Negative experience: Flown two trips today it was an absolute nightmare. You better believe if you are taller than 6 foot five you are in for the one of the most uncomfortable rides ever in a plane. I was crunched up. The stewardess was absolutely useless when I told her and raised the concern that I was very, very cramped up and I couldn’t even move my leg more than half an inch, I was stuck on a two hour flight and another two hour on another. It was very uncomfortable. I will never fly this airline again total And garbage!!!!

Negative experience: Worse customer service. Customer: May I request to speak with a supervisor? Customer service: No you don’t have “permission” to speak with supervisor. Just give us a call back (after have been waiting on the call for more than 1 hour!) if you have further questions (my nearest question has not even being handled!). I am disconnected the call now. Negative experience: I am reaching back out as instructed by Miss D’lily with the customer relations department during our phone call. I requested a refund through the refund page as instructed by miss D’lily with no luck. The refund was denied as the tickets have already been used. As I laid out in my previous emails with the customer complaint department the service received was extremely unacceptable. I was lied to, and my family was put in a very dangerous situation. I was offered a $75 flight credit for each ticket which does not help me at all. You can only use one flight credit per ticket so essentially I was offered $75 only for the repugnant service given to me. I feel this compensation is highly inadequate and the hoops I have been forced to jump through are ridiculous. I understand there are inconveniences outside of AmericanAirlines control but what I experienced was 100% within American Airlines control and was highly unprofessional service. I’m not one normally to complain, I have probably flown over 100 times since I was eight years old but as any consumer I expect to be treated fairly and ethically. Below is a statement shortly outlining my experience. - My flight from Nassau to Greensboro with a connecting flight through Washington DC was delayed. We were supposed to fly out Sunday afternoon and arrive in Greensboro Sunday night. The delay caused me to miss my connection which I understand things happen. That’s not what I’m upset about. What I am most upset about is I attempted to call the airline and have accommodations made for me and my family to stay at the airport before I even arrived in DC and they refused to do so for me. Once I arrived in DC, they lied to me and said no more accommodations were available at the airport, which I called and verified that was not true. They stuck me in a cab with two small children and no car seats. The cab driver took nearly 45 minutes to get to the hotel room when I was told by the airline it would be a 10 minute drive. The cab driver attempted to get extra money from me. After getting checked into the hotel, I only got two hours of sleep. I am highly highly unsatisfied with the service I received and the dangerous situation your airline put my family in in Washington DC. Negative experience: Today we had a terrible encounter with a horrific man, he was condescending, rude and unable to pause to listen. After he was done talking to us about how we booked wrong, I explained to him how Mexican Passports work. Instead of admitting he was wrong he chose to continue to be rude. Negative experience: I currently on hold to speak with an agent regarding. So far at the time I am writing this, I have been on hold for one hour and 16 minutes. This is disgusting service and I am so disappointed in American Airlines. I have a very simple issue that will take almost no time to resolve and yet I have to wait over an hour just to speak to a live person. American seems very happy to take my money for a flight. The lack of simple service is very disappointing and clearly the reason why I prefer Delta. Negative experience: The worst experience I have had with American Airlines I have now booked the same flight 4 times. Never received confirmation email each time I call 1 800 number they day its a 2 hour wait they have called me back at 2am. I have spoken to a rep twice today each says ticket should be issued in the next 2 hours nothing comes first three flights disappeared and now price has gone up each day. Negative experience: For years I always flew American Airlines and was a preferred and loyal customer of theirs but about 5 years ago I couldn't take it anymore with how poorly managed their entire operation was. Today, I decided to give them another try and am terribly disappointed to find that nothing has changed. This is the most poorly managed airline in the industry! My flight today has been delayed over an hour due to basic maintenance neglect and even worse still, they are making all of the passengers sit in a plane with no AC in the Texas heat on a day that's reaching 99 degrees. When will this airline get it together?! Negative experience: Im an US immigrated man and wanted to visit my family and sick mom after almost 7 years in Toronto, so right after I got my US citizenship I booked a ticket from LA to Toronto on July, after I arrived in Toronto the immigration police told me that they have to return me back to LA due to Canada's border closure for Covid-19, I called American airlines and explained everything what exactly happened, a supervisor on the call apologized and promised me a refund voucher for the next 6 weeks in my Email, I called so many times to follow up my refund process after that since six weeks was passed, but they just called me in order to let me know due to company policy Im not gonna be able to be refunded, She also told me that I can go head a get a lawyer! All I have to say is ... wow Is this really how American airlines take care of their citizens even during this hard Covid time?!!! Is this how American airlines care about people who save money for visiting their loved ones?!!! I worked so hard day and night to save that flight's money, It was my first trip with my American passport which left me a terrible memory in my life seeing my mom tears in the airport with two aggressive rude officers at Toronto airport. Negative experience: We booked with Amrrican Airlines back in May for a November trip, thinking this Covid thing would be gone long before then. Well in August when anothwr travel advisory was issued to Mexico we decided we shouldn't travel for the rest of the year because of the pandemic. This was already a rebook, we had flights with Alaska for April and when the pandemic happened they refunded us our unrefundable tickets with no questions asked. We naively thought American would do the same. Well they refused to give us our money back, so we disputed with our credit card company, who were told since we voluntarily canceled our flights we arent entitled to a refund. So not only are we out over $1,600 but our flight credit with American was deactivated so we are left with nothing but a $1,600 debt. When we tried sorting this out we spoke with Dawn, a manager in reservations department, and she was extremely unprofessional and accusatory. I was shocked that a company would allow such a rude employee to be working for them. I will never choose to give American Airlines another dime.

Negative experience: It was horrible. The security people cant communicate within each other to let front desk know they obviously let someone through the gate with name given 4 times but enjoy bossing people around with horrible customer service along with tough guy attitude. As a retiree I was embarrassed to come visit. After I visited I was told then they must follow to CU for transaction, they didnt follow me. Obviously they were prejudiced in my opinion but once figured out I was doing nothing wrong went away. I understand security, but I dont understand prejudice with attitudes and poor communication provided if really taking security serious. Negative experience: I've not flown in over 20 years. I booked a flight for my family, choosing American, in advance at your requested price to be certain we would have a DIRECT flight and assigned seating. I received a written confirmation for our DIRECT flight AND OUR ASSIGNED SEAT NUMBERS. Today, after being on hold and on the phone from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm with their representatives, I was told the following: In order to accommodate your time constraints (time cruise ship arrives to port) you will need to take a CONNECTING flight (American canceled our direct flight we paid for). She further stated there was a DIRECT flight available the next day, however the airline will not compensate you for a hotel stay. So, take the CONNECTING flight or get a refund ... no empathy, in fact she stated OUR ONLY RESPONSIBILITY IS TO GET YOU FROM POINT A TO POINT B, we are not responsible to commit to HOW you get there. She further informed me if a DIRECT flight becomes available closer to our departure, we could not "switch" back because we were "accepting" a flight change. The eventual supervisor stated we could "ask for an exception". In addition to our flight change, our assigned seats on our departure flight were taken away because there was a TIME CHANGE - same plane, just a time adjustment and they took our seats away. Not ONE person would put our seats back to where they were NOR did they care to try to get us back together in the family groups we had ORGANIZED IN ADVANCE. I spent over an hour on the phone arranging seats and nearly 4 hours on the phone today. Nobody cared. To all of them at American Airlines this is a flight. To us this is a family memory and experience that they have placed a black cloud over. First by taking our seating arrangements away and then by placing us on a connecting flight that we went above and beyond to avoid due to the infants travelling with us. HIRE someone who cares about details, not just collecting money and hiding behind "it's our policy - so we can". Very upset NOBODY at American Airlines cares about our experience or wishes. The attitude I received was "oh, well, this is normal - happens every day ... too bad for you NOT OUR PROBLEM".

Used to Fly Southwest Airlines everywhere American Airlines is CONSTANTLY DELAYING FLIGHTS, REBOOKING FOR YOU, OR HANGING YOU UP IN A CONNECTION CITY. Reminds me of how BAD United Airlines used to be. 8 flights in 2 months and half of them are delayed, by a LONG GD time... Enough to make you want to re-book with a decent Airline like Southwest. Negative experience: American Airlines is not so American. We've flown them twice and have had horrible experiences every time. Our last flight on AA was a 10-hour leg with a 1-month old flying home on leave from active duty. The flight was half full. Since there are specific seats for families traveling with babies that allow the baby to be put in a hanging bassinet, we requested to be assigned to those seats once we got to our gate. Our seats were 5-rows back from the hanging bassinet and they would not move us unless we paid $300 extra, which we could not afford being on military pay. Once on the flight, there was nobody sitting in those seats and they would not allow us to move. They do not have their customers best interest at heart unlike other Airlines we've flown such as Alaska Airlines.

Fantastic experience: I've visited this campus dropping off or picking up employees. I was given a tour once, and was really impressed by the campus. At the time of my recent visit to the campus, employees were facing quite a challenge with the Max 737s being grounded. Although nearly every customer they spoke to was understandably angry with the situation, every employee I saw remained professional, friendly, and focused on problem solving for each customer's unique situation one at a time.

Negative experience: Ill try to make this short. I never write bad reviews but this is well deserved. I boycotted AA 5 years ago due to a horrible experience flying to Mexico. I decided to try the airline again after 5 years. I fly frequently for work. 1st flight delayed which would cause me to miss my connection so I rescheduled the connector. Then after an hour the 1st flight was canceled. So I had to reschedule for a 2nd flight. After waiting on hold for 30 min and rescheduling, they announced if we rescheduled for that flight it was also delayed which would make me muss my connection again. So I scheduled a 3rd flight getting in later than I wanted since I have to work tomorrow. While waiting the 4 hours for this flight there were THREE gate changes. So I kept migrating closer to the gate, it would change. Then I go the other gate, after an hour it was changed. This happened three times. I finally made it to Dallas to connect to San Antonio. Flight again delayed for an hour. So I again have to call Enterprise to ensure my car will be there. Luckily I fly Delta on the way back. My friends told me that I should have known better. They were right. No more chances. Im done with AA. Im not flying for vacations, timeliness is important. I would inderstand one delay but 4 delays and 3 gate changes shows leadership is very poor at AA.

Negative experience: Frequent business traveler says NO choose ANOTHER AIRLINE. I fly for business many times a month. I use mostly United, American, and Alaska. AMERICAN has poor customer service knowledge. As with most airlines, you have to speak with to a supervisor to get a "real" answer, although the customary line is "the supervisor will tell you the same thing". When asking for a supervisor I have received such rude remarks as " I BET YOU WILL HOLD ON FOR THAT SUPERVISOR!" 9 out of 10 times the representative purposely loses the call. I hold on for the "survey" and it never happens. What is True is that AMERICAN AIRLINES has SQUEEZED in the fine print that since NOV 2018 REWARD TICKETS EVEN WITH IN 24 hours will STILL CHARGE the CUSTOMER $150 to reinstate your miles. Within 24 hours they will REFUND you $ at no charge but WON'T GIVE BACK YOUR MILES. THIS NEW POLICY IS WRONG! Charging the CUSTOMER $150 for use of their own miles even within 24 hours.....and not making this clear to the customer....HORRIBLE..... Don't get a Credit card with American for miles that the corporation tries to take away from the "valued customer". BEWARE or just accept that you should not grab that Special that they are offering or take any "AMERICAN ADVANTAGE" Ha!

Negative experience: This airline is unbelievable our flight was booked in Feburary. They change a rule for comfort / companion animals that went in effect 6/1/2018. Even though my paperwork was sent in appropriately by my personal doctor and vet. They refused to allow me to bring a 4oz sugar glider on board the plain inside of a carrying pouch that is zipped and inside a flight approved carry on pet carrier. American Airlines states that sugar gliders are a danger. How can it possibly be a danger it cant unzip either of the Carriers it is in. Thank you American Airline for ruining a much 3 year waited honey moon and destroying the rights of a disabled member of society.

Negative experience: Customer service is horrible. Landing was delayed, missed the connecting flight. The staff at the gate was very unpleasant, kept making excuses about not wanting to make accomodations. Stated the weather was not her fault etc. I guess it was my fault, i caused the weather delay.... Did not offer hotel or even a meal or bottke of water, what a dissapointment, again. I would give 0 stars if i could. I should have known, was on the Dallas flight to little rock a couple a months ago that had to be rerouted to Louisiana, Shreveport because of storms. They put us on a bus and drove us to little rock. Needless to say i was upset, since i bought an airline ticket and not a bus ticket. But they did not care, no one apologized or contacted me, that was pretty sorry. Dont know why i thought AA would do better this time. Iam at the Dallas airport with my sister and two minor children. They expect us to sit here with no food or drink to sit here and wait for 7 hours for the next flight. Pretty bad customer service from AA.

Negative experience: Not good. Not helpful. Not understanding for large family groups. Stuck on runway 4 hrs. Still have 2 hrs to go on next flight (had to run with kids to make connection) (after missing 1st one) no food, kids have to pee and in the grand scheme I'm sure f's given by American Air is 0.

Negative experience: "The department you are trying to reach is experiencing high call volume. Please try your call again later." Then it hangs up on you. No queue, no call back. American is hands down the worst domestic airline. A culture of incompetence and apathy. It's a great place to work because you don't do any actual work.

Anyone trying to fly, avoid this horrible company at all costs. Also @google, please create 0 stars specifically for American Airlines because they're awful.

Positive experience: I travel with a side arm every month or so always take it with me and for the first time a guy reads the screan to mean something that is not right according to AA about ammo and just made my flight.

Negative experience: This airline is pathetic. Book a seat 2 weeks in advance then get told I need to go to the counter to be assigned one? Their customer service is less than substandard.

Negative experience: I realize I always have a choice when I fly, and from now on I will do whatever I can to avoid flying on American Airlines. I recently flew from Savannah Georgia To Seattle Washington, then on to Anchorage Alaska. My worst moment with this Airline began at the check in. I was 2 1/2 hours early as to deal with my extra luggage. No one even acknowledged my presence for some time. I had to walk up to the counter and asked to be checked in, no friendly welcome, no hello nothing! I had weighed my boxes at home and both of them weighed less than 50 lbs. the scale at the airport weighed each just over 50 lbs. but less than 2 lbs In each case. I was asked to cut both open and take things out, during which the 2 ticket agents carried on a private conversation, which I feel may have been a negative one concerning me. After the boxes were rearranged, and weighed I requested tape to reseal my boxes. My request was greeted with a heavy sigh, and a trip out of site to get it! So much is wrong with this picture!! I don’t even know where to begin!! I was friendly to book of them through this ordeal, but unfortunately didn’t get the same in return. I might also suggest your web page regarding luggage fees is a bit confusing. Your prices for extra baggage are not posted near enough to the statement about being able to check up to 10 bags. In the end I paid of course ($180.0) to get my things home. I thought I would be paying $70.00 In the end I don’t remember ever being treated worse by airline employees.

Negative experience: Called in because my TSA Pre check wasn't showing on my ticket. Left my name for them to call me back. In the interim I went online to see if I could figure it out and right when they called me back I resolved it. I said to the lady that it looks like I'm okay now and it's resolved and she instantly hung up on me without saying a word. I'm not impressed.

Negative experience: Yea, they are not helpful, I do not know why this is the case. The online booking is dysfunctional. The change fees are confusing. They are not helpful, they are unable to explain the rules, they are very quick to blame you for not understanding their internal systems operational decisions of the online booking. If you are new to American Airlines be very very careful. Horrible customer service. Think very carefully before booking with this airline. Use this airline as a last resort only. Southwest Airlines is amazing compared to American Airlines for travel in the USA. Vouchers are mailed via snail mail and if lost, it is like mailing cash and it gets lost in the mail. I asked if there is an electronic record and she said no. It can only be mailed. I stopped in DFW at the ticket counter to confirm my return ticket to Vail for Aug 29th, 2017 and she said the ticket was there. I tried to check in today and no ticket found on line. Amazing I went to the ticket counter after arriving in Dallas, and told I had a return trip, and then today when I proceed to check in--- surprise. It is all my fault for not understanding how their online booking system operates. Over all service is horrible. On the flight from Vail to Dallas they announced they won the best airline of the year—— I believe this is a self appointed award. They are not fixing the customer service, they are trying to cover it up with self appointed awards. The refund system is crazy, you would thing they would keep a record of the account information. I believe they know that mailing the voucher will cause a good fraction of them to be lost and this is great for them.
