I came for a flat tire as I have AAA and when they called to talk through my car being ready they prioritized discussing everything but my tire. They tried to indicate that they discussed the alignment however that was clouded by all the other things they tried to upsell me. I will never go back here and honestly they need to focus more on what people are actually being serviced for and the needs around that rather than focusing on other items unrelated. I likely would have taken the upsell related to my tire.

Fantastic experience: Rave review here: family has been using AAA on South Blvd for car care since we moved here in 2017. We’ve been happy with their services, including customer service. Most recently they put on new tires for us, and not a hitch getting the tires from Tire Rack. Sure, getting a discount on holiday gift card purchases through their location was a good idea for my budget. Sure, getting paper maps also easy; the chap who I spoke to on the phone was thorough, making sure I understood the timeline difference if they were mailed vs if I popped in to pick them up. But it’s the above-and-beyond of Facility Manager Chris O’Mahony that makes me post a 5 star review. Recently our non profit organization was searching for gifts/raffle prizes to round out what we had for our Volunteer Holiday Party: while not “in” our line of work, Chris pitched right in to help! Feeding Charlotte is a food rescue organization with an especially small staff. We can do what we do only because of volunteer help, and the food transport that volunteers do adds a lot of miles on their cars! I approached Chris for a gift certificate for an oil change… he provided not one but 3! The volunteers who received these were thrilled; thank you Chris and the AAA South Blvd Team. Major kudos for being such a primo community supporter!

Negative experience: I came here for a car inspection today, and AAA (being so reputed) failed my inspection saying the window tint has not passed. (They have not calibrated their tool before the inspection). I went back to my car dealer to ask them regarding the tint, and they did a quick tiny check, and the results were above 35 - it passed! I came to to AAA with the photo proofs from my car dealer, and they re-checked/re-inspected my car tint and it passed. They admitted that it was their mistake. They both told me that if the issue is the fuel pump, then I will not be charged for anything, but if it isn’t the pump, then I was responsible for the parts and labor. That is completely reasonable, and I agreed. Car goes in, I get a call from Jane and start from the top and explain everything to her again and how I believe the issue is the fuel pump and that I want it checked because of the warranty. She agrees to relay that to the tech working the car. I get a call the next day, explaining that they haven’t checked the fuel pump yet but gave me an outlandish story about how the “tech” said that my gasoline looked “yellow instead of clear” (gasoline is yellow just fyi), and that when he poured some on the ground and lit it on fire, that there was wet spot on the ground when the fire went out…. I am not kidding. It does not take a genius to figure out that all gasoline is not pure (aka not clear), and that the additives and dyes are left behind when the gas fumes burn out. I told Jane that I wanted the fuel pump checked and she then proceeded to quote me $600 for literally changing out the gas. I told her that if that is the issue, then that is fine, but I want the pump checked. I didn’t hear anything for 24 hours and got a text at 6pm the next day that my car was ready for pick up. No call, or explanation of anything. I had to call in the next day to ask what the problem was with the car, to which Peter told me he would explain when I came to pick the car up. I presume that was because they didn’t want the conversation about the unnecessary charges to be on a recorded line. I went in to pick up the car, to which Jane started the convo with “so we replaced the fuel pump”. Done, end of conversation, I shouldn’t owe anything, right? Wrong. She then proceeds to write up a $305 bill for changing out the gas. I immediately was not having this, seeing that my car was jerked around from both of AAA’s shops for 2 weeks total at this point and that I was told I wouldn’t be charged for anything because the fuel pump was bad. They then tried to sell me again on the fact that I had “bad gas”, and that I was lucky I wasn’t charged for the total cost of the job because the “bad gas ‘COULD HAVE’ destroyed the pump”, but they couldn’t charge me for it because they had no proof. Again, a hole in the story and another reason why I should not have been charged. They literally have no proof other than some sorcery between liquid gasoline and fire, which again, is not even true. No gas was legitimately tested, nor was there any reason to check anything else other than the fuel pump from the start. Save your time and your money, because they will find confirmation bias and get their money somehow. No warranty is ever free when it comes to shops that have no idea what they are doing.

Finally mid day, they were able to pick up my car, at the right place and tow it to the correct location. Diagnostic testing was done at the dealership within a few hours and the part was ordered. The issue was that the dealership diagnosed the issue, I told AAA what I thought the issue was and they were unable to diagnose it. What I told AAA originally, what the tow truck tech told me, and what the dealership told me was the issue seemed like an east issue to diagnose but AAA failed to do that. I understand most techs are trained differently, but I received no communication from the shop and they were unable to diagnose a common car issue, wasting 4 days without me having transportation for nothing does not seem to be positive customer experiences. AAA failed on multiple levels, beyond just this shop.

Negative experience: Call ahead and see what they will and won't do. Despite making an appointment and entering in everything I wanted done, they didn't tell me until I showed up for the appointment that they wouldn't touch the used tires I have.

Negative experience: I went in for assistance with vacation help and left feeling as lost as I had when I went in the establishment. All Kiersten Drew did was tell me what she felt was best for me. She did not go above and beyond to find as many options for my needs and tried to push me off on options that clearly weren't what I asked for. I'm so disappointed because what she did I had already done myself... back to finding a vacation on my own... still trying to figure out why I wasted my time with AAA (South Blvd location) don't go there and if you do don't use her...ughhhh!!

Fantastic experience: Jamel was extremely knowledgeable and caring to my specific situation with a relatively odd issue with a relatively rare car, (VW Corrado G60). He was understanding and very helpful.

Negative experience: I got my car inspected and they failed me for my 2 front tires and wanted to charge me $450. I took it somewhere else and they said there was absolutely no reason to not pass. Trying to scam customers into spending money by not passing their inspection is ridiculous. I will not be returning.

Negative experience: Friendly staff, but incredibly slow and inefficient for car service. Even with an appointment, a vehicle inspection took over an hour. Vehicle inspections should take 15-30 minutes at most according to previous experience and NC DMV. I won't be returning and I definitely won't consider a AAA membership.

Fantastic experience: After I finished my typical Sat morning workout, I noticed what sounded like brake 'grinding' & 'squealing.' Keeping in mind, it was raining. I decided that it was time to get my brakes done, as I have barely driven my car throughout the pandemic. I stopped into a brake specific shop (will not name, we all make mistakes intentional/unintentional in life) and I had new brakes/rotors put on. After leaving the shop (smelled weed in the shop when picking up), my car started out okay but within 2 blocks, my front passenger side began to make a grinding noise and shake intermittently. Obviously, there's a serious problem. At this point, I just want to get to the nearest shop and I am hoping for the best. So, I make my way to AAA. At AAA, Jane was my service rep and she was very kind. She came outside and listened to the noise. She provided a timeframe of service and also indicated that I would receive a diagnostic report, with the results. Turns out, after having my brakes/rotors put on, they didn't tighten the lug nuts appropriately and my right tire was loose. Jane informed me that this can cause your wheel to fall off. Obviously, that would be bad :(. So, I consider this a huge blessing. I was planning to hit the highway but because of my car's immediate behavior from leaving the other shop. I went to AAA. I write all this because I appreciate the DVI report (brings credibility), diligence to courteous customer service and the INTEGRITY (most of all). My experience was overwhelmingly positive and since I am still here to write about it. I must thank the shop and I am truly grateful, all the way around!!!!

Negative experience: Awful...I guess they thought since I was a woman I don't know anything about cars...I will be writing a complaint and will social media with friends and family not to go there for service...it wasn't the person who assisted me..not his fault...just the policy of the company which makes no sense...

Fantastic experience: The guys here are great. Everyone is curtisous .They were short staffed but still able to squeeze me in after I had my truck towed to the shop. Prices are reasonable. I will bring my cars back here.

Negative experience: Had new rotors and calipers installed. $1,300 later I drove about 2 miles before the brakes seized bringing me to a skidding halt in rush hour traffic. I waited there for 2 hours until the tow truck arrived. Nice people. Terrible outcome. Unfortunately zero stars isn't an option.

Negative experience: I understood that there was a service fee of $129 to run Diagnostics; however, I only needed them to determine if the headlight bulbs were blown I removed them myself very easily in less than 5 minutes. I think perhaps they should have called me to explain the bulbs were bad and that I should replace them. There was no indication that they tested the relay switch . Sometimes, you just have to go the extra mile to build trust. There's a very little effort in running a diagnostic test. So, basically, it cost me almost $180 or something that I could have done myself in less than 5 minutes for about $27.

Negative experience: This AAA location does NOT do body work- but they will not tell you that until the work is paid for and signed off on so hopefully you can save some time and NOT go here. I went in with a cracked front bumper and broken DRL. Brandon quoted me around $300 “for everything” and I was sent a text to images of the damage including images exclusively of the body damage so I approved. I picked up my car right before closing immediately from work and after paying the office was closed- however my car was still entirely cracked and they just fixed he DRL. Soon after, the DRL stopped working as well. It took 3 months and a lot of pushback from manager Sam, but I just FINALLY got my money back to take it to a real repair shop. The only good thing in my entire visit was that they referred me to McClure Collision who did the entire job for much less money. Save your time and money and go there instead.

Negative experience: Customer service is a joke of should I say non-existent. Went to get a map was told the person authorized to hand out maps would be back in 30 minutes. Guy from car care said "he didn't have access to the software to get a map". I asked if no one else could reach in a drawer and pull out a map and he walked off. If I can't get you to do a simple task of customer service why would I trust you to handle my vehicle? Tried calling the 800 number of my AAA card and no one answered the phone. This company use to thrive on customer service. Now it's a joke. Times like this you need to step up your game or get out of the game.

Negative experience: The employees standing around taking to each other while customers wait. Definitely shouldn’t take an hour and a half for an oil change.
