Fantastic experience: This place is great! The food was absolutely spectacular and I had to physically restrain myself from eating everything in one go. It's a miracle that I had food left over. The staff are friendly and I like that we get a little fortune with each order. The atmosphere was nice --- the patio area is a little messy but the music choices are fire. Overall, if you need a sandwich place, and also need a notary public at the same time, this is the place!

Fantastic experience: The food was amazing. I ordered a Large sub for a work party and was recommended to work with Katy, I got so many compliments on the taste and presentation!

Negative experience: We were so excited to try this place. Called at 620 pm for a pick up order and was made aware they are no longer taking orders but they close at 730 and so serving hot food at 7, arrive at 651 pm and they wouldn't take any orders. Why not just say on the phone to begin with you didn't want our service at all. What a bad taste left in our mouths.

Negative experience: Came to pickup an order, the staff told me it wasn't meant to be prepared until a "certain time." The order was placed. Make the damn food. I don't have all day to wait for you to decide when it needs to be ready.

Positive experience: First time, kind of a weird place, thought I was in a Tarantino movie. Expected a masked gunman or body rolled in a rug to get dragged through. Took almost 40 minutes to get our sandwiches. The frys were good the pastrami and meatball were very good. Order on the internet unless you want to blow your lunch hour waiting.

Negative experience: I am a longtime Green Shack customer and was excited that the snake eyes chopped sandwich was on the menu. When ordering online you check the box only if you DO NOT WANT IT CHOPPED. Well, I NEVER check the box because I WANT it chopped. First online order placed for chopped, got back to work and sandwich was not chopped. 2nd attempt at chopped, Luckily I checked before I left and again not chopped. 3rd time happened again the owner overheard me stating I did not check the box and alerted the staff that if the box is not checked it means to chop! Today I placed an online order for chopped and I asked before I left and was told it was chopped. Get to work and IT WAS NOT CHOPPED! I called and was offered to bring the sandwich back to get my correct order. Problem is, like most working folks, I only have 30 minutes for lunch and could not take it back! So I was stuck with a sandwich I did not order. I am particular about my food so this may not be a big deal to someone else, but a big deal to me. So again here I am eating untoasted bread with a bunch of condiments meant for a chopped sandwich! Please fix this or I will have to break up with the Shack!

Fantastic experience: I love this place since i was a kid and since then they did nothing but upgradeits a food and beverage one stop shop from juice to alcohol lol and from cold to hot subs and food..5 starz from me..I cant get enough of the "Lettuce entertain you"

Fantastic experience: Green Shack is considered one of the best deli's in the IE. They didn't disappoint. I had the Castro's Church (cuban) which was juicy and had lots of meat. The 6 inch sub filled me up! Great service and a friendly staff make this an even better experience. I'll definitely be back.

Positive experience: Great place to grub. The name of the “Shackwiches” are creative, I haven’t seen those names on anywhere. My fave was the Eight Baller. But recently i ordered the Joker, the Green Shack Signature, and the Plain Jane. We enjoyed the meal and we were pleased. I ordered a side of fries. That, however, was disappointing. I ordered large fries but what i got seemed like it belonged in a kids meal. I recommend Green Shack for the Shackwiches, alcohol, groceries, and all convenience items.

Negative experience: First timer.They had hired new people making the grinders per my sister.The staff and family who work their just Beautiful inside and out,best atmosphere.Sadly the sandwich was just all bread,hardly no meat or condiments.I paid close too a hundred for sandwiches,they cost 14.99 to 16.99 a large and small 9.99.The small is very,very small and more for a child.I was so disappointed sadly.For the cost could of had a full meal .Hopefully just a bad day but I don't think I will be back for the grinders.What I could taste delicious but if your going to charge those prices better add the meats.

Negative experience: This place sure has changed. I came in and it was the worst service for the food. Slow lazy girls back there. Food was great but I waited for over 30 min for 2 sandwiches. They walk around like zombies back there. No customer service at all.

Negative experience: Sandwich bread was burnt whole Sandwich was dry. The girl behind the counter making the food stopped to talk alot while flies flew around. She also stopped making food to check the schedule running her finger across it while wearing gloves and didn't change them continued to make food.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here for 28 years or more! They take EBT and they load the deli sandwiches with all the goodies you want! They allow service dogs inside and even have a snack and leftover area for the animals! I love this place and my 3 kids have come here also as grown-ups and they love it too!

Negative experience: Been going to Green shack Deli to buy their sandwiches for yrs I just came back from there because I had To return their sandwiches their bread had green mold on it.. I came back home to find my 10yr old still throwing up in the bathroom....Shame on you green shack We would even recommend your food to friends and family But not no more if you don't know about the GREENNSHACK is probably best you don't...R.I.P GREENSHACK 4/10/2023 7:30 pm

Negative experience: Food is great but the lady behind the counter taking the orders needs to learn customer service. She shouldn't call PAYING customers "young and stupid". Definitely will be my last time coming to this place. Such a shame. Than the lady with a tattoo on the back of her neck was telling the other lady "you take this call, f*** him, I can't deal with it today. I'm not in the mood" definitely not the place to get customer service.

Negative experience: Both times I’ve been the service was bad, the sandwich lady was rude, it takes ages to get your sandwich even when they’re slow, and they’re always out of things. Not to mention how mediocre the food is when you finally get it. You always hear good things about The Green Shack and it has been showcased in news and food shows but that was a while ago. This place has peaked. Even though it’s local for me I’ll drive farther for better.

Negative experience: Food is great, but service is awful. 2nd time I have gone and the older lady that works there is rude. If you don’t want to work then hire someone who does! Yelling at people that ordered something online that you are sold out of is unacceptable. It’s a shame because I’m willing to wait for a good sandwich but, not for horrible service by a crabby old lady. DO BETTER

Fantastic experience: Ended up here randomly. Typically I look for a place with good reviews when I travel, but in this case I just searched for a nearby deli as we wanted some sandwiches. Holy **** did we get lucky. This is a local gem that I stumbled upon and each sandwich was phenomenal. I had guests from Italy who said the Lobster sandwich was the greatest sandwich they have ever had. I was also told the Italian and Cubano were great and my Philly was top notch. This is a must stop if you're anywhere within an hour of here!

Positive experience: The meatball sandwich was good. Flavor of sauce,cheese,bread,and meatballs all went well together. Philly cheese was not good. Flavor of meat was overwhelmed by the oil. Greasy. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day for the Philly. I'll have to try more items next time.

Fantastic experience: I came here to get a deli sandwich and I saw you could pay your bills here. This wes the ONLY place in the San bernardino area where I could get a money order using Google pay and I didnt have the actual debit card. The lady that helped me was an absolute godsend. She was so patient, let me use multiple ways to get the money order. She could nor help anyone else while dealing with me and she never rushed me never made me feel like I was a problem(even though I was) her personality and how she handled me and de-stress the situation has made a customer for life. She could have been so nasty to me and she wasn't. We could all learn a compassionate lesson from her and just treat each other with basic kindness. Not only that the sandwich was great.

Positive experience: Subs here were delicious hands down nothing like subway which doesn’t seem fresh .. Anyways I ordered the pastrami & Philly steak both were really good!! Only thing if they had coke products by the machine other than that good place for some home made fresh food!

Fantastic experience: It’s a liquor store with sandwich place in back. They also have check cashing and travel services. We ordered online and went into store to pick up. There is area in the outside back to eat. I had the corn beef sandwich. There was no sauerkraut. The sandwich was good! My husband a Turkey sandwich and requested on croissant. They called to advise they were out of croissants and offered other bread choices. She enjoyed her sandwich also! Both were big and filling! We got a free drink for online order which was a surprise. The employee was friendly! We didn’t try any side items or desert, they have several of each to choose from. Was reasonably priced, not particularly fast service.

Negative experience: Was disappointed to see on my monster lobster the bread was so hard and all imitation meat no real lobster. they drowned one of my sandwiches with mayo and mustard I didn't ask for extra mayo or mustard. And my Havana Cubana half the sandwich the meat was so dark it looked burnt or old. I didn't eat it spend almost 70.00.

Negative experience: Not happy! I ordered the BLT with Avocado and the bread was not fresh and should have been toasted but the worst thing is the Bacon!! They basically put crumbs of bacon. No Strips! It's like if they just threw on all the little leftover bacon crumbs and sprinkled them on. I tried to somehow salvage what I could of such a crummy sandwich but into the trash it went!

Negative experience: The food is good but the waiting time is horrible, sometimes even 45 minutes to get your order.

Positive experience: Sandwiches are delicious, employees are friendly. Ebt is accepted for anything on the menu. I highly recommend the Joker, and the mafia meatball. Potato salad is good when it's freshly made, deserts are decent.. I give 4 stars only because the place is a little runned down and should be renovated but the bums outside are probably the reason why they havent.

Positive experience: This place is a little odd, but the sandwiches are pretty great. When you enter, it seems like you've come to the wrong place because the front half of the store is a mini-mart/liquor store that may be filled with scary characters depending on what time of day you're there. Just keep heading to the back, and right next to the travel office randomly situated inside, you'll find the deli counter. The sandwiches are delicious and a good size, and the club sandwiches are particularly massive. It's a popular place so you may want to order ahead.

Negative experience: If you don’t serve hot food past a certain time then put it up! Came in before kitchen closes and then they want to say oh we stopped serving hot food 14 minutes ago. Bad business

Negative experience: This place is ridiculous on their prices they charge $2.50 for one deviled egg no taste at all to the egg very bland my husband ordered the Philly cheese steak and they cut a hole in the bun and fill it up with meat but it's only halfway filled ridiculous!! customer service bad!!

Negative experience: I been here many times before but I think there getting go big they forget to value there work. It's getting more and more expensive $42 for two sandwiches is crazy. The mobster lobster was definitely not on point and the fact that they didn't give us lemon throws the flavor off completely. For the true best subs out here I rather stick to Cheba Hut in Riverside. I won't be coming back.

Negative experience: I usually love love love green shack,but I noticed a different crew and all the old faces are gone,so is the quality of the food,no more simply chicken salad sandwich, now no more mobster lobster and my last straw was the potato salad doesnt taste good anymore,I dont know what happened but it's becoming just a sandwhich shop now ...the prices were worth it ...not now tho...my heart kinda breaks for them now.

The very 1st time I had a sandwich here I had to phone home! I bragged so hard! They didn't really believe me until I took them to the Green Shack! When we got back home and they took their first bite... I saw the looks in their eyes and then... Their eyes hid as if they had an O.B.E lol. They ordered another the next day! Negative experience: This place was horrible! It took 16 minutes for them to start making the sandwich. I watched the worker just having a conversation with her co worker. While I stood there in disbelief. So I finally got my 16 dollar sandwich. I got the Italian job. Three meat sandwich which literally had 3 pieces of meat! SMH

Fantastic experience: This place is a jack of all trades. They make the best sandwiches, you can plan your vacation, put in/receive money orders, and a bunch of other services all in one place. My ex Momo introduced me to this place and I will be forever grateful knowing about this San Bernardino gem. My all time favorite sandwich is the Italian Job. It's just as good if not better than Saverino's in Redlands. The wait time is a little longer than I'd like, but it's more than worth it.

Negative experience: We used to come here a lot since some of the food is good but not anymore after today. We spent $65 and were missing one sandwich and the BLT was just bacon and bread. Called and the manager was incredibly rude, refused to remake the BLT and blamed us for not clicking the lettuce and tomato buttons online. It seemed redundant to add lettuce and tomato to a BLT.

Negative experience: I like to get the pastrami sandwich called "The Joker"- it is really good! But...it was disappointing!! We spent $52.70 and didn't get all of what we ordered!! Plus, my Diet Coke tasted strange!! I wonder if they ever clean the soda fountain nozzles... After waiting already close to an hour for our meals, we didn't feel like waiting another hour for them to get the order right!! They may not miss my business, but it will be a long time if ever that I go back....

Positive experience: I love The Green Shack! Not only is the food delish, the people are awesome and very friendly. It's a bit of a drive from my house and there is always a wait (whether you order ahead or not) but worth it!

Positive experience: I have been eating here for years but yesterday was not a good experience at all. My order just wasn't right. Was suppose to have avocado bacon spinach neither of the 2 philly cheese was cheese less asked for no mustard/lettuce got it anyway. Was just too hungry and tired after waiting for an hour

Negative experience: Used to love coming here, not so much now. Ordered online for pickup. Waited a combined 45 minutes, then went in and was told 5 more minutes. One employee was rude, and said they were very busy, however there was no one in the line and no one making sandwiches. Can't get a refund for online orders and they say that they cannot cancel the order. If I could give 0 stars I would, extremely poor service and attitude. Building is falling apart and homeless people harassing customers in front of the building and deficating in the back.

Positive experience: Ehh waited 30 mins then went to pick up had to wait an additional 15mins for food.... bacon was super thin ...it was a BLT so that sucked. Sourdough bread barely toasted. I will try another sandwich as they look to be a popular resturant so I'm sure it gets better

Negative experience: Came in today got 2 subs One blt Asked for it toasted and with olives Alex(manager) didnt hear me about the olives but forgot to toast my sub so it was cold .. I called about it and he asked me if i could bring in my sandwich too be warmed up and he would add olives!! Even tho i took a bite and left the store!! All during the covid19 pandemic (EDIT: Just came in for a sub 9/5/2020 asked for it toasted says it on my receipt and AGAIN my sub is not toasted Please greenshack i love yall fix this!!

Negative experience: It's much faster when you order ahead, otherwise it's a 15 to 20 minute wait. Well this was apparently a one time thing, the last time I tried ordering by phone I was passed on to there different people before someone would talk my order and when I got there 20 minutes later I still had to wait 15 minutes for my order. Not going back anytime soon. A year later and still a 20 minute wait while employees are on cell phones showing each other stuff the latest pictures.

Negative experience: Not tasty.. basic bread... basic meat ... basic everything... And a system of inefficiencies. Very unimpressed. I was REALLY looking forward to a great sandwich... Complete upset. And the bacon is the same quality you get on really low level fast food restaurants... Treat others how you want to be treated. I only give 2 stars because one is heartless.

Fantastic experience: Years ago I used to pay my utility bills here but never had their deli sandwiches until recently (they were sooo bomb).

Negative experience: This was my first and last time here. Me and my Mom decided to try this place because I follow them on Instagram and the food always looks great. We noticed right away the the employees were more concerned about talking to each other than focusing on getting the orders made. Not only did they let our food set for about 15 minutes but, kept us waiting 30. When I went to speak to the cashier (who was very nice and tried his best to assist me), I was verbally assaulted by one of the customers who assumed I was "cutting the line". There was grill residue all on our sandwiches and they honestly were not that great. I was really looking forward to trying them out but, they really let me down.

Negative experience: Took over 30 mins to get three subs, walked up to counter saw one sub siting for a good 10 mins then when all were done meatball sub the meatballs were cold and underdone.. needless to say never going back and definitely NOT recommending the place.

Positive experience: If you ever are on a doordash this is the worst place to wait. Customers who walk in het their order before you do. My scheduled pick up is now 15min late. Also I must order extra meat next time as my pastrami sandwiches mostly bread. Sandwiches are too expensive to be so cheap with the meat

Positive experience: I love Green Shack sandwiches and ate there once or twice a month until I moved from the area. I just went again today since I happened to be close by and soon was reminded of the only thing I HATE about going there. The food is great but good lord they take forever. After I waited almost half an hour for one sandwich, I waited another ten just to ask for a refund just to be told they finally started it. They made it wrong so I had to wait again, but at least they gave me both sandwiches so I had one to take home. They should probably hire another person to make it go faster.

Fantastic experience: Best Sandwiches in the Inland Empire! My dad brought me one of their sandwiches and I was impressed. I admit I was a little skeptical to go especially since he said it was inside of a liquor store. I’m glad I did try eventually visit. They’ve got a wide variety of items on the menu from a lobster roll to a monte Cristo sandwich. I’ve only tried a fraction of the items on the menu and every single thing I have ordered has been fantastic. I can’t wait to try more items on the menu. There will be a bit of a wait but it is well worth it. You must try this place !
