Fantastic experience: This is a great office… An excellent and competent staff… Customer attentive… I wanted to get an international drivers license thinking it would take me a while so I put a lot of quarters in the meter not realizing that this place also has ample parking (!!) It took no more than 20 minutes to get everything done… An incredible satisfying experience… I don’t understand why there’s some negative complaints about this office… But I have never experienced such excellent service… This is the reason why I keep my AAA membership!!!!! if I have to come back to this office, I promise I’m gonna bring them a box of donuts!

Negative experience: I recently purchased a brand new battery for 200 and something dollars from AAA. The battery was absolutely no good kept on losing charge on purchasing the battery. They took my money quick fast trying to get them to change the battery. Seems like it’s taken five years so much run around so much problem to change one battery which was purchased 3 1/2 weeks ago I took the battery to be charged and checked the results from the place of business. The battery is no good not holding the charge. I submitted my receipt from the place of business with the report and it’s turning out to be a long wait

Positive experience: The customer service was good. Way faster than the DMV, but disappointed that they don't take walk ins. I was lucky that there were many slot times available. My family have been going to this location for a few years. For planning trips, updating passports, and I went there to renew my license. It is very convenient and there is a lot of parking.

Negative experience: I applied for an IDP and misunderstood the form (I thought the “effective date” was the end date for the effective period, and the date of departure would be the date the license took effect). The ladies working there did not verify the date with me. I paid for the first license, and then realized the error. I explained to the manager what happened, who told me I’d have to pay $20 again. I said I didn’t think it was fair that I had to pay again when they didn’t verify the date and the form was confusing. The manager Tanya then took a curt tone, rolled her eyes at me and said no one else has ever misunderstood the form. I went ahead and paid again but I’m very unhappy with the level of customer service and general rudeness from the manager at this branch. Highly unprofessional

Fantastic experience: Awesome experience at this AAA DMV location for a complicated transfer of custom plates. All the ladies were super nice and professional from the check in appointment lady as well as Star and Charity. Star was able to work out my complicated issue with patience and excellent listening skills and was able to accomplish what needed to be done for the transfer. Be nice to these ladies they they deal with a lot of clients in one day. Thanks Again

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were having trouble picking a place to go last summer. We wanted to stay local. Lydia suggested Atlantic City and also suggested the Ocean hotel. We booked with her and we had a wonderful time. The hotel was beautiful and smelled good too! She spoke to us about her travels to Atlantic City and it put my mind at ease without having to worry about picking the right hotel. She was pleasant and friendly. Because of this, we went back to Lydia when planning a weekend trip to Boston this year. We were having some trouble booking at the hotel we wanted to stay at. Lydia was able to secure a room for us at the hotel. Again, we were spared the headache of trying to book for the dates we wanted to stay and get a nice room. Fantastic experience: I tried to call before visiting because I did t want a wasted journey but the phones were constantly busy each time I called. So I took a risk and drove here from Rockaway (about half an hour in the car) to get my IDP. I did complete the application before coming here, and made sure to have my passport photos and the fee with me. It was not busy so I was seen right away, dealt with a very polite and informative employee who took my information, completed the IDP within ten minutes and I was on my way. I can’t recommend highly enough! Don’t be put off if they don’t pick up the phone.

Fantastic experience: Didn’t have high expectations when I came here, thinking I’d have a similar experience as we all do at the DMV. It was a last minute attempt to get an international drivers permit days before a trip. Well…what can I say…I had a wonderful experience here. The whole thing took less than 10 minutes and the older lady helping me was very very helpful. I’m probably going to come back here for all my administrative auto needs once I’m back states side.

Fantastic experience: UPDATE AFTER OUR TRIP: PLEASE NOTE THAT ANTIGUA DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE IDP FROM AAA! Upon arrival, we were told that they would not honor the permit. We had to get another IDP from AVIS and pay another $40!!! We needed to get an IDP for our vacation to Antingua. After reading some of the reviews, I had expected to arrive at AAA in the late afternoon and have some sort of long wait time. My other half and I already had our application completed prior to arriving. We were in and out within 15 minutes, including having them take our pictures. Star greeted us as we walked in, and Garfield handled everything for us in getting our International Drivers Permit. Great customer service for a business that's consistently busy!

Negative experience: Really bad service stay away waited all day yesterday and today. If you want your car towed on a flat bed in Brooklyn good luck if it’s not queens, Manhattan or Staten Island it will take all day

Fantastic experience: This review is long overdue!! The service provided by the staff and overall welcoming nature was beyond 5 stars. The patience shown to my Mom and I from Star, Garfield, and other staff members (unfortunately didn't obtain their names) was truly appreciated . I don't make it a habit of bad mouthing anyone because everyone has their day. But with that being said, the difference between the "help" received from multiple DMV customer service representatives, and the AAA Ralph Avenue staff was immediately felt (literally upon entrance). They actually wanted to help my Mom and I understand and work through the transactions. Double-checking anything they were unsure about. I sincerely appreciate AAA offering the DMV service through their offices. Unfortunately, meeting empathetic individuals seems to be far and few between these days. Although the situation my Mom and I were dealing with started out as highly stressful. I am truly grateful to have met the staff members at the AAA Ralph Avenue office along my path. I will always go back to their office for any transaction they can assist me with. Much love and blessings to them ✨

Negative experience: Very dissatisfied with the service. My husband was a member of the AAA for 35 years, and at first everything was fine. But yesterday we arrived at 2334 Ralph Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11234 for our planned trip to Key West. A nice girl - an employee listened to us carefully and offered to come the next day at 13:30. When we arrived today, we were told to wait half an hour. After that we waited another 1 hour and 50 minutes. After that, we were again offered to wait another 5 minutes. But the employee who was supposed to serve us was busy all the time. We asked to send us all the information by e-mail. But we were refused. We went home. This service is outrageous and unacceptable. I will not recommend this office to friends and family.

Positive experience: Very often, anything vehicle or DMV related is a nightmare to visit, but not this location! It was completely empty during my visit (so the polar opposite of traditional DMVs), the staff was professional, and the wait was adequate. All you could (dare to) want from a vehicle service place.

Fantastic experience: Just based on my own limited experience at NY DMVs, I was prepared for a the worst. But BOY was I wrong. I arrived at 8:59 am Wed for an International Driver’s Permit, they open at 9am. I didn’t catch his name, but a very awesome young guy had me out the door in 23 min including photos taken. This place is EXCELLENT.

Negative experience: While Towing my van they had an accident causing twenty seven hundred dollars in damages and refuse to one up to their responsibility. I am a disabled veteran all my medical equipment is on board leaving me home bound for six weeks im still suffering from this. That's an evil thing to do.

Negative experience: As a member of AAA, I went in to return vehicle plates when I find myself being yelled at by one of the black female AAA service rep. For just trying to ask her a simple question. Obviously, She did not take her medication, but decided that I was her morning fix! yes, I did not have an appointment, but the place was practically empty. I was told to wait for twenty minutes. After waiting pass thirty plus minutes, the so-called manager decided to take her rude employees' side, and decided to prolong my stay, until I decided to leave. I was able to walk in, at one of those other local DMV service branches and was properly serve.

Go online to find out what documents you need first and to make your appointment. All in all, a really good experience.
