Negative experience: I was called today at 800-222-1134. If I could give this company zero stars I would. AAA - Terrible customer service. The first representative I spoke to left me speechless and transferred the call to who knows where. Another representative came back and told me that she had updated my cars in the system. When I checked on the computer, no one did anything. I called again and this last representative who spoke English and Spanish told me that I don't have to update the system if I have a new car. That if I have a Lexus registered, it doesn't matter if I call them and for any reason the car is a Ford and I have my membership card present. And why anyone explain that to me from the beginning? We have been a member of AAA since 2009 but I have never received such poor service. I do not plan to renew my membership. It is not Worth it. See the same review in Yelp.com.

Negative experience: At this point I think AAA is stealing people money for roadside assistance this is my 2nd time trying to use my membership and I haven’t had a response or show up I won’t pay another dime they should be sued for stealing people money knowing they are no longer in business to help if any roadside is needed

Negative experience: My wife and I had a flat tire on I75. We called AAA at 4:55PM and were told a dispatcher would call back to let us know when help would arrive. After 40 minutes on the side of the freeway, in dangerous circumstances, we received a call from 813-632-7381; the caller identified herself as a AAA dispatcher. She informed us that things were busy and she was unable to have help there before 9:00PM, 3 1/2 hours later. I said that was unacceptable since we were on the side of the freeway with traffic going by at 70mph. I’m 68 years old, my wife is 66. It felt unsafe to even get out of my car. The dispatcher said there was nothing she could do and suggested I call the Florida Highway Department Road Rangers and gave me the number. I called and an FHP Road Ranger arrived within 10 minutes. After 44 years as a AAA member, I don’t see much reason to continue.

Negative experience: I'll be honest I contacted AAA today when I was in Bonita my car wouldn't start I lucky enough found a person in the parking lot to help me! I called AAA and they told me because I was in a safe place that I should hang up and call back later when conditions improve. Yes I was in a safe place but I was stranded I had to call off work today I couldn't pick my wife up from work. Cuz we got the premium edition of AAA and they couldn't help us. Like what do we pay for? I understand there was a hurricane but it was not bad in our area and that was their excuse as to why they couldn't get there soon. They tried to make me wait hours and hours. Very frustrated with this, this was a gift and it's never helped us I've called AAA a couple times before this and the same problem even without a hurricane. Very frustrating!

Negative experience: The representative (Moran is her name) I spoke to was rude on the phone, and Moran abruptly hung up on me. when I called back for assistance, Karen informed me she couldn't help either, and would not work over to her desk to find out why she hung and not answering phone calls, I explained I was trying to get insurance from there office location, she told me I can just call the 800 number for help. Karen ended up being rude also. No one should get treated this way especially when spending money with a local AAA office. Maybe they did not like my first name, im not sure what happened, she took all my information, just to hang up on me.

Negative experience: Do not use the office of Ft Myers! Especially the insurance agent Cathy Armstrong. She never calls you back. She then starts only emailing you but never with any information. Only to make excuses why she doesn’t call. Then she stops emailing also. Been nearly a month since I have tried to get insurance from them. And it’s mainly waiting on her to do something. I had already heard about them from another person and I should have listened. If you use them for anything definitely start a couple months early and maybe you will get it done!!!

Negative experience: Sad, wouldn't even give me the time and day to meet to discuss insurance options. Being a member, I anticipated much better support! Was asked if i had wind mit. Once he found out I didn't have shutters, despite a brand new roof, he practically told me he couldn't help. What a joke. Glad I went elsewhere... found excellent deals with competitors.

Negative experience: First tow ever. Waited 118 minutes for tow truck after calling at 5:45 am. Not in a super safe area but I did not need police support. No traffic issues/accidents in the area so I am unclear why the wait. Tow truck driver was nice, giving me much needed water. Driver told me, " no one picked up the call.". Horrible experience. Isn't this what they do?

Negative experience: Absolutely ridiculous to be closed all weekend when people who work have time to go. This company has gone totally downhill. Negative experience: I switched my AAA Club some years back, from Findlay, Ohio to Ft Myers FL, While with the Ohio Clubs, I never had any issues at all. I have had some good experiences with the Ft Myers club concerning roadside assistance, as well as some very, very bad ones. I stepped my coverages up to their best plans, which very unfortunately, the service didn't improve like I had hoped, today I had a vehicle lockout situation, I was in Ohio at the time, I got hung up on 5 times over a period of 2 hours, then I finally gave up. I have always had issues with this FM office when dealing with them directly, if I choose to stay with AAA, I will no longer be associated with this Fort Myers club location, Warning to others...you may want to consider using at least a different location club. I have been with AAA for 19 years at this point. VERY DISAPPOINTED in the Fort Myers AAA Office!

Negative experience: I went to the AAA in Fort Myers for driving directions .The triptiks that I received were not as useful as I could reasonably have expected. I would always just use my GPS . The information that was given was given grudgingly. The staff person demonstrated no interest in my travel destination or safety. Thankfully, my GPS is working now.

Fantastic experience: I had to visit this location as the Naples location was out of International Driving Permits and I am glad I did. The staff here was so friendly despite their reduced numbers. Unlike the Naples location, I was treated with dignity and respect throughout the entire process. The ladies in this office went above and beyond their normal duties - Shirley, Becky, Stacy, Linda, etc. I highly recommend this location if you have AAA business.

Negative experience: I went to the Fort Myers AAA Office attempting to get a international driving permit. The lady at the front counter told me that since I am not a member I had to either get a membership or handle it through the mail. I called AAA and was told this is a government supported service and a membership is not necessary. I went back and told the lady what I found out thinking she was just mistaken. She then said "well if you insist on not having a membership then you can schedule an appointment." So she clearly lied to me. She told me I would have to come back the next day. I then went to a different AAA office where they were great and I got the permit. I will be leaving a positive review for them.

Negative experience: My wife and I have been Triple A members for 47 years. Monday we stopped in to have a document Notarized and they refused saying one of us was not a member. We have had dozens of documents Notarized at this location over the years, but now all of a sudden it was a flat out NO. I am dropping my membership at the next renewal.

Negative experience: "AAA Emergency Battery Service" White Small Van driving East on Palm Beach BLVD, in Buckingham/Alva, estimated 9:30PM+/- on April 2, 2024: This is not just a complaint of typical speeding, but publicly making it known that this driver was cutting vehicles off (local families driving safely), the work van engine sounded like it was going to explode from being driven so hard, riding bumpers of cars, cutting people off to the point other cars had to almost go off road. DANGEROUS. SELFISH. NOT NORMAL. Something very wrong for that type of behavior. IF or when he hits someone I hope this public record serves in the lawsuit to show that your company was aware of the incident and that you DID or DID NOT do something to a very very very dangerous driver. I am not a police officer but estimate strongly this dangerous driver would have maybe been arrested it was so bad. Do not confuse my words with generalized "speeding". WORSE! Dangerous! Stupid dangerous!!!! Regarding speeding hopefully you have sensors in your vans. Driver was doing estimated 75 MPH in a 45... I really hope no one gets injured. But when they do I hope you get sued. That's how bad the driver was. If you think you can retrain that level of dangerous the jokes on you.

Negative experience: Horrible service. We had to wait for almost two hours on a busy highway while we had a blown out tire. They made us upgrade our membership so they would grace us with their service that we had to pay an extra $60 for same day service and an extra charge for a fixing a trailer tire that we had a spare for. They ended up not even fixing the tire on our trailer and left us to go look for a tire shop ourselves while driving on an exposed rim. It’s unbelievable that they charge people and don’t provide any help.

Negative experience: immensely disappointed in the service that AAA did not provide when I was left stranded on the side of a highway at 12AM after visiting a sick family member a couple hours away in the hospital hence why I was out that late. I waited an hour & half to be told that no one would be coming to get me unless I made an appointment between 8-10AM. That would have been 8-10 hours on the side of a busy highway. Thankfully 1 out of the 4 reps I spoke to, told me about highway patrol & they were the ones that ended up helping me get a tow truck there in 20 minutes. Why didn't every rep tell me that valuable information?!? This should be standard protocol especially when you are unable to do your job. Yes, AAA will reimburse for what I paid, however, this is completely unacceptable to leave a customer stranded on a highway for up to 10 hours. That is not safe for anyone & I had to make a review to give everyone a heads up of what situation you may find yourself in if you ever need to call AAA. That's the whole point on why we pay for AAA, it's their one job to make sure they can help us in with a car emergency!!! And then for them to not come through!?! I am looking at other options through my car insurance from here on out because I do not trust they will be there should I need help again.

Negative experience: My girlfriend and I broke down in her car at 2:00 this afternoon we then called AAA to get us a tow it is now 5:50 in the afternoon and they're telling us it's going to be another 69 minutes before somebody can get here thank God we're not stuck in the middle of the highway.. Negative experience: I went in to get a document that online seems easy enough, I brought all paper work down to the office because everywhere you read online they boast about being able to get it done quickly. If you want a IDP and to do it in person be prepared to get a rude tone of voice for every question you ask and a snippy response on the phone as well. And as if that wasn’t a fun time in itself you have to purchase some stupid useless membership just to get the IDP so it goes from 20$ to 75$ in about 2 seconds, either that or you can snail mail it and hope that it gets back to you in time. Called the Naples office and got a much happier rep and 10/10 service would go there instead every time

Negative experience: i actually cannot believe how horrible they’re customer service is . me and my grandma were out getting grocery’s at trader joe’s and as i was putting in mainly frozen grocery’s in the trunk i forgot my grandmas wallet ( with her keys and all her cards) was in with a grocery’s and we got locked out of our car. my grandma has been with AAA since the literal 80s so we called them and apparently we ran out of “ entitlements” so they would have to charge a 100 fee to come out, that was completely fine except her wallet with all of her cards cash etc was LOCKED INN THE TRUNNKK so we kept trying to explain abt 20 times we literally could not give them a card as it was locked in the car. my grandma said she has a card on file so they could use that or i could try apple pay or something but they literally would not come out and we talked to 4 people, the employees were honestly rude and i find it cruel they wouldn’t come out and help a 74 year old woman with knee problems who had to stand out in the sun for near 2 hours with frozen grocery’s in the back. thankfully we have extremely kind neighbors who called them and paid for them to come out, advanced lock smith the people who came out were extremely nice and quickly got the car unlocked so we could get on our way. we will absolutely be canceling our membership.

Fantastic experience: When we realized at the last minute that we did not have the international driver's license we needed and were leaving the following day, we called AAA. Their closing time was coming up but they held off until we were able to get there, and they had everything ready! Can't tell you how much I appreciate their help in this situation!

Negative experience: Why do you only get 3 services a year??? It use to be for tows! They want 100 to jump my car because I used 3 services already! Never will I pay for this service again. Its a rip off a tow was 60 before service became available but 100 to jump my car!!!!

Negative experience: Avoid Ken Sutton, we changed our provider based on the quote we received only to realise the improper VIN was used to give a wrong quote, when i realised my vin was wrong during annual renewal, the AAA as a whole, washed their hands off and made me pay the difference. plus roadside assistance is a joke. I setup a assist in march and was given 45 minute wait time. after 50 minute , I called to be told that it's been further pushed back another 50 minutes without any notice. I called aaa drive phone customer service on 05/04 , unncessarily rude and curt and using words likesa " learning curve"c2

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. AAA took 3 days to pick up the vehicle in a flood had to call more then 6 times finally they claimed they came but never did and used all my remaining service calls because they claimed each time I called is registered a s a service call even though service did not show. Ridiculous this company is at one time they were top notch especially in the 1980’s but now total garbage. They take your money and give you lousy service and send letter stating non renewal of service. Go elsewhere like your car insurance instead. I have a business and would not give my business to AAA ever again.

Negative experience: I needed to renew my passport, so the woman called out my name and said sit there I'll be back got camera took an awful picture (she said it was a nice pic it wasn't at all) she wouldn't take another gave me an invoice and the forms(I could have gotten them at the post office) and said go to the cashier and pay it. Ok I needed help completing the forms making sure everything was in order right. My friend insisted for me to go to my local AAA because they will help you out. Not at all.....

Negative experience: 14.5 hours! I called AAA for a tow truck at 5:30pm on Wednesday after work. The tow truck arrived at 8:00am on Thursday, the next day. We waited up all night with phone in hand for a call since AAA said they’d call when driver was in route. We checked several times and were told the tow truck will call when they are in route. The only call we received at 4am rang once and went to an automated message apologizing for the delay. We live in Fort Myers, Fl. Do not pay for AAA if you live in Florida. I lived in Chicagoland and had AAA for nine years. In Illinois I never waited more than 10 minutes. I work full time in a hospital and working a full shift with no sleep is very difficult. 14.5 hours wait all night is unacceptable. If I could give zero stars I would.

Negative experience: Worst service I ever saw and I have had AAA since I can remember (I am 59!). Been waiting for a jumpr start for 4 hours. No call no show. Hey AAA of Florida, are you reading these horrible reviews? People pay and COUNT on you! It is a beautiful night, no weather, so NO MORE EXCUSES!!! This really stinks and it's the 3rd time it's happened!!! Either just say we are paying for nothing and at LEAST let us know now to keep waiting when we are stranded!

Negative experience: MUCH TOO LONG A WAIT FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. on 1/30/23 I placed a request for roadside assistance at 2:34 p.m. - my front tire dropped into a depression. I was told it would likely be a two hour wait. At at 4:00 I called AAA to follow up and was told the request had been given to Coastal Towing and Recovery in Fort Myers. I called them, and they said maybe another hour or so wait. At 5:20 I got a message the tow truck was five minutes away. At 6:00 I called again...no answer. Kept waiting. At 7:00 A friend with a bigger truck pulled me out. THE BOTTOM LINE: If you subscribe to AAA because of the roadside assistance benefit, think again. The service of the companies they hire to respond to requests either over commit or do not prioritize AAA customers. Even after FOUR AND A HALF HOURS there was no service.

Was it the free maps? The passport photos? NO! IT WAS FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE!! They failed miserably.

Negative experience: The service is horrible! Every time you call for assistance it's 3-4 hour wait! They used to be better but the Last couple of years, they are horrible if you're in a need for a quick assistance. If you have a whole day to wait for them to show up then it's worth it. Negative experience: I recently joined AAA membership and attempted to get service several times. First, it needed 72 hours to be effective and this was acceptable but then my battery went dead again and it was 4;30 pm at work-called and was told perhaps by following week Monday since it was Friday. I was stunned. The agents said she was going to try to help me. Finally, she said by 8:00 pm, at best-it was 4:30 pm. Then, she said I could use someone else and pay them and try to submit it to them for reimbursement and when I asked how sure can I be of reimbursement, she said not guaranteed. Needless to say that is 2 strikes and ended up having to resort to someone else. When you need them, they are not available. I also believe they look at lower tier memberships and not the highest paid and not give you priority. I will NOT RENEW MY MEMBERSHIP. CAVEAT FOR REST OF PEOPLE!!!!!

Negative experience: I pay $275 a year for membership my grandson's truck went had a flat about a month ago they told him to go online and make an appointment my car the battery went dead yesterday I called they told me to go online and make an appointment again today I called them and they told me they could not come out to help me with my battery that I have to make an appointment and they'll get back to me in a day or two do not buy your AAA anymore do not pay these people any money go through your private insurance and pay for roadside it's a lot cheaper and a lot faster do not pay AAA any money

Fantastic experience: Ft Myers Beach War Zone. My car would not start, had to be taken to the dealership for service. .Desperate for help AAA used Westchester Towing Service, I can assure you they sent their best man, Andrew Medina. It took him 3 hours for him to get there due to the destruction on Ft Myers Beach. How he got down our street is still amazing and what's the first thing he does, he hands us a case of water and some oranges. Negative experience: We have been members of AAA for 34 years in Massachusetts and Florida. My wife had a situation with our vehicle of which I called this morning at 8:45 am needing the vehicle to be towed and we are still waiting 12 hours later and now the tow may be tomorrow. The lack of communication with no reason for this delay is poor service. Be aware of this and be prepared to wait with no explanation.

Negative experience: literally called at 1130am, 11 times called for updates, 11 different lies, then finally at 12am, i was told no ones coming call back in am . ... so instead getting my car to repair shop, so id have it fixed, i will miss another day off, for wrong info, no follow up, no follow thru over sold memberships company !!

Negative experience: For the second time in 13 months the turn around time from initializing the call for service was 5 hours!! They are the worst! I was in a serious emergency and was texted that a person would be at my location in 45 minutes! Lies!! One company that is contracted with AAA had 40 calls in front of me... This is a disgrace! I was told by the service provider that AAA only pays a nominal amount so no one is interested in a partnership with them...

Negative experience: If I could give them a negative 5 I would. Awful service. I've been a Gold Member since 2020. First time I truly needed them was Wednesday 08/24/2022. I called initially at 5:10 pm and my vehicle wasn't towed until 3:15 pm the following day. The initial three employees that I spoke with were rude, unsympathetic, and unhelpful. Basically it took AAA 22 hours to tow my vehicle 50 miles. I will be canceling my membership. My recommendation is to either buy a AAA membership or set your money on fire, because both choices result in the same outcome.

Negative experience: Got a flat tire, literally just needed to be towed down the street 2 miles to an auto shop. Called at 11:00 and was told I'd have to wait 4 hours, so 3:00 p.m. to be towed.... 6:00 p.m. rolls around still nothing, waited over 6 hours and still no tow truck. Sitting in the hot sun and a car on the side of the road. Talked to numerous difference employees, and they all said different things. Waste of time, wouldnt waste paying for their membership. Positive experience: Meh. AAA used to be service oriented and competitive insurance rates. Now they have huge cost overhead stores, mediocre service, and continually increasing rates at least 25%+ higher than competitors. Push spyware AAADrive on phone for "discount" and roadside service. App is unrealistic in real world situations, cumbersome, and waste of time. The app actually heated up battery killed phone. It's always hours of waiting for roadside assistance.

Negative experience: Not sure what the purpose of a membership to AAA is for, 2 hour window with no guarantee they'd even arrive. Thankfully my daughter had enough sense to call me, with a few friends we limped it home on 2 lugnuts after she waited for 2.5 hours. AAA use to be a peace mind and assurance now seems nothing more than taking your $$ and delivering no service. Don't waste your time or your hard eared money!

Negative experience: I was there short before 9 am (they open at 8.30) on Friday. That woman at the register was very unfriendly, grumpy, that I asked her a question. She was uninformed. I was the only customer in the whole office, she could have send me to one of the travel advisors, but she did not. I am a AAA member for many years, I am not used to such a behavior.

Negative experience: Called twice about rental insurance in Florida. Both times they said they'd email information. They did not. No, it's not in my spam folder and they confirmed my email address. Couldn't spend any time with me on the phone about their coverage. Employees must not care about AAA or they're just lazy. Men both times.Taking my business elsewhere!

Negative experience: On a trip from SWFlorida Fort Myers to Columbus, GA Wasted 5 hours and waited on interstate for active Dispatch with a pin locate. At Dispatch update time of 503pm Called AAA after 4 hours waiting and the lady told me call was declined no one is available and I Have to call alternative private towing and can get reimbursed later by filling out paperworks which will take weeks to process. I called tow truck on my own to go 7 miles to Ocala Oreilly's and get new alternator which i put in because it was afterhours for any repair shop. I am just glad it was not my grandmother stranded.

Negative experience: The National Call Centers that AAA uses through out the county will LIE TO YOU. They will tell that someone is coming to help you and you wait. After several hours you call them back and they will hang up on you. They WILL NOT tell you that the "allowed visits" that are include in your membership for Roadside Service, you have exceed them. Now you must wait until your New Renewal Date starts to received this Roadside Service. This leaves a person(s) "feeling like they they stranded." Nor will the Call Center tell you if your visits have exceed in your time period, you just have to pay the Roadside Driver when they arrive $30.00 for this Roadside Service that you requested until your New Renewal Date starts again. Why not be honest and up front with people? Especially when people maybe in a "dire need" alongside the road somewhere needing this all important Roadside Service! Glad other National Call Centers with other company's DO NOT treat this customers this way as the National Call Centers that AAA uses.

Negative experience: Gold member since 1992. The good news is we are safely home. The other news is after waiting 6 hours, yes 6 hours on the side of I75 with a flat tire we received a call telling us they didn't have anyone to dispatch to us. It was 11:26pm. They did assure us they would reimburse us for any charges we incurred if we could find someone ourselves. At 11:30pm. Gold member since 1992.
