Negative experience: Waited 4 hours to get my car towed to mechanic, by that time the shop was already closed. Keep in mind, they kept calling me every hour ensuring someone will be on the way soon.

Negative experience: Can I do negative 5 stars I RARELY TAKE THE TIME TO WRITE A BAD REVEW I have been paying for this "Plus" membership for 4 years. I had my first emergency in December. I was sliding down a steep snowy road in 13 degree windy weather. When I called I went to an automated recording telling me "the best way to reach us is go to the website" and your freaking kidding me? This was the roadside assistance number...disgusting! finally I got through to someone and they said someone wouldn't be there for over an hour!!! I couldn't be in my car in freezing weather for fear of sliding down the road backwards. My fingers got frost bitten and my dogs were in rough shape in that cold. I had to call 911 and get towed for $400. HORRIBLE! I want a refund for the last 4 years and reimbursement for the tow truck. I tried to write to AAA about this experience on the website and I get just an error message and it won't send. When I call I get patched through to a "supervisor's" voicemail. Off to the better business bureau I go! SHAMEFUL!
Fantastic experience: AAA sent Roger from Davis Roadside Services to me in literally 15 minutes when I got a flat tire on the highway. He was fast, efficient, and friendly. I didn’t have cash to tip him so I had to give the 5 star review. Thank you Roger, you’re a king.

Fantastic experience: We have a number of cars that required several schedule changes on our part. AAA was fantastic at adjusting to our changing needs. Negative experience: They refused to come to service my vehicle. What the hell am I even paying for? Useless and rude.
Negative experience: Every time I call, they're confused about whaich club I'm in. Every. Single. Time. First, yes. You are my club. I live in a rural area. Get over it. Second, why does it matter? You can't even read a page on the website without being redirected to AGAIN enter your address. Working with an outdated business modelm You're a NATIONAL organization. Act like it.

Negative experience: Called at 5:41 am and was told an ETA of 6:50. Called at 6:50 and was told an ETA of 7:13. Called at 7:11 and was told that a driver was never dispatched and that they’ll be here at 8am. I believe them this time because I finally got a text but this is crazy
Negative experience: They said they'd get my car I'm 40 minutes. As is so often the case, the person I got on the phone was unapologetic. Over 3 hours later, a very nice and professional guy finally arrived. He gets 5 stars, AAA gets zero
Fantastic experience: I had a flat right near AAA parking lot. I pulled into the lot and they came out and fixed my flat on the spot. They treated me like a princess.

Negative experience: On July 1, 2024, I called AAA for a tow at about 2:40 pm. It was one of those hot humid days and I was stuck on the roadside, no shade, with my five-year-old grandson. In the initial call, I was told that I'd receive a call back giving me an approximate time of arrival. It wasn't until 3:18 pm that I received that call telling me it would be one hour. At 4:18 another call came in telling me it would be another eight minutes. at about 5 pm, when the truck still had not arrived, I again called and was told by the agent they had NO ESTIMATE of when I could expect help, and that he had no idea which other agent would have given me the other previous estimates. He made no apology to me for the mix-ups or the extended wait time and, in fact, was rather curt and uncaring. When I expressed my annoyance with the service, he threatened to cancel my service altogether. I believe he relented only because I told him if my grandson became ill from the heat, I would sue him personally, as well as the entire Hudson Valley AAA office. It was still not until 6:30 pm that the service truck showed up.
Fantastic experience: MD Khan is an asset to AAA. I hit a pothole and got two flat tires tonight (call 159). MD Khan came and put the spare on the front tire so my car could be towed. He was friendly, professional and waited until the tow truck arrived. He definitely understands the meaning of exceptional customer service and is a true professional

Negative experience: I tried to cancel my membership today and was told in order to do so I need to mail back the membership cards. The problem is I never received the membership cards as it was lost in the mail. So I’m stuck paying for a service I don’t want or need. And someone else has my cards and apparently is able to use them. The entire process to cancel is archaic. Funny how signing up is so easy and can be done on line quickly and canceling involves a phone call and sending mail. The woman I spoke to on the phone was rude and just kept telling me to mail back cards I don’t have. Also they charged my credit card 21 days before my membership even expired. Frustrated and annoyed and will be disputing the charge with my credit card company.
Fantastic experience: One word: WOW I have never been so impressed by a branch of AAA before. We moved here in Feb from a "mega-region" that has their own everything, and basically takes over your browser and phone app and doesn't let you join another region. I was frustrated beyond belief as I had figure out what was happening in my browser, but as hard as I tried the app wouldn't switch. I sent an email clearly showing my frustration and I was going to drop AAA forever as I couldn't access local services/travel. Next thing you know, Tara is asking me to come in for help. Personal help- didn't know that existed anymore. The IT person came in, showed me how to fix it, I was given an umbrella, my dog got her own "AAA Card" for a tag- barcode and all. Tara also set up a pet photo session. Everyone was so kind and just the "feel" of the branch is positive and welcoming. Is there a way to give 10 stars? I seriously cannot convey just how amazing this place is- good, old fashioned way of helping members. Wow.

Negative experience: I blew a tire on I-90 this past Mother's day and had to deal with this grossly incompetent group of "dispatchers". Ben was extremely condescending, rude and above all grossly incompetent. It took 5 times for me to explain my location even though I provided him with the exact mile marker, route number and direction all 5 times. The second dispatcher I talked to, Noah, was also extremely incompetent and rude and even hung up on me the second time I spoke with them (while I was stuck on the side of the road). To make matters even worse, they told the tow truck driver that they "dispacted" to give me a hard time (I'm not kidding). This prompted him to make violent advances towards me, my sister and other drivers once he arrived (which I have on dashcam). Because of this, I had to call the NYSP because of his erratic behavior and then ended up paying out of pocket for the tow even though my sister who had a valid AAA membership was with me. Would not reccomend AAA of HV or any AAA, Good Sam is a far better and more competent alternative for those who do lots of driving like myself. Many of family members in the capital region are now switching to Good Sam due to the absolutely unacceptable and frankly malicious experience we had.
Negative experience: I’ve been using AAA for years, but recently moved to Ulster County so switched to the Northeast Branch. When I called to have a battery *replaced* they informed me they no longer offer that service post covid. I mean, besides the occasional jumpstart (which can be solved by battery replacement ) or a rare occasional tow, what is the point of this service? What am I paying the same price for, but receiving less services and benefits? Like every other corporation in America, they raise prices and cut services. AAA used to be a great insurance and service, but now it’s a waste of money. I’ll save that $100/year and save it for the one time in my life I may need to be towed.
Hi Laurel, you are complaining to AAA Hudson Valley (our club is Albany, Rensselaer, Columbia and Greene Counties). We do offer battery service and introduced mobile tire service this year too. I'll share your complaint with AAA Northeast since it doesn't pertain to us.
Fantastic experience: Incredible service -- always fast, caring and efficient. We just had Devon Gaddy, fleet driver, tow our older car to the auto mechanic. He was so thorough and knowledgeable. Negative experience: 01/26/24 MY DAUGHTER NEEDED A TOW AFTER A SMALL FENDER BENDER. SHE WAS REPEATEDLY TOLD HER ACCOUNT HAD BEEN CANCELLED AND SHE DOES NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT. I PAID HER MEMBERSHIP IN AUGUST OF THIS YEAR!!!!! DUE TO THEIR INEPTNESS SHE HAD PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR A TOW JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TOTALLY STINKS!!!! WOULD BE NICE IF SHE WERE PAID BACK FOR THE TOW JOB.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely a 10 out of 10 for all of your insurance needs. The staff at this agency go above and beyond to make sure your policy has you, your family and those prized possessions your insuring covered. They go above and beyond to try and match your accurate needs with a customized policy that is actually what you will need in an emergency as opposed to a one size fits all policy that in an emergency could leave you stranded. I switched my renters policy not that long ago, ended up paying less and obtaining accurate coverage that was better then what I was paying previously. They explained everything in detail to make sure I fully understood what options I had and were happy to answer a million different questions without hesitation. If your looking for Auto, Renters, Home Owners or even Pet insurance... This is the place to go. They actually care and will be transparent with you. Sometimes only focusing on the bottom dollar, you loose sight of the big picture... but absolutely worth having them run the numbers to see if they can save you some money or get you better coverage for the price your already paying!

Negative experience: Do not waste your time with AAA Home and Auto Insurance. My insurance with AAA started off as MetLife, is currently called Farmer's Insurance, but I sign in to a site called "Foremost" when I go online for my policies. So steer clear of all of them. I had a 40% hike in my premium between years. When I called to inquire why, I was told my rates had to go up to subsidize the cost of an increase in other peoples' claims. And also, Inflation. 40%!!!!! I have never filed a claim on my insurance or gotten any sort of traffic ticket in the entire time I have been with them. My Homeowner's limits only increased by 8%. I'm being robbed! There is no support option to email or chat with AAA. The Main Directory is clunky, static-y and migraine-inducing awful. When you do talk to someone, if you get transferred you find yourself right back at the Main Directory where you didn't hear any options that applied to what you were calling about in the first place. I dread it but I will definitely be shopping for insurance elsewhere, I have never had a rate increase as insane as this. I'd actually be better off if I stuck with my prior insurance company, AAA has officially blown them out of the water. 40%!!!!!!!!!
We have two full time agents that work in person at our Albany location that support our policy holders. If/when rates escalate, we get quotes from other insurance companies we represent to try to get our policy holders a better rate. I’d have someone reach out to do this for you though you’ve not supplied a name or phone number.
Fantastic experience: I just used the Mobile Tire Sales and Service for the first time. What a genius idea. They came to my home and mounted and balanced new tires within a few hours. I love the idea of not having to go to the dealer or tire center and either wait for the service or get a ride home. For me, separate summer and winter tires are a necessity. All-season tires are not made for our winters. Also, we visit northern Vermont regularly during the winter and need the best winter tires available. This service makes it convenient to schedule tire rotations, swap summer/winter tires or buy new tires all from the comfort of your recliner! I can't say enough about this service or the awesome technician who performed the service!

Negative experience: Called for a tow yesterday Friday the 13th around 4:30, pickup location was caliber collision. I wait about 40 minutes for the tow truck to even be on its way, then i wait another 20 before i get a call saying they need to confirm with caliber that i have no existing charges or bills, which is understandable. They then call me back after caliber closes and then tell me that they cant have my car towed because they cant reach anyone there. So i try everything i can to explain that i didnt have my car looked at by them and didnt have them do any work, like getting the key back from caliber with a tag on it from them but no the person on the phone wasnt having it, i even asked if i can just drive it off there property and if they can pick it up then, and said no that they need to call back when there open which is on Monday. Thanks for wasting my time and the tow company's because you guys dont call right away to confirm you can pick it up. Now i have to wait 2 days just so i can get my car towed because caliber isn’t open on the weekends.

Negative experience: In March 2022 a dispatcher named Matthew had left me and my car stranded overnight three hours away from my home as I had told him that I was trying to travel back home for work in the morning and needed a tow since my transmission blew. He immediately became hostile and flagged my account for no other dispatcher to help me get out of my situation what so ever and was extremely rude and disrespectful during this stressful time trying to get home. I had discussed with Matthew that I had my car checked at a mechanic and I told him I had a receipt and still refused to bring a tow to me and accursed me of stealing property even though I told him I could provide a receipt (which I still hold to this day). I hope I never have to deal with this branch ever again and I hope Matthew has received proper training to deal with customers in a stressful situation because no other customer should deal with high hostility and arrogance that I had to tolerate.

Negative experience: Called for a tow at 6:30pm. Was told everything was set and they would arrive by 8:15. Received text notifications of the time being pushed back over an hour and a call to inform me of delays. By 9pm I received a text stating my call was dispatched. By 10:30pm I called for an update, gave my info, was put on hold just to get another representative and had to repeat the process. I was told dispatch would contact me in a few minutes. An hour passes, I called again. This time I get a man with no desire to do his job at all. He put me on hold for 5 minutes with every piece of information asked for. He finally tells me dispatch will contact me… when I asked if they’ll actually do so, because I’d like an update, he gave me attitude and hung up on me. Im appalled at the customer service in the eastern NY region. No one I spoke to had any care in the world for what I'm dealing with or cared to actually help me. It’s now midnight and I’m still without a tow, and was just hung up on for a second time. At this rate I don’t believe they’ll ever actually show up. What a horrible company and horrible way to treat customers who pay for a service just to be treated like garbage.

Positive experience: Was flat beaded to a rest area in Kingston. Was told they couldn't drop the car off for 2 days and wasn't allowed in the truck with them. I was still 50 miles. Away had to call for a ride.
Hi Mark, you're a member of AAA Northway if you want to convey your thoughts with them. If you were on the Thuway, I-87 please note that New York State contracts out for towing on the Thuway and we aren't allowed to service anyone on it. Members who show their cards are serviced by the contractor selected by NYS.

Fantastic experience: I found myself stuck on the side of 787 last night (6/29). Called AAA Hudson Valley and the experience could not have gone more smoothly. After an initial wait on hold, Victor processed my information quickly, prioritized my call due to where I was "parked" and kept me updated as to when the tow truck, which was driven by Tyrone, would arrive. Tyrone was equally professional, securing my vehicle on the flatbed and bringing it to my preferred repair shop. Both Victor and Tyrone did a great job. Thank you.

Negative experience: I’ve tried Charging My vehicle at this location numerous times. The chargers remain off. Also I called and spoke to Tracy she said they are off because the chargers are tripping their breakers. Would not recommend this location at all

Fantastic experience: I always have a great experience at the AAA store. I came in there one time to renew my membership, and it was then that I discovered you could speak to a travel agent on how to book flights, get maps and even directions on a car trip I was planning. So much more than just the road side that they are “known” for.

Fantastic experience: i completed my 5 hour pre licensing course today and i just had to say linda was an absolute doll ! absolute amazing teacher , she was so patient , encouraging , and overall a sweet , kind soul ! she made the course very engaging and made it a fun yet educational experience ! she definitely opened my eyes to being safer on the road , and making better decisions at times . highly recommend taking your 5 hour through this place !

Negative experience: My experience was far from fast or friendly, I called for assistance on November 20th to waited two hours in the cold. When the AAA staff showed up with an empty flatbed I was shocked to hear that he would not tow me because his dispatch order was just to check for lack of gasoline. I explained the AAA employee I spoke to had detailed notes to check all issues then tow if necessary. It was necessary and I was left on the side of the road and told to call in again and request a tow.

Fantastic experience: AAA of Hudson Valley and the entire surrounding area,the best emergency road service that everyone can trust i have been a member for a long time I highly recommend them and their courses for driver safety, it really does save you money when you take the course and the instructors are excellent and very knowledgeable.

Negative experience: My membership ends on August 31, they automatically renewed my membership without my request, so I asked them to cancel it and refund my money taken from my card for the new year, since I am no longer a driver. They told me to deliver the card in my hand, so I delivered the card for 2022. They said they sent the card for 2023 and they can't cancel it without returning it. But unfortunately I don't have the card for 2023. After the membership cancellation appeared in the system, I couldn't understand why this card is so important.

Negative experience: I’ve been sitting in my location stuck for 2 hrs. There was a supervisor name Desiree who was very rude on the phone, was yelling at me telling me they can not come to this location and hung up on me. Talked to several people there and everyone made excuses for her behavior. Currently still waiting for assistance,, I pay for roadside assistance and I get none. The worst place to deal with.
I'm sorry service was delayed, however it is our policy that we need to get permission to provide service on another person's property as it is a liability.

Fantastic experience: Super nice people. I get my international driver license here every year. Just a note, their passport photo background did not come out pure white so I could not use their photo for my EU passport. US passport photos allow off white so it should be fine. Best prices on those photos if you can use them. Again, the employees are awesome! Keep up the good atmosphere!

Fantastic experience: I have had to use AAA Hudson Valley’s roadside assistance twice now, and both times, someone arrived within 15-20 min and my situation was professionally resolved in under an hour. This efficient and courteous service is much appreciated!

Fantastic experience: I discovered that for international travel to certain destinations, you need an international driving permit in order to be able to drive/ rent a car. AAA is one of those organizations that provide the document. I called up the office and a woman banned Sharon was very helpful in answering my questions, and at the office itself, another woman named Chris efficiently and in a very friendly manner helped me get what I need, including a passport photo.

Negative experience: 7/20/21 update. There is no change to the decidedly EV unfriendly position of this club. Chargers for the most part remain off. EV charging is listed as a club benefit but they have turned what should be a positive experience into a negative one. Small minded management. ----------------------------------------- I would like to ask, why won't this location turn on their Tesla destination charger? Public funds were used as tax breaks for triple A, but this location feels no obligation to maintain the hardware so it may be used. I have alerted the staff a number of times, but it has become obvious they have no intention of fixing/turning on the charger

Fantastic experience: Sommer answered my call and she was sweet, informative, and understanding of my situation. My car needed to be towed. It was a very stressful situation and talking to her helped calm me down. Julio met me and very quickly got me out of the spot where I was stuck.
