Fantastic experience: Quick fast service!

Fantastic experience: We received superb service from AAA. Last night our car would not start. The phone operator asked pertinent questions, and within less that 1/2 hour a service truck was there to help us. Turns out it was a bad battery. The mechanic Jeromy, was professional, and we were back on the road in a very short amount of time.

Negative experience: I called for assistance getting my motorcycle towed because of flat tire more than 4-hours ago and the dealership is now closed so they won't be able to repair the flat. Although the support staff is pleasant, they can't find a provider in Sarasota to tow my bike. I'm now stuck until tomorrow morning when this nightmare starts all over again. Very unprofessional service and the staff just doesn't seem to care...although they're polite which is of no help being nice if you're going to screw over your customers!

Negative experience: Been waiting hours and hours for a tow truck and just getting automated calls that they are too busy. This is the only reason we have AAA. Completely worthless. Find another option.

Fantastic experience: Great service. I came to get an IDP and was in and out in less than 5 minutes.

Negative experience: Most worthless membership to have. They wouldn't even tow my car after the hurricane, and they won't insure a used car (2008) valued currently at $50k because they say it's a luxury car that's worth over $200k if it was brand new.......insanity

Negative experience: Waited 5 hrs only to say they wouldn't be able to schedule an appointment until the next day.

Negative experience: While AAA has been helpful in the past, this recent time using them to tow my fiancé's car to the mechanic was horrible! They left the car in park instead of neutral so when they hoisted it up by the rear axel, the front wheels dragged across the pavement instead of rolled. Now the tires each have a bald spot from where it came in contact with the pavement and we need two new tires on top of the original problem with the car. AAA is being very slow with investigating the damage claim so it's taking longer to get the car from the mechanic, who has been great to provide us with the photos and even security footage from when the car was towed in to his lot as proof to the damage.

AAA is awesome, I came for a travel document and the Agent who assisted me was extraordinary, kind, courteous, quick in completing the job, I left the place very happy. Thank you AAA. AHH, as a AAA member I had a $12.00 discount.

Fantastic experience: Helpful, knowledgeable, equipped with great resources, lots of free help and stuff! I needed a detailed map of the Largo area so I called the Sarasota office. When I drove to their office, my map was waiting with my name on it. The friendly staff person was happy to give me a couple other helpful maps! This office is much larger than the previous one, convenient location, lots of light, and well staffed! The bathroom is pristine. I was thrilled to hear that my AAA coverage will now provide help if I am stranded by a problem with my bicycle! I was rescued from my own blunder quickly when I locked my keys in the car a couple years ago. My husband and I got swift help from AAA when his car died just as we were hurrying to the airport! Everything went so fast we made our plane! Outstanding!

Fantastic experience: AAA is a great place to call for homeowners or auto insurance. Awesome customer service! You can also get passport pictures and all kinds of travel information.

Negative experience: Road service was a sham! Mobile mechanic from AAA said my battery was dead, he could replace it at a cost $200 plus this and that cost added. I asked him if he could charge it for me to get to battery plus, 1 mile away. He charged my battery and said I was good t go. I only made a few blocks away before completely being broken down the second time. When I tried calling him back, his phone wasn’t excepting calls. I called AAA again and they would have to send a tow truck out which was a few blocks but would be 2 hours wait time and I was just a car length from the corner of a busy intersection!!!!!!! Here’s the point- my battery was purchased from AAA 2 years ago ( they have a 3 year guarantee). Their mobile mechanic knew the year the battery which he told me but didn’t replace it for free. He left me in a worse area- and even if I purchased a battery from him, he would have still be ripping me off when it was guaranteed!

Negative experience: Couldn't help me with anything even though we pay for the highest tier membership. They've gotten more and more obsolete and have reduced their services while keeping prices the same. STOP PAYING FOR MEMBERSHIP. Just get roadside assistance coverage from your insurance for a few extra dollars a month and let this company go out of business.

Fantastic experience: The staff was friendly and professional as soon as we opened the door. Their were several customers being helped at desks. We were helped immediately , offered beverages, and got our business completed rather quickly. My only irritation is that it was the second AAA of the day. We live in Venice, so we went to our branch first and, for the second and final time, walked in 1 customer at one desk being helped 2 others at their desks alone 1 one the phone and the front desk person. Long story short, no offer of help was told to leave info, and someone would call at a later date. Poorly run, Venice

Positive experience: I wish they had a human available to ask questions. Everything is automated. They had me climb up the flat bed to back the car down. See.s like an imsurance liability to me.

Negative experience: HORRIBLE SERVICE, UNPROFESSIONAL, THE EMERGENCY CALLS TAKE WAY TOO LONG!!! Call 911 instead.. at least they will provideprotection.. is my reimbursement check for my car being towed to a GLASS shop!?? Your driver never called and asked me for a unit #. Also never notified me that he couldn't find the correct place to leave my 2020 Mercedes-Benz. I might call lawyer. Your company should be ashamed and send me my check. I would gladly remove this and all other complaints that will je filed.

Positive experience: They were very short staffed and couldn't offer the usual things when doing my trip til -which was s bit disappointing.

Fantastic experience: The driver was polite nice and on time what time he got to me someone had already changed my tie but I still have problems even though I cancel he still showed up and help me what's the problem that I still had a curved I appreciate everything that he had done last night for me I just prayed cuz I thought I was stuck and I had to call again but I did not I want to thank the young man that came to help me last night I forgot his name but I appreciate everything that you have done

Negative experience: I've been a member since 2018 and have always enjoyed the peace of mind that AAA provides. This year I happened to find myself in situations where I needed my vehicle to be towed more than 50 miles. I do know my membership level allowed up to 4 tows per year and this year (unlike any year before), I happened to use all of it. Today I receive a letter from AAA saying they periodically review memberships, examine the types and frequency of road service requests and they've decided to not let me renew due to "disproportionate use of services". I called and they tell me this decision is final. So I have no say in this and I'm getting the boot for services I paid for??

Fantastic experience: AAA is one of the greatest memberships you can have. They will help you with any road issues whether it's running out of gas or getting locked out of your car or your car breaking down. I've been a member for decades and they're also great for planting trips and getting discounts in multiple places definitely pays for itself easily plus it's safer for you and your family if something does happen.

Negative experience: We called and were promised the man would come check our battery in car he even called and said he was running late then quite responding we had to call AAA back after 3 hours and were told the truck that checks batteries quite at 8 so we waited on a jump 8 hours later man shows up and wakes my daughter up at like 2am to jump car? No I'm not satisfied service sucked! Thank God we weren't on the side of the road

Fantastic experience: Convenient location and friendly staff for member services

Negative experience: I was stranded with a dead car battery and called AAA. I’ve never had to call them and I have a gold membership. I sat for two hours and finally got a hold of my dad to come jump me. When I canceled, the appointment time was another hour. So, I would have been sitting 3 hours in the dark, in the back of an isolated parking lot. I also never write a review, but if that would have been my mom or my grandma or my daughter, this would REALLY be horrible. DO BETTER!!

Negative experience: My car broke down on the side of the road at 3:30 and I put a tow request in at 3:35. Originally they said I would be picked up at 6:45 which I would have been ok with as long as I would get home. Then they said they would pick me up at 5:55 even better but 5:55 came and no truck was here then 6:45 came and still no truck. Now it’s currently 7:47 and there’s still no truck. So I canceled my request and now have to pay $175 to get towed.

Negative experience: I've been a AAA member since 1996 but will not sign up again.

Negative experience: Iv been a plus member for 3 years. Today iv been waiting for 4 hours to get a tow. I have yet to have a tech designated to me after my 1st designated decided he wouldn't be to me before he ended his day. That was 2 hours ago. I decided to call another tow company and they will be here in 20 minutes. What is the point of my AAA membership at this point?

Positive experience: AAA always gives great service however the pricing leaves a lot to be desired. Found much better insurance rates elsewhere.

Negative experience: I was on my way home from work last night I had a flat tire call AAA they told me it would be 2 to 3 hours before someone could get out there I called another company they were out in 10 minutes finish the tire changing and had me on my way and AAA showed up too late it was a dark late Road I was on and I was scared to be by myself they did not reassure me I will cancel my membership

Fantastic experience: I haven't actually taken the trip that Joe Rowe helped put together for me, but the stress of doing it myself was taken over by a very kind and patient expert. Negative experience: Idk who I just spoke to but this guy had a tough time understanding that we are moving to florida, purchasing a new vehicle and will be transferring the registration a vehicle already insured under triple A in a different state! A simple quote was all I needed and this idiot couldn't manage it!

Fantastic experience: Went in for maps for upcoming trips planned to Alaska and Hawaii. Friendly and had what we needed.

Negative experience: We have been AAA members for 44 years. After our recent experience we are unlikely to renew. Our car quit at about 5 pm and we managed to coast it onto a tiny median in the middle of Macintosh road. Our first call to the AAA Sarasota number was at approximately 5:30 pm. The AAA associate informed me that the towing company would be Bass who were 3 miles away, so "the wait should be quick." He then attempted to convince me to allow Bass to take care of repairing the car, which I found to be inappropriate., I wanted the car to taken to my regular repair facility which was even closer. After taking the details he informed me that the wait would be a maximum if 90 minutes. I waited at the car until 9:00 PM! During that time I spoke to three AAA associates. The first (the first person I had spoken to originally) told me that the driver was scheduled to be with me in 30 minutes. The second could not figure out what had happened, but she assured me that she was going to get a driver to me without any further delay. The third, at 9 pm, who was some kind of supervisor, determined that the service request was still open - (had not yet been allocated to anyone.) She gave me three alternatives - call an independent towing company and later apply for a refund from AAA. Or continue to wait, although she could provide no idea how long the wait would be. Or leave the car and the keys, and she would record it as an unattended pickup. She assured me that this was done all the time. So, I did that and the following morning I drove to the location, to find that the car was still there So another call to AAA, this one as a new service request. I found that they were aware of the existing request, and they promised that Bass Towing would be there in 90 minutes, which actually happened., a total response time of about 16 hours1!

Negative experience: I'm a gold plus member been since 2007 and I get a road side service a call for a flat at 2:30@m here it is 5:51 and still sitting...my ETA was 3:50 and the driver claims he couldnt find me when he had my phone number lack of communication...poor service that's for sure

Fantastic experience: First time visiting this location. Friendly staff , thanks you for patience in waiting in line .they multi task and assist several people at once so keeps line going. My wish list would be that they offer more gift cards where you can specify an amount. 99.9% were all ones that started at $25 a few were at $15. I came in with the intentions of spending several hundred dollars on. Gift cards in increments of $20. To save time running around to different stores. I was only able to buy one GC and had to run around after. No fault of the staff. Its just a suggestion. Ill definitely come here for some banking needs. They had some decent rates and offer alot of products. I forget that AAA has more to offer than just towing, gas , trip and travel etc.

Negative experience: Called for a tow down the street and waited 5 hours for service. I am now looking for another towing service and will just pay out of pocket. I wonder if they’ll discount me my triple A membership bill

Negative experience: Called AAA to assist with a battery problem. After 45 minutes or so a guy arrived . No problem so far .... I realize he has very few , even basic tools. He states "he just got out of prison " as if this compensates for lack of knowledge or equipment . The AAA convict proceeds to tell me i need to purchase a new battery but on a positive side of things he sates he can install one for me and it comes with 3 year guarantee . At this point i don't have much choice not that he impresses me with his work credentials or anything else for that matter . The lack of basic tools makes the installation process difficult for him , but as much as I appreciate his effort that is not what i called AAA for. He struggles and despite me voicing my reservations in regards to workmanship he assures me it will be fine. Two months later the battery is gone as it was not installed properly ( diagnosis of AAA technician dispatched here last week. He states I need a new battery ( I actually stated that in my service request to AAA ). I explained to him that this battery was installed by AAA and is guaranteed for 3 years so please go ahead and put in a new one . He states no problem and offers to call me when he is done . 30 minutes later I go to check on him and .....he is gone . My car door , the hood and all else is open and the guy has vanished . My subsequent calls to AAA go no where ...I mean no one shows up despite the fact they were allegedly dispatched. I contacted AAA again this AM . and was told that my membership just expired and they will not dispatch another technician until i renew my membership regardless of the fact the battery was installed incorrectly and it has 3 year guarantee. Clearly , I'm reluctant to purchase a promise on which AAA does not deliver. Imagine this was my or your daughter stranded on a rural road going through this .... This picture paints a picture that is worth not one 1000 but million words. Buyer be aware .... AAA is not what is used to be .

Negative experience: Office staff was seriously NOT helpful. For people who have had AAA roadside protection as well as auto and home insurance for over 25 years, these people refused to take the time to answer questions about a new policy.

Negative experience: Last year when I was shopping for insurance I was quoted $1,000 less than the other companies were. Of course I took the policy. Once I canceled my old one and sent in my premium it was $1,000 more than they quoted me. Because the agent put down the wrong address. I of course had to absorb that extra $1,000. This year I sent my payment to the north office instead of the South office. Guess what my insurance was canceled. Nobody could help me nobody could stick up for me nothing I could do. I have the bank statement saying the money was taking out of the account and the date nobody was willing to go to bat for me. You do need an agent that is going to back you and AAA is not them

After waiting so long, I got RN's and CNA from my unit and we all fixed my flat together so I could get home safe. Horrible service, I would rather pay my coworker than triple A. Fantastic experience: Exceptional customer service by Tracey Mattiello from Sarasota AAA. She spent all the time needed to make sure I got what I needed for my insurance policy. Probably that was the best customer service experience I have received over the phone for as long as I could remember.

Positive experience: Trying to call them was ridiculously long. Thankfully I wasn't in a huge accident. Driver arrived shortly after I called and somewhat fixed my car.

Fantastic experience: AAA branches are just wonderful in every way, and this one is truly exceptional! We were greeted by a super nice lady at the front counter, who got us signed in. Phillis in travel notarized some papers for us. She was exceptionally nice. The next time we travel, we will come and see her. In short, we really like this AAA office a lot!

Negative experience: TripleAAA Plus is not worth the extra money. My car broke down. I called it took 2.5 hours for them to come and get me. First driver was called away for an emergency. 2nd driver assigned came an hour or so later. Why have Emergency Assistance? Why pay extra? I guess I don't have enough money to pay for Premium service. Maybe that would be better?

Negative experience: I put in a service request to be towed, the wait time was three hours. I waited that time and received a call that a truck was on its way just at the last second of the three hour wait. Forty minutes passes still no truck!! I look at the app for a status update, Because it had been so long to find out they pushed me back another three hours. I called to get better service and answers their hold times to talk to the 1st rep was 10 mins just for them to send me to a manager was another 5-7 mins. I had to call three times for them to still not provide me an answer as to when someone was coming! I ended up waiting until 12am the next day for someone tow me. I would like to add I have a new born!! I am glad I made arrangements for someone to pick her as soon as the car broke down before calling AAA ACG south for towing services contracted with BASS in the Sarasota area who all have failed me today. This is over a total of 13 hours of being stranded!! To be fair AAA only made me wait 7 of those. Suggestions get more contracts in the Sarasota area ACG south !!! Contracting with only one company is not going to provide Adequate services in this area! If I could rate today’s experience I wouldn’t have even given you a one star review but I had to be default in order to advise of your poor services

Negative experience: Went to AAA for my free passport photos ... these were rejected by the government. I now have to go elsewhere for my passport photos AND I now in danger on not getting my passport in time for my planned travels. DON'T TRUST THEM TO TAKE YOUR PASSPORT PHOTOS. They obviously don't know what they are doing.
