Negative experience: Cancelled membership will never spend another dollar at this place again It's really gone down hill and frankly they charge 5x as much as a regular tow service call. I could have gotten an Uber and bought 5 batteries for the cost they charged me to change. Also it just needed a jump Why am I paying a yearly membership only to get fleeced by service calls as well?
Negative experience: After helping a friend attempt to set up a lockout, they called back to tell us that the two companies in the town they are in are both refusing the call, one to being closed and the other just said they were to busy and that they had nobody else, really there were no other towing companies in a fifteen mile radius to old forge? They told me to feel free to call a company outside the service area that are AAA providers and that they would reimburse my friend. So he pays for a service that he can’t use in an emergency situation? The man I spoke with was extremely rude and just flat out of no help, they would never reimburse him I know that and reading reviews apparently this has happened to other people. I myself have AAA roadside assistance and AAA auto insurance as well as homeowners and I can tell you without a doubt, they just lost my money.

Negative experience: ABSOLUTE train wreck of a place. I have been a member for decades but at this point I'm cancelling my membership and so is the poor person who tried to buy my vehicle. we were given bad info multiple times at this facility we ended up going to another tag and title place after 3 trips to triple AAA with 3 different forms from them to fill out. TURNS OUT YOUR FULL OF IT, and none of those forms needed. CAR SOLD AND TITLE TRANSFERRED NO THANKS TO YOU. we wont be back, your losing 2 annual memberships over this and I can guarantee you will be losing more if this is how you treat your customers these days.
Negative experience: I needed AAA assistance with battery today, May, 2, 3024 at 12:30 pm at Costco in Allentown and so, I phoned in the 1-800 line. A woman asked for my membership number and after 15 minutes of that same automated recording she tells me she going to connect me to the Scranton office. A man answers and asked for memberships number, name, and mentions the telephone number ending in 1211. I refute that and give him my cell phone number. Ok, please hold. Another 15-20 minutes later, a different lady tells me she needs my information again as my request was list, she reveals that the main server is in TX and they are having a huge storm, the entire system is down and if I could wait . . . . Noooooooo! I’m sitting in the car, it’s so hot and I’m thinking the main frame in TX? Why is the whole system controlled by one mainframe in TX? We are in Northeast PA! I was so anxious and upset, I told her the minute I get home, 8m cancelling my membership. 50 years of driving and AAA membership and this is the service I receive from this company and at $110 a year. For what? A member just continuously renews each year and never thinks twice about the reliability of these companies’ computers and how they could affect our asking for vehicle help. The highlight of this story was the gentleman who showed up from YOCUM TOWING & DISCOVERY who happened to be nearby getting coffee at the WaWa and stepped in to help us. His name is either Joe or George! Thank you for your immediate response and 32 year knowledge of vehicle mechanics.

Negative experience: Car broke down called AAA was told what tow truck service was coming, waited an hr called back was told within 1/2 hr as I was waiting my battery died so now 2 cars are down, finally 2hrs later got a call from AAA and was told they could not get a tow truck out tonight, was told I could leave both cars there if I was in a safe place, no I'm not I am on rt 80 was told to call police and they could get me a tow. it would have been nice to get a phone call telling me this so I could make other arrangements I am very dissatisfied, so my suggestion to you is keep people updated in a timely manner, I had to call a tow truck myself to help us. Cost $257.00 which I am supposed to get reimbursed for. AAA is supposed to be 24/7

Fantastic experience: I went to AAA to get my passport photos done. Melissa helped me through the process and printed out a paper stating everything I'd need to bring with me to apply for a passport. She was extreanly friendly and personable and made the process easy. Thank you Melissa!
Negative experience: Maria gives horrible customer service. Not a professional at all. Her entire demeanor is disgusting. Talks about customer in their face. Just down right rude.
Negative experience: If you ever have the displeasure of being waited on by Maria Slocum, RUN! I have never met a more rude, condescending and unpleasant representative. It's a shame a normally reliable company like AAA has its bad apples. Save yourself the trouble and ask for any one of their other representatives. My favorite part was when she repeatedly discarded our paperwork without even looking at it. Thanks for supporting your returning service members! Response: We provided everything on the checklist given to us by Penndot. It's sad that 5 people at your branch had to call Harrisburg and even then didn't know what to do. Lucky for us another office had someone knowledgeable that was able to assist us.

Negative experience: We call for a tow at 301 P.M on Tuesday, January 3rd. 2023 still waiting it's now 6:37 P.M told twice 25 more minutes. Enough said extremely poor wait time. Oh, there finally here it's 6:39 P.M

Negative experience: Absolutely the WORST! Don’t even bother getting their service. Average wait fir a tow truck to come is 2-3hrs++. And you MUST be there or they won’t cover the tow. So if you’re stranded on the side of the road and it’s cold you can die of frostbite waiting fir them, Use a different service.
Positive experience: Worthwhile getting the membership if you moved to PA out of state and need to title/register. You'll get the membership and title/registration for about the same price that you would spend at a tag and title. Regarding roadside assistance -- I was frustrated to find out that AAA doesn't carry my battery type. I am glad I found this out on my own ahead of time and not while I was stuck with a dead battery. They should probably inform customers of this prior to them signing up for a membership if they have a car that they are not able to provide service to. The app is very dated and the interface needs a lot of work. The website could additionally use an update. There is no way of figuring out what your username is if you forget it. I had to call customer service just to find this out. Cruise fares were about the same price as going directly through the cruise line.
Negative experience: Overly experience to transfer a title and get a new plate. OMG felt like I was buying another car....lol
Negative experience: One star is one more than what is deserved. On two separate occasions, I was told a tow truck was not available and I should try to call back the NEXT day in the morning. Forced to pay out of pocket for my own tow and to this day, still not reimbursed. Waste of money, waste of time. Do not recommend.

Negative experience: A couple weeks ago I had an issue with PennDot when I applied for and received a replacement, Honor Our Veterans license plate. The registration that accompanied it came back with the leasing companies address instead of mine. I stopped at the Scranton AAA North Penn office, motor vehicle dept. The lady I was dealing with didn't know what to do. She went and got another lady who claimed she worked at AAA a long one time and knew what she was talking about. She told me I had to get a power of attorney from the leasing company in order to have PennDot change the vehicle registration to my name. Not being happy with her response. I went to my Pa Senators office and they just went to PennDot and got it changed with no problem. I did not need any power of attorney. Anytime I go to AAA North Penn Scranton. They always give me bad advice. I'll will never ask them again.

Negative experience: Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve dealt with from any company, ever. My car blew a tire on a country road in Wayne County yesterday evening. First, I was hung up by an employee named “Lane,” and then — after waiting an hour and was told by another employee that service was on the way — I received a call from another disgruntled employee (again, after waiting on the side of the road for an hour) that the guy at the garage went home early, was not coming, and I was on my own, and he said “Good Luck” and also hung up on me when I asked what was I supposed to do now. In the end, I fixed the flat tire myself and got home safely. Total lack of professionalism and concern in an emergency, and, moreover, I PAY for this service and was supposed receive. After this horrific experience, I would not recommend, or use, AAA North Scranton. The employees were rude and borderline hostile over trying to understand where I was broken down (as if anyone has control over where their tire is going to blow out), and they couldn’t coordinate with themselves how to get a truck out to me. Also, no supervisors were available to talk with. Again, I can not emphasize that for a company that is supposed to help with 24/7 roadside service, they abandoned me and did so in the most unprofessional, uncaring way.

Negative experience: The worst AAA branch in the USA. The guy said it’s very strange you broke down in front of auto shop. They wouldn't send tow truck. I’m a paying customer. These people don’t care and are very racist people. AAA need to closed this branch down. For sure looking for better commercial policy because AAA in Pennsylvania is a joke waste of money. They can’t provide services so why pay.

Negative experience: WE DON'T HAVE ANY TRUCKS TO TOW YOU. Unprofessional, horrible customer service. Call them and they said that they had a truck on the way. The truck never showed up and then when I called AAA again they said that they had canceled the call. When I asked for a reason they didn't not give me one. They told me to call back the next day and they gave me the runaround. They told me that they did not have any trucks to tell me. They told me to find a company on my own and have them tell me and that they would reimburse me. I end up doing this and I never got reimbursed. This is how they treat their members that have been with them for years. Not Recommended.

Negative experience: I have never been so disappointed with the company as I am now. When needing roadside assistance, very poor, in the 3 hours waiting no one came. I call AAA back so many times just to be told another tow truck was assigned to the call . I started calling the service myself and after speaking to the server they declined to service the tow. A no time did AAA call me and tell me that a different tow service was assigned to my call. My husband took over dealing with your company and after talking to a person that just came on duty, she said that the tow truck would be there at 5:59 pm well at 6:01 pm it appeared. Thank you for not lying and I finally got to have my vehicle towed.

Negative experience: Current CoVID restrictions, despite current CDC instructions, at AAA resulted in one (1) person "queuing" people into other departments and stacking nine (9) people in the lobby getting very annoyed because one person was taking an inordinate amount of time asking questions about a trip when they should have been shuffled off to someone, OR someone else coming up and taking care of the people that were stacking up. A supervisor was standing right behind the gal "queuing" people, with two "trainees", yet did not do anything, except walk away with the trainees to the back, away from the counter, so as to not appear to have anyone standing around doing nothing. She did not bring anyone else to handle the people stacking up, nor moving the customer to someone better suited handle their questions. So in short, they need a better system, or a better manager/supervisor capable of handling the customer flow. Expect to have to wait. The current building is new, nice offices. But they had a better working system in their Scranton office.

Negative experience: I have been a member of AAA for 40 years since 1980. First time I’m highly disappointed with their service. I called at 8am for battery service. It is now 3 hours later. I was told twice I would get a call from Clarks in Clarks Summit with an ETA. I’m Still waiting a call. AAA ought to drop Clarks as a provider. This is terrible service!
