Positive experience: No way a 2 stat hotel. We had 2 suits so we had a sitting area, rooms on 2nd floor were updated and clean. Staff was very friendly, breakfast was fine, location had places to eat and stores. I just came from Arlington and for under 200 well worth it. Stayed Oct.10-12, 2024

Negative experience: When we checked Saturday August 24th in first room Television didn't work so got the room next door that room the toilet didn't work but got it fixed for the night, hallway was was a little dark and breakfast was ok, just spent a night but definitely not going back
Negative experience: Our experience was a bit frightful! Hookers and drug users...very disturbing. We ate at the Mexican restaurant in front of the hotel...also a disappointment. I can not recommend this hotel nor it's location. I wished we would have driven a few more miles to find a decent hotel.

Fantastic experience: We stayed here as a halfway hotel for a work trip. They do a good job of keeping up with things here. Folks definitely smoked, maybe not in the hotel, but the smell definitely clings to them and comes inside the hallway. My room didn’t smell bad though, and the AC was powerful! On the way back we also stayed and the lovely clerk recognized us. She was great both times. The room was nice and cool even with the heatwave. I really appreciate hotels that have their ac on when it’s hot instead of trying to cut costs and keeping it sweltering in the rooms. It takes hours to get a room cooled down so it was great being able to come in to a cool room after being out in the heat. The room was clean and everything worked properly. The shower had great pressure and I had a nice, quiet, evening. If I’m in the area again I’d definitely stay here again. Editing to add we stayed again for other work projects and it was a good experience as well. It looks like they’re working on updating some things which is always a positive.

Negative experience: Made a mistake with our reservation and they wouldn't let us have the room without paying double. They took our money and we had to go pay for a hotel somewhere else. Avoid this hotel.

Positive experience: Room very clean but hallways could really use improvement
Negative experience: You get what you pay for at $70 per night? Hallway smelled of cigarette smoke, the corner lamp in our room was busted. Outside there was litter scattered about. Would not stay again.
Negative experience: Horrible smell of Marijuana in hall n even into my room. Asked to be move. They denied me to switch rooms due to my service dogs . Instead they wanted to switch me to move me closer to that room. They refuse to do the right thing as a business.the freezer is piled with ice. DO NOT STAY HERE EVEN THE MANAGER TREATED ME POORLY AS A CHOICE REWARD MEMEBER. However the room I was in, was nice.i will give them that. Went to breakfast, no milk substitute for those of us allergic to milk. Some photos of this room with. I forgot to take a picture of the beds at least they were decent. Won't let me upload photos.
Negative experience: Do not stay here! We were in and out within 2 minutes and went elsewhere. Horrible smell of marijuana, more rat traps than I could count, wet sticky chair, brown stained mattress with bugs. Outside has trash everywhere. Does not feel like a safe environment. There was also what I assume was a homeless man hanging out in the weeds by the property. Woman at front desk was nice but you could tell our complaint did not surprise her in the least and she just tried to upgrade us to a suite which we obviously declined.

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful night. Met by Shy to check us in and Pat for checkout after a wonderful breakfast and a night in a nice clean spacious room. Price was good. We had our trailer and truck so we chose to walk to Wendy’s 2 doors over. Many stores within 10 mins. Or take time downtown in a beautiful historic area. Drive off main hwy right to hotel. We would stay here again.

Negative experience: This place is abysmal..dirty and ran down. There is a lot of questionable people hanging around in the parking lot. It looks like its under construction so I'll give then credit for trying to improve it but the contractor working on the building has stuff everywhere...it's a dirty messy jungle
Fantastic experience: My travel work buddy and myself came to Hagerstown area for work. I looked online for places to stay in the area and this place was one of the cheapest available. I do like reasonable lodging without the sketchiness! At first after riding around the parking lot seeing all the renovations they’re doing and a couple people standing outside in the back made me very hesitant. I ended up booking through Priceline and allowed them to choose motels for me and they still chose this one. Also the reviews didn’t make it any better. However, when we entered the room is was nice and brand new, and I do mean everything even the towels and shower curtain. This is our second night I will most definitely stay again whenever I’m deployed for work in this area.
Negative experience: Staff was friendly enough we checked in was surprised by the condition of the hotel the room was Tiny the bed was definitely passed its prime felt like we were in a pay by the hour place we were in the room for 15 minutes checked out and went to the Hampton Inn

Negative experience: Absolutely filthy room. Missing/damaged baseboard molding Missing smoke detector broken door lock Blood Stained an burt bedspread. Lucky I was only doing a quick stopover and didn't book for week for work. In the 20 years I've worked on the road this was by far one of the absolute worst hotels I've stayed at.

Negative experience: Counter was very acomodating after I showed them bed bugs in my room but decided not to stay in it a single more minute, rooms are dark and ac was dirty, lots of construction going on, stay away if you don't want to catch bedbugs
Negative experience: Room wasn't clean (floor not vacuumed, bathroom not scrubbed properly), weed seeped into our room from the person smoking three doors down (not 100% smoke free as sign say), gym equipment was broken and gym not clean (someone's not-yet-empty protein shaker left in there), window was obstructed by boxes, fixes in room and bathroom not done by professional, stains on carpet and furniture (not bed). Everyone at the front desk was nice and friendly though.
Negative experience: Reviews are all boosted by the management to make it more positive reviews. The lobby smells like POT. Never stayed here before and this is the last time for sure. This is one ugly place and filthy place.

Negative experience: This hotel definitely does not justify the price they charge. $89 for 2 double bed standard room. First of all, it says it's a 100% smoke-free hotel, but the entire place absolutely wreaks like cigarettes. The kind of smell that sticks around when you try to cover it up with a coat of paint but dont change the carpet. The room we stayed in smelled terribly like a wet moldy basement. It was a modern, updated room but was not very clean. Stains everywhere. It looked like blood splatter on the curtains. (See my photos) The beds, however, were comfortable. The alarm clock didn't work and made a crackling noise all night. The continental breakfast was nonexistent. You have to ask at the front desk (if you can get the guy to come out of the back room) for the "breakfast," which they call a "to go bag." I assume they still do this because they realized it was cheaper to do it this way during covid and decided to continue to take advantage of this fact. The bag consisted of a yogurt, a pre wrapped muffin, and a cold egg sandwich on an English muffin. My advice is to stay at one of the many other hotels in the area.

Negative experience: This hotel is a combination of an Econolodge and a Quality Inn. First impression was not good. Dumpy lobby, and the clerk was busy playing a slot machine, delaying our check in. Parking was a shady looking lot in back. Walk in to the first floor rooms was much more like an Econolodge than a Quality Inn. Sidewalk outside the room was filthy, and the hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. We could hear a hired woman in another room cajoling her client. My wife went to the lobby to get breakfast - it was a nightmare. There was someone threatening the desk clerk, and and another person screaming about the filthy sheets, towels, and room. The clerk got our bag out of a locked room, and had to escort my wife to our room to protect her from the two people screaming in the lobby. On the plus side, the room was clean, with a comfortable bed. The included breakfast was the Covid excuse bag to go.

Negative experience: I wanted to thank the gentleman at the front desk Who was the proprietor and or the manager. I signed up for the cheap room and he gave me an upgrade. They also made me feel welcome and were very helpful. But the addicts hanging around the back side of the hotel was disconcerting.
Negative experience: Choice Hotels needs to seriously vet the hotels on their site. This place was under renovation. I had hard te finding place and not in a very desirable place to stay. I made reservations and prepaid for an ACCESSIBLE room When arrived told there were none available. Key not work on outside door to get in had to go around other side to get in then prop door open to unload by my room door. No ice, no vending IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER!!!!! Took a shower - mold in grouting. NO SHOWER MAT, I FELL IN SHOWER, which is why I wanted an accessible room. Went back to shave legs in tub and my feet were black from walking on carpet. Parking lot on side was being redone, but ot back by room it was dirty with trash all over. DONT STAY HERE GO SOMEPLACE ELSE!!!!.

Negative experience: Boy oh boy, where do we start. I suppose, I would advise that any review you read that is 5/5 stars be heavily scrutinized as I do not think they are being reportedly accurately. Bottom line up front; would I stay here again? No. I strongly recommend seeking a different hotel. I would rather sleep in my car in a walmart parking lot than stay here. During my stay (6th August, 2022): The good: Room Air conditioning was ice cold. The bed was of good quality, and bedding was clean and stain free. No bed bugs found on thorough inspection, and no bites / insects found in the morning. Fridge (see below) and microwave were spotless, and roach free. Microwave was untested. The middle ground: Bathroom was clean, but there were spots of mold in corners in the shower and on the curtain. Bathroom was well stocked with towels, but was missing the usual wrapped plastic cups (room had 4 in the table). The "grab and go" breakfast is disappointing. A sausage/Biscuit sandwich, a prepackaged muffin, and a fat free yogurt. No fruit. The bad: Black (in color) mold on the shower curtain. This should have been caught by housekeeping, but wasn't. Box spring had dirt/body hair in the crack closest the wall. Room reeked of cigar/cigarette smoke. I believe the circa 1970s carpet and stucco walls retain the smell, and had never been replaced. Missing the clothes Iron in the room. Table lamp switch was broken and missing, meaning the only way to turn off the lamp was to unplug it - which rendered the two integrated outlets useless. Furnishings (table, TV/fridge stand) are very old. Chair foam is no longer soft, and corners of furnishings are worn through the finish. Fridge was not cold - coldish, but not cold (NOT 3 degrees C for food storage), more like 10. Virtually no vending machines. The second floor machines were missing. Building condition: This feels like a converted 1970s motel that was converted, but done poorly. The room doors are chipped, paint peeling etc. Carpets throughout were original and were filthy. Hotel security is "decent": lots of security cameras, but a door that gave access to balcony/windows had been forced to the point it was hanging by 1 hinge. Water on the floor of the ice machine room (I never got ice). Comments and observations: General foot traffic in/out of the hotel is HIGH from the local community. I am not saying the people walking around were involved in the sex/drug trade, but in my experience they exhibited a lot of the signature signs that this is the case. Do not leave any valuables in your vehicle. Some patrons to the hotel are sketchy. Yelling in the hallways, walking around in their nightgowns, etc. Spoke to another couple at checkout who said they had bedbugs (unconfirmed, but stated they were crawling on the sheets in the morning) and were never offered an apology. Hotel manager (sign said the manager on duty was "Shy") but was not available until the next day. Clerk said his name was "Bob" despite being Hindi in appearance (and language) - I feel as though he was being deceptive. I think that the normal "Quality Inn" Buffet breakfast is omitted is because the local community may very well be raiding it in the morning, whereas a "grab and go" breakfast allows the staff to control who gets one. I further think this is a franchise location using the brand name, and cost cutting so as to remain profitable. I feel Choice hotels is letting the consumer down by not inspecting its franchisees/locations more thoroughly. Many of the issues experienced in this room could have been corrected across the site if the area manager inspected the property regularly and thoroughly. Judging by the condition of this room - the area manager has not reviewed this property, or the location has not implemented the required changes. Would I stay here again? NO. Avoid this hotel.
Fantastic experience: Hi my name is kimberly,Kimberly, I love there beds here there super clean comfortable, the kids love there blue berry muffins at breakfast that the serve that's there favorite, the room was clean an ready for us at check in,very pet friendly and alot a spots to walk your dogs,the bathroom is very relaxing an the kids can have a nice bubble bath after a long drive,it's located near a spanish store an restaurant ((yummy)),dairy queen,Weis for microwave food an snacks an also a dollar tree as well as plenty of family restaurants (Quiznos, j' grill,Benny's pug,pizza place an so much more)the staff is very friendly an welcoming,shy the manager is simply to kind for words,she is very sweet to kids pets an everybody ,she has a great positive attitude as well as the staff.my kids love that it as free wifi for there tablets,plus there is disney, nickelodeon, PBS kids for the kids to watch.i would definitely recommend this hotel especially if u want to come in town for work for a few weeks or just passing by.its also freshly painted,they have a nice gym as well an a laundry room where u can do ur work clothes an kids stains lol.so you should definitely stay here!!‽
Negative experience: Hotel smelled like pot and they tried to cover the smell with strawberry air freshener, nauseating to say the least. Absolutely filthy parking area with garbage everywhere. We felt unsafe as there were shady looking people roaming the hallways. At least the room was clean.
Negative experience: Icky is the best way to describe our room: dirty, old, broken (smoke detector was off the wall when we walked in; bathroom door hook broken off; icemaker broken). There’s no elevator in this 2-story building. The beds were soft and lumpy. Although signs around the hotel proclaim it to be a 100% smoke free facility, it reeks of decades of cigarette smoke. We didn’t dare walk barefooted on the icky old carpet. This Quality Inn is anything but.

Negative experience: There is No Breakfast Buffet. Grab n Go option only. Old building/ construction divided into two EconoLodge and QualityInn. AC not cleaned and room smelled like smoke and musty. Dirty chair. 1st impression- Not satisfied at all. Towels were not cleaned either. Found hairs in towels. Glad that Bathroom was atleast Upgraded.
Negative experience: Room was rented for over the weekend. First room has an awful smell in the hallway. In the room, the shower didn't drain, toilet wouldn't flush, and there was human hair on the bed. Room was switched and it smelled strongly of cat urine and cigarette smoke. Very unclean. Another guest asked fir additional towels during their stay and was told by the desk "no. You only get 3 towels!" Stay elsewhere because this place is disgusting!

Negative experience: Gross is the only word that comes to mind. The whole hotel reeked of cigarettes to the point I woke up with a headache and burning nostrils. The room was worn out and dirty with stains on the floor and furniture and poorly patched holes in the wall. We didn't shower because it looked like there were skid marks in the tub. If we hadn't arrived after midnight, we would've demanded a refund and gone somewhere else.

The place was very shabby: paint stains on the hallway carpet, rear outside door lock was broken, room numbers were on handwritten notes taped to the doors and the room had an odor to it. Our room was 2nd floor, no elevator. At 6 pm I went out to get an item from our vehicle. On return, a man & woman were about to open our room door with a master key. The woman said that they were doing a security check. I went to the front desk to complain and the woman on duty immediately got very belligerent. She stated that the two were “her people” and had every right to check rooms. I considered calling the police and in retrospect should have.

Negative experience: Rooms are run down and disgusting. Furniture is run down and nasty. Beds are super sketchy and they re-use the freebie items and access cards. I wouldn't recommend this place for even my dog. I'm not a disgruntled customer... I'm a professional driver and my company thought this place would have been fine. Positive experience: So this hotel is 4/5 stars. Why not 5? Its more than 3 miles off of 81! Management tries really hard and is very attentive. The have a flexible check out time. It is very secure, and close to downtown too!! Their IS some wear and tear as it seems to be an older property, but ultimately it is clean, quiet with large spacious rooms. Would stay again, would recommend to the I-70 traveler, but perhaps think twice all I-81 folks. Oh AND this deal CAN NOT be beat anywhere in Washington County, so keep THAT in mind as well. Cheers.

Negative experience: Booked using booking.com but when I got to the hotel they could not find my reservation. The man at the desk was offered my confirmation number but did not want to use it. I provided my ID so that he could have my exact name and he still could not find my reservation. He offered another available room for $40 more and given the late hour, I had no choice but to accept this offer. The next day after I checked out I checked my credit card account to make sure I was not charged twice and there were 2 charges for this hotel room!!! I tried calling and got no answer, I sent a message through booking.com with no response. Since it was Saturday I waited until Monday to call again. Still no answer so this time I sent an email to the email address on my printout receipt. Now it’s Tuesday and there’s still No response. I remembered that there was also an Econo Lodge at the same property so I called that number- someone answered!!! However, she was not helpful. She stated that she saw my booking.com reservation and was unsure why I wasn’t placed in that room. She offered to call me back so I was patient with her. When she called back she stated that the person who checked me in didn’t see my reservation on booking.com until I had already checked in but she was only willing to refund me the amount for my booking.com booking- NOT the more expensive fee I was forced to pay at the hotel. I’m still waiting for the refund to clear my account. Aside from the accommodations being dirty, smelling like smoke and a little uncomfortable for my liking…the customer service was absolutely horrible! I will never stay here or recommend to friends and family who visit Hagerstown. Horrible.

Fantastic experience: Very nice for the price! I checked in early and the ladies accommodated me. My room was clean, nice big towels and a/c works good. What else could you ask for? About the only thing I could see wrong was the carpet in the hallway was a little dirty but it definitely didn’t affect my room.

Negative experience: Front desk was nice (presence and people). But walking through door 4 smelled, musty. Room was just as smelly and definitely not cleaned thoroughly (kids toys were left under bed). The furniture was stained and looked banged up. Carpet wasn't cleaned and it showed. Arrived today and was told they already charged my CC as a no show because the reservation was for yesterday. Negative experience: I definitely do not recommend this place. The rooms were dirty and the bedding felt damp. I had to pull the alarm clock out from behind one bedside table, and the trash pictured was behind the other one. The top of the dresser did not seem like it was cleaned either. There were rings from cups. The worst part is, I’m pretty sure I found a bed bug on the shirt that I slept in.

Negative experience: Adequate room service was not provided. Called front desk and was told “you can get new towels from front desk but that was it. I asked if I could vacuum my room and was told no. So, my room couldn’t be serviced by your house keepers and I wasn’t allowed to do it myself. Are you kidding! Also, the air conditioner was broken blew out little to no cold air. And on top of it all the bathroom sink was broken. Although it is advertised as a non smoking hotel, the rooms still smelled as if they were being smoked in. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone when visiting family or friends.

We got there and immediately saw druggies everywhere seen a drug deal happen right in front of me in the parking lot. If you have children do not stay here it’s very unsafe. After being there for 20 minutes we decided to leave Bc the smell of cigarettes and weed was absolutely insane and the sign says no smoking or a $250 fine will be applied to your bill. Positive experience: We tried two other hotels and settled on this one: at least it was clean and did not smell. Was a bit of shady activity around a d we were worried about our vehicle. A guy hung outside our hotel window talking to someone in a car about his drug score for a while. Typical Htown stuff you deal with for a clean room under $90.

Negative experience: Having stayed there three nights there was no Internet. All three nights there was a door blocker in door # 4 and kept on reappearing after removing it. Numerous rooms near that were left open with the door locker put outside to keep each room open. Lots of shady activities with cars and people stopping and going. My wife did not feel safe here and frankly neither did I. Only good thing is location otherwise never staying here again. Also no room service, you have to go up to front desk to ask for daily things one needs normally provided by a hotel..

Negative experience: This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It honestly deserves 0 stars. We only stayed here because it was just a rest stop to finish our 9 hour road trip. Upon entering our room the room was not clean. It smelled terrible. The shades had holes in them and had stains on them, the sink in the bathroom had ashes in it, and the toilet was not clean. The towels in the bathroom looked like they were used. I asked the front desk for a new room and he agreed very quickly. The new room was still bad but better than the first. The room did actually smell like lysol, so someone did clean I assume. The bathroom shower and toilet was not clean. The carpet in the room was wet, and there were stains on the wall. Overall I would never stay here again in my life. AVOID! There are cheaper hotels with better quality then this "Quality Inn".

Negative experience: Unbelievable. We got there just passed 3 which is supposed to be check in time. There was no one at the front desk for a half hour. We were told we didn't have reservations even though I had a confirmation number. When we finally got to our room, there was no heat. Someone was working on it and it was easily 55 degrees inside of our room. We were there only 3-4 hours before we discovered a cockroach on the floor. We immediately packed up and checked out. Tried to ask for a refund and was told the manager wouldn't be in until Monday. I called again during the week and was told a refund wasn't possible. Disgusting!!!! Horrible service. Will never ever stay again.

Positive experience: Not much to look at but a much better bed, loved it, to enjoy a good night. If you like stiff and hard, it may have those too, but I enjoy soft and that cloud feel. Friendly staff. I will return

Positive experience: The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and bug free but worn. The AC only works on the max setting, which lead to me waking up every night to turn it off. Then an hour later the room would be burning up, I didn't sleep well because of it. The biggest issue I faced was the Wifi. I Have to have Wifi for work and this hotel has among the worst I've ever used. It would constantly fluctuate and drop completely. I wasn't able to do my work at the hotel, and that caused me some issues. The hotel does have a nice fitness center and is in a great location serviced by GrubHub and Uber Eats. I want to recommend this hotel, but I can't after my experience.

Fantastic experience: The staff here was amazing! We had a large group traveling for a mission trip and this was our stop over. They were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and we would definitely stay there again. The breakfast was also a nice added bonus for a reasonable price!

Negative experience: Stayed there twice first time Sean was very helpful second time was last Thursday front desk staff didn’t understand me and couldn’t speak very good English room was dirty they refused to move me or clean it. I asked for Sean they said they let him go. He was the best thing for them

Negative experience: This was a poor quality hotel. The hallways smell like smoke or stale ashtrays and my room smelled like a dirty dog and urine. They were not able to move me when I arrive at night but did move me the next morning. The Wi-Fi did not work in my room, only in the lobby but I asked for my new room to be near the lobby and I had a little signal. The free breakfast was not great and the oatmeal and fruit were always empty. I would never stay here again.

Negative experience: Room smelled bad, rug felt dirty, sink cracked, walls had cracks, ceiling in bathroom water stained, furniture showed use. Basically an old shabby room. Wondering if they gave us worst room in hotel because we got discount? Nothing spectacular here. Basic bed, but shower did have some water pressure. Nothing "quality" about this place.

Negative experience: Charged me 3 times for one room totaling $330.00 for one room 2 people for 1 night ... they keep saying I will see a refund but no refund ... next step is contacting my credit card to dispute the charges

Negative experience: Smell in room was horrible. Hallway smelled like cigarettes, room smelled like urine. Refrigerator did not work, neither did TV remote. We had febreeze in our car and used it. Had we not been road weary and only needed a few hours of sleep, we would have left.

Negative experience: Smell in lobby, hall and rooms was horrible! $250 charge for smoking in room. How could they tell with the smell? Chunks of dirt in corner. Lots of dirt under seat cushion in chair. Way overpriced for what I got. Have AARP and am a veteran and wasnt able to get either rate. Spouse is in a wheelchair. No elevator. No shower chair. Worst thing is the smell. Woke up with massive headache at 4am from this place! Would never stay here again!
