We had an appointment at 2 pm but showed up early and Kari was more than accommodating in seeing us early. We were finalizing a river cruise trip but wanted help with booking flights and getting some other questions answered. Kari was fantastic in answering our questions and assisting us in booking our flights. Super experience and highly recommend Kari and this AAA office!

Negative experience: Out of town on a weekend with check engine light and several codes relating to transmission. AAA was only nearby mechanic available. After drop-off they neglected to call me with results. I went in the next day and got 9 pages of things "requiring" repair. About 4 lines of this was about the transmission. They told me I needed a new transmission. Drove home 250 miles after engine light reset. Been 2.5 months and 1000 miles. No more codes, just passed inspection. Maybe stick to oil changes here and avoid the upsales.

Negative experience: I was there for a oil change and state inspection. I was given a list of services by your team that I was told i need to get done or my car will PROBABLY not pass inspection. Specifically, i was told i need to get "control Arm W/Ball JT lower both for $853.97 for a lexus that is driven less than 70,000 miles to pass inspection. After reviewing the list and calling the Lexus Dealership on Transmission Fluid that I was told i needed to change at a cost of $219.99; they told me that my car DOESNT EVEN REQUIRE A Transmission fluid change. I didnt get the recommended services and took my car to another vendor for state inspection and it PASSED !! Shame on you AAA for taking advantage of people and making them get services they dont even need. I WILL NEVER RETURN HERE AND WILL TELL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS THE SAME! DISHONEST BUSINESS!

Fantastic experience: I came in to get my international driver's permit. No appointment necessary. The wait time was less than 5 mins. I don't recall who helped me but it was a pleasure to be assisted by her. Bring: Your valid DL (any state) Fill out the form they provide - come with a planned date in mind for when you want the permit to be good for. 2 current 2x2 passport photos $20 I was in and out in 20 mins including the 5 min wait.

Fantastic experience: Quick service and the guy explained what my car needed and why.

Negative experience: Didn’t pay attention to my requests and completely destroyed my wheels during a rear brake change. Spoke down to me in sexist language when I complained.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going here for years because of the excellent customer service. Damon Gethers (facility manager) was professional and knowledgeable. He suggested repair orders and was respectful when I declined them at this time. He then spent additional time sharing his expertise about cars to me, as I am soon (hopefully not too soon) on the market for a new vehicle. AAA also has a second opinion service Damon told me about that we can use when we buy a used car. Thank you very much Damon! The mechanic technician that also worked on my car (sorry I didn’t get your name) was very efficient with the oil change. Thanks AAA!

Positive experience: This is my second time at AAA kildare. I had my oil changed and it was a reasonable price because i had a coupon. I was there on time and greeted by Daron who quickly processed the paperwork and i left my car and walked to nearby shopping to run errands. Upon return, i had to wait as Daron was in the shop. When he came back he explained to me what they did and what they found needed attention. Total, all in was just under a thousand dollars. I asked him to prioritize the list and he did so. Top of the list were the filters—which were in need of changing. I had done the cabin filter myself and asked if the engine filter was just as easy. He said yes. So, with that i paid for my oil change and then i had to wait a bit for them to bring the car around. The 4 starts was because of the waiting? But all in all i was very pleased with the job done. I will continue to take my vehicle there for oil changes—usually there’s always a coupon-and hey! In aworld where everything keeps costing more and more, i appreciate an extra 20 bucks in my pocket. Even more beneficial, was they used Honda specific oil for my vehicle!! That was a win-win for me and my car!! P.S. i changed both filters myself using Honda parts and saved an additional 20 bucks and gained a lot of confidence in the process. All in: it took less than 5 minutes. Ladies—you can do this!!

Negative experience: I will start with the positives: 1. Damon Gethers - store manager has been very nice and understanding about all of my issues. He has gone as far as to pay for every repair since my first visit. 2. The store has always taken my car in the next day or the same day when I call them and get my car back to me within the same day of dropping it off. Those are the only two positives warranting the one star review. Here’s been my experience thus far: I’ve had my Jeep into the AAA on Kildaire in Cary on 5 separate occasions in 5 weeks since 7/12/2023. Upon my first visit, I received a seemingly trigger-happy diagnostic, when only bringing it in needing a brake job. I was upsold on an Engine Cooling System Service ($169.99), “Remove and Replace Thermostat” ($416.97), Tune Up ($660.93), Platinum Fuel Service ($199.99), and Remove and Replace Oil Filter Housing & Or Gasket ($900.98). My initial visit to what I was expecting to be a routine brake job turned into a $3,363.37 bill. To my surprise - driving my Jeep the next day, I was still having issues with my brakes, which clearly shows not only did they get trigger-happy with my diagnostic, they didn’t actually test drive my vehicle to see if they fixed the problem I came in with originally. I called them up after a few days of debating what to do, spoke with Damon, and brought the jeep back 8 days later on 7/20 (thurs) where Damon happily fixed the issues with the brakes and didn’t charge me for it. 4 days later, after a long weekend out of town and not driving the vehicle, I crank up the Jeep on Monday 7/24 with a check engine light on. Brought it in on Tuesday 7/25 and Damon again happily fixed the issue. I received a “Remove Replace Purge Hose” which solved the issue temporarily. Another week later, another check engine light. Again, Damon, slightly more disgruntled, understandably, fixed the issue at no charge to me. I received a “Diagnostic Service - Fuel Vapor Leak Detection Pump”. Damon showed me the part that was broken and assured me that this would solve the problem. I joked with him that “I’d be a paying customer the next time he saw me”, to make light of the situation, assuming this had to be it. I now sit here on 8/8 with another appointment scheduled for Wednesday 8/9 for my 5th visit in 5 weeks with another check engine light. The issue I am having is obviously not with money, because they’ve done the right thing up to this point. The problem I am having is there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. The issues still have not been resolved and I do not feel like it’s fair to me to have to bring it somewhere else (Jeep) and be charged diagnostics and additional costs to fix problems that didn’t otherwise exist. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time that they will no longer take me as a customer and leave me with, what I am assuming will be, a large bill to overhaul the evap/emissions system entirely, since they are not been able to identify/diagnose anything properly, not even my brake job to start with. I hope someone from higher up steps in to help Damon because I’m sure he is sick of dealing with me. I hate writing this review in the first place because I know this is exactly what he’s trying to prevent but I feel like my hands are tied. My preferred solution would be if AAA would take my car for as long as needed to ACTUALLY fix it. It would be appreciated if it would be covered considering the hassle I’ve now gone through, but I really honestly wouldn’t mind covering some of the costs. I just want my car fixed. As the slogan on my receipts say - “ONE TIME, ON TIME, COURTEOUS HONEST REPAIRS”. Backstory - I bought my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee (now 90k miles) as a certified pre-owned in 2017 and have never had any check engine lights or issues outside of routine maintenance. I have also been a AAA customer since I had my first car in highschool, so 10+ years, despite not being a AAA member.

Fantastic experience: I am so pleased with my experience at the Kildaire location! I almost wrote AAA off completely after having my brakes and rotors replaced at the AAA Glenwood location. That store is a joke and the manager Rick is useless! About 3 months after having brand new brakes and rotors on my Jeep, I began to experience a significant amount of squealing and eventually it turned into a grinding noise! After taking my Jeep back to Glenwood to correct the issue (I was obviously still under warranty) the technician simply stated that they "could not replicate the noise!" I was upset and decided to speak with the manager, Rick, about the issue. He tried to assure me that there were no problems found with my vehicle! I specifically asked Rick that if I heard the noises again could I bring my car back to him so that they can warranty replace my parts and he vehemently told me "no!" He tried to convince me that I needed to wait until 25-30K miles to allow my brakes pads to "mesh." After that interaction I was DONE! It didnt make any sense to me to have to wait until the warranty almost EXPIRED (@ 36K miles) to "see if the noise still happens." I no longer trusted Rick (the manager) or their technicians, so I went to AAA Kildaire (which is about 30 minutes away from my home) and surprisingly I was immediately welcomed with pleasant professionalism, and between Damon and Maurice, I felt that I had nothing to worry about! Their knowledge and understanding of vehicles and more importantly, their passion to help their customers blew me away. So I took another chance on AAA and from here on out, I will ONLY go to AAA Kildaire! I highly recommend this store, especially if you value integrity and respect. Just ask for Damon or Maurice and I guarantee you that they will change your perception of automotive customer service!

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best experience I’ve had getting my car serviced. I got a flat, far from home; walked in, and in 30 minutes it was all done. The only thing better than the price, was the superior customer service that Mr. Damon and Mr. Maurice provided. We’re extremely pleased with the whole team!! This was a truly one of a kind service!! Ten stars for them!!! They’ll have my business going forward.

Negative experience: Went for an oil change and inspection which was fine. However they recommended a lot of additional repairs which seemed odd. Two repairs were “urgent” (battery and control arm bushings). We took our car to a different shop and they found no problem with either thing and took the time to explain why. TL;DR if you go here they might recommend maintenance you don’t actually need.

Negative experience: I wish I read the reviews before I took my vehicle to this place because it's definitely where you can be easily ripped off, especiallyif you're a woman. I took my car to this service center because it had an engine problem. After they checked it and did the diagnostics, they told me the engine could not be fixed and I needed to get it replaced, and the price tag for that would be $9500. It was quite a shocking number, to say the least. I took my car to a different auto shop just to find out that one of the cylinders was misfiring and needed a new spark plug. After the spark plug was replaced, the van is running perfect. It left me feel angry and disappointed that they would be so dishonest to deliberately misdiagnose the issue so they could make this huge sale. Shame on you AAA for this kind of a manipulative business. And I will definitely be sharing this experience with the corporate office.

Negative experience: I wish i could give them NO stars..... Please don't do business with Robert Krupica . Lots of choices regarding who you do business with and spend your hard earn money with, why do business with people who don't respect, value or consider you a customer and only just a $ for their pockets?. Negative experience: Went there as a AAA member to get an oil change. Was quoted an hour and a half until it would be done. They didn't even start by the time I got back over an hour later. I left, they didn't deserve my business

Positive experience: Tara helped us book our International flight and eased our minds about traveling outside of the country.

Positive experience: They could have a couple of extra chairs for customers to sit in while they wait.

Negative experience: All I can say is if your a woman you will be ripped off I went with an alternator issue and they suddenly found $2000 worth of work that had to be done. A month later I went to get my inspection done and they claimed they couldn’t pass it because it needed all this new work. When I questioned that I had just had $2000 worth of work earlier they suddenly said oh I think we can pass it. When I took it to jiffy lube they passed it without even a question. Shame on these crooked people Do not use this location they are No good. Dishonest and a out to cheat you.

Fantastic experience: On Christmas Eve 2022 my son ran his Toyota 2009 Camry left front wheel into a curb at 25 miles per hour (at an angle) while turning right. The car had to be towed, so I called AAA to tow it to my house. On Tuesday, December 27, I took pictures of the damages and took them to AAA and talked with Service Consultant Ron Hamel. Ron advised me to “make sure that the frame is not bent (or damaged) because we can replace all of the parts, but if the frame is bent, it will need to be straightened at a collision shop or the car can never be repaired properly. From Ron’s advice I had it evaluated and our result was that the frame was OK. I then had my car towed by AAA to the AAA at Colonades where Ron was and (he) received it into one of his car bays at AAA to be evaluated. Ron called me the next day with a list of recommendations and costs. Within 48 hours, my son’s car was repaired and returned to me. Amazing service with the best advice (possible) in a very difficult time. Because of AAA and Ron, I was able to enjoy the rest of Christmas and the New Year! I have been using AAA for fifteen years. They have all my car records and if my son’s car has a problem when he returns to college, I can have it serviced at a AAA certified garage. Thanks Ron! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Negative experience: Actually, AAA deserves a big fat zero. I was a member for 3 years, and then they lost my membership check. So now I will have a stop payment on my check, which will cost me $40. But I won't rejoin because their battery warranty is a joke. Their 2 year warranted 10 month old battery died, and they said there is nothing they could do for me? Also, they never called me back on an in office auto insurance quote request. Besides, their roadside service takes forever to get to you. All this after thousands spent in their local shop. AAA isn't worth your investment in them.

Fantastic experience: Met all expectations in a timely fashion.

Positive experience: Daughter's car wouldn't start. AAA Kildaire correctly diagnosed the issue and got her back on the road quickly (first available business day), and at a fair price. They didn't try to do unnecessary work. The customer service provided by Alex was excellent. Update: When I got a chance to look at the vehicle, I discovered that the battery had not been replaced, even though I had been charged $200 for a new battery. Dropping review to 3 stars.

Negative experience: came in for oil change, broke my wheel stud in the process. now I have to worry if they are going to do the replacement correctly since they couldn't even take a lug nut off correctly. I was second person to have a stud broken while waiting for my vehicle. last time coming to AAA. going back to my regular mechanic. never had an issue.

Negative experience: I was charged $470 for a battery.

Positive experience: I feel that there is an attempt to take advantage of a female customer. Certainly was not as thorough as the Walnut branch. No recommendations as to what I needed. The next day after oil change, car was shaking. They wanted to charge $129.00 to tell me why check engine light was on. After oil changes at both locations, something happened to my car the next day. My conclusion is, do not have a BMW serviced at a AAA.

Negative experience: This place get no stars from me. I went there today and tried to get my tire repaired or buy a new tire. They told me that my tire couldn’t be repaired. The guy wanted to charge me $217 for one tire. I left there and went to another franchise. They looked at my tire and said it could be repaired. I was out in about 30 mins and the BEST PART IS THAT THIS OTHER TIRE FRANCHISE DIDN’T CHARGE ME A SINGLE PENNY. I will never do business with AAA. They saw a woman and TRIED TO TAKE advantage of me BUT GOD!!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I took our car here recently to get engine repairs done. ( timing chain and all that jazz) I would just like to start off with what an awesome costumer service experience we had with Rance. He handled everything amazingly! Kept us stress free while extended warranty paperwork was going on. Got done what needed to be done in a great timely manner and kept us updated at all times. Also willing to help and figure out everything TOGETHER. Very understanding. He even took the time to call us after we got our car back just to make sure everything was doing great and we were satisfied. This place really does care!!! Our car is running better than when we bought it. Hats off to the mechanics! We are very pleased with this shop and will be taking all our vehicles here from now on. With the bad experiences we have had with other mechanic shops this one gives me faith that not every shop is out to get you!!! Thank you guys at aaa . You have really made a difference for us!

Fantastic experience: I received outstanding service here when I went in for a battery issue after one of the AAA roadside assistance crew members had to come rescue me from the side of the road. Negative experience: In my opinion any tripple A is modern highway robbery. They were going to charge me 150 for a new battery. When I got my own battery from Toyota (for free because it was under warranty) they still charged me 135 for “diagnostics” which I assume is just plugging the car into a computer and waiting a few minutes for the result. Two stars because they were at least nice about it and patient with me.

Positive experience: Went in for a standard oil change/tire rotation. 2 weeks later 3 of my 4 hubcaps are gone, lost while driving, after never having any issue with them before in the 4 years I've owned this car. Update: Was contacted within 24 hours about my issue and they have covered the replacements, so I'm changing this to 4 stars as they resolved the issue promptly to my satisfaction.

Negative experience: I recently had my vehicle towed by AAA to a AAA recommended car care center (AAA Car Care Center Colonades Way, Cary, NC). After diagnosing the issue with my vehicle, the tech called me and said that the engine was blown, both catalytic converters were in pieces, the manifold was in pieces, and the total replacement cost was $4,000. The tech recommended that I sell the car for parts to a junk yard and it only has 55k miles on it. That is more than the car is worth so I decided to get a 2nd opinion. After the 2nd opinion: I only have ONE catalytic converter and it was in good condition, the manifold was fine and the engine was NOT blown. $700 later I drove the car home and it runs great. Please do not take your vehicle here. I paid them $150 to completely misdiagnose my car that could have cost me thousands.

Fantastic experience: 5/5 stars for customer service. the entire team at this location has always been courteous and professional, but this particular time i want to give a review. i went in for car care on a monday and they took care of my car. my battery light went on friday and my car broke down so i went back to AAA on saturday so they could take a look. they quickly assessed the situation and my water pump broke and caused the serpentine belt to fall off. unfortunately the part wasn't readily available so they had to keep my car until monday to fix it. i pick up my car monday and as i am driving to work i hear a noise when i hit the brakes. i get concerned because i am returning back to AAA for a 3rd time in 9 days. when i arrive at AAA and tell them about my brakes, James Stephens handled the situation very professionally. i was frustrated at not understanding what was going on with my car. after assessment he (and the technician) assured me it wasn't a safety issue but normal wear-and-tear on my car. James then spent at least 20 additional minutes answer my questions so i could better understand (1)why this wasn't caught at the car care safety inspection (because what broke is either not a problem or it is a problem) and (2)what parts were making noise when i hit the brakes. he even spent additional time giving advice on if i should buy a new car or keep this one around. i appreciate his attention to detail and professional customer service. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I arrived early for my appointment because of a change to when I needed to pick up our pet from the vet; they got me in early, did the tire rotation quickly, and got me on my way. The front desk mgr was extremely nice and didn't try to sell me any services that I didn't need. Really pleased with the experience.

Fantastic experience: I had a flat and AAA call center highly recommended them. They are definitely knowledgeable and will for sure tell you, text you everything possibly wrong with your car. You will be informed if your car is older like mine. I have an older Honda that has high miles but still a good car. If you a branf new car you will be ecstatic due to fact that there are few issues to address. My car is old and I am on a budget so could only do a few things. Two tire replacements were 100 higher than my last purchase of two tires at another local place but I was strapped on time so let him charge me the extra 100 for tires that he had available. Knowledgeable staff for sure and the minute you walk in be prepared to pay 39 if brand car for oil change or 2000 for old car issues. Have money or go to alternative places. They do do good work though so still 5 stars. I am not rich tho so I have to seek alternative.

Fantastic experience: The staff at AAA Kildare was exceptional. The communication was great, the service was top notch. I had an emergency car repair and they squeezed me in with no issues. While the car was in there they even fixed 2 other nagging issues that no-one else could repair. Andrew and James were professional and knowledgeable and the service was even affordable!

Negative experience: Went in for oil change & tire rotation, paid my hard earned money & drove away. I got maybe 1/4 mile from shop,left rear tire is vibrating like crazy, turns out lug nuts were not tightened,all of the lug nuts came off. Lucky me. Will never go there again.

Fantastic experience: Very helpful about travel and entertainment needs. Picked up an international driving permit here in 15 minutes. Didn't realize they also had an auto service center as well.

Negative experience: DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! Do not trust AAA for more than a tire change on the side of the highway. My car had a slightly loud noise coming from the right front tire area. I took it into AAA to get their thoughts and they convinced me that I needed a new transmission that would cost me almost $7,000.00. I immediately knew that didn't sound right. I took it to two other shops to get their opinion and was told by both of them that it was the wheel bearing. $200 out the door and my car sounds and drives perfectly now. Thank goodness I trusted my gut and not the "mechanics" at AAA. I would also like to note that this is not the first time I have had an issue here. Would recommend looking elsewhere!

Fantastic experience: This is a wonderful travel agency. Heather DeCourcy, International Agent, is professional and extremely helpful.

Positive experience: I went there to have two tires with slow leaks repaired. However I received a list of recommended repairs and a recommendation that all four tires should be replaced. I went over the list of recommendations with the clerk and she showed me the tire wear so the tire replacement recommendations appeared to be legit. However, their part and labor prices even with my AAA membership are higher than other merchants so I declined their services. They put my car back together and didn't charge for their inspection which was nice.

Fantastic experience: I forget his name, but the assistant manager for the Car Care center was very helpful, super friendly, and just seemed genuinely happy to assist me.
