AAA Los Alamitos Insurance and Member Services

Negative experience: I have had an up-and-down experience with AAA. But at the end is awful. Their customer service is awful. A big part of my leaving is that three discounts that were never applied, though I called multiple time about it. Though I have asked them to stop calling, I have had the membership team calling me over and over and over again to get $55 for a membership, even though I’m paying them $150 a month for my insurance. I was gifted a membership long ago from my parents and now they’re saying that’s not good enough, so I suppose the money I’m already giving them is not good enough either. A particular membership dealer named Diana from Seal Beach decided to be so rude and hang up on me because she had an event when I needed to understand what was going on. I would not sign up for AAA insurance. I’m going with Mercury insurance because they have great customer service. Definitely better what I’ve experienced with Diana from Seal Beach, she needs some disciplinary action.

Fantastic experience: I felt compelled to write a review after having one of the best experiences during my first visit, despite dealing with a complicated billing issue. The manager, Ms. Strong, was exceptionally patient and knowledgeable. She had to make several phone calls to resolve the issue but remained calm and composed throughout the process. Thanks to her efforts, I was able to restore my membership, which had been wrongfully canceled.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time going into a membership office, needed to renew my car registration and change my address. DMV site was giving my issues, so opted for AAA. Don’t know why I haven’t done this before, it was 100 times better than going to the DMV or using their online services. Not sure what business is like other times, I went on a Friday afternoon and was in and out 10 minutes with tags in hand. Michael helped me out and was super helpful.

Negative experience: I went in to get help tranferring a title to my name. I got a membership to be able to utilize this place but the Hispanic guy at the DMV counter is worse than the DMV employees. He just seemed like he did not want to look into helping me out when the DMV said they could. Save your money on membership and just do things online or the DMV. They just want traffic in here to switch over to their insurance.

Negative experience: This location typically has a long wait. Long Beach office on Spring St is a much better experience.and there’s plenty of parking.

Positive experience: A good AAA office with fast service.

Negative experience: The service was very poor. If possible, using another branch is a way to save time.

Negative experience: Don't show up 20 min to closing.. they want to go home

Negative experience: In terms of travel Mary Felkner is the best! I would give it 5 stars but I recently called and Sean answered. Instead of helping me out with my insurance info that I needed ASAP he sent me back to voice robot and I couldn't get my info b.c. i did not have my policy number so when I finally got through again I had to wait for a call back which took 14 minutes and thus I could not complete what I needed done during my lunch. So now I have to wait until next week b.c. Monday is a holiday and I can't get my sticker for my car for my gated commty. UGH if he just took the time to look up my info and email it to me I could have saved all this aggravation!

Fantastic experience: Busy on Saturdays and weekdays is best if you can. Helpful folks as usual. Definitely closer and more convenient coming here vs DMV.

Negative experience: I’ve been with Triple AAA for a couple months now with no issues the last couple of months until now… during the month of may they had took my insurance for the month because I paid it on time. After that they had notified me that my insurance was late when it wasn’t because I have receipts of it being paid on time and them putting it as insufficient funds when it wasn’t. Than they charged me extra more for my insurance and haven’t given me back my money I already paid for my insurance and said they can’t do anything about it… I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you want this to happen to you and your money…

Fantastic experience: Heather was awesome at this AAA. She helped with DMV issues and though it was alot and confusing, she explained everthing, fixed what needed it and got us on our way. Thank you for help AAA.

Negative experience: Today I visited the Los Alamitos location and spoke with Ashley (B?) regarding changes I wanted to perform to my insurance policy. Ashley was extremely unprofessional, unknowledgeable, and malicious. Ashley did not communicate effectively or answer my questions accurately, usually answering too quickly without listening to the question. She wasted my time trying to find answers for multiple basic insurance questions ultimately needing to go ask her manager each time. Ashley would not help me add a vehicle to my insurance policy which I had intended to purchase later today citing that it is not allowed, even though I’ve had no issues adding a vehicle to my policy pre purchase ever before. In response I calmly and politely declined to finalize any changes to my account and left. Ashley decided to be malicious and leave a very long unnecessary note on my account detailing I was asking for something unreasonable. Horrible experience, and sincerely considering new insurance company.

Fantastic experience: The staff is genuinely happy to help you, which is so rare anymore! Monica is a gem. This office has all you need and more for travel and DMV.

Negative experience: 06/29/2022: Premiere Member 25+ years and review is long overdue...rarely visit an office however, all = every visit at the front check in desk the receptions are very curt and it's consistent experience, no charm school training for them...maybe there's a better alternative for this kind of service...

Negative experience: Got here at 12:15 and they close at 1 … been a member for 30 plus years and they stated they are refusing any walk ins. Seriously unprofessional

Fantastic experience: A nice young man helped me renew my auto registration there. I didn't receive my notice in the mail. He said, a lot of people didn't receive their statement either. Go figure, blame it on Covid. Have a safe day out there.

Negative experience: Been coming to multiple AAA offices and twice at this location. Had to wait over 1 hour for a 3 minute service. Staff was accommodating but staff shortage on one department was holding up the line.. had about 6 or 7 members ahead of me but it should not have been that long of a wait.

Negative experience: Was a member fir many years a d had a gold card. All of sudden I receive the normal white card and they had reasonable answer plus my insurance of 30 yr. Truck went up without any reasonable answer. Switch to a better insurance provider

Negative experience: This office really needs help in efficiency. They Open Late and Close early ( when most people are at work) so most of us need to come at lunch. Which means customers want to be serviced quickly and efficiently. I went in to get a paper notarized on my lunch break. There was a total of 3 people total in the waiting area. I asked how long the wait would be ( there were 5 employees in the main hub only one was this a customer) I was told I had 2 people in front of me and they all notarize so not long. During my wait I observed many people walking in and every time they asked a question it took 3 employees to help them, Instead of 5 employees helping 5 clients you have 3 employees helping 1 client on a questions about car tags, chiming in on their personal experiences and then moving off topic to personal conversations. Not only that but I walked up and asked how much longer only to be told soon. I then observed staff having conversations with customers that had nothing to do with services... like Buddy Hollies plane going down and what that did to the history of music. I walked out after 1 hour of waiting. I noticed a lot of employees in the cubicles just sitting instead of helping out. In the hour I was there only 1 person in front of me was called up. Honestly with grocery stores now doing DMV services, and booking trips online , and most car places and insurances now offer road side assistance I may just need to cancel my membership.

Fantastic experience: For anyone that doesn't know, AAA is an amazing place. It's what the DMV should be - they can take care of all of your car/government related issues immediately, quickly, and professionally. I updated my address, got new tags, and new registration stickers, all in less time than it would have taken me to find the right form at a DMV! Can't recommend it enough.

Negative experience: I called the first time and spoke to somebody regarding I have a dog and I'm trying to see if my insurance covers are and then she said that she had to transfer me to someone else and when the other person was transferred it's the same thing the woman is at the home and the second person help me out I was on there for about 40-50 minutes but the first person should have helped me as well and she didn't she just passed the book so that's not right and it's the place that's right next to where I live off of Los Alamitos and Seal Beach and that's who I called first but she was at home and she said she couldn't help me and she transferred it when the other person was at home and she did exactly what I needed help with so it's kind of sad how people pass the buck

Fantastic experience: Great place to renew tags and other DMV related stuff...that you've to pay a fee. But remember, that they only accept cash and you must be a member of AAA. OVERALL AAA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE IS A GREAT SERVICE TO HAVE...BECAUSE you never know when you are gonna need a tow or something else

Fantastic experience: This place is not huge, but they are super efficient and friendly. I am in and out of there very quickly and it is freeway close, which make it fast to get my registration paid and get back during a lunch break. It has always been a minimal line when I go by there during the week.

Fantastic experience: I needed to get an auto title transferred to me from an estate sale. The lady at the counter knew exactly what to do and kept us on track. And she was cheerful all through the process. She even had a screwdriver to lend me so I could swap out the license plates!

Negative experience: Great service/ office would give better rating if they took cards not only cash/checks. Even the self employed car wash guy working out of his truck takes cards. And this nation wide company doesn't

Before I even made it to the door I was greeted, asked what my purpose of the visit was, and given explicit direction on what I needed to do. The staff helped me through everything I needed done.
