Fantastic experience: No waiting in line is the best thing ever!

Fantastic experience: My Husband and I had the pleasure of meeting with Natasha Gaget to assist us in our travel plans. The variety of options she shared after listening to ALL of our information was helpful, eye opening and, gave us an opportunity for other options too. She will always be our go to person for travel in the future.

Fantastic experience: Got an international drivers permit within 15 minutes

Negative experience: one time I move from California to North carolina I had a accident over here they had a recall on the steering calum then down the 20 feet down the bankment all most hit a big tree but didnt and hit a lot of small tree the hole side of the car was total out my son was with me to h he was so scare and me we walk away from it up the hill we had the law there and the fire truck god was with us me and my son god bless thank you .

Negative experience: It been 3 full weeks since AAA disabled my truck and left me abandoned. I purchased a new AAA battery & when the bumbling tech installed it, he turned on the trucks anti-theft. Now the truck won't start. The dashboard lights stay on, so the brand-new battery sits dead. Angelos's towing, who did this, towed it to their shop for 5 days and did nothing but leave my window down & rummage through the back of my truck. I've waited 4+ hours for techs, sat on hold forever, and been transferred and past to every employee. NO ONE CARES... I have been a member for many years. I have 3 vehicles insured with AAA. I will be finding a new insurance carrier asap. Then they promised me a free upgrade, see pic. And they took it away after they killed my car. So, I'm stuck in the middle nowhere with a truck that won't start. My new AAA battery is dead so I can't work on it. Good Times I'm paying AAA insurance for a dead truck that's been sitting 3 weeks. A truck disabled by AAA. AAA says I'm on my own. Buyer beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Negative experience: This place is so rude I will never go back to this location again.

Negative experience: Very confusing when you walk in as to where to go for what service you need. I wasn’t the only one, as several people who arrived after me had the same issue. There were two people who looked right at me and didn’t offer to help with directions. Only after I interrupted did they send me to one of the people who ignored me. I am here in person because leaving multiple messages got me nowhere. The office is clean though.

Fantastic experience: Besides insurance and travel AAA continues to be my go to for all sorts of DMV stuff....retitle, registration, replacement plates..etc

Negative experience: I went to this location to get my registration renewed. The transaction was completed without any problems. AAA was having a special for members with autorenewal in place. From the associate that was helping me, she mentioned 1 yr free for another person under my membership. I said okay and gave her a name and a birthdate. She entered the information on her computer, and before I knew it, the process was done, which I was glad because I was in a hurry. A couple of days later, I wanted to upgrade my membership from classic to plus. I went online to upgrade and found the following 1) The associate misspelled the name I've given her 2) She didn't put the correct birthdate 3) The offer was good for a couple of weeks! Very unhappy with how this was done. I'm taking my membership off autopay!

Negative experience: I went to aaa auto club at La mesa branch.for renew registration. for my friend. he was sick and ready for surgery. I do a favor to my friend . I took his vehicle for smog. and regrister for him.because tag expired. the younger guy . refused an services. he asked my friend phone number. he said my friend not aaa membership no services and he said I should go to DMV. I am with aaa insurance and membership for 8 years. I don't think I am going to renewal aaa insurance and memberships anymore. Other Insurance Co. offers free tow. and why I have to pay for aaa membership even thought at main DMV can help without your friend present. don't waste you monies with aaa they don't do the services if need

Negative experience: Just stopped in to add another car, On to my Insurance policy. The lady was so rude. I'm looking for another Insurance Company.

Fantastic experience: Always hesitant to do paperwork, but this was such a refreshing experience. Shawn helped me and was great, but everyone was kind & helpful. The expected wait was 45+ minutes, but I was done and out of there in 25.

Negative experience: was always a loyal member and never had a problem till last week when they went into my acct to take TWO payments instead of one... and now I have to wait for their ridiculous red tape almost ten days to have my money refunded!! Oh we're sorry that's our (BS) policy. this cause a lot of issue with my bank having b to wait for this refund ... I don't have money like that to have you come in my account and take it twice and. now I have to wait ... not a good practice AT ALL... very unhappy... people don't have your account on auto pay!!

Fantastic experience: I just found out I can skip DMV by using my AAA membership and get my renewal registration ! Went to the office location and in 5 min I was done !!! Аnd the stuff there was nice and helpful Always there for me - from no gas situation to registration ! Thank you AAA

Fantastic experience: Edit.....walked out angry, made a call to customer service then....I spoke to Isabel. She made me go from to this It only proved how AAA truly cares about their customers. She made me feel like a customer of 20 years even tho I'm new. From laughing at my dumb jokes to taking the time to finding a legitimate solution. A+ Employee. Not just saying it cause my wife has the same name, since I only like here a little

Fantastic experience: I am writing the review as someone who took the AAA driving course lesson at this location. My instructor was Walter Swann. Walter was very patient and kind and taught me a lot about driving in the one-hour lesson. Great experience. I would highly recommend him to any driving student!

Negative experience: High-decibel repair and construction work is regularly performed at this location during hours prohibited by city ordinances.

Negative experience: Calls go to voicemail, voicemail box is full and can't take any messages.

Fantastic experience: I like how you're in and out, fast! The membership is not cheap, but the service they provide makes up for it..

Negative experience: AAA WOULD NOT COVER A TOW TODAY FOR MY DAUGHTER'S TRUCK. BUT 2 WEEKS AGO THEY DID. MAKES NO SENSE HOW IT WAS OK 2 WEEKS AGO BUT NOT TODAY SAME TRUCK IS CALLED COMMERCIAL VEHICLE today but not 2 weeks ago. Tow company enters my daughter truck without permission. Wind N Sea towing rude. AAA should have looked at last tows and have some consistency.

Fantastic experience: Friendly service! Membership has many benefits including travel agents, maps for trips, multiple insurance options, and DMV services. The DMV services they offer are so convenient and almost solely worth the membership fee! I have saved so much time taking care of my DMV needs through them instead of waiting at a local DMV. The office is located on Fletcher Parkway at a light. There is plenty of parking available including handicap spaces.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed in Travel Service. Several calls, Agent not available at my appointment time. I would like to book travel. No follow up. Why is this so difficult?

Negative experience: 8:15am I called AAA for tow truck for my disabled car in city of LA Mesa, San Diego. Operator said within one hour. 9:15am I called back. They wouldn't take my call. I was on hold for one hour, and still AAA wouldn't take my call. Only recording said the tow truck at 10:20am. 10:25am I called AAA and they wouldn't take my call. 10:30am I logged in AAA app, it shows 12:20 PM pickup. I had to cancel it at this time. WHAT A GREAT SERVICE you didn't provide. Let's see if AAA General Manager at LA Mesa facility cares about these kind poor performances. I am a AAA Plus member. And I don't recommend it to anyone. THANK YOU AAA

Fantastic experience: Usually, obtaining a new registration, or getting an auto insurance policy is a HUGE hassle. Long lines at the DMV, often times rude DMV employees do nothing but add to the frustration. The AAA office in La Mesa is much different. The employees are all knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. They really seem to know what they're doing. As hectic as it can often be renewing a vehicle registration, obtaining or updating a life or auto insurance policy, AAA in La Mesa makes it that much easier. I would highly recommend this location!

Negative experience: Very Negligent! A semi hit my 2021 Nissan Rogue 3 months ago & broke the front panels. AAA still hasn’t done anything & wont return calls. I have been leaving messages and calling daily. They don’t care about fixing my car. I’ve been paying them faithfully for three years.

Fantastic experience: Busy facility but very capable. Take the small frontage road between the AAA building and Fletcher Parkway to get close to the entrance.

Negative experience: Twice I have called for DMV services and after waiting 5 minutes or so the phone begins to ring and just rang and rang for 20 - 30 minutes. Have been with AAA since 1994. Not good.

Fantastic experience: Monica Jones is amazing! So helpful and very knowledgeable. So glad I can to see her. Her service was exceptional Very friendly people.

Fantastic experience: Conveniently located near I-8, plenty of wheelchair-accessible parking. Great customer service.

Negative experience: my sister worked here for a few years and when i went back years later this place had us wait for almost an hour and when we were finally seen we were unable to get the help we needed.

Fantastic experience: We needed to change the name on our auto title and pay our registration, as soon as we walked in and were asked to take a seat, we were called so within 15 min we were out the door and the ladies were super nice. Great customer service for sure!

Fantastic experience: It is easy to find. They are friendly. We went on a Sat and used the DMV portion. It was fast and they were able to help us.

Fantastic experience: It was the best experience. Not only did they fix my issue but it all happen very fast. The tow truck driver to the agent I spoke with were all professional and curtious to me. I have met many people in this field and it's not always easy and to put a smile on and deal with customers who are not happy can be a tough job. But these folks were A+ in my book . Glad I got AAA for myself and happy with it.

Positive experience: I had wonderful service today. I walked in about 15 minutes before closing and was out the door shortly after they closed! You never would have known by the employees demeanor that I showed up right before closing!

Negative experience: 0 stars. Woman at front laughed in my face and got an attitude when I asked why she’s laughing. Worst office ever. 10 people standing around doing nothing…

Fantastic experience: Great place, very friendly informative, patient staff I came here to register my car. Within 30 minutes I was helped and on my way. Way better than the all day wait @ DMV. Super awesome, for all your DMV paper work, notary, travel needs maps,etc. I've been a member for over 40 + years. Well worth the yearly fee.

Fantastic experience: Signed up for road side services and found out I liked there renters insurance too. Then I noticed they had some info on Costa Rica, I mentioned it to the agent Chris helping me and another agent from the travel department also named Chris came by to say hello while I was waiting to pay my registration and get my tags. Had a nice chat with him and enjoyed my entire experience. Oh..they do not take debit cards for payment on registration. They will take credit cards and checks. I went back with the correct payment type and had wonderful service this time from Lucy. If you are lucky enough to live near this location, don't hesitate to go.

Fantastic experience: Used AAA to complete some DMV documents on the sale of a vehicle. Started at the San Marcos AAA got great direction from a wonderful staff on the documents needed. I had to go to the La Mesa AAA with the buyer and again a great staff who took the time to help and were very knowledgeable.

Positive experience: Was able to go in and get my permanent placard same day. They were efficient considering there was a bit of a line but they moved us along quite nicely no having to go to dmv or waiting to get my placard by mail?

Fantastic experience: It was a little bit of a wait in a line that stretched down the sides of building, but it moved pretty fast, with covid, its still way faster than the DMV would have been, I love having AAA for all my needs they're the best

Fantastic experience: Line outside to keep the number of people down inside but it goes by quickly.. You have to call in advance to set up an appointment for the Notary, figured that out when I got the and asked one of the workers outside. Super helpful staff and clean. Notary was $10 per signature.

Negative experience: Governor opens state for business but AAA shows bad business practice to disabled customers. Won't let my husband and I come in out of the cold to conduct business. Only one at a time allowed! We are disabled but a perfectly able bodied couple walks right in. Something is rotten at AAA!

Fantastic experience: Stuck on the freeway and scared, AAA had a tow truck to me in less than 30 minutes and I was very grateful.

Negative experience: No organization , rude woman that was directing customers was very curt and condescending. Older clients were subjected to standing outside in ridiculously long lines without chairs. Should have just went to the DMV!

Positive experience: There was a line, actually 2 lines, one for DMV and a second for auto insurance. But those who were at the back didn't know this, until someone came outside and announced it. Poor efficiency and organization, didn't needed to wait longer, if signs were posted at the back of the line.

Fantastic experience: Had to wait in a line outside socially distanced. They screen you in line and only allow a few people inside at a time. Took me about an hour from arrival to complete my business.

Fantastic experience: So nice that they are physically open. Did have to queue up in a line outside only allowing a few customers in at a time. But one lady did come through the line grab all registration renewal went in and processed all at once. Super great.

Fantastic experience: This was the first time I renewed my tags through AAA. I was greeted by very friendly staff and was in and out within 3 minutes. Covid safe.... line up outside (line moves fast), in one door and exit another.

Negative experience: Ok, to start off, I was driving down the freeway and a rock flew out of a Ford truck's tire and hit my windshield. No big deal., until I stopped at the store. When I came out of the store I saw the crack in my windshield. i have full coverage for my car, my motorcycle, roadside assistance, motorcycle roadside assistance and renters insurance. So I call AAA to see what they can do for me. they want a $500.00 deductible. This is the second time that AAA did nothing for me. Why am I paying them all this money when they CAN'T help me? They didn't even offer me a place that gives AAA discounts. In this time of need through out the country, they should of at least give me a list of places that change windshields. I am HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED, yet AGAIN. TIME TO FIND ANOTHER INSURANCE COMPANY. I will call AIS and see what they can do for me. I did find a place that charged me $235.00. Over half below my deductible.

Fantastic experience: AAA was awesome, they transferred the title for my new truck from the old owner to me in 10 minutes. Then they added it to my policy and removed my old vehicle off of the policy, yaaaaaaay.

Positive experience: Awesome customer service. I use them to register all my vehicles, I'm in and out in a less than 10 minutes most of the time.

Fantastic experience: I renewed my automobile registration and was in and out in 10 minutes. Good and courteous service.

Positive experience: Having 2 lines was confusing people. There was actually a shouting match with people inside and outside. Inside was very different. My seat was 6 feet away from the person helping me making it difficult to hear through the plastic partition. The 2 people next to me had their chairs right up to the partition and no issue hearing. I guess it's the worker's preference on how they want to handle it. Communication outside could have been better to prevent confusion.

Fantastic experience: Simon Leader in the travel department is really great! Very professional, friendly, and really listens to what it is I need. He gets it right the first time, knows what he's doing and always saves me a ton of money. Whether I'm renting a car or booking hotel rooms Simon is the person I always go to at AAA office. Fantastic experience: Outstanding service. I'm sure AAA runs into every condition for DMV one can imagine! Mine was just as corky today as I own older car that I don't drive much and now the computer has shut off saying I can't get it smogged unless I drive a certain driving pattern. It's a Corvette and to try to meet the driving pattern is very unsafe in my opinion. Anyway, the assistant at AAA was terrifically helpful and work to save me some money and get the best fee possible for the conditions we were facing. Truly grateful for their service.
