Negative experience: Went here today and wasn’t happy! Got to the counter for a renewal of my license and had to pay 120 for my renewal and was told I had to have my birth certificate to get a star on it to travel on an air plane. Are u serious? So now I have to go back and pay 30 dollars more for the stupid star because no one informed me about bringing anything to my appt at all. How am I supposed to know about bringing things if I’m not informed when I make the appt. I should have been informed at the time of my appt. Not happy with this AAA at all. Won’t use this one again.

Positive experience: License renewal was quick and efficient. Cust service was lacking.

Negative experience: Went to get a license renewal, gentleman behind counter is pretty rude and seems to hate his job. They took care of me fast. My license never arrived, which isn't their fault. But i went to ask him about it and he rudely just told me to call the number on the paper and he can't help. Which was probably true but no reason for the attitude.

Fantastic experience: Wow.... talk about "membership having benefits.....". This AAA office is the epitome of that statement! Made a reservation online to renew my driver's license (super simple, plenty of available dates/times), showed up 20 minutes early and was greeted by Patrick who very polite and welcoming. Sat for less than 5 minutes. They had me out even before my appointment time! Why would anyone EVER sit at a DMV office.... I certainly won't ever again!! Thank you AAA Cromwell!!

She went above and beyond to make sure everything was covered from updating my voter registration and setting up my real ID. Things I needed to do eventually but wasn’t thinking about and she took them off my list. I was in and out in about 20 minutes and crossed multiple things off my list thanks to Sara!

Fantastic experience: So today I had to renew my license. I made an appointment online for 11:35. I walked in the door at 11:20 and right away they called me to the desk. The process went so fast I was in and out within 15 minutes. This is why I prefer to go to AAA to renew anyting versus DMV. If anybody needs to renew their license or ID I definitely recommend just going to AAA you will avoid all long lions. Plus the staff there was very helpful and took care of what I needed.

Negative experience: Wow. I needed to rent a car. They said AAA rates are good. They want $1000 per week thru Enterprise but when I called enter Enterprise directly they said $275 per week. What’s up with that.

Positive experience: I needed a passport photo and a notary to renew my handgun permit. I was able to get both at the same time. Bring an AAA member the cost for both was $3. I was pleasantly surprised. I’d refer every member to visit the store today. Good customer experience.

Negative experience: Customer service ! Supervisor’s voicemail cover at AAA said Leave a message and I will contact you AT MY CONVENIENCE!!! That says a lot about how they value customer service. I have been contacting them for a week to find out if they received my email with the information they requested about the damage their tow truck did to my car, and am still waiting for someone to confirm they got the information.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here for years to get my license renewed. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can schedule appointments now which is great. I was able to get in and out in 20 minutes to renew my license.

Positive experience: Had an appointment to have my license re taken for the real ID that is not required in Connecticut. I was very lucky to have made contact with a live person several months ago when looking for help. I found this person only after spending a ridiculous amount of time online trying to schedule an appointment and I also attempted to call the DMV which was a joke. So having made the appointment through this contact that I luckily found, I was able to go into AAA to get the picture taken after providing them with the required documentation. Would have given five stars if you were able to talk to somebody live come an actual person and not a machine.

Negative experience: In Dec (once about RealID and said I need book an appt) and Jan (twice misunderstanding), I went to Triple A's and the woman got me all misunderstanding (due to deafness) and I decided to gather whole bunch of proof documents the last time and the were ALL Booked until the next month. I told a woman that I'm deaf and she didn't write or pull mask down so I can lip read. She circled at bottom of RealID infos... this is what we need. I was upset and left. When I got home to book another appt, all full until Feb. I need my license renewal extension will expire end of Jan. So I booked at Nutmeg DMV Express and ended up paid $8! When I got there a week later, they told me that I don't have the certificate of marriage, but I do have it sealed by the church. Now this guy at Nutmeg explained clearly. A guy said I need certificate of marriage BY TOWN HALL not Church. He pointed the town and I asked you mean go up to South Windsor to get Marriage Cert. He said YES. Too bad I can't even book at AAA, made appt next week at Nutmeg. If these people explained more clearly, I would have it done it at AAA and no charge but paying for license!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I visited this location to get my driver’s history. I was impressed to see this location was so well organized during the Covid-19 times. The process was smooth and the staff were very friendly.

Fantastic experience: I went to renew my license on a rainy day and had not called to make an appointment. So I showed up and luckily took pity on me and got me in to renew. I sat off to the side for about 5 minutes while I waited. Watching one woman with some false lashes get her photo taken and then register to vote. I was so happy to see she was now registered! What an easy process to get people in the system. Then it was my turn and it was a smooth pleasant process. I used cash to pay for everything and they even had change for hundreds. I got my real license about a week later in the mail. I will be back!

Fantastic experience: Had an appointment to renew my driver’s license. Greeted promptly outside of the office by staff due to COVID-19 to check in. Once inside, the staff was wonderful and I paid and had my license picture taken all within 10-15 minutes after arriving. Service was superb and I would highly recommend anyone needing a license renewal to visit Cromwell AAA.

Negative experience: This place used to be great. Quick, friendly and helpful. Times have clearly changed. Now they are rude and hard to deal with. Showed up for a lost license was turned away and told to make an appt. All that was open for a week was an hour and half time slot the next day. Show up for my appt and am told it’s a 15 min wait. Maybe I am the wrong color or something but the person who came after me for the same time slot was let in first. Sad to see this place fall so far so quick. I will not be returning. Very frustrating.

Bet they don't need that much documentation when it comes to taxes. Got it done in a few minutes. Good place to go to get it done but be sure to have everything you need.

LeAnna, I believe her name was, sat us down asked what we were looking for, and in no time at all we had just what we wanted plus a AAA discount! All that from pretty lady with a great smile.... and in less than an hour!!
