Negative experience: I will not be renewing my membership. I only tried to use them once this year out to state and when I needed them to tow my car to the nearest dealership, I got an ETA of 5 hrs from when I made the call (I called during the day) . Also they do not talk to each other from state to state and you are left in the middle. Every year I debate keeping renewing the membership but due to lackluster service and the junk mail I get from them. My last experience made the decision easier to not renew.
Negative experience: My daughter was stranded in MD..their local AAA got them help, a tow to a AAA repair shop..facilitated hotel and a Lyft..with $20 coupon to provide respite in the heat for the family with a 2 year old. Compassion and service!! Truck couldn't be repaired there. Reading Berks refused to help faciliate getting the truck home. The representative was nasty and didn't give a @@@ about their needs or situation. So TYPICAL! ENTER MD AAA..saving the day again.oh gosh..indeed they were eligible to have it towed home Asa continuation of service. Amazing, caring, knowledgeable service. SHAME ON READING BERKS. No wonder most of our friends don't sign up locally.
Fantastic experience: Our one car broke down on Kremp Rd today (just north of Rt 568/Kurtz Mill Road). Spoke with rep named Diane who was super helpful on the phone, and was very efficient with getting the help I needed. I had my 3 year old daughter in the car with me, and Diane immediately pushed my request for roadside assistance to priority. Within 10-20 minutes (the wait wasn’t long), Jeff (the tow guy who assisted us) arrived and immediately prioritized getting us into his truck with the AC. By this point, my daughter and I were both sweating so bad from the heat. He was very empathetic about the situation, as he has kids of his own. It wasn’t long before we were on our way back to our house, where Jeff very quickly got our car back to our driveway. Please give my props to Jeff (and Diane, the rep I dealt with on the phone)….great work!!
Fantastic experience: Excellent staff, very helpful. Ed does a great job at teaching the emission and safety classes. Nice addition to have an option over the summer months when the tech schools are closed.

Negative experience: These guys are idots. I have a 100% stock car which can be towed ive had it towed bu a regular tow truck before but the guy is saying the height has been altered. Has he never seen a sports car before? Suspension on this thing has never been touched. Its how it comes factory look at any other car like mine. Its a C63 amg. Ive even had a lowered car towed before. Just called a towing company they are here now towing it WITH A REGULAR TRUCK!

Negative experience: Dispatchers are very rude and very nosey with information that doesn't deal with problem with vehicle and they call people liars about what is wrong with their vehicle. AAA of Reading is a big Waste of time.

Negative experience: I have been a member of AAA Reading-Berks for 23 years. I was a member on my father's plan from 2000 to 2019 when I got my own individual plan. Countless times over the years I have used my membership to call AAA for someone else. Going back to when I was a teenager and would call for friends, all the way up to last year when I had my wife call from a different state. Some details on that story... I was in Pennsylvania and my wife broke down in New Jersey, 3 hours away. I initially had her call using my membership but she was told that I had to be there when the tow truck arrived... understandable. So I drove the 3 hours and we called AAA again. The tow truck came right away and towed her car back to PA no problem. Today, my wife breaks down on the side of the road while working in her personal vehicle she uses to deliver mail for USPS. She is 10 minutes from our home where I am located. I know I have to be there but I'm going to beat the tow truck to her location so I call AAA as I'm heading out the door. I answer all the questions and was then asked if I was with the vehicle. I explained the situation. I should have just lied I guess. You are certainly incentivized to lie, so anyone reading this please learn from my mistake. But I had done this so many times in the past I didn't think anything of it. The customer service person, Jeremy, informed me that AAA could not help me since they cover me and not my wife and she was the one that broke down. I explained that I had done this many times before and gave examples and told him they are just incentivizing members to lie. He offered no solutions to help me. We went back and forth, my anger getting the better of me I eventually hung up on him. I could not believe AAA, who I have never had any issues with in the past, would treat a customer like this. I drove to my wife and called back. This time I got a different customer service person (I did not get her name) and after giving her all the information, she informed me that Jeremy had put a note on my account that I was not with the vehicle and to not assist me. Again, shocked and appalled. At this point I demanded to speak to a supervisor. She initially said there was no one I could speak to but finally transferred me to someone else which went to voicemail. I called a 3rd time, got Jeremy again, immediately demanded his supervisor, and was transferred to the same voicemail. So here I am with my wife on the side of the road, a customer for 23 years, no help or assistance offered, with a note on my account to specifically NOT help me. I debated just calling a towing company, not wanting to give AAA another cent of my money, but I knew it would be much more expensive, my wife had already been there for a long time, and I have never used anyone other than AAA for roadside assistance in my 23 years of driving. So I went on the website from my phone and added her to my account. Paying $100, $50 of which was a fee for her to be able to use the service immediately. Unbelievable! Apparently you need to wait 48 hours to use your account. But if you're in immediate need, that's easily solved by $50! My wife called, the tow truck came, and I still cannot believe how I was treated by this company that I have paid for, used, and trusted for 23 years.

As I’m sure you are aware, Roadside Assistance is a valuable membership benefit, but it is also a costly one. In order to continue to offer affordable membership pricing to all of our members, we can not allow members to share their membership benefits with non-members; that is why we can only provide road service to our members. I also understand you may have misused your membership in the past and you are unhappy that we did not allow that to happen yesterday, but after listening to the recorded calls I’m confident our customer service representatives handled your calls properly. I know you are not happy with the fact that they refused to provide service to your wife, but they were simply doing their job stating AAA’s policies and membership limitations. I was pleased to hear that they did offer you the opportunity to add your wife to your membership and we would have sent service, but you declined that offer. Had you not hung up, they would have also offered to send service to your wife as a cash call or given you the phone number for one of our service providers. I’m happy to hear that we were eventually able to provide service to your wife and now that she is a member, we can provide service to her in the future. Negative experience: I had to call a phone number that sent me a link to request a service. What if I had no data service? Requested service via the site, and then got a call from a different number some time later saying that I had to call "*11" for Turnpike assistance, which is not a valid number. Called that number back, and was told, "oh, not everyone knows that *11 isn't valid anymore, call this number instead." This process took about a half an hour to finally get ahold of somebody that can help. Why is it so exponentially more difficult to get in touch with somebody that is actually useful? This was in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday, by the way. Unacceptable. The driver was excellent though, just the process of getting a call through was ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: Awesome service fast response
Negative experience: Disappointed in my experience today. My daughter bought her first car and is taking it to college with her next week. My dad wanted to get her a membership to AAA so we went today to get that set up. My dad is 76 and has trouble hearing. We were the only customers there and the young man that waited on us seemed bored out of his mind. I'm not going to mention names bc I don't want to get anyone in trouble... especially with how the economy is right now. But I'm sad for my dad, who is the nicest man ever, to have dealt with someone who didn't seem to want to help us. My dad also had to say "what?!" Often bc the young man spoke quietly and also the plexiglass divider didn't help with hearing. It's just disappointing. I'm sure it's not the most exciting job ever but maybe try to be a little more chipper when dealing with customers instead of like we're ruining your day by being there.

Negative experience: Why the price so much for a renial
Fantastic experience: I broke down on the left shoulder of 422. To be honest, I was terrified as cars flew passed me at 60/70/80 mph, so I started to cry. The woman who answered the phone helped me calm down and was understanding of my situation. She assured me that everything would be okay and a tow truck driver would assist me shortly. The tow truck company that was sent out was amazing. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I loved it. Went to get two trip ticks to go to Michigan and also picked up some booklets on different places from the east coast to west coast. From the shore to the hills. So many options. Every time I go to AAA everyone is so nice and helpful. I enjoy it.
Negative experience: The staff could not have been more unfriendly. I was the only person there so I know they were not overwhelmed. I have been a member for 40 yrs and could not believe the lack of a positive customer experience.

Negative experience: I waited for 3 hours and when the tow truck driver came he refused to pick me up and drove away without saying anything else. This was because it was a work van. I understand that companies have policies, but i explained to the guy on the phone my vehicle type, told him I was leaving a job and had tools in the back. Why wouldn’t he just tell me on the phone that they couldn’t tow me? My van is only a small E-150 with barely any tools on it. Absolutely awful!

Negative experience: Although I am a AAA Plus member I was refused a tow of 41 miles to my dealership where my car would be fixed under warranty. The rude dispatcher informed me that they are only required to tow it to the nearest garage. This is not what is advertised , so they left me on the side of the road.

Negative experience: Triple AAA sent someone out to unlock our car, damaged both doors on the exterior and one interior panel and switches. Then they lied about it and tried to cover it up. Finally admitted they were at fault but gave us the run around for almost 2 years now. Now saying it's been to long to do anything about it. Car is still damaged.

Negative experience: Horrible, so I guess AAA doesn't have drivers because of that they wouldn't tow us to where we needed to be towed . We had to have it towed to one of the AAA locations and they will tow it when they can . We would have needed to find a way home . Customer Service is unacceptable and AAA is nothing like it use to be . We have the 100 mile plan and the 2 times we tried to use it this year have been a disaster.

Fantastic experience: Car broke down. Excellent help arrived in 10 minutes. Towed the car to the garage. Nice guy and great service.
Negative experience: Not open any nights or Saturdays and no longer carrying books on locations. Everything is digital she said. They are becoming useless for traveling information.
Fantastic experience: If you do not have a yearly AAA membership then you are doing yourself a major disservice. Not only is it very affordable but it's absolutely necessary even if you have the newest of new cars or the best of the best. You never know what's going to happen whether you lock yourself out, lose your keys, break down, or anything of that nature. The new system text with updates and I've never waited more than 90 minutes ever and I drive a 87 jeep and a 62 Merc... You know I use my 3 tows! Just had a buddy breakdown and I was able to wait there with him and use my service for him. Last week I did the same thing for my aunt. There is just no reason for you not to get this service, plan and simple!
Negative experience: Needed someone to help us plan our trip to Italy. Little help was given and emails went ignored for days. UPDATE: After my review, Brenda from AAA reached out to me and explained that the AAA rep who I was working with was transitioning jobs. Brenda was helpful in working through our concerns. Negative experience: Would love to give a great rating but frankly they have just gone down hill. Was told managers tell reps to fluff and make us happy.. yet my acct is active but nobody in the office can tell me why it's inactive (but I can get towing if I call in) or why I tell them numerous time what the pickup & drop off are located yet they still somehow switch addressthen get defensive when we get angry... like you are a road side assistance I should not feel like I'm pulling teeth to get help.. besides if I could use my app I wouldn't be talking to reps who can't seem to things correct.

Positive experience: Didn't know about Dutch Wonderland theme park discount tickets
Negative experience: Great place for insurance, but that's it. It is definitely not the place that it used to be and very expensive.

Negative experience: Not the best. I ordered a new license plate for my new car in Nov 2020. I called March 4 and was told they had a plate and registration for my car. The vanity plate I ordered was not the plate that was delivered. I'm now waiting again for the proper plate to arrive. Don't know why the proper plate wasn't received? Who's at fault I don't know?

Positive experience: I am very disappointed at the service concerning the billing. In the last 2 visits, I'm disabled, and I receive a discount, anyway. That happen the 2nd time. They did not listen to me and put me on hold and never return. They owe me money still
Fantastic experience: Quick roadside help. My battery needed to be replaced. They replaced the battery and got my truck running. They were very helpful. I continued my membership for another year.
Negative experience: Staff, Olthia Knobel was extremely rude. I had ask if there was a place that was a little more private and quiet. Ms. Knobel, stated in a very rude, condescending tone, "You can go somewhere else if you want private and quiet" My husband and I were there to have some notory work completed. Ms. Knobel took the documents and proceeded to take them all out of order and pulled out the documents to be notorized, had us sign them and then took all the signed documents to another area of the office and notorized them. We did not witness her sign / notorize the documents. $24 later my husband & I had to go home and place the 50 page document packet back into order before returning them to the title company. I would recommend if you need ANY services from Reading AAA to request that Ms. Knobel not assist you. She is very unprofessional.
Negative experience: Seemed like the guy didn't feel like changing my flat tire to my spare tire, also looked like he already pre planned on towing my truck since he brought his flatbed, like they were getting paid more to tow my truck compared to putting my spare on.

Negative experience: I mostly use 3As for title work, however they truly are not very knowledgeable. My last experience was the worst. After about 10 minutes of what I call lip service, I knew she did not know how to do the transfer. I gathered up all my papers and went to the Notary in Sinking Springs. I am not stretching the story, within 10 minutes my transfer was complete. If anyone from 3As would like to dispute my complaint please give me a call

Negative experience: Word of advice even if you have the 100 mile towing they will only tow to nearest garage not one of your choosing.I spoke to Ed I believe was his name he is a supervisor.Ed is very rude and should not be in the position he is in.Ed lied and said I used my membership once which I never did there for he could not pro rate a refund to me.The whole reason I purchased the plus membership was for up to 100 miles of towing which they do not honor.

Positive experience: I went for a vehicle title duplicate. They were very nice on the phone, very nice and helpful inside and we were seen with in 10 minutes of being there. Everything was very clean and smelled clean. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because of there business hours. We needed a time after 530 PM and the only day they do that is a Wednesday ,there open till 7, or a Saturday 9-12.

Fantastic experience: Been a member for 22 years. Here for 2 four hour sessions for the mature driving course. Instructor Bob, a 3rd grade teacher for 39 years, is excellent! Took the course basically to receive the 5% discount on my car insurance for three years. However, I have learned much in just the first session! One always thinks that one is an excellent driver and pretty much knows it all. Well, this course will inform you that that is far from the truth. I believe that one can enroll for the course as young as 55 and I would recommend doing that and not waiting till later in life. One has to take a 4 hr refresher class every 3 yrs in order to retain one's discount.
