Negative experience: There is always something that goes wrong when I come here. The techs have left my car filthy after oil changes, I’ve been overcharged and the manager couldn’t figure out why (he remedied it with a free future oil change), I’ve waited for over 2 hours for an oil change because “they didn’t know I was waiting” when I was sitting in the waiting area, they didn’t clean after the oil change and my car appeared to be leaking oil and again, had to be remedied by the manager, and this latest time, I made a 7:30am appointment for an oil change and was told that techs don’t start work until 8am. This was not made clear when booking the appointment online and I even called 4 days prior to confirm it and the woman I spoke to did not tell me that the 7:30am slot is generally only for drop offs. Luckily there was a tech here that took my car at 7:30am but if I had known that prior, I wouldn’t have made the appointment. This location usually has good deals and it’s quick, but I’ve had some problem every appointment for the last year, at least.

Fantastic experience: I walked into AAA at 8:00am, it was open earlier than every other AAA. Adam kindly greeted me first thing in the morning with a smile and more energy than a cup of coffee. He was so kind, endearing and incredibly helpful. He answered all my questions and when he did not know the answer connected me to someone who did. I loved my experience at AAA. They are lifesavers! Ray was incredibly charismatic, caring and professional. He helped me as if I was his own family and explained everything simply to me. I was so overwhelmed but his assertiveness calmed me down and he did everything for me! I am so grateful to have worked with Ray.

Negative experience: I just had my license renewal and was completely taken aback by the man “helping” me. After patiently waiting while he made friendly extended small talk with first a woman, then a man, there was a complete 180 degree change with me to the point where I finally asked if I had inadvertently offended him. The first picture he took had too much glare on my glasses so he took a second pict and printed it out (without showing it to me first) and handed to me. My eye was completely closed. I asked to please try again but he insisted I take off my glasses. I told him my eyes could not focus but sure, I’d try. My eyes were not focused at all as I had warned him about. I asked if I could try one last time with my glasses back on (I had no trouble at all waiting while he talked and talked with the previous customers and I figured I had plenty of time left of my turn. I was not rude in the slightest. So this man actually says, “No you can’t because the first two had too much glare. IF THE SECOND PICTURE HAD TOO MUCH GLARE, WHY DID YOU PRINT IT OUT AND HAND IT TO ME AND SAY, “HERE IS YOUR NEW LICENSE”? This man needs additional training so that he is able to treat all customers the same. Edited to add: His surly attitude began at the very beginning when the very first thing I did was to smile and say to him, hello, how are you. I was met by a blank stare and utter silence, . Not even a smile. Complete change from his previous two interactions with customers that I witnessed.

Negative experience: Be cautious and don’t blindly trust their diagnosis. I took my Lexus in for a power steering fluid leak, and they quoted me $3,800 plus tax, claiming the rack and pinion, pump, and hoses all needed to be replaced. Thankfully, I didn’t move forward with the repairs, though I was still charged a diagnostic fee. I decided to get a second opinion from another mechanic, who found that only one bottom hose was leaking. He fixed it for $200, including parts and labor.

Negative experience: After i took my car in for a simple oil change, again something is wrong with my car. This time the coolant was totally gone. If i hadn’t check why the fan was still on after I shut the car off my engine would of overheated. Never going there again. Southington store is a rip off. Always say something is wrong with the car. There is after they work on it. Don’t know what they are doing. Manager needs to speak with the help.

Negative experience: If you're seeking auto services, I would not recommend this establishment. My vehicle was damaged, and they failed to take responsibility for the issues caused. They repeatedly interfered with my car's wiring, resulting in inconsistent diagnostic readings, and were unable to accurately identify the problem. Some mechanics appeared to lack the necessary competence. Furthermore, Alyssa and Jennifer Thibeau demonstrated a lack of social skills and proper training, leading to unsatisfactory customer service. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this location. However, I would like to acknowledge Paul, the Manager, for his exemplary customer service. It is evident that Alyssa and Jennifer could benefit from further training in customer relations and etiquette.

Negative experience: They charged over $2600 for an altanator and added more for unneeded tensioner and Gave car back with the car still making squealing noises stalling out in the check engine light still on which was not on previous to us bringing it there and when we brought back the car they wanted to charge $200 for diagnoses. And then they used my sons mothers email and gave themselves a good review without her permission which is illegal.the post Annmarie ward is them not her.They are crooks who took advantage of a woman. I will be reporting them to DMV and the Better Business Bureau. We are also going to take them to court and sue them. Do not go here or you will get screwed over. BE WARNED STAY AWAY!!!!! The manager avoided our calls when we try to call them back after spending $2,600 when the only thing that happened my son was listening to the radio with the key forward and the battery died so they towed the car to this AAA in Southington and that's what they charged to his mother trust me when I tell you this is the last place in the world you want to bring your car

Negative experience: Towed in my truck for over heating. Gave me a price of approximately $1100.00 to replace the radiator and thermostat. This is with a discount for being a aaa member. My brother fixed the truck in 2 hours, paid $300 for parts. We bought the parts at the same store they were getting them. $800 for 2 hours work and they should have been even quicker than we were as we’re not professional mechanics. This price was insane.

Negative experience: I went to this location last week because my vehicle kept overheating. I was told it was my cooling assembly and they would charge me 1200 dollars. I also was asked to put down a 300 dollar deposit for the said parts that they quoted had in stock but still had to order them anyway. I refused service and went somewhere else and only paid 600 dollars. Shame on you for price gouging your customers. I will never be using location again. Absolutely ridiculous

Negative experience: The 2 stars are cause the people I deal with there are really nice people otherwise it would be 1 star. I really don't appreciate the reviews of my car cause after they give me their review which is from a kid who looks like he's 15 years old I take it to my mechanic and he tells me it doesn't need to be done. Negative experience: So, my first review was 5 stars after getting my estimate, no work performed. Now, it's 2 and only because the woman behind the counter helped, the first time. I pick up my car and pay. On the way home, I'm thinking, I don't recall seeing an oil change on the bill. Was part of my estimate. Get home and check. No oil change. Called and was told to come in the next day, and they would take care of it. The following day, I return for oil change. An hour and a half later, for a 15-minute job, I get my car. Go down the street to get some food. I ate in my car, get out to throw away my trash, and notice a BIG wet spot under my car. Get down on the ground and put my finger in the puddle. Guess what I found? New oil leaking at a fast rate out of my car. Turn around and go back, again. Another 40 minutes later, they say it's fixed and the O-ring was the problem. Scratch my head on that one. I just can't grasp how, being the mechanic, you would not notice this. Did he even start the car and make sure it wasn't leaking? Nope.

Negative experience: AAA towed my car in after doing some brake work myself for a brake line fitment issue. While I admit customer work makes the shops job harder, these guys sent me home still having the brake issue I described after saying the car was safe. Had I not been an educated car owner, would have probably seized a rear brake and been in a bad situation…

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible service , went through about four different people over the phoneand they kept saying eta was about 1-3:03 , then the tow truck calls and says he's on his way(R.milan his name) . Come to find out when we call again the supervisor (Stanley) said that the driver has declined. Mind you we are just waiting thinking he's coming and nobody from triple aaa didnt even have the decency to call to let us know he did so . Then the manager Stanley wants to downplay it saying its only been 26 minutes over 3:03 , last time I checked late is late wether it be a minute.

Positive experience: Phil at the Southington, CT AAA Tire & Auto Service center was rude and unhelpful. He was not proactive in communicating with me about my vehicle which sat for several days at the facility without being looked at. When I reached out for a status myself, Phil claimed that the delay was due to being short staffed around the Thanksgiving holiday but spoke to me with a rude and exasperated tone, as if he was annoyed that I would be asking about the status of my vehicle. Once the car was looked at he provided me with a quote for work that was nearly $2,000 that included and unnecessary replacement of my ignition coils. When I called back I spoke to PAUL, who I told that I would not be approving that estimate and wanted my car towed to a different repair shop. Paul took the time to work with me to lower the estimate and assured me that he would get more information from the technician about why the ignition coils were included. Paul continued to keep me updated and helped me get the price down to $640 so that I wouldn't have the inconvenience of having my car moved elsewhere. I'm a regular customer of this AAA location and I don't appreciate being made to feel like an annoyance or provided with unnecessary charges, especially as a single woman seeking help with my car. Phil should be provided with more training and constructive criticism on how to provide good customer service. Paul is excellent and has always been helpful when I visit this location. AAA should hire enough technicians and pay them generously for the work they do in order to avoid excessive call-outs especially during the holidays. There is a reason people don't want to come into work. Overall this negative experience has caused me to re-think whether I will return to AAA Tire & Auto Service in Southington, CT.

Negative experience: They told me I needed 3 new tire sensors quoting me around $600 which I was very suspicious of “3” going out at the exact same time so I brought it to another place and they told me only one was out and I paid under $130 including labor. Sketchy. Never again AAA!

Negative experience: These people are thieves! My son’s radiator belt broke and his car overheated. They quoted him $700! They ended up charging him $2300 which is more than the car was worth. It was just a belt that needed to be replaced. The manager got upset because l was questioning him because that’s way too much. I am taking the car to another shop to validate that they put $1300 in new parts on it. I will sue them in court if they lied! Ripped off a 21 year old who did not know any better. Devils!!! You people think is funny ripping people off! You will pay for ur sins! That money is not worth going to hell for. You are not getting away with it! God is very real.

Negative experience: Overall poor experience with their service center. Brought my car in when it was leaking coolant. After the diagnostic I was told it was a leaking coolant reservoir and was quoted an exorbitant price to fix. I looked up the part number through my cars manufacturer and the price for the part was way lower than what I was quoted, I asked and was told “we’ll this is what we sell it for”. During this time I also had an incredibly difficult time getting ahold of anyone by phone to answer questions. I brought my car to a different service center and not only was the leak from somewhere completely different, but this was a known issue for this car model and repairs were covered by the manufacturer. I’m glad I took it elsewhere because otherwise I would have spent a lot of money to not even fix the correct problem. Unfortunate that I’m out the money I spent on the incorrect diagnostic. I’m not sure if the issue came from laziness, incompetence, greed, or a combination of these. While the people I talked with were nice, the overall experience was a huge disappointment.

Fantastic experience: 5 Stars for Paul Evan, Car Care Manager at this location. Paul's customer service is excellent, goes the extra effort without having to ask for it. In a world where customer service is dwindling this is the person you want to work with. Paul made a very bad situation for me, bearable and will be bringing my next car here for services. Negative experience: I set up an appointment for my 1976 Cadillac. They assured me that they had an experienced Mechanic who knew older cars. Once I brought it there, however, I received a phone call from them telling me that they don't work on older cars. Keep in mind that all of the parts are readily available. There are no rust issues. The rear set-up is exactly like that of any modern rear-wheel drive car, only simpler. My family has had AAA since 1967. I have my life insurance through them too. If they do this to one of their oldest customers, what could they do to you? Apparently, customer loyalty isn't of any value there.
Positive experience: Went for renewal for my license went in and didnt take long maybe 15 min. Better then going all the way to Dmv and wait for ever before getting served and people ay triple AAA were alot more pleasent then Dmv.

Poor communication and lack of technical skills — brought my car for diagnosis, they took 3 days trying to figure out the issue and kept saying we’ll call you later today every day. Fantastic experience: Called AAA because my go to service. stations couldn't even look at my car for a week. Advisor at AAA said two days. We brought the car in that day and said they would do it ASAP. 36 hours later new radiator is done!

Negative experience: Would absolutely give 0 stars if I could. They kept my car for a week not calling once to update me at the end of each day I had to call to even get any answers as to what was happening, then finally they told me they fixed it. When I picked it up and started driving home all the same problems that they "fixed" started up again. I drove back and they told me they would have a different mechanic look at it. Apparently they only have one good one. I also informed them several times I work night shift and need calls with updates before 12pm so I could try and get some sleep but they did not care and still called long after I should have been asleep. Finally they tell me it's a transmission code and they don't deal with that....after I had already paid $900. That code came up in the beginning and they still tried to "fix" it knowing they couldn't. I have now been trying for 2 days to get them to tow it to a place that will and they have been giving me the run around saying only one person can authorize it and he is out. He was the same person who told me to call the next day to have it towed, once again knowing he wouldn't be in to help. I have not been at the end of such horrible customer service before and it was honestly disrespectful how I was treated. Not a single apology or care for what they did and I still don't have my car!

Negative experience: First off , let me start by saying that I am a AAA member and AAA EMPLOYEE in the local area. I have been getting my vehicles diagnosed and repaired at this facility for about 3 years now and unfortunately the service has been less than satisfactory every time. I’ve given this CCIT the benefit of the doubt because I get a discount for being an employee however I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere because of the lack of service I’ve gotten and inconvenience I’ve been cause EVERYTIME. My car always sits there for at least 3 days before getting looked at UNLESS I go for a simple oil change. It’s pretty strange that the multipoint inspections that are “conducted” every time are always inconsistent with the previous one. Seems like there’s no standard that the techs use on whether or not something requires attention or is good, I’m convinced a bunch of boxes are just checked off. Angie is always very nice and easy to talk to, William ALWAYS seems to be overwhelmed that the phone won’t stop ringing and I’ve NEVER seen this man smile. Paul unfortunately being the manager of the car care division is the most disappointing. His failure to give any updates on my vehicle unless I harass him is unacceptable. Sometimes I even have to go in person to get the same answer of “I just haven’t had a moment to look at it” (When my appointment was 4 days prior) Multiple times I’ve been put on the back burner where my car has been there over a week and the end result according to him usually is “we can‘t seem to find the problem, can you bring it back another day?” At least the dealer offers loaner cars in the meantime. The 3x mark up on the parts is RIDICULOUS. All you have to do is search the part numbers on google to figure this out, but hey I guess that’s the price of not having access to the same tools they do. I’d be VERY surprised if there’s any reconciliation more than an apology but judging by the other reviews I’m sure that’s all I’ll get. End rant. *UPDATE* : Emailed the AAA review department with this same review May 18,2023. Still waiting for a response May 23,2023. Picked up my vehicle May 22,2023 after $2,500 in repairs now my steering is stiff. Unbelievable.

Negative experience: Having an appointment should mean that there is an open bay in the garage for when I get there. They made me wait 3 hours just to get a 15 minute diagnostic and had the nerve to charge me $60. Inconsiderate of their customers time. What was the point of making an appointment days in advance?

Fantastic experience: Can't say enough nice things about this AAA location. My car's temperature warning light came on suddenly as I was driving from New York City to Boston, and I pulled over and took my car here. I was in a major rush due to an event that weekend, and the shop was wonderful about getting me seen and taken care of ASAP. They were able to replace my car's coolant thermostat in a matter of hours, and I was on my way like nothing ever happened. The facility is gorgeous, the staff is kind and friendly, and the price was very fair. I wish I lived closer so I could make this my go-to spot for car maintenance and service!

Negative experience: Totally overcharged for parts. Labor price ridiculous..charged me $179 for warranty on front end alignment that I did not authorize. I'll never use them again and I will tell my friends and family not to.very disappointed.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this location for larger repairs. They do not have the staff to answer the phone, and I only found out today, after Ubering in and after trying to dial in over the course of two days, that a transmission I ordered is not able to be installed, and that, although I have a two year warranty, it does not include returns. They seem like nice people at this location and I am not going to blame a mechanic for a manufacturer's predatory return policy.... but for a job of this magnitude, I should have been given a call when further complications with my vehicle were uncovered. I have been a AAA member for years and am beyond disappointed that I had to order a ride to be given an update.

Negative experience: I came to AAA to renew my drivers license and to get a Real ID drivers license. I brought my documents that are required. First I checked in at the front desk and I told the worker why I’m here.I also paid a 8 dollar AAA fee. I then stated to the worker at the DMV desk is this for a real ID and he stated yes but he didn’t ask for no documents. I paid 96 dollars and I was on my way. Under 2 weeks later I received my drivers license in the mail but it wasn’t a real ID drivers license with a star on it. The next day I went back to AAA to explain the situation. The same worker at the front desk apologize for not properly checking and verifying my documents on the reason why I’m here, but this time she did. Afterwards Nelson was the one we spoke to and he stated “I have to pay 30 dollars for a duplicate license because I didn’t ask for a real ID because no documents were scanned on the computer when you first came in.” I explained to Nelson I told the worker why I was here and I tried to verify by asking is this for the real ID license and he stated yes. Nelson stated “the worker at the front desk is new and only been on the job for 2 weeks.” Nelson wasn’t helpful in regards to resolving the problem only if I paid 30 dollars for a duplicate license. It shouldn’t be my job to tell you how to do your job so I spent a total of 104 dollars with additional 30 dollars for what I actually wanted the first time which is a Real ID drivers license. As a supervisor if your staff made a error. You should take the responsibility and leadership on trying to fix the problem rather then telling the customer to go somewhere else to fix the problem. Additionally having a customer spend unnecessary extra money when it was poor communication on your end. I will not be returning back to AAA for any business and for anything regarding a license renewal I rather go to an actual DMV.

Negative experience: Horrible experience, zero customer service, & don't bother calling cuz they put you on hold & never pick up! Called twice yesterday, on hold entire time, & I got a ride there twice within 3 hours to ask for an update & showed them on my phone I was still on hold - never answered - 1st time on hold 27 mins, 2nd time on hold 51 mins!!! Negative experience: Well they haven't performed anything yet they pick the car up kept it overnight and now it's 1:00 the next afternoon and nobody seems to know anything I can't get my car. I finally got it. It took 24 hours to look at a tire. And yes I finally resorted to calling every 2 hours. They needed a status report from the garage . I hate scripts.

Negative experience: Today is Friday 6/24/22 at 5:13 pm and I've been on hold for over 22 minutes waiting for someone to answer the phone to get status of my car repair. Car has been at AAA Service Center in Southington since Thursday 6/22 morning. Car needs new alternator and cost twice as much.

Fantastic experience: My wife needed to renew her license and we also needed a trip tic. We got in and out fast despite the amount of cars in the lot, and she protested that it looked to busy and it would take a long time, and we could come back another day. I told her let's see how busy they are inside, and since I was driving because she has a boot on her foot from breaking her ankle she really didn't have a choice, and yes I was right which she can't stand to say. The staff was great in taking care of all the customer's and we might have been in AAA for a total amount of 20 minutes.

Negative experience: They failed to do a thorough diagnosis on my car, ended up agreeing to have work done under the assumption they would fix my car. It was only upon further diagnosis they figured out the main problem. I was still charged a lot of money for the services done on my vehicle even though the main issue with my car was not fixed and the car does not remain operational. These guys are liars and frauds and with that do not recommend their services.

Fantastic experience: Used coupon for AAA members for $15 off oil change. Service included LOF, tire rotation and 21 point inspection. There was no up-selling. A new air cleaner element was needed, so I approved, knowing that it had been almost 3 years since purchasing the car used. I was there, in their clean and well lighted waiting area for nearly two hours, however free coffee and cold water was provided and cable news was on the large screen TV. The service writer, Gustavo kept me informed of the progress of my service.

Negative experience: First and foremost I didn't receive any service after almost two hours I finally got help from a family friend I don't know why I bother to call for roadside assistance when it's always the same thing. It would be so much more comforting to receive Aid like the way you would like to feel when you call for comfort and help. I didn't even get a courtesy call before the arrival by the time I got a phone call it was almost 4 hours later it was almost 4 in the morning and I was home safe thanks to other people. All I know is I was scared out of my mind and really want it to receive help and I didn't get any of that
