Negative experience: WARN WARN WARN WTH… maids speak Spanish talk shit about something ABOUT dirty TOWEL. maid speak Spanish complain about it. Told other Spanish maid I glad my daughter knows Spanish translate she speak Spanish. Maid puzzle she knows Spanish SMH SMH at maids (((REALLY very rude))) Karma will chew bite no matter what period. Otherwise maids clean good job. Need to stop swear talk shit! Respect others ppl dont know any Spanish speak if you want to communicate pkease speak english you work a job as america job. Negative experience: Disgusting. Roaches. Worms on bedding. Filthy. Towels are stained as though used to clean tires. One roll of toilet paper every other day. My friend is housed here due to homelessness. But this place is nothing as advertised in Google. Mgmnt is rude and abusive. This place should be tented and bombed with repellent.

Positive experience: Hotel voucher brought me here. And it's lit to say the least. Not recommended for tourist or families out of town. It's mainly lived in by San Diegos homeless population. And isn't quite that comfy hotel stay you'd be looking for.

Negative experience: We had a concert in San Diego, reserved a room A MONTH in advance only to find out our reservation had been cancelled!! I never received a call or anything regarding the cancellation. Worst experience ever, and worst customer service!!! I would definitely rate it ZERO stars but thats not possible, so i give it a one.

Negative experience: Front desk have no real customer service ethics, extremely shady place.. to top it off. My room was infested with roaches. I understand one, two, maybe a few roaches in hotels. I killed over 16 roaches and saw way more than that.. not exaggerating, for the prices y’all are charging.. should at least bomb your rooms

Negative experience: The pictures make it look waaay nicer than it is. When we arrived there was a couple having a domestic dispute outside. Our room was right over the office and it had the most horrible smell. I've never smelled such a foul hotel room before. We asked to move rooms and were told it was fully booked. We ended up getting a last minute room at Town and Country and checked out about 30 minutes after arrival. We still had the stench in our noses an hour after leaving that place. All these positive reviews must be bots or paid reviews. Do yourself a favor and book any place but here

Fantastic experience: Honestly this place made me feel like I was just at home as some cguy. TV was in a neat spot for falling asleep, couple pieces of furniture, the bed was really soft and easy to skip alarms in, and the bathroom had some cool renovations such as lighting. The floor space for the entire room was amazing, it felt like the whole room that I had rented was an entire apartment. I honestly would stay here again if I needed to spend another night in San Diego. The transit station is only a 15 minute walk away.

Negative experience: Got a room last minute on July 4. When we arrived to the hotel they took a copy of my drivers license. This was a little strange to me why would they need that? Then when we got to our room it wasn’t clean. There was food or something on the mattress cover. Then we checked around the room the tube looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. There was sand and burn marks in the tube. Went down stairs to see if they had different room. The front desk told me they were fully booked. I then asked if someone could then clean the room. He told me no one was available to do that. I then asked for my money back. He told me he couldn’t do that. Wait what? No body can clean the room and they can’t give me my money back? I tried keeping my cool and asked him to right that down on my receipt. Then asked him when a manager would be in. Had to go find a clean hotel somewhere else. I came in to speak with the manager the next day. The manager Chris asked me what was wrong with the room. I explained everything and then he started raising his voice. There was nothing wrong with your room and the tub is stand we can’t clean that off. I was shocked because I didn’t come in demanding my money back I came in to see what they could do. Once he raised his voice I explained to him that I came in there very peacefully. He then asked what would I like for him to do. I explained I would like my money back since we did not even stay there. He got my information and said he would contact me after he contacted corporate. I have yet heard anything back from him. I just called and left a message for him to give me a call back. I’m sure I won’t get a call.

Fantastic experience: Staff are great! Thank you Leo for all your help! I loved the pool! It may be cloudy and gloomy at the beach but it is sunny at Hotel Iris! The hot water in the shower was so great! We had a great stay. This is very conveniently located next to the I-8 freeway near the Hwy 163 interchange. I love independently owned hotels. It had a real vintage vibe. We had a great room that was facing the pool, so beautiful!

Negative experience: I stay for 1day. I booked my hotel to thirdparty. I deposit the $100 then plus fee $8. My deposit showing purchased. they never give my deposit $100. Negative experience: Front desk young chubby Mexican lady is one of the rudest and unhappy l people I have ever experienced staying at a hotel. I don't know why she has such a bad attitude or why she thinks she's above everybody but someone needs to give her a reality check and let her know that shes replaceable and you can teach a retarded monkey to do what she does. She has a chip on her shoulder and takes it out on the guest, she doesn't smile and I witnessed her mistreat several people. She needs an attitude adjustment and if she wasn't a female I would have let her know myself where she stands, just flat out unaccommodating and it's crazy how shes able to stay employed there. Negative experience: When I checked in the room was dirty the microwave had a broken turntable and rust all inside of it and the bathroom sink was crooked and falling off the wall and held on with gate latches. There are also bugs that they don't want to address. Very unprofessional and not worth what they charge plus very rude when talked to about room. And if your handicap good luck getting around with there maintenance parking in the hash area to get in and out. Will never go here again or recommend it.......

Negative experience: Stay away. Shady liars and thieves. Booked online with a third-party. Hotel refused to accept my card because the guest is different. I've booked many hotels for different guests with my card. Matt put me on hold when I called about this until, you guessed it, the time extended long enough that I couldn't book the same night elsewhere for that guest. So now I have to do an early check-in cost elsewhere. Oh, and they have a cancellation policy even though my card "hasn't been charged" when I spoke with Matt. Which was the leg they were trying to stand on when they refused the guest.

Negative experience: Criminals. Over the phone they said it was $70+ a night. When I check out, they charged $89 + $26 tax. Next to highway so it's noisy. Ac is noisy. Stay away. Housekeeping entering the room even if it says do not disturb. TV turns on randomly. Faucet doesn't close properly. Toilet doesn't stop refilling. Don't stay here

Fantastic experience: The staff here are GREAT during the days especially. They are available 24 hours and usual have towels and basic necessities in the office should you need any. The rooms are a good size and have a mini fridge and microwave. Biggest issue I have is a lack of surface/drawer space. I have a room with 2 queen beds and nowhere put clothes or daily use items. There is a small vanity and A singular nightstand with a total of three drawers. The vanity Contains virtually no counter surface and there are two small runner tables. But overall can't beat three service and the property is in a great location.

Negative experience: I just left hotel and we will never come back here and no recommended at all ! Booked 3 days and when I check in front desk guy was so rude no smile,no welcome nothing then when we got room smell so bad so I told my husband that I wanna cancel room and get different hotel but he didn't want to process etc so we stayed...good thing is one housekeeping lady was nice :) when I leave I thought get $100 cash deposit back but they charged to my card ! Negative experience: I would give 0 stars if that were an option. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! NEVER go to this place. When we checked in, the room had a foul smell, lights weren’t working, none of the charging points were working and the bathroom was absolutely dirty with stains. The whole carpet was dusty. We got a room change. That room was worst. Absolute worst!! I wanted to puke at the smell. It was very stinky. We were disgusted to such an extent that we booked another hotel and just left. The main desk person Teja is the most unhelpful person who doesn’t respond at all. Whatever you ask, he doesn’t respond. I don’t think this hotel complied with any policy at all. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!!

Negative experience: Hotel accused me of stealing towels due to the towels being extremely soiled from having to be put on the floor bc the floor continuously got soaking wet from the jacuzzi or shower running. The saturated wet towels were definitely left in the room yet I received a $60 charge out of no where 3 days later they even released my security deposit just to turn around to charge $60, I called the office they barely answer and they did not try to check and confirm the accusation via camera I will be filing many disputes and possibly starting small claims case due to their false charges and false accusations

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Iris, walking/short drive distance from eatery, convince stores and dog beach. We never had issues with our room nor any other area outside the hotel. We will have to revisit and enjoy the ambiance again. Keep up the fantastic job and see ya next spring break. Fantastic experience: Hi everyone I am currently staying here at the Iris hotel and I absolutely love it here. first and foremost ALL OF THE EMPLOYEES ARE AWESOME ! They are super friendly and make you feel welcome . They have a great crew that comunicates5 with each other and works together as a team to maintain and keep the hotel as perfect as it and running smoothly on a daily basis. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and the Iris hotel is by far my most favorite one of all . It is very quiet here there's no drama, the property is very clean and i love my room . the bed is very comfortable the room is big very clean and up to date . and there is not one BUG or insect at all . the housekeepers work extremely hard . i love those ladies they always have a smile on their face and are very friendly as well . The Maintenance man that works there is also awesome he works very hard and he is a sweetheart . if there is a problem big or small his right there taking care of the issue immediately. the grounds keeper does an amazing job keeping the property clean and looking pretty and the pool is so sparkling clean and very inviting. the front desk agents are awesome no matter what the situation they are always very friendly and very professional and make u feel welcome at all times . everyone goes above and beyond there to make sure that the guest are taken care of and they get what they need no matter the time of day or night . I highly recommend this hotel ! like I said I have stayed at many hotels I even have worked at 2 hotels and non of them can compare to the iris . I can go on and on with this review but I must stop now . hope this was helpful to all that read this .

Negative experience: Made a reservation through Hopper months ago. It was confirmed and charged. Showed up to check in today and was told in a rather unpleasant manner that they do not have my reservation and they no longer work with Hopper. Hopper had to work with them to get me a refund because they still charged me. Would not recommend. Also looked sketchy.

Fantastic experience: The Iris is a quaint and centrally located hotel located on Hotel Circle. This small budget oriented property is a true gem with three two story buildings and a sparkling pool comprising the property. Room choices vary from a single queen to a studio so there are size options for almost any family. Parking is a surface lot and during my stay I was always able to find parking. I was also happy to find laundry facilities on site. Matt and team at the front desk made check in an easy and effortless process.

Negative experience: We stayed at this hotel while in town for Comic Con! I usually rate based on pros and cons. I don’t think I would ever stay here again but that’s my preference because I get skeeved out very quickly. Don’t like bugs!! Don’t care in what form. I’m also sensitive to smells and the place smelled really nasty. Pros- Close to airport, convention center via free shuttle, Uber or rental. Close to most downtown areas, close to Coronado Beach. Cons-Dirty, no housekeeping service. Rooms smell like cigarette. The first room we stayed at had a lot of gnats and flies. Bathroom was moldy. Carpet was stained. Just a little too gross for me. Second room was a little better but still pretty dusty and dirty. We had to buy our own cleaning supplies and Febreeze to tolerate our stay. Furniture had scratch marks and holes. Curtains were dirty and stained. You have to go to the office to request clean towels, toilet tissue etc. first night we arrived security was escorting a homeless man off the premise. I definitely didn’t feel safe going outside alone at night. Although I wouldn’t recommend a stay here, I will say staff was very pleasant.

Positive experience: The furniture can definitely use an overhaul. Most of it is old and broken. Pluses is that the room had a working fridge and microwave and although I didn't have time to try the pool it was open and clean. Good drainage in the shower and sink. Notes - you can't keep the door key card next to anything else or else it will get demagnatized and not work. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Also note that even though you pay to reserve the room in advance they do not actually charge the card until the day of your arrival so if you reserved the room with a different card than the one you intend to use call ahead the day of check-in or else your reservation may get canceled. Overall it was a pleasant stay. Had no issues with noise, bugs, or mold. You cannot walk anywhere from the hotels location because it is surrounded by highways. You'll have to take a taxi/cab. The price when searched is normally good, but for the weekend of my stay they jacked up the price because of the convention in town - totally not cool because the place is definitely NOT worth approx. $180 per night.

Negative experience: Front desk manager is a Toad! He had an attitude because he couldn't charge me for my ESA. Thought he needed to tell me the difference between that and a service animal. When I called him out on it, he gave me the filthiest room in the joint. Black, sticky carpet with cigarette burns all over. Shower head didn't work. Threadbare linen. NO PHONE!! Room smelled like MOLD. Faulty television mounted improperly. Just the filthiest place I've ever stayed. I will NEVER go back.

Positive experience: Stayed in 2 different rooms (1 with 2 beds and then upgraded to 3 beds) and both were great especially for price. As for customer service they were nice but didn’t have extra blankets and 1st night they purposely put us next to our 2nd night stay room with 3 beds and said we can do early check in depending on when the previous people leave. We saw the people with our next room leave and our room finished getting cleaned around 10-10:30 and we wanted to check in around 11 something because the guy from night before said we could move our stuff down the hall easily. The lady said the room isn’t checked out yet even tho we saw the people leave and the room get cleaned and said we can’t move our stuff until cleaning lady says it’s been cleaned which can either take 10 min-1 hour. I asked if we could do late check out until our room was ready and they said no so we had to move our stuff back into the car and then back upstairs later that night. The room with 3 beds also smelled a little boxed up maybe from the carpet and the AC was annoying right on top of one of the beds. Otherwise, everything else worked great - TV, beds comfortable, fridge, and hot water.

Negative experience: The furniture is old, bed is creaky. Cleaning is horrible. Stains everywhere. No dishes available for eating and cooking. Sinks have draining issues and smell sewage. Parking lots are extremely narrow, found new scratches on my car in the morning.

Negative experience: Be very cautious, the rooms are dirty, have stained floors, smelly from must-water damage, and very outdated. They advertise an absolute no-refund policy because most people will want to be refunded when seeing their room.

Fantastic experience: Hello world!!! I’m known as “mom”in the Coachella Valley I’d like to share with you about Sandy (manager) and Leo (night staff) are very accommodating in making sure your stay at the Iris Hotel is a pleasant experience. The hot tub works if you know how to operate a hot tub properly ( don’t blame the Iris for ur lack of training…) There isn’t anything weird or unacceptable at the Iris hotel I was very glad to have been able to stay and review the place as I speak to a lot of folks that need places to stay. Sometimes, folks leave reviews due to something that has nothing to do with the place example: They want a credit therefore they create a scenario to gain that credit There are numerous reasons folks choose to do the things they do but to try and bring others down instead of build them up or offer positive constructive criticism seems like just a waste of time, appears heated and never comes off in the way the one complaining is intending especially when the one complaining isn’t out trying to operate a business in 2023 where all business could use support. I’m just saying instead of looking to the negative look to the positive and maybe just maybe this world will still has a chance…… Peace n stay safe!!

Fantastic experience: Don't go off the past reviews on here. I needed a one night stay 12 mins away from the gaslamp district. This was perfect for us we got the jetted tub room totally worth the few extra $ we enjoyed our stay place was clean everything worked fine.

Negative experience: The girl with the red hair at the front desk is absolutely the worst human I've ever seen. Not only is she rude to customers she also abuses her children. I saw her smack her child in the face so hard it knocked their drink out of their hands. I hope she gets caught by the police!!! Then after the poor excuse of a person said we cant have towels to shower I woke up to police and a gun stand off with another guest!! Steer clear!!!!

Negative experience: My recent stay at Hotel Iris was a complete disaster. Upon arriving in my room, I was immediately disgusted to discover yellow and red stains on the mattress protector and stains on the carpet (see photos). Over the phone, they assured me that ALL the rooms have been updated to the picture on the website. I immediately reported this to the front desk, and while they did send housekeeping to change the sheets, the room was still dirty. / When I lifted the headboard, I found large dust clumps and even a lollipop stick. It was clear that the room had not been cleaned properly, and this was unacceptable. / To make matters worse, when I decided to leave and stay at another hotel, the front desk refused to issue me a refund for the first night. We’ve been occupying the room for only a few hours. It appears that since I made my reservation through a third-party platform, I was informed that any cancellations or refunds needed to be processed through that same platform. This policy seems unfair and unreasonable, especially given the poor quality of my stay at the hotel. / I also noticed that other Google reviews have mentioned the same issues with cleanliness, which confirms that this is an ongoing problem at Hotel Iris despite their responses that they would improve. I strongly discourage anyone from staying at this hotel, as it is evident that the quality of the accommodations and services offered do not justify the cost, even if they are running any discounts or promotions.

Negative experience: Hotel iris is the worst hotel in San Diego, worse than a motel 6. The rooms were extremely dirty and raggedy not worth the price at all. Water leaking all over the floor. The hotel staff didn’t make it clear what time we had to check out the next day. Then the owner/manager got mad and made it act like we were inconveniencing him, because him and his staff didn’t know what time check out was, so we weren’t ready. The owner or manager( an Indian man) was very dismissive when I tried to tell him we didn’t know the check out time because it wasn’t made clear to us. We have to young children, who were with us. There are no signs or papers in the room. The phone didn’t work so I couldn’t call the front desk and ask them. And the staff member should’ve made it known during check in. Do not go to this hotel, it’s not worth the money, the time, or bad experience. If I could rate it 0 stars I would. I had a better experience and better customer service at a motel 6 than I did here.

Negative experience: Thought by looking at the photo it would be a nice place to stay for the one night get some rest wake up anjoy our family trip. But didn't have the best sleep of my life had the people in the room next to me yelling, slamming doors coming in and out of their room asking were to get weed my kids couldn't sleep my wife couldn't sleep I couldn't sleep. Not just that but I just walked up to the office just to confirm that I won't get charged for any of the things that is already damaged so let's see what happens I'll be checking if my money goes back or not.

Negative experience: This Hotel is so bad we literally checked in and checked out! No joke the first room they gave us smelled like smoke, it had stains on the floor and had not been cleaned. They put us in another room and there was a live bug on the bed, stains on the floor, and the list goes on and on. It was so gross!! It seriously seams like some shady stuff is going on here. I hope the owners take care of this because it’s honestly one of the worst I’ve seen.

Negative experience: Avoid at all costs. AVOID or beware! Sleezy hotel with horrible & rude staff and gross accommodations. Myself (& others) were charged late fees even though I had called to front desk to tell them I’d be out in ten minutes (due to medical condition that was exasperated by the dirtiness of the room) they still charged $25 late fee and nobody told us that there was an early 11am checkout time. When I checked out the front desk person was arguing with another room that didn’t know about the late checkout time, so adding on this fee is prob part of their business practices.

Positive experience: The rooms were not Terrible. We had a very clean room. One mattress was really great the other was extremely sagged and extremely uncomfortable. The room itself was clean and tidy. The service was really great very friendly people and the location was about a 20 minute walk from a fashion mall.

Negative experience: The room was a little damp and smelly, no ceiling light, no mini fridge, no microwave, no chairs. I had to call the reception office to ask for a chair and they brought their own office chair!! Location is good, rooms are spacious, beds are mediocre. Would not stay here again.

Negative experience: NO STARS TO GIVE!!!! So many wrongs. First, My daughter and I stayed here, in room 103, for her birthday weekend and left with bed bug bites. Second, Housekeeping never took our trash or gave us toilet paper or towels when asked. Third, I called told the lady in the office about the roaches and possible bed bugs (I have video of the roaches) she had an attitude. Fourth, the next morning we check out, I asked if there was a manager there, no. Then I asked when I should expect my deposit since it still showed pending, and was told 5 to 7 days. Okay cool. Today made 13 days since check out. I call and now I am told there was smoking in the room The room already smelled like cigarettes upon our arrival along with burns in the tub and bed sheets. I wish I could sue for be falsely accused and for the bedbug bites my 8 year old and I have

Negative experience: I normally don't write reviews. However, I felt compelled to do so. My mind/thoughts are all over the place so I hope this makes sense. I don't like nor stay in motels. I don't know why they call this place a hotel. It is straight up a motel. Rooms are accessed from the outside, not the inside. I read the reviews and was terrified to use this hotel. I was coming for a funeral and knew I wouldn't be spending a lot of time there. Anyway, I saw the pictures and felt better. However, the pictures were way better than what really was. Looks like they did some staging. Positive first: No matter what hotel I stay in I always do my own disinfecting (bathroom, sink, door handles, remote, dresser, etc). My room room was clean. No dirt was on the disinfectant wipe. My bed was amazing. I sleep on a waterbed (yes, still in 2023) and it is difficult for me to sleep in a regular bed due to sleeping on waterbed. There was a new sink and drawer combo. Now for the negatives: The tub had tape on it where you stand the most, the refrigerator was old and had rust spots on the outside bottom, the ironing board had stains and needed replacing. I kept my eyes open for the roaches I saw in other reviews. I thought I escaped but I didn't. I saw either the same one or 2-3. I went to the office (which does not look like the picture) and stated they couldn't do any spraying because it was too strong for someone to remain in the room. I already did my disinfecting so I wasn't moving. I wish I would have. Anyway, one of the bulbs blew and I reported it no one ever showed (2 days), the remote didn't have a back cover, the bass boards need replacing or scraped then repainted, the table was old looking. Would I stay here again? The answer is a strong NO! I went home feeling really dirty. I came home cleaned my house, my clothes that I took and my self. But I still feel dirty. If you like motel's you will be ok. But I don't! and won't ever again!!!!!!!!!

Positive experience: We were scared because of all the negative reviews on this hotel. Front desk was curious and let us check ib a couple of hours early. We entered our room expecting the worse but we were presently surprised. The room was clean and smelled good like one would expect in a hotel. There was no unexpected guests in the room. We could tell lots of remodeling was done recently and they were still working on some of it

Negative experience: First, front desk is gross. They pictures does not show it any justice. My sheets were stained with yellow stuff. I pulled back the sheets and crumbs everywhere. Bathroom had bugs crawling everywhere. Do not stay here

Negative experience: It doesn’t even deserve a star, I went to that hotel and I had a reservation for a week... when we arrived we realized that the bathroom was not clean but I didn’t make any complaints, I just cleaned it myself, on the first night we found bedbugs. We went to the reception at 1 in the morning and they sent us to another room saying that the next morning they would clean the first room and put us back in that one because they didn’t have more rooms available for the whole week, I never agreed because I know that the bedbugs don’t leave just by cleaning one day. We spent the night in the other one that was offered to us because where else we were going to go at 1 in the morning. At 8 in the morning we went to the reception to ask what they solved and the receptionist was VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL, saying that her coworker had said that “We didn’t have any problems, the ONLY thing was that the room had cockroaches in the room” as if that were also normal. At the she didn’t help us and don’t give us any solution, she just said that they didn’t have a room for us and they left us on the street. When we paid for the reservation it cost 140 for each night but we called booking to ask for full refound but it was denied because the hotel did not want to do it, saying that WE STAYED THE NIGHT ANYWAYS so we had to pay, they refound the other nights but we ended up paying 260 dollars for the worst night in the WORST HOTEL that I have ever stayed. Legacy hotel saved our vacations.

Negative experience: It has comfortable bed, but it's only good for a night to crash. The rest is pretty outdated and needs improvement such as the bath tub. I would say stay at holiday Inn next door if u want a comfy stay.

Negative experience: Horrible experience and customer service. We (mom and 2 small children) checked in and almost immediately, the men next door were arguing. After a couple hours they became more violent. They began fighting and screaming. They broke bottles and were so intense. My children and I ended up on the floor. We called security and them 911. One of the men fled by car and 15+ police cars came and a helicopter. My family was traumatized. We were escorted out by police. The hotel charged us for the nights stay and refused to refund. DONT COME HERE. Also the Manager is never on site. I went in at 730, then called 5 times between 8am and 1pm. Still no response. Priceline said hotel won't refund.

Negative experience: The floors and bathroom were filthy, there were bugs crawling everywhere, and housekeeping was loud and obnoxious early every morning. We had a completely bare kitchenette so no point in paying the extra after all. Everything is old and needs an update. Very disappointed!

Negative experience: Of i could i would give 0 stars. No one should be allowed to stay in this hotel it should close. the rooms are terrible and everywhere are stains not even the bed linen was washed after the previous customer. We wanted to stay for 6 nights but fled the hotel after 10 minutes. after over 5 weeks we are still trying to get our money back it is outrageous.

Negative experience: Hotel Iris is a joke. My friends and I planned a trip to San Diego and they booked at hotel Iris, we decided to stay here as well so we could all be close together. The day of the trip comes and I check in and as soon as I check in our friends call us to tell us there was no way in hell they were staying there. I think to myself, “how bad could it be…” so I continue to the room and right away the smell of mold. I proceed to check the mattress and I don’t even have to lift the bed sheets, when a roach just wiggles out. I was disgusted. I walked right out and went to the office and I told them I needed a refund. They asked why and I explained what had happened. The guy (to not use any rude words) said they could give us another room. Ummm no thank you. Refund me now. The guy said that they couldn’t refund me until the saw a cockroach, I told him that was fine that I would be happy to show him where to look, he then said, that we had to wait for the pest control company to come, I told him I needed to show someone now! Since this guy was already giving me issues, I contacted my bank and since the transaction read processing they said they’d put a hold on it. Another (nicer) guy came out and we walked into the room, and sure enough the cockroach was right where I saw it. We walked back and the refund was completed. The guy said “we are sorry we didn’t know, if customers don’t tell us…” I guess they don’t read the reviews since almost every review on here is horrible! Save your time, and book elsewhere.

Negative experience: When walking in the room, it smelled and large stains on the carpet. My daughter found cockroaches and a clump of hair in the sink. I would bulldoze this place. The pictures and reviews looked nice totally a different experience.

Negative experience: The front staff was not accommodating as I booked through Expedia. Within the hour I went back to the front desk to let them know of my issues: dirty used towels, dead roaches behind fridge, nasty stuff under bed. I was told by Leo I was unable to get a FULL refund. I think this is unacceptable, even Expedia tried calling and they did not refund us. Instead Expedia had to move me and my son to another hotel, which was nice on their end. However, this hotel did not refund due to the nasty state it was in. Stay away, and book elsewhere.

Negative experience: Walked in the room and it immediately spelled like urine. The carpet has stains on it. The bedding is old has like a off white color. Reminds of a homeless encampment. I'm going to the store to get air freshener and Lysol as we speak

Negative experience: this hotel doesn’t even deserve 1 star!! if I could rate it a 0 I would. check in was at 3 we did not get there until 8 and the room was still dirty. there was hair balls all over the carpet, makeup on the pillows , blood on the toilet paper and mens boxers on the shower curtain!! we asked if we could switch to a clean room (which is what we paid for ) and the receptionist could not even do that , he wanted us to wait a few hours for a clean room that should have already been ready! we wasted half the day of our trip dealing with this issue that should have never been an issue to begin with. save your money and do not stay at this disgusting “ hotel”!!

Negative experience: We ordered 2 rooms for family trip to San Diego. When I was booked in Agoda, looks like good in pictures. But what we got not like in pictures. Dirty room, Never broom or mopping. No daily cleaning. No hot tub. Broken fridge. The other room was smell.

Negative experience: The pictures on the website are very deceiving! Rooms are old and not clean we had a few rooms for a big family some rooms had a microwave and fridge another did not some had a ironing board but no iron vise versus. No coffee machine in rooms definitely in need of repairs. Jacuzzi was broken looks like it has been for a very long time had to ask for towels since they only provided 2 for 4 people. Also were locked out late at night. It wasn’t worth the price! The only good things I can say is that the staff was very friendly and nice.

Negative experience: Unfortunately this hotel was just not it. It literally had blood stains on the shower curtains, and a big blood stain on the carpet. To top it off, I called nearly 3 weeks after my stay to question my deposit and the receptionist literally hung up on me. I thought I’d give her the benefit of the doubt and thought perhaps our call dropped but nope, after calling back. I was hung up on again. So then, I called for a third time and my call was not getting picked up. I had to then go to the extent of dialing from my office and sure enough the first ring, she answered. I questioned why I was hung up on twice, and why she answered a different number, she then said she could not “hear me” from my personal number. Honestly, was not believable at all, felt like she was being malicious. Months later, still never received my deposit, left the room in better shape/condition than how it was provided. Definitely wouldn’t ever stay here again, the customer service was bad. Although I do want to mention, the gentleman who checked me and my husband in, that works overnight was the sweetest person. He should show the receptionist some manners and how to treat guest. 1 star because of his hard work and personality. Do not recommend tho, don’t spend you’re money here. Even if it cost you a little more, worth spending you’re money elsewhere.

Negative experience: The room is smelly. I had to buy my own air freshener to cover the smell of smoke in the room. Don’t be fooled by the room pictures posted by the hotel. The appliances are all worn down and old. This is not a hotel but a motel at best. For $140 dollar during the summer you would rather pay more than end up here. There was even a resort fee of $12 for just a pool that you will not even be using. The only part is that it is located along hotel circle but that’s it really.

Positive experience: Centrally located. Cold ac. Nice pool and tub. Rooms were a bit sloppy, needed cleaned better. We were given three towels for 5 people for 5 days. And when we asked for extra sheets/a blanket, we never received them. Check in was quick. We didn't see any bugs like other reviews claimed. It's pet friendly. All in all It's a place to lay your head while traveling. No complaints here. Did the job.

Negative experience: Me, my cousin, her baby sister, aunt and uncle are currently staying at this hotel and it’s honestly the worst there are bed bugs on the blankets, stains on the carpet, and the microwave barely works. Earlier this morning me and my cousin went to get something in the car and we saw the place where they were washing the sheets and towels and it is unsanitary and place smells horrible, they always say they’ll do better but everyone is having the same problems about the hotel for years. Don’t run a business that you guys can’t maintain properly ☺️

Negative experience: I have never in my life been more fooled. Didn’t even walk in the room and the screen to the window was bent sticking out. Walk in the room and the bed is dirty. The bathroom (booked because I wanted a tub) was nothing what so ever even offered. It was a shower, there wasn’t even art work. Smelled like smoke. Asked the manager to even switch rooms, even if I had to pay more. And he would not assist in any way. I have a newborn and he saw that. He told me since I booked through a 3rd party there was nothing he can help with. Been on hold with booking going back and fourth for an hour now. While I’m sitting in the car because I refuse to go back in that room, I warn you … DO NOT STAY HERE.

Negative experience: Had a late check-in. Gal at the front desk was friendly. Got me through the process quickly and efficiently. Don't let the pictures of the rooms fool you. This place felt like a rundown apartment for college students. The moment we walked in here, you could smell the musk. I was surprised that the AC even worked. It was covered by the blackout curtains. So if you wanted to keep out prying eyes, you had to pull the curtains over it. In order to have the AC actually cool the room, I had to use one of the hangers to keep the curtain from blocking the exhaust. The vanity over the faucet blocked the faucet from fully turning on. There were no cups for drinking or rinsing. There was a barebone table trying to pass for a desk. There was no chair. I don't believe we even had a phone. Towels were in short supply and not particularly clean looking. The bathtub felt cramped, and I'm 5'7". There was no cold water from the tub faucet. You had to play around w/ it to figure out where the lukewarm setting is. We had a microwave but no fridge. Never turned on the TV, so I couldn't verify if there were premium channels. Wifi worked OK, though I did not test the speed. My wife found a cockroach behind the microwave, shocker. This hotel is rated 2 stars, but it's closer to 1~1.5. If you only need a place to sleep, there are probably better options. We stayed during Comic Con (we didn't attend), which would explain why every last hotel was so expensive. I think I would rather camp out and take showers at the 24 Hour Fitness. At least I can get clean towels and a workout there. Most definitely will not book here again, and I recommend others don't as well. About the only good things were that the beds were comfortable enough and the location is quite central.

Negative experience: Did not have a fridge or hair dryer even though the website claimed they were included in all rooms. Stains on the sheets, floor, bed frame, etc. Hair on the shower walls. Reeked of cigarettes despite being a non-smoking hotel. No hand soap, and none was brought after telling the front desk so had to buy our own soap from the store. Outlets hardly held anything, leaving chargers limply hanging and some outlets didn’t even work. Charged a “resort fee” despite doing absolutely nothing extra. Genuinely considered sleeping in the car because the room was so disgusting.

Negative experience: This was one of the worst hotel/motel to stay in!! We just checked out . No room service at all, we stayed for 9 days and we had to ask for towels twice ! We needed to buy our own bathroom tissue because they didn’t provide nothing at all ! The outside sign says “kitchen/suites “ thats a lie . False advertisement , what we saw on line was not what we got , the beds looked nothing like the online pics . The sink was broken , the tv didnt worked for 2 days ! No one came to clean the room the whole week we stayed there . We made it comfortable being there by buying personal hygiene stuff bathroom mats , towels , shampoo, washcloths , we cleaned the sink because it was filthy ! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL ! I really wish I could’ve uploaded pics. And for the price its ridiculous ! Also staff are a big No No. one more thing , no breakfast . Everything about this place is a big no!! I forgot to mention that I was bitten by something every night , and there will be no next time . The service should’ve been done right the first time after all these bad reviews you would think that you guys would’ve done some about it before , but apparently not .

Negative experience: First, our stay was 6 days and 5 nights, room 235. On none of these days did they come to clean our room. The room had small cockroaches and had a cigarette smell. The room did not have the promised amenities. For example, it did not have an iron, a hair dryer, a coffee maker, the shower only had very hot water, and it had only one trash can for the entire room. The fridge had a horrible vinegar smell. We had to buy air freshener and cleaning products for the room. Common areas were dirty. The hotel did not have security and not enough staff for customer service. We will only give it one star as a value, because they do not deserve any.

Negative experience: book this hotel , despite the bad reviews. it already has . because all the hotels in the area were full. So this was the only free hotel, and I decided to make a reservation. Before arriving I went to buy disinfectants, Lysol, Clorox, etc. and I always carry my personal towels with me. because I don't like to use the ones in hotels. . upon arrival at the hotel for my check in. the girl in the lobby was asleep. She woke up when she heard me coming in. and she told me to wait 30 min. It was not yet time to check in. finally when entering the room that was assigned to me. indeed the sheets on the bed were dirty , with blood , makeup , hair . there were cockroaches stuck to the wall, on the floor. bathroom towels were dirty. Actually the hygiene in this place is terrible ,It's a shame, because the facilities are not so bad. but terrible hygiene .

Negative experience: Check-in was easy enough. Open the door to our room and it smelt of rancid water At first I thought it was coming from the AC unit later I found out there was a crack between the bathtub and the flooring and underneath the bathtub itself it’s filled with water (you can hear water sloshing around underneath the tub as you step) taking a shower felt like standing on top of a water bed. Nothing makes you feel cleaner after getting out of the shower like knowing you just stood on top of everybody else’s bathwater who knows how long that’s been there. Did notice the door has a large gap underneath it which it lets in bug from the outside i’ve seen one dead beetle and one more walking on the carpet I had to kill and our roommate Frank the spider that likes to greet us at the door He left us alone during our visit although he did keep mean mugging me every time I would open the door. Between the moldy water I’ve been inhaling and the bugs I’ve been killing I don’t recommend it Too many more options right next-door.. Other reviews I’ve read on this place soon after getting here sum it up. I’m expecting somebody in the company to leave a message under this like we take this very seriously and we’re gonna do something about it and something about falling short of expectations. Your cleaning staff don’t look up at the ceilings when they clean the rancid moldy water odor doesn’t bother them so I assume many of these units probably smell that way possibly for the same reason and maintenance Is taking way too many shortcuts or just slacking

Negative experience: Old dump no parking loud and noisy the room was dilapidated the door didn’t seal people piled up all of their food trash in the tiny trash cans out front and a skunk would come through at night and raid them and the smell of the skunk would get pulled into the air conditioners they were tweakers skulking about all night you didn’t feel safe leaving your hotel room and walking anywhere this made my trip pretty miserable i’ve stated the hotels in the area and never had this kind of a problem at them. And then after all this mess they have the audacity to add a resort fee I thought things had to work in order to be resort nothing works so you’re not much of a resort Avoid this budget bargain like a plague

Negative experience: The AC stopped working the phones in room don’t work to call front desk. The carpet floor was wet. Called in the morning to ask for towels and they said we had to come up to get. I go to get towels and the same girl who told me there was towels tells me she doesn’t have any. Asked to speak to the manager who she said was on site and when she called him he wouldn’t come to office. Horrible stay!!! Paid over 200$ for this room.

Negative experience: This hotel charges a ‘resort fee’ of over 11$ a day and I’m left asking ‘for what?’ Hotel staff does not clean your room, per their policy, while you stay there. The room smelled like closet musk had cockroaches. The hotel also has a sign advertising weekly and monthly rates which is completely untrue upon checking with front desk they don’t offer either. If you’re looking for a a budget room don’t let your search stop with this hotel.

Negative experience: Room: Extremely small. Lighting: Only 1 Light in the entire bedroom area. Too dark! Furniture: 1 long narrow table with a heavy metal bench to sit on. Weird. Parking: The parking behind the hotel was difficult to determine which spaces belong to IRIS & HOLIDAY INN Express. No signs present. Customer Service: Poor! There was a male & female hotel employee at the front desk and 2 other guests in front of me waiting to check-in when I arrived. During my entire lengthy wait to check-in, the male employee was the only one servicing those waiting to check-in. The female employee was just standing behind the counter talking to the male employee with no regard to those of us waiting. They both made eye contact with me in line but made "no effort" to "move" the line or acknowledge to us otherwise. The female employee at one point began to brush her hair while chatting with the male front desk employee. Unacceptable!

Negative experience: Way over priced for what the room is. Carpet is disgusting found a large toe nail, and a Marijuana stem by the beds when I went to go plug my phone in. They say each room has a coffee pot and mini fridge when they don't. Also pool isn't heated no big deal because they have a hot tub..oh but the hot tub is broken. It looks so nice by the pictures and ratings but it's not. So deceiving.

Negative experience: The hotel is good to get if you are planning to literally just sleep and if it’s an emergency. The hotel is so dirty, apparently they don’t clean them everyday, and it was my worst experience ever. Positive experience: The room is basic, 2 beds, 60 inch T.V, table & chair. Refrigerator & Microwave, sink-toilet-shower. My room was CLEAN! No issues, the A/C worked perfectly and icy cold! The way I like it. Free Wi-Fi 1 thing, the carpet on floor needs a good thorough cleaning.

Negative experience: Terrible place to stay! We booked for 2 nights and left after 1 night. There were cockroaches in our room! Went to front desk and they wanted to move us to another room. We went to check out the room and it was dirty. Stains on bed linens and towels were dirty. Floor was also dirty. Sure ruined mothers day.

Positive experience: Receptionist man was very helpful and friendly. Room was big, nice and clean. The only problem was coming in late it was dark and the light switch didn't work. Had to use lamp. Would come here again

Negative experience: I’m very disappointed and disgusted by this hotel. I’m not sure if they switched management or owner . But this place has been let go it’s ran down from the last time I stayed there. The carpet is gross really stained ! The mattress was awful not comfortable at all. And the shower curtain had a really bad odor. The lamps were stained and broken. The walls we’re stained all over the room ! And to top it off there was roaches . Paid way too much god this room for the poor quality of this place . I’d you can avoid this hotel please do so! ! I regret my weekend here.
