Negative experience: I took my car in for routine maintenance on May 23 for routine oil change and safety check. When I got it home I noticed the right headlight was out, so I took it back on May 31. I was charged $54.99 for a replacement bulb and $64.00 to plug it in which took all of five minutes. It was my own fault for agreeing to let them do it, but I still will not be coming back as zi felt the chage was exorbitant.

Fantastic experience: This is the spot everyone needs to start dealing with in the Newport, Bellevue and Covington areas. Used to go to Midas until one of their mechanics lied to me. This establishment is modern, with a very well put together crew, and they take great care of your vehicle. Be here for all of my cars needs from now on.

Negative experience: Everyone was nice but they wanted to charge me almost $560 to replace a hose when my car broke down. It costs less money to rent a dolly and tow it 150 miles myself and have my town mechanic fix the issue. I saved almost $300.

Fantastic experience: BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!. Definitely go here!!!! Absolutely amazing. No, PHENOMENAL !!!!! I couldn't thank these guys more. Scott, the manager, and his crew really took care of me. They had to fix everything attached to one of my tires(stupid semis swerving out of their lane.)These guys went over and beyond for me. After my repairs I still had to get a new rim and tire. Figured why not just get a rIm at the junkyard. I took my car to Michel Tires Plus, in Fort Thomas Kentucky. I have used them before so I figured I'd be safe. Something felt wrong after the out it on, so I took it back here to AAA. Scott informed me that the rim that I brought them was not for my car. That it was extremely dangerous that I was even driving on it. He wouldn't even let me leave with it on. So Michel Tires Plus let me leave their lot knowing something could happen to me. I am so thankful for going to AAA. If it wasn't for them I could have kept driving on that rim and it have fallen off leading to another accident. Scott even went the extra mile. I finally got a new rim and he generously put the tire on the rim and attached it to my car. Also did another once over of the other tires. Thank you so much you guys. Negative experience: Called AAA to repair a blow out on a new tire that was recently purchased at Bob Sumeral in Newport. AAA service was excellent. The car was dropped off on Tuesday. Sean behind the counter did not give good customer service and told us he couldn’t get in to his computer at that time to give us a quote. My husband called before closing and Sean said he could get the tire in a day. We didn’t hear from him on Wednesday. My husband called on Thursday and Sean said the tire would arrive Friday. We called on Saturday and Sean said it would be Monday orTuesday. This whole time we never received an apology or explanation. We picked up the car on Saturday to take it to a more competent place. My daughter drove the car to the new place and realized that Bob Sumeral still had her tire and rim. We go back to pick up the rim and the gentleman with dark hair and beard said “here” to my 90 lb. Daughter and expected her to carry the tire and rim out to the car and lift it into the back. Terrible customer service. I am a 62 year old woman who just had cancer and both breasts removed….I had to go lift it into the car. My husband used to sell insurance at AAA/Bob Sumeral in Newport, but obviously they are lacking in good customer service skills today. We will no longer do business there!!!!!

Negative experience: I purchased an auto policy through your insurance rep Brandon Back (via AAA/Safeco) 2 years ago. Recently I was contacted by the company informing me my rates were going up. I first contacted Brandon via email to inquire on what I could do to get my rate back down. After a few days, I called and left a voice message. several days later he got back to me (over a week total) and said we needed to wait to get closer to the auto renew date on my policy before we could do anything. Once that happened I reached out again via email. No response. I called and left a voicemail a week later - no response. I called several days later again and still no response. I then called the safeco 800 number and got to someone who was able to answer a few simple questions for me - took all of 5 minutes. Long story short I shopped for another insurance vendor and saved myself almost $200 on the same exact policy through Mr Brandon/AAA/safeco. To be honest, had Brandon gotten back to me with any response at all, I probably would have renewed even at the higher rate just out of convenience - however because Brandon chose not to respond to my simple inquiry, I decided to spend my $$ with another company. Bad customer service has its consequences. Hopefully this feedback will not go unnoticed.

Negative experience: They changed out a spare to replace a tire. When I opened my trunk the spare was not replaced to where it should be but thrown on top of my belongings. Also never checked all tire pressure with my oil change because it’s 6 PSI lower than the others. Zero F’s given with this places workers and no cross check. You should be ashamed.

Negative experience: The absolute worst Bob Sumerel ever. Took my car to get checked why it was smelling like gas. I happened to accidentally leave my oil cap off when I changed my oil myself (my fault). However, they degreased my engine, and right when I picked it up, it started running weird and having trouble picking up speed. Two-three days later, my car broke down in the middle of the highway. The Bob Sumerel in Alexandria confirmed that Newport Bob Sumerel sprayed degreaser on my spark plugs which was causing engine issues. They are completely incompetent at Newport Bob Sumerel. Not to mention, a few months back, my brothers had his breaks changed, and right when he left, they caught on fire. I would not recommend this place. They scam you for your money and do not care about anybody’s safety.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE!! My car wouldn't start one day so I called triple aaa and I have a classic membership which gives me a 5 mile radius so I had my car brought here instead of my normal mechanic. They told me my car was throwing two codes that would cause the issue with it not running, 1 for my mass air sensor and 1 for something else that I don't remember the same of. They fixed the issue with mass air sensor, and $215 later my car still was not running, so they told me my fuel pump had gone bad and that would cost another $500+ to fix. I was a little nervous about this so I consulted my normal mechanic and they had me tow my car there. After they thoroughly looked at it, they determined the only thing wrong with my car was that my fuel gauge was broken and I needed gas. Super super annoyed that Bob Sumerel tried to take advantage of a young girl with 0 car knowledge and I am SO SO thankful that for my normal mechanic not doing that. After towing cost I saved over $300.

Negative experience: I recommend NEVER using this mechanic. They pay 0 attention to detail, will jack up a quote if they miss something, and will make every excuse to put the mistake on their customers. The place is an assembly line churning and burning out lackadaisical diagnostics and fixes. The managers happily send you away in a halfway working car which could kill someone and if you bring it back they blame the car and charge you for more insane labor rates. I have never experienced more excuses lack of attention to detail from a business. It is WORTH IT to take your car somewhere else even if you have triple a which I do. Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else!!!

Fantastic experience: I have a 2004 Honda CRV I bought for my daughter used 5 years ago to get her to and from college. 5 years later, many miles, and running great engine wise, I wanted to keep it a bit longer and gift it to one of my nephews or nieces. However the suspension was going to need some TLC. I went to Bob Summerall in Newport and had a talk with Russell Zolonowski. I explained to him I wanted it fixed right as it carries precious cargo, but would still like to keep it within reason. Russ did a detailed analysis, gave me the cost up front, what needed to be done, and what did not. Russ, in my opinion is one of the good ones, honest as the day is long and doesn't sugar coat or try to upsell you. Long story short, the CRV is running great and I know I got a great HONEST deal. I recommend Bob Summerall and in particular Russ Zolonowski, it's refreshing to deal with a trustworthy, straightforward individual with great ethics. David Strotman.

Negative experience: I just realized I never rated my experience here. When I moved to the area, this was the place people recommended for car maintenance and repairs. However, after several routine visits, there always seemed to be another new issue to appear. Things got worse when I had a major replacement done. Not only was I told one price but charged another (major difference), a store worker was mocking me in front of his boss, calling me a liar and talked about how ignorant I was because I didn't know how expensive a specific car part was. I'm not a car person at all so of course I felt shamed. This incident happened maybe 3-4 years ago and I've never been back since. I just hope that employee is still no longer employed.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with this past visit. I had previously used this location for other work. After having two tires replaced, oil change and realignment (Appx $800).... I drove the vehicle home (2 miles). I wake up the next morning to go to work and the battery is DEAD? Coinsidence? I called to ask them about having it looked at and replaced.... They said it would cost me over $250.... I went across the street to Auto Zone and had it replaced for $130 and received a 3 year warranty.

Negative experience: I brought my vehicle in first customer of the day. I was told it would get looked at right away. Several hours later I came back and it still wasn't looked at. The employee said I was the next ticket and about a half hour later I was called and told I would have to wait until Monday it was a holiday weekend. Monday comes around and I dont here from anyone until late in the day and was told I will have to wait till Tuesday for more parts. Tuesday comes around I dont here from them until close to closing that my vehicle is ready. I am very disappointed with my experience.
Positive experience: Went to get passenger rear tire checked, as I sat in waiting room I seen employee take off wrong tire to check . After I went an corrected the situation an was told by employee that he was told wrong by his manager things were great, I guess you have to watch these guys ....some times

Fantastic experience: My car is seven years old and I have always taken it to the Newport location for service. They have never tried to upsell or get me to have any service done until they show and explain what needs to be done and if it has to be done now or later. They are always professional and prompt. As a senior female I really appreciate the honest GREAT service I receive! I don't know most of their names except for Bobby who is always nice and personable with the staff and customer's. Positive experience: The AAA tow truck driver and the other service person who came to my rescue were wonderful! They told me to Bob Sumerel. Tires were a bit pricey, and they tried to sell me four instead of the two I needed, but overall they were good.

Negative experience: I got two tires fixed. 2 days later flat again for $29.95 something like that. I think they only put air it it and not fix what caused it to go flat in first place. I felt they ripped me off pulled a fast one on me saying they took care of it but did nothing

Fantastic experience: I went here because I had previous experience with Bob Sumerall to have the AC checked out on my van. The mechanics spent nearly two hours checking several things and then told me my options and the approximate cost of the repair. Since the van is 20 years old I decided the cost was too high and they agreed with me. Honest mechanics are hard to find. Then I asked what was the charge for the thorough inspection and I was told "Nothing"! If you want my opinion Bob Sumerall is THE place to take your vehicle for whatever you need.

Fantastic experience: I came in for a tire change and was greeted with professionals. The time it took my tire to be changed was average but you cant beat great customer service.
Negative experience: We will not be returning. A word to the wise: if you have a diesel vehicle, do not take it here. This place USED to be the only place I took my vehicles to. I brought my car in for an oil change back on June 2nd. On June 12th, my car flashed an oil pressure light and the engine shut off. I phoned Bob Sumerel right after it happened and Bobby Drake assured me that they were going to take care of it and took full responsibility. I never got an answer to what happened to my car. I suspect it had something to do with it being a diesel engine and them putting the wrong type of oil in it, but I never got confirmation. Traveler's Insurance, Bob Sumerel's insurance company, then started a month-long ordeal of us getting several quotes from other mechanics to get the car back in working order, basically replacing the engine. Traveler's refused to do the repair work citing a KY law that the cost of the repair was more than what the car was worth. The car was considered totaled at this point. Traveler's fought us the entire way and we got no consolation from Bob Sumerel or AAA, despite them saying they were going to "take care of it". From now on, I'll be taking my cars in to the dealer to get serviced. This whole experience left a real bad taste in my mouth for Bob Sumerel, AAA, and Traveler's Insurance. Edit: They reply asking me to reach out to them, I do, and there's no response from them. Edit: Still no response. They obviously do not care that this has happened.

Negative experience: This place is horrible!!!! I took my car in for 2 new tires and an alignment. When I left the car still wasn't aligned so I took it back the next day and again alignment was off, they did it again and let me leave, still not right. I took it to a different place and my steering rack had no bolts in it and they Broke my valve stems!!!! How do you align a car and not notice that? Then the manger was More worried about answering the phone then talking to me!

Fantastic experience: Robert, along with the rest of the staff has helped me with my cars for years. I go across the river any time my car is having issues or just for an oil change. This time I learned how to "LIFT" !!!!!!
Negative experience: Complete waste of time. Don't go there. Not helpful at all. They just want to hurry up and get you out the door. Sad part is, I had the money to spend if someone would just help. That's okay. I'll go somewhere else.

Negative experience: Terrible experience with this place. They told me the radiator hose needed repair and that I had an oil leak in the engine. I paid $694 for repairs only to have the car break down the next day. They then told me that the gasket blew. To make matters worse when they charged me they transposed the numbers taking $964 out of my bank account and requested I come back in several days to have the correct charges placed. I had to have the car towed to a different mechanic at my expense, $125, because they weren't sure if they had the ability to fix the gasket. A
Fantastic experience: did a great job with my A/C, even did a minor repair while they were in there and didn't even charge me for it (loose bolts on calipers). Would highly recommend.
Negative experience: I had my Chrysler Pacifica (60k miles) towed here when it broke down while passing through. They claimed that they hooked it up to their computers and told me my transmission was shot. Quoted me about $3,000 and 5-6 days to fix with a used transmission. I thought it sounded fishy and paid a fellow $400 bucks to tow it two hours back to my home. Had a family member hook it up to their computer. Turns out there was actually nothing wrong at all with the transmission. By the way they charged me $60 for the"diagnostic"
