Fantastic experience: Another great golf trip with my buds...location perfect, breakfast good, staff great, lunch in clubhouse very good, rooms are getting a bit worn, but the view is wonderful and very quiet...love the golf course...mike

Fantastic experience: Just played the course with my dad today! This is one of the best courses I have played for the price. The bag guy, the pro shop guy, and the starter were all great. I hope to go fishing sometime with the oldest and best starter in the area. The course had its difficult parts and it easy parts. It was a great balance.

Positive experience: Did not stay at the resort -- golfed on the course & ate at the clubhouse restaurant. The food & restaurant service/servers were great. The course was in good condition & the greens were fantastic (wicked fast, but that's how I like them.) One of our foursomes had their cart die. They waited over 25 minutes for a replacement cart - very unacceptable for a course of this quality & green fees. The pro shop staff was very nice, but many of the other golf staff our group of 16 encountered were pretty rude to us.

Negative experience: Cleaning services failed to provide clean towels to several of our villas. Breakfast was 3 meals short the 1st day. Breakfast sucks anyway, portions are small and bland.

Fantastic experience: Excellent course. 'Condos' were great.

Positive experience: Honestly can't speak of the rooms as I am not willing to spend the money for a one or two day visit. Other than that, the course was great looking and very well kept. The staff were friendly and helpful and willing to put a pause on my game due to inclement weather. I'd prefer a partial refund at least but I mean if I continue the game then I see that as a win.

Negative experience: BEWARE! Talamore has a policy of keeping your deposit you had to put down to reserve your event. Their written policy is ambiguous and implies when you read it you may cancel 31 days prior to your event. I cancelled 42 days prior and they refused returning our substantial deposit. Their definition of “Booking date” is the day you booked, not the date of your event Booking. This, in effect, means you lose your deposit anytime after the day you booked your event. . So they refused to return our deposit on that basis and dared me to refute the charge to my credit card. Our country club group had gone there for years. Not any more.

Fantastic experience: Great place for top tracer golfing

Fantastic experience: In 1991, the owners of Talamore Golf Club handpicked Rees Jones to design the golf course. They were looking for a one-of-a-kind golf course in the Sandhills, and Jones solidly delivered! Talamore features over 150 ft. of elevation change, lakes, wetlands, massive bunkers including waste bunkers, and towering longleaf pine trees. Jones created Talamore to be more of a thinking man’s golf course, one which requires position and control over brute strength. You’ll have to manufacture shots if you want to score well. In 2017, Talamore made some monumental changes to the green complexes. They were restored to their original 1991 dimensions and the putting surface was changed from Bentgrass to Champion Bermuda. They now have a truer roll and a lot more speed. In addition, 5-foot TifEagle Bermuda green collars were also added around each green. Many bunkers were removed, and several areas were re-contoured to blend in with the surrounding terrain, providing more forgiveness in the landing zones and around the greens. Talamore is also home to the only sod wall bunkers in the Sandhills area. Talamore worked with Ecobunkers USA to create these wonderful sand traps because they are a lot easier to maintain. On average, 3-5% of any well-designed golf course is occupied by bunkers, yet they typically eat up 25-35% of the maintenance budget. Ecobunkers used layer upon layer of recycled Astroturf to create the sod-wall effect - as many as 5,200 pieces – per bunker. This eliminates soil erosion, edging, plugged lies, and burrowing animals and makes maintenance of each bunker a lot less time-consuming. Depending on your needs and desires, Talamore has several lodging options. Talamore’s Golf Villas offer wonderful amenities and panoramic views of Talamore’s signature holes. Inside, you’ll find plush and well-appointed accommodations including spacious living and dining rooms, bedrooms with two full-size beds, and full kitchens. Each living room and bedroom has cable TV and wireless Internet access. There’s also a washer and dryer in each unit if necessary. Other on-property amenities include a gracious southern style Clubhouse, a pool with cabanas, and a guest hospitality suite complete with an outdoor BBQ. The accommodations and lodging at Mid South are second to none — three-bedroom units with 1,800 sq. ft of total comfort. Everything in the condos is top-shelf and they need to be seen to be appreciated! Recently, new accommodations were unveiled. The Brooks and Palmer Cottages are spacious and amenity-laden, conveniently located just minutes from Talamore and Mid South. Both feature 4 bedrooms with 4 queen-sized beds, 4 full-size beds, and 4 baths, and comfortably sleeps 8! Each has a full kitchen, TVs in every bedroom, and big-screen TVs in the game room and living room. There’s outdoor dining for 8 on the old-school brick patios, a Weber grill, cornhole, and a separate firepit. Area with additional seating. What more could you want? Talamore offers some incredible golf packages that include golf, accommodations, breakfast delivered to your door, and a pig roast on Mondays and Thursdays. You’ll be hard-pressed to find another golf resort in the area that offers so much! When packaged together, the Mid South Club and Talamore are a formidable pair that will rival any two-course combination in the area. Throw in a few other local courses and you’ve got a golf vacation that will produce lifelong memories.

Positive experience: Been going for 4 years, the golf is great. Every condo we have ever stayed in, the hot water temperature in the showers is ridiculously low. Nothing like a freezing shower on a morning in the 30s! Severe fall risk associated with the height of the tub/showers. Even the 6’5” member of our group has difficulty.

Fantastic experience: Amazing location for a golf trip in the Southern Pines/Pinehurst area. Rooms were spacious and clean, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms and 2 baths was great for 4 people. Washing machine and dryer in the unit so you don't need to overpack. We had a view of #18 Talamore and enjoyed sitting on the bar stools on the balcony. Breakfast was delivered in our timeslot. The only improvement I would like to see is the Cabana showers could use some work. We had checked out and then played Talamore, having a place to shower is great but no table or bench to put anything in the bathroom... just a chair, also need a hamper there for the wet towels. We can't wait to go back next year!

Fantastic experience: We didn’t stay at the resort but everything about the golf experience was great. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The golf course was in immaculate condition, the greens were fast, the fairways were plush, the bunkers were in great shape but nasty to get out of. We stayed for lunch and the food was good and the prices were reasonable. Will definitely be going back.

Negative experience: Absolutely not worth the price for the golf. Course maintenance could be a lot better and location and history doesn’t mean you’re as good as No2 or any Pinehurst course. Better value at knollwood somehow.

Negative experience: Had a group of 14 guys play the course the afternoon of 6/2. Course layout was great but the conditions were not worth the price. The service was absolutely horrible. They did not have enough carts to accommodate play and the staff was rude and not helpful. The restaurant staff was the same. Extremely rude to our group.

Negative experience: Lovely course. Llamas are very cute. That is what I wrote a few weeks ago. Today I was excited to bring my husband back to play this course. We had a 10:24 tee time. The starter , a friendly lady allowed a foursome with a 10:33 tee time to go ahead of us. ( not sure why) It took 45 minutes, I kid you not, for us to tee off the 2nd hole. That is how backed up it was.Overbooked, no marshal to encourage less experienced players to quicken their pace. This is Pinehurst. Golf courses here usually know how to manage and not overbook. There is no excuse when you are charging over $100 a round. Amature hour. So disappointed.

Fantastic experience: This place is beautiful. Lightning fast, true greens. Great friendly staff. Be back next year and maybe play twice on our annual trip to Pinehurst. Whole course is in premium condition.

Negative experience: The course was in good shape, however, poor management of pace of play ruined the round. 25 minutes a hole is unacceptable and nothing was done to correct the problem.

Only minor negatives would be few wet spots in fairway or edge of rough. Everybody was friendly in pro shop and snack bar!

Fantastic experience: Wide fairways, many forced carries, water, lots of well placed bunkers, 6800 plus yards from the tips, this is one of my favorites in Pinehurst. The staff is awesome and the carts have a micro GPS attached to the side, helping with yardage numbers. The greens are quick with many undulations. The course is forgiving, fair, and fun. The elevation changes are really interesting.

Fantastic experience: Talamore was great! The accommodations were excellent, breakfast was delivered each morning. Our package included a very nice, very clean 2br/2bath townhome with full kitchen, balcony, nice amenities, with 3 rounds of golf included. Lorraine at the office set up everything for us, including tee times. It was perfect! The Mid South course had some trickiness to it, but we were lucky to have a member with us who knew the course well and gave us some good tips. We also had a great experience eating at Iron Works, just down the road. Fabulous! We will definitely go again.

Fantastic experience: Played 18 was a beautiful and fun course. The staff was very helpful making sure we knew the ends and outs of the course. The Llama are really cool experience while golfing as well
