Fantastic experience: Went to this location to grab an International Driver’s Permit for an upcoming trip. Super quick and easy, and the team was really nice! They had the applications there and were able to take the requisite photos which was so convenient not having to run around town. At least for this service, I can recommend this location. :)

Fantastic experience: Top notch service experience all around! Alex and front desk were kind and very professional. They replaced my battery under warranty and checked alternator (no problem found). They also topped off one of my tire's air pressure as a courtesy. Facility bright and clean. I've been a AAA member for many years -- this service center is a great asset/benefit

Negative experience: I went in for an oil change, they said the tire rotation is included. When I went to pick my car up, they said the lugs were too tight and they were unable to rotate my tires. They couldn’t reset the oil change alert. Everything else was good with my car, and found no other issues. The moment I drove off, my brake pad alert started to go off, which was not an issue until after this service. A few days later, I hear an unusual sound while I’m driving. I found out the that multiple wheel lugs were dangerously loose. I was able to remove 2 lugs on my front driver wheel by hand. I visually checked my wheel lugs and saw that a lot of them were stripped. And one of my aftermarket wheels were damaged.

Negative experience: Called to confirm a 3PM appointment at 2PM. Arrived at 2:40 PM. Without any apology the clerk told me I would not be finished until 5:30 as something "came up". I will never do business with anyone who has no concern for the value of my time. I was going to renew my AAA membership. Obviously that won't happen as they can not be trusted!

Positive experience: I had an excellent experience getting an international driver's license. I got the license the same day. The only thing is that I left a jacket in the office and they could not find it.

Fantastic experience: I needed an oil change and some diagnostic work. AAA Auto Service was a pleasant experience. When I was paying the guy handling my check-out, he told me about 2 huge discounts I didn't know about! I paid $89 less than the quote! This place is a 5☆☆☆☆☆ experience in everything!

Negative experience: My experience has been horrible. This has been the third time my vehicle has been in the shop for the same exact reason. Initial reason why it’s in the shop because it would not start and it got towed first it was some type of wire that they replaced that I paid for was almost $1000, I get it out drive a little bit and then it didn’t start again take it back to them then it’s the fuel pump that gets replaced. That’s also over $1000 for clarity and now my car is back in the shop cause it wouldn’t start a couple days ago same shop now it’s a wire that’s connected in the back by the fuel pump that that’s burnt out that they didn’t know it was bad the first time so now I’m thinking what if the fuel pump wasn’t even bad, would’ve got a little wire the whole time and now just wasted my money so to speak this experience with them is frustrating. I will never go back.

Fantastic experience: Super service with excellent international travel agents specializing in Viking, AMA river cruises and guided tours

Negative experience: I was there this morning to drop off my car for an alignment (by appt). Alex, the assistant service manager” was there to help me. He did not ask for my name, member ID or if I had an appt for this service. Since the start of the conversation he refused to help, and all the answers to my questions was “idk what you want me to tell you” he didn’t bother to call the Rockville store to confirm that one of the reps made the appt nor provided additional solutions. I don’t think that kind of attitude fits a managerial position.

Negative experience: This auto care center is terrible. They charge you a few thousand dollars for a small problem which they alway exaggerate . They are not honest. SO avoid going to this place.

Fantastic experience: I had a low tire light come on so I found this place on Google and drove over. The manager said there were no appointments but he said drive up to the bay and I will check the tires. They were all slightly low so he filled them. He said if the light comes back on, call me and I will fit you in. He couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating.

Negative experience: Over 3 hours for an oil change even with an appointment is crazy. Definitely do not go there if you don't want to waste your day

Negative experience: They're friendly enough, but will definitely try to get over by assigning services that a vehicle does not need. I had this experience with them after having my car towed here by AAA. Once I realized something was off with the service estimate, I proceeded to have my vehicle towed to the dealership I typically use (where I wanted to have it towed initially, but fell for the AAA upsale - a different issue) and was quoted at a fraction of the price it would've cost to get my car running at this shop. I am happy to have been screwed out of the additional tow fee by AAA after saving a thousand dollars.

Negative experience: Have heard decent things about AAA in the past and wanted to have someone look at my car before I take it on a 2500+ mile trip. Brought it in for an oil change and asked that they look at the car and let me know about potential problems that could impact my road trip. I was assured that they have a checklist that they run through and they will look my car over and let me know what they find. Sure enough there were a few problems and I agreed to come in next week after they ordered a part since there was a problem with my axle. While they were fixing my axle I was informed that my rear brakes were dangerously low to the 2mm thickness and in danger of failing a safety check and that it would be another few hundred to fix them. I've changed brakes before. Did they need to be changed immediately? No. However, if I had known previously to taking this roadtrip that breaks were on the to do list I would have ordered the parts and done it myself last weekend. Now I'm 3 days out from moving and I just don't have the time or the equipment to do it myself because I'm packing. Alex is great. I like the interactions we've had, however, telling me that you're going to talk with the individual who did the initial inspection doesn't change the fact that I'm out a few hundred dollars. AAA is now about as good as JiffyLube in my mind. Come for an oil change if you need it, go anywhere else for everything else.

Negative experience: They are so slow and they treat people of color like they don’t exist. Making an appointment doesn’t matter because you still have to wait 3 hrs for a simple oil change if you are black. The girl at the front desk totally ignores you when you come in and the other agents in the building act like you don’t even belong. This will be the last time I visit this location and I will make sure none of my friends or family members come to this location. This is unacceptable to say the least.

Negative experience: They are not better than other mechanics just because they are 'AAA'. They are actually worse than your local gas station. When I make the appointment, I wrote down for wheel alignment. Nothing complicated. When I get there, they told me that they cannot do the alignment because they do not have the technician. What is the point of making the damn appointment to begin with? This is absolutely unacceptable! This is a basic service and they advertised this service.  There are so many low review in this location and I should have believed them.

Fantastic experience: helpful, well priced and fast repairs. they made an Honest assessment of the work that I needed to have done and provided me with a reliable timeline. When I showed up there was a comfortable sitting area as well as amenities and I was informed about what I needed. Overall I was impressed with the quality of service I even returned to get my out of country drivers license when I was going on a long trip.

Fantastic experience: This is the first time I have been at AAA in 50 years. What a great experience in getting my international drivers license. Also, there are so many great services that the provide that I was unaware of. Great service.

Negative experience: Technician rushed the whole time...technician over estimated the work. Gave an estimate of 1200 for tires elsewhere 800!!!

Fantastic experience: This is a great place to get help in planning a trip. The travel group is very knowledgeable and can set up up for a trip as small as visiting Disney World or taking a cruise to Japan.

Negative experience: I was shocked! I've tried to get new car and property insurances because i had good experience with AAA in the past. I visited this office twice (Wednesday and Thursday), but insurance agent Diana Urrutia was out. On Friday Diana gave me a call, got my info and promised to send me email with the quote. She didn't. On Monday about 2:30 pm I gave her a call and asked about my papers. She sent me quotes for another customer with her personal information!!!!!!!!!

Positive experience: Update 7/25/22: AAA contacted me directly and apologized, discussed the incidents, offered a resolution to make dad happy, and most importantly owned it all without excuse! I was pleased over all with the handling and timeliness of this. To me, any business / employee can have an off day or month but its how they handle it that matters most. Changing from 1 star to 3 star for this reason. Main review---- RUDE main, older front desk lady at Gaithersburg MD location, morning of 7/18/22!! My elderly, health impaired, Veteran dad went in at 9:00am ish, despite opeing at 730a, and the doors were still locked. No apologies at all and didnt care! They didnt even greet him! Since we JUST signed up with FOUR new top tier memberships 1.5 weeks ago, I asked him to grab 4 brochures that clearly outline our benefits n will keep in each of our cars. She rudely refused and said he needs to go online. We dont have a color printer and wanted the 4 nice brochures... she still refused. He mentioned 4 NEW memberships and she refused. Gave him one n was just rude the entire time........

Negative experience: I have been on hold for 70 minutes waiting for travel services to pick up the phone. I'm told to 'please hold for the next available associate.' Still waiting, but the place closes in 15 minutes. I just called to ask for maps and tourbooks. I cannot believe that anyone is actually answering phones today. And the hold music/recording does not tell me my place in the queue.

Negative experience: The estimate given was incorrect. The front brakes and rotor were not required including new tires. Only rear brakes and rotor were needed

Positive experience: Arrived for a car inspection for Maryland. Very through and diligent. This process took three hours. I walked to and fro after dropping it off at the location. While I was not full pleased with the finding that must be replaced before I can obtain my clearance to register my vehicle, the service is good. Constantly a group of people come to the location for service to travel, direction, and car service.

Fantastic experience: Steve is super knowledgeable and ultra responsive. His work is very quality and reasonable. A truly rare combination. I would not go anywhere else for auto body and painting. IMO completely trustworthy

Negative experience: I normally love the services that AAA offer, however I'm not liking my experience with them "this time around" as the response time was excessive causing me to obtain service elsewhere, i.e., I needed car insurance promptly as I couldn't take possession of the new used car I bought without it being insured. I went online to get a "free quote" & was told "an agent" would "call" me. Three weeks later I called the location closest to my residence to inquire about auto insurance being available at this location (yes) & did I need an appointment or could I just walk in (need an appointment). As the car insurance I got was rather pricey, a payment is due again, & I want to get the AAA membership as I travel by myself constantly & want to help to be just a phone call away no matter where I am should the car break down or I get a flat, I'm going to forget about this one bad experience with them and just "walk in" & see how it goes.

Fantastic experience: I was having a major issue with my vehicle last Friday night right before the store was about to close. They kept the store open until I arrived and were able to schedule me for an appointment the following day. They didn't make any expectations that the vehicle would be ready by the end of the day because they were squeezing me in. Fortunately, they were able to fix my vehicle right before the closed again on Saturday. The professionalism and care of everyone who works here always surpasses my expectation.

They don't tell me that I need to fix this or that to pass inspection and when they do need to fix something, it is reasonable priced. Fantastic experience: I use AAA Gaithersburg title services in May 2021. I called ahead to ask about what doccument do I need to bring. Some document needed to be notarized, which they did on the spot free of charge to AAA members. They charge the same rate fees as MVA, plus extra $40 fees for the titling +15 MVA computer usage fee. Tommy and Tony helped me get the title transfered in under 45 mins. The best thing was I left with a real MD metal license plates, with 30 days sticker to get the car inspect. They have inspection in house too, but the scheduling conflicts made me take the care to a garage near my house. Two days later I went back to AAA to get the 2 year sticker and that's it. Additional fee for this as you would have to pay MVA +$20. One week after that I got MD title in the mail. Worth the time and the convenient of not having to go to MVA during Covid outbreak. Highly recommend. Call to consult about your case so you know what document to bring.

The prices are comparable and everyone was very professional.... but they told me to come in to pickup my car and then still had to wait over 30 minutes and no other customer was waiting in front of me. A few months later went to rotate my tires and realized they had lost or not replaced my security lug socket in my glove box. It was a PAIN getting those things off without the key.
