Fantastic experience: A big shout out to this AAA car care center facility! I didn't talk in person to any of the mechanic but Stephanie the service advisor went above and beyond to help me out with my issue. From now on its my go to place for maintenance and car repairs. Really happy I found them!!!
Negative experience: Do not waste your time with this place. Nobody works there between 1-2 because they go to lunch and another one who works there had to leave early since it was Friday. And the 3rd person left who works selling insurance does not know how to take a $20 payment. AAA on Walnut St is useless when they are supposed to work.

Negative experience: Problems have arisen. I tried to use my spare key the other day & my Honda seized up & locked me out. I had to have it towed. I’ve used AAA @ this location in the recent past & this review is regarding both experiences. The latest experience, the one with the key situation mentioned above, there was a miscommunication between us & the front desk. I already had a locksmith lined up who would replace my KEYLESS key for $295. All I needed to do was have my car towed there. I was mistaken by their instructions though & just took them my license & registration. Once I got clarity on that, the gentlemen at the front desk took over the situation without consulting me, the owner of the car, & instead just listened to my mom who was also confused! AAA representative (same guy) stated that they were able to handle my key needs on site. What he really meant to say is that he was going to call locksmiths that I hadn’t spoken with & have them come out. Again, he listened to my mom who told them to just do it. I ended up paying $350. for ONE NON KEYLESS key. I was ripped off as of yesterday. ********************************************* They fixed my transmission this past April. Lights are still on but it runs well. It was expensive. When they gave it back to me in April, the technician stated that it was making noise, but it would correct over time. It’s getting worse, i am an unaccompanied lady, but, I know what a bad muffler sounds like. I mentioned this & wanted to get it taken care of at that time also. Technician said it was best to hold off. So I don’t know what kind of lady-hating staff you got running that place, but there was contention behind their decision making & that’s unfortunate. I have never been anything but nice to people in the automotive industry (I used to work in 2 separate dealerships & no one’s ever counting on me having inside knowledge) & industries beyond that. But my tolerance for this kind of treatment has worn very thin & I would like for you to address it with your staff & then contact me when you are ready to make it right. As an aside, I am aware that my car is on the older side, but it’s a solid running Honda which should be inexpensive to repair & they run for decades. So whether or not that vehicle is a lemon is irrelevant to the situation here.
Negative experience: This place is a scam. When I called them for the estimate to replace Alternator on the phone they said ballpark $500 but I got my car towed there they changed the price to $900. Can someone explain how is a Ball park estimate for a known service changes to double in less than 2 hours?

Fantastic experience: I have taken my car to several AAA Car Care locations, and they’re always consistent and reliable for my car maintenance needs. All staff is friendly and professional, and have been kind enough to provide me with a ride to and from their center. Highly recommend them!
Negative experience: Opens at 7:00 am. I called to check their ability to do International Licenses. Was told it was a 10 minute process. No mention of them not doing them except certain hours. Got here at 8:20 and was turned away while the two employees were sitting at their desks doing nothing. Came back at 2:30. One person working. The other is gone “to lunch”. Very poor service!! Don’t bother coming.
Negative experience: Very poor service, wife’s van died tow mechanic said it was the alternator had AAA tow it to this location as it was the closest to us. After almost an entire day of them having it they gave me a quote of over $1000 to fix a laundry list of items. The less than a year old battery being one of the items that needed to be replaced. I said I just want the alternator and they wanted to argue about every item. Finally they did just the alternator then charged more than they quoted me to replace it…. Alternator died within a month again they would not replace it even though they had stated it had a 2 year warranty…..
Negative experience: Unprofessional. I had four-run flat tires. To pass the state inspection, they took 6 hrs to check and replace two regular tires on my car. Now it drives wobbly like a jelly.
Negative experience: This is THE worst mechanic shop in NC. I have spread the word in Cary about how horrible this shop is, just to find out there’s at least 8 people I know of that have had the same experience here. They will steal your money, break your vehicle and the owner is extremely combative if you try to fix things. If you like your vehicle, don’t take it here.
Negative experience: This shop does too much up-selling for unnecessary maintenance. I had a battery replaced at a cost of $200. Then they told me I needed terminal cleaning for $35. The terminals were just checked and were in very good condition. Trust is gone. Won't return.

They quoted me $14 to replace the brake light bulb then it magically went up to $60+ !! They're not even trying to hide the fact that they're ripping you off. This is my first and last time coming to this location. Very shady and untrustworthy.
Negative experience: Went in for a simple state inspection, came back failed because my rear view mirror tint was broken, yet you can see out just fine. Never been failed for this before for years on end. They were just trying to rip me off selling me expensive parts for my old car. Took my car to another place a day later and it passed inspection. Never going back. Probably the biggest waste of my time this year.
Negative experience: terrible service. took my car in for oil change rotation and balance. was told it would cost $135. went to pick up and the guy said it was $235. charged me for battery terminal work that i didn’t ask for. i open my hood to check and terminals hadn’t been touched. went back to get my refund and was told they can’t issue a refund until the manager gets back on monday…….lol

Fantastic experience: Eddie Coto, Facility Manager at the Walnut Street location, is absolutely incredible. My father received assistance from him a couple months ago, and my mother called in yesterday and spoke with him at length - both receiving excellent customer support. And yesterday and today I was taken very good care of from the man himself. Eddie is thoroughly comprehensive, understanding and patient, empathetic and respectful of his customers' needs. He takes his time to help above and beyond. He is personable and kind. He is a delight to work with and I wish I had an Eddie in every other transaction-based interaction. Thank you very much, Eddie!
Fantastic experience: They fit me in without an appointment for an oil change on my 2007 Lexus IS350. They inspected my car from head to to. Sent me a detailed report of any issues that I may need to address. They weren't pushy about getting the work done and very courteous about helping fix my bumper from a little mishap I had. I would highly recommend AAA Cary location. I will use them in the future as well.
Negative experience: Told my car there for a simple diagnostic. They told me I needed spark plugs they told me I need rear brakes. They switched the spark plugs around and the car ran worse. The next day my car overheated there was a hose that happened disconnected. Come to find out they did not put my radiator cap on properly. They did not admit that they disconnected the holes and did not reconnected. It's a good thing I had sent enough to take the radiator cap off and screw it on properly. My car ran hot and I stopped in front of a fire station the fireman fixed the holes. I would not recommend going to this place they are overpriced they are not honest and they almost destroyed my engine.

Negative experience: Made a 7:30am appointment to get a simple oil change and it took them an hour and a half to get it done even though i was the only one there. They told me it would take "an hour at the most". I didnt get my keys till 8:59. Also spent a good chunk of time trying to upsell me different packages, and after all that insisted on quoting me for new brakes in spite of me telling them I will take care of it elsewhere. If you just want good quick service, go elsewhere.
Negative experience: Ripping people off. Avoid this business. A widowed grandmother’s car wouldn’t start. As a long-time AAA member, she called AAA for assistance. They talked her into hundreds of dollars of unnecessary work and still didn’t fix the actual electrical problem. How can they stay in business, literally preying on little old ladies? Stay away from this place.
Negative experience: Man I wish I read the reviews first. I had it with another place I brought my cars so I was hunting for a new place. This is near my house and had appointments and I got a coupon in the mail for 59.99 synthetic oil change. So I gave it a shot. My appt was at 1030 and I left it there and went home. I mean I dont expect it to be exactly at 1030 but I got a text about my "inspection" before I heard from anyone at 2PM. 3 1/2 hours after appt they finally get to it. Typical stuff like dirty brake fluid(just had my brakes done 2 weeks ago) and dirty air filter. I declined and said just oil change and tires please. When I went to pick up car they had charged me full price 69.99 instead of the listed coupon price I gave them at drop off of 59.99. Im just too tired to fight with them so I paid it and walked out. I have 4 cars to get serviced on a relatively normal basis and I live less than a mile from them. They lost out on lots of business today just from me alone over 10 bucks and failure to even come close to doing my car at an appointment. Dont take appointments if you cant meet them. I have low expectations from car places and they managed to come in underneath it.

Fantastic experience: After We called Triple AAA and spoke to Cindy, they called us with a time the tow truck would be there and then the driver called to keep us up updated so we knew exactly when they were coming. We had groceries in the car and John with Triple AAA came to the rescue. John had the car towed and brought a van to take us with our groceries home. Then he repaired the car and it was ready by the next day. The service was excellent (way above normal) and after finding the problem the repairs were done quickly! Highly recommend Triple AAA Cary Town Center.

Negative experience: This location carries an over 100% markup on my type of catalytic converter, insisted that a part I gave them a URL for under $1,000 and they purchased at under $1,600 (since they apparently can't order online?) was a $2,400 part "because of markup". GOOGLE THE PARTS THEY SAY YOU NEED BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE SHOP AFTER DROPPING OFF THE VEHICLE, they took less time to order the parts after getting my money than it took them to run a diagnostic, I called back only a couple of hours after leaving with the websites and parts but supposedly they had already ordered the parts, they had already come in, and they had already begun taking the old converter out by then so he was "very sorry" but there was "nothing he could do" and I had to pay the ridiculously inflated price. That's $1,400 they cost me. GET YOUR OWN PARTS SO THEY CAN'T RIP YOU OFF WITH PART MARKUP seriously learn from my mistake.

Negative experience: worst place to bring your car. AAA in Morrisville is worth the trip. i called and asked for a quote for an oil change + tire rotation and was lied to on the phone. I was told it’ll be 69.99$ (74$ max regardless of what make or model year) and then when my girlfriend got there instead of me, they tried to take advantage of her and add extra fees, and charge more for the oil change + tire rotation. They also told her they had no record of our appointment but didn’t even bother to check the computer system. I had to call and speak to Mike, a technician, in order to get them to honor the quote they gave me over the phone. My girlfriend told me Eddie the service writer who helped her was extremely rude and tried to upsell her on 800$ of things she didn’t need. My girlfriend also mentioned how they tried to do the same thing to an old lady who was there, trying to charge her 3000$ for new shocks, springs, windshield wipers, filters, alignment - you name it, they tried to swindle her on it. And the cherry on top, they also lied about rotating the tires! when my girlfriend got home - they didn’t even rotate her tires! I would give 0 stars if i could. How do i even know they put the right oil in?

Negative experience: Very unhappy with this service. My family has been AAA members for as long as I have been alive. I am a 22 year old female and the mechanics at this location treated and talked to me very condescendingly. I usually go to the AAA off Waverly Place and have had no issues or complaints. I accidentally made my oil and filter change appointment at the Walnut St. location in Cary. I made my appointment for 1:30, waited in the small uncomfortable waiting room, and did not get my car back until 3:00. That is an unacceptable wait time for an oil change appointment. The mechanics rotated my tires when I told them not to do that service and then charged me for it. I was also told my car tires were too inflated and that they deflated them before speaking with me first about the issue. Before going in for any service my car tires were fine and there was no light on. Once getting into my car after the mechanics gave my keys back I noticed my tire pressure light came on for one tire. I have the type of car that displays on a screen which tire is low and what the current pressure is. After talking to the mechanic he said drive a few miles and it should turn off. It’s been 3 days after service with more than enough miles since then and not only has the light not turned off, but now my car is saying there is low air in 3 tires instead of one. After getting my keys back I stayed parked in the lot for a few minutes to look over my receipt and the discrepancy. I noticed the mechanic coming back towards my car and opened the window. The mechanic thought he left his iPad under the hood of my car (very unprofessional). My mother called to complain on my behalf because based on my experience there I knew they would not take my age and appearance seriously. After my mom spoke with them she was disappointed with the manager’s resentful and condescending response. Very rude customer services and takes advantage of clients wallets. Will not be using the AAA off Walnut St. in Cary ever again.
Fantastic experience: Honest evaluation of my vehicle. They couldn't get the car to redo the issue I was having after taking it for a few test drives, and didn't feed me some bs on a service. John- Damien was extremely kind when we showed up and called us a ride, and even offered my elderly mother his hand to help get out the car. We typically go to a different AAA, however we will be back to this one.
Fantastic experience: Had my car towed here as it was not starting..they fit me in and spent alot of time trying to figure out the problem. It turned out to be something less serious than was first thought. J was professional and courteous.
Negative experience: Had brake pads replaced over a month ago… but I’ve been they’ve been making weird sounds and having a lot of problems since then. Will be taking my car back in, hopefully they can fix this.

Negative experience: I am very unhappy with my experience here. I went in for an oil change, tire rotation, and coolant. I left and recieved a car after they did their check and received a list of important things and non-important things that would eventually need to be done with my car. This is normal and I have done this with every visit to other AAA stores. When speaking with John I asked for an itemized price list of these things and did NOT approve of it. When I picked up my car all the things had been done to it, I was so upset. I did not give my permission/sign off on these things to be done. I have been a AAA member for years with countless of trips to other centers and they have never done this to me. I will NOT be taking my car back to the center and am in the process of reaching out to higher ups because this is ridiculous. I paid $400 more than expected and feel taken advantage of.
Negative experience: First time I ever had to question an invoice. J overcharged me. He was argumentative about a service I asked for and did not even ask the mechanic to check on it. I made it a point to remind him to tell the mechanic to reset my oil life indicator and before I left it was not done and a mechanic who overheard offered to reset it. I had complete confidence in this center until now. Trust is too valuable to be careless with. The guest waiting room is cold and small because the nice one is closed because of damage. As hard as it is to find reliable car care I am really sad about this untrustworthy guy at my center.
Negative experience: I had an appointment for an oil change just for me to have to wait 15 minutes for them to touch my SUV and bring it in for the oil change and then they were so quick with my oil change I had to wonder if the job was done right, I'm still a little iffy and the last issue to top it off with 3 issues total of poor customer service and insufficient time of service for quality of service, there is the price, $82 for a 15 minute oil change! They actually charged me an oil recycling fee, what? I only ever heard of recycling fees for car batteries and then yeah for 15 minutes of service I was charged $37 for labor! Are you kidding me?! All in all I paid way too much for a very short service that I'm questioning the quality of, shop around or meet a new mechanic friend if you can!

Positive experience: I have very mixed reviews about the service I've had here. The times I have gone, they are more of less professional, courteous and on time. There have been a couple times I've been recommended services that had already been done three months prior. The real kicker was scheduling an oil change, showing up one morning only to find out the shop was closed. And not just closed, but chained and locked. It was that way for some time and I thought the store has closed permanently, since I never received a call indicating there was an emergency and that appointments needed to be cancelled and removed. Very confusing.

Fantastic experience: I was told I need rear brakes, but rear brakes & rotors were put on by AAA mechanic at same location (different mechanic) in April! I paid for a part in cash and part was sent back because it was the wrong part. I was told they could not give me my cash back from the petty cash per corporate. I am a member of AAA and have gone to this location several times prior to the new crew. Since corporate feels as though it is fair to reimburse someone who paid cash, to wait for them to mail out a check and then have to deposit it to clear. I will not be renewing my membership when it expires. If a member gets treated like this, then I can just save my money or go with another company that strives on excellent customer service!!! That is not good customer service to tell a customer paying cash that you can't refund them their money back in cash. They have to be inconvenienced of waiting for a check to be mailed out to them. Now if I had my serviced and told AAA that I will mail them my money, I'm sure I would not be able to leave with my vehicle! Yet I gave cash in advance and now have to be inconvenienced to wait for my money to come in the mail. I will be filing a complaint with the attorney general and BBB.

Positive experience: I will admit that when I got my oil changed there was an incident that messed up my car. I was distraught, but then when we went in and spoke with Mark about it right away he offered to rectify the issue. He was very nice and professional through the whole process. Due to Covid related set backs it did take longer to fix than I had hoped, but I cannot fault AAA for that. I mostly want to commend Mark for being great throughout the process.

Fantastic experience: Staff at the Cary Towne Center location was super friendly. What really pushed them to a 5-star rating for me was the inspection report that they emailed me when finished with my truck. I've had services completed at a number of mechanics but I've never gotten a detailed report with photos and ratings before. My 2010 Silverado stopped blowing cold air through the A/C, they refilled with freon and it works like brand new. Extremely satisfied.
