The response from the auto service front desk was rude and unprofessional. I advise to try another AAA location, this one is not up to standard.

Negative experience: This place charged me a $150 for an hour and a half of labor beyond my membership coverage. They finished the job in 20 minutes and when I inquired about the charge, they accused me of being cheap and “wanting free labor.” Instead of admitting that they overestimated the difficulty of the job, they insult me to my face. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Never going back, cancelling my AAA membership.

Negative experience: We were sold a membership this week and the fine print and larger print all state that the basic membership includes 7 miles tow. We just spoke to the roadside service and she said it is 3 miles. 3 miles. When your website says 7 miles? Even your competitors websites state that you tow 7 miles. Get your information straight. My family used AAA when I was a teen and the towing max was 100 miles. I am disgusted at how poor your service is and that you clearly put stockholders and the CEO far ahead of every paying customer.

He was extremely Professional, Polite, Helpful, and Competent in helping me get my car back on the road. Negative experience: WOW. Don't go there Saturday morning to get an International drivers license. Seems the person taking care of me have zero customer service skills. Fantastic experience: Quick service and great help in getting back home after my phone died! Got my international drivers license here no problem.
Negative experience: I took my Dodge Durango here after the check engine light came on (Code P0301). After charging $150 for diagnostic services, the shop recommended tune-up service (spark plugs replacement), injector wire harness repair, and a complete fuel injector and induction system cleaning. I received a call about 3 days later that all work had been completed and car is good to go. I picked it up after paying the total bill of $1,477.69. I barely drove a mile after picking up before the check engine light came back on, but not only that, the car shook/trembled in traffic every time I stepped on the brake or put the car in reverse. This is not something I had experienced with this car before going into the service repair at AAA Apex Pkwy. I immediately turned around and returned the car to the shop. Well, ten days later, I got another call that vehicle had been checked and test-driven multiple times; everything looked good and was ready for pickup. About driving about 9 miles on that same day, the check engine light came back on again (same issues) and I had to tow car back to the AAA – Apex Pwky. All in all, after almost two and half weeks of holding my car, I finally got a call from the shop that they cannot figure out the issue and that I need to take the car to an electronic shop or the dealer. Go figure! I do not recommend AAA – Apex Pkwy (1101 Apex Peakway, Apex, NC) – use them at your own risk.

Fantastic experience: This is a clean shop with travel services. I was not a member when I walked in, but the customer service was excellent, and I signed up for a membership. I was able to get a same day international driver's license here- even on a Saturday morning!
Negative experience: I have used AAA in Apex Peakway a few times. Previously, they have not been great, but on par with other shops. In my last visit: 1. They forgot to do my state inspection, 2. I had asked for a tire rotation which they said they did. But I noticed my leaking tire was still the rear back one like before the rotation which means they lied about rotating the tires. I confirmed this at the tire shop, the tread in the front was more work, no rotation took place. 3. The alignment left my camber measurement red and their answer was that tire alignments can’t fix camber, 4. They “were not able to” check my transmission fluid but recommended a “transmission shop” because the “tech saw some fluid by the axle”. I have no transmission fluid leaking in my garage… Most shops are equally bad nowadays, I know. But I will try another one next time.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my Jeep to this Apex location for a very long time now and I am not planning on going anywhere else. Ive met a lot of different employees over the years here, and they are all amazing. Specifically Mark Baillie, who works at the front of the store. He goes way above his required duties to help the customers. Not just me, Ive seen him be this way with literally everyone. Nicest guy ever. He is a straight shooter, which I respect. I dont know much about cars, so he does a great job of explaining the issues and my options, and he has never made me feel like he was suggesting something I did not need. He understands I am on a budget and doesnt push, yet he also makes sure I know the importance of fixing a severe issue as to not cause more damage later on. Its nice to know, being a single female with zero car knowledge, that I have someone who I trust will take care of me and my vehicle honestly and ethically. He has been instrumental in my loyalty to Triple A, both the Car care center and the membership. If it werent for him, I would have gone elsewhere years ago. Somebody needs to promote this man or give him a raise and a bonus!!!

Positive experience: Good experience with getting my oil change but be aware that the pricing on AAA is not you will be charged. Pricing lists 39.99 on website and I was charge $85 when I went to the location.
Negative experience: They were supposed to rotate tires but did not. Only noticed because the brake dust on front wheels was still the same on my f-150. Also had mud on tires on passenger side from pulling off the road. Everything still the same after supposed tire rotation. Called back same evening when I got home and Matt blamed it on printer problem, said sorry and told me to bring back in. Left my truck there for four hours and not all service completed as promised and billed. Will not be going back. Recently had worse problems at Jiffy Lube in Apex NC with my company vehicle. Very disappointed with both. Ford Quicklane seems good but hard to get appointment and a little pricey but at least get what you paid for in my experience. Also I had a 10 coupon from from GoPlaySave coupon book but Matt at AAA said he already applied 10 coupon. After totaling up on receipt which is a little confusing it does not appear it actually came off although it lists it on a lot be item. They seem sketchy to me and beat to avoid.

Negative experience: Nice polite and seemed to do a good job. But 1 hour 40 minutes for an oil change. Bruh, jiffy lube is the same price but SEVEN times faster.
Negative experience: Be careful with AAA car Insurance, based on my experience when you call to inquiry if you are covered or not, they will open a claim and then it will count against you for the next several years. Even when they don’t pay out, and when they say you are not covered. Bottom line, their insurance customer service is bad.
Negative experience: Put the business offline on AAA if you don't have the capacity to take more cars. Don't ask customers to go away after getting there car towed to your location. Hope you'll be respectful & more responsible.

Positive experience: Nice guys, but was unaware the amount of labor they charged. Ford Escape…almost $700. Battery, oil change, brake fluid, and one other fluid. Ridiculous.
Positive experience: They serviced my fiancé's car. Personally, I felt the prices were a bit high for what was done to the car (I work in the industry, I know this) but my fiancé did not know. It cost a lot of money for us but his car is driving better than it was. Some of the repairs suggested weren't completely necessary - but again, this had to get done fast for my fiancé to be able to commute to work. I don't know if I would personally use this center because I felt that services were pushed that weren't exactly urgent or needed compared to the tire issues.

Fantastic experience: On March 23rd I stopped in for some assistance with completing my application for a passport and to get passport photos taken. There was a brunette working behind the counter of the travel side of the center. She was extremely helpful and super patient when answering all of my questions. I feel bad that I cannot remember her name. I've been a AAA member for around 20 years but never used any of the travel services offered. It was a rainy day and we wound up taking a couple of pictures to get the lighting right but she absolutely made sure I was happy with the picture. Thank you for making it such an easy experience.

Positive experience: "tires" == rotation. Probably won't come back for oil changes since so expensive now and requiring synthetic oil - not worth it for my 1998 Beetle and 2007 Prius.
Negative experience: I have my car towed to this location as a closest one. It's a appeared that my MAF sensor was malfunctioning and it was replaced. They also proposed to perform fuel injection clean-up and I asked for additional oil change. They didn't perform oil-change, and total cost for diagnostic+MAF replacement+fuel clean-up was $780. The very next day I had my check engine light switched-on, went to Autozone and check for codes there for free. It showed MAF code and Catalytic Converter problem. Returned back to the service and they said, that MAF sensor was a defective and installed a new one again under warranty, I've also asked again for oil change but it wasn't done again. The codes didn't go away, but they sure me that MAF sensor is okay now and the Catalytic Converter should be replaced under Federal Emission warranty. I went to 2 Mazda dealerships and they told me that installed MAF sensor is not an OEM part and aftermarket parts may cause the same symptoms, so they need OEM MAF before Catalytic Converter can be replaced, but AAA were constantly making me sure that this should not be a problem. AAA agreed to order and install an OEM MAF and I only pay a difference of $90 from aftermarket one. From the 3rd attempt they've replaced MAF sensor and all codes were cleared, but their charged me $116, when I asked how the price changed, their told about additional fees and taxes, that they never mentioned on a phone. So, I got a lot of headache, spent a lot of time and $900 and was forced to buy a new car, because I couldn't drive my own for almost 4 weeks. PS. Official Mazda dealership diagnostic and repair at Raleigh would cost about $700 in total to do the same. PPS. I can clearly feel my engine is not working like it worked before. Bad MAF could cause some internal damage to engine. Would never recommend this location to anyone.

Negative experience: I have been bringing my vehicle here for years. It is an older vehicle , my only vehicle and I have had to bring it back several times as the same problems repeat themselves. I don’t know if they are getting discounted parts, but I sure pay full price and then some. Very expensive parts and labor to have to repeatedly bring back to replace and wait 2 days each time for them to repair. The only saving grace is the 12 month warranty. They have gone downhill in repairs and customer service. I do NOT recommend them.

Negative experience: Called to find out the price for replacing spark plugs on vehicle and they were a $156 more than the dealership . They wanted to charge me $298 to replace 4 spark plugs on a Toyota Camry.
Negative experience: I decided to take advantage of their $49.99 synthetic oil change special for our 2010 Honda Insight EX . They were able to communicate with me well (text and email) leading up to a finish time, but I was surprised when the final bill was $59.99. I asked what else was charged and the service attendant, Mark Stevens, stated an oil disposal fee was assessed. I looked at the $5.20 fee on the receipt which stated "Supplies". Obviously, this is a "slop" fee that is not included in the advertised price. Sadly, I felt ripped off because I didn't get the deal I wanted to and now they lost my business and others from this report. In addition, and with respect to Crystal T.'s report of 1/11/2019, they tried to sell $2,700 of repairs which I didn't need. Who are these people???

Positive experience: They did much better on my second visit. On my first visit, I got pricing by phone on an item and we had a communication problem. On my second visit I asked for written estimates (by email) and we were able to talk through the details to ensure I was getting what I wanted/ needed and expectations were clear. They are easy to deal with, my only complaint is their parts pricing seems high.
Fantastic experience: My first time using AAA Apex Car Care Service. What a great experience. Scott Pacinelli, Manager, was great. A few days before my service, I talked to Scott over the phone. He was helpful, professional and courteous. Then meeting him in person, I received the same friendly treatment. I went in on a very busy day to get a brake light replaced. No sooner did I sit down in the very comfortable, clean, lounge area, service had completed the replacement. I'll be going back for auto service in the future!

Fantastic experience: Amazing service at this location. We were hoping to get a used car inspected prior to purchase, no where was able to squeeze us in. The team here was very courteous, professional, and accommodating and worked hard to help us out. Their work was honest and efficient. Not only that, but they are taking covid precautions very seriously to protect customers and staff. They went above and beyond to help us out, we will definitely be returning to this location.

Positive experience: Been a loyal member since 2014 here in apex- before that in Michigan as well. Did have an issue after some repairs (these things happen) the manager Scott was responsive and reasonable - and quickly made things right.
Fantastic experience: I love AAA - well worth the price. Came out to a flat tire that morning - called AAA and they came very fast and they fixed it crazy fast. Everyone should have AAA and upgrade to the 100 mile towing is worth it. AND do you know you can go the the office and get your next trip mapped out, they have coupons, free maps and some locations take passport photos and you can renew your driver's licenses. And if you break down because of an old battery - if requested they will bring a new one to you. And discounts on hotels. Ok I am done!

Fantastic experience: I was iffy about using this place after looking through reviews, but my alternator had given up when I was less than a mile away so I chanced it! I was very happy with the results. I know a fair bit about cars, and I felt that I was fairly priced. I was given an exact estimate, and that is what I was charged. I dropped it off without an appointment right before close, and it was ready the next day at lunch. Thanks Scott!
Negative experience: From the moment we arrived to take care of the disposal of my son's car that had been towed there by AAA, Scott gave us an attitude and very negative impression. He kept asking the same questions and treated us like an inconvenience. He talked down to my 28 year old son and asked where his mother's AAA card was. He dismissed my questions about what the process was to have a car junked from their lot by saying he had no idea because they are an auto repair service. He was short and actually nasty until I picked up one of his cards, then all of a sudden he was interested in helping. By then, we had had it with him. I had to remind him to wear his mask over his nose to which he replied the plexiglass had kept him safe so far. He told us that if we even attempted to take the plate off the car or leave with the keys before the wrecker came that day that the car would be " impounded" so we would have to pay fees to get it back. I would avoid auto care here because of his attitude.
Fantastic experience: I recently needed repair on my car so we called AAA Auto Repair in Apex. From the first phone call until picking up my repaired vehicle later the same day, Scott and the team were professional, kind, and very helpful. I am very pleased with Scott and everyone at AAA. Highly recommend!

Scott Pacinelli in particular provides excellent customer service and has done a fantastic job of taking care of my vehicles over the years. Negative experience: I had previously given this location a 5 star review that I must now retract. I have visited two more times since and both have been very disappointing experiences. The employees don't seem to know if you have made an appointment and really don't seem to care. I understand that during COVID there will be additional time for disinfecting the car but the employees are quoting at least two hour waits for any service. I made an appointment for a state inspection. I was told I had to wait at least two hours. I asked if my appointment time would be honored and was told "I don't know what that means". I took a seat and could see the employees behind the counter talking about me. It was extremely unprofessional and I will not be returning to AAA for car services.

Negative experience: Went for an oil change and requested OW-20 oil. Scott made it look like that was not an option and instead had only three packages. Good, better, best. Little did I know they were being dishonest and were upselling their additives to bring up the cost of the service to over $70. Please be honest and ask the customer if they need additives or the base package, but please don't mislead your customer. We trust the AAA name and you will tarnish it.

Negative experience: Had car’s oil changed today. The drip pan started dragging after driving on the Interstate for about an hour. Poor quality and will not return to this location.

Fantastic experience: I responded to an add in the mail to have my Jeep oil changed and locate an oil leak. Larry was outstanding explaining what the technician were doing and why there was a delay in completion of the job. They added a dye to the oil and within a month or 1000 miles they could identify the location instead of Easter-egging it. They also performed a diagnostic on the Jeep and I'm sure I will bring it back for brake shoe replacement too. I had no idea they did car repair and after this appointment I'm going to join AAA.

Fantastic experience: AAA discontinued the shuttle service at the beginning of this year, which means taking my car here is less convenient. However, I'm giving the Apex location five stars because the staff is friendly, helpful, and most importantly, competent. They let me know when something is beginning to need attention, and I trust the recommendations they make. It's not their fault the corporate office decided to discontinue the shuttle.

Negative experience: I agree 100% with Jack Martin - I recently went in for an oil change and the mechanic said i needed to get my transmission mount replace. Estimated price was $1600 and he ordered the part. He wanted me to give the go ahead to get started. He said it was a 9.5 hour job and I couldn't wait that long so I rescheduled for two days later. In the meantime, I took it for a second opinion, paid the $70 bucks at a dealer to do a check as well as check the transmission mount - Dealer said it was fine and no leaks. Now I don't know who to trust - I have had my car serviced at AAA almost 3 years now and I have paid more to them than what i bought my car for. I have had a wheel hub replace, alignment, brakes, etc... each time there was always something new with an added cost. I now question their integrity and back to searching for an honest mechanic.

Negative experience: So I made an appt for 11am on Dec 30 and was told that as soon as diagnostic was done they would call. Got a text at 2:42pm (ALMOST 4 HOURS LATER) " We are evaluating your vehicle.....blah blah blah. Called at 4:35 pm- Got hung up on. Called right back and spoke with Scott- car still being looked at. 5:47pm- still no call and they close at 6pm so I call and Scott said they are not done with diagnostics and will need another hour or so in the morning. He also said that he was so busy and he was going to call me right before he left. (My point here is why not just call me when you have the info) Morning of Dec 31- They open at 7:30am. I finally call them AGAIN at 11:46am- talked to Scott again and he said the mechanic is out to lunch and as soon as he gets back he will talk to him and call me back. The mechanic gets back at 12 noon ( so about 20-30 min I should get a call right?) WRONG!!! 1:13pm I call AGAIN and Scott says he is driving and if he could call back when he gets back to the shop. At this point, I am mad and frustrated. I feel like I am getting the brush off, what is wrong with my car and why don't you know what is wrong with my car? After refusing another brush off, I demanded he tell me what is wrong with my car and lo and behold, he knew it what was wrong, told me and all while driving and not having to look at notes. I am also in the customer service business. Appointments mean, that is when services will be rendered, NOT OVER 3 HOURS LATER. When you say you are going to call THEN CALL! I shouldn't have to chase you down and call this many times to get an update on a DIAGNOSTIC !! Busy is busy, but when I finally demanded some kind of answer, got the answer and this after making my strong demand, lo and behold.....IT TOOK A WHOLE 4 MIN AND 10 SECONDS!!! ======BAD BAD BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! Because he couldn't make a 4 min phone call, you lost a customer that was bringing 2 cars for you to service. Hope it was worth it. SIDE NOTE: I brought my car here in 2016 and left for whatever reason. I tried them again in 2018 and Paul was there and his job was to bring "locations" up to par. He knew what customer service was about. If they didn't move him to a location so far away, I would travel to bring my cars to him. Now that he has gone, I feel that AAA Apex is back on its way down. I'll never go back. I'm not trashing the work they do. I'm disappointed in how they handle the clients. RECEPTION IS THE FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND IF YOU HAVE A FRONT DESK INCAPABLE OF HANDLING ITS CUSTOMERS, IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW SKILLED THE ACTUAL WORKERS ARE. THE FRONT DESK FAILED. 4.minutes. and. 10. seconds.----all that was needed to keep this customer happy
