Traveling Teams, Inc.

Negative experience: Would never attend a tournament managed by Travel Teams again. They had reservations wrong and billed for nights that we were not there. Calls for support were no help and 2 of 3 staff were rude. It takes 3 days to make any adjustments and once they are in motion it was communicated that they would be billed. The hotel room prices are above what I could have arranged on my own. Just a cash grab with poor customer service. They had one agent that wad polite but unfortunately no help.

Negative experience: If I could leave zero stars I would. Extremely disappointing experience with Travelling Teams. Communication was consistently poor, with unreturned phone calls, return emails with unanswered questions. We were obligated to work with them due to tournament requirements. After booking the required number of rooms, they offered a complimentary room for our coach. However, upon checkout, we discovered that this 'complimentary' room was never actually approved. The lack of transparency and accountability was staggering. Needless to say, we would not recommend this company to anyone. Avoid tournaments that require you to work with this third party.

Fantastic experience: I had the best experience working with traveling teams. They were super efficient in helping place a hotel for our team and were quick to answer any questions I had.

Negative experience: One of the worst companies I’ve worked with, I was on call with a lady named Mackayla and she was extremely rude, and demanding. I’m sorry, I’m not in charge and I’m doing what I can in order to get u what u need!!!! She gives off really bad attitudes like she hates her job. HR needs to take care of her ASAP, I’m taking my business elsewhere where.

Fantastic experience: Traveling Teams has been great to work with while planning our team’s out of town hockey tournament. It’s my first year planning anything like this and it’s been a very smooth and easy process. The communication is very good, with very fast response times to questions. I would recommend!

Fantastic experience: Traveling Teams has been an excellent service for our ice hockey team. They collected a variety of hotels for us to choose from, with a helpful range of pricing and amenities. They have been fast and helpful with all correspondence. Their customer service was proactive, following up with us when not all of our families had responded, re-opening a block when needed, and providing helpful clarification. Additionally, their representatives are kind and courteous with each communication. They have helped make this tournament a smooth process!

Fantastic experience: As a team parent for a club volleyball team, I worked with Julie at Traveling Teams to reserve a block of rooms for an upcoming tournament. She was very responsive and accommodating to our needs. The information was very clearly communicated such that I was able to easily pass along to the team to make reservations. She followed up with me to see if we needed to extend the block deadline and promptly did so. It was a very positive experience all around. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Our organization had a great experience working with Julie. We had multiple teams that were looking to stay at the same location and she worked with us to find what we needed. We even had to add another team later and she was able to get them rooms at the same place. The ability to text directly with her allowed for a more productive and smoother process.

Fantastic experience: Julie was amazing. She helped our team get the rooms we needed in the hotel we wanted even though they appeared to be full. She kept in contact well but wasn’t a bother. When we found out we’d need more rooms she quickly handled it! I so appreciate Julie’s help and would recommend her to anyone!

Positive experience: Before arriving to your hotel, I recommend calling a couple of days before to confirm with the hotel on room you reserved and check in the morning of before arriving. I reserved a suite through Travel Team received a confirmation and the night I arrived the hotel had given my suite alway stating that a mass check in was done and because I was not present I was reassigned a regular room. Hotel blames Travel Team for mix up. After speaking to a representative at Travel Team, she refunded my deposit for the inconveniences and would work to resolve any further issue with their hotel partners. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Traveling Teams was super helpful in finding alternate accommodations when our first choice was full. They acted quickly and efficiently and got our team set with no worry or anxiety!

Negative experience: This vendor does not research their hotels. I am at a Stay to Play tournament in Tampa and was booked to a Spark by Hilton when in reality it’s the Brandon Center Hotel. It even says so on the invoice and the hotel has so many 1 star reviews. The parents were complaining of lights not working, beds that have hair on them, and even roaches in the room. Do not trust your tournament to this travel company

Fantastic experience: I have had a great experience with this organization. They have answered all my questions, sent me texts to remind me of approaching deadlines, and helped get new last minute reservations for new players.

Fantastic experience: I’ve worked with Traveling Teams a few times over the years and have always had a good experience. However this time, my expectations have *already* been exceeded by their fantastic service! Peter has been wonderful securing the hotel that I really needed my team to be in, and has made the registration process seamless for me. If I have to be a Team Manager again in future seasons, I’m looking for tournaments that work with Traveling Teams!

I needed to ask about grouping two of our teams together, and she talked through a few options and was able to make it all work out for us! She also confirmed updates for me along the way and gave me all of the info I asked for to be sure we were set for our group stay.

Negative experience: This company deserves a zero and athletic programs should be fully aware of the fraud that goes along with reservations through Traveling Teams. I reserved a hotel for a Spring 2025 tournament. I canceled the reservation on November 1st and I have yet to receive my refund for the deposit. I made several calls to customer service and one rep stated he needed to request the refund. They make excuses about refunding money and there is no manager to speak with. The reps stated the manager was on a phone call, when I requested to speak with a manager.

Fantastic experience: The Agent Peter that I worked with went above and beyond to help me. Peter had great response time and was very nice.

Negative experience: I wish I could give 0 stars! PSA: If you’ve ever had a Stay To Play tournament\showcase use Traveling Teams to secure hotel rooms and the showcase cancelled your division - be sure to stay on this company. They charged a $79.95 “deposit” from each of our families. When our division got canceled i called and asked if all of our hotel rooms would be cancelled and they confirmed they would. I would have never noticed, but a dad on our team noticed that they never refunded the $79.95. So I called to inquire about it - they were not going to refund it - they were 100% just hoping that people didn’t notice. EACH family had to call to request their refund, I could not just request it being team manager fie the whole team. When they refunded they only refunded $66.00 - they tried to keep the $13.95 as a cancellation fee…… so I had to call again and argue that they canceled our division - we did not just cancel going to the showcase. This company is extremely shady and I have never dealt with anything like it in my 9 years of managing multiple hockey teams. If a showcase or tournament uses this - totally look into opting out of the stay to play - I will be for sure. I hate shady!

Fantastic experience: This was my first time working with Traveling Teams to book a block of rooms for an upcoming soccer tournament. I’ve worked with a competing travel company in the past and Traveling Teams is head and shoulders above the competition. My contact Julie Foerster was always there to answer all my questions via phone and text! She made the entire process as smooth as possible and she was quick to follow up when the booking was complete. I’m looking forward to working with Traveling Teams for all future booking needs.

Negative experience: Booking went well as long as I was doing as the agent requested. She was very abrupt that I needed to get this done and complete even though our tournament was months away. We did. THEN…. Upon arriving to our hotel, my players were shorted promised amenities as well as their upfront deposit. Traveling Teams dropped the ball. If a tournament uses them, I will be requesting to use my own and show proof of stay to play if needed. Traveling teams will not receive my team’s business.

She followed up with the hotel to get additional rooms for our team, followed up as our reservation link/group code expiration date approached and extended the deadline when we requested. Very responsive via text, phone and email.

Fantastic experience: I have been a real pain in the butt with all our demands. We changed hotels a few times to fit our needs. We requested a hotel that was booked and our coordinator Julie was kind and patient with me the whole time, even though I’m sure I was driving her nuts. In the end, she got us rooms at the final hotel of our request (even though it was originally booked). I really appreciated her professionalism and efficiency.

Negative experience: This company just marked up the price of the hotel by over $100 PER NIGHT. If I go to the hotel website and book on my own, it will save me almost $400!! They will not change our team's rates to honor the price of the hotel. It is beyond frustrating, and with 4 kids in lots of travel sports we just cannot afford to pay extra for no reason! Their website advertises "the most competitive rates". What a joke!

Negative experience: Do not ever attend a soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball or football tournament that this travel agency is partnering with. They force you to stay to play then they double the price for your stay and do not allow you to book through anyone else to count toward your stay to play. It is very very unethical and horrible business practice. If there is a positive review with them 1. the person didn't check any other pricing of the hotel they stayed or 2. They are a relative!!! STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY!!!!!!Notify your CLUB Teams TO AVOID TOURNAMENTS ASSOCIATED With THEM AT ALL COST.

As a team manager for our soccer team, one of my least favorite responsibilities is setting up hotels because of the difficulty of getting in touch with the right person, negotiating rates, and getting an easy way for my team to book the rooms. Using Traveling Team does all of this for you! My representative Julie has been wonderful to partner with as well. I am so pleased with the whole experience!

Negative experience: Really bad customer support and unclear website instructions. Don’t understand why anyone would want to do business with them.

Negative experience: Very disappointed in this whole process. Soccer tournament and we are "forced" into booking through Traveling Teams which on the surface could work out well and be a discount at the hotel the team stays at. Unless you look up the hotel and see the price is significantly lower when booking on your own. I contacted Traveling Teams on July 9 and pointed out the price difference ($151 on my own vs $212 using Traveling Teams) which they replied right away that they are looking in to this issue. I hadn't heard any updates so I emailed them back on the 15th, which they replied right away they are still looking into the matter. So I emailed back on the 21st to point out the hotel price, when booking on my own is now up to $186 per night and asked for an update. I have not heard anything as of July 24. Very disappointed how all of this worked out. I hate to say it's a scam, but it sure is looking like it.

Negative experience: We have been forced to use this company several times for "stay 2 play" tournaments. Repeatedly, it has been the worst booking experiences we have ever encountered. There is nothing about the process that is easier for the teams. Run from these tournaments!

Fantastic experience: As my first time using traveling teams in my team manager role, I have had an excellent experience with everyone I’ve been in contact with. They have been accommodating, flexible, and very communicative.

Negative experience: Funny thing this organization calls themselves cost free. It is not. They force you to book through them for your hotels and charge you a deposit on hotels which goes directly into their pocket and the hotel rates online are less then this organization publishes. Compete scam, beware.

Fantastic experience: After booking a tournament for my son's youth hockey team, I was given a link to book hotel accommodations through Traveling Teams. My point of contact was Lauren she was fantastic. There are always wrinkles when trying to book hotel rooms for 18 families and coaches. Any issues that arose she quickly ironed out and was quick to answer any questions I had. I would definitely work with Travel Teams again.

Negative experience: Horrible!! They really deserve 0 stars. Our group arrived at the hotel to find out our reservations were sent in for the wrong day and they were now sold out. We had nowhere to go and were promised a refund within 5 days. Welp it's been 20 DAYS!!!! and still nothing. I'm taking legal action and disputing with the bank. Please do yourself a favor and stay far away from booking with this company.

Fantastic experience: Travel team is playing in Tulsa Elite and we booked our block of rooms through Traveling Teams Inc. They have done a fantastic job of keeping us up to date on rooms and getting us the best available price. Makes traveling with a team very easy.

Negative experience: We were required to book through this agency for TFL Softball Tournament that was in Houston area on 05/17/24-5/18/24. When we arrived to the hotel our they couldn’t locate our reservations and later found out it was canceled by someone else. Because there was a storm the day before all the hotels were sold out. We came back to the hotel after midnight because we couldn’t find any availability anywhere. The front desk lady felt bad and tried to help us out. She canceled another guest reservation who was a no show to open up a room. We were charged about $85 more a night. Hotel said we need to contact Traveling Teams to get it sorted out. I called Traveling Teams first thing Monday. Lady I spoke to said she will put in a complaint and it should be resolved by the end of the week. I called back Friday 5/24/24 and the lady I spoke to said the manager is on vacation because it’s Memorial Day weekend. She said to call back Monday. I called back on Monday and Zack gives me the same run around. He said it’s not their fault and they will put in a complaint. I told Zack, you guys already put in a complaint the week before and no one got back to me. I told him because of someone’s mistake, they should at least refund us the difference we had to pay. Basically Zack said it’s not their fault and there’s nothing they can do. If these tournaments are requiring you to use this agency to book hotels, the least they can do is apologize and offer to pay for the difference. Only thing they do is give you the run around and say it’s not their fault. This Traveling Teams agency is horrible!!

It was also fast and took just a couple days to get set up and start having players make their individual reservations. Negative experience: I'm having a bad experience with this company currently. Made reservation for tournament to go with my kids early March and booking went through fine. I went on vacation few days after that and came back 11 days later, 3 days before the start of tournament. Next day I got a call from TT that my reservation needs to change because the hotel I was going to stay in has to shut down due to boiler issue. So I got rebooked. 2 hours later I realized new booking was almost an hour away from fields (initial booking was 15 mins away). So I called back and cancelled. I was told they would charge $13 or so cancellation fee. Next morning I get text I was just charge reservation fee. I logged into my credit card account and new charge is pending and also a hold change from early March for initial booking was never removed. If they won't solve it I will definitely file dispute claim with my credit card. I will never use Traveling Teams again. Update: it's been now week and a half and still haven't been refunded for the hotel. Final Update: couple of weeks later I received a call from very friendly and professional rep who said they will cut me a check and pursue the funds I was charged by hotel to be sent to TT. I got the check few days later and appreciate they professionalism I was treated with on last communication. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Our team has used Traveling Teams for many years now. I find it easier to book my room blocks by talking to the actual coordinator versus using the online form. I have always gotten a quick email response from the coordinator and generally they call me within a day to get a hotel choice, that meets our teams needs, finalized. Fast and efficient.
