Negative experience: Warning! The Toms River Repair Shop charged me over $3100 to fix my car and I walked out with the same problem. It was the transmission which they didn't check. If they had done a test drive before and after, they would have know. They refused to refund my bill and berated me. Justice is served though, the credit card company gave me a full refund. This AAA location should be shut down for their unconscionable actions.

Fantastic experience: Very quick turnaround. Brakes replaced and oil changed in less than a couple of hours on a Friday afternoon.

Negative experience: Poor work. Always have to bring the car back to fix what they did. I mean 4-5 times for the same issue. Replaced parts that were already new. Manager is never available to discuss the problem.

Negative experience: PLEASE AVOID THIS LOCATION!! Had my car for over a month and they just seem to have tried to play games and lie the entire experience. They were supposed to compensate me for taking so long but never did. Now after my car has broke down again that i find out they did such a horrible job that it caused more unnecessary damage to my vehicle. I have reached out to corporate UPDATE: It's been weeks since I've heard anything. Absolutely unprofessional and incompetent business practices.

Fantastic experience: Since it's been a few days, unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the gentleman who helped my mom and me. All I can say is he has a tattoo of grapes on his left arm (beautiful work, btw). Anyway, he was so good. Friendly, incredibly helpful, and always attention and wonderful. I would 100% recommend this place for road trip planning. They give you the route, time, places along the way for sleeping and eating, and so much more. All printed tailored for you. What a great experience.

Negative experience: The true measure of a business is how they handle a bad situation. I had tires installed and was informed I needed brakes as well. I authorized the work and waited longer for the additional work which was expected. HOWEVER when I was driving the car home the right front tire was only at 21 psi (34 is correct) and I couldn't call anyone as all my bloothtooth data was disconnected. I pulled over, called and returned to the facilty to white knuckled to find a mechanic waiting for me, no customer service people on sight. After a few minutes I saw the mechanic and the cashier speaking and the cashier came to me with my key. He said "your tire pressure was reset, you should be fine now" , handed me the key and walked away. Zero explanation, zero apologies, zero interaction from the sales/customer service side and 3 days later zero follow up. Poorly done. Please consider the facts here before choosing this facility.

Fantastic experience: Tyler was very understanding and compassionate. Very friendly atmosphere and nice waiting room were I was able to wait and not have to be driven back and forth. They also have great new plans for the unexpected cost of repairs.

Negative experience: Many years a customer of AAA but very disappointed that on June 11 I needed to have my battery replaced at my home. I couldn't believe they said they had NO batteries. As I was expressing my disappointment with the woman employee on the phone she HUNG UP ON ME. I have reported this incident to AAA Headquarters on her rude service.

Fantastic experience: Prices were very reasonable. The facility was clean and well lit. The employees were friendly. They have free coffee and bottled water for members waiting for car repairs. It is located on a major East/West Road. This location is open Monday - Saturday. They have a large parking lot with a decent amount of Handicapped Parking spaces

Negative experience: I called in and expressed that I was not able to locate the wheel lock in my car and if I could get assistance in getting my current wheels removed and brakes replaced. I was told to bring the car in “today” so that they can take a look, and if they can do it, both services can be provided. I explained the condition of the car and that I wanted to be sure as it's not safest to drive down the road but I got the vehicle to them. I waited 2 hours and called in, I spoke with Tyler. He was very rude for no reason, I was told to bring my car in, and he said “We didn't tell you or make you do anything”… I don't have time for this attitude, if you don't have time for the car just say so, and keep your negative attitude to yourself. Am a paying customer, and I didn't ask you to do anything for free, so if I'm showing respect why be so negative?

Negative experience: Very bad service they give you a good price first and then change the price and never responded just they take out the money o mee put 1 start be becouse they no let me write anything if I don't put start so funny this they take me out 1,000 dollar just for 4 days very carefully with that they terrible

Negative experience: I had my truck towed there because I wanted to have battery service and they did not have battery service in Ocean County. The battery that was in my truck was put in my truck by the battery service by AAA in August. So when my truck was towed in to the car center they said I needed a new battery and they said I also needed an alternator. They said they would not warranty the battery because the alternator had killed the battery. The next thing he told me was if I let them put the alternator in then they would warranty the battery I said do I have a choice? He said no not really so I let them do the battery and they did the alternator. I got the truck home and the next day it wouldn't start! Yes, it is an older vehicle but they should still know what they're doing! When I called to tell them what had happened they said they were sorry And I should bring it back. They were the ones that said the truck needed an alternator and a battery. So now I should bring it back? Nightmare!

The tech, Tyler who originally took my call and set up my car repair appointment was very professional and courteous as well. AAA Car Care did an excellent job replacing my brakes and sway bar links. Negative experience: Zero stars would be better suited. Use this AAA if you would like to get your car permanently destroyed. I used the service in November and I am still trying to rebuild my engine. On top of just horrific knowledge of cars, they are very rude. PLEASE use any other company and avoid the disaster that I am still experiencing.

Negative experience: DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE I brought my car here out of convenience because it was the closest location to where I broke down - huge mistake. My car needed hose replacement, coolant flush and thermostat replacement. Picked the car up, then broke down AGAIN 4 days later. After bringing it back to a different mechanic, they explained that whatever AAA did caused the coolant to mix with oil, resulting in a blown head gasket. Their insurance company is now involved and it has become a massive headache. Save yourself the time and pain and DO NOT GO HERE

Fantastic experience: The staff make you feel so welcomed from the moment you step into this establishment. They are very efficient, and knowledgeable and personable. I don't have a membership there, I call and walk in each time and have never felt anything but kind prompt assistance. My last visit a week ago was to figure out if I had a leak in my tire. I was putting air in every three days for a little over the last week or so. The mechanic was so patient and thorough. It was a case he hadn't seen in over a decade as the issue was so minute all the different tricks and it wasn't found. At the end there was no charge for all the 'trouble', (my words). Happy to say over a week later, no tire pressure alert has returned either ! They go above and beyond to make sure the job is done correctly and you leave with a smile. That's my experience.

Negative experience: Don't take your car here for repairs. The service manager and the other service employees except the techs are horrible people to deal with. Because of them I am going to cancel my AAA membership.

Negative experience: DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE FOR REPAIRS!! I’ve taken my car to other AAA locations for servicing and had no problems, nor ever felt like I was deceived. Not at this AAA location. Brought my car in for an oil change and to check brakes that were stuttering. They gave me an oil change and then came back with $1700 of recommendation things that had nothing to do with my brakes. Even stating they couldn’t figure out what was up with the brakes. I declined all of it except two filters. When I was paying, they gave me the itemized list of what the $1700 would have been for and they added in things like a tire rotation service warranty that they offered as a package. They were throwing things in that were not necessary at all, and it wouldn’t have even fixed the problem I came in for! Thank the lord I declined. I took my car to another shop in the area and they actually fixed the problem and didn’t try to make me pay for something I didn’t want. Oh! And AAA, who did my oil change, also failed to mention my dipstick was broken. The other shop took care of that. Unacceptable. I will never go this location again and I’m not renewing my membership with AAA. I used to find it to be a value, but no longer. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!! UPDATE: I responded to AAA from their response to this comment below. They never got back to me over a month later. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!

Positive experience: They do good honest work in a timely fashion (a bit expensive); however, I always find little things that were overlooked: Didn't top off coolant reservoir one time, didn't change the next oil change sticker another time and didn't reset the clock this time which is odd since the work was for a brake problem not electrical. It's a good thing I'm very adept to setting all types automobile clocks without even ever referring to the owner's manual.

Negative experience: Vehicle towed to AAA..after throwing a serpentine belt due to seized up altenator..Engine wouldn't start and was told it jumped timing and ruined the engine..Me being a bit skeptical had the vehicle towed to a different shop ,the mechanic there actually put a scan tool on it and found a bad cam sensor..The blown belt cut the wires to the cam sensor AAA,good for tires and brakes...Don't ever let them play with the engine...

Negative experience: My car broke down close by as a AAA member I had it towed to the closest facility. They completed the work took several days sat for like 3 days before it was looked at. Once repairs were completed picked it up and 2 weeks later check engine light came on showing same codes as what was supposed to have been fixed. The car broke down again towed back for them to fix what they should have last time and they tried to charge another $264.00 for a $30 part saying they were only charging me for the part no repairs were authorized and said I would be picking up the car upon picking it up they made repairs and started to argue before comping the service. Now 3 days after picking it up the second time car dies again this time the alternator that they replaced failed. Upon calling they are like well it should be under warranty but will have to check with manager and call back. Poor service using poor quality parts cut into OEM wires with no explanation. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY over priced and poor customer service!

I have been a customer at this location for several years, and have never been disappointed...professional, clean, quick service, reasonably priced. They never try to push products on me that I don't need, always explain services needed/completed on my vehicle, and provide me with a written summation of things done to my vehicle along with potential future needs so I can plan. Positive experience: Only getting 4 stars for now. 4 new tires to be purchased, balanced and mounted. Matched Tire Rack price and gave me a small AAA member discount. Completed work quickly while I waited. So far so good. Then...... Four days later one tire is nearly totally flat. Leaking at rim? Valve? Took it back today. We'll see if they get it done right the 2nd time.

Fantastic experience: Good service, polite and friendly service people. Less than dealer prices. At AAA you can receive assistance with planning individual or family vacations. The AAA agents are very knowledgeable. It is a clean establishment. Complementary cold water, and coffee. A vending machine with okay snacks. The TV looses cable connection, but when they pay the bill on time it's good reception.

They don’t push for things my car doesn’t need. I appreciate that. I have been to other places and they never really solved the problem. (STUNADS)

Negative experience: Ive taken my car here multiple times and Ive never been satisfied with their quotes. Theyre constantly trying to sell me on things I dont need. I forget the specifics one time but they told me that what I needed couldnt be done unless I did something else and it was going to be over 2 grand. I said no way, give me my car back. The guy said wait, hold on, let me see if we can get around this. Sure enough, he came back with a more reasonable quote. That was last year, 2020. Now this time all I need is a headlight lens and I get it, they arent sold without the whole unit. But if i tell you I need a piece of plastic to cover my headlight and you call me back and tell me that it'll be $700, you wasted your time even calling me. That price tells me that you did NOTHING to try and actually help me and have no problem ripping me off. Despite the fact that I am a AAA member and have been there multiple times in the last year alone. And every single time I have had a bad experience. If you can avoid this place, you absolutely should. They are not honest people.

Negative experience: Went there today to get a 6 month old AAA battery replaced and the guy at the desk told me if you don’t have a receipt, I can’t replace it. Can’t use my member ID to look up the purchase date? No. You would have to call AAA to come out and replace it. Thanks for wasting my time.
