Fantastic experience: Had excellent customer service this week. Was greeted by Arnie who was so friendly and helpful. He kept me updated and checked on me the whole time as I waited for my car to get replacement batteries.

Fantastic experience: I was assisted with a tow by Joseph who offered that I wait in the truck to stay warm as he was hooking up my car. And when I entered the building I was met with a smiling face from Lauren B, who stayed friendly and patient as I figured out my payment options. She was a doll and super easy to talk to. She explained services and offers, and didn't push the issue when I declined the offers. Lauren is an asset to the Middletown AAA HQ, and I hope her efforts are appreciated by not only the members she's serves, but also by her colleagues and superiors. Thank you, Lauren for your patience and willingness to help me :)

Negative experience: BEWARE of this AAA for car service. ! I had an 8am appointment and dropped my car off the night before for breaks and rotor change. They called at 9am to confirm. I went at 1:45 to pick it up and they’re here telling me they’re just now working on it and on top of that they were charging me for an oil change that I didn’t ask them to do.

Negative experience: Horror show. I went to AAA Middletown when visiting my old hometown recently because my car was making a funny noise on the ride into town. Without taking the car for a drive even across the parking lot they told me I needed new struts, control arms, bushings, battery, and AC unit. They gave me song and dance about they're warranty is better then my dealership. I told them to just replace battery and fix rattle and give me back my car. I went home and guess what? My AC unit and suspension was FINE. The only thing they got right was the new battery but they failed to diagnose the reason I needed a new battery was my alternator was shot and the reason for the noise. They totally tried to rip me off when they saw out of state license plate. And guess what work my friend who recommended I go there needed recently? New struts, bushing, control arm etc. They got him and his girlfriend to do the work. Bad business model to rip people off.

Negative experience: After my experience with the auto shop here I might just cancel my entire AAA membership. Garbage work and garbage people!!!!

Negative experience: After 18 years, I recently cancelled my AAA membership. I now have Allstate Roadside Service. Over the years, I did use AAA (dead battery, flat tire, etc.) and never had an issue. This drastically changed in November of last year, when I paid the AAA Car Care Center in Middletown, NJ $2,821.57 to replace the steering rack on my 2014 Fusion. A staff employee and the manager of the AAA Car Care Center in Middletown, NJ verified that they were going to use Ford parts. .Between November 2023 and March 2024, the steering wheel locked five times. The first two times, AAA staff told my wife and I that there was no problem. The third time a staff employee told my wife and I that the part was defective and AAA supposedly replaced the rack. The fourth time, the AAA manager told my wife and I that a part from a different manufacturer would be needed and supposedly replaced the rack again. The fifth time, the AAA manager told us that they needed to replace the rack with a Ford part, which is what AAA told us initially what they were going to do. The manager also demanded an additional $1,500.00 to fix the problem even though the service is covered by a written two year warranty. In summary, the AAA Middletown NJ Car Care Center misrepresented the services and parts that they were going to provide, lied about what they did provide, did not fix the problem with the steering wheel that they received full payment for and failed to comply with a written warranty contract. I filed complaints with AAA, the Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs and the credit card company. AAA never responded even though I sent ten follow up E-mails to them. The Better Business Bureau closed the case as AAA stopped responding. Consumer Affairs recommended that we sue AAA, which is what my and I will do. We will also be contacting 7 on your side. Do not use AAA’s Car Care Centers, especially if you live in the Middletown, NJ or Eatontown, NJ areas. They are not even worth one star but I was forced to click one star in order to submit my review.

Fantastic experience: What EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I wish other organizations were this professional, thorough, efficient and polite. Clearly, this team is well trained and knowledgeable. Didn't realize they provided so many different services from international drivers licenses, obtaining foreign exchange, car rentals and car rental travel insurance. So efficient and significantly less expensive when compared to other organizations. Kathy Leveson and Kayla Hannafin were incredibly helpful and resourceful. Delivered on follow-up items and provided excellent travel advice. So glad I am a longstanding member (+30 yrs) of AAA and still learning all the benefits of my membership.

Negative experience: Don’t go here! Go to Mr. Tire in Middletown instead. In the winter, Mr. Tire told me that I would need brakes soon and quoted me a little over $500. I decided to start saving and do a little research. Given that I had the AAA card I figured I would go to their store and get a free break inspection to see how much my discount would save me. At AAA I was quoted thousand $1280 for brakes and pads. When I declined their service, their manager Drew Miller, interrogated me on why I declined their service and insisted I tell him who quoted me $500. He said he didn’t believe me and became condescending and rude. He called Mr. tire while I was waiting for my car to confirm the quote. Realizing that I told the truth and that he decided to lower the price to $700. I still refused service. I’ve never been treated with such disrespect. A customer has a right to decline service! He also tried to instill fear in me by telling me that Mr. Tire may not know how to change brakes on my car because they have electric calibrators and I need to be careful. Guess what, Drew? Mr. Tire knew exactly what they were doing and I paid LESS THAN $600 for brakes/rotors and brake fluid flush.

Negative experience: I will never bring my car here again. I made an appointment for an advertised Spring Maintenance Package. I arrived 10 minutes early to have to wait 50 minutes before they even took my car. They took customers without an appointment before me. They were suppose to rotate my tires…they did not. They were suppose to check all fluids…they did not. My power steering and brake fluids were both very low. They seem to spend more time socializing amongst each other than doing the service you have paid for!

Negative experience: They are HORRIBLE. I took my car there for brakes and had to bring it back THREE separate times for them to fix it, then after all that they said I needed new calipers... when I asked why they didn't say that in the first place, the guy tried to tell me that I turned them down, which I didn't. The initial visit I said do whatever needs to be done. The brakes felt better when I had the worn down pads on! For all I know, they probably left the old ones on... Then I went for a tune up, or so I thought. Couple months down the road, a cylinder blew when I was getting on to the parkway... my trusted mechanic said they definitely didn't do a tune up. I had to get all new spark plugs and wiring. They'll charge you a couple thousand and do nothing!

Positive experience: Great for aaa services outside of car care because even with the best membership it will be pricey fix

Fantastic experience: Staff is very efficient, friendly and awesome. Called 515pm and needed battery, they were completed before closing which is 6pm, thank you for your incredible services. Would definitely recommend them. My new battery also has a 3 year full replacement warranty.

Negative experience: Do not drop you car off for repairs on a Friday. They assured me multiple times it would be ready by the end of the day now it won't be ready until Monday. They were missing a part but clearly they have a bad supplier that couldn't deliver before they close. . Anyone I speak too feels like this place is overcharging me as well. I'm highly disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Todd, at this location, took the time to help my girlfriend find her phone in Wilkes Barre Pa. She had just gotten fingerprints done inside the WB location and left her phone on the counter. As we were driving back to the location I was calling the number over and over and Todd answered. Instead of just having me keep calling the WB location, Todd messaged the agents in WB and ultimately helped us find the phone saving us time, money, and aggravation. That is truly a great example of going above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you Todd and keep up the great work.

Negative experience: I brought my car to get a wheel alignment. I had gotten one close to a year ago, so I still had a few months left to get another alignment at no charge. The reason why I went back for an alignment, was? Just a few days prior, I had a wheel rotation... So, when I got my car back... The alignment wasn't right, at all.... The steering wheel wasn't centered the way it should be.... And the vehicle was pulling, slightly towards the right... So, I brought it back to get readjusted and I got it back basically the same.... I'm, very disappointed with this, because.... I never had problems with this place before....

Positive experience: Did tire replacement recent, terrible experience as the broke one of the wheel caps, which is not big deal and they promised to buy are new one but instead next day they called and put silently old one saying they found better one which were “fixed” by applying rubber bend which of cause did not last. Update: After a week received replacement part.

Fantastic experience: Amazing customer service! We tried multiple tire garages to try and find new tires (apparently we have an odd size). Feeling defeated and out of luck, we stumbled upon this location and were so pleasantly surprised! The staff went above and beyond to locate tires - they reached out to their vendor and then had one of their workers travel to pick up the tires - SAME DAY. Altogether, the job was completed within 5 hours of us stopping by. That kind of service is rare to come by these days and honestly it was refreshing to see! They have made a repeat customer out of us. Specials thanks to Manager Drew and staff.

Negative experience: I dropped my car off here on 7/21/23 for an oil change and tire rotation. I had a 10:30am appointment, and was told my car should “definitely” be ready before 2pm and that someone will call me when my car is ready to be picked up. My initial thought was that that’s too long for a simple oil change WITH an appointment. I called at 4pm because I still have not heard if my car was ready to be picked up. When I called asking if my car was ready, I was told it was taking longer than expected because they were “waiting on the oil filter”. My car ended up being ready at 4:45pm. It took over 6 hours for an simple oil change with an appointment, and the tire rotation that I asked to be completed was not done. Would not recommend anyone to come here, this service was ridiculous.

Negative experience: Battery has been dead since I've gotten it. Called AAA for replacement and nothing but a run around for a year. They would charge the battery tell me to use the car to keep it charged. At 84 I really don't have a lot of places to go. But when I pay top dollar for a AAA battery I expect good service. AAA is nothing like it use to be. I get in my car try to start it dead, charge it and told if it happens again their replace it. Over a year finally a new battery. Two and a half hour wait. No appointment, really I barely get the car to the shop and I need an appointment. Take your business elsewhere. AAA NEEDS TO STEP IT UP. ****This was service from this place, read the review. You don't have wait or appointment for roadside assistance. Your response is like your service.

Negative experience: My car was brought there due to the car losing power. The driver side window was down when brought there, because the window was rolled down to talk to the tow truck driver, and the car totally died at that moment. My car was there for 2 full days, was told they had to do a full diagnostic test to see what the issue was. When we got the call I was told it was an electrical issue, and they told us what needed to be taken care of. The car was given back with the window still down, and the guy saying they couldnt get it closed, and that it would require diagnosis. All my windows worked fine before my car was towed, and the only reason my window was down was because of losing power when the tow truck arrived. This issue should have been addressed when they had the car there. I shouldnt have to pay for further diagnosis for an obvious electrical issue that they told us about. I hope that someone reaches out and handles this issue. I am even more worried after reading the horrible reviews on the Facebook page. They said they checked everything, but failed to find out why the window wouldnt close? As of this moment I don't recommend this place. If someone gets back to me and takes care of this issue then I will change my review. I just hope that I don't have to contact someone higher up because it's written on the paperwork that the car arrived with the window down and that they couldnt get it to close. It was 5pm and the place was closing and the guy says they couldn't get the window to close, and it would require another diagnostic test. I just paid to have that done. I don't understand why this wasn't taken care of. I hope that someone gets back to me ASAP.

Negative experience: I got a flat tire and decided to bring my car in to AAA since theyre close by and I am a member. They seemed super helpful and let me drop the car off before they closed that night. Next day, I get a quote for nearly $500 for one tire! No explanation of individual charges and they of course recommend I replace more than just the one tire. Felt very pressured - was told I would have to sign off because I was choosing to go against recommendations. I decided to continue with them since I would be charged a restocking fee if I left to go elsewhere. Was told the car would be ready by end of day but never received a call. I had to call them the following day for status. They seemed to have an incorrect number even though they had called me the day prior and I'm a member - they easily could have double checked. Once I picked up the car and saw charges, member discount was so minimal. I would not go back and use their services

Fantastic experience: Came here to get an international drivers permit. I was pleasantly surprised with the experience in the facility. Very clean and professional, quickly greeted by employees and acknowledged. Everyone was helpful and friendly, and I was attended to in a reasonable amount of time with no issues. I would definitely come back for any of the services this facility provides just given the level of customer service I experienced in a time when many companies are cutting costs.

Positive experience: I use this facility for my travel plans. The travel agent puts a great vacation package together based on our needs and budget. I can't review the car stations but we love being members and they are quite helpful and clean facility.

Negative experience: Actually --- zero stars but it's not an option. Worst experience ever. They left the engine bay a mess, forgot to put parts back on the vehicle, it leaked after their service , and the vehicle has check engine lights after their service. AAA of Middletown essentially broke my vehicle.

Negative experience: Why do you have customers set appointments and then show up and there is no record of it on your computer? Twice this week with the same exact issue. Is the problem that the staff doesn’t know how to enter the data or your data system is glitching? I’ll go to another shop that has respect for my time and business.

Fantastic experience: Wasn't sure what was wrong with my car however they were extremely patient in my trying to explain what I thought was wrong had it fixed within one day the professionalism and courtesy of the staff goes far beyond any mechanics place I have ever been to. Definitely worth joining AAA just for the garage and the mechanics and customer service along with all the other perks

Negative experience: I asked for a specific brand named of tires and they had some brand name I've never heard of. Hope they're great tires! Then my main reason for going here was because I have platinum membership with them so I wanted the discount. Well they only gave $5 off on each tire and I have a very good membership plan with them. Pep boys would've done better on the price and time than AAA I'm extremely disappointed. Waited two hours for two tires...smh! Update: Customer service says to contact them regarding my google review, and I have, yet they haven't emailed or called me back. This just confirms my review above! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Update: So less than a year later and already have a slow leak in one of the tires. I WAS going to bring my car in to use the warranty on the tires but I'm glad I had time to think about it and I'd rather not deal with them AT ALL!

Negative experience: Terrible the worst inexperienced mechanics. No wonder they aren't busy. I should've read the reviews first. Brought my toyota tacoma in for 2 reasons. One was check engine light which I checked with a snap on scanner. The code for the secondary air pump and valve was why the light was on. I told them that I wanted them to check it and he said it'll be $140 to diagnose it. I said I'm not paying 140 for you to tell me it's the pump and valve the same thing I just told you it was. I want you to check and see why. Is the pump not working, is the fuse blown ect ect. He said that's what the 140 is for, we check and diagnose it. I said then I'll pay it. Got a call later I had to get a new pump and valve pump was $900 which I got for $85 valve was $400 which I got for $120. The pump takes 3 minutes to change it had 4 rubber grommets that holds it in 2 hose clamps and aplug 5 minutes to change it. They wanted $1740. Well it wasn't the pump or valve which I returned before I put them in. Because I saw the vacuum hose was broke disconnected and was crushed. I put the hose back on check engine light hasn't came on and it passed inspection. They were going to charge me $1740. For a3minute fix. Put the hose back on. . They are terrible. Then they charge my ac which 4 days later the freon is gone because they just filled it without fixing the leak. Which is why there was no freon in to begin with. The service person said we recharged it and it's $200 if it leaks out bring it back. Really They know it has a hole because there was no freon in to begin with. Don't find the hole first then recharge it. Recharge it then find the hole after it leaks out again so you have to pay 200 to recharge it on top of paying to have the leak fixed. They could've used stop leak also when they recharged it. I wouldn't bring my bicycle to them to be fixed. Micky mouse shop. And I'm a aaa member?

Negative experience: My mom a senior citizen went for a 30.00 oil change they sold her 2 tires that was recently inspected by dealership and was told they were fine, and charged 170 for a wheel alignment. by dealership and was told it was fine. 500 dollars later she was done. So sad they would upsell to a senior. If I could give zero stars I would.

Negative experience: I brought my car here on a tow. They gave me an estimate of 1400 and change. Took it somewhere else and got it fixed for 223. They are a big rip-off. Never will go there again.

Fantastic experience: These guys saved me! I’m from CT and drove up to go to Sandy Hook beach. When i got to the beach, my car shut right off on me and would start back up. I called AAA, they towed my car over to the middletown shop, and they had my car back to me the next morning. Only had to pay $120 and my car was running like new. (I did have to get a hotel for the night but that was fine) Being that I was 2.5 hours away from home, I was stranded and they really came through and got me back on the road when I was freaking out about getting back home.

Negative experience: I specifically told them to rotate my tires. They did not. I marked my rear tire and just as I was looking at it, the person came out and fessed up to not rotating tires.

Negative experience: My tow truck driver recommended I use a reputable AAA care center, and I’m upset I did. I had the car taken there, after a few days I picked it up and the car wasn’t fixed at all besides some coding. The manager (Chris) apologized for a communication error, I brought the car in and after a diagnostic they realized the issue that I said needing replacing was the issue, so they moved ahead to repair. I called to check on the status and was told it would be done shortly, I said no rush I’ll grab it tomorrow. 2 days later and no communication or call; I then call and speak to (Connor) who said the car is still on the lift and the part is wrong, I tell them order the part and replace it. Another 2 days pass, I call and speak to (Raphael), who goes to say “we’ve been waiting for your call, we don’t have your info (I’m an elite AAA member of 5 years). I react as surprised as you would imagination, and then to find out THEY STILL HAVENT ORDERED MY PART. All-in-all the only one who has has been helpful was Chris and even then his lack of communication with his team is pretty scary. Terrible shop, awful communication between shop hands and customers and overall the worst experience I’ve had...and I’m still waiting for my car

Negative experience: Unprofessional, will take weeks for them to even look at your car. I just suggest not going here if you want a great job done on your car. Second time bringing the car in for them to fix one part that they messed up on. And now they’ve kept the car for 1 week and still haven’t fixed the issue. DISAPPOINTED. Don’t waste your time here

Fantastic experience: Yesterday, we were driving on the Parkway and it was 102 degrees outside. Our AC was working fine and then all of a sudden, it started blowing hot air. We called the AAA Middletown car center and 12:30. By the time I got there at 1pm, they had taken our car in immediately. They ran some tests and found out our compressor had died (which with our old car, we weren't surprised about). But, instead of waiting in the service center, they got me a Lyft to our daughters pool party so we wouldn't miss any of it. It took a lot of work to find a new compressor, some of it even on their own personal time after the facility closed, but we had our car back that night and we didn't miss any of our special day. It was above and beyond what we could have asked for. Thank you, specifically to Chris, for all your help. I will be telling everyone about what an amazing experience we had there!
