Fantastic experience: I had a car emergency after leaving Johns Hopkins Hospital for medical care and traveling through Frederick MD. (I live in PA). I went to two garages and they refused to help me. I then went to this garage located on 5620 Buckeystown Pike and they helped me. The first person I spoke to was Rafael Isea, their car care service advisor. He was so sweet, polite, respectful (I'm a senior citizen on oxygen) and assured me that they would help me. He listened to me as I was upset by the time I got to their garage as I was concerned they would not help me either. But they did help me. They are very friendly, kind, offered me coffee/snacks and a nice sitting room off of the main area. Mr. Isea even gave me the price to take care of my car before pulling it in for service. Then Walter, the mechanic taking care of my car, was also very nice, answered all of my questions, showed me what was wrong and fixed it temporarily so I could get back home to PA. The parts (flash guard, heat shield, etc. had to be ordered and not in stock). He put the old ones in my trunk at my request and even put all of them in a large plastic bag to protect my trunk carpet, etc. No one can beat their service, compassion, caring, honesty and customer service with a smile. Their prices are very reasonable, too! I then found out the local hotels (like Country Inn and Suites) highly recommend them and have heard nothing but praise and gratitude for this garage and staff helping the clients coming through Frederick, MD.,with any kind of vehicle repair, emergency, etc. I am so grateful for this garage, Mr. Isea and Walter.

Fantastic experience: I have been getting my oil change at Frederick AAA car care location for years. Everyone there is great, professional and very friendly. The Car care manager Mr. Ergueta explain very well if there is something wrong with the vehicle. Negative experience: I took my car in on Saturday to get a simple oil change in preparation to drive my car 10 hours home today (Wednesday) for thanksgiving. They made no comments or suggestions about any other maintenance my car needed. Late Tuesday night the check engine, 4WD, and traction control light turned on out of nowhere so I took it back to triple A the next morning (Wednesday) so they could look at it and explained to them I needed the car to drive 10 hours that day (I don’t live here- I needed to get home). The guy was very rude and said I was gonna have to wait up to 2 hours for them to look, there would be a diagnostic fee, and if anything needed to get fixed I was gonna have to wait until after the holiday. He recommended the Mr. Tire next store who was also very rude. I ended going to Zach’s Auto shop and Zach took a look at my car immediately. All he did was lift the hood to see that when triple A did my oil change they disconnected the air filter hose and never re-engaged it. This caused all 3 lights to turn on. Ironically, triple A was gonna charge me to diagnose a problem that they caused and were negligent for.

Fantastic experience: I am a 57 year member of AAA and have lived in 9 different states. I have experienced a lot of " authorized AAA" repair shops and have been overall very satisfied. BUT- Frederick's AAA care care is clearly the BEST I have encountered over all these years. Frederick's employees are very polite and helpful. They almost anticipate your questions with the appropriate answer without asking. The store is exceptionally clean and well supplies. There is even fresh brewed coffee. Amazing! Most important Mr. Jamil Ergueta, Car Care Manager, was unbelievably attentive to the smallest details of your service needs and kept you informed throughout your stay. I left feeling good about my experience and the quality of the work received. 5 Star rating. Please ! - do not think I am a AAA discipline. AAA's roadside emergency service is terrible! It sucks! Year after year it just becomes worse, never better! Whatever corporate manager runs AAA service centers should be put in charge of Emergency Roadside service and the current manager of roadside service should be asked to leave the company.

Negative experience: I drove 45 minutes to the Frederick AAA office to get an international driver’s permit on Saturday, August 10. I checked the AAA website before I left home (I didn’t just rely on the hours on Google), and it said they were open until 5:00 pm. I showed up at 3:30 pm and a woman working the front desk told me with a snarky attitude that retail closed at 3:00 pm, even though she acknowledged that the website states 5:00 pm. No apology, nothing. You need to post your correct hours on your website and train your staff in customer service.

Negative experience: My experience with this shop was absolutely terrible. I have never experienced such horrible customer service in all my life from any car care center. I am actually considering ending my roadside assistance membership because of my experience with this place. I ended up with a flat tire and had to tow my car. This incident occurred on a Thursday afternoon around 3pm. Since this location was the closest to where my incident occurred I had my car towed here. When I first got there I spoke to Cory who told me that since I dropped my car off late in the afternoon, they would have to work on my car first thing the next morning. I was fine with this and told him that it was OK with me. The next morning, I didn't get a phone call or a notification about the status of my car. I also wasn't able to get anyone on the phone so I decided to stop by at around 11am the next day (Friday). I spoke with Cory and he told me they weren't able to even look at the car yet due to their being very busy. I asked him when he thinks the car would be worked on and he assured me that it would get done by the end of that day (Friday). The hours passed and I still didn't hear back from anyone so I called them at around 5:45pm. Corey told me that they needed to change the tire (duh) but that because it was the end of the workday they wouldn't be able to change the tire until the next morning (Saturday). Remember that this whole time I am the one reaching out to them for updates and that until this point I haven't gotten a phone call explaining the reason behind the lateness or an apology. Finally late Saturday afternoon (not morning) comes and Corey reaches out to me to let me know that I would not only need to change the tire but also repair the area the tire goes around. He told me that this area was damaged and was the reason why the tire blew. He said that if I wanted to repair this area I would have to wait until Wendesday for them to fix it because he needed to order a part. By this time I am pissed because it is Saturday and even if I wanted to take the car somewhere else I couldn't because most auto repair shops are closed on Saturday. I asked Corey if there were any other options and he told me I could pay to get my car towed to where I wanted to get it fixed. But this is on a Saturday and the place I wanted to bring it is of course closed. The reason I am so pissed is because not only did it take nearly three days for them to inspect the car, but the manager of the department kept telling me the car would get fixed sooner than they even looked at it. Not only that he didn't apologize for the horrible inconvenience his lies about when the car would be fixed caused me but I never received updates or phone calls from him about the status of where his department was in handling my car's care. In addition to this, I was unable to make a decision about getting the car fixed because they waited so long to even look at it. Needless to say I am livid about this experience and at this point I don't want them to touch my car at all.

Negative experience: TERRIBLE SERVICE. I had an appointment for an oil change set for 11am. I get there at 11am and sit in the lobby waiting as there was only one car ahead of me. I get up, leave to get some food, come back and around 1pm and the car is still sitting in the same parking spot that I left it in, untouched! They let 3 people in with appointments AFTER MINE in before me. I wait until 3pm when they finally touch my car and then they tell me that they cannot work on my car for whatever reason. TRULY A WASTE OF MY TIME! Never coming here again!

Negative experience: WORST CONSUMER EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE, AND IT'S STILL HAPPENING!!! This was my first time at this shop. I selected it because I trust the AAA name but they totally hung me out to dry. My car was towed into this shop twice in three days, and they didn't do an inspection either time (I'm a delivery driver, my car is regularly maintained and has 312,000 miles on it). ' The first time (Dec. 19) I had a rough idle and a flashing engine light, they said I needed to replace all of my coils ($1,000). I only did one ($200) because I wanted to take it in to my regular shop to see what they thought. Then it failed to start at all (Dec. 21). They told me the problem was the starter and it was unrelated to the coils ($400). Less than 24 hours later, the rough idle and flashing engine light were back. I took it into my regular shop. They could not conclusively diagnose the problem and I decided it wasn't worth further investigation. In addition to other issues, there was a massive oil leak and they recommended that I not put any more money into the vehicle. They were able to get it running again (aka the same result as AAA) by cleaning the spark plugs and making other minor tweaks, so I suspect the new parts didn't make a difference. I spoke to the GM on Dec. 28 and asked why no one told me about the other problems with the car. At first he said the car had been inspected both times but the reports were missing. He said the staff told me the full condition of car both times but that I said I didn’t care and wanted the work done anyway. He was rude, dismissive, and talked down to me. I caught him in multiple contradictions but he continued to evade and put the blame on everyone else. He then told me the car was inspected the first time it was towed in but not the second because it was in too poor condition. I was never asked to sign a waiver regarding the condition of my car when I picked it up after the second tow. He kept repeating over and over “What do you expect? It’s an old car. It’s broken down.” He tried to blame the problems on my regular shop and said they did poor work. He said there was no way that kind of wear and tear can happen in the span of a couple months and they must have messed up or failed to notice. He also said I was lying about how often I service my car. He l kept insisting that they did fix my car because they got it driving again. But I continued having the same problems. I eventually got him to concede that an oil leak could cause the engine to misfire. He said that all they did was plug in the code reader and since it said there was an issue with the starter, they replaced it. But they didn’t even know the leak was there, so they didn’t know if that or something else was causing the starter to malfunction. A mechanic friend who called back on my behalf finally got him to admit that did not inspect the car either time. The GM called me back several minutes later and said he would give me a full refund but I had to return the starter and coil. I brought my car in the same day (Dec. 28) and he took back the new parts but didn’t put my old ones in so it is currently inoperable and stuck at AAA. He told me I would have to pay to get it towed at my own expense. He also said I would be required to sign a "CONFIDENTIAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT AND GENERAL RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS," which I found insensitive, insulting, and completely unacceptable. I filed a complaint with AAA member services on Dec. 28 and spoke to a caseworker Jan. 4 and 5. She said she reached out to upper management at the AAA shop and that he said he called me but I didn’t answer. If they called, they didn't leave a voicemail. The shop won't tell me how to get in contact with this person and the caseworker has not returned any of my numerous calls. TLDR: They still have my car and my money! AAA, call me!

Fantastic experience: Our car broke down in Frederick while we were in town for a wedding. As out of towners, we were so nervous about how we were going to get home. However, we couldn’t have met a more helpful, knowledgeable, kind, and patient group than the staff at this AAA (shoutout to Cory, Anna, and Jamil)! Negative experience: What happened to AAA??? They no longer offer Tour Books! Oh yes you can use a digital one but NO hard copies to lug with you and use on the road! What BS!!!! I have been a loyal customer for 42 years and losing a Tour Book is a game changer!! AAA does not rate any stars but you cannot post unless you give them one!

Positive experience: I made an appointment for an oil change at 9:00 AM, and arrived at 9:00 AM and checked in. They didn't start until 9:30. The process only took about 15 minutes, left by 9:50. It is a nice place to wait, they provide free coffee and snacks. Lots of literary resources available if you plan on travelling. The staff is pleasant, I have only good things to say about them. The only negative thing I have to say is that they aren't too great with keeping your schedule. Even with something as trivial as an oil change. Why make an appointment if they won't start until 30 minutes after?

Negative experience: This shop has gone down hill. I dropped my truck off on Sunday when they were closed because my battery light had come on the last 5 times I drove it. I told them it was likely the alternator, and that the light came on each time within 10 minutes while driving it. They said they could not get the light to come on. I asked if they droved it and they said they had. I asked for them to look at it again and drive it for 10 minutes, because I would be very upset if I picked it up and the light came on after I left. The service manager Mark said he took the truck out himself a 2nd time and the light did not come on, so I picked it up. The odometer only had 2 additional miles on it from when I dropped it off. The light came on within 4 miles after I left. Not only did they do a horrible job diagnosing a simple problem, but I even told them what to do and they refused to do it. Drove it to work the following day and barely made it to the AAA in Rockville before my battery died from the failed alternator. I used to recommend this shop to a lot of people, but I will not any longer.

Negative experience: It's an absolute shame that the quality of their work doesn't coincide with the reputation of the AAA company itself. I had a lot of work done here ( $5,000.00 ) on my truck only to end up in an accident due to my brakes failing. My blower motor was also replaced, but blew out a few months later. I've spent the whole winter without heat, and all summer without air. The mechanics left grease stains all over my door panel, dash, and leather seats. Fantastic experience: I have AAA. I had a tire blow out on my truck and couldn't get the spare out, it was stuck under the truck. They towed me to their shop and got the spare down and put on. Not sure how much it would cost if you aren't a member but was free for me. Great service. Would recommend getting AAA plus for the services they offer, especially if you need a tow or lock your keys in the car like I did.

Negative experience: 0/5 stars for sure! Thought AAA would be different from other auto shops which try scamming you for repairs you don't need. Instead, this AAA tried to charge me almost $3000 to get new brake pads, calipers, rotors, tires, and a bunch of other BS. On top of that, customer service had terrible communication when updating me about my car. So glad I went somewhere else. I could tell immediately when I picked up my car that I had nothing wrong with my tires and when I took it to a different shop, they even said that 80% of what AAA was trying to charge me for was bs. DON'T ASSUME JUST BECAUSE IT'S AAA MEANS THEY WON'T TRY AND SCAM YOU

Negative experience: The assistant manager at the auto car center is not qualified to be rated. The manager refused to check just the battery for possible replacement. They stole my personal belongings by having the door unlocked. They purposely left my SUV window opening for ever. All rains went into it causing moisture of my dried breads and other materials and Food for supplies based farmers, neediest and targeted population. AAA car care center of Cookesville MD took care of me positively the following days my SUV has been towed from AAA Frederick MD (the car stayed at their parking ot more than a month with negligence ...they stole my new jacket 185 dollars (yellow color)

Positive experience: They have some items they have online. Asked for a map, the lady said she thought they were out. I had to ask her to go look to see if they had it. She was a bit hesitant and come to find out they did. When did they stop putting the maps out in the front??

Negative experience: I went in to see about returning my tags. No one greeted me. No one asked if they could help me as I looked around the store seeing where I should go. When I found the tag and title place, I stood there as the woman stared at her computer w/o looking up or acknowledging me. I waited. When she finally looked up, I enquired about returning tags. Her response was "yes, we do that". However they charge $8 to do it. I thought about paying it for convenience(on top of the mbmshp fee members already pay). But the "service" and "hospitality" I received for being a member after walking through the doors wasn't worth 2 cents. I walked out and went to the MVA where they actually greeted me with a smile. Very disappointed in AAA.

Fantastic experience: These people were wonderful! We were moving from Ontario, Canada to Virginia when our car decided to die in Frederick. Through AAA we were towed to this location. They looked at the car quickly, they explained what was going on, offered options and advice. They helped us locate a rental truck so we could get ourselves and our stuff to our new home. It was not a good day for us! But I have told everyone how this place made all the difference between a bad day and a real disaster. Thank you!

Negative experience: Got a $2600 quote when having my under powered battery replace under warranty. I refused to do the extra items they "say" was needed. My brakes and rotors were new 8 months ago. Why would I replace them due to rust? My radiator hoses are fine not cracking etc.

Fantastic experience: Jeremy and Alex are technicians who are godsends! They are a breath of fresh air because they are so patient and knowledgeable. Anytime I have an issue with my vehicles I take it to them. They take the time to explain to me what the issue is, what needs to be done to resolve it and they always give sound advice on the best next steps. Fantastic experience: I have never actually walked into a center, but I was blown away how much they offer for service. I have never had a bad experience with them in the past, thanks for being there every time we need you.

Negative experience: I agree with the most recent reviews. Car was towed by AAA for a bad alternator, however they added at least 15 extra things that were not needed, one being an oil change which had been recently done. Anyhow, total estimate was over $5,000. I paid a tow and got it out of here as quickly as [possible! A few hours later, the car is running again for far less! Anyone looking at this place, read the reviews prior to working with this "shop"

Negative experience: 2 words - scam artists. This was the worst car shop I’ve ever dealt with. My serpentine belt broke and AAA towed it to the “nearest shop.” This shop did a lot of maintenance (things needed to get my car back on the road and also extra stuff like side lights, rear windshield wiper replaced, tires rotated). When I went to pick up my car $1100 later I get in the car and instantly notice the alignment is WAY off. I went back in and told the workers who kept saying nothing they worked on had to do with alignment and they didn’t even drive the car. They drove it from the garage to the parking spot which is plenty of distance to see a crooked car. They took a look and came back out and said you had recent strut work done and that’s why your alignment is off. I had strut work done 5 months ago - I think I’d notice my steering wheel sideways and my traction off and my tires squealing for this long… very unprofessional. So then they deemed it unsafe for me to drive home (1 hr away) and wanted me to sign a liability form. How was it ok for me to drive it out of the shop the first time?! Also you noticed I needed a new rear windshield wiper but didn’t see my car was sideways?? They wanted to keep it another night since no one could do alignment that day. Probably wanted to see what other things “needed work” to squeeze more money out of me. I refused to sign the form and drove it home and got my alignment done at a local shop. There was no damage to the alignment that would’ve suggested it was from the tow. Please do not go to this dishonest shop unless you want to get scammed.

Fantastic experience: Professional service, made suggestions that helped me make my purchase and have the work done at AAA. I wanted new wheels for my car and was concerned with them getting damaged during the process, but they did a perfect job installing the tires and wheels. I highly recommend having your vehicle serviced here and I normally don't have good experiences in auto service, I usually do my own work except where I can't.

Negative experience: Had my truck towed in with a broken universal joint. AAA would not replace the universal joint and instead would only replace the entire driveshaft for an extra approximately $1200. Because I was 4 hrs from my home, I had few good options being stranded. This was very dishonest, I would not do business with this site. Universal joint replacements are inexpensive and easy to perform.

Negative experience: Had to return car the next day for a minor matter. Jeremy apologized but it was a misstep that should be instituted as part of a process for services relating to car batteries. In addition to having my battery recharged, I spent almost $900 for new tires and rear brakes. I have been a AAA member for 50 years. I deserved better customer service!
