Fantastic experience: We started doing Cruises once things picked up after the pandemic and I've booked all of my Cruies with American Discount Cruises & Travel. I've been able to use the same travel advisor (shoutout to Claire) the entire time which has been super easy for me. They always have the best extras and are so quick to respond whenever I have questions about something I'm considering booking or questions on a trip I've already booked. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: I've booked with them three times so far. I did have an initial issue with my most recent booking. However, Jessica B. in management worked diligently to satisfactorily resolve the issue. Everybody that I've spoken with their over the years has always been quite pleasant, which is appreciated.
Negative experience: They advertise worry free booking and cancel for free but read the fine print it's not for the cruise carrier just for their 100.00 fee! Then you call customer service they said they couldn't find the form to cancel. They didn't tell me I would incur a 100% penalty so I'm out 3600.00. Book priceline.com or direct. Do not book here!

Please allow us to clarify that our agency does currently offer a "Worry Free, No Fee" program to all customers, which allows them to cancel any reservation made with us and not incur an agency cancellation fee. Cancellation penalties that are imposed by vendors are not included in our "Worry Free, No Fee" program. This information is specified in our Terms and Conditions, and can be found on our website under any booking bonus offer as well as on the confirmation email received once a reservation is booked with our agency. Please note that the penalty you had incurred was directly from the vendor. Our agency cannot offer you credit for funds held by a vendor. To clarify, any funds paid to a reservation are made directly to the vendor and not with our agency. You would have incurred such fees regardless of who you booked with, whether it was through the vendor directory, our company, or any other company. We sympathize with your situation; however, at the time of your request for cancellation, your reservation did include a travel insurance policy which would have allowed you to file a claim for the penalties being held on your reservation. As mentioned in prior communications with you and our agency, we confirmed that you decided to cancel your travel insurance policy directly with the insurance vendor (Travel Guard) the same day that you requested the cancellation of your reservation with our agency. This action is not one that is ever recommended because an insurance policy allows you to file a claim for any penalties held by the vendor directly. In this instance, you cancelled your insurance policy without our knowledge, so we were unable to even advise you of the penalties beforehand, in case you did want to file a claim. Our agency cancelled your reservation within 24 hours of receiving your Letter of Cancellation, and did advise you of the penalties that were held on the reservation along with instructions on how to file the claim with insurance. Unfortunately, at that time, you had already cancelled your insurance policy. Our agency cannot accept liability for you cancelling your insurance policy nor the penalties that were held by the vendor themselves. We wish you the best in your future travel arrangements, and thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns again.
Negative experience: Save your trouble and book direct or go through other agencies. If you ever have any request or changes, they take forever to respond, because their standard processing time is quoted "7-10 days". Their online payment link doesn’t work, and called in to make payment takes several days to process. This is ridiculous, and using them essentially blocked me from dealing with the cruise line directly. This is the first time I regretted going through travel agency instead of book direct. Do not recommend

We want to complete service requests as soon as possible, and when a request is urgent we complete it immediately. However, for non-urgent requests such as the one you had (fixing an incorrect name that you provided while making your reservation) we are currently advising the 7-10 day window to ensure we don't promise a faster timeline that isn't met, as with our very high volume of business we do have to address requests in order of urgency. Any customer request that is advised of the 7-10 day processing time is reviewed to ensure that the reservation will not be negatively impacted due to the processing time. We are also mindful about sail date and vendor deadlines when submitting service requests, and if either of those circumstances require the request to be handled sooner than 7-10 business days we do have systems in place to ensure it is done before then. Regarding booking directly with a vendor, please keep in mind that a significant benefit of booking through our company is that we offer bonus offers that the vendor does not. For example, your reservation is being given $525 cash back. Many customers would prefer such significant savings, and we certainly complete customer service requests in time, which we feel is evident based on our overall customer reviews being so highly rated. We have found that our processing times are in line with other travel agency processing times. However, if you have a future request that you feel is not being handled in a timely enough manner, please do not hesitate to contact our Support Team directly at [email protected]. Negative experience: Customer service is poor. Once you booked a trip good luck to have your questions answered, they don't reply to emails. Also, no online payment capability so you'd have to wait a long time on the phone for a basic task.

Fantastic experience: I have booked several cruises through American Discount Cruises and been nothing but pleased with their service. I always get a great price with additional perks not available elsewhere. Their staff are very helpful and address my requests in a timely manner.
Negative experience: Sadly, I haven't had a great experience with this company. We ended up switching out a guest and I could not get a straight answer as to how much it would cost ($99) from either this company or Carnival Cruises. The other option was to combine our rooms into a bigger one but they were so unhelpful about the costs, that I went for what I thought would be the cheapest option. We paid the money but the person who isn't going is still showing up in the stateroom and we can't even book excursions online. It just seems like there is disorganization and non-transparency - maybe they don't work well with the cruise line. Who knows? What it ends up being is disappointing for me as a consumer. I didn't get any better deal through this travel agency than I would have going directly through Carnival. Why did I do it then? I haven't stopped asking myself that.
Hello, We are sorry that you are not satisfied with the service you've experienced from our agency. We certainly want our customers to have a great experience working with us, as we do strive to provide excellent customer service. Reviewing our notes, we show that on June 26, 2024, you contacted us to inquire about your options, as one passenger would not be traveling with you anymore. The options that were provided to you, per cruise line rules, were adding one of the passengers from the booking where the guest couldn’t go anymore to your reservation, or just changing one of the passengers on the second booking. An email was sent to you later the same day to explain how the pricing on your booking would be affected if we added a third passenger to your reservation. After providing this information, we do not see that any correspondence occurred between our agency and yourself until July 19, 2024, when you called us to inquire about the deadline for swapping a passenger. After this, we received your Passenger Removal form on July 22, 2024, authorizing us to change the second passenger on your reservation. We then contacted you on July 23, 2024, after speaking with Carnival and advised that in order to complete the passenger removal, an additional $99 would be needed to be paid as Carnival's system required us to completely cancel one passenger from the reservation and book a new passenger. We received your authorization on July 24, 2024, outside of our business hours and when we reopened on July 25, 2024, we responded to let you know we would process the request for you. Our team then contacted Carnival to confirm that $99 did have to be paid and successfully made the payment with the credit card provided. We have confirmation that the new passenger has been on this reservation since this date and show that she is on the booking when viewing your reservation in Carnival's system. We were unaware of any issues regarding the passenger swap until your review was posted here, as you have not reached back out to our agency for assistance. If you are still showing that the passenger swap was not completed, please let us know and we will investigate with Carnival as all records we have show that the change was completed correctly. Please keep in mind that pricing, promotions and policies are provided to agencies directly from the cruise lines, including penalties that are incurred on bookings. While you did not get a discount on the reservation from our agency, we are providing a gift to both reservations (of onboard credit). This is the additional perk that you received for booking with our agency. If you had booked directly with Carnival, you would not have received this credit.

Fantastic experience: While there are many travel companies out there, I found out that they don't all return phone call nor do they work for your best interests. I've booked two different trips with American Discount Cruises, with two different agents, and both were diligent in returning my calls and even better, were able to get a refund for my group when the fares went down. That is not happening with the current travel agent and I have learned my lesson. Future trips will be made with American Discount Cruises.

Positive experience: American Discount Cruises WAS/HAD the best search engine of all cruise booking sites, hands down...but no longer true. They have joined the ranks of other booking sites and now NONE of them are easy to use. Why this happened is a puzzle. ADC had the very best advanced cruise booking search engine where you could pick and choose all of the elements passengers would need to find the best cruise...and you could do all of that one element at a time without losing any other elements in the search. Now they have fallen prey to the world of internet searching...long, tedious and difficult. Too bad.

We did relocate it on the initial search form, and we apologize if that resulted in you thinking it was no longer there. We agree with you though, it's very helpful. We even added more search filters to it in this new version, where you can even specify a port of call that you want to make sure is included in the search. You can access that new filter via the "Show Advanced Search" button towards the bottom left of the advanced form.

Fantastic experience: This was a fantastic "Ocean to Ocean" Princess Panama canal Cruise We just wanted to thank your agency for a wonderful Panama Canal Cruise. This especially for your gifted specialty dining dinner and very large on board credits! The only issue was with such a long 15 day cruise there were to many sea days, especially since they canceled Nicaragua and didn't substitute another port. But, that's a Princess issue. American Discount Cruises always provides timely customer service responses. Unfortunately , I tested positive for Covid on arriving home. Far too many unmasked people cramming on elevators, etc with no precautions on a full ship.

Negative experience: Misleading Marketing, Don't Book Through Travel Agent: I booked a cruise with American Discount during their Black Friday promotion offering $105 in onboard credit. I called the agency to ask a question about Cruise Next certificates, and the travel agent Jacquie offered to book the cruise for me on the spot, offering a slightly cheaper price than what I saw online so I thought wow, how nice of her. Initially I thought all was well until we got on our cruise and were told that we didn't have any onboard credit. I reached out to Jacquie asking if it was a mistake, and she responded saying that the slight discount I recieved replaced the onboard credit offer. In our call I was never told that the $40 discount would come at a loss of the $105 onboard credit offer. Obviously if I were told that, I would decline the discount, however the travel agent purposefully witheld the information and used misleading marketing tactics. The company has not helped or even bothered to respond to me to resolve the issue when I inquired further. Overall I would say this company does not have the customers best interest at heart, and if you want to find a deal cheaper than booking with a cruise directly, look elsewhere.

Upon review, we don’t see any record that when you made the booking with Jacquie, onboard credit was discussed. Although when you were initially looking online, you may have seen onboard credit as one of the offered amenities, when working with an agent, they are providing the quote directly from the cruise line with our agency’s additional offer included. In this case, Jacquie offered a discount on the price (instead of an onboard credit from our company). The result is that you paid less than the price you saw online. Had she been made aware that you were seeing onboard credit, she certainly would have reviewed the reservation to see if she could offer onboard credit instead of a discount, but you did not bring that up. When she provided you with the total quote for the reservation, she did not include onboard credit and it was not questioned. Additionally, our agency’s official invoice never included onboard credit when it was sent to you. Please keep in mind, our agency lists all included amenities on our invoices, so had there been onboard credit included, it would have on the copy you received. We don’t show record that you reached out to us upon receiving the invoice to question the amenities. The only contact we show on record from you is once you boarded the ship, when our reception department reviewed your booking and confirmed there was no onboard credit on the booking. We certainly understand it is disappointing to be expecting onboard credit and then not receive it; however, based on all of the records we have (including recorded calls), our agency did not make an error with your booking and did not offer onboard credit when quoting this reservation. Negative experience: I went there to book a cruise and no one can help me at all. I had to book for 7 families that’s why I thought going to a travel agent was a good idea. They had 100 desks and 2 people working and no one can help!!! I went there because it received great reviews . Weird place don’t bother going there.
Hi Annamarie, We truly apologize that an agent was not available to assist you when you stopped by our office. We recommend scheduling an appointment to those that would like to meet with an agent in person at our office. We have many sales agents that work in our NJ office, but we also have many sales agents located around the country, so there are times when it's much faster to get an agent (without having an appointment) by calling us. Perhaps you just saw a couple of people from the vantage point you had, as our office is quite large and many workstations are not visible to those in our reception area. Negative experience: *** NEW REVIEW *** Call to find out pricing on a cruise. The lady I spoke with couldn't offer the same price as this companies own website. How is the website nearly $100.00 cheaper than what you can offer over the phone. Note to the owner - if you want to leave a follow-up at least do your self a favor and pull the call records. Customer service this time was a little better but not great - agent hung up on me, call back and then couldn't get her pricing to match your site. 3 times I have tried this company and 3 times I have had issues.

We would like to confirm that there is pricing on our web site that is some online-only pricing/deals (marked as such on our web site), which our travel agents cannot always match. There are some deals that can only be booked by making a reservation on our web site, which is why the agent was unable to offer you the same rate that you saw online. Our travel agents do make every effort to match the pricing/offers on our web site when able, but there are some circumstances where they cannot (sometimes the web deal is meant just for those that don’t need the expertise and assistance of a travel agent). Online-only offers are very typical in many industries, including travel. If you would be willing to send the details of the date, approximate time, and phone number you called from directly to our agency at [email protected], our management team would be more than happy to review the call records. We would like to review if there were any issues with the phone system that day. If the phone system is experiencing issues, we will of course report it to our IT Department, to avoid it from occurring again in the future. We do understand that it is frustrating to believe you are being hung up on, and we certainly do not want any of our customers to feel this way.
Fantastic experience: I had called to get more information about booking a cruise. I normally try book our family vacations on my own but, it was becoming more and more time consuming. I really lucked out with Jessica, she was nothing but a pleasure. She was so patient with all my questions and extremely helpful. I didn't feel pressured to book right then and there either. Her calming presence and sweet demeanor made the experience much better. Once my family and I get all the details worked out I will 100% be booking with Jessica in the future!
Negative experience: Worst customer service experience I have had in traveling. Booked a cruise last night with them because the base fare along with the perks they give back made it the best bang for my buck. The booking was done in two separate transactions so that we could get a room for two and a room for three. By morning I had received an email from them saying that their system had a glitch so it was going to be another $500 for the 3 person room or my booking would be canceled. I told them if they were adding $500 more, I would need both bookings canceled because I would have gone with a different vendor that was less than their new total fare. They said they could only refund me 50% of the $8500 for canceling at that point. Highly unethical, and I would steer clear of them!
Hello Wyatt, We’re truly sorry to hear about your disappointment in our agency. However, we would like to take a moment to clarify that the glitch that occurred was not due to our system. The cruise line’s system did not include the pricing for the service fees for the beverage package and dining package you selected for your second reservation when the pricing was fed through to our website, although it did include them correctly for your first reservation. Please also keep in mind that despite the cruise line’s glitch of not automatically including the service fee cost for the second reservation, our web site’s terms and conditions (that were provided before and after you made both reservations) did correctly explain that the service charges needed to be paid by you. Our agency caught the error when we opened in the morning and reviewed your reservation, as we always have a staff member review reservations made on our web site (for quality assurance purposes). We then immediately reached out to explain it to you so that you could choose whether to pay for the service fees or remove the packages from your reservation. When you requested to cancel your bookings, we explained that they were in penalty (which was also explained during the booking process, in the terms and conditions you accepted when making the reservations) but as you had just booked them, we would reach out to the cruise line to find out if they would be willing to waive the penalties. As the funds were all paid to the cruise line directly, our agency does not have any of the funds paid. It is therefore entirely at the cruise line’s discretion if they would be willing to waive penalties and issue a refund for a cancellation of a booking already in penalty. When we spoke with the cruise line, they advised us that they would be willing to waive the penalties if the bookings were cancelled within 24 hours of being booked. As they were booked at 2:53AM on October 12, 2023, they would need to be cancelled prior to 2:53AM on October 13, 2023 in order for the cruise line to waive the penalties. We advised this to you both when we spoke with you on the phone and via email. We also advised that as our agency closed at 8PM EST, we would need you to authorize the cancellation prior to then in order to have the bookings cancelled with the fees waived. Our agency did not hear from you until the following day, at which time we did ask the cruise line if they would still be willing to waive the penalties to cancel, even though it was outside of the 24-hour timeframe. The cruise line refused to waive the penalties, as it was outside the 24-hour window. As that was their final decision, our agency does not have the ability to override or change it. However, we did offer to convert your gift of onboard credit (that our agency was providing you as a booking bonus) to instead be a price discount, in order to lessen the amount that needed to be charged to your card for the service fees to try to help lower the amount being paid upfront. You did choose to get the discount instead of the onboard credit. We understand that you would like additional compensation; however, as our agency made every effort to assist you (including getting approval to cancel both bookings for a full refund if authorized by you within 24 hours), there is nothing further we can offer. There was no service failure made on our end, but we are certainly here to continue to provide you with service going forward on your reservations, and hope that you enjoy the significantly discounted price that you wouldn’t have received had you booked with the vendor directly.

Not only did we save $600 per person if we would of booked through RC, we were also credited $125 of on board credit and a $130 complementary dinner at Chops on the ship for our Anniversary. We 100% recommend using ADC & Travel. We'll definitely book through them again!!
Fantastic experience: Update 12/15/2023- I gave them another chance and transferred a Royal Caribbean reservation to them in order to receive onboard credit. Their support team worked very closely with me to try and get these special gift certificates applied with the cruise line. They were very responsive. It seems that Disney cruises are just a little more difficult than most when using a 3rd party agency so that’s the only one I wouldn’t do through ADC. _______Original Review Below.. I’ve been using American Discount Cruises for close to a decade now. If you only need the cheapest option possible and you are 100% sure you won’t need any help after the sale, this is your site. If you will need support from them at all- book with a different travel agency. I’ve been trying for 2 weeks now to get them to add the shuttle port transportation to my Disney cruise reservation. I tried to do it myself but Disney will not let me because ADC is the travel agency. I have emailed multiple times and even called in. There is no way to directly speak to the support department. My emails are “forwarded to them” and when I called I was told it would be forwarded to the support team. The most recent email said that they are experience a high volume of support requests and are delayed. They earned a commission but have provided no service to me. I only saved a few hundred dollars booking Disney through them but I’ve spent more than that in time chasing what should be a simple request. In summary- think long and hard before you book with them. Make sure you are ok waiting weeks for help and the possibility that it may never come!

Fantastic experience: When my cruise company lowered the price of a cruise I had already booked a significant amount, my travel agent, Dalia Winick, aggressively approached the company to lower my fare, which they finally did.
Negative experience: Booked a cruise for June 2024 last Monday. I ensured it was a fully refundable deposit and they heavily promoted their “worry-free refund” policy where their $100 “agency cancellation fee” would be waived if plans changed. As luck would have it, the day after booking I learned the cruise date didn’t work for one of our party so I needed to cancel. Not only is there no way to do so online, they emailed me a form stating I needed to print/sign then email or fax (srsly, fax in 2023??) it to them. I was traveling for work so no access to such things but I managed to get it done that day. Two days later, no cancel confirmation was received so I emailed them and they replied with this BS: “We have received your Letter of Cancellation. Our Customer Service Department will cancel your reservation as soon as possible. Please rest assured that we are ensuring we process cancellations within the necessary timeframe to avoid incurring any penalties or to receive any vendor offered exceptions to their standard cancel policy. Please note once the reservation is cancelled any refunds that might be issued can take up to 90 business days to be credited to your original form of payment due to extended vendor processing times.” I don’t know what scam this place is running but that was days ago and still no cancellation has been processed, obvi there’s some sort of incentive for them to sit on cancel requests but I’m not having it. And who has EVER heard of a ‘90 business day’ processing time for the refund to appear once cancellation is processed - 18 weeks isn’t just egregious, it’s fraud. Next stop: RCCL (who was merchant of record), NJ Attorney General, and American Express to dispute the charge.
Hello. We're sorry that you're dissatisfied with the way our agency has handled your cancellation request. We've reviewed your request and would like to take a moment to address your concerns. We see you made your cruise reservation early this past Monday, which (as you mentioned) was under a refundable deposit promotion (which is valid as long as any cancellation is done before the final payment due date, which is the case for you). We then see that we received your request to cancel your booking later that day, after our office was closed for the day. Our customer service team did reply to your request on Tuesday morning, to explain our company’s cancellation process. Part of that process is for our clients to fill out our Letter of Cancellation form. The cancellation process mentioned in the email you received is also explained within the terms and conditions that were provided to you, during the booking process on our website. The reason for this form is to ensure that any clients that wish to cancel are aware of aspects related to penalties or insurance, and to also allow the card holder on the reservation to provide their written authorization to cancel. Over the years, we’ve had many customers express dissatisfaction regarding the potential of someone else being able to simply call us or go online and cancel a reservation without us verifying that the card holder truly is giving their authorization. We understand that at times it may not be possible for our clients to fill out the physical form. If those instances are brought to our agency’s attention, we do our best to work with our clients to provide alternate ways for cancellation authorization to be provided. Our records don't indicate that we were aware you were currently traveling and may not have had a way to send the physical form back. If we were made aware of that circumstance, we would have worked with you to confirm cancellation authorization in a different method. We appreciate that despite the fact that you were traveling, that you were able to send back the physical form to our agency. Our records indicate that we did respond to confirm that we received your letter of cancellation within 24 hours, on Wednesday 4/26. The email you received to confirm that we received the cancellation, was advising you the standard cancellation process that our agency takes when working through cancellations. Part of this process does include advising the maximum potential refund processing time that a cruise line can take to issue a refund. Please keep in mind that we aren’t saying that our company takes that long – we’re saying that the cruise line can potentially take that long, but we’re also not saying that they will take that long. When you make a reservation on our web site, our company doesn't receive the funds – the credit card is charged directly by the vendor, so the refund has to come from the vendor (in this case, the cruise line). We apologize if this was not clear enough. Typically we process all cancellation requests within 24 to 48 hours of when they are received, and we always make sure to process cancellations prior to the customer’s reservation becoming in penalty with the cruise line (or further penalty, if the reservation is already in penalty). The email you received from us was simply meant to give you a general guideline of what to expect with the cancellation process. Our agency does make sure to keep the specifics of our client’s reservations in mind when working on the cancellation itself. For your booking, our records indicate that we did cancel your reservation the same day, and that we have emailed you earlier today to verify that the reservation was in fact cancelled, along with the specific refund processing time you can expect for your reservation. If you haven't received that email with your cancellation and refund specifics, please don't hesitate to contact our customer service team for assistance.

Regardless of what deals are being offered by the various cruise companies, American Discount Cruises will honour all of those incentives plus some of their own. We really do enjoy booking from their site.
Positive experience: I dealt with ADT for ten years with no problems. My significant other has a stroke and we had to cancel our cruise. It took me over two months to get a detailed listing of the fees and cancellation amounts to file an insurance claim from ADT.

Fantastic experience: We have booked over 23 cruises in the past 12 years with American Discount Cruises. We worked with Kathy M. (now retired) for several years and lately with Dalia Winick. With both agents we have received excellent service and if issues did come up, they were promptly resolved. Their ADC Advantage Pricing, if available, is much better than can be found anywhere. Since Covid, wait times on the phone are longer than in the past, but that seems to be normal everywhere. We spend a lot of time researching cruises, cruise lines, and ports before booking, so we usually know which ship and itinerary we want as well as our preferred cabin choice. We highly recommend American Discount Cruises and the professional people they have working for them.
