I docked one star though because booking the trip was harder than expected. The default was 3 days in each locstion; the stated option was adding a fourth day to each location, with a Dublin trip a possibility. I added the fourth day only after scrapping the booking three times. I never saw the Dublin option. (Okay, since I didn't want it, but still.) Adding the extension was counterintuitive. Also... Scheduling only a 55 minute connection was scary in an unfamiliar airport. And while GVV averted me to a 5 minute change in the airline schedule, they completely missed a one hour advance in the Eurostar departure. I caught that one when I printed the ticket. Still, we were extremely happy with our vacation. GVV is definitely bookmarked in my browser!

Fantastic experience: My recent trip to Paris and Nice was incredible. The motel was very nice and centrally located with the subway close by, there was a farmers' market with lots of fresh food on Friday and Sunday. The train ride to Nice was very enjoyable and our accommodations in Nice also were centrally located to be able to walk to the beach and dining.

Fantastic experience: Travel is fun and GVV worked with us through Covid shutdown and medical problems. But we both persevered! Trip to Ireland was a success. Enterprise was great too. Buy the car insurance. You just may need it!.

Positive experience: Western Canyon Explorer -- Air Fare, Car Rental, and Hotel Accommodations Really, really, really enjoyed this trip. Everything from GVV went very smoothly! Never had any problems. I would have given the trip 5 stars if the hotels would have been a bit nicer. I don't need a 5-star hotel, but a 4-star hotel sure would have been nice -- would have made this trip perfect.

Fantastic experience: I used great value vacations for a trip to Spain. It was a week package that included flights, hotels in three areas (Barcelona, mountain and seaside) AND a car. Great itinerary. I love that I had a mix of everything. If I had planned a trip myself I’m not sure I would have ended up in those places. It really was a great value and didn’t have any issues.

Fantastic experience: We have been on 5 GVV and they have all been wonderful. The price has been a GREAT VALUE. We do up-grade our airfare because traveling to Europe in economy can be rough. We just got back from Germany and had a situation where we changed our itinerary because we wanted to go to stay in other areas of Germany than the GVV itinerary. One our GVV hotels was canceled by accident but GVV took care of the problem right away. I always compare prices through GVV and booking the trip myself and it is always cheaper through GVV. In Germany we stayed in 3 different areas than the package (and paid for it ourselves) and it was still cheaper than booking the trip myself.

Fantastic experience: We had SUCH a great experience with Great Value Vacations. I went with my best friend to Ireland, and it was so much fun! I will say, make sure you have any tickets/passes printed in advance. Travel was simple, hotels were nice, and our overall trip was very pleasant and free of hassle! Positive experience: A great deal and an enjoyable trip. We have enjoyed previous tavel through Great Value Vacations and will continue to plan our trips through them. Note to Great Value Vacations: One thing that you should tell everyone up front looking for a vacation, a bit of a heads up on the parking situation (ours was $50 per night) valet only. And let them know upfront also of the room tax they have to pay, (ours was $35.00 per night). Also any other set expenses associated with any particular trip. I am only mentioning this because we can afford to pay those charges, but a lot of people may be on a very tight budget and not knowing that they will have to pay these type of charges daily or however they come up. in our case $290.00 extra charges which almost amounted to 1/3 of the original trip cost. This could possibly spoil many peoples vacations. First off I know Great Value Vacations will read this and possibly respond by saying "None of the other travel companies tell customers this upfront, We would not get as many people wanting vacations because we would appear more expensive" I can understand this response, but if you tell them upfront to check any other prices they get for parking, hotel taxes, etc, etc., they would appreciate the honesty and the heads up from you which would transulate to more very loyal customers for you.

Fantastic experience: 2 trips to Ireland with rental car were fantastic. Drove north to south and east to west stayed in the best hotels even a castle. The price was so reasonable and GVV was great when we needed them. Next trip to Greece once I heal from open heart surgery and GVV worked with us when we had to cancel our trip. Fantastic experience: My husband and I have used great value vacations a few times. We used them to visit Spain / Portugal. We used them for our honeymoon in Bali, Indonesia. And most recently, we used them for our trip to Budapest, Vienna and Prague. I love using this company because as a planner, they plan the flights, hotels, rails and sometimes activities are suggested for the trip - so I can just enjoy and not worry about the stress. The hotels are always in a great location (rated 4 and higher), nearby restaurants or attractions but perfectly suited away from tourist traps. We've always enjoyed ourselves and we plan to use them again!

Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic birthday celebration we were looked after by Mark and all his staff. Food was excellent and everyone had a fun relaxing afternoon and early evening. My friends and I will be going back to 007 in Calen Porter again.

Fantastic experience: My granddaughter and I used Great Value Vacations to go to Ireland. It was a fabulous trip and truly a great value. When we got there our car was upgraded the hotels were in perfect locations and all were clean, top notch, and professionally staffed. I would highly recommend Great Value Tours. I am planning to take another grandchild on the same tour next year.

Fantastic experience: Love Great Value Vacations! Being in Bali is the first time we have used then, however it will not be the last. The price was inexpensive considering it included air from LA to Bali, nine nights in very nice hotels and a tour guide and driver assigned to us. We loved our driver and tour guide. It was just the four in our party with them. I cannot say enough good about Great Value Vacations c they were extremely easy to work with.

Fantastic experience: We used Great Value Vacations for our first international trip with the Ireland Your Way: B&B Vacation. It was incredible. The flights were great (on time and smooth) and booking the bed and breakfasts was easy. We were able to explore the beautiful, lush green Irish countryside intimately and without worry. I would and have recommended Great Value Vacations to friends.

Fantastic experience: Sometimes when something seems too good to be true, you should avoid it at all cost (because it IS often is too good to be true). However, even though my initial reaction to Great Value Vacations Central Europe vacation package was just that, my actual experience was something completely different. The package including travel to Budapest, Vienna and Prague WAS incredible and indeed was an amazing value. Our first experience with GVV was absolutely terrific. Our booked flights from and back-to our home airport went very well and were hundreds of $$ less than if we booked them ourselves. The choices of hotels made by GVV to include with this package were fabulous. In fact, we couldn’t believe how extraordinary the choices were because they were right in the middle of all of the things we were hoping to see. And the included breakfasts at each hotel were incredibly good (all breakfast buffets with a huge selection of breakfast foods). The hotels were very nice, clean and staffed with very helpful and knowledgeable staff. We did upgrade our flights and did upgrade our train tickets but you certainly don’t really need to do so. All three cities are fabulous in their own right with much more to see and do than our 3 days in each city allowed. All-in-all, we couldn’t have been more pleased with everything to do with this GVV vacation.

Fantastic experience: We booked GVV after a friend recommended them, for our Ireland vacation. The booking process was so easy I kept expecting something negative to happen along the way. After the initial booking we upgraded our rental car to a larger size and to automatic and I went into the airlines site and upgraded our seata We flex into Dublin, picked up our car through Enterprise, and it was all so easy. We started our trip by exploring Dublin then drove to our first hotel in Waterford. It was rated 4 stars, which is the top rating in Ireland. The hotel was luxurious anthe grounds were gorgeous. We mapped out our entire trip based on the itinerary set by GVV. We knew we would not be able to see it all, but having points of interest allows you to prioritize your trip. We visited so many amazing cities and saw castles, stayed in all luxury hotets, explored the beautiful west coast, Dingle Peninsula, Cliffs of Moher, etc. The trip was flawless and a dream come true. We ended in Wicklow in the beautiful Glendalough Mountains and has a seamless drive back to the airport. We followed Enterprises directions for returning the car with a zero complications. We HIGHLY recommend GVV and look forward to traveling with them again!

Fantastic experience: I've done three vacations with GVV this year: Ireland, Italy, and England. They are so affordable, great places to stay, great sites to see, and so fun with endless possibilities. We had to reschedule a vacation due to an illness and we were able to change that vacation for another time with amazing online support. As a graduate student still seeking to keep a budget but also travel, this place is a great source.

Fantastic experience: I booked a trip to Ireland that was cancelled because of Covid. GVV gave me a credit to use in a year or so, they were very lenient and extended the time to use the credit almost 3 years. Went to Ireland this spring (April 2023). I was worried about EVERYTHING and called GVV multiple times with questions prior to the trip. In my opinion they were a quality tour company and my trip went according to plan. I added days to the end of the trip, changed the airport to fly out of and a couple other changes. When we arrived, the car rental was ready for us, the hotels all had our reservations and were expecting us. I wouldn't hesitate to book with GVV again.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have traveled with Great Value Vacations twice - to Italy and Spain - and highly recommend the company. Their itineraries are thoughtful, creative and reasonably priced. Our accommodations have always been wonderful (clean, safe, and well located) and the tour operators with which they partner are friendly, well-informed and professional. We love GVV.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful travel company. Booked an Ireland trip through them. It was amazing. Accommodations were awesome. Have a trip coming up. I made a major error while booking and did not buy the insurance. Not only did Kerry find the problem, she was able to fix it for me!! at no additional cost! Fantastic experience: I have used GVV multiple times over the years and have not had any issues. In fact every vacation I planned went very smoothly. I used them for Ireland, Ireland/Scotland and a couple different times to Italy. I actually tell every one I know when they ask how I plan my vacations that I use Great Value Vacations.
