Positive experience: We had a great time at the house! We love the hot tub, BBQ, and the sledding hill directly behind the house. Those pieces were perfect for our family. We did NOT love the neighbors who complained about us playing very low volume music at 1:30 pm. Honestly we had a tiny Bluetooth speaker turned to low and they called the owners to complain. Family members who were in the house could not even hear the music!! Other than that our stay at this house was fabulous. Watch out for grumpy neighbors if you stay here. The house is awesome though!
Negative experience: I wish to give this company negative stars. They cost us nothing but time, money, and hours in the pure cold. We booked a house in South Lake Tahoe. When we got there, we called them for the key code and they just said we needed to validate the reservation. When I did that, they said I had to be at least 25 to reserve the house-- which was not something they asked when I was reserving this on VRBO. But hey, no problem. I had my two parents with me that were well above the age of 25 and sent over their IDs as proof. They then said they had to rebook the reservation under my father's name. Which again, sounded like no problem. But, I was wrong. This was apparently a very big problem that this big company could not handle. Some agent canceled our reservation because they said it went against an age policy-- even though they had proof both my parents were there. We then tried to rebook the reservation, but they did not allow a same day reservation-- even though we technically reserved this house days ago. What kind of rental company cannot override this during special circumstances like this one? But hey, no way would they leave us stranded, right? -- WRONG. After hours in the cold, and hours searching for a hotel. They genuinely destroyed our family trip, one which everyone requested time off for, and one that everyone had been excited for throughout the last week. WARNING: THIS COMPANY IS DISGUSTING,WORTHLESS, AND DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE IN BUSINESS!!!! DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE!!!
Negative experience: TurnKey is the worst company that any vacationer can attempt to use. I had a really bad experience with them as of a couple weeks ago. We reserved a cabin in South Lake Tahoe, on a day in which it was a stormy and snowy. We had already paid and reserved 4 days prior to the date of the reservation. We got to Lake Tahoe, and we were told that our reservation was no longer valid. We asked why, and they said that the person that it was reserved under was not above the age of 25. This is despite the fact that we had sent them ID's of other guests who were well over the age of 25, including me. We then contacted customer service, and they said it would be an easy fix. A man said that he was gonna redo the reservation and cancel it for us, with no issues. He then responds 2 hours later (mind you we are in the freezing cold, with food that was spoiling in the trunk), and says that he had cancelled it, and that it was on us to reserve it. We then told him that this is not fair as he promised that he would take care of it. He then told us to call TurnKey customer service. After an hour on hold, they said that we can no longer reserve it as there is no Same Day Reservations. After another 2 hours in the cold, we were left with nothing but no service, no reservation, and of course, a new mission to find a hotel. The man who texted us refused to tell us his name, as he knew that he was well in the wrong. We genuinely despise this company, and this should be a warning. DO NOT USE TURNKEY FOR ANY REASON!!!
Negative experience: Very shady operation. First they wouldn’t let us cancel and change plans when the Caldor Fires were ongoing. Saying Airbnb had to approve the cancellation, while Airbnb pointed the finger back at them. When we arrive the toilet was not operational. When paying $1k for a four day accommodation you expect - accommodation. No working toilet does not count as accommodation. We notified them the moment we arrived and by day three they continued to respond only by text saying “our Homecare team is working to resolve this issue.” No one would ever call us and they never actually sent anyone. Nor would they cancel the reservation and give us a refund. Literally held us hostage in a one bedroom with no toilet. Then they would send texts saying we received notice that the issue has been resolved let us know if you need anything else. No one ever came!! Absolute trash company and will forever change my mind about Airbnb.

Negative experience: Laughably awful customer service. Not from the reps themselves, but from the company as a policy. TLDR: We have a group stay booked in South Lake Tahoe for the end of September. The property is right on the fire line. Instead of cancelling, I called to see if I could - hear me out - simply change rental properties moving from one TurnKey residence to another nearby one that was more out of harms way. TurnKey told me that was "absolutely not possible" since it was within 30 days of my booking. 30 days before my booking there was also no fire in the area. The option they gave me was to cancel my reservation with no refund, then re-book for the new property paying full price. 100% unacceptable. A classic example of a company that loves talking the talk until it's time to walk the walk. BOOK WITH CAUTION.

Negative experience: We have a house reservation for next week and can’t get to the house due to the Caldor fires. This company won’t give anyone a refund or a credit to reschedule their trip, even though there’s an evacuation order in place.. do not use this company for your rental needs..

Negative experience: EVACUATION "ORDER" issued for South Lake Tahoe and this company offers no support. I don't need to further evaluate. This should be enough information for you make future decisions. If you used this company and are in a similar situation make sure to contact your credit card provider and request a chargeback. Your credit card may even have an insurance for this type of event. Since there is a mandatory evacuation it makes it impossible to receive the service you paid for. This is absolutely worthy of a dispute as chargebacks are not only limited to fraud and can be used for dissatisfaction of merchandise or a service as well. Lastly, utilize the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint. You can do this directly on their website. This sometimes does the trick as well. Good luck and I hope this helps many.

Negative experience: TURNKEY VACATION RENTALS IS A SCAM! As everyone is aware of the Caldor fires going on, reaching towards south lake Tahoe, evacuations are starting to occur. I booked a cabin for Labor Day weekend for my friends wedding crew and after watching the news updates, it’s not looking promising. I contacted Turnkey Vacation Rentals 2 weeks prior to our arrival date seeking options on a refund with the unforeseeable future if we are unable to get to the cabin safely.. The company basically gave me an “oh well” attitude after speaking with two representatives on the phone. They didn’t discuss any options with me nor showed any sympathy. They informed me that since we did not purchase “travelers insurance”, refunds are not available. Which that was never offered to me prior to booking! If highway 50 is blocked off and the air quality is HAZARDOUS with smoke filling the air so bad that you can’t even see far out onto the roads, how do we not qualify with a refund given that services this company CANNOT provide to us? After reading all the other sad/horrific reviews on here with the same current situations, it’s very clear this company does not care about our safety nor providing any customer service. I will never book with Turnkey Vacation Rentals again.

All reservations which are made more than 10 days in advance of check-in are fully refundable if the guest cancels the reservation within 72 hours after the time of booking. After this cancellation period expires, all payments are non-refundable. We also highly encourage guests to purchase travel protection to help protect costs against cancellation due to sickness, bad weather, job loss, natural disasters and more. Negative experience: 97% of airbnb and vrbo rentals are rescheduling stays for their properties during the worst ever season of forest fires when tourists are being asked to stay home. VRBO means "Vacation rental by owner" not vacation rental by agency or parent company Vacasa. Most homeowners who use Short term rental services understand customer service, adaptability because they are NOT hotels. Except this company. This company will respond with an apology, and how they appreciate the feedback, but we are tire of hearing the apologies, change the narrative and your behavior to keep the respect of the community. Unconscionable business practices. Stay away.

Negative experience: Wildfire burning Tahoe and I couldn’t access cabin. VRBO linked to this corporate company that gives no care for South Lake Tahoe. They wanted me to vacation and would not refund or relocate me while lives in El Dorado County were ruined. They care not about people or Lake Tahoe.....please don’t use them they are corporate slime that should be run out of county. VRBO partners with them, don’t use them either.

Negative experience: BE PREPARED TO DISPUTE WITH YOUR BANK!!! We had a booked a trip and because of the Caldor WildFire we are not even able to travel to the rental because highway 50 is CLOSED AND THERE IS AN EVACUATION and they still refuse to give a refund or even switch our dates to reach absolutely TERRIBLE Response to the reply there is no protection or insurance on Airbnb which is what we booked with you

Negative experience: I booked a place in Tahoe yesterday. I find out today through national news that the area is under threat of the California wild fires and visitors are fleeing smoke and ash. I am asthmatic and cannot risk being near such condotions.I tried to cancel less than 24 hours later and they are refusing to return the $1700 dollars they took from me and did nothing to earn. Stay far away from this one.

Negative experience: DO NOT BOOK!!!! Update: I filed a credit card dispute, August 21st, after a recommendation from a TurnKey rep. I shockingly received a call from a Turnkey rep that I had won my dispute and the funds would be awarded. She informed me that it would take time to reflect since they submit the approval to their financial institution, and then it would go to mine. I asked multiple times for written notification that it was being awarded. She stated they could not provide that information and I would receive the correspondence from my financial institution. Here we are, September 9th, and my financial institution notified me that Turnkey REJECTED the dispute! This company is SLIMY to say the least! I've contacted Turnkey only to be greeted with the same run around that no supervisor is available and I would be put in a queue for call back. Turnkey shamefully and purposefully ties the hands of those reps ability to actually help. The rep did confirm that it was in the case notes that I was called on August 25th to be informed that the dispute was awarded, but then back tracked that it was still in the review process. He also confirmed that the recording was attached to the case! MAKE IT RIGHT TURNKEY! We are avid vacation home renters vs hotel. This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever encountered while traveling. If you want a filthy house that looks like the morning after a frat party, non functioning facilities, and terrible customer service then you have found your company. Upon arrival we made it known that we were displeased with the condition of the home. We found dirty towels in made beds! Every linen in the house had stains on them, and we were left to wash them. Some stains washed out, which tells me they were not washed after the last guest that dirtied them. There were still piles of tape all over the walls from the previous guests decorating, along with dirty hand prints all over the walls. The bathroom wall behind the toilet had some type of bodily fluid dried all over it. By the smell of the room and garbage left behind, my guess would be vomit from the massive party that someone had! With a $200 cleaning fee, this should never happen. We booked the home knowing it had 3 full bathrooms, only to find out that the shower had standing water and yuck floating in it. It was 90+ degrees everyday with no ac, but we were promised fans. 3/5 fans were broken. That left two very small nightstand fans to cool a two story 3 bedroom and 3 bathroom home that sleeps 10 people. The ice machine was broken on the fridge, and it also said it needed a filter change. The furnace also stated it needed a filter change. One of the perks of a vacation home is that you can cook meals, but not in this kitchen! The kitchen was disgusting! There was a giant grease stain above the stove, and every cabinet was caked with filth. We were informed that a maintenance person would be out to fix the shower and a cleaning crew would be sent. NO ONE SHOWED!!! No call back, no resolution when we called back. It was the same story every time that they would give us a call back. There was no offer to move us to a different property. We were just expected to sleep here in the filth or clean it ourselves as well as share bathrooms. TurnKey has a contractual obligation to correct maintenance issues in a timely fashion, and that did not happen. I’ve made several calls over the past month and promised that it has been escalated to the regional manager. Never heard back! Not one individual. No compensation for our troubles as promised. I will never stay with TurnKey or VaCasa after seeing first hand the customer service standards. It is full of promises with no follow through. The editing in pictures of homes is fantastic compared to real life conditions. Reviews of homes are skewed as my review was never posted. I wonder if the owner of the property is aware of the condition that TurnKey has allowed the house to slip into. The amount of wear and tear on the house was excessive. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Positive experience: The house we rented in South Lake Tahoe was nice. I had a couple questions so I called the Turnkey help line. They were a bit snobby when I had my simple questions. Not sure why it was a reasonable question to ask for late check out and about air conditioning.

Negative experience: First review ever -- I hate that I'm even doing this but they were an awful company to have to deal with. I had to contact this company to get updated on a lost item every single day for a week. I was finally told that the item wasn't found and that the support ticket I had opened was closed two days ago. Totally unprofessional, especially considering the fact that I called them both the day it was closed and the day after and neither representative had mentioned that the cabin was cleaned, the item wasn't located, or that the ticket was closed. Lastly, we spent nearly $5000 on the cabin. We dealt with a huge insect problem, 90+ degrees all weekend, not one window had a single screen on it. The outdoor furniture had all of its cushions removed and was nowhere to be found, both fridges in the cabin weren't working properly so half our food we brought spoiled, and we used coolers as makeshift fridges. I can't speak for other rentals, but if this company manages them the same way they did this one, and have this sort of careless response to a simple lost item inquiry, I feel like it's a strong indicator that you should avoid renting from Turnkey. My issue could have been resolved so much easier, and instead they absolutely blew me away with their lack of clarity and contradictory information. Fully aware it's my fault I left something, but I expect a company to follow through on what they tell me and have the decency to not close a support ticket without informing me that it was closed via a call/text/email. Very lame.

Negative experience: I can’t even begin to explain what a nightmare of a weekend it was using this company. First off, we received an email confirmation related to our stay with the correct dates, however, as soon as we arrived in Tahoe this company reserved our stay for the following year!! After 3.5 hours on the phone, going back and forth trying to get a place, Turnkey finally provided us a house to stay in. We receive the email confirmation, door code, and get settled in for the night. At 9pm we receive a text message that THEY, Turnkey, messed up and we have to leave the house! Turnkey calls, we answer, they want us to leave.. it’s now around 930 at night.. we tell them no, because of how late it already was, but to call us during normal hours and we’d be happy to try to work something out. Well, it’s now 10:10pm on a Friday night, and here comes this company trying to kick us out of the house they gave us, because they messed up!! 10:10 at night and you show up to kick us out?! What kind of customer service is that?! Yes, Turnkey did find us a new place, after a painful 30 hours of dealing with horrible customer service. Never do I wish this experience upon anyone! Own up to your mistakes, and please don’t show up again to kick people out of a house you provided that late at night!

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with TurnKey Vacation Rentals in South Lake Tahoe! They were quick to respond, gave descriptive instructions for the home, and provided us with a great home during our honeymoon!
Negative experience: We stayed at one of the rentals their. Place was not cleaned found used contact lenses on the bathroom floor with other debri. We paid almost $800 for 2 nights stay Wi-Fi did not not could not get anyone to help. We came to get away and relax and they wanted us to stay put and wait for them to contact us. Overall not a relaxing get away.

Negative experience: We rented a cabin in November with 6 family members and when we arrived, the heater and fireplace would not stay on, the dishwasher was broken and the oven would not work. We called the phone number they left us right away first thing the next morning and they told us they would send someone out within 2 hours. 90 minutes later a contractor arrived and accessed everything and realized the maids had placed tin foil over a air gap for the oven and he needed to go to the hardware store to fix the heater and dishwasher. He came back 45 minutes later and at this point, it was still about 55 degrees in the house and people were keeping themselves warm in their cars. He installed the new parts and band aided the fireplace and dishwasher to work. He also explained that these cabins were getting overused recently. He took pictures of everything including our breakfast pizza that was ruined since the oven didn't work and we tried to cook it on the stove. It was now 1:30 pm and we were all cold and starving so we went to get lunch. The contractor told us he would write a detailed log of everything and TurnKey would be in contact with us regarding compensation if that's what we wanted. Long story short, TurnKey never contacted us, we ended up calling them over 15 times to get any form of compensation in which they denied us every time. They promised call backs and emails, which never happened. When we asked each time to speak to a manager and why there was nothing they could do for us, they responded, "Because we do not feel we should do anything and that you were not Inconvenienced" You've got to be kidding me! We will never use TurnKey again and we cannot believe how unprofessional they are. We reasserted what we went through over 6 times to Managers each time we called. Unfortunately VRBO could not do anything since TurnKey was the property managers for this cabin. A hard lesson learned for sure. Be aware and stay clear of TurnKey.

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. I still have not been contacted by anyone about this problem. I am beyond anger at this point. I rented a cabin for a family of 6 with children, and it came with no way to cook. No oven/stove. I was never informed of this prior to my stay. Turnkey reimbursed 400 which I’m in no way satisfied. I’ve had no apology no recognition. We were celebrating the birthday of our son who passed 2 months ago in Tahoe at the age of 21 in a horrific accident. This is absolutely unacceptable service. I expect a full refund. Contact me ASAP or you will be hearing from my attorney!!! I will NEVER use Turnkey AGAIN. Even though I booked through airbnb. Because I didn’t contact airbnb in the first 24 hours they have washed their hands of me. All the signs in the house said to contact turnkey and so I did. Needless to say we spent an extra $1500 on food eating out. Every time you eat out with a family of 6 it’s over $100.

Our arrival, parking and entry was simple and all bedrooms were spacious for the 8 members in our family. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, gas fireplace, patio grill and relaxing great room. The condo was clean and well maintained with a modern luxury that made our stay very relaxing. An overnight snowstorm and icy roads on Sunday made our travel home a challenge, but we were extremely happy to learn we could book an extra night! It was a simple phone call to make the arrangements and we returned to enjoy a final night's stay. We hope to be back later this winter for another stay and possible ski weekend, and would highly recommend this property for an enjoyable vacation!

Negative experience: This company is horrible don't use them. I cancelled my reservation 2 and a half months in advance and they will not refund me my money back. Even thow when I cancelled they said I would not receive 10% back which I was okay with so I proceed to cancel. Now they are telling me my money is not refundable and to read the cancellation policy which doesnt give me any info. Whish I would have done my research on this company because as I read other people's reviews about this company I'm not the only person they have some this too. I don't even know how they are in business.

Fantastic experience: We felt really taken cared of! The property was beautiful! All of their contact prior to our visit were easy to read and the directions for everything on the property were easy to follow and easy to use. We did have an issue with the hot tub when we got there and the response to get it fixed was super quick and they checked in with us (via text, which I loved!) afterwards. Fantastic experience: The place was very spacious. Very clean. The house was well stocked, bowls, pots. All you needed in the kitchen. The hot tub was great the weather was hot and it was an excellent asset, especially with Covid, we stayed at the house for the most part. The house dosen't have air conditioning, but the house had two ceiling fans, and 3 other fans. Rooms were comfortable.

Positive experience: During our recent stay in South Lake Tahoe, we loved every part about our home! It was pretty well equipped with the necessary items we needed. We did need to phone TurnKey regarding a few issues and the ladies on the phone were very professional when taking information from us. The only problem was that we had to call 3 days in a row, which was half-way through our trip to receive the items we requested. We were never contacted by the service that was suppose to deliver the items. They were dropped off by our door late on the 3rd day. Other-than-that, the service along the way was great!
Negative experience: Awful experience. Be warned! We showed up to our rented property on Saturday to a broken dishwasher and broken freezer with NO mention of it prior to our arrival! After purchasing $300 of groceries we called Turnkey Property Management on that Sunday. We were told it would be fixed that Monday. Nothing happened Monday. Nothing happened Tuesday. Wednesday they called us bc the property owners wanted to see if an Amazon delivery arrived. Their first outreach to us was because they were satisfying the owners! We left Friday and it was still not fixed. Never staying at a Turnkey Property again.

Negative experience: We had an awful experience with this company and their property up near heavenly valley. They have been unresponsive to our unit flooding and their text responses are pathetic-from some kind of text response computer program. We lost money and time on our vacation. Things were broken in the property and the lack of ac/or even fans was pathetic when the house was over 80 degrees over half the day. I will never knowingly use their services again. update-after complaining about the horrible experience, they did offer a partial refund of less than one day.

Negative experience: I am about 48 hours away from the end of my stay at 1419 Friant Dr in Lake Tahoe. Booking BKG-539742 To say I feel financially swindled would be an understatement. Here are my issues in no particular order: 1. I went with your property at Turnkey because I felt a big company like yours would have its act together. So I paid more…… MUCH more than other homes that were available. 2. When you book a property and clearly state you will have at least 10 guests, why would your housekeeper give us 5 towels for showering? 3. One of the biggest reasons I selected this location was because of the hot tub. I have a bad back and a nightly hot tub makes a huge difference in my ability to walk the next day. The hot tub had NO water in it and no way of putting water in it with chlorine or other substances. When you say a property comes with an amenity, and then it doesn’t…. you have lied to your customer. 4. We bought and prepared over a dozen steaks to grill outside. The propane lasted 3 minutes. ALLLLLLLLL of that steak was useless. Had to be thrown out. We had to then pay for dinner for 10 people at a restaurant at great expense. 5. I tried to text you 4 times. A robot said he didn’t recognize my number. I then called……TWICE. I gave the help line my phone number. They said they didn’t recognize it because they had a different number. I DO NOT HAVE A DIFFERENT NUMBER! I spent over 3 hours on the phone with these jerks when I was supposed to be on vacation. 6. One time I called, I was promised a call back from a supervisor. She did call. She apologized profusely and said the maintenance people would be out with towels, a new propane tank and they’d fix the hot tub the next day. Nobody ever came. 7. We have small children. There are nails sticking out of boards in front of and slightly under the front deck where they play. NOT SAFE FOR KIDS! 8. The stairway has no railing on one side and is not up to code. NOT SAFE FOR KIDS! If I don’t provide my clients with the services I PUT IN WRITING, I lose my license and face criminal fines. Turnkey the company, has stolen from me. Stolen money, stolen a back pain free time, stolen enjoyment and relaxation. Turnkey has 100% RUINED my first weeklong vacation in 9 years. I hope you are proud of yourselves. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!

Negative experience: This is through AirBnB... I have been trying to cancel for a couple weeks due to unfortunate circumstances with COVID and now its too late, so I decided to just change the dates to next year. Now they say its a 3 night minimum instead of my original 2 nights. That is a better option than losing my money so I requested it. They denied my change in dates, then when I asked about why they denied it, they said it is out of their control as my contract is with AirBnB. In speaking with AirBnB, they cannot make adjustments to reservations without the renters consent, which makes sense. To get ahold of anyone at Turnkey, I was on hold, multiple days in a row for no less than 30 minutes each time. Every time I am told the same thing, its not their problem, contact AirBnB. Basically they want nothing to do with me and have pushed this on for so long with volleying me back and forth between AirBnB and this office that its to a point where I am going to lose my money. A terrible company, which reading other reviews, it sounds like a lot of people are having issues with them. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. For a person who goes to rented cabins in Tahoe upwards of 6-7 times per year with groups, I will spread my experience to my extended circle.

Negative experience: BEWARE!!! TurnKey is a scam and profiting from this pandemic! My family and I had a trip planned, which was done through Airbnb for one of TurnKey’s properties, and tried to cancel due to a family member getting sick with COVID-19. After they denied our original request, we then asked to reschedule to a later date next year (Keep in mind not even asking for the refund, just a reschedule), which was also denied. I was on hold 4 different times for over 30 minutes and never got ahold of a representative and they stopped replying to our emails. They are trying to keep all of our money! It looks like there’s many other people out there that have had this happen to them as well. Has anyone found a resolution to this absolutely horrific experience?

Fantastic experience: I rented a home for our family vacation in Lake Tahoe. The place was clean, and well kept. The only 3 things that could have been better is the back yard gate would not close correctly. Towels were nice and clean but think they can use new ones and had some problems connecting to cable to watch TV. Rooms and beds were good and had everything we needed. Positive experience: Overall this was a great experience, Turnkey was very informative by email and text prior to the trip, although I do not receive email on my phone and while at the house I only received emails and no text, found the correspondence when i got home. There is no private pool at this house like the description stated, it is simply a hot tub. It was a little chilly for swimming, so not such a problem. The BBQ was very well used and only enough propane for one use, although there was an extra tank right there, it was empty. All in all it worked out good for our stay and would go again.

Negative experience: We rented a home through this service and they cancelled the day before we arrived due to the home being “off-market”. The company would provide no additional information and since we booked through VRBO our refund was held for nearly a week. Beware of this company as it appears they are a 3rd party that does not actually manage any of these homes.

Negative experience: I am one of many which appears to have lost money to TurnKey vacation rentals when I cancelled the trip to Tahoe 2 Months before my stay, and they still kept my money and called it s "Service Fee" for having done nothing but keep my money. What a horrible company when given plenty of notice and to no fault of our own and they still keep your money to use with them as a credit so they can scam you again. Also the same day after I canceled they sent me a notice stating that Tahoe would be shut down in July which so far appears to be false as well. I hope the 1 star reviews continue to mount so people are aware how you treat customers. VRBO did reach out to me and hopefully others so they can be made aware of TurnKey practices. Also I recommend having those who have lost money to dispute it with your credit card company so they receive enough derogatory marks where they would treat people fair in the future. In response to Turnkey, Yes there is a better solution, Not keeping my money by waiving the policy (like you now have done after all the negative reviews) and refund it due to items outside of our control regarding a worldwide pandemic and me cancelling it months ahead of time. You chose to hide behind your pre-pandemic policy and NOT do what is right.

Negative experience: Let me start by saying that the house we stayed in was great. As for turn key that is a whole other story. We are now in day 4 of our 7 day vacation and still don’t have hot water. It took three days and probably 10 messages to get the firewood we were supposed to have. They always respond to all of your messages in a kind manner and promise it is getting taken care of and they will follow up. Then nothing absolutely nothing happens and you don’t hear from them until you message them back. Then the same cycle starts over again. Also this may sound crazy but I’m pretty sure they have sound meters around the house. We continue to get messages claiming they are receiving noise complaints. One of those noise complaint messages came at 7 pm while we were eating dinner. There is also one one around us that could possibly hear anything. They even sent a security guard out who admitted that he didn’t hear anything from the outside of the house. Once again this review is not towards the home or homeowner just turnkey. Here’s to hoping we get hot water before the end of our vacation.

Negative experience: I booked a property advertised as "Lakefront Haven w/ Backyard Beach, Dock & Hot Tub" We were specifically looking for a place with a hot tub. We arrived and immediately turned on the hot tub to heat it up, 2 hours later it is still cold, the bubbles turn on, but it would not heat up. We call turnkey and they said they could not take care of it that evening but would send someone by noon the next day to fix it. No one ever came, I called to follow up and they were just full of excuses saying they were supposed to come, we will reach out to them again. We left the next day and never got to use the hot tub, it was "on" the whole time, but never heated up. I then proceeded to call Turnkey every day for 2 weeks requesting a refund. They said we cannot offer you anything until someone goes and check the hot tub. The manager was supposed to call me back, no one ever called me back. I had to continue to call them over and over again. Finally, they gave me a $110 refund after paying $1,088.40 for the stay. They said, someone went and checked it and it worked. I never said it did not work, I said it was not heating up. I doubt they waited to see if it would heat up. The customer service is awful, they do not stick to their word and I would never book with this company again!

Negative experience: I never actually got the chance to stay at a TurnKey property, so this review is based solely off my experience with their customer service. I had booked a rental home in South Lake Tahoe with a different travel agency, but about a month before the vacation this agency told me they had sold the property to TurnKey and TurnKey would be handling my reservation. However, when I called TurnKey they could find no record of my reservation. When the agent realized he couldn’t find my reservation he became incredibly rude and clearly just wanted to get me off the phone. He made no attempt to troubleshoot the issue and kept repeating “it may still be pending. There is no reason to be stressed.” The vacation was in about 20 days and we had no confirmation we had a place to stay, so clearly I was stressed! The agent also refused to put me in touch with a local South Lake Tahoe representative because providing me the information of a local agent would be against company security policy (??). I asked if he would forward my information and he said okay, but no one else ever reached out. In the end, the original agency told me Turnkey did not end up honoring my reservation and we had to cancel and rebook. I have no way of knowing whether the original agency or Turnkey was at fault, but the customer service experience I had with Turnkey was terrible and I would not trust them with any future vacation rentals.

Fantastic experience: Great rental experience. We had a few questions about the property when we arrived (wifi info and late check-out request) and it was easy to get in touch with the TurnKey support group. Digital check-in and key-less entry was nice and easy. I would specifically look for TurnKey properties in the future.

Negative experience: Just stayed a week at 1120 Charles St. South Lake Tahoe. Someone please tell the owners to invest a little money in bedroom furniture. Absolutely ridiculous. Just basically a cot and that was it. No dresser. No bedside table. No nothing. Wake up owners. Don't just take the money and run.
Negative experience: Worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Our house we rented has all sorts of issues and no one seems to care. They just text me stock answers that “someone is coming by” but no one does. They could care less. If you call you get someone in Colorado who says they will “try and reach the local person” but never do that as well. If you can avoid renting from Turnkey I would!!!!

Positive experience: 1 month of following up with messages and emails and not a single person had called me back. 3 weeks out from vacation and they still haven't resolved the false advertisement of the rental property. Finally I post this review and I get a resolution. Issue was resolved, but i've upgraded my review from 1 star to 3 stars because of the massive amount of chasing them for a resolution without hearing back until I had posted a 1 star review.

Negative experience: We had the police come to the house while we were staying there because the management company did not have the right permits for short term rentals. This was a nightmare, because we had to find a new place all on our own - their customer service was rude and did not help or sympathize with the situation at all!

Negative experience: Summary: Unethical, scammers, poor and rude customer service. Booked a place through AirBnb that was managed by them. They sent out a separate contract 2 hours before checkin that made it look like it was a 30-day rental instead of the 4 to try and get past the short-term rental laws in south lake tahoe.
Thank you for your review, Mikhail. The co-tenant lease/residential lease agreement covers multiple reservations within a 30 day period. This is something that is mandated by the city – we are not scamming you, being unethical, or trying to bypass laws. If there are multiple reservations within the same 30-day window, all of those reservations will be included in the agreement. These always get tricky within Airbnb, however, the full rental agreement/residential lease agreement is on the homes listing to provide complete transparency to our guests within these markets. This can be found under the "Policies" section on the Airbnb listing. Additionally, this document was sent to you prior to your checkin – we had to resend it because you did not sign the agreement, which was needed for us to release your door code.
Fantastic experience: Nice accommodations in a great location. Hot tub was in good running shape, enjoyed grilling on the patio. Good for families and groups of friends.
Negative experience: Don't stay at the Del Norte "Luxury" Property! We are very disappointed in this "luxury" rental. It's very large but the size is pointless because no one can park here and no street parking is allowed. The driveway is inaccessible due to a 10-12 inch steep incline! Imagine trying to get over a speed bump that is 12 inches tall. Very poorly constructed. One of our cars lost its running boards trying to pull in. Turnkey called me 30 days prior to our vacation to go over the property rules, but somehow forgot to mention the inaccessible driveway! Overall the house is in poor shape: dirty carpet, gross furniture, bad mattresses, shower heads didn't work, fireplaces won't turn on, TV issues, poorly stocked kitchen. We notified Turnkey and they said they'd send a technician over by noon the next day...no one showed up or called. Trying to get a refund from Turnkey but they are being awful to work with now that they have our money. Find another rental and stay away from Turnkey. After our stay when I received the standard request to review their property I wrote the this same review and they still haven't posted it to their website. They cannot be trusted.
Positive experience: We never received the beach passes, and several chairs need to be fixed. But we loved the location and cleanliness!
Fantastic experience: Loved the place and hope to use it again. Perfect location to walk to many places.
Positive experience: Great service and staff. Only had issues with connecting to WiFi and water would only be hot for first few guests. There’s a hard Bamboo type rug in the bedroom that was uncomfortable to walk on in one of the bedrooms. Other than that we loved our location and the condo was very nice.
Fantastic experience: Very Clean and spacious house. Lot of board games, foosball and pingpong table available, if that interests you. Kitchen is well equipped. Way under-priced compared to some below average houses I have stayed before. Will recommend this house for any age group.

Positive experience: This is a review for the company, not the location we stayed. The check in process was a HUGE pain in the butt. Getting the code took a few calls and was bounced around. Granted, I was trying to inquire about checking in an hour early as we had people driving in from out of town but still... Not a very 'turn key' process. Aside from that, our stay was great but that puts you in a bad mood when you're having to spend 20+ minutes making calls before your trip just to get an answer.
Fantastic experience: 5 star property and 5 star service! I found a location on VRBO that I wanted to book for the same day, but VRBO has a policy that does not allow you to book a reservation within 24 hours. I messaged the Turnkey rep through VRBO and got a response within the hour. We began email correspondence, and a quick phone call later, I was able to book the property directly through Turnkey! They were available via call and text throughout the weekend for any questions we had about WiFi and check in/out processes, and were exceptionally kind and responsive. 10/10 would recommend! Might start looking for properties through TurnKey directly from now on!

Negative experience: Offered no assistance or understanding for families that were stuck in the storm! Newer received phone call from management even though we were promised we would. Turnkey even charged us cleaning fee for property we never stayed in!

We always strive to make our non-refundable cancellation policy as clear as possible during any inquiry about the property, the booking process, and when signing the rental agreement. This is why we always make guests aware of trip insurance at those times as well, so you’re protected in the event of something like a snowstorm preventing you from traveling. Positive experience: The cabin was great for the snowy weekend. It did get cold upstairs, which nice they provided small heaters in the rooms. The sheets in the pull out couch seemed they needed to be washed, and found an old water bottle in the room. Would stay here again in the summer time since it’s so close to the lake.
Positive experience: We had a great experience with TurnKey. The house we rented was perfect for the size of our group. The house was clean and very well equipped with a large fenced in yard for the dogs. We had a few minor issues, but I messaged TurnKey to advise and they responded within 30 minutes. A local rep even came out to rectify the problem. We would definitely rent from TurnKey again.
Fantastic experience: What a lovely home! It was a perfect place for our family to spend Thanksgiving week in Tahoe. We felt so relaxed and comfortable and already miss being there. Fantastic experience: This house was beyond wonderful. Beautiful . Hot Tub was Relaxing and Wonderful even when the snow started to fall. The kids loved the pools temperature. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving. Plan to book again.
Positive experience: Online interface and access instructions excellent—property excellent—howvever extremely disappointed that we could not use the hot tub due to complicated electronics and no instructions—much time wasted texting back and forth multiple times trying to arrange for help with no resolution—really believe we should be given a partial refund. Also left a small ring behind and asked for help finding it—no reply yet.

Fantastic experience: Gorgeous, clean and spacious house. Host was very communicative and responsive, wouldn't hesitate to stay at another TurnKey rental property again!
Positive experience: House was very nice and very comfortable. In close proximity to dining out options and the lake. We had a very nice time. Only challenge was using the media at times....wifi would cut off, especially in the evening. But would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic experience: Stayed here for a bachelorette party in Tahoe. No complaints about the house. At first we were burning up without air but we ended up finding plenty of fans in the closets to keep the house cool. Spacious kitchen. And good bathrooms. Comfy bed in the master. Would recommend and will definitely be back!
Fantastic experience: This is a casual home in a great location. It has a nice fenced yard that has lots of seating, two hammocks, a bunch of rideable bikes, barbeque, and general home comforts. The house is tidy, with a well-stocked kitchen. It fit our needs perfectly. Location is a few miles from beaches and a few more from groceries. We had a good time. Air quality was iffy due to the fire in Yosemite, but we still had a great time. If you have any questions or concerns, Turnkey makes it easy to contact them and are quick to respond. Thanks!
Negative experience: We booked a vacation at South Lake Tahoe a week before the planned departure date. A few days later heavy fires raging in California made the whole area filled with smoke, and made it unsafe for being outdoors. When I reached out to the company to cancel 4 days before our departure day, I was confronted a blunt refusal, claiming that it was the "Act of God, " and is not the owners responsibility, so the cost of rental (almost $2000) is on us. I have never been treated this way by any other vacation rental place. And sure enough, in their contract, which spans for pages, it stated that they take no responsibility for any weather related damage or disaster, or anything at all for that matter. I would understand if we were already on vacation, and disaster stroke, but cancelling a few days before the trip should be accommodated by any travel agency. They advised me to file an insurance claim. I will but, needless to say, I will never rent from this company again, and want to caution other renters. If there is a disaster or any problem you'll not get your money back, and be treated with little consideration or concern. Update: The insurance turned to be another money grabbing scam, just like the TurnKey Vacation Rental. They refused to pay stating that the disaster was already in the area, when I made reservations, and therefore they are not responsible for it. I disputed the transaction through my bank, and, thankfully, the bank returned the money supporting my claim for unfair and extortionist company practices.

Fantastic experience: It was better then what I expected very secluded quiet and very nature like everything is with in driving distance no more the three to five miles lots of hiking water sports balloons fishing and casino Incase u feel lucky
Negative experience: We were overall satisfied with the property we stayed in and there were some processes that were easy and appreciated like being able to text with questions. However, I was disappointed with many steps of the process including the phone call prescreening and the amount I had to text with issues during our stay to include not enough linens for guests which was not followed up on nor handled until I called and it was really too late. For the price we paid I would have expected better service and amenities (issue with getting more linens specifically to even meet one bath towel per guest) at the property. Rather we felt nickled and dimed and as if big brother was watching with the prescreening.

Positive experience: Need more towels, as a family of five we had to do a load of laundry every night just to have towels to shower the next day, and the hot tub doesn't work very well, but other than that the place was very neat and clean and comfortable
