Fantastic experience: A GREAT trip and a great tour!! Our tour “Oktoberfest, The Germanic Experience “ by Insight Vacations could not have been better for any price. Everything from the hotels, restaurants and included tour cities to our tour director far exceeded my expectations. I can see myself going back to the Oktoberfest again soon. I didn’t want it to end and I didn’t want to come home. This Oktoberfest trip was my third European travel experience with Travel Central in Metairie LA. My travel agent Leatta Perdue, seems to know just about everything that there is to know about traveling in Europe. Even last minute travel planning. She can make it happen!!

Positive experience: Chose 3 stars because I would not refer anyone. I orginally tried in 03/2023 to book a trip for (3) to Sicily for 12-14 nights in 09/2023 to 10/2023. March 2023 I sent requested passport & other info to Rose Boudreaux. Through phone conversations I was told most hotel & flights booked and next year better. She said she had a tour group to Sicily in 10/2024. For 2024 our hard dates were only Sept. Rose suggested we wait until after Christmas 2023 because she had a Christmas tour. I waited and was able to make contact Jan. 5, 2024 and again gave passports etc. She again reminded me of her Oct. group tour which still did not work for us. Rose booked all flights Jan. 30th except flight from Catania to Rome. In an email 06/07/24 it was stated by me that we still did not have a flight from Catania to Rome. It got booked July 20, 2024 at a much higher price than predicted earlier. Rose's 1st choice for Taormina hotel was already full, which I thought the whole point of waiting was to have availability which is knowledge a travel specialist would know. It was strongly emphasized that pickups and transfers all be included. That was a stress point for me. We did not have a lot of requests but that one of main reason for travel company. Rose said it was. Upon final payment I asked again if all transportation and all fees paid. To me transportation in a foreign country with with limited time is the foundation of utilizing time wisely. There was no transportation from Palermo to Cefalu. I then verified with hotel nothing set up. Trains were on strike and none of the tour transfer people we had used and liked or their friends were available. So an out of pocket cost $260.00. We had been picked up for tours in Palermo and airports. When got to Cefalu the concierge said no pickups scheduled for when we left for Taormina so another out of pocket cost of $360.00. Turns out a cooking class was booked from Cefalu to country home by Rose and even the concierge at Le Calette No 5 said the ride is at least 45 minutes and was way too expensive and plenty of classes in Cefalu. I did email Rose 9/7/24 concerning ride since other pickups for tours scheduled. No answer to that email or phone. Seriously a word to your Travelers: " Need to schedule your own transportation" for a b c would have been tremendous. It could be said I should have checked more but Ithought using a travel advisor who I paid for and was getting compensation from other sources involved with my vacation had a nice level of expertise and that we would be having the best use of our time, money, explanations and choices. Flight home consisted of Taormina to Catania by car and it took about an hour then flight at 11:45 a.m. arrive Rome 1:15 p.m. Then another car to Bernini hotel in Rome which was about 50 minutes. Rome was never a destination for us. We got into Hotel to check in around 3:00 p.m. The concierge wanted to explain the beautiful facilities but we had to leave the next morning at 5:30 a.m. She said we wouldn't even be able to have the beautiful breakfast because restaurant not open at that hour. She said the Bernini was a resort hotel and a shame no time to enjoy. Our flights coming to Rome were one continuous trip LAX to Rome wait 1 and 1/2 hour on to Palermo. Why book and pay for a 5 star hotel when there is no time to enjoy? It is my synopsis of my dealings with TravelCental and Rose that the level of personal contact and caring was underwhelming. Even when I was called by her on my time at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday because too busy during the week I did wonder where I fit in, as a priority, if at all and that main time concern was with tours. If that is true I would have appreciated being told in advance. This was a pain for me to write but vacations are special lifetime experiences and if someone learns to question more it was worth my time. Sicily is breath taking in so many ways, history, people, sites and of course food. It was a wonderful time with my family and we would go again!

Fantastic experience: Libby with Travel Central planned my two week Honeymoon across Italy. We started in Palermo, Sicily then headed to Florence with a day trip to Tuscany, next was Sorrento with a day trip to Capri (our favorite), and we ended in Rome. All of our transportation was on time and easy to find, our hotels were fantastic with easy check in and delicious breakfast, and the tours were very informative, but also a lot of fun. We had a blast with absolutely ZERO issues. Thank you to Libby & Travel Central for the Honeymoon of a lifetime!

We went whale watching with Prince of Whales (saw 20 orcas and a pod of humpback whales!). We had a private driver for a day-long tour of the city, Stanley Park, Granville Market and out to Burnaby Village Museum. In Arizona, we had tours conducted by members of the Grand Canyon Conservancy. That's a true pleasure because those folks are so knowledgeable and passionate they make even geology come alive. Fantastic experience: Sue has planned two trips for us - first to Ireland and Scotland, the second a Mediterranean cruise on the Star Clipper. We worked with Sue to determine trip options that best met our needs. She went over lots of options - many based on her own travel experiences - so we had first hand knowledge as what to expect. The other big plus for Travel Central is that they provide an app called Pocket Travel that contained all of our travel documents and itineraries, as well as information on the different locations we were visiting. Fantastic experience: We were so impressed with how Allison set up our 40th wedding anniversary trip to the Netherlands. All three of our goals were roundly achieved: tulips, art, and history. First class/business class is the only way to fly across the pond. There's always a drink, and plenty to eat. The pods are tremendous. Make sure your agent sets you up with airport travel for inside the terminal. There are some long nasty walks, for which we old, broken people need help. Delta: the gate agents you promised on the plane, were never there at deplaning. NEVER. Once out of the luggage area, Abercrombie and Kent handled the details such as hotel transfers, issues, and opening dinner cruise. We had a repetitive hotel electrical issue for which our "Guardian Angel” interceded, and the hotel made amends. Our private tour guide Isabel: We had a university education on artists and their strokes; castles; the Holocaust; tulips; and good little cafes we would otherwise never find. I am convinced Van Gogh was murdered: lateral bullet entry, no gun found. Isabel was a total gem. Pimm, our driver, was as advertised: courteous, professional, efficient, with plenty of cold water and good conversation. Because of the number of days we spent there, we could take longer trips into the countryside, and still take a nap before dinner. Eventually, the College Hotel will be an excellent place to stay, but renovations are not finished and I would avoid it until they are completed. Also, there is no cashier, which makes tipping (or not) very awkward. Bring only enough Euros that you can spend, because a bank will not take them back. But sit back, relax and enjoy your own Dutch renaissance. Thanks Allison!!

Fantastic experience: We had the most incredible "Christmas Market" trip to Salzburg, Budapest, Vienna, and Milan, all thanks to Erin Majorie, our fantastic travel agent. From start to finish, she took care of everything—hotels, walking tours, VIP Mozart concert, train transfers, and private drivers—making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. Each city had its own unique charm, but Budapest really took us by surprise. It’s such a hidden gem! The city has so much character, and we had some of the best food of the entire trip there. If you’re planning a trip to Europe, don’t miss out on Budapest. The only snag we hit were some train delays due to flooding in the area, but obviously that wasn't Erin's fault. Thankfully, she allotted extra time for travel days and we didn't miss any of our scheduled activities. We highly recommend Erin for anyone looking to book a seamless and well-organized vacation. We are already working on our next trip to Alaska with her!
