Fantastic experience: We couldn't be happier with the exceptional service we've received from Kellie Davis on **Destination Weddings and Dreams Las Marea’s Resort in Costa Rica. Kellie Davis has not only made our dreams come true, but she worked with our families and our guest’s day and night to make sure all of their travel is safe and making sure they had the most amazing experience. She was so kind and patient and helped us through every step of the way and Kellie was incredibly responsive, helpful, and answered every question we had. The best experience we had throughout our wedding.

Positive experience: Destination Weddings was a nice experience for a bride who wants to be very hands-off. This was both mine and my husband's second marriages and we knew we didn't want to have big weddings. We decided on PV, Mexico at Hard Rock with our wedding specialist, Christi. Our wedding was January 5, 2025--which made the days leading up to the wedding somewhat hard to get a hold of anyone (due to holidays). One hiccup was booking my own family of 5 in a room that would accommodate all of us. We were only allowed to choose certain room types and I had to book a single room with 2 double beds (for reference, we are 2 adults, an 11, 8 and 7 year old). When I voiced my concern to Christi, she told me she "would see what she could do, but typically when you ask for an upgrade as a bride and groom, they honor it no problem." This was not the case. The resort kept us in this room and when I asked where the 5th person would sleep, the front-desk clerk replied "We could give you a sleeping bag." I was floored. After about 30 minutes of going back and forth, and me being visibly upset, the wedding coordinator talked to the manager and miraculously a joint room became available. However, this cost us $2,000 MORE on top of what we paid. I wish Christi would have called the resort sooner, knowing we are a family of 5 and that 2 double beds would not work. We could have financially planned accordingly. Unfortunately, my mother ended up having emergency surgery in Mexico as well with 3 blood clots in her legs. She missed the wedding entirely. Her situation superseded any other complaint I had. I felt it was important to share--especially for couples who plan weddings with kids. Overall, we made the best of our situation and ultimately, we were happy with the wedding day.

Fantastic experience: I used Lily Carbone to help us with our destination wedding in Costa Mujeres, Mexico. I have nothing but good things to say about Lily. She was quick to respond. If I or any of my guests had any issues or any questions, she was always ready to help! She took so much of the stress of planning a wedding in a different county off of me and all of my guests loved her. I personally 100% recommend using Lily to assist you if you are planning a destination wedding!

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience using Destination Weddings. Lars was very helpful in helping us narrow down which resort we wanted and got the contract negotiated with a few additional perks thrown in that we never would have asked for. Kim organized everyone's travel and was a great liaison with the resort, keeping the stress off of us.

Fantastic experience: We had the best experience working with Jose at DW to book our travel, answer all of our questions, and make a stressful time planning a wedding much easier :) also the perks of booking with DW were awesome! Free cocktail party, upgraded rooms, credit at the end if enough rooms are booked, etc!

Negative experience: TLDR: We DO NOT recommend Destination Weddings until there is better value, care, and experience for customers. We had a very negative experience with them. I had hoped that working with a travel agency would make things easier and help us save on costs, but it made our lives much more stressful, and it cost our guests more. Our first specialist Connie Leite was very unprofessional, not good at basic email communication, and misleading/careless. We had to fire her and were reassigned another specialist. - She failed to inform us of key details of the contract and was not familiar with this herself when we asked. - She gave our guests high quotes, without bothering to look at other options. - She gave extremely different quotes to two guests with the same requirements - She was rude to our guests when they asked for different quotes - Email communication was highly disorganized, did not include important details, and was very unclear. We asked her to stick to one email thread but she did not follow this. Beyond Connie, other things that we were disappointed with: - Our guests found better deals on their own than what Destination Weddings offered. - We had guests who could not make it to our wedding last minute. They booked their hotel through Destination Wedding, and were told that they could not be refunded any amount. But resort staff said that if they booked directly with the resort, all nights would have been refunded except the first. - Our resort wedding coordinator (Dreams Flora - Eunice Pena) was very poor at email communication and provided us with minimal information during wedding planning. - We were not seated next to our group members on the plane like we were promised in our Sunwing package. - The wedding website was difficult to use and outdated. We were quite embarrassed to show this to our guests and opted to set up our own website on a different platform. - The Destination Weddings marketing website misled us by saying we could save thousands by working with them, only to find out much later in the process that this only applies to the US. The only value we got from Destination Weddings was the curation of resorts and some guidance around what to expect during wedding planning. But given the additional stress and the minimal to no cost savings (and in our guest's case, thousands of $ lost because they used Destination Weddings instead of directly booking through the resort), it was definitely not worth it. *We DO NOT recommend Destination Weddings until there is better value, care, and experience for customers.*

Fantastic experience: Stephanie Parks was our wedding coordinator for our Wedding in Cancun, Mexico. We have to give her 5 stars because her service was absolutely amazing! She started by helping us pick a resort that would best accommodate our group of 70 people and her communication with our guests making sure everyone was take care of was amazing. Our guests were constant reaching out to her with questions and last minute changes and she was patient and helpful throughout the process. We stayed at the Majestic Elegance Resort and wouldn’t have wanted this week in mexico to go any differently.

Negative experience: Where do I begin, Kimberlee Key is a nightmare. She started out great but failed to put forth the effort once the contract was signed. We found better prices on the website (which it does state on their website that they will match) and even with screenshots she didn’t try to get us the better rate. There were absolutely no perks because we didn’t make the minimum booking amount (9 out of 10 rooms). She failed to respond MULTIPLE times to many of my guests so they were coming to me with their questions (which honestly isn’t my job to be answering when you book a TA). I stated my frustration after the wedding and she had the nerve to come at me saying why I didn’t say these concerns prior when I DID but again, she wouldn’t answer my guests so I was already playing telephone. Working with Destination Wedding's was a complete rip off and I would NEVER recommend them. I emailed guest services with of course NO RESPONSE. Don’t make the same mistake that I did.

Positive experience: My experience with Destination Weddings was good it did make it easier to have someone else handle the reservations. My consultant was Sue, and we worked well together. My only issue was when room changes happened some people end up overpaying because the change did not calculate correctly. Not an issue I want to be a part of after the wedding.

Fantastic experience: We found our planner Tracy Espina through destination weddings.com. She was so kind and patient and helped us through every step of the way. I told her our budget and what we were looking for. We wanted an all inclusive that was family friendly but also good for adults. She helped us choose dreams riviera Cancún. We just got back from our 7 day trip and everything was perfect! The staff the food the drinks everything was amazing and we had the wedding of our dreams! Our family and friends had the best time!

Fantastic experience: Had the most amazing experience with Cathy Byrnes from Destination Weddings who helped us plan our destination wedding travel to Punta de Mita. Prior to our wedding, we had been a guest at a friends wedding and booked as a guest through Cathy. After that experience was so seamless, it was a no brainer to use her for our own wedding. We had a complicated group with several gateways, multiple airlines and a few unique scenarios. Cathy went way out of her way to assist us. Not only did she bend over backwards for us, she was prompt and available when it came to communication and was so KIND to us and our guests throughout the entire process. We can’t recommend her enough and have already referred some friends to her.

Fantastic experience: Planning a destination wedding can be a daunting task, but working with Sherryl Dabbs from Destination Weddings made it an absolute breeze. From start to finish, Sherryl was prompt in communication and incredibly organized, ensuring that every detail was handled with care. She made the entire process so seamless that we were able to fully enjoy the experience without stress. One of the standout aspects of working with Sherryl was her meticulous attention to detail. She gathered all of our guests’ travel information and preferences, making sure that everyone was taken care of and where they needed to be. It was such a relief to know that we didn’t have to worry about coordinating every little thing—she truly took the weight off our shoulders. On top of all that, Sherryl went above and beyond to make our day extra special by surprising us with a limo ride to the resort. It was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture that added a touch of luxury to an already perfect experience. Thanks to Sherryl, planning our destination wedding felt easy and enjoyable, and we can’t recommend hers and Destination Weddings services enough.

Fantastic experience: DestinationWeddings was INCREDIBLE! Danielle Johnson helped us plan the PERFECT wedding. She helped us with every single detail. I have never been to a destination wedding before and have little experience with all inclusive resorts, but she helped us pick the perfect resort for our wedding needs and brought my dream wedding vision to life. She was so patient and professional with all of my 800+ questions and helped with booking all 105 of our guests and was very accommodating. She even helped get all of my guests to and from the airport to the resort.

Fantastic experience: We just got back from our wedding at Dreams Macao beach Punta Cana and could not be happier! We worked with Nancy Litwiller throughout the entire process and she couldn't have made the process easier. We had a guest list of 37 people whom all organized their vacations through Nancy. It was seamless and easy to work with Nancy, I had so many questions and emailed Nancy so many times and each time was met with the answers quickly and with great detail. Nancy didn't just stop at the vacation planning, she also assist in planning a Catamaran excursion for our entire guest list and was my go to person for any and all questions regarding this experience. We couldn't have asked for an easier process or an easier person to work with then Nancy. I would suggest destination weddings to anyone and specifically to work with Nancy! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: The planning of a wedding can be stressful already, and adding a destination that is in a different country can be even more stressful. Luckily we were able to find destination wedding travel group whom helped plan the perfect wedding for us. Initially Nancy Yeomans was our first coordinator and she was exceptional. She provided such insight into what locations we would like, and helped us narrow down the resort that best met our likes and needs. Nancy definitely went above and beyond in helping us take all the guesswork as to where to start. Her diligence and expertise emulated what we wanted for our wedding and helped us choose the perfect location. Once Nancy chose a spectacular location, it was now time to move on to another coordinator to help plan the rest. Unfortunately our second coordinator Brianne Black did not meet our needs and was not responsive when we needed her and did not communicate with us her leave of absence. This small hiccup worried us as our wedding was soon approaching and we felt as we were left in the dark. Luckily Colleen Shepherd stepped in and provided us exceptional service and saw our wedding all the way through. Colleen was able to pick up where Brianne left off and immediately set up a text group and email to keep in direct contact. This provided us a big sigh of relief as Colleen quickly began to work and contacted all our guests, ensuring they had all their questions answered. She worked diligently in making sure our rooms were set, prices were according to what we had agreed upon months earlier. She provided feedback to our guests regarding airport shuttle transportations, especially with so many travelers having to deal with changed flights and arrival times. Colleen was an amazing coordinator and I greatly appreciate all of her hard work. Ourselves and our guests were seen from beginning to end of our trip, ensuring that everyone had rooms ready and shuttles arranged for transportation. Having her take over the rest of the planning was such a blessing. My husband and I are truly lucky to have worked with Nancy Yeomans and Colleen Shepherd as our coordinators to make the wedding of our dreams a reality.

Fantastic experience: Andrea C. is INCREDIBLE. While the website itself originally appeared a little dated, it was user friendly. They organized all things travel support, and Andrea was one of the most responsive people I have ever worked with! She cares, is flexible, answers a million questions, and is overall wonderful. I can't recommend her enough! If you're pondering a destination wedding - we did it, and we LOVED IT. No regrets, best decision so far.

Will definitely be contacting her for future trips. :) The resort we chose was dreams in Cancun, it was absolutely beautiful, but wedding coordinator took over 2 weeks to respond for simple answers and then another week. All within 2 months till wedding day. The staff was awesome, but trying to arrange the wedding was annoying since things weren’t cleared up before due to lack of their response and price changes without notifying me.

Positive experience: The location of resort row there, where Riu Jalisco is located is too far away from other amenities, making it difficult to enjoy other activities such as shopping, or a luncheon get away, although the quality of the food at the resort was quite good, a little change or choice would have made the experience all the better.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Melinda Shelley with Destination Weddings for our dream wedding at Hard Rock Resort in Punta Cana on October 25, 2024. Melinda was a gem, she was so patient, professional, and fun to work with. She made working with all 106 guest seem easy. She was always available to answer questions, even after hours. Melinda was very knowledgeable of the Hard Rock property, and must I say she did sell us short on the property. There was so much to do with or without children at the resort. We had few mishaps with the hotel and the salon on the property, but could not have asked for a better specialist or company to help with our special day. Thank you Melinda and Destination wedding!

Fantastic experience: Amazing vendor to work with! Our travel agent Kimberlee Key made picking a location and booking rooms VERY easy. She was always available to ask questions and helped us with communication between us and the resort if we needed a response sooner rather than later. Wedding planning is supposed to be super stressful but having Kimberlee on our side made things so much easier. The resort we picked was ABSOLUTELY beautiful and our guests agreed with us. Kimberlee made herself available to all of our guests and helped walk them through the travel process too.

Fantastic experience: Destination Weddings and Susie Dod in particular, were amazing in helping us plan our destination wedding in Cancun. We got married last week after months of planning and everything turned out great. We wouldn’t even know where to begin to plan a destination wedding if we hadn’t been in contact with Destination Weddings a couple Of years of ago through attending a wedding in the Dominican Republic (who also used DestinationWeddings.com and Susie Dod). We were very happy we chose to use them as well. They provide a ton of insight and options on what to look for in the resort you choose. Including reviews, pricing, guest packages, wedding packages, etc. Trust me, there is a lot of work that goes into planning a destination wedding in Cancun when you live in Indiana but we did it and DestinationWeddings.com made it so much easier and smoother. Fantastic experience: Tiffany Dana was my wedding planner and let me just say she was top notch! She was always on point, she responded right away if I had any concerns, she communicated with my resort and got back to me asap. There was a problem with our transportation (not her fault) and she worked hard to make sure we got what we needed. I couldn't have asked for a better planner. Loved her!! She truly was amazing!!

Fantastic experience: Trying to find a resort that fit our exact needs was super difficult but Melissa made everything super easy! I asked what felt like a million questions and she was always quick to respond and if she didn't have the answer, would go out of her way to find it. I was hesitant at first to work with Destination Weddings since it is free, but Melissa exceeded my expectations.

Negative experience: This resort was not a relaxing experience for me. The first room was very outdated and had plenty mechanical issues. The air caused condensation to run down the walls and left puddles of water on the floor. Housekeeping did not come appear until the last two days to service the room. I had to request towels numerous of times. It wasn’t many excursions or food options made available. I really did not enjoy my stay at Azul.

Fantastic experience: So far, the rep for my BFFs wedding in Jamaica has been absolutely wonderful to deal with. She is prompt in responding to the many questions I've had for her. Completely professional. I cannot speak to booking the wedding, but only to my accompanying travel. From what I gather from the Bride, it has been smooth sailing thus far.

Amy is beyond amazing! She was so helpful, and we couldn’t have planned our wedding without her. She helped us plan our wedding on an expedited timeline and was always great at communicating and keeping us up to date on all the details. She was available for every question we had throughout the entire process (and we had a lot!), from providing us with detailed reviews of each resort, to helping us negotiate the best wedding package and rates for our guests, etc. Our guests raved about her and how truly wonderful she was! She ensured each guest was taken care of and helped us navigate quite a few hurdles we encountered with ease. I would 110% recommend Amy and Destination Weddings!!! They’re truly the best and helped us have our perfect dream wedding!

Fantastic experience: We used DestinationWeddings to plan our wedding in Montego Bay Jamaica at Secrets Wild Orchid. Lynda Edwards was our specialist and she was amazing! She was very responsive to all of our questions and was very great at communicating with the resort and us. She made sure that all of our details were presented to the resort and advocated for all of our wants as well. She made planning a destination wedding a total breeze. Fantastic experience: When we started planning our wedding last year, we knew we wanted a destination wedding and had a few countries in mind. Other than that, I had no idea where to start. After some searching, I submitted an inquiry on Destination Weddings website, and got linked up with Colleen Shepherd. Her patience with me and her guidance were JUST what I needed! We ended up going to a fabulous resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic at Colleen's suggestion, and she was spot on. My mother-in-law ended up in the hospital while we were there, and I reached out to Colleen via WhatsApp late that night, not expecting to hear back until the next morning. Colleen immediately responded, gave advice and even spoke with the travel insurance company to help get a claim started. She then went WAY above and beyond and got back on the phone with me to make sure that I was ok. I cannot express how much that was appreciated and needed at that time! Positive experience: There is some room for improvement. I did have to switch specialist because my original wasn't that good. Karen was really good and helpful. I do wish there was more they could help with on terms of planning. They only helped with room booking.

Fantastic experience: Weddings Destinations did an amazing job with helping me with my wedding/honeymoon. Kellie our travel specialist was amazing with contacting me and getting me situated with the resort I picked to stay at. There was issues with my flight and she was quick to respond and help me with my transportation. I highly recommend booking with them!

Positive experience: The resort, staff, and food were amazing. But be ware of the scammers once you leave the resort. We had to catch a taxi back to the airport to claim our luggage that was a late check in. Going to the airport from the resort wasn’t a problem but trying to get back to the resort was a disgrace. The hotel stated $60 going and $60 returning. So, two men apparently watched us the entire time then approached for service. He said $160 to get you back to the resort. I said the hotel said this trip would only be $60. He pulls out this card with pricing in pesos. I then pulled out my phone to convert to U.S. dollars. He then said I’ll do it for $80, I agreed at this point I just want to get back to the resort safely. He charges my card and the charge came across my cell phone from my back for $91.35. I said you charged me too much. He then goes on about their fees and others things. Okay, fine I’m ready to go at this point. So, we’re standing for an 1hr no taxi. Everyone is leaving the airport but us. We asked when will our taxi arrive? He then says, if you want to leave right not give me $30 more dollars. I said I don’t have anymore money to give you. We walked back into the airport to the Southwest Airlines business office to report this and asked them to please call us a taxi because we didn’t feel safe. The manager got an employee to escort us down to get a taxi. Moreover, the resort was amazing. The food was omg good. All the amenities were amazing too. The resort staff was friendly, professional, and most of all funny. They really had a sense of humor. I would definitely go back but would no catch a taxi from the airport. In addition, we had professional transportation set up through our travel agency for pickup and drop off but we had to make an additional trip to the airport that our agent couldn’t assist with.

Fantastic experience: There aren't enough words to truly describe how grateful I am. Destination Weddings was definitely the right choice to plan my Destination wedding. Stephanie Parks from the very beginning was communicative, knowledgeable, supportive and professional. She was so wonderful in being a buffer for my husband and I during the year long process. She assisted my family and friends through every adjustment. We had our wedding at Royalton Splash Riviera, it was absolutely stunning. Stephanie also was integral in keeping an open line of communication between us and the wedding planners. She made planning a wedding so smooth. I would recommend Destination Weddings to everyone.

Negative experience: We recently were invited to go to a destination wedding that was booked by the bride and groom with Destination Wedding Travel Group. Our assigned travel agent coordinating things on the guests behalf was Debbie. Prior to the trip we were given miss information regarding when payment was due for the hotel and how much. We were told 50% was due on a date, we paid it on the date owed and then the next day she told us 100% was due otherwise our room would get canceled. So of course, we paid the 100% but it threw off our budgeting which was of course annoying. Fast forward to getting to the destination, our coordinator had the resort incorrect on our booking so we got dropped off at a hotel that was not for us (unknowingly because all our travel info had generations as our resort.) Thankfully, the hotel transported us for free to the hotel (El Dorado Royal) which was about 1 mile away where we were supposed to be staying at. In a foreign country you can see how this is a big mistake and inconvenience for a entire wedding guest list. Again fast forward to leaving, the coordinator had our resort still wrong and our shuttle was trying to pick us up at Generations and not at El Dorado where we were staying. Again huge problem for an entire wedding guest list especially when traveling internationally. All this could have been avoided had the travel agent working with Destination Weddings booked the wedding party's stuff correctly. The bride and groom also had a negative experience but I will leave that to them to address with this company. I left a review directly with Destination Weddings, their response. A $100 gift card. LOL What a joke of a company and their customer service team. Absolutely, would not recommend people looking to book a wedding with these people. DO NOT PUT YOUR GUESTS THROUGH THAT when they are spending all that money to attend YOUR wedding. Just don't. ***Doesn't matter if the wedding was at Generations, my hotel booking should have had El Dorado Royal on my paperwork since that is in fact what I paid for, NOT for the wedding. Therefore, their claim below on their reply back to me is non sense. Its funny how they replied on this google review within a day but respond in about 4-5 business days when you do actual business with them.

Fantastic experience: TJ Dana is a blessing!! TJ Dana has been nothing but absolutely wonderful throughout my process of booking this wedding. My wedding is booked for June 7th of this year at dreams La Mareas, the booking has been in place for at least 18 months if not longer. My original wedding planner at the resort was Caroly, She was very rude, spoke over me, Never responded. Tj immediately stepped in to address this issue, even Caroly was abruptive, interrupting Tj and trying to speak over her. Tj professionally stepped in and informed her that she was being rude and condescending and we would need to escalate this matter as she was not LISTENING to me and my concerns for my wedding day. Tj took the initiative to request a new planner at the Resort, which did not get approved request. Even with the resort denying the request Tj spoke to the Manger on a group conference call to ensure that the quality service in the future will be improved. Even after this assurance from the manager things did not change. Caroly even had her team believe she kept all meetings with me but Tj was quick to defend the truth for me and resolve this misunderstanding and successfully got me a new planner at the resort to work with. She attended the conference call to ensure the quality of service was to my satisfaction eith the new planner and that no one would try to bully me again. I cannot express how grateful I am to have her on my side through this planning process. Even when I visited the resort she called me daily to ensure that everything was to my satisfaction. She has worked with so many of our guest to assist them in their booking of rooms and transportation needs from the airpot to resort and back. Tj is absolutely a blessing to me.

Fantastic experience: We had our wedding at Dreams Playa Mujeres on 04-18-24. It was a small wedding, only 9 of us all together. I had Monica as my wedding planner and it was amazing. We had a small ceremony outside at Azure Veranda and it was perfect. We had no plans for after the wedding because there were only 9 of us so we figured we would just go to dinner. We discussed this with a staff member, Alejandro Leon, down by the beach bar. He then found out we were having no reception so he called his friends Chef Hendricks and Jonathan and they came and met us and made us a special meal. The Mezas restaurant was closed down so they set us up a special table, and a special dinner that was absolutely delicious. It totally made our wedding day so much more special and I am so thankful for Alejandro and Chef Hendricks and Jonathan. They made our stay absolutely amazing. My husband is also in a wheelchair and we found this resort to be very wheelchair friendly.
