Negative experience: If you don't carry all of your insurance with them expect a heavy penalty up to double or more than the basic price. Also if you have a medical past they may quadruple your premium just to be with an affiliate agency. I went check on it with other well known companies and it was quite different.

Negative experience: I will never recommend AAA, I am not a member with them nor ever to will be. A policy holder from AAA crashed into my parked vehicle and once I tried to get ahold of them they would never answer. I would have to leave SEVERAL MESSAGES and maybe once or twice I’ve received a call back. The claim department is all S*** all they want to do is wash their hands and try to have you finish your claim with your own insurance, when clearly their policy holder was 100% at FAULT. Tried to call manager and as well as the rest, NO ANSWER.! VERY VERY FRUSTRATING, to have to be the ones to push them to get things done, but if it was the other way around very quickly they will do their job. Once again I will NEVER RECOMMEND AAA. Very Poor Customer Service. They give you nothing but the run around and they waste your time as well as they never answer your questions. Supposedly a great company but I TOTALLY DISAGREE.!!! They are NOT WILLING TO HELP YOU WHAT SO EVER, they rather leave it all under your own hands. Again I am not a member but now I will NEVER CONSIDER TO BECOME A MEMBER NOR WILL I EVERRR RECOMMEND.!!!

Negative experience: I have been in the office several times due to Mr nell and his manager eron having me go back and forth with calls and they don’t answer my questions or the calls.Mr Nell is very rude refused to give me a number to File a complaint! They are not helpful and seem to not care about customers situation HORRIBLE STAFF AND COMPANY!! DO NOT RECOMMEND !! One star review is giving them to much ! Positive experience: Okay, we have been long-time members of AAA as a cardholder for years. Several times now when my husband has had to call in to get assistance he has keyed in all the information. Then the system says, it will have to send him to a human only to find out all that info is in cyber heaven. Or in some hacker's hands, who knows but not in the right hands. Then, once the human has the information they say, They can’t locate where he is. “I mean he was on two major streets, on the corner.” “Can you give me an address?” “No, there isn’t one.” So, my husband gives them the Google coordinates, and the lady on the phone isn’t impressed. He asked if she even saw Bakersfield. He was about to ask, “Do you have a smartphone since your dumb computer can’t seem to accomplish much? When a call comes in back-to-back three times, he decides to answer the third time good thing it was the tow truck driver. He is on the south side of Laurelglen instead of the North. So, not the computer, nope. Then, the driver had no tools, and no tool so couldn’t put the spare on. He Decides to tow. But he had turned off the truck so it went click, click, click then it happened to start. Hubby said the guy was nice it was just the overall experience had been off. We pay for three cards. I don't get why one for our daughter. It was our daughter stuck both times who had to be somewhere on a time crunch. Therefore, called Dad, to the rescue. Just saying what if she was the one stranded, you know solo and alone? Not feeling that at all. Tomorrow we get to do it again.

Negative experience: I was a member and decided to cancel when I moved to CA due to no service in my area. No reason to pay for no service. They supposedly now have service in my area. I have called the AAA office in Bakersfield and they never pick up the phone. Always goes to roadside service. I do not want roadside service. I would like to speak to someone at the Bakersfield branch. Why would I join if I can't speak to anyone at the branch? I live an hour and a half away. Not going to drive just to ask a question.

Negative experience: After two years of doing business with AAA, my overall experience has not been acceptable. After calling another, higher rated insurance carrier, I got a new policy with better coverage at less than half the premium AAA was charging. Trying to cancel the AAA policy, I was asked to call back as the agent wasn’t able to connect with the main office. Honestly, I’m really glad I’ve never had to file a claim as I think it world have been a nightmare after the difficulty I’ve experienced, just attempting to make simple policy changes. Sorry, can’t recommend AAA.

Negative experience: Do not purchase AAA roadside membership if you have children or ever plan or traveling with them. I had the worst experience with AAA this past Sunday, July 28th, 2024. We were traveling back from Arizona when our truck started smoking. It was leaking transmission fluid for which we didn’t want to continue driving it out of fear it could get worse. I pay for premium service which I have never had to use in the years I have had AAA. There were 5 of us., My husband and 3 children. We were lucky enough to have exited and made it to a gas station in Essex, CA at 12pm., where we waited for over an hour for a tow truck to show up. AAA knew how many passengers were traveling because they asked me at least 3 times. We were picked up by a tow truck which already had a vehicle loaded. He took us into another gas station about 50 miles up the road (we have 200 miles tow with our premium service) We got out while he unloaded the other car. Never mind, no one ever told us what to expect from this tow. We were then taken to a Carl’s Jr. Parking lot in Barstow, CA where we were dropped off. The driver said, Someone else is coming to get you to take you home. Well, I panicked, it is now after 4pm and nothing happens, I called AAA where the lady in not a kind way very matter of fact told me that they do not tow more than 2 people max per tow… Umm, there are plenty of extended cab tow trucks on the road, how is this possible. She said, I can offer to help call a relative or call police to see how they can assist… I pay for you to help me in this time of need, I do not have family close by, much less someone who can pick us up way out here in the middle of nowhere. Well, it was very much too bad, so sad. They cannot do anything for me. I will NOT EVER use AAA again. This was a horrible experience and one I recommend you stay away from. AAA will NOT help you if there are more than 2 of you. Needless to say, we had to drive our truck home and risk something much worse happening because we were out of luck with no help when we needed it most.

Negative experience: Emails after email, call after call and nobody calls you back. Going into the office is a 2 hour wait. And then they are so rude to you it is absolutely unbelievable. I am now with Mercury insurance. After 18 years of being a customer I am running away. Don't waste your time or your money.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would! My husband and I went in to clarify some DMV paperwork processing issues from when we were active members. The supervisor at this location was very rude. My membership expired 2/2024 and didn’t renew because we didn’t really use the AAA benefits. And because our membership was expired, they wouldn’t even look at our documents, take my husbands ID, the supervisor refused to even listen to our concerns. We weren’t aware of the issues until this month, or else we would’ve gone while our mentorship was still active. Called the main customer service center since this location has very poor customer service skills and is unable to help.

Negative experience: Worst customer service I have ever experienced. They consistently provide inaccurate information, do not document that they talk to you and give you different information depending on the day, and then lie about the interaction. I have been a member for several years and have had auto insurance. I have a perfect driving record and am on my works corporate policy, yet AAA was suddenly unable to insure me. When I asked for specific reasons, I was given the run around, but never an answer. I have also paid for towing, and when I had to use it because I broke down on the freeway, everyone I talked to, including the tow truck driver, was rude and less than helpful. I am cancelling all my policies and memberships at this point Working with AAA has been a frustrating headache and one I’m glad is over. I DO NOT recommend!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to this place for long time now and never really had any issues with insurance or customer services. In fact they were very helpful when I had crash on my old motorcycle (hit black ice) years ago and helped settle with nice payout. Negative experience: So I been with this company for many years with my vehicle insurance renters insurance and 5 years with the roadside premier membership and I put in for a tow going 198 miles I spoke to the aaa agent and made sure my 200 mile tow was available before my car got towed and she told me yes it’s available so my truck got towed weeks later I get a bill for 700 dollars for the tow why should I get billed for the tow when I confirmed that my tow was available if she would have told me that it wasn’t available I would have made other arrangements to tow my truck for a more reasonable price well I been trying to handle this matter with aaa and they never give me a answer or call me back so now they just want to cancel all three of my subscriptions witch is vehicle insurance renters insurance and my roadside and they never would of told me if it wasn’t for me bugging them about it sad part it is that I work for a towing company that provides for aaa. Ali at the Bakersfield office was very helpful and courteous. he gave me a good price so I agreed to switch. three weeks later I get an email from his underwriter telling me they made a mistake and my policy was going up by $560. needless to say I was furious. why do I have to pay for there mistakes? now I am stuck with a higher bill then I was paying before, after all the headache of switching over. stay away from this company. they drastically over insure so they can charge you more money.

Called for tow truck at 5:30pm and called again at 6:30 no update, called at 7:30 they said it should arrive by 8:30, called again at 8:45 and they said it would be until 10:30 pm. I am a typical, average customer, 56-year-old male, Marine Corps Veteran, retired police officer, who is taking care of an 82-year-old mother.
