Negative experience: I'm there @ 6:45am for a state inspection, just to be told I can't be seen because I don't have an appointment . At worst, I should have a 2 hour wait ..... I'm ok, I'll take my business elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: Twice now I’ve come in with a flat tire. They didn’t have the exact tire I needed but they found one elsewhere and went to pick it up. That way I only needed the one tire. On both occasions I was in and out in under 2 hours. Very professional, yet friendly and accommodating!!! Highly recommend!!!
Negative experience: They will try to up-charge you on everything! I will not be returning here and advise you to find somewhere else! Oh and to all - beware of the hidden $40 fee “they charge all customers” for a service charge? I only found out about it after being prompted to swipe my credit card. When I thought it seemed a little higher than quoted, I asked to see the breakdown. it was only then that I was shown the receipt which showed this never disclosed charge. Shame on you AAA. I’ve been a loyal member for emergency car care for 25+ years - but will never use your auto care shop again.

Negative experience: Maybe because I'm a woman, I hope not, but I didn't have a great experience with car care here. My check engine light came on and I took it in and the diagnosis was $150 and they told me I needed all these things done, one of which was a chemical cleaning process, very expensive, but if it revealed that my piston ring was broken, my engine was shot. Since all this together was over $2000, I said why dont we just do that first to see? The clerk thought that was a good idea though he didn't suggest that. After talking to other mechanics who advised me NOT to use AAA to do the work they suggested, I still had to pay them the $150 fee. I'm not pleased at all and would never recommend them to anyone. Thought the AAA meant honesty and value but not in this case. In the end, I only had to repair spark plugs and a vent valve. Use Meineke in Pineville!!!

Negative experience: UPDATE: Their "engine cleaning" burned up the catalytic converter to a cost of $2000!!! You don't "clean" something that is overheating when it comes into your shop!!! Nice job, AAA!!! I don't know how these people sleep at night. A customer brings their car in for overhearing and then sells them an oil change and an "engine dynamic restoration"?!!! How about replacing the thermostat like any textbook operation would have done? Either they're absolutely inept or they're just selling stuff to squeeze money out of their customers. Either way, what a joke. This place is the reason that no one trusts mechanics!!!
Negative experience: I've been a AAA member for decades but every time I've had to visit this location, I have had a negative experience. People are not helpful, the travel services have varied hours and everyone I spoke to acts like I'm interrupting their day. I've heard negative things about the auto care center here too so I have never taken any of my vehicles in. I believe they require advance appointments and charge just to look at a vehicle. Good for roadside assistance (if you have 3+ hours to burn & are desperate) but other than that these guys are a major disappointment. I've had much better experience with AAA in other states.
Fantastic experience: The team at AAA Steele Creek are amazing! My truck had a stuck sparkplug that had broken off when another garage tried to change my plugs. After several weeks and trying whatever they couldn't remove it. Ford Dealership wouldn't even touch it. Other shops wanted to just replace the engine. Steele Creek said "let us try we think we can do it". And did it they did! They ordered some special drill bits and was able to get it out and get me back on the road! So very grateful for them and their can do attitude!
Negative experience: Made an appointment for emissions check, they quoted 1 hour wait time when showing up. Then they try to upsale to an oil change. Fortunately it was 45 min and not an hour, usually this is supposed to be a 15-30 minute inspection. Didn’t like the fact of trying to upsell as well as slow inspection speeds.

Negative experience: I come for an inspection on Monday December 18th. Was told that they do not have walk in inspections available until after Christmas. Not a place to go if you want to get anything accomplished in the same day.

Negative experience: Drove all the way here for an international driver permit to be told I had to go to another location because they ran out of permits. Call ahead if you need a permit or any other needs so you don’t waste precious time and gas.
Positive experience: Did good service, but now having problems with tire indicator light. Tires pressure should have been checked when serviced. I disconnected the tire indicator when I bought truck. Now I can't reset.

Fantastic experience: Cannot rate high enough. Frank was incredibly helpful and went well above and beyond to help me get the best value. He laid out exactly what my vehicle needed and walked me through what was urgent and what could wait. He did not try to sell me a single thing I did not need. He was even able to help me save money. Excellent service.
Negative experience: This location used to be the best, but customer service has really taken a hit here. Frank is the worst when it comes to customer service, and they are no longer honest with repairs, more compared to Firestone now, especially air conditioning repairs. They will charge $190 bucks to only tell you that the compressor is broke and the freeon they just added was pointless unless you pay $1,700 for a new compressor.

He has taken time to explain it to my dad, when I have asked him to call Scott to make sure what is being done is the best plan. Fantastic experience: Recently, on 20th of January I changed my car battery by AAA mobile service. After change, car showed abnormal symptom. When it started, it stalled instantly. The AAA mechanic called to AAA headquarter and arranged towing service. My car was towed to Steele Creek service garage. It was late afternoon of Friday, Mr. Morgan the manager said it will be done by master mechanic on Monday. The manager was so kind to provide car service to my home. On Monday, 9:45am, I got a phone call from AAA with the word my car is fixed. I was so glad. They arranged car service to AAA again. My car was completely fixed. No question, no hassles they gave me the key. I was so impressed the responsive staff of AAA. I would recommend our friends and relatives to join AAA auto service.

They do not oversell and always try to fix what is needed to make your car run well and drive safe. We joined AAA just for the Car Care and have been using them as our auto shop for 4 years.
Positive experience: Edit: knocked off a star because last time I got my oil package done, they claimed they rotated my tires and they didn't. I can tell because there were two white marks on my right side tires, and both tires were still in the same place they were in when I came in. As another reviewer put it, I wish I could give this place 100 stars. Being someone with little experience with cars, the individuals that would at the Steele Creek AAA location are a blessing. I never feel like I am in the dark when working with them or that I am being sold something I don't need. Thank you yall for everything that you do, I feel like I cannot say it enough. <3

Fantastic experience: If I could leave a 100-star review, I would. That is how pleased I was with my experience with the AAA Steele Creek Car Care team. They truly are the best of the best. I was staying in Charlotte for two months on a temporary work assignment, and my 2005 van that had been running reliably for the 14 months I'd owned it developed a brake issue the weekend I came into town. Of course, it cropped up on a Friday afternoon when I was supposed to start work the following Monday. I was anxious to get the issue resolved, and after calling several other AAA garages that were either booked up or closed on Saturdays, I finally called Steele Creek and got through to service advisor Frank Capan who told me I could bring in my van first thing the next morning for them to have a look. As someone who is wary of outsourcing vehicle repairs and is lucky enough to have a father who doubles as my auto mechanic, I was unsure what to expect, but Frank and his team were amazing. Not only were they honest and straightforward every step of the way, but Frank also offered to call and speak with my father about the repairs, which made me feel respected and put my mind at ease about the possibility of being taken advantage of. About a month after my brake repair, my van overheated after a severe coolant leak, and I returned to AAA Steele Creek for a radiator and thermostat replacement and a coolant flush. Frank did everything he could to get me the best price possible, and he again walked me and my father through his recommendations prior to starting any work on my van. A week later, I returned for the third time after my radiator fan failed and took out my new radiator. They were unable to determine whether the failure was due to normal wear or an installation error on their part during the initial radiator replacement. After worrying that I would have to shell out several hundred dollars more for a second radiator replacement, Frank informed me that, due to the uncertainty, they would be covering the full cost of the repairs. On the same occasion, I let Frank know that my work assignment was coming to a close and I would be traveling home within the next two weeks. He encouraged me to come back in prior to my departure for a free vehicle safety inspection, which I gladly accepted. I am extremely grateful to Frank and the Car Care team at AAA Steele Creek, and I will definitely be a return customer whenever I find myself back in the Charlotte Metro Area. I would recommend them to anyone in need of a reputable garage.

Positive experience: Quick and easy service, and I love the emailed DVI (digital vehicle inspection) - it helps me keep up with my upcoming maintenance and means that they "show their work" when they suggest repairs. -1 star only because their lobby isn't great for waiting in - the Fort Mill branch has coffee and whatnot, but this one just has two chairs by the door to sit in.

Fantastic experience: First visit here after dealing with a location in Fort Mill, SC for years. Battery had died and needed to be jumped. After being told on Thursday in the Fort Mill location they were too busy to squeeze in a Battery check and may not get to it until NEXT WEEK, I tried the location in Steel Creek. What a pleasure. Received a friendly greeting and sincere interest in my problem. I was told by Adam, that although busy, he would get my car looked at some time in the afternoon and replace the battery if needed. He also offered to make an appointment for the next day if I preferred. Left my car and received a call later that day that it was done. Also received a requested price for new tires from Scott giving me three options. Under the Logo and Address on the invoice it states: "ONE TIME ON TIME COURTEOUS HONEST REPAIRS". This is certainly the case at this location and my go to AAA Car Care Center from now on. Thank you, Adam and Scott.

Fantastic experience: Exceptional Customer Service. This was my 1st trip to Steel Creek AAA. I went for a standard oil change and to have a diagnostic ran for some Tie rod issues. I was greeted by Frankie, he was top notch, caring, knowledgeable and very professional. He made me feel confident and rest assured in making the decision to have my Tie rod and struts repaired with AAA. The true bottom line for me is the cost was going to be $700 cheaper than the Steel Creek Firestone. I drive a Lincoln and to find out he has over 20 years experience with Lincoln’s he was able to give me great advice. I would give Frankie and AAA a million stars if I could. Please don’t hesitate to call Frankie for any repairs you may need, I promise you will not be disappointed.
Negative experience: No accountability was given for the mistakes they made when working on my car. Instead, general manager made it like they were doing me a favor by fixing their own mistake after I had to go back a second time of my engine light continuing to stay on. I Previously had good experience with the customer service at this location. This time I dealt with a guy who said he was the "General manager" who did not provide good & consistent customer service throughout the process (even after he kept changing from what he initially said was the problem with my vehicle). Every day was a different excuse and deflection of accountability for my car concerns. I feel when Paying for a AAA membership fee, it should mean the customer is held at a higher standard when they use the AAA car care services. I am very disappointed, and I probably will not be back.

Fantastic experience: I woke up to a flat tire after my brother's wedding. I needed to get home to a wife and a newborn. I got my vehicle towed to here and after explaining to them my scenario, bumped me up in line and fixed my tire in less than an hour. Was a great experience.
Negative experience: I am deeply disappointed with the service at AAA Steel Creek. Recently, I needed a minor tire repair which another service center had deemed fixable. Despite this, the technician at AAA insisted that I needed a new tire, citing that it is company policy. They will try to up-charge you on everything! In past visits, similar patterns have emerged, especially during vehicle inspections, where I was presented with an unnecessary list of expensive repairs. It's disheartening when a service you rely on lets you down like this, taking advantage of consumers’ trust and loyalty. I will not be returning here and strongly advise you to find somewhere else that values fairness and transparency. I hope AAA addresses these issues to restore trust and ensure fair treatment for all customers.

They are professional, comprehensive, and provide great customer service. They are always willing to talk through options and address any questions that I have. There's never been any surprises with their detailed inspection report or the services they recommend. For these reasons, I trust and recommend them 100%.
Fantastic experience: I always go to AAA for oil changes. While you can get it done cheaper somewhere else, what really sells AAA us the experience. As member you'll save $10 on the oil change, and I often get coupons for other auto services in the mail. It typically allows me to get a full synthetic oil change with new filter, free tire rotation, and a digital vehicle inspection for $49.99. The digital inspection is really what helps justify the rest of the cost. The guys will inspect a bunch of different aspects of the car and then compile a list of things that need urgent attention, future attention, and things that are in perfect shape; all while including pictures! Helps prevent scammy places that offer services without showing you anything. You can then shop around for good rates on preventative maintenance. By spending the $50 up front you can save a costly o repair later, or a dangerous situation. Waiting area is always clean and staff friendly as a well. This location and Fort Mill are always great!

Positive experience: Good service with your AAA discounted price. Oil change and tire rotation are a good deal. Don't be anxious to do everything on the complimentary inspection recommendations, but don't ignore them either. Many things you can do yourself like change a cabin filter (watch youtube).
Negative experience: Do not go here! Scott Everly is extremely rude and unprofessional. He lies to cover up poor work that wasn't completed properly which damages vehicles. Absolutely 0 accountability. He looks for any excuse to place blame elsewhere including searching through the interior of your vehicle and personal items. Any push back and he kicks you out of the store. They also take forever to do basic tasks. Go Absolutely anywhere else except this store.

Negative experience: Yesterday I asked my wife to take a Tire to AAA Steele Creek the following morning to get it repaired. It had a sizable Nail-Like object stuck in it. I was out of town so my son removed the Tire and put on the temporary Doughnut for her. Fast forward to today. My wife called from AAA in Steelecreek to let me know that the Car was on the lift and the mechanic told her the tire could not be repaired because the nail was too close to the side wall. While this could be true I did not understand why her car was on the lift as the problem tire was not on the car and she had not agreed to purchase a new one. He gave her a sizeable quote for a new tire plus alignment. He also told her that her tires were getting old so she would want to consider replacing all four tires. She called me on the cell and I asked her to get out of AAA and take the tire to a reputable garage that I had used many time. Long story short the tire was patched/plugged for $20 at the other garage and there are still many miles left on the tires. While I do not feel I should accuse AAA of misleading my wife as they may very well have thought that the nail was too close to the side wall I do feel they were trying to pressure her by putting the car up on the lift and pushing for new tires. She told me that she was feeling super pressured and nervous so my biggest issue with AAA is how they made my wife feel during the process. I personally will not be using AAA in the future as a result.

Positive experience: Went to change oil. Was impressed with clean and neatly arranged set up. Charged low for fully synthetic oil change. Added tire rotation for free. However, on my way back got Low Tire pressure warning alert. My son checked tire pressure and was surprised, tires were greatly under pressure, 26, 28, 29 and 26 psi. He brought up the pressure. This was discouraging why dud they not check tire pressure on completing the rotation?
