Fantastic experience: I cannot express enough how amazing my experience was with Lara at Bridal Connection. She took the time to explain the different dress styles and silhouettes. Her knowledge and passion truly shined, as the second dress she showed me was my Yes Dress! 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience: After prom dress shopping at a couple large, popular stores in the metro, we found the perfect dress at Bridal Connection. Selection is smaller, but all the dresses were gorgeous and on-trend. Pricing was comparable or cheaper than those larger stores. Was also happy they have a designer that has dresses made in the USA, so they were able to special order without the shipping concerns the other stores had.

Fantastic experience: Great staff, such a great selection. Made me feel so beautiful, more than happy to work with the customer. Would definitely recommend, good prices too!

Fantastic experience: After having a pretty bad experience at the first shop I ever went to, I decided to start over at a new shop! Lara was so great helping me trying on ALL the styles because I truly had no idea what I liked or what looked good on me. I left my first appointment feeling so much more confident I would find a dress! I came back a few weeks later and decided to try on my previous favorites and a few others and said YES to the dress’ I truly was not expecting to find one so fast but am so excited and thankful for the help i received! After saying yes all the girls in the shop and the other shoppers there congratulated me and it just was a great experience!!

Fantastic experience: Kelly was an absolute delight to work with! From the moment we entered all the staff welcomed us and were very friendly. I loved that Kelly listened to exactly what I wanted but also suggested other dresses to try on. She helped me find exactly what I wanted and made the saying yes part very easy! While there we also met with the owner and she was very friendly and knowledgeable as we also inquired about tuxes and other wedding details.

Fantastic experience: Best experience I have had!! Super friendly and personal staff!! Found my dress for the best price!! I left with more than I thought I could afford!! I loved the experience and had the best time!!

Fantastic experience: I am so so pleased with the team at Bridal Connection! I had a few ideas of what I wanted for my wedding dress, and with this being the first boutique I had visited, I was not exactly sure what to expect. I was more than satisfied with the service, and with Lara’s expertise I was able to find my absolute dream dress so quickly! I could not be happier with the process and I am so excited to get married to the perfect guy in the perfect dress! :)

Negative experience: The location was strange and difficult to find. The inside of the store was very outdated, and the experience of saying yes was really strange. They offer you a champagne glass and a bottle of Welchs Sparkling strawberry wine after agreeing to spend over $1,000 on a dress. They then open the bottle so you either have to drink it there or not drink it at all. They then rushed us out of the store. They had a good selection of size ranges and attendant I had was fine, but when I went to pick up my dress it was so large it needed $500+ worth of alterations done to it. I didn’t lose any weight between ordering the dress and taking it to my first fitting. It is so ill fitting that it will need at least 3 different fittings appointments before it is done. I don’t even know if it will end up looking like the dress I ordered. I would not recommend this bridal store, I honestly wish I had just picked a different dress from a different bridal store as this has been such a headache to deal with.

Fantastic experience: Went with my sisters for a sale. We pulled all the dresses her size we could find, threw her in a room, and started try on. A few dresses in we received some help and really enjoyed our time spent in the store. Great experience, & my sister even found a wedding dress as well as a veil for an amazing price!

Fantastic experience: I worked with Christina and she was phenomenal! I thought i’d already found my dress at a previous bridal shop but Christina really opened my eyes to looking at some different styles and price ranges. She was attentive, kind, funny and beyond helpful. We had practically the whole store to ourselves and she was really meticulous in picking dresses she thought I’d like based on what I’d told her. I ended up getting my dream dress for around $500 and I would have never been able to do that anywhere else. 10/10 would recommend to all my friends! Thanks Christina!

Fantastic experience: HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Bridal Connection. I had gone to several shops before. I live in Florida but am from Iowa and from the moment I walked in I felt like this shop was like no other shops I had been to before. My name was on the door, she had dresses lined up for what I had asked for, and we got right to it. My sister and I cried when I came out in the one. They were so kind to provide us with champagne and a picture under their sign. Thank you Bridal Connection!

Fantastic experience: I had an absolute amazing experience because of payge!!!! She was so welcoming from the moment I walked in the door! She made me feel so comfortable and excited and calmed all my nerves since I had never been shopping before for a dress. Thanks to Payge I walked out with a dress for my wedding and I couldn’t be more excited. I felt absolutely beautiful. Once she put the vail on it was a moment I won’t ever forget. Thanks Payge for the amazing experience at bridal connections!

Negative experience: Not pleased. After some miscommunication and not wanting to pay the cancellation fee, we kept the appointment and arrived on time. After explaining that we didn’t intend to buy a wedding dress (we were trying to be honest and said one was already purchased) but wanted to look at bridesmaids dresses, and browse the wedding dresses, the owner quickly told us we would have to pay the fee anyway. She even went as far as to tell us that we couldn’t try on dresses. If you’re going to book an appointment here, just be aware that you will be charged if you cancel without a 48 hour notice, no matter the circumstances— and maybe don’t be so honest. In the end, it was frustrating to us and she didn’t seem understanding or gracious. Sadly, she lost our business, our recommendation and our good review.

Fantastic experience: My sister in law had an appointment today and it went absolutely flawlessly!! We LOVED it and all the dresses that were picked for her were absolutely perfect! Highly recommend!

Negative experience: ***Edit**** The owners response saying we wanted to cancel the appointment when we arrived is not entirely accurate. We were honest about having purchased a dress elsewhere and if she wouldn’t charge us we could give our appointment to someone else OR we were happy to keep the appointment to look at wedding party dresses and the bride said she would even try on other dresses to see if there was one there she liked better. When the bride asked if she could still keep appointment and try on dresses the owner said “No. You aren’t serious about it.” She wasn’t kind, or gracious, or understanding. We went in with full honesty and good faith and got charged for it. If she had said that it was $25-$50 for an appointment whether you kept it, cancelled it, or didn’t buy anything even that would be understandable but we were charged a cancellation fee when we did not cancel. Short story: Very disappointing service and unprofessional conduct. DO NOT RECOMMEND. We explained that we had made a completely separate trip for this appointment, because THEY cancelled our original appointment, and that due to their cancelation we went to a different shop and found a dress. We still went to Bridal Connections and were still willing to keep the appointment BUT WAS CHARGED A CANCELLATION FEE, when the owner found out another dress had been found by the bride. Long Story: Completely unprofessional. Appointment was made on 5/4 for a bridal dress shopping on 5/30 at 10am. Due to living over an hour away, multiple other appointments were also made at other shops for 5/30 in the afternoon. On 5/20 Bridal connections called saying that they made an error and booked the appointment when the shop was not even open and asked that it be moved to the following day 5/31 at 11am. This was inconvenient due to distance but understanding accidents happen, we happily took the new appointment. However, at one of the other shops a dress was found on clearance and bought. Immediately called Bridal Connection to ask if we could cancel but was told a $50 fee would be charged. Understanding that it was shorter notice, we still went to Bridal Connection the next day. When we arrived we said we had found a dress the previous day but said we would be open to look around and even try on dresses with the possibility of finding a better dress or we could leave so someone else who didn’t have a dress could come in and try them on. The owner said that we would still be charged the $50 even though we were willing to keep the appointment. We explained that originally we had hoped to go to her shop prior to all the others but that it was Bridal Connection’s mistake that lead us to go to different shops first and find a dress. The owner continually said she needed to charge the money because she didn’t have enough money “for bringing in staff and her overhead.” We explained that we had made a completely separate trip for this appointment and were still willing to keep the it BUT WAS STILL CHARGED A CANCELLATION FEE! Thankfully she only gouged us $25 instead of $50 but it was still completely unprofessional and other brides should be warned.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience here! This was my first wedding dress shopping experience and I found a dress in one appointment. Payge was the stylist who helped me and she was extremely knowledgeable. She was very kind and understanding when it came to what I was looking for in a dress. I highly recommend this shop.

Negative experience: I went shopping on 4/6 and this was the first store I tried on dresses. My stylist, Paige was incredible! I felt as if the “plus size” section (I am a size 14) was very limiting on options which didn’t leave a good taste in my mouth. Paige was very reassuring and took amazing care of me when voicing my concerns. Towards the end of my appointment the owner came over and made it seem like Paige was unsure of what she was doing which was incredibly frustrating because Paige had taken such great care of me. Needless to say, this added to the bad taste in my mouth and I didn’t end up buying my dress there. I also did the “mimosa for breakfast” package, to which we were given cookies and cupcakes that had Christmas frosting on them. I was truly disappointed with my experience at Bridal Connection.

Our consultant was the owner, she talked and listened to Lawson about style and what she wanted. It's PERFECT and BEAUTIFUL!! I appreciate that they worked with me on payments. There were a couple of times that I had to postpone payment until I got my check, they were completely accommodating and understanding!

In just 2 weeks before the wedding Christine and Paige stayed late to help us both find the perfect dress within our budget, and Berni came in on her day off to alter and hem both of our dresses in time for the big day! Positive experience: The actual experiencing of trying on dresses was wonderful! The stylist was great at choosing dresses based on my preferences and also choosing ones that would push me out of my comfort zone. However, there was a lot of confusion about when my dress and veil would be shipped and when I picked it up there was a small stain.

Negative experience: My aunt had an appointment here to get fitted for a tux for the wedding. It was clearly stated that there were two brides and yet only the bride that had previously picked out her dress from bridal connections was being referred to as the bride. When we arrived we expected to have the experience any bride would get when shopping for a wedding outfit, regardless if she was wearing a dress or a tux. What does it matter, it’s 2023. Anyway, the whole point was to try on tuxes but we arrived and only were able to look at a book and they did not have anything for her to try on. At the end of the day I hope that they become more inclusive in the fact that regardless of what kind of bride you are you should receive the same treatment.

Fantastic experience: My year-long relationship with Bridal Connection was an absolute blast. I first met Celina who helped me pick out my dress around July 2022 and I think it was the 3rd dress that I fell in love with instantly! Celina was so kind and attentive to my budget and style preferences. Christina also played a huge part in helping me find my detachable sleeves and making sure all alterations went smoothly. Bernie made those alterations come to life and the dress fits perfectly. I’m so excited to walk down the aisle in my dress thanks to these folks!!!

Positive experience: Not a great amount of larger dresses. The sales gals were absolutely fantastic. Very helpful and kind. Much better than a few other stores I visited.

Negative experience: Please stay away from this place. The service we received after we payed for the dress was absolutely awful. This was the first bridal shop we visited. They didn’t have the dress we wanted, but could order one we liked online. After going to a few more stores, we ended up ordering from Bridal Connections. We didn’t go back to the store to place the order, we just called and they took the card over the phone. We were shocked when they asked for a 10-15% tip. Mind you, the dress we purchased was $2500 This was absolutely ridiculous considering they didn’t even have the dress, they were just ordering it online. We weren’t even upset at this point, we were just happy we got the dress. A few weeks later, the dress came in. No one informed us that it arrived, which would have been nice since we needed to start alterations. We called one day to see if it had arrived and it did. We went to the store to try on the dress and they hadn’t even steamed it when we got there. It was all wrinkled, like it had just come out of the box. We decided to leave it there because we were still waiting on some lace to arrive. Again, they never called when the lace arrived. With the poor treatment I received, I decided to take my dress and find an outside seamstress to do alterations. I called to let them know that I would be there to get my dress and the lace. When I got there, the dress was not ready. They still hadn’t steamed it. It seemed like they just didn’t care about my $2500 dress. When I got the dress, they didn’t even give me a garment bag. I have purchased much cheaper prom dresses in the past where the store will provide a garment bag with a zipper in order to keep the dress from wrinkling. Instead, this store handed me my $2500 wedding dress in a pink “garbage bag.” It was a cheap plastic bag that my dress was thrown into. It was an absolutely awful experience and I really wish I hadn’t ordered from here. If you can, don’t go here. The service once we paid was awful and we felt mistreated. I would recommend Schaffer’s in West Des Moines.

Negative experience: When my sister visited this store for the first time we were overwhelmed with how welcomed we felt at the front desk on Saturday. They got us in right away with no appointment and she got right into prom dress shopping. The young lady who helped us was great and was being very helpful. My sister found THE ONE and we left her dress there to be altered. Then our experience went down hill. We then came back a couple weeks later to try the dress on and see if everything fit well. They first tried texting the day before her alteration appointment to reschedule her. We could not make that work because we live 3 hours away. So we simply texted them backing letting them know the short notice wouldn't work for us as we already planned to make a special trip down for the alteration appointment and that they shouldn't have scheduled us that day knowing the seamstress only works on Saturdays. When we arrived for our appointment on Friday and tried the dress on we had no words. They had put pink buttons on the bustle instead of CLEAR like we had asked, and they didn't verify or contact the person who is going to be wearing the dress to see if that was okay with her. She brought the heels that she was going to be wearing and the dress was short. Wasn't much you could do about the length so we had to buy her new shoes to wear that were shorter. We had to leave the dress there once again for them to re-do the buttons. I had asked to speak to the manager and was told she was not there. The lady who helped me Monday evening was very rude and not sorry at all, she kept trying to turn the blame onto us for not rescheduling. She didn't understand the frustrations I had and kept trying to cut me off while I was talking. Very frustrating that my mother paid a lot for the dress and a lot for alterations and the only thing that was right on the alterations were the strap. Good experience until the alterations and if we would have known it would've been like this we would've had our grandmother do it but thought that since they could do it at the store it would be much more convenient.

Fantastic experience: We purchased our daughters prom dress from Bridal Connection. Excellent service as always and an amazing selection of dresses. This is our 4th prom dress from Bridal Connection and will continue to support their business!

Negative experience: They say to order 2 or 3x your size but other weddings I have been in and gone to other bridal shops don't do that. All of our bridesmaid dresses had to be taken in tremendously. One of the bridesmaid actually called back and asked them to size down her dress because she wasn't comfortable ordering her dress in the size they chose.. Thankfully, we went to a local lady we knew to do it so it didn't cost an arm and a leg. My advice is if you are choosing Bridal Connection for wedding shopping, do not size up 2x your size and trust your gut on your size.

Negative experience: They should tell you that their policy is no refunds or exchanges when making a purchase. My wife had me purchase an item to see if it matched her dress at home. It didn't. Too bad. We tried too support the small local business guy and got burned.

Fantastic experience: I went to a bridal show back last September by myself as my fiancé didn't want to go with me. Lol. I was walking around like a dork and the owner Lara caught my eye. Asked if I had my dress yet and I didn't. She set up my appointment a week from that day. My mom, oldest son and I met with Tammy who was absolutely amazing!! My mom and I picked out 4 dresses and I thought I had the winner until we picked the most random one that I would have never thought about. We all fell in love and I mean all of us, Tammy and Lara included. I have since went back to try it on and just had my final alteration appointment with Lara. She was amazing. I felt so great in my dress and knowing we have to make minimal changes. Also just her great energy with everything!! Thank you everyone for all your help! I can't wait til October for my wedding and Berni I still think you could do the tweeking on my arms! ;-) lol Kristina D

Fantastic experience: Choosing a wedding gown is sometimes difficult; however, the staff at Bridal Connection are wonderful. My family and I had a great experience choosing the dress and the alterations process was super easy. They were so patient with me and willing to help me find just the right dress. I would definitely recommend this bridal shop!

Fantastic experience: This review is late from when I was in (May) but so well deserved. Bridal Connection is a great bridal store regardless of size, but if you are plus size and wondering if a place will have enough in your size to get the full experience, GO HERE! Celina is FANTASTIC. She is so knowledgeable and takes the time to get to know what interests you about a dress. She helped me from day 1 to order the dress of my dreams that I saw online, to getting me into the fitting room to try things out of my comfort zone and ended up liking more than I thought I did. She listened to my input and if I was sure I didn't like a feature about a dress, she put it back and didn't bring me any dresses with that feature. All of the other staff I interacted with as well were all kind and supportive and made me feel great during my appointments. My MOH even said she would come back when it's her time because of Celina. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Fantastic experience: I walked in this afternoon to try on my suit and get any needed adjustments. They were booked up for the rest of the day but they made time for me. Sofia and Mandi were working at the time, they were extremely kind and helpful, Sofia did a great job checking measurements and good thing she did because I definitely needed some changes. Thank you for helping me not look like a grandpa at my best friends wedding!

Fantastic experience: After so many stores, and so many dresses, I stopped by Bridal Connection. I was met by Celina who took time to listen to what I liked, and my budget. While I did not try on many dresses there, I found one and fell in love the first time I saw it! After turning to my family and saying that this one could be it, i wanting to sleep on the decision before I made it. That is the only regret I have with it! I wish I would have said yes that day instead of a couple days later! Celina was a tremendous help who respected my budget and my time, and made the process of looking for a dress full of laughter, fun, and easy! I would recommend going not just to see the dresses they have, but also Celina!

Fantastic experience: Finding my dress was such a fun experience! There were a few communication challenges at first but the manager handled everything beautifully and has paid careful attention to all the intricate details involved in bringing home the perfect dress :)

Fantastic experience: Bridal Connection is AMAZING! They have made this stressful experience a breeze from day one! I bought my dress here, got all of my alterations done here, bought bridesmaids dresses, and rented tuxes! Everything was perfect! Celina is exceptional at her job! She made sure my entire bridal party was taken care of as well as ensuring that all of my wishes were accounted for. Celina is flexible, hard working, knowledgeable, and many other great things! The owner Lara checks in often to ensure everything is going smoothly. Berne, the alterations gal, is amazing and does fabulous work! I highly recommend spending the extra money to get alterations done here! They will make sure that everything is absolutely perfect! I can’t recommend Bridal Connection more! Love, love, love them! I will recommend them to anybody and everybody I know!

Fantastic experience: I think this is the BEST place to find a wedding dress in the Des Moines metro. We worked with Selena to find my sister the perfect dress. She is so kind and knows her stuff. You will be in great hands with anyone at this botique.

She is honest, hard working and so knowledgeable! She is SUPER fast with her communication and I could not have asked for a better person! Everyone that I have come in contact with here has been super wonderful and they deserve all the recognition! Positive experience: I stumbled upon Bridal Connection at the Des Moines wedding show. They were handing out scratch off coupons, and I thought, why not go in? I made the appointment, and was placed with Tammy, who was wonderful and very sweet. I gave them my “budget” not really even knowing what my true one would being as I was just starting my wedding planning. I fell in love with my Pollardi dress the second I put it on. The ordering and the receiving of my dress was accurate with the time frame. Alterations was simple, and the seamstress Bernie did an excellent job. My veil was taking longer than expected to arrive, but they allowed me to borrow the one I chose to take to my hair and makeup trial. Bridal connection was a wonderful experience, and I would recommend them!

Negative experience: The lack of compassion of the owners and management just shatters my heart. Having one of the worst things happen to you like this, and then having a company, so un-understanding really hurts. I would think us as humans would feel for one another more and try to help eachother through. It's not even a refund I want or for them to compromise their business practices however I do expect a level of compassion. Being a local Iowan and this being a local business just brings shame to iowa nice. I beg you do business with people that genuinely care from start to end.

Fantastic experience: They were so nice to us and helped us find amazing prom dress for my sister. These ladies new exactly what they were doing. You can always count on bridal connection.

Negative experience: I have mixed feelings about bridal connection. I had a great experience for my dress and my bridesmaids dresses. However when it comes to tuxedoes stay far far far away from them. If I could give them negative stars for tuxedoes I would. The employee I worked with in particular had no idea what she was and just couldn’t comprehend how to answer a simple question. Six out of thirteen tuxes had been messed up and had to have been re ordered and Ankeny isn’t local for us so we wasted very valuable time on my wedding week, so much that I had to cancel over three appointments to deal with this employee who is literally clueless at her job. She never owned up to our mistakes and blamed it all on me as if it was my fault that she can’t simply order a tux and get it sent in correctly in a timely manner. Again, overall my dress was beautiful and I loved my bridesmaids dresses but the tuxedoes was the worst experience of my entire life

Fantastic experience: I’ve reviewed before, but this place deserves another 5 stars! Today the shop owner went absolutely above and beyond to help me with a situation that came up. She could’ve told me tough luck, but she was SO empathetic and kind and helped me find a resolution. I honestly couldn’t be happier with my experience here and I cannot wait to wear my dream dress in October. I cried happy tears when I got home today because I just appreciate them SO much!! 10/10 recommend!

Fantastic experience: I was so nervous to pick out my dress for the big day because I was very particular in what I wanted. Tammy was amazing, and helped me find the dress! She soothed my mind letting me know they were able to make the alterations I wanted. This place felt so comfortable, and stress free. I highly recommend Bridal Connection!
