Fantastic experience: This was one of the best experiences I had with an auto mechanic. George provided the most amazing customer service and clearly explained the process and options. He helped an otherwise stressful situation become less so. I left feeling as though I had been treated with respect and integrity.
Negative experience: Very bad service with my alternator. And I've paid alot of money for an new alternator and 3 yr warranty and labor 9 months ago. And got bad news and they making excuses to not acknowledge the warranty and exchanges it out. They left my alternator hanging and the tow guy had to zip tie it so it won't hit and mess something else up. And no bolts back that they took off. And wanted me to wait. And I've never had such a bad experience with car shops like I've did with this one. And I am and been a AAA member. And prices was so high with a AAA discount. I will not ever go back here or any other AAA repair shops because of them ever again. Me and my money will be going to somewhere else now on. I am very mad and disappointed.

Positive experience: Went in for a simple oil change and had to pull back in because the windshield wiper fluid was not filled. Makes me wonder if the oil change was even done properly!! It may be a good idea to have most of the AAA car care centers reported to corporate and investigated....based on the reviews!
Negative experience: I recently had a very disappointing experience with the AAA location on Newhope Road. I spoke with the manager, who I believe is named Jorge, and unfortunately, the interaction was far from pleasant. From the very beginning, Jorge was rude, frustrated, and dismissive every time I called with questions. It felt like my inquiries were a hindrance to him, and his attitude made me extremely uncomfortable. Customer service is crucial, especially in a business like AAA, where clients rely on your help and guidance. Sadly, Jorge’s demeanor did not reflect the level of service I expected. I was hesitant to even discuss my concerns because he was so abrupt and rushed during our conversations. I am genuinely dissatisfied with the service, particularly the poor customer service at this location. I believe that Jorge’s behavior could continue to negatively impact other customers as well, and I hope AAA takes the necessary steps to address this issue. Customer service should always be a priority, and unfortunately, that was not the case here. --

Negative experience: My wife and I came to Triple AAA to check our brakes (soft pedal issues) believing it was likely a brake fluid flush issue. While their front desk service was impeccable (Matt - in particular - treated us phenomenally) - the diagnosis we received for the car was far from it. Triple AAA told us that our brake pads, front and back, were worn down to 2mm and that we needed to replace them as well as the rotors. With a brake fluid flush included (to be sure we solved the soft pedal issue), the full quote came out to $1,100 net-of-AAA-member-discount). Well - we aren't against car maintenance but figured the least we could do was seek a second opinion. So, we got the car inspected the very next morning by a local, family-owned mechanic and they advised us that our brake pads were only down to 5mm (halfway through their lifetime) and that the rotors did not need to be replaced until we replaced the pads. We proceeded to flush the brake fluids lines - as we initially suspected might be the issue - and the car's been braking just fine with no more soft pedal issues for a few days now. Case (seemingly) closed. Honest mistakes happen and I don't want to cast aspersions lightly. But, in this case, it's difficult to see how an honest difference of professional opinion is possible. The delta between "2mm, needs new rotors" diagnosis and "5mm, no need for new rotors" is huge. It turns out, the difference is measurable: $1,000. This experience has caused my wife and I to lose a lot of confidence in Triple AAA and especially this particular shop - which is unfortunate. The second mechanic we went to advised that, even more unfortunately, this does not seem to be an isolated incident. It's one thing to pay a premium for a larger shop to have a quicker turnaround; that's reasonable and a sign of market choice based on preference, need, etc. That's not what happened.
Negative experience: Been there 2x and have had horrible experience. On both occasions I told them what was wrong with the car and they call to tell me that they are charging 150.00 diagnostic fee. I said ok they are the experts they know more than me. They call me tell me this last time the engine is bad there is no oil. I said I know I told you that. I asked if they checked the pistons they said they don’t do that. I asked them what did I pay the 150.00 fee for they said to check the car the car. I asked what did they check they said the oil. Funny I told them everything that they needed to know. They literally repeated the same thing back to me. The only reason I went there because AAA was close to where my son car stalled and supposedly since I was AAA member I would get better service. Oh forgot to mention I took the car for an oil leak a month before. lol. Don’t go there save your hard working money.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this car repair shop. In the past, the mechanics seemed reliable. However, in our recent visit , the repair shop indicated that the brake oil was low, when we had a total brake oil and service two months before. The description of the work done did not match the receipt. I wonder what else was not done to standard. We have been members for over 30 years, and highly disappointed they did not meet AAA standards.
Fantastic experience: Excellent customer service. Dwayne was wonderful. He was very professional and friendly. He kept me updated on the status of my vehicle throughout the day and on the cost of the additional work that I requested. I really like the fact that AAA provides a warranty for their work as well.
Negative experience: They seemed like nice enough people, but they had issues with my alcolock ignition bethalizer that they said would have taken a few days to service my car, so I went elsewhere and got the work done that day. Had to drive to work, couldn't wait a few days. Had a shady-tree type mechanic feel about the experience.
Negative experience: I was scheduled 4a routine maintenance & inspection. Turns out AAA doesn't do inspections. But thats not what I was told when I called to schedule the apartment. The person scheduling the appointment talked over me saying "we do all of that, don't worry, thats what we do". However, when I arrived for my appointment I was told, 'sorry we don't do inspections' Wasted my time! I have a mind to cancel this membership.
Negative experience: This was the worst auto care I have ever had to deal with. I had a simple flat tire and I decided to have them all replaced. I had dropped off my car the day before and was told the job would be done between 10 and 11am. It was sitting in the exact same spot I left it at when I arrived the next day at 11. Then I was told I was next and the time would be 12 after this one job was completed. When I returned at 12 someone else was asking why their car was not fixed and they were told they were next. It is 2:15pm while I am writing this review and the car is still not done with the hood popped for some reason. $300 for “service” is far too much for this place and being led on and told I was next caused me to waste a day at work as well . . . . Just to get tires put on. Just an update. They didn’t even place caps on the new tires and I’ve had other complications since then. That whole place is nothing but a scam. Take your car somewhere else if you can.
Negative experience: Online store hours are inaccurate. Today the woman working for international driving permit said that she closed at 1730. We arrived at 1735. She was not willing to help us out.
Negative experience: Brought my girlfriend’s car in for service of a dead battery, knowing it was dead. After looking at the car for half the day they called me and told me the battery was fine and i could pay for a diagnostic to see what the issue was. Took the car home, checked the battery after having the car sit and it was in fact, still dead. Got it replaced elsewhere (where they also tested and confirmed it was dead). They also left the battery cover off the battery when they closed the hood and smashed it when they closed it. Additionally, when trying to resolve another issue, I was pulling the car around the back of their shop and when I was backing in I had the windows open and heard one of the employees call me a “dumbass”, thinking I couldn’t hear him. It’s condescending, predatory practices like this that make auto shops lose business. I hate to imagine how they would have treated my girlfriend if she went instead of me. After getting my oil changed at AAA every 6 months since I started driving, this experience has made them lose any future business with me.

Negative experience: AAA does not make it easy to speak to a human, preferring texting. They sent someone to Jumpstart my battery after I made it clear through several texts that I needed a new battery delivered and installed. When I finally talked to a person I learned that although they advertised that they provide this service, they do not. If I had known of that earlier, I would have found another way to get a battery instead of wasting my time waiting for them. I have paid for their service for many years and seldom used it. Reconsidering whether it is worth the hundreds of dollars spent over the years

Negative experience: Worst customer service. Deborah only says "uh huh" and "yeah" the entire time the customer is talking. Foes not follow back or resolve any issues that may arise. Does not sound confident in reassuring her help. Sounds like I am bothering her by calling. Tool free number is even worse. Carol Drake was NOT helpful. Extremely disgusting with service. I will be canceling.

Negative experience: Turned in vehicle for a job that was quoted to take 1/2 day. I had to call every afternoon to find out what was going because they weren’t keeping me updated. I kept being told again and again it wasn’t ready and wouldn’t be until next day, then the next day it still wasn't done, Kept having to make last minute transportation arrangements and cancel plans I needed to be at because I had no vehicle. Currently on day 4 with no car going into a weekend. Was told today - a Friday afternoon in the last few hours of business that they were finished. They would still not give me a straight answer if I could pick up my car today. Said they would call me right back and let me know and they never called me back by the time they closed. I had to get a rental car so I could get through the weekend after scrambling for rides to and from work all week. “They’ve had every excuse from a part showing up broken, to the can’t get a bolt off, to they didn’t know they were going to have to…” If I had known it was going to be all this I never would have brought it to them. Do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to say y’all always take care of me. George Spivey and Kari took care of me up front, and then Thinh Do was my tech. Thinh did an awesome job and George made sure to inform me every step of the way. I wanted to specifically shout out Kari. Dude made sure to check on so many people, and one lady in particular that had some issues he made sure to take care of specifically. Kari’s part of the reason I come to the new hope location. He helped me once at the old Western Blvd. location, and I’ve stuck with wherever he goes since.

Positive experience: In terms of customer service these guys are top notch as they go out of their way to get you in and out as quickly as possible (especially if towed in, which both of my daughters' cars have had to be). Where I get hung up is the price of parts, similar to other reviewers. My younger daughter has a 2012 Honda Civic and recently the starter went bad on it. I had to have it towed in on a Sunday and they looked at promptly the next morning (Kudos for the speedy review). They did mention there's a $150 diagnostic fee (which I feel is pretty high but not the end of the world) and came to the same conclusion I did, which is the starter is bad. The total bill for replacing the starter was $785, which was $380 for a remanufactured starter, $190 for the labor and the aforementioned $150 diagnostic fee. Where I have an issue (other than the minor beef about the diagnostic fee) is the price of the remanufactured starter. I called around as I felt this was extremely high and I could have gotten a brand new starter from Auto Zone, Advance, or Carquest for around $200, so I asked why so high for a remanufactured starter. The response was they had to commit to a set of standards and it comes with a 3 year, 36K warranty. I appreciate the warranty however considering I could nearly buy two new at retail prices for the same price as one remanufactured from AAA, not sure the warranty is worth it. Similar story regarding my other daughter's car, which needed a new transmission. AAA wanted over $4K for it however Aamco was just slightly over $3K. The difference? Part prices. Again, customer service is superb, and probably will continue to go there for oil changes and what-not, but for major work will shop around.

Positive experience: I have been using AAA Car Care for years. Everyone is friendly and professional. They do great work! I would not recommend sitting and waiting there, as they can get backed up, but they've always had my car done when they said they would.
Positive experience: Id say 4.5 had check engine light come on. Found out needed spark plugs replaced. Thought the price was a lil high but after I looked into it the price for the most part justified the job. They were courtesy and scheduled me right away. A week later my light comes on again and thought it was a plug issue but they checked it out and it was an a separate minor issue. Been here several times and they seem to do their best. Thanks for making my experience as positive as possible in negative situations.

Negative experience: They charged me 405 just to change 3 studs and I actually gave them one of the studs.. the parts alone came up to less than $60 so the rest was just a labor fee?? they weren’t even able to complete my oil change because they said something was wrong…. I am completely unsatisfied with their customer service and will not be renewing my membership. If this is how they treat their members I don’t want to be one .

Fantastic experience: I went to get my passport photo. It was an extremely quick and easy process. It took about 5 minutes, the photos printed instantly and were only like $6 compared to $12-16 at other places.
Positive experience: Only problem I had was when I called and they were supposed to mail me a trip ticket.. I think the new employee never continued and finished the request. It's been 6 weeks and never got the trip ticket. I had to go physically to the office with great results and picked up trip tickets.

Negative experience: If I could I wouldn't give this place a 1 star, bad Customer Service, between myself and my spent almost 1200 dollars, on 1994 Z28, just to be eventually advised that we needed a new engine, they do not take or return phone calls as promised the place kelp my car for about 2.5 weeks, for what was supposed to be a 3 hours job. I wouldn't recommend this sorry place to anyone unless you just want to waste your time and money. A poor excuse for a shop.
Negative experience: My truck would not start and I am not from the area. I have been a long time AAA member so I call for a tow service and saw there was a AAA service center right down the road. I had my truck towed there and they were very friendly. I knew it was something to do with the fuel management and assumed since I’m a AAA member and this is a AAA service center that they would do right and not try to price gouge. When they finally finished they told me on the phone that it was the fuel pump and that it would not be a difficult fix. After hearing that I was relieved because a few years ago I had to replace the fuel pump myself. I went to pick up my truck and the lady at the counter said “Ok after your AAA membership discount that’ll be $861.” I said that can’t be for my truck ma’am. Mine was just the fuel pump. So she referred me to the Service Writer. He went over the bill and said $129.99 for the Diagnostic, which I thought was a lot but ok, and $233.99 for labor. Then he proceeded to tell me $448.99 for the fuel pump. That is when I asked if they accidentally put a 4 in front of $44.99. He said no we regularly sell them for around $350. I explained that my friend and I put one in just a few years ago and that it couldn’t have been over 60-80 dollars. He said I don’t know where you can get one that cheap. I then went to literally any automotive website and showed him $45-$80 fuel pumps. I asked what brand they used and he said Delphi. So I looked up Delphi. None were over $300. I told him they do not make a $400+ fuel pumps at all. And why would they choose to use one that expensive. I understand he does not make the decision but I have looked up this brand for my truck and attached the photos along with my bill. He said it does come with a two year warranty though.

Fantastic experience: Timothy Collins and assistant manager Scott Pacinelli we're so gracious and helpful going COMPLETELY out of their way to help me and my wife out of a tough situation after a local roadside repair company broke our door handle and tried to stick us with the bull. Can't say enough good things about this store, it's managers, and area manager Eddie Coto. They have earned my business for anything car related going forward. Outstanding customer service!
Fantastic experience: They have always been prompt and courteous and gone out of their way to help us the many years that we have been going there...despite the changes and turnover in staff. They are ethical too; as one example, we had AAA service come out to charge our dead battery, the contractor said it was dead and needed to be replaced and it was original...six years old on a 60 month battery. We took it to AAA on New Hope, they checked it and said it still had a lot more life left in the battery rather than charging us needlessly for a $200+ replacement and they didn’t charge us for the battery testing. For those of you who have just moved here...having sat in the waiting area and listened to you....having some courtesy, respect and patience towards the staff will go a long way...yes repairs overall are expensive (but a dealer even more so) and there are a lot of people needing and waiting for service with what few independent repair places remain......remember that you are always welcome to enroll at Wake tech. to take several years of car repair courses, keep up on the manufacturer’s software updates, buy your own specialized tools, equipment, lease your own space, get insurance, hire staff, pay bills, get your own lift and oil pit, gain several years of experience and pay for the computer diagnostic equipment yourself....remember that when you are impatient over several hours or have to pay many hundreds of dollars...when you factor all of that in...it really is a value whether you regularly inspect and maintain your car following the manufacturer’s suggestions....or more likely not...

Positive experience: Mr. Scott, asst. mgr., was very patient as he listened to me explain my car problems. The manager gave me some misinformation about a service call. He corrected his error by offering to tow my car at no charge. I felt good about working with them.
