Negative experience: I’ve had two incredibly concerning experiences with this repair shop that have endangered my life and made me question their professionalism and safety standards. The first incident occurred when I brought my car in for a routine check. After the service, I drove home only to realize that the oil was completely empty. The shop had missed a massive oil leak, and I was left driving a car with no oil. When I called to inform them of the issue, they actually instructed me to drive the car back to the shop with no oil in it, which is incredibly unsafe. I refused, and had to have my car towed back. This kind of carelessness could have easily resulted in catastrophic engine damage—or worse. The second time, I brought my car in for an oil change and preventative maintenance. After the service, I noticed a strange noise, and upon inspection, I found that the heat shield under my car had been improperly reattached. It fell off while driving, got crumpled under the car, and left me stranded on the side of the road. This wasn’t just an inconvenience; it made my car undriveable and was another example of gross negligence. I am appalled by the lack of care and attention to detail at this shop. These mistakes have not only been incredibly costly but also dangerous. I would strongly advise anyone to look elsewhere for car repairs if they value their safety and the reliability of their vehicle.

Negative experience: My experience with AAA Finneytown and Cherry Grove was beyond frustrating and unacceptable. On January 21, 2025, I went to the Finneytown location to have all four tires replaced on my Polestar 2. I was told an alignment was required and that they could perform it. Trusting their expertise, I approved the alignment. After the service, my car began pulling severely to the right. I contacted the Finneytown location on January 23 and spoke with Megan, who was courteous and professional. She informed me they were fully booked until the following Thursday and suggested I try another AAA location. I then went to Cherry Grove, where I was informed in writing that AAA Tire & Auto Service is not authorized or equipped to perform alignments on electric vehicles. Their own documentation confirmed this, which I have attached. Polestar has not released alignment specifications outside their authorized service centers. Despite this, AAA insisted they had the correct specs. To verify, I contacted a Polestar service center. They confirmed AAA's specs were incorrect and were actually for the Performance Edition of the Polestar 2. My car is the Dynamic Edition, which requires different specs. Polestar provided the correct specifications from my last service in September 2024, which I have attached. This proves AAA used the wrong alignment specs, causing my car to pull to the right. Additionally, I have attached a receipt showing that the Finneytown location performed the alignment, which they never should have attempted. While I was refunded for the alignment, AAA initially refused to take responsibility for the damage. I had to arrange for repairs elsewhere, leading to additional costs due to their mistake. To make matters worse, William Johnson, the Cincinnati area manager, was rude and combative on the phone. He constantly interrupted me, dismissed my concerns, and refused to take accountability. His unprofessional and disrespectful behavior made me deeply uncomfortable. As a woman, I would not trust him to treat your wife’s or daughter’s vehicle with care or respect. If you own an electric vehicle, do not trust AAA for alignments or any service requiring specialized knowledge. They are not equipped to handle it, and when mistakes happen, their management refuses to take responsibility. Attachments: A receipt from Beechmont confirming AAA cannot perform alignments on EVs. The incorrect alignment specs provided by Finneytown. The correct specs from Polestar. A receipt showing the Finneytown location performed the alignment. Update (2/19): After further investigation, AAA Corporate fully admitted fault and accepted responsibility for the damage their shop caused to my vehicle. They acknowledged that the Finneytown location never should have performed the alignment and that their incorrect specifications caused the issue. As a result, they reimbursed me for the cost of repairs. I appreciate Dax from AAA Corporate, who was professional and helpful throughout the process. However, William Johnson continued to be dismissive and later lied to the Better Business Bureau, falsely claiming I was verbally abusive. AAA’s internal investigation, which included reviewing phone call recordings, disproved this claim. His lack of professionalism and integrity only reinforced my decision never to do business with AAA again. I have also attached: An email from AAA Corporate confirming their investigation and acknowledgment of wrongdoing. AAA’s false claims made by William Johnson to the Better Business Bureau. If you value honesty, professionalism, and competent service, take your business elsewhere.
Positive experience: Call them directly for your appointment. I googled their location, and clicked in “make an appointment”. I got a 7:30am appointment for 5 days later, and got a text confirmation. When I arrived at the date and time, the guy at the service desk didn’t see my appointment and asked if I made it online. When I confirmed, he said it was better to make appointments by phone and that they couldn’t work on my car till 11am.

Negative experience: If I could give zero I would. Usually go to Valvoline for my oil changes but made an appointment here since it was close to home. Hour and 40 minutes later my car was done. In their inspection they find my rear wiper blade broke..which I knew and anyone who touched it without taking it off would have known. My bill for oil change and a tail light was $38.99, but had I replaced the rear arm and blade it would be $178! The rear arm and blade costs $15.99 on Amazon and is an easy fix. Drove the car out of town on Sunday and low tire pressure goes off. Go to get air and 3 of my 4 tires have been overfilled. Filled up the low one that they probably took air out off. Can’t wait to see what else they did to my son’s daily driver. Will never go back there since clearly all they are trying to do is meet their new daily goal. Which was significantly increased. I know this from sitting there for an hour and 40 minutes for a simple oil change! Update: Customer Service sent email. It stated, “When convenient, please provide your 16-digit membership number (if applicable), and your phone number.” Provided number and now want to argue with me via email. These people are a joke just like the repair shop! Also, the rear wiper blade I fixed in less then 5 minutes for $16.

Negative experience: Kimberly took complete advantage of me. I asked only for a passport photo and before I know it she’s asking if I’m qualified for a credit card & then had me signed up for. I didn’t even want one. Next thing I know she’s throwing a free pen and chocolate at me and sending me on my way. Highly dissatisfied with this service and hope y’all learn to listen to the costumers exact needs rather than just do what you please. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

Fantastic experience: I had my wife’s car towed here from down the road on Wednesday/Juneteenth since we have AAA and app suggested they were available to service it immediately. Upon arriving, the gentleman that helped me quickly addressed my need (screeching coming from wheel/brake area but couldn’t see anything and new pads and rotors installed 6months prior) but he quickly clarified that the online estimates are wildly off-base as they were backed up for days with Summer tune-ups and breakdown service requests due to the heat wave and would be 3+ days before they would likely get to look at our car. Unfortunately my dealership down the road said the same thing and had no loaners, so I left it with AAA Bob Sumerel. The next morning they called and confirmed there was a rock stuck in the brake pad, they removed it and reassembled the brakes and car was ready for pickup. Despite the fact that the initial check in wasn’t the most reassuring, I understand the person helping me was trying to ensure I didn’t have unrealistic expectations for when they could get to it, and they ended up exceeding my expectations. I truly appreciate that they were able to prioritize us, got to it quickly and didn’t charge us anything, not a penny. Very easily could have charged for the labor and/or time involved. Fantastic experience: I've been going here for several years for our family's vehicles. I've always had great service. If anything needed to be fixed on our vehicles, they explained why & even showed where the issue was. This is the only car maintenance shop I trust. I wouldn't go anywhere else. You do not need to have an AAA membership to get your car serviced. I would recommend one since you do get car service discounts & roadside assistance if it is ever needed. Also, inside the building, there is a service desk that can give help you plan trips or get ideas for travel. For this service, you do need a membership.

Negative experience: Wish I could give negative 5 for lies, Incompetence, and plain lack of pride and caring in your job. Where in the world do they find the dumbest employees? Wrong line for competent employees, I guess. Note: If you disconnect certain hoses, you have to bleed the air out of the lines. Just one of many tips I as a woman could teach the untrained dummies!!!!!! Companies fault for hiring untrained, but you know, they don't care either.
Fantastic experience: I needed a document notarized and an AAA employee helped me with that. There was no charge since I am a AAA member. I had a tire repair done here 2 weeks earlier. They did a great job and completed it in just a couple of hours. I'll definitely go back to them again if I need a tire serviced.

Negative experience: I've used Bob Sumerel at this location for years with great satisfaction, however, my most recent experience was horrible. Purchased four new tires, came with free rotation services. Was told I must pay an additional $50 to have my locking lug nuts removed. They thought they were generous in giving me a $10 discount. Turns out they replaced my locking lug nuts with a mis-matched set. "Frankenstein" parts is what the roadside assistant called them. They looked ok but were various sizes. The free rotation service is untrue. I've had my tires rotated just once by them because they refuse to schedule you for this service. You must wait for for them to have time for you. False advertising. Do Not purchase tires here. place.

Fantastic experience: I like using this Bob sumerel because it is convenient Stewart is usually the one that takes care of us every time we drop our cars off in there and he is a great person to speak with calls you back as quickly as he can and let you know what's wrong with your vehicle and then go from there as far as getting it fixed prices are a little high but that's everywhere what are you going to do.

Fantastic experience: I called with an URGENT need for all 4 tires, and couldn’t find a reasonably priced set anywhere. They didn’t have what I asked about in stock right now (could’ve ordered in a different circumstance), but had Cooper equivalents and for nearly half the price of a set from the other 3 stores I had called. On top of that, they got me in same day 2 days before thanksgiving. Amazing service, kind staff, and really helped me out of a bind.

Negative experience: Bob Summerel won’t let you make an appointment for tire work, so their solution is for you to drop it off and they will have it ready be end of close. Not everyone can go without a car for the whole day when they have work and kids. Their prices are lower than Tire Discounters but it’s because it’s very inconvenient to the customer. Everyone makes appointments these days. It’s more convenient for everyone. Very disappointing. I always used to get my tires done there. Never again.

Negative experience: PRICE CHECK!!! Service Center quoted a dollar amount in service work... I asked for a breakdown in costs, I was quoted $748 "just in parts". (Washer Pump, EGR Valve and Carbon Canister). I called the AutoZone across the street to price check. Got the same parts at retail for $243... After I was told "IS WHAT IT IS" from Bob Sumerel, I refused the work then picked up my car, drove directly across the street and paid RETAIL and saved $505 on said parts at AutoZone... I can understand a markup in parts... They get the part at wholesale cost, then charge the customer retail for said part, I'm fine with that. What I'm not fine with is charging 200% over retail for parts? It's a shame as this place was super convenient for me... Will not be back!

Fantastic experience: My last two tire purchases were from an online retailer, and I used this shop as the installer. They put four new tires on my car in January 2020 and a new set on my wife's car just last month, and both installations went well. The lobby is clean and the front store employees were friendly and efficient. It should be known that they do NOT schedule appointments for tires. All tire services at this location are first come, first served, but I was able to drop off the car in the morning and pick it up the same afternoon on both occasions. One point to highlight the service: When I dropped off the car, I approved the technician to check the wheel alignment and perform the service if needed (I think the quote was only around $50). However, when I picked up the car, they told me the alignment was still good, so I didn't get charged the extra cost. I know that that's just a good, honest business practice, but I wanted to mention it since many auto repair shops/mechanics have a stigma related to up-charging any chance they can. That wasn't my experience and I appreciate it!

Fantastic experience: Chris originally helped me the first time I went in. The tires I wanted weren't in stock. He could get them by mid afternoon. Shortly after I arrived home, Chris called and said he is having them delivered by special delivery. I got there before the delivery and had to wait. When arrived, I waited for them to be put on. Though the waiting was a bit long, Chris went above and beyond to get me the tires I wanted. I've been going here for over 20 years. Never been disappointed.

Negative experience: Very disappointed. We have been an AAA member and have taken our cars here for years. I dropped my SUV off to have a flat tire repaired on Thursday, June 10. I’ve always trusted them so I didn’t feel the need to sweep my car for anything of value. BIG MISTAKE! My prescription was stolen, cannot be replaced and I have to file a police report. I have lost all faith in Bob Sumerel.
Positive experience: New tires ride is smooth
Negative experience: Went for a free oil change that is a perk with new aaa membership and told me to leave car all day or schedule appt for over 2 weeks later!

Fantastic experience: We had another road assistance provider before today that failed us miserably. After waiting over three hours for a simple home jump of our car battery we went immediately to Sumerel Tires where they installed a new battery and fixed both a front and rear tire that had punctures. While there we signed up for AAA which will replace our former roadside assist provider. The staff were pleasant and the wait was shorter than we anticipated. Covid protection protocols were being followed so we felt safe. We are glad to be new members to AAA and the Sumerel service program. Good work from everyone.

Positive experience: The guy Chris who checked me in really gave me a bad impression. He acted disgusted from the time I walked in the door... he never smiled, very cold, and needs to learn some manners. I said thank you upon leaving and he didn't even look up or say you’re welcome. He was also the one who called to tell me my car was finished and I said thank you again and he just hung up the phone. People like him need to be working in a room by their self where they do not have to interact with customers. Thank God he didn’t check me out and the only reason why I gave it a three star for their customer service was because the guy who checked me out was way more nice and I made sure to tell him that. He’s also lucky that he didn’t check me out because I had planned on asking what his problem was and make sure to tell him he was rude. I will never go back to this location again, we’ve had great experiences at other locations but this one needs to fire Chris or train him on manners and customer service.
Fantastic experience: Dropped in to see if they would be able to ck fluids and tire pressure. No problem at all. Got the car in and out in a little over 10 min. They are very professional and accommodating. Very clean and safe!!! I highly recommend AAA office in the same building.
Negative experience: Over charged and under delivered. After they beat the price at the first shop (Ulmer’s- 1 star review from me) by $600 on a $1250 alternator estimate, They towed my vehicle over (free with AAA) and ran the diagnostics I had already done. I knew when I arrived it was an alternator and brake rotors and pads needed. I already had the brake parts. But they don’t like using your parts since they can’t overcharge for them. I’m used to markups but Ulmer’s marked up quite a bit and these guys only a smaller amount, and the difference between Bosch or regular alternator is less important than the price difference suggests. That’s the good part. They never produced a written estimate so I was still having to negotiate for him to give me the brake service deal everyone was offered. He (Stew)“forgot” it until I reminded him. I also had, in good faith, told them that the hours needed for the alternator might exceed 2.2 so they did in fact charge me $400. That high, that means techs are getting $100 an hour or more. In higher priced areas to live in the nation, techs vary between $55 and $95 an hour. So you’re telling me yours are the best of the best? Not likely. An alternator is just a couple wires detached and reattached and alternators should run less than $250. Amazon sells them for my car for $125. I’m paying for knowledge and tools and a carjack, since I have none of these. But when I was told the brake labor hours was billed at 1.95 hrs ($195) when I’ve helped my buddy change 4 rotors, calipers and brake pads - and bleed them - in an hour, I have to wonder if they watched a movie the whole time. They also told me my brakes were the wrong size, so I have to use their parts on the front pair. But no one will tell me what size was put in. Needless to say they were a lot more than I paid. My rear brakes fit and they used them. But then Stew doesn’t give me the discount deal everyone else gets for 4 brakes, $60 off, after I told him his estimate on the alternator was low and agreed to a 3.5 hr job at $400 (?). Stingy. He gave me the AAA discount which was appropriate, thank you, since I pay for AAA and you’re AAA Bob Sumerel Tire and Repair. But nickel and dining like this and inflated charges and markups in both parts and labor, when I just broke down nearby, makes me want to go back and pay the same thing at the dealer for actual Volvo parts and a loaner car to use as well. Short report: buy tires at Costco and try Protech on Ohio Pike or another reputable car shop for repairs. After negotiating in good faith, on my end, getting nickeled and dimed was ridiculous. The brakes are soft and don’t grip easily so I almost rear-ended some one after leaving the shop. And I don’t drive fast. But the alternator seems to be working so the knowledge is there. They won’t tell me the proper rotor size for my brakes, however. I asked specifically what the parts I ordered were missing and was told the size wa not right and then that I had a one in four chance of getting it right. Huh? There should be one correct size for front brake rotors for my year make and model.
Fantastic experience: Friendly, knowledgeable staff, had a starting issue, they checked battery, it tested ok, but since it was 4 years old I asked for new. They didn't push it. I trust them
Fantastic experience: Stew and Nicholas did a fantastic job getting me back on the road quickly. I showed up on a Saturday morning when the store opened at 7:30 AM (no appointment mind you) with my 50' trailer that had a screw in one of the tires. Being as long as it is I am unable to park in their lot and had to park across the street. That was no trouble for them and managed to get my tire patched and back on the road in less than two hours! Time is very important to me because when my equipment is not on the road I am not making money. I highly recommend that store and those two individuals!
Fantastic experience: I have taken my cars to Anderson Bob Sumerel Tire since 2012, when I moved into the area. They do a fantastic job. They have always fixed or replaced my tire in a speedy manner, but most of all they are honest. I have never received any pressure to buy something I didn't really need. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: I was in Cincinnati from out of town and found a leak in my tire midday on a Saturday. I was concerned because I was supposed to return home the next day and most tire places aren’t open on Sundays. I stopped at Tire Discounters two hours before close and they said they couldn’t help me. But I called Bob Sumerel 45 minutes before close, and they said if I got there in 15 minutes, they could help me. True to their word, I showed up 30 minutes before close and they fixed my tire in 15 minutes! And for a great price!
Fantastic experience: I always bring my car here for service, never had an issue. Today, however, there was a small problem (just a part not put back correctly) and I brought my car back in and they fixed it for me right away, no question! Zack was the mechanic that fixed it for me, he was very nice, even offered to spray down my wheel to see if there was a hole in it. The concierge Stew, was also helpful, but a little rude. Zack though, he was so nice!! The customer service was impeccable (minus Stew).

Fantastic experience: I went there fairly close to closing hours this past Saturday with a fleet car due to a tire running flat. I only expected them to put air in it to keep me on the road. Tyler got me in, had the tire fixed and all 4 rotated in record time! Very nice employees.

Fantastic experience: They are very nice and do good work, though a bit pricey. Over $100/hr for labor seems high. I don't think the mechanics make anything close to that. Even a small European specialty shop was over $200 less than here for the same problem. Also, the part to fix my vehicle has still not come in, after 15 days! What, are they using the Pony Express? I called in to check and they tell me it will be in tomorrow. We'll see. Edited : went from 5 to 3 (after just one thing that perplexed me...which is pretty darn good after years of service), back to 5 stars. These guys are definitely honest, which is key.
