AAA Red Bank

Negative experience: Terrible customer service repair tech refuses to acknowledge customer standing in front of his desk, continued to keep taking calls... I decided if you going to ignore a paying customer clearly I wouldn't trust these people with my car, I also had an appointment for a oil change but the attitude from this gentleman just made me decline the work... If you don't like working with the public the front desk shouldn't be for you or better yet find other work

Negative experience: I've had service at he Red Bank AAA a few times, but unfortunately, I will not be returning. One bad experience can be a fluke, but 3 shows a pattern. Positive: -Oil change took about an hour - faster than I expected (if I had all the services actually completed) -Nice waiting area Negative: -$104 for an oil change on a compact SUV. No other services that I can tell were actually provided despite what is reported on the receipt, Valvoline would be cheaper and would only take 15 minutes. -Specifically requested a tire-rotation for my appointment and one is supposed to be included. I was informed this was completed, but it was not – something that is obvious because my tires are not all the same. -The vehicle report provided also had tread depths noted that were obviously incorrect and just copy/pasted. -The report they provide appears to just be mostly fictionalized to just get you in and out without providing the full service. -Customer service also left a lot to be desired.

Negative experience: Make an appointment with Nick to get some parts installed Nick informed me it would take probably 4 to 5 hours didn't have a problem with that I decided to wait. I arrived at 8:00 waited patiently after seeing my car wasn't being worked on I was informed the technician that was supposed to work on it had a family emergency it was started on about 12:30 the time I was promised it would be done. Why he didn't give it another technician I don't know I ended up leaving at 3:30. I went to get in my car and there was free on oil all over the windshield all over the hood all over the engine compartment I asked for somebody to clean it up they did a terrible job on it. After driving it down to the car wash close too them I came back my AC was blowing and warm the manager saw that I pulled up I went inside and he ignored me and didn't come in the waiting room I had to go out there and I was told what do you want I said my AC is blowing warm, after spending most of the day there and a large amount of money I was told I don't have time to look at it, bring it back to me tomorrow and leave it no apology offered no offer to get my car cleaned up for me, nothing after having three car service there for the past several years I will not come back to Bob summerall because of their manager Chandler, I don't know why he has an attitude problem, after reading other customer concerns it seems Chandler probably needs to get some customer service skills. And I'm stuck to find a detail shop that will clean up the car that Bob summerall oil down.

Fantastic experience: While waiting on my vehicle I witnessed Megan , the assistant manager help several people in for service as well as some on the phone. Took extra time to explain things to people as well as trying to keep within their budget. Very refreshing and professional.

Negative experience: This review has nothing to do with the quality of repair. Just left the Red Bank AAA repair shop. Was in a rather heated discussion with store manager, Chandler. I was there after receiving a call from my 89 year old mother with onset dementia asking for help paying her $2982 repair bill for a complete rebuild of her brake system on her 25 year old car that is worth $3000. I find It unconscionable they would recommend a $3000 brake repair on a $3000 vehicle for someone in her condition and having zero knowledge of the mechanical issue, let alone evaluating the repair cost. Chandler, however, made it very clear that a conscience has nothing to do with their business model. His job was simply to tell the customer how much the repair would cost and if the “customer wanted to pay $5000 or $10,000 for repairs on a $3000 car that was the customers decision. I asked him if he would spend $3000 or $5000 of his money to make the same repair and his reply was “if it wasn’t a structural issue, I certainly would”. His reply got the attention of a couple of coworkers and two customers who were nearby and could hear us. They immediately looked away, and I was caught off guard because we all knew it was a complete lie for someone who’s in the business to say. This is just a heads up so you know the type of people you’re dealing with at this shop.

Fantastic experience: Helpful staff for international driving permit. Quick and easy.

Fantastic experience: Megan and Lexi took care of me from the minute my car was towed to this location. They called me at every step of the process from receiving my car, to diagnostics, to completion. They were kind, courteous, informative and efficient. They did not push any additional services on me that were not needed at the time - they just took care of my oil change and repair just as I needed it. Megan provided an honest and affordable assessment of the issue with my car and I had my car up, running, and returned the following morning after my car was dropped off at the end of business the day prior. Such fast and reliable service! I couldn’t be happier with how easy, stress-free and comforting this experience was. I will definitely be back for any future needs!

Negative experience: Terrible service and experience at Bob Sumerel Red Bank Road location. We were visiting the Cincinnati area and our car would not start. We called AAA to have it towed. AAA recommended Bob Service Red Bank Road. After a terrible experience with this location I contacted AAA customer service to share what happened only to learn that AAA owns Bob Sumerel. The AAA towing service should not recommend another AAA owned business. $514.98 invoice from Bob Sumerel and when we returned home we needed to spend an additional $175.00 to have the repair completed correctly. Very disappointing experience with this location and also AAA.

Fantastic experience: I always get great service at this location. I had a tire repaired. Nick told me how long it would take. While the tire was getting repaired, Nick added clips to a cover that was hanging under the car. It was finished by the time that Nick gave me.

Negative experience: I went there at 7:30 on Tuesday and there was no one there to help me

Fantastic experience: So I entered on a hot day already irratated, from a different location. The assistant manager Meagan was so helpful and understanding. She did everything in her power to make sure my car would be back runnin and on the street, she made sure she could help me with any discount knowing money is tight these days with also keeping a level head and customer service at 100 while dealing with me being a little hostile. I appreciate and highly recommend this location to anybody in need of car care! Not just about the car but she made sure I was ok mentally with it all goin on. I want to thank Meagan and the bob Sumerel on Red bank for there help and services.

Fantastic experience: Customer service was top notch at Bob Sumerel Red Bank. After stopping at three different tire stores, Megan at Bob Sumerel work diligently to get my tires within my budget and as quickly as possible. I would’ve had to wait a couple of days at the other stores. Megan got mine within two hours! She went above and beyond. The other young lady with her was also very helpful. They were both very personable, knowledgeable and very hospitable. I will no longer have to stop at other tire stores. If I ever need services again. I’ll just go straight to Bob Sumerel on Redbank to see Megan!

Negative experience: Appointments are not kept at this location. Rude “customer service” rep informed me that my only option was drop off, despite making an appointment a week advance because drop off was not an option for me. Then I was told in a very condescending manner that I could wait 3 plus hours and I would be charged $160 before they would look at my vehicle. I have been coming to this location for routine maintenance several years, never again. Wasted a morning I had to take off work, so be advised. I would probably have a different opinion if I was offered an apology instead of attitude, but I’ll be taking my business elsewhere from now on

Negative experience: Horrible customer service, brought our car up to get fixed all for them to say nothing is wrong and to bring it back if my check engine light comes back on. We ended up having to bring it back today around 9am. Multiple people of different color other than mine with no appointment walked in and was serviced perfectly fine. 6 hours later here I am still waiting and they tell me they pulled my car in but can’t fix it because they do not have enough techs nor have the time too and to take it to Dodge. Why waste my whole day just for you to not even do your job?? I had an appointment and was not prioritized but everyone who did not have an appointment was. This was very inconvenient for my family. Don’t do business with them!! Horrible experience 0/10

Negative experience: Do not come here if you are in need of honest and good work. These people literally just reset my check engine light and said if the check engine light comes back on bring it back up here and we will scan again and fix the problem that shows but from the looks of it your truck is running fine. Five minutes into driving my truck the check engine light comes on and truck does not accelerate. They close for the day and I bring it in first thing in the morning. They literally had me sitting in the waiting room from 9 o’clock till 2 o’clock in the afternoon just tell me that the check engine light came back on and to take it to Dodge It could take days to do and he didn’t have the time to do it

Negative experience: I tried calling the number on the website then I push the correct extension and I waited 10 minutes and then I got disconnected. Therefore, I tried again two more times and listened to music then got disconnected. Please do yourself a favor just post a number on your website that goes directly into your service for cars that located on Red Bank Road. I am a member of AAA and this is by far the worse way to attract new business. Before I drive to any business for service I always call to ask questions. Unfortunately, this experience has left me very upset and I will never ever support this establishment located on Red Bank Road.

Fantastic experience: We came in because we had road hazard insurance on our tires. We thought we had a nail that put a hole in the tire but it was not long enough. The service was great. We got a discount because we have AAA.

Negative experience: The first time was good. Because I am a member, diagnosis fee was waived. And my car was back to life with no reason. Although they claimed they changed some fuses. However, not long after this, the same problem happened again. It took 3-4 hours for the tow truck to come. My car was towed to this location again. The next day, they called me about what was wrong about my car. I told them it was the same problem as last time. They said I need an electrical diagnosis which cost 149. I was fine with that if they could actually find out why and repair it. And I was also told that since I didn't make an appointment, I need to wait until the next day for them to be able to take a look. So I waited until the next day. When I called in the afternoon, I was told they don't have time to look at my car. Excuse me? You told me you would take a look the second day. I assumed that will be an appointment made. So I waited 2 more days. I received call saying my car was good. Nothing wrong only lose connection on the battery. hahah. I don't believe you. I was charged $50 after some discount for staying there for so long time. Anyway I am done with this location. Several days later, my car was dead again. So it was not a loose connection.

Positive experience: My paperwork was ready for me to pick up when I arrived. Friendly warm atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: Unrepairable tire with slow leak, less than 24-hour departure. They were able to squeeze me in that day with my preferred choice of four new tires. Alignment guy even stayed late to finish the job. These folks went above and beyond expectation.

Negative experience: If there was a zero star that is what I would give it. Do you know how insulting it is to be lied to? I do. I was there for the TSA pre-check because I fly frequently and I didn't have an appointment. I understand that the folks that had appointments go first. I waited 2 HOURS. A husband,wife and 2 children came in. I heard the entire conversation. The husband and wife had appointments but the 2 children were on the waiting list. Mind you, they only had to sit for about 15 minutes when they were called back and I know I was next. The 2 employees even discussed their situation and the woman said they had to wait because their children were walk-ins just like me. When the family was called back before me, I said to the workers that I was next. That is when the female worker lied to me and said "no ma'am the whole family had appointments." Again, it is so disrespectful when someone flat out lies to me. All they had to do was to call me back next, before the family. I have a AAA membership, but I don't want any more advertisements from them mailed to me or emailed. That was disgusting.

Fantastic experience: Staff was really friendly. My oil change was dobe quickly, they even drove out to my house to check on something after I left.

Negative experience: Signed up and called to get car towed. Called in everything good they new how far tow was I am a plus member 100miles free. Truck comes hooks up car pulls away aaa calls and says I'm in a 7 day grace period so it will be 150 $ only 5 miles free. After I already confirmed everything was fine and drove hour away remind you. I wait on hold for over hour and half 3 phone calls. And after all that the last lady I spoke to tried to transfer my call again. I begged her not to put me on hold ( I'm sitting on the side of the road behind tow truck over 2 hrs ) she's literally laughs and says watch this , and hangs up. I had to have truck drop truck off back where I broke down. I have never been treated like that

I had noticed the tire pressure slowly falling in both my front tires and had used the free air machine they had out front to inflate them. As luck would have it, the air machine was inoperable. They told me to pull around back and they would check all the tires for me. Not only did they do that, but Nick got underneath the car and checked the tire pressure on the spare. I can not say enough great things about the Fairfax location. Nick went over and above what I expected and I really appreciate his attention. Thanks Nick

Fantastic experience: Great Staff & Great Service. They have new management that just started here. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. Had a flat tire without an appointment. There were two guys behind the counter and a shop full of cars and they still had me out in less than an hour. Well done and thank you. They turned my day around. AAA memberships are also sold here as well. I bought one. It, it was BOGO on classic memberships and I was heading out of town. 2 up. We have gotten oil changes, tires, brakes, maintenance items and engine repair here. Doug was the previous manager. These new guys are on their game! Thanks Zach & Nick for the great service. This will always be our 1 stop shop. Also, it's one of the cleanest auto shops I've been to. We visit the Redbank location.

Fantastic experience: Brad got me in on short notice to get my tires replaced. I was in and out in the morning in just a few minutes. Came back in the afternoon and Brad again got me in and out in a few minutes. Very quick process and very happy with the results.

Negative experience: I had to wait over nine hours for a tow truck to show up. My vehicle was getting towed less than a mile. I received no updates. When I called in at one point I was told the truck would be to me in 1-3 minutes. The truck driver called me 5&1/2 hours later to let me know he was close. AAA will sign you up knowing that they don't have enough tow trucks to serve the number of clients either for a tow or road side assistance.

Negative experience: 7/28/21 We were heading out for vacation early morning and discovered a screw in the tire. I’ve done business with the Redbank store before and saw that they opened at 7:30. I drove down and arrive about 15 minutes before they opened. They let me in a few minutes early and started the paperwork. About 10 minutes later the mechanic went in the shop to begin work. He went outside and pulled in another car. I was a bit confused, but thought maybe the man behind the counter would repair the tire. Another 10 minutes pass and the manager walks up and tells me that it will probably be 11/2 hours before they get to it. I was the only customer there and walked out in disbelief that anyone could be that rude and unaccommodating.

Fantastic experience: If you need AAA services this is the store to visit. The staff is professional, friendly and always willing to help. Ask for Scott Fawbush for all of your travel needs. He is oustanding

Fantastic experience: Car was having issues Sunday, requested an appointment for Monday. Doug got back to me early Monday morning saying they don’t have room for appointments but he can still help me out. Never had a repair so easy. Car was done within two hours, they do good and honest work never tried to up sell or create more problems. I was expecting to buy a new tire but they just did a quick patch. Most of the time when no one has appointments this would take all day and even until the next day at least in my experience. These guys took care of me and got me in when they did not have to. Thank you for being awesome and so easy. Update: had a few tire issues over the summer, thanks Cincinnati construction. Doug took care of me yet again! Was able to call and stop in, waited maybe 20 minutes every time, and due to having AAA and a warranty I saved so much money by going here. Quick, friendly, and quality service. Thanks again!

Fantastic experience: I’ve live in Pleasant Ridge and I drive to this location even though there is a AAA Bob Sumerel in the neighborhood . I’ve had many tires patch and replaced there over the last few years, and they even repatched one for free when I ran over a nail hours after getting the car back from another leak. Earlier this week I took the SUV to get breaks repaired. They were clear upfront that they were swamped and that it could be a day or more before they got to it. With the pandemic we’re only using 1 car so it was not a big deal, until 5:30P when I realized we needed 2 cars first thing in the morning. I called and we agreed I’d pick it up The next day, but that I’d need to bring it back I to have the work done. When I got there at 8:45 the next morning the work had been done. Zeb (?) had the parts and apparently stayed late to get it done. Didn’t have too, he just did. Ther’re always pleasant. Always prompt. Always clear about they can and can’t get done.

Fantastic experience: I drive from Bethel just to see Doug. He understands the real meaning of customer service and I'll be a loyal customer as long as hes running things!
