Our comment from TraTraTravel about AAA Ventura Insurance and Member Services:
AAA Ventura Insurance and Member Services offers a wide range of services, with many customers appreciating the convenience of handling DMV transactions and roadside assistance in one location. Many users highlighted positive experiences with friendly and knowledgeable staff, especially for vehicle registration and notary services. Customers reported prompt and efficient service, often getting in and out quickly, which makes it a great alternative to traditional DMV visits.
However, there are significant concerns regarding customer service in the insurance department. Several reviews noted instances of rudeness and indifference from representatives, leaving customers feeling neglected and frustrated during critical assistance requests. Users have reported difficulty in reaching their agents via phone and a lack of follow-up on claims and inquiries. This inconsistency in service quality affects the overall customer experience at this location.
Key highlights:
- Convenient access to DMV and notary services
- Quick processing times for transactions
- Friendly and helpful staff in general
Areas for improvement:
- Customer service and communication within the insurance department
- Responsiveness to phone inquiries and claims processing
- Consistency in service quality across different staff members
AAA Ventura Insurance and Member Services: Reviews
Fantastic experience: JR was great help with the towing service.
Negative experience: My experience with AAA Insurance in Ventura was extremely disappointing. Even when I visited in person, seeing the first representative should have been a positive experience, but I was met with indifference. It felt like they were more focused on avoiding their responsibilities than providing genuine assistance. When I asked them to advocate for my refund request, getting meaningful support was an uphill battle. It seemed as if they were actively trying to avoid helping. This level of service is unacceptable. If you’re considering AAA Insurance in Ventura, CA, think twice. Their reputation doesn’t match their actual customer service—there are better providers out there who truly care about their clients..
Negative experience: The check-in person was curt bordering on rude. We were going there for a notary. she said we should have checked in online. I said it's not possible to check in online. She said yes it is. So I checked my phone with inside of her and it was not possible to check in online at this location for a notary public.
Fantastic experience: Love Tripple A very good services member for the past 10 years
Fantastic experience: In my experience (I normally go right before they close or on a Saturday), it's rather busy. But they have a lot of employees who provide great service while keeping the flow of customers moving. To me, having DMV services inside is worth a yearly membership in itself.
Negative experience: Lupita in the claims dept is very rude and not very understanding being that I’ve been a AAA member for a couple of years makes me want to cancel my membership. I’m just surprised on how she handled the situation. Not professional.
Negative experience: Impossible to get anyone to answer the phone at the local Ventura office and good luck trying to get your agent to answer their desk phone!! Their voicemail boxes are full and they never answer! You literally have to barge in the place to speak to anyone. Piss poor customer service from their insurance agents ️
Negative experience: My experience with AAA insurance in Ventura, CA, was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment I needed assistance, it was evident that helping customers was not their priority. It felt like pulling teeth to get anyone on the phone, and when I finally did, I was met with apathy and indifference. Instead of addressing my concerns, they seemed to revel in passing me off to the next person, each more unhelpful than the last. What’s worse is that their reluctance to assist felt deliberate, almost as if they were actively trying to avoid fulfilling their obligations. It’s one thing to encounter a company that’s overwhelmed or understaffed, but it’s another entirely when it feels like they’re intentionally dodging their responsibilities. To add insult to injury, when I filed a simple claim, it was summarily denied without any valid explanation. It was as if they were making up reasons just to avoid paying out. This level of dishonesty and disregard for their customers’ needs is unacceptable. I urge anyone considering AAA insurance in Ventura, CA, to think twice. Don’t be fooled by their reputation or promises – when it comes down to it, they’re more interested in putting you off than helping you. Save yourself the frustration and find an insurance provider that actually cares about its customers.
Negative experience: I have this insurance and they just seem like helping you isn’t it. Asking questions they transfer you to the next person and next. They got attitude. That my experience and I hope you don’t get that experience. Honest review
Fantastic experience: Everyone shows respect for the customer. Kindness and support from TOSHA ,a real neat person will always be a customer
Negative experience: I am really dissatisfied with the service I don't know why they can't accept auto payments, spectrum has no problem and edison does just fine taking auto payments every month but AAA seems to just not even try to process a payment and just sends a cancelation notice next thing I know I'm uninsured for 2 or 3 months this is unacceptable and ridiculous I've never had so much trouble with an insurance company
Negative experience: Does not do currency exchange even though it says they do on the website.
Fantastic experience: My husband has gotten two flat tires due to potholes this month, both times we called Triple A for a tow to the tire shop. Each time we got the same driver, Ernie. He got to us very quickly and delivered excellent service! Thank you Ernie!
Negative experience: Went into the Ventura office to make travel plans and waited an hour to be told I wasn't on their waiting list and would have to wait more for help. Not willing to waste more time today. Though I know it will cost me more for any travel while I wait to be calmer.
Negative experience: I would not use this company if it were my last option on earth. Thank God for Geico!! I was hit by someone who uses this insurance and never got around to making the review about my horrible experience with them because I've been in the process of seeking legal consult. The claims adjuster Laura Gonzalez, adjuster # 654714 qt the ventura district office, would never return my calls. Never! I had to reach out to her manager Diana Wilson just to speak with someone about my claim. While Dianna Wilson actually answered her phone and sometimes returned voicemail calls she was as dishonest as they come. First she told me to reach out via text because that was the best means of communication and that she promised Lauara would reach out via text if used the text platform. I wish I could show the several text messages I sent Laura with no response ever. She never responded not once. I let Dianan know this after she assured me there would be no issues after signing up for texts and she just brushed over it like it didn't matter. Then finally after telling her I needed some kind of assistance with my claim since I could not reach Laura Gonzalez via any of the provided contact methods she decides to help. Only she lied. She said that I had to go with one of the auto repair shops they are partnered with because they have deals with hem of course. I took my car to one the repair shops that act as their adjusters and showed them the work that needed to be done then I was told they had to talk to them first and so the repairs would look different. Yall these people are scammers. I understand you cut deals with insurance companies for the business but the two invoices were completely different not just the price the actual work they were going to do on my car was considerably less than when they originally quoted me. I would have been fine with the cost being lowered if the type of work that was being provided was the same. I questioned the auto repair shop Crash Champions in Ontario about why they were not doing the work they originally said needed to be done to repair damages and he said well all that work was not necessary. ??? So either you jacked up the amount of work that needed to be done unnecessarily so that you could make more money off of me ? After this I contact Dianna Wilson because of course my actual claims adjuster was still MIA and let her know that I don't feel comfortable using these guys after they told me this and she says it's too late they already sent over an adjustment so I have to use them. At this point, I am fiscussing this with friends and considering legal consult because thinks are starting to seem fishy. I called and talked to multiple claim adjusters and let them know I had questions about my case. They confirmed Dianna Wilson lied about me having to use one of their auto adjusters. She also lied about not being able to go with another adjuster since I decided I did not trust the original adjusters. I called Dianna to ask her about the discrepancies and she LIED AGAIN and now st a red to say she never said that. Oh and she also lied saying she was listen to the recorded calls and give me a call back. She took a cue from Laura Gonzalez's book because I am still waiting to hear from Dianna Wilson. I've called and left voicemail and nothing just disappeared after assuring me she would reach back out. Oh and I also tried to contact her manager Stephanie and left several voicemail. You guessed it! She still has not returned 1 call. I have not talked to her once. Not sure what they are doing in the ventura district office but I hate I had to deal with people who do not like to do their jobs. Don't be lazy. don't be dishonest. This is the career choice you chose so do your job and do it correctly. My experience with this company has been awful. It is unfortunate that I had to deal with them because the person who hit me was insured through them. Thankfully I am not! I do not advise anybody else use them either. This company is one big headache which is the last thing you want to deal with
Negative experience: Triple aaa uses gold line towing for all its service calls in which that is the most unreliable towing company to use they take their time getting to the site where service is needed they have no hustle and are extremely rude also make sure your car doesn’t get towed there because there they will steal all your valuables then play dumb about it they stole $4000 worth of tools off my truck so triple aaa needs to switch up tow company’s that’s forsure that’s why I give bad review they’re setting their customers up for failure
Negative experience: I just got off the phone with someone at Aaa and Ventura. I asked a simple question as to why my insurance is so high. The response is very rude and she was quick to just have me hang up.
Negative experience: stranded for 3 hours nobody knows and doesn't give me an explanation.
Fantastic experience: Long story Short: Gus did an amazing job getting out here, and even corrected a destination error on the go, realizing that a transmission place wouldn't be fixing tires. Saved a headache! Short story Long: I had a blow out, i guess? My tire picked something up going around a corner and was making noises for a mile or so, and then whatever it was propelled out and ricocheted around in the wheel well. I thought it must have been a rock or something until the onboard computer suddenly announced that i had lost about 29 psi in seconds. Not a fun day, but Gus saved it, and saved me a lot of trouble with his quick thinking and questioning an oddity in the itinerary. Thank you again, Gus!
Fantastic experience: Visited at first open on a Wed to get my Passport photo taken in 15 mins. 10 min wait, 5 mins to get photo for $10.
Fantastic experience: Car wouldn’t start. Stuck at Sams club. Called for service. Scott came with a battery truck. Checked it out. Found out I needed a tow. Stayed with me until a tow truck was on the way. Tow truck driver was fantastic also. Couldn’t ask for better service
Fantastic experience: Quick and efficient process of my registration renewal.
Negative experience: Left me stranded for 3 hours
Fantastic experience: Mariah processes my DMV transaction quickly and easily for me. She even installed my new License Plates on my car.
Positive experience: Nice, friendly, and helpful service.
Positive experience: Better than DMV and if you ever need a tow, you'll be covered
Fantastic experience: So helpful! Quick and friendly
Fantastic experience: It's where I go for DMV or notary services. Most of the time it's just a short wait to get called. Most clerks are knowledgeable about DMV issues and can get you in and out quickly.
Fantastic experience: I love that I can take care of my DMV stuff here.
Fantastic experience: I was in and out to get my vehicle registered. Quick service!
Negative experience: The supervisor in the corner with the weird thick eyebrows is very rude and miserable.
Fantastic experience: We've had membership for years. It's convenient to be able to go in for DMV services.
Fantastic experience: They are always so helpful and kind
Negative experience: Absolute worst experience with them in regards to auto insurance. Will not be renewing my policy. Insurance agent lies to get you to sign up and than when it comes time to get my reimbursed it is no where to be found.
Negative experience: This branch doesn't deserve the 1 star rating because of the claims department supervisor. The most rudest and unprofessional women I have ever encountered anywhere. Her name is Carol and she is seriously giving AAA a bad reputation with her lack of resolving customer issues all due to her poor customer service. And she is responsible for this department?! And when asked for branch manager's number she asked for what? I make the decisions. Despicable!
Negative experience: The claims supervisor is so rude and unprofessional. She refused to give me her branch managers name and number! If she really has the last word than why was she so adamant about her not giving me the number? It is truly disgraceful and a shame that after being a loyal customer for so many years- paying for car insurance, membership, home insurance, this claims supervisor showed no professionalism or respect for customers. And she works at this branch! Her name is Carol! Shame on you!
Negative experience: 1 hour wait for them to take my money. DMV registration renewal.
Positive experience: The staff in all the Aaa are friendly . They told ne everything i needed to do to register my new used truck .Thank you AAA !
Negative experience: Bought a used motorcycle from a dealer in fla. Waiting for delivery. Called aaa to see if they could register and license it for me. I'm a member. Here's the rub. 7 times i left my tel ,# for a callback as you end up having to do everytime even though they say on recording you can hold for a person. So you do. Then a recording always comes on after about 5 mins saying 'forget it, we're too bz, leave your number and membership #'. So, out of seven tries over 5 days i got 2 callbacks. My fault 1st one, sound turned off. 2nd one came in while i was on the phone. I looked and it said 'spam risk' so i killed it. It was their number. After that i would leave a msg with my question and ask that they just answer my question if they got voicemail. Since then zzzzzzzzzz. Great place. They should just have a message right away on the phone when you call 'we're too bz for you, leave a msg and good luck getting a call back'.
Positive experience: Always a busy place, but they seem to get you in quite quick with alot of staff available. I've been here two or three times, the first time the guy was great that got me my passport photo etc. I went a week or so ago and the lady that did some DMV stuff was kinda brash and off putting. She was somewhat helpful and knowledgeable but she seemed irritated when asked questions.. and I hold a Platinum membership kinda feel like service is dependant on who you encounter.
Fantastic experience: This place has everything ! Very helpful too. I wish I would have gone sooner !
Negative experience: A sad shadow of AAA former self. Customer service is terrible. Good luck resolving anything if you have a problem. I guess it's better than the DMV.... barley. The only reason and I mean the only reason to use AAA Is roadside assistance.
Fantastic experience: Received alot of help from Steve. He went out of his way to set our trip up right.
Fantastic experience: I love our local branch, they are always so helpful and friendly. Most visits have fairly short wait times, I'm really glad we are with this company.
Fantastic experience: Loved the speedy service, in and out on my 30 min lunch break walked out with my new tags and registration card , the gentleman that helped me was very courteous and knowledgeable
Fantastic experience: Don't have to stand in line at the DMV thank you AAA
Fantastic experience: Great. Waited a little. More than usual Always helpful and easy
Fantastic experience: MY VISITS ARE A GREAT FEELING CAUSE AAA REALLY PROTECTS ME WHEN I'M DRIVING MY CAR GREAT INSURANCE
Negative experience: I asked for cruise brochures for a specific cruise line. When asked what region, I stated I wanted them all. The person at the counter, who was not wearing a name tag, responded "Well there's about 80 of them and I'm not getting them all." How rude! A better response, to a Member, could have been "I'll see what we have available." I'll do business in Camarillo or Santa Barbara when I'm ready to book.
Positive experience: Long wait in line, worthless service!
Fantastic experience: Dorma is the best, I only work with her regarding my insurance. I recently had a incident with someone there. The manager reassured me that he'll take care of the situation.
Fantastic experience: Was so happy that we could wait inside building while waiting to conduct our business. No longer having to wait in our cars!
Positive experience: The appointment setting outside (due to Covid-19) is really organized. Wait times are dependent on the time of day and how many employees are inside. That said, when I did finally speak to a representative I was disappointed that only 2 people were available to help customers. I was able to take care of a title transfer and renew my registration quickly.
Fantastic experience: I didn't have to wait long, great place to go for Automobile insurance and being a Triple A member has great benefits and perks and customer service is outstanding.
Fantastic experience: Love AAA. So well worth their membership. I went in there and changed my auto insurance policy and transferred ownership of a vehicle and all that is entailed in that in less than 5 minutes
Fantastic experience: I would like to compliment the woman working in the back next to the seating! She made sure to help me even while taking her lunch.. Then made sure an elderly man who obviously had issues with his swollen legs was served next in line! Thank you i wish I would have gotten her name!
Negative experience: Bad management... I am disable/60 percent VA. VIETNAM VET. Some staff not helpful. I have had AAA membership 10 years. This past visit to the Ventura office made me go to another Insurance company.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly and it's convenient .
Fantastic experience: Prompt, competent, helpful, friendly!!
Fantastic experience: Just finished insuring and registering my van! I can now drive and not be scared! I went to AAA instead of the dmv their happier line's are shorter they insured my vehicle i got renters insurance paid my registration and got my tags in one stop. I love AAA
Positive experience: Very helpful but Monday is not a good day to go for DMV service Take a chair with you
Fantastic experience: Unbeatable prices, incomparable service!
Fantastic experience: Never disappointed when going to this or any AAA......
Fantastic experience: Best bang for your buck. Great service and didn't take too long.
Fantastic experience: There is a desk clerk at the entrance, then he will take your name, info and reason for your being there. Immediately they will put you on a waiting list, and when it's your turn you will get a phone message. I was there to register a car, it took me about an hour but it when fast waiting on my car
Fantastic experience: GREAT SERVICE BY AGENT TJ, AND LOWER PREMIUMS THAN ALLSTATE WITH COMPARABLE COVERAGE FOR MY HOME AND AUTOMOBILES. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AAA AUTOMOTIVE CLUB OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA IN VENTURA FOR ALL YOUR INSURANCE NEEDS.
Negative experience: Pay the membership fee to wait outside for 2hrs to avoid the 1 and 1/2 hr wait at the DMV
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff eager to help everyone
Fantastic experience: they were excellent and quick did a good job And Referred me to others as well!
Fantastic experience: Went to renew my tags and was in and out in less than 15min.
Fantastic experience: Always great service.
Fantastic experience: Great one stop for. Vehicle and travel and insuranxe
Fantastic experience: Very well organized i was there for my wife's car tags. My vist was less then six minutes. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Great service like always
Negative experience: Registered at AAA to get texted when they were ready to help me. They never got to me was wanting for two hours its horrible over there no good not satisfied
Negative experience: Unprofessional & very poor service from management at this AAA Site. The staff called the cops on some old man for putting his mask right before he got into line. They yelled & cussed him out. Shame on whoever is manager here. It may have been 2020 & everyone was on edge but still no excuse.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff. Plenty of distancing between customers. Very clean environment.
Fantastic experience: Always very helpful and much easier than the DMV.
Fantastic experience: Easy access polite staff quick efficient processing. Thank you AAA.
Fantastic experience: Very safe organized and clean. Great help today.
Fantastic experience: You still have to wait in the line but they're pretty quick
Fantastic experience: Great fast service
Fantastic experience: No appointment needed. You need to wear a face covering and there are lines to stand in before you enter the building unless no one is in line. No restrooms available due to CoronaVirus
Fantastic experience: They were very cautious about COVID-19, and I got everything done very quickly! Very nice experience.
Fantastic experience: Darren Greene was great to work with. I was in and out in minutes. Great job.
Fantastic experience: Very accommodating. I like that they practice social distancing and wear mask. I feel they care for their clients. Thanks AAA's
Fantastic experience: The DMV website couldn’t complete my registration online (it kept having an error) so I went to AAA and got it done in less than 15 minutes. I received my tags on the spot. Remember AAA handles some DMV services!
Positive experience: Because of Covid-19 everything is conducted outside, just make sure you have all your documents or you may be wasting time. It took me about 30 minutes to get my Prius 2021 tags. I got my car smogged, cert transmitted then went to AAA wit my DMV papers. They take everything inside with my payment check and process it then bring out the completed papers and tags with DMV docs. BTW, I'm seeing a lot of plates with expired tags some even over a year old!
Fantastic experience: Great service and friendly atmosphere!
Fantastic experience: Very professional and covid-19 safe always a pleasure with AAA
Fantastic experience: I love doing business here! So much easier than DMV! The staff has always been nice and they are always very helpful!
Negative experience: They left me stranded for over two hours on the side of the road, and never showed up. Can't recommend ever, two senior citizens with the plus membership. They suck big time.
Fantastic experience: I have only had the best experiences there,. Quick service, felt safe and cerdios service
Fantastic experience: Extremely helpful. Called in prior to visiting and they were able to assist with all questions.
Fantastic experience: Great people with awesome service.
Fantastic experience: AAA DMV services are awesome.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service, thank you.
Positive experience: Easy place to handle DMV stuff
Positive experience: Asian us us office and people they have many services besides roadside assistance people are extremely nice and helpful. Even with the coronavirus is best to make an appointment or speech to somebody first. Right now that they do have a line they do social distance and take temperatures and they let people maybe not more than five or six people in at one time so when somebody leave someone else goes in. But overall it's great to have AAA.
Fantastic experience: Help as soon as I got their, very proffesional employees
