Kayak Lake Powell: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Great trip! Our guide Skylar was awesome. We kayaked to antelope canyon and hiked it. Thanks for a great time and memories.
Fantastic experience: From start to finish we had a great experience. Skylar checked us in with zero hassle. He made sure we knew where we were going to meet up with our guide Syd. Once we got to the meetup location and received our flotation devices, our group headed down the ramp to where Syd had pre-staged our kayaks and paddles. She made sure the group knew the basics of kayaking. She then brought each kayak down to the water and ensured each member’s kayak was steady as we got into them. Once we were all loaded, we had an amazing paddle through the Antelope Canyon and the experience was great!! Syd was very knowledgeable with the features and the history of the canyon. On the return paddle, once we got back to the launch area Syd was ready to receive us and assist us in getting. She brought all the kayaks back up for us. This was a great experience and highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Kayak rental went smoothly--the company was great to work with. And the paddle into Antelope Canyon was magical.
Fantastic experience: We had an excellent time out with Skylar this past week! The check in process was very easy and organized. The tour itself was really fun and we got to see a part of Antelope Canyon that is only accessible by water which meant less crowds. The hike itself is mostly flat and easy to navigate, no technical skills really needed. I wore hiking sandals and those were perfect. You WILL get wet and need to step into knee deep water to enter and exit the kayaks. Skylar is super knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor that made the trip all the more enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: We had an early morning Kayak Tour. Not too hot and less crowds. We really enjoyed it!
Fantastic experience: What a beautiful experience. Very nice equipment and life jackets . Skylar was patient , informative and attentive. Julia in the office was extremely professional and handled our stress perfectly. Thank you for a great experience
Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with Kayak Lake Powell -- Skyler and Julie really helped us out as we had to change our plans several times. Even on the day of the rentals, they went out of their way to make sure we had a good experience. We heartily recommend them -- if you're up for a bit of a paddle and a beautiful hike. Amazing experience and a beautiful day.
Fantastic experience: 1000/1000! My boyfriend and I had the absolute best experience with the kayak and hike of the lower antelope canyon. The staff was 100% amazing and responsive. We came from Florida sun got lost and missed out time and they were so nice to rebook us for a later tour. We are just so thankful to experience the beauty of this trip with such a great guide! Shoutout to Rocco! He’s great at taking some amazing pictures as well! If you’re thinking of booking… do it!
Fantastic experience: Great family owned business that handled well our daily rental of 4 kayaks during labor day weekend. Online booking and waiver signatures are easy and efficient. Got an early start and spent all day kayaking to and hiking within a third Antelope Canyon, only accessed by water. Leave energy for the paddle back, as by afternoon there are more power boats out creating bigger waves. Amazing day....highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: We had a great time, thank you.. Brand new kayaks, great experience. Thank you so much!
Fantastic experience: We booked a kayak tour and we were just so amazed with the team. Julia was extremely accommodating and super nice! She answered all our questions patiently and gave us all details and assured us very well. Rocco took us on the actual kayak tour, he was very informative and very helpful. It’s a great company and super helpful people, I would highly recommend this
Fantastic experience: We had a large group booked for 20 plus kayaks. The day we were supposed to go was overcast and they were nice enough to let us know before they even gave us the option to switch to whichever day we want. They were very flexible with us and amazing service. We ended up going anyways had a great time a few of us couldn't go that day but they were nice enough to give them a rain check and let them go to the next week. Great location great activity a lot of fun and amazing service.
Fantastic experience: Julie was a queen! I was late to my kayak tour and missed it (if you sign up for the kayak tour get there 45min early, they will tell you before hand, but I was an idiot and didn't check my phone until like 10 min before). I knew it was non refundable, so I was ready to just take the L and move on, but they offered to let my sister and I rent a kayak for the day, and even called me offering spots in tours later in the day. Everyone was so nice and accommodating, even when I was fully the one who fked up. Great experience, would def recommend!
Fantastic experience: Great experience! Wonderful tour guides. Thank you Skyler and Rocky!!! We would definitely come back!
Fantastic experience: Great customer service! Easy and efficient location
Fantastic experience: We had a beautiful wonderful time with the rentals! Kayaking round trip from antelope point launch area to lower antelope canyon about 3 hours. The rental was effortless and they provided great options to do with kids!
Fantastic experience: Really fun and a great way to see part of Antelope Canyon up close. Kayaks are dual and easy to operate as long as the wind is not blowing too much. On that note, they called us to move our reservation to earlier in the day due to increased winds forecasted when we were scheduled to go. We got to do some cliff jumping and swimming as well. Only recommendation would be to tell guests to bring their national park pass if they have one - otherwise you will have to pay $30 at the park gate entrance.
Positive experience: I gave it just 3 stars because their vests and seats are sooo old! Be prepared for a lot of waves when you are kayaking on a lake but in a canyon area it is very nice and peaceful.
Fantastic experience: Great experience! The guides were helpful, informative, and kind. You will be sore if you're not very active, but WORTH IT!
Fantastic experience: Had the absolute funnest time on this kayaking tour! Our guide (Jon) was super kind, patient, and friendly. We were a party of 8 on the tour, ranging from ages 5, to 56, it was a breeze! Jon was the best. I cannot possibly say enough positive things about our wonderful experience. We will definitely be coming back and we will be recommending them (KLP) to everyone!
Fantastic experience: nice experience and Sid was a great guide
Fantastic experience: The process to book and return the kayak is very smooth and the person also gave us basic guide and tips for kayaking. The view is great too!
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience, Friendly, Profesional and exceptional staff that go above & beyond to help and make your visit safe and easy. Highly recommend using them!
Fantastic experience: Excellent staff, seamless check-in process, clear instructions. Shoutout to Skyler, he was awesome at the Launch Ramp with some great tips.
Fantastic experience: The Kayaking was wonderful on Lake Powell. We especially liked hiking Antelope Canyon. On the way back to the marina, we stopped to go swimming along the shore. It really felt great!
Fantastic experience: Easy process with KLP! We enjoyed our time, and our guide (Rocco?) was very patient during a time our adult daughter became overheated in the canyon. Having to wait for her to feel better extended our time by about 30 minutes, but he was okay with this and just wanted to make sure she was okay. We'd use them again if we were to head back to kayak.
Fantastic experience: Had an awesome day paddling on Lake Powell/hiking into Antelope Canyon! Staff at KLP were very knowledgeable and helpful in getting us set up and on the water quickly and safely. Thanks Dapo for your help at the launch area! Highly recommend the team at Kayak Lake Powell!
Fantastic experience: Jon was a great guide and created a wonderful experience! I would highly recommend this tour.
Fantastic experience: We did the 8:30 a.m. Antelope Canyon hike & kayak tour. Our tour guide Rocko was fun and very knowledgeable—we felt safe & in good hands. The canyon hike was priceless! Definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience: This was the best of both worlds for kayaking and hiking in this beautiful location! Our tour guide, Rocco, was fantastic in explaining and sharing stories and information about the lake. please do it if you are considering it!
Negative experience: Not very safety ready
Positive experience: Great time kayaking Lake Powell and seeing part of Lower Antelope. Our guides, Sid and John, were awesome and very helpful. Hard to not give this experience a 5 star but it is a tough trek while on Lake Powell. The water can be rough with the wake of big boats…. I wouldn’t suggest this for older individuals. However, once you turn into the cove it’s an amazing experience. We didn’t plan accordingly - make sure you bring plenty of water, maybe a snack and shoes you don’t mind getting wet because they will get wet.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic kayak and hike adventure. Stunning scenery all around. Our guide, John, was fun, informative and funny. Not too difficult but a good workout. I’d say it’s best if you are in decent shape to do this.
Fantastic experience: Super friendly attendance, always ready for a short chat and good advice, rebooked my rental for another day because of rain free of charge. Generally pleasant experience and seems like the best option in town price and service wise. Maybe a side note not related to this business as it’s not part of their responsibility but the amenities at the lake itself: I’m a young guy in great shape but it’s pretty tough to bring the kayak back up to the ramp when the water level is low especially after a 2h hike and 2h kayak day. Just keep that in mind and maybe ask for help if you need it.
Fantastic experience: We did a day rental, staff was friendly and ensured safety!
Fantastic experience: Awesome experience kayaking through Antelope Canyon. I recommend this as a fun activity for exploring the wonders of Arizona! Kayak Lake Powell provided a seamless rental experience, and was reasonably priced.
Fantastic experience: We wanted a budget friendly self-guided option to see Antelope Canyon and this company delivered on both! It was such a cool experience to see the canyon from the water at our own speed. The staff was very kind and even let us get a head start prior to 8 a.m. I highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: We had such a great experience on our guided kayak/hike tour with Kayak Lake Powell! John and Sid our guides did such a great job, and made us feel so comfortable the entire time. Such a fun and unique way to see the canyon!
Fantastic experience: My family of 5, including 3 teenagers, really enjoyed this scenic trip through Antelope Canyon. Our guide Sydney was a friendly, relaxed free spirit -- the perfect person to guide us through one of the most beautiful areas of this country! I just loved this quiet and serene kayaking experience - a terrific way to escape the busy crowds!
Fantastic experience: Awesome way to see antelope canyon and experience Lake Powell at the same time. This part of the canyon is only accessible by boat so I imagine it’s significantly less crowded than a land tour. Our group was the only people we could see for most of our hike. Would recommend bringing versatile water & hiking shoes (Keen’s are great) and wearing quick dry attire. Our tour guide Syd was so much fun and really knowledgeable!
Fantastic experience: Incredible half day tour to Lower Antelope. John was an awesome guide. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Excellent customer service, knowledgeable and friendly staff! We got to go out early AM on a cold morning with Sydney who shared all the historical and cultural information about the region as well as provided us with caring attention thru ought our 4-hour kayak tour into Lower Antelope Canyon. The lake was incredibly serene, the landscape breathtaking and the hike into the canyon awe inspiring. We will be sure to come back again! Loved every moment of our experience!
Fantastic experience: Jon is a fun spirit who expertly handled the needs and wants of the entire group of eight. He is helpful, kind, and gracious. We had a remarkable experience kayaking and hiking lower antelope canyon. Based on our experience- Prepare to be wet and get muddy on your feet, and be sure to bring water and possibly a snack. Bring a towel to keep in the car for after the adventure. Highly recommend for any adventurous spirit!
Fantastic experience: The Antelope Canyon is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever seen! Getting there by kayaking was a great experience! Went beginning of October and the water was so nice, we stopped for a swim. 100% recommend!
Fantastic experience: We did 2 double sit on top kayaks to Antelope Canyon! It was my first time kayaking and I loved it! Kayak Lake Powell supplied everything we needed and gave us guidance on time needed, the hike and the weather. Highly recommend
Fantastic experience: Pretty straightforward process! We rented 2 double kayaks and they had them waiting at the ramp. The gear is a bit on the older run-down side but they did the job. We had a blast paddling for many hours to Antelope. If you have your National Park Pass, bring it because the kayak launch is behind the ticketing booth.
Fantastic experience: One of the best and simplest experiences we've had with rental kayaks. Called Adam to check if my husband and I can rent a double-kayak, same day, IN THE NEXT 20mins*** and he was able to hook us up with zero issues. He was super friendly and a pleasure to talk to! We then met Alan at the boat launch who gave us thorough instructions on how to have the best (and safest) experience on the water and in the canyon. Highly recommend Kayak Lake Powell to everyone!
Fantastic experience: What a great day it was to kayak Lake Powell and then to hike in the Canyon. The people working were great and very helpful
Fantastic experience: It was a great trips for the solo and group kayakers! Drew was a great guide in helping us learn about the Canyon while also getting some pictures for all the groups. Great experience and I highly recommend to anyone considering it!
Fantastic experience: Awesome experience! Logan my guide couldn't have been any more personable & knowledgeable. Only wish the hike was longer . If a 56 year old woman, beginner kayaker can do this anyone can!
Hi Mitzi! Thank you so much for your glowing 5-star review and for choosing Kayak Lake Powell for your adventure! We're thrilled to hear that you had an awesome experience with Logan as your guide.
Negative experience: Tourist trap!!! I really don’t understand the 5 stars reviews , probably because these people booked a tour and maybe tours are well organised? I booked a double-kayak, no instructions were given, no guidance on where to go was given, not even a hand to push the kayak into the water or to help us getting out of the water at the end . I had to jump inside the water with my shoes on to bring the kayak out. We went out of the water after 10 minutes because the lake was too wavy and I felt scared. Why are you so unprofessional with tourists?
Fantastic experience: Had a great tour with Tony, who was a fantastic guide. Highly recommended!
Fantastic experience: Excellent kayaking and hike. The company sent us a few reminders so we didn't forget. The tour guide was awesome, so informative and helpful. I would not recommend this for kids under 10, the kayaking and hike is moderately strenuous.
Fantastic experience: We had such an amazing time with our tour guide, Tony. He gave us a lot of information about the rocks and Lake Powell. It was fascinating! We were worried that it would be too hot, but we did the 8:30am tour and the weather was perfect. The water was amazing and I even jumped in!
Hello Reinelle, it was great to hear that you enjoyed your Lake Powell tour. We hope to welcome you back again soon!
Fantastic experience: Great experience and great service. Everything has been easy and they are very flexible and nice. Enjoy a beautiful tour in the canyon and expect a lot of fun
Fantastic experience: Ty was great! The experience was incredible and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit the Antelope Canyon/Lake Powell area.
Fantastic experience: Had a great time, the views were incredible and our guide and group were both awesome. It was definitely more physically challenging on the kayak back than I was prepared for but since they are dual kayaks, it was manageable. Bring tons of water, sunscreen, and a camera!
Fantastic experience: Extremely easy booking process, fair prices, and very friendly staff! Booked a double kayak for my boyfriend and I and it was perfect. We were able to pick the kayaks up right on the boat ramp and before we took off we were given helpful directions and tips! Would recommend
Fantastic experience: Amazing service! The company was so lovely and helpful - specially Tony and Allen helped us out since we slashed a tyre before we even got to the tour (thank you so so much). And thanks to our guides Logan and Ty (hope we got the names right sorry) - super lovely and helpful! Thanks a bunch ☺️
Fantastic experience: Josh our guide did a terrific job, he keep everyone informed about what we were doing and how we were going to do it. He was informative, professional and pleasant to be around. He did a great job explaining the terrain and what we were looking at and even did a demonstration regarding the formation of the sandstone wall. I tipped him online when I purchased the tickets as well as after our tour. He also air dropped pictures of my wife and I to us at the end of the day. Please make sure he receives the tip I included online. Thank You, David King
Fantastic experience: This was absolutely amazing! The views were breathtaking! Drew was our guide and he was very knowledgeable of the area and history of Lake Powell and Antelope Canyon. And, he’s an awesome photographer. Knew all the cool spots for the best captured pics. Weather got a little sketchy toward the end but, he made certain we were all good for the duration. Thanks for a great time!!
Fantastic experience: Tony and Tai were great ! We are very glad we got to see a different side of Antelope Canyon that wasn't so crowded. It doesn't really say anywhere though on the website that this is the public access section of the lower canyon and not the lower canyon that the walking tours are on in the Navajo Nation that most people are looking for, so just be aware! Still beautiful though and would do it again
Positive experience: The website promotes kayaking to the Antelope Canyon. Beware independent rentals are no longer taken to the Antelope Point Marina which is where you need to leave from to go to the Antelope Canyon. When I complained, they allowed us to go to the right Marina.
Fantastic experience: The kayak and hiking tour of the lower canyon was beautiful! You kayak to the canyon for about 1.25 hours, then hike through the canyon for about the same time, then kayak back. It was a good trip!
Fantastic experience: A wonderful experience with James as our guide! Definitely not to be missed!
Fantastic experience: Had an amazing tour with Tye! We were stuck in traffic due to road closures, and he was happy to wait for us to make our booking. We had so much fun and felt like we were kayaking with a friend. Highly recommend this tour!
Fantastic experience: This was a terrific experience and am SO glad to have been able to do this. Recommend going early in the morning when there is little to no wind as kayaking against the wind is not easy! Our guide, Brandon, was great at ensuring we were all safe and kept a decent pace throughout the 4-hour experience.
Fantastic experience: We had an incredible experience with the staff that were very supportive and accommodating. Truly a bucket list trip that they made affordable and enjoyable. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in Page.
Negative experience: Beware scam!!! to flee!!! I booked a kayak for such a day and then I receive an email that I was rebooked on another day 2 days later without any explanation even though the weather is very nice and there is no thunderstorm risk. But since I'm doing a roadtrip I won't be there in two days and they refuse to refund me entirely. It's not honest! I am very angry !
Pauline we are sorry that you feel that way. Saftey is our number 1 priority and we keep a very diligent eye out for unsafe weather conditions. If there is unsafe weather primarily wind on a tour we prefer to keep you safe than put you in a dangerous situation. So if inclement weather or wind occurs we will attempt to reschedule the tour for a different time or refund individuals who cannot reschedule.
Negative experience: AN ABSOLUTE SCAM. Beware before booking this excursion. They have a non refundable fee of $50 per person. We booked a tour through them which they cancelled due to the weather (wind) but they would not refund us the entire tour. We were only at this location for one day of our road-trip and could not rebook so we lost $100 between the both of us. Spoke with management and they did not do anything for us. 10/10 would not recommend
Fantastic experience: Alan was great! He was informative and knowledgeable of the area. Also gave us some great tips on a nice hike after parking the kayaks up on the sand. Great experience. Great people. Great location!
Fantastic experience: We had an issue and we talked to he on the live chat and he helped us right away by connecting us to the right people who contacted us within 5 mins and got issue resolved. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: They are proficient, educated, careful, and kind. We were appreciative!
Fantastic experience: I would recommend their service to anyone in the area!!
Positive experience: Noah our tour guide was great. However his partner Owen was at the back of the tour. We were the last kyak a d he never looked back for us. Once in the anyone we were 5 turns before he even ame to check on us. 2 tour guides are one in front one in back to keep the group safe. We were left.
Negative experience: We had a terrible experience with Kayak Lake Powell. We rented a kayak at 9am and they postponed until 10am, which was alright considering our last minute booking. Unfortunately they never showed up for the drop-off. When we called them they told us the guy was already there. So we searched again but no one was there, after the second call the lady on the phone told us that he was still on his way and took at least an half hour more to get there. The lady on the phone made us feel like it was our fault which was very rude as we didn't do anything wrong. During our wait there was another company that did drop-off their kayaks for people and they heard our story and told us it was definitely not the first time to hear a story like ours. I really don't know why this company has a 4,9 rating, I guess people don't take the time to write a review.. Please do yourselve a favor and don't book with this unreliable company!!
Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience. Nick and Gavin were our guides, young but knowledgeable, laid back but completely making us feel safe and cared for during our excursion. They were also charming and very funny. If cable tv is looking for their next reality show, they might want to talk to these guys! Our family of four includes two hard to please teens and two of us are much more athletic than the other two, but this tour suited us all.
Fantastic experience: Captain Anthony is very knowledgeable about the entire Lake Powell and very nice to us. We totally enjoyed the trip.
Fantastic experience: Dave and Nick were full of knowledge and were incredible chefs. We loved it. We didn't know it was the beginning of the meteor shower - what a surprise! We laid in our cots right next to the lake watching shooting stars over head. So nice. Thanks Kayak Lake Powell.!
Fantastic experience: He was so personable and made our day special. We loved the kayaking, the hike thru labyrinth canyon, the boat ride and the fabulous lunch Anthony provided. Couldn’t have asked for a better day/experience! Well done to Anthony and Kayak Lake Powell..
Fantastic experience: The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and gave me and a friend a sweet deal on a couple kayaks for the day. Needless to stay I can wait to get back to Lake Powell to give these guys more business and explore one of the most beautiful lakes I've ever been to. Thanks again!
Negative experience: Scenic but overpriced! We did the tour in hope we could see parts of the Lower Antelope Canyon and also enjoy kayaking on Lake Powell. It turned out that you only get so see a different part of the Canyon. We misunderstood the description. So for a tour, that doesn’t take you to these parts of the canyon and you can easily do on your own without a guide $120 dollars are way to expensive. We booked a kayak rental for Antelope Canyon in the first place because we wanted to do the tour on our own. We checked their homepage if it’s possible with the water level being low and found information on FAQ that it would still be possible. After receiving the confirmation, we were informed that we booked the rental for Wahweap Marina. We contacted the office for a refund and were asked if we are able to read the confirmation. This was quite rude since the information provided are misleading.
Fantastic experience: Very enjoyable Day out. Our original booking was canceled secondary to rain and flash flooding in the slot canyons, the agency was very responsive and re-booking us for the following day. We altered our trip plans and I’m very glad that we did so because we had the most amazing tour guide Noah who was extremely knowledgeable about the geography of the surrounding lake and canyon area. He showed us all the best spots to enjoy amazing pictures and refreshing swims. Definitely worth the money! 5/5
Fantastic experience: Great agency to book a trip. The tour was canceled because of flash flood but they quickly rebooked us for the next day. We had the best tour guide ever: NOAH! Very knowledgeable about the area and extremely friendly and kind. Thanks, Jordane & Ryan
Fantastic experience: I loved getting to meet Connor in the office and ethan during our tour. Such a great company and experience, looking forward to coming back. Connor and Ethan are men!
Negative experience: The kayaks were the same you can get from any other kayak renting company there and were ok. The service was quite bad: we had to drive to the office in the morning just to fill out a waiver, that we had already filled out online. We had to wait in front of the office because it was closed (9.30 am). After knocking Someone came and we had to drive back to wheawap (15 minutes) where the man helped to launche the kayaks that were already there. He couldn’t give us kids-size life vests for our kids, because he had forgotten a key to get them. The kayaking went ok. We had to be back by 5pm or otherwise pay a fine. But at 5 nobody was there to get the kayaks and vests up the hill again.
Negative experience: Our guide was FANTASTIC, but every aspect of our experience with this company was confusing, unprofessional and miscommunicative. We received information in the form of automated emails with multiple different addresses, a notice to appear at an office that wasn't open to sign paperwork with someone who wasn't there, conflicting information about where to meet the guide and enter the water. We wasted 2 hours on the day of our Kayak experience trying to track down employees to get questions answered and get out on the water. We came to find out that the guide, also, was waiting all that time. Very frustrating.
Positive experience: Me and my family really wanted to kayak on the beautiful Lake & walk through the Antelope Valley. After 4 hours in the heat, 40 degrees, some breaks in between and a dirty muddy path we get to the point. It was definitely worth it but timing & assistance is most important! People from the Kayak Rentals were kind but didn’t give enough information on the lake, scenarios and how to kayak. Luckily we were more experienced than we believed, but definitely something to keep in mind. Just ask, prepare, leave early in the morning & enjoy. P.S there are a lot of boats and other tourists on the lake which can cause the water to be troubling due to the high waves.
Negative experience: We were very disappointed by the service as we have not been able to launch our kayak from Antelope point because the responsible at the office told us that he was not doing any launch from Antelope ramp (supposedly due to low water level) but only from Wahweap bay (hence it was not possible to do Antelope Canyon from the kayak). Although we had just received a mail the day before telling it was possible to do the Antelope launch ! In addition, the person at the Wahweap bay looked like it was his first day, not giving any advice nor help with the kayak.
Negative experience: Do not book with this company! We booked on a Saturday evening for a Sunday 9am kayak rental. When we showed up no one was there. We tried calling and texting and no one would answer. I emailed them and 12 hours after our scheduled time they sent an email stating they cancelled due to high winds. I replied that we would like a full refund because they never cancelled, they simply did not show and they would not refund us. They only issued a credit to re-book. They know most of their customers are only in town passing through and will not be able to redeem this. Such a scam!! I believe we were entitled to a full refund given they never even bothered to cancel prior to our time, but they refused. They should have never accepted any further bookings if they knew wind was an issue or when I booked they should have called us and refunded us given they knew the tour was not possible. Terrible business policy, I’ve honestly never been scammed like this before and trust me I’m a person that loves giving a positive review whenever possible.
Negative experience: Needs a more experienced person running the office. I called in the morning to ask about paddleboard availability - she asked if we had a reservation and I said no, fully expecting her to say they were all booked up but surprisingly she said they did have a few options left. We discussed details of what was available on the phone before driving down there. We got lost along the way because Google was directing us to a completely different company/canyon tour even though the website attached to the listing it was pointing us to was the website of the actual office we called. I called again and she clarified their location, but she didn't sound surprised that Google mixed up their office with another company in town. We showed up and she went over the options again, and when we excitedly wanted to book one she told us unapologetically "I can't the system won't let me." It was such a bizarre reason and her delivery was so apathetic we had to ask follow up questions to make sure we understood her correctly. She literally could not book us because, "The system won't let me. I think it's because we've scheduled enough for today we don't need to do anymore." My boyfriend jokingly asked "So our money isn't good here?" And she flat out replied, "Yea." I asked why she didn't mention on the phone either time I called that there may be a possibility that we would not be able to rent from them and she didn't really have a reason. Her attitude was the biggest problem - she was completely unconcerned with the inconvenience and uninterested in trying to offer solutions, alternatives, or even recommendations. We ended up going with a different company and are SO glad we did... the location we actually went with offered a TON of information, expectations, advice, tips, and instructions. I highly doubt this girl would have told us ANY of that, and after reading some of the other reviews I have a feeling our experience could have been a lot worse had we actually booked here. Not being able to book due to unavailability, system issues, or just the fact that it's "too late in the day" are all valid reasons - but unprofessionalism is inexcusable. Whoever answers the phones and runs the office acts as the face of the company. Filling this front end position and retaining an individual with such poor customer service and dead end conversation skills is only going to harm their reputation and negatively impact customer experiences. Proper Expectations = Happy Customers. Do better.
Negative experience: Yes. They have Kayaks, the kayaks float, and they give you paddles and life jackets. The bear minimum a kayak rental company should have. We went in June. We were told over the phone we’d have to get the kayaks to the water from the launch and back to the launch when we were done by using a nearby cliff. We agreed but we’re not told that the cliff was a about 100ft, very steep, covered with loose sliding rocks and was super super dangerous. We packed for a 2 night trip and so we had heavy coolers, camping equipment, and food for the night. It took 2 hours to get the kayaks and gear to the water and finally leave. The workers did not even offer to help us as they saw us struggling. We are 2 athletic strong 27 year olds and still struggled. When we got back the next day there was a family with a physically disabled child trying to get themselves and their equipment back up the cliff, and an elderly couple who were putting themselves in a position where they could easily fall and get hurt. My boyfriend felt obligated to help the family with their 2 kayaks, and the elderly couples kayaks (not to mention our 2 kayaks) at this point there were not even any workers there to possibly assist, I called them 4 times to ask where we put the kayaks and no one answered. It was 96° And sunny that day. Way too hot to be doing all of this by ourselves. The company needs to find a safer system to get the boats to the water especially since the water levels have been so low for the last few months. I would not recommend using this company. Find a company who will get your boat to the water for you so you do not have to put yourself and family at risk. I attached photos of the cliff (it looks much much more manageable in the photo, look how small the boats/people are in the water though) the boats were in decent condition… the bungees used to strap your belongings down were broken on one of our kayaks.
Negative experience: PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE MOST RECENT REVIEWS OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE RENTED KAYAKS. I am starting by saying that tours may be fine, but renting your own kayak is very dangerous and has caused a serious injury that ruined a honeymoon that was supposed to be filled with outdoor activities. We were charged for not bringing up the kayak - had we known about the conditions we would have never gone with this company. It is unacceptable for customers to carry the kayak and it is just a matter of time until someone gets even more injured than us. I will include a photo of the steep and rocky "trail" that you need to carry an extremely heavy kayak down and even worse, back up after hours of hiking and kayaking. The company purposely isn't transparent and offers dangerous services. The customer service was unprofessional (no instructions, almost forgot to hand out life jackets and have us sign a waiver, , no information about current conditions = extremely low water, no response after reporting the accident and then refusing to refund the upcharge for not being able to bring kayak back up).
Negative experience: I admit that part of the blame is on me for not reading through their website carefully. However, I had to change travel plans and now the deposit I made for a tour with this company will not be refunded despite being requested less than 24 hours after booking and 10 days before the tour date. Due to Covid, they will only issue a credit to be used at a future date within 2 years. This cancelation policy doesn't sit well with me. I have never been to Page, AZ before and might not ever visit. However, I can say that if I do, I will not be using this company for any services. Addendum: I contacted the management of this business to politely ask them for a refund in regardless of their unfair policy and in my correspondence, they shared that this refund policy has caused problems before and feel that the policy is more important to them than any customers they might lose and are used to dealing with credit card companies filing payment disputes with them. This is an attitude of a company struggling to stay in business and might not be around much longer. Be wary of anything booked or credits received as they might not be around to honor them.
Fantastic experience: We kayak with “kayak Lake Powell”, our tour guide was Owen. Tour with him was the best, he was knowledgeable, very easy to talk with and was able to suggest us dinner places and our next outdoor adventure. Totally worth the tour with the company and these five stars are for our tour guide Owen.
Positive experience: This is NOT THE REAL PHOTO INSTA ANTELOPE CANYON We did the kayaking trip from the marina down into the LOWEST POINT of antelope canyon. Not to be confused by lower antelope canyon. Definitely wish we had known there was a map in our email. Instead I took word from the tour office which was very confusing and we were then late. Wouldn't recommend this with kids but it's fun to kayak. Now have to book upper or lower antelope canyon!
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience. The captain/ guide was very patient and informative about how to make the best of the trip. Kayaks very well taken care of ! Deffinatly recommend!!
Fantastic experience: We had the most amazing experience with our guide Oscar, who was extremely kind and knowledgeable. The tour is quite challenging if you're not a kayak expert, but it's definitely doable and the stunning views of lake Powell and the canyon will make every effort worth it. Thanks again Oscar!
Fantastic experience: We came in with a last minute need for kayaks and got some on a holiday weekend. They were very helpful and insightful. I would come back here to rent again.
Fantastic experience: Erin was ready for us when we walked in the door with all of our paperwork, equipment, directions, and the accessories we needed for transport laid out. She answered all of our kayaking questions, plus a few extras about everything from geology to local attractions. We had everything we needed for a great day on Lake Powell. Thanks for a great day!
