Fantastic experience: So it’s been a cold winter and i pulled too hard when the car doors were covered with ice. So one morning the back door won’t close. I took to a body shop and they said you need to leave this here and we might need to open the door blah blah. then I took it to AAA and it took 2 minutes for them to take a look and fix it and FREE!! Got to give it a five star for customer service and HONEST technicians!! Special thanks to Alex the technician and Carl the front desk who SAVED my day when i thought i might have to waste a whole day waiting for it to be fixed.

Fantastic experience: I met virtually with Maria De Sarr, travel agent with AAA, for trip insurance purposes. Maria provided exceptional service. She is extremely knowledgeable about the travel insurance plans available for purchase, and the coverages and resources available under the plan. She is patient, kind, and thorough - an excellent communicator who explains things completely and in a very understandable way. I would definitely use Maria again.

Negative experience: Night mare of a place. Took forever to finish work on my truck. I told them I was driving 3 hours after work was completed. These guys cut corners and sent me home (155 miles on the highway) with a mis-asembled axle shaft! I could’ve died! Not to mention it costed me $3000. Seriously, avoid At all costs. I have pictures. Negative experience: Reparing my car here was a nightmare. I towed my BMW here in hope of a cost effective speedy service. My coolant was leaking.Initially they did ghe dgnstic and provided me an estimate of 2900 dollar. I agreed. After that each time I call they kept increasing the price telling my hind break is bad, my wiper bad, my water pump bad this and that. Finally they charged me 5600 dollar and now my engine light is on. They made a false promise that their experienced Euro car tech will fix any German car. Total BS. He could not fix it. And now my Engine light is on. I am scared to death to drive my car. After all the money I paid, in towing, repair, uber all gone to drain. They just flatly said they can not fix the engine light. They damaged my car.

Negative experience: To those who are applying for an international driving permit: CALL THEM TO CONFIRM THEIR BUSINESS HOURS FOR IDP BEFORE GOING. The business hours for processing international driving permit is different from what is stated as their "busienss hours" on their webiste. Wasted 2 hours travelling from DC to Rockville only to be turned back because I arrived a few minutes later than the undisclosed IDP office hours.

Fantastic experience: I met with the travel agent Maria. She was very personable and helpful. I also found out that this AAA office has a service center. I made an appointment for Tuesday to have my car serviced.

Negative experience: I needed roadside assistance to start my car on 4/15/24. I called AA at 4 pm and was told that I will get assistance within 90 minutes. I got a call at 0624 pm that someone will come in 45binutes. Nobody did. I called at 745 and was told someone will come by 9 pm. Someone came finally at 945 pm. This is unacceptable service. I have been a member for 49 years and when I needed AAA they failed. I had similar experience 3 years ago. I plan to discontinuing my membership.

Negative experience: Can't seem to manage their appointment system. It literally takes like 15 minutes to replace a battery even if your system double booked appointments. Guess this is what a 29 year Premier Membership gets you now.

Fantastic experience: I walked in and I was over impressed with their professionalism, and time manner. I was there for passport photos, they walk through and explain everything. I was very satisfied with their service. We discovered that my country size are same for passport and visa. and they offered me to refund one of copy because they both same size, I declined the refund, and took both copy. I was able to inspected the photo before and after printed and it came out clean. I was there for no more than 10-15 mins. I strongly recommend take passport photos here than Walgreen or CVS for much cheaper than CVS and walgreen. Baryshev, Andrey

Negative experience: I always have problems here using their auto repair service. Last time I was there to get a tire with a nail in it fixed, they left the wheel out of balance.

Negative experience: Final Update: I did speak with the owner(?) and, regarding their high labor/parts prices, he claimed that they were competitive with DEALER service. If I wanted to pay dealer prices, I'd have had the car towed to a dealer. Update: I forgot to note that I took the car to another garage less than a mile from this one to have the work mentioned below done. The plugs were $10 each and the coil packs were $60 each. I did do the 3 plugs and coil packs against the firewall. The savings on the parts alone at the other garage for the work done was over $650, and the labor cost was about half of what the AAA garage would have charged me. If you're OK with paying about 3x more for repair parts, by all means, use this place. As an example, I got quoted $30.99 for ONE Iridium spark plug. Yes, these are more expensive than a standard plug, but it's more like $10 for Iridium vs $3-$4 for a standard plug. The other part they quoted me (coil pack) was also about 3x what you or I could buy the part for aftermarket. AutoZone had them for $80 and I was quoted $258 each from this garage. According to Google, the a typical rate for auto mechanic labor is a range of $75 - $131/hr. This place charges $169/hr, which is almost 30% higher than the high end of the range. My vehicle broke out of state while on a trip and I have AAA. I needed to get towed and AAA recommended this place, so I trusted them. If you have any amount of experience doing your own auto repairs, you are VERY likely to be disappointed with your repair quote from this garage. I will say that their front line people were very friendly, courteous and professional, hence the 2 stars. Beyond that, they just have ridiculously high parts/labor charges. They also of course did try to up-sell and weirdly recommended changing all of the spark plugs, which likely would have made additional coil packs fail at $258 a piece. They didn't even suggest the repair that made the most sense, which is to replace all 3 of the coil packs/plugs against the firewall (which was where the faulty one was). It makes sense because you have to pull the intake manifold to get to any of them, so you might as well do all of them while you're in there. Plus, the ones against the firewall are subject to more heat than the ones at the front of the engine and you don't need to pull the intake to change the front ones. The bottom line, literally, is if you just want to get your car fixed for a reasonable price, you'll likely want to avoid this place. If you are not familiar with how cars work and what things SHOULD cost, it is very likely you'll be taken advantage of.

Negative experience: I took my van for oil change after I got the van back engine light came on. When I took the van back I was told that the engine sensor was bad, but due to someone went through my stuff inside the van I decided to seek second opinion. My other mechanic told me that the engine sensor was unplugged. Beware of service at aaa

Positive experience: I bought my car here for new tires a year ago because I’m a member and they had a terrific deal. The tire replacement went fabulous. However, within days of the replacement I noticed my A/C wasn’t working properly. I took it to a trusted mechanic who told me there was a leak in the AC lines that needed patching and freon refill. It was a fix to the tune of $600 but all was well. The reason review is another customer wrote about an AC issue surfacing after having an unrelated repair at AAA. Merely a coincidence?

Fantastic experience: This is a great place to get your car fixed. They are very professional and courteous. Kyle greets you with a wonderful smile and energy that lifts your spirits even though your cat may be down. He checks you in, keeps you updated as promised, and explains in detail in a way you can understand what they find wrong with the car. Kevin the mechanic is also an example of the great service and quality they provide. He has worked on my Mercedes twice now and I rather bring my car to Rockville AAA than my local dealer. With the great team at AAA, I can see many years and miles out of my car!!! Thanks, guys...

Negative experience: Brought my car in for repairs, everything seemed fine then after driving less than 50 miles the car broke down again. Took it to a different shop who told me the previous repairs likely caused the new damage to the tune of $21,000 and now AAA is denying liability. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Negative experience: I called the General AAA customer service number, and representative. Give me address of this location in order to notarize my document. Representative said that the notarization of title and registration documents are free of charge and there is a fee of four dollars for the other kind of documents. But when I went to this location, they refused to notarize my document.

Fantastic experience: I love coming to this location for service on my cars and membership, especially love working with Kyle(car care) and Ashley(tag and title). I have been treated with such kindness and patience always. Will definitely keep coming here:)

Fantastic experience: I needed to get a proof of insurance card and a copy of my policy. I drove to the nearest office, went straight inside and the receptionist told us to wait for the next rep. In about a minute a rep. came over to help us. Really made things very easy.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience when visiting this AAA. I sat down with a very kind and helpful employee to inquire about getting some road maps for an upcoming trip. He was very nice and enthusiastic, and brought out a large stack of maps. I thanked him, and he even gave me a free reusable bag. A great example of fabulous service!

No pressure to do the work at their shop, but I do because they take my car quickly, they explain everything clearly, and their prices are often less than other places. Positive experience: I noticed I had a nail in my tire. I called to make an appointment for tire repair and tire rotation. They put me on the schedule for the next day. My issues were relatively quick fixes, so it didn't take long. The customer service representatives were nice and professional. No issues. I received my car and noticed the tire repair. They did a good job. I thought it was normal practice to check the PSI of the tires especially if the back need to be 35PSI and the front need to be 32 PSI. They didn't air up or remove air from the tires they rotated. Just be mindful of the manufacturers PSI recommendations. The front right is 30PSI because that was the tire repair tire. The leak was small because I aired it up to 35 PSI the day prior (it was the back right before being rotated). Bonus: They did air up a basketball I received from my Amazon package that I had requested for a pick up location. That was nice of the mechanic.

Fantastic experience: Service received: state safety inspection. From what I understand the price of $97 is expensive for a safety inspection. I am new to the area and felt it was worth the price since they provided a trustworthy, reliable service. Despite needing to remove the tint on my vehicle (from a local shop up the road), the service was super fast and friendly. Reinspection only took 15 minutes after returning. I think I will be returning for other auto related needs!

Negative experience: For the past several years I have dealt with the AAA Rockville Car Care Insurance Travel Center. Recently I took my car in for routine maintenance, requesting an oil change as well as a check of the tires, battery, and fluids. The time for completion was estimated at 1.5 hours; I was told I would be called then. After 2 hours I returned and saw my car in the parking area; no call. The AAA representative who had checked me in told me that there was a problem with the oil pan. It required replacement and would need to be ordered. The cost, including labor, would be approximately $455.00. I asked why she hadn't notified me by phone BEFORE the oil was changed and also asked if it was an emergency. She responded that I could have it repaired the next time I brought the car in for maintenance. She also told me that the tires were balding and that the windshield wipers needed to be replaced. When I stated that I had bought new tires from them less than 2 years ago and had driven relatively little since then, the representative asked me if I was sure I had purchased the tires from them. I responded yes. She then realized that she was looking at someone else's bill. I paid and left, disappointed and disgusted. That was about 2 weeks ago. I didn't drive in very hot weather until yesterday. When I turned on the A/C no cold air was forthcoming. Rather than return to the AAA Rockville Car Care Insurance Travel Center for repair, I am considering finding another service for my automotive needs.

Fantastic experience: I went there the first time because my VW broke down and they suggested bringing it to their own repair shop, which was close by. I decided to try it because my experience with dealerships has been hit or miss over the years. Was pleasantly surprised. I've now been there 3 or 4 times for repairs and oil changes. Staff is always friendly and pleasant and efficient. Don't know a ton about cars but unlike the dealerships I never had to go back twice to fix the same problem. Also, had one issue that they told me was repairable but that they didn't have the equipment to do it - and helped me save $ by directing me to a shop that could make the repair rather than simply making the unncecessary and much more costly replacement. So, so far so good with AAA and I will continue to go to them as my shop of choice as long as the quality service continues.

Fantastic experience: My fiancé and I broke down while traveling to Jersey. They(AAA) towed us to the Rockville car center. From start to finish, the experience was first rate! Mr. Williams was our “car genius”, who was friendly, direct, and came across as honest with our situation... a special order part was required. He helped us get a AAA member discount on a rental car through Hertz. All in all, it didn’t feel like your typical car repair experience, and that’s a good thing!

Fantastic experience: I moved last year from MD, and one of the things I miss about MD is this service station. I always had a good experience with AAA Rockville's mechanic work. Only once (for an axle seal) did I need to price them and go to a competitor for the work. Otherwise, their prices and service were good. They worked on my Smart Car too, which not all mechanics will touch. The people here are also very friendly. The waiting room is solid too. As I recall, though, the folks at the front desk could use new chairs. If they haven't gotten them yet, please get on that, AAA! They deserve chairs that look and feel nice.

Fantastic experience: Always a pleasure even when social distance

Negative experience: Took my car in to have tires mounted and balanced. Tires were not balanced properly and were over inflated. Took the car back in to have the problem addressed only to be told I needed brakes and the tires were not an issue. Explained that my brakes were fine as they were just replaced. I will never use their services again. They have yet to correct the problem even after multiple calls to the manager and corporate.

About 3 weeks after the repairs had been done, I had some complications resulting from the original repair and I took the car to AAA Rockville. Joselin Polanco called AAA corporate for me and was able to have the second set of repairs done under the AAA warranty. She was a huge help and I'm hoping that my car is finally fixed. The professionalism at AAA Rockville and their willingness to help is a breath of fresh air. Joselin Polanco is the best.

Fantastic experience: Just had new tires installed and alignment done last week (purchased from and online tire supplier and shipped to AAA). Very impressed with this location. My first time using AAA. Staff were very welcoming, professional, pricing quoted was honored, and service was done in 2 hours as estimated. They are set up for social distancing and had protective sheilds and hand sanitizer available.... I felt comfortable inside the business. My car feels brand new with the new tires. I inquired about other services offered and was provided info from the staff. Would definitely have my car service work done here in the future and would highly recommend.
