AAA York Office

Negative experience: Not sure how this is showing 4 stars because I'm sitting in my broken down truck for roadside assistance & each time they try to connect me with my location, nobody's answering. 1.5 hours still on hold, about to pay $100 to get towed but I'm cancelling my AAA membership - paying $150 membership fees annually for the past 5 yrs, barely using it & the one time I trusted AAA service to come thru when I need it most, they utterly failed. I'll admit AAA used to be reliable, clearly not anymore#disappointment

Fantastic experience: No problems

Negative experience: I had to give 1 star because I had to because of the system but if i could i would give it a -0, just one star is too much for them, there are very racist, they were disrespectful and they didn't have any disposition to help I consider those type of agency shouldn't be open, and for sure am not coming back. And they shouldn't have that type for job called "costumer service" if they aren't even gonna help with the minimum.

Positive experience: Disappointed. AAA doesn't notarized documents anymore. I found out that UPS does.

Positive experience: The building is HUGE. Walk in and there are people on either side of the building. Nobody to direct me and nobody paid attention. I spent 5 minutes browsing products and left. I booked my own flight.

Fantastic experience: Whoever was the guy that picked my car up from east York petco on Sunday jan 28th went above and beyond. He does not directly work for AAA but I assume he is contracted out. The 5 stars are for that man not necessarily AAA. Yea it’s not for AAA at all.

Negative experience: Paid for a renewal at the York Location back in November and to this day no card. The customer services reps are RUDE and dont care as long as they got your money.

Negative experience: Been a AAA member for years, went in to get a title (in MY name) transferred from out of state. I was told that they could not verify the VIN on the car that I drove there after dark, because being dark outside is "inclimate weather". They handed me a stack of papers and told me I'd have to pay an auto shop to verify my Vin and start the paperwork. Don't waste your time with these people for tag and title services.

Negative experience: Went for title transfer. No one was working who had that skill set so left and went to Brimmers.

Fantastic experience: Came out of the grocery store to a dead battery. Hopped on the AAA app & requested service. My man Clayton was there in 5 minutes. He was polite & knowledgeable. He swiftly diagnosed & replaced the battery (new battery was already in his vehicle). The entire process only took 20 minutes. What could’ve been a major headache was a minor hiccup, thanks to AAA.

Negative experience: Nasty rude take forever

Negative experience: I have been with AAA for years & rarely used it. When it came time for assistance, I was flabbergasted that they wouldn't download my proof of insurance, in order to get my vehicle registered in PA. The associate assisting me stated it was OK for the police to use, but they needed a paper copy! Ridiculous! My insurance company (Geico) stated it is recognized in all, but 3, of the 50 states; AAA in PA, should have been able to handle this.

Fantastic experience: Amazing insurance agents, very professionals

Negative experience: There is more then enough people in this office but somehow they never return calls or reply to emails. Lucky for me I found a travel agent who knows how to treat their customers

Positive experience: All the clerks should know how to do everything instead of one person doing this and that!

Negative experience: This place is a joke. I went in to transfer a title on a Monday night @ 5pm and they told me they could not do the title transfer because the gal that is trained to do so it left early. I was assured she would be there the following day till 6pm and would be able to take care of me. When I arrived the following evening, just after 5 pm, I am was told once again they can not do the title transfer, but this time it’s because there are 2 customers ahead of me and they close at 6. This is extremely frustrating because I intentionally left work 2 days in a row early to transfer the title, only to be told that they can not do it. Train more personnel or setup an appointment service so people are not wasting their time. This is a paid member service. I have been a AAA member for 24 years, always faithfully paying for my membership. It’s clear that AAA is stealing my money at this point and not providing the benefits/services I subscribed to. I will be going back till I get the title transferred, since my membership is paid up and it’s a matter of principle at this point. But I will not being doing so quietly. They will have a clear understanding that the service they now offer is not what it was 20 years ago. Unfortunately, we should just mark AAA up as another failed company. You can not treat your customers this way and expect to remain solvent.

Negative experience: DO NOT purchase luggage from AAA. They do not back what they sell. We purchased 2 Travelpro suitcases from them and both broke on our first trip one week later. AAA would not help us with a return or exchange. Travelpro also has not returned our messages. We have contacted the BBB about both of them. At least our credit card company will handle the dispute.

Negative experience: I would give 0 if I could! Rude rude dispatch! Took three hours to get my house. Would’t knock on my door and then left! I’m certainly not going to renew! Good Sam has a new customer!

Negative experience: I’ve been a AAA member for decades. My recent experience with their travel agents has been disappointing. One agent would not return phone calls or emails. A second agent was more responsive, but is leaving in a week. Frankly I’m shocked at the lack of attention and service. Their travel service does not live up to their commitment to member services.

Positive experience: If you want help planning a trip then genie is the one to talk to extremely helpful. Planned two trips with her today.

Negative experience: 1st night call them ,wife had two flat tires . On a Monday 545pm . We sat there for an 1 half hours called back 3 times . Keep getting hung up on . To find out 1 and a half hours is an estimate time . So we sat there for almost 3 hours . No show. They called 5hours were Her. After we went home . 2nd night another hour an a half. They showed. I'm not happy with them.

Negative experience: I have paid for a membership for 28 years and have probably used it fewer than 7 times. I called about having a car battery jumped or possibly replaced because it won’t start and they won’t provide any assistance because it hasn’t been started in more than 10 days. Great customer service.

Negative experience: 13 year member. Family has been member finally needed to use a tow after 13 years and got denied. Absolutely pathetic company. Save your money and do your research before buying into this garbage. Don’t make the same mistake I have every year. -5 stars out of 5

Fantastic experience: Always have the help I need

Negative experience: I’ve had AAA for over 15 yrs, always treated me well. The last 2 experiences with them are the complete opposite. From the lack of available tow to the office and management. Full run around for all involved. I was told by Steve that Todd makes the decisions and he’s on vacation. I was told by customer service during the lack of tow that they apologize but find ur own tow and u will be reimbursed. I had to do that both tows. I got denied because they said the vehicle was already towed. AAA sent multiple text that the job was complete...which it was not. They never towed the truck, then want to deny reimbursement.

Negative experience: Worst customer service I had ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I went to AAA to get my title and registration changed as I just moved to PA from NYC. As soon as I approached you could feel the hostility as if I was annoying the lady assisting me. I purchased a membership and paid to have my title sent from the lienholder to begin the process. I left but called to verify a few things and I was hung up on, asked to speak to a manager and was told the manager was unavailable and would call back. (Never did) and when I asked about the title they said “it could take weeks” and hung up on again. I was beyond irritated. Clearly the women working at the membership area do not like their jobs. They’re rude, unprofessional and are not the type of people that should be representing AAA. I’ll take the drive to Hanover just to avoid dealing with them anymore. It’s been over a month by the way and I still haven’t gotten a call back about my title after having paid for the service.

Fantastic experience: Huge parking area. No other customers inside.

Negative experience: Worse customer service ever. Rude and never can help a member of 25 years. Other then road service I would cancel my membership immediately. Twice I've tried to put title's in my name and it's like pulling teeth. Left there and went to a local notary both times and went smooth. Absolutely no issues. Never go back !!

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff helped me take photos for my passport. The experience went quick and because I am a AAA member, it didn't cost me anything, awesome!

Negative experience: Not sure if anyone from the company will see this or not... but I called for roadside assistance to help with a flat tire and thr guys was very nice and he came fairly quickly... BUT after taking my car to the shop I was told that the tire that the guy put on wasn't on properly & the lugnuts were not tight on. In fact the tire was very close to falling off the car. I've used AAA alot in the q0 years of having them and have never had an issue until this time. Luckily nothing bad happened but it could have

Negative experience: Doing a title transfer was a nightmare here. I recommend CC’s Tags on Sherman Street where you’ll find much nicer staff. On the other hand, the Travel side of the AAA office is delightful and helpful and I appreciate them.

Fantastic experience: We visited the AAA Travel Agency inquiring about the details involved with visiting the Canadian side of Niagara Falls and Toronto. The Rep we spoke with quickly outlined all the negative implications of visiting Canada including if one of us would have somehow tested positive for Covid on our return, we would have sequester for 14 days and then tested Negative before being permitted back in the U. S. It was an easy decision to forget going to Canada, hopefully when this mess is over. Great advice & quick service.

Positive experience: The place is huge, but has very little business. The ladies at the counter were complaining about their jobs in a way I'm guessing clients weren't necessarily supposed to hear, but they weren't quiet about it. I almost wish I'd been offered a AAA membership, as I've been meaning to sign up again, but I was there for a purchase and the lady was not mean but also not very friendly. On the travel side, however, the customers and agent attending them (I could only see the one agent and a family) seemed to be having fun and I wished I had a reason to go over there.

Fantastic experience: after noticing my tire pressure was a little low, I went to rutters to add some air in my tire. I quickly realized that the air pump was broken and it was taking air out.. next thing i knew I had a completely airless tire…lol so I called AAA, this was my first time using them & my serviceman was named Andrew and he was the nicest guy ever! he added air and informed me what to look for if I should still have issues with it. he knew his stuff for sure! he had time while waiting for his next call and sat there & answered a bunch of questions for me about my car. This man deserves a raise, not only very professional but also very personable! hope I get him next time if something were to come up with my car again.

Positive experience: Got passport pictures here. When we had our passport application reviewed, they rejected our pictures because we smiled. Had to then pay to have CORRECT photos taken. Feel AAA should at least be able to tell you how to pose for a passport photo. She never told us you cannot smile and show teeth on this photo. Not very happy with them. Lost that money...

Fantastic experience: Went to transfer an auto title. Everything was explained and made easy by the woman, who was very pleasant

Negative experience: Came here to get my car registered this morning. I'm not a member so maybe they don't care about providing solid service to people like me. However, Elyse Liller told me she would not be able to walk out into the drizzling rain to confirm my VIN number. I was instructed to take it to another location up the road to have them confirm my VIN before bringing it back to complete the registration process. Even more amusing, I was literally the only person in line to be helped! I obviously walked out. Runkle's Tag and Title was much friendlier and literally laughed out loud when I told them what happened. Not a big surprise why this location is always empty if people like Ms. Liller are at the helm. I'm not their bread and butter, but this was appalling nonetheless. Elyse, get an umbrella and a better attitude. You have NO business in customer service!

Positive experience: This was an interesting visit. I have had AAA for many years and only used their towing service twice in my lifetime. Never use the travel side of AAA. But I have to say it was a nice experience overall in that the travel agent Lee worked with was pleasant and really helped us find somewhere new to go. We didn't end up looking, yet, because we need to discuss how things are going to proceed with this trip, however, she gave us great ideas and some quotes so we have a better idea on how much money we're going to have to spend on this trip. So we'll see how that process goes after we decide to book and start paying off some of our trip.

Positive experience: Love having AAA. I have the basic membership and my 5% discount alone was the same price as the discount I received at a hotel. I also had to use the tow already. I should give credit to the tow truck guy for fixing my issue instead of having to tow it because he saved me money big time. Triple A is worth having.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful customer service. Was helped within minutes of arriving. They even helped us cut our current insurance in half by switching insurance. I can depend on this AAA and recommend to anyone wanting to get aaa to go to this location. Great area as well.

Negative experience: DON’T waste your money on this club!! Worst service, customer service is horrible. Made a call to have a car picked up in front of our home, driver was to be there within 45 mins. 4 hours later no text, no call. I call back for them to tell me that the driver was there, BUT did not send the text to give his ETA & admitted he didn’t go to the door. Somebody was home all day waiting, a driver never came or made a call. So now a driver is supposed to be on there way and I will be charged for the a second call . When called to speak to the manger of that club she said I was referred to my club. The problem isn’t with my club it’s with the York club. I made the call to my club and the lady I spoke too was wonderful.
