Our comment from TraTraTravel about Delta Air Lines Inc:
Delta Air Lines Inc is recognized as one of the leading airlines in the United States, offering a blend of exceptional service and extensive reach across six continents. Customers have expressed their appreciation for Delta's great customer service and well-maintained fleet, highlighting reliability and the comfort of its cabins, which include amenities like complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members.
Passengers also rave about the friendly staff and overall positive flight experience on many occasions. However, several reviews point out critical areas needing improvement, particularly in crisis management during delays and cancellations, which have often left travelers stranded without adequate support. Issues with customer service interactions at various checkpoints have been reported, indicating inconsistent experiences.
Others have noted problems related to baggage handling and communication, especially during peak travel times or adverse circumstances. Despite these challenges, Delta Airlines continues to be a preferred choice for many frequent travelers who appreciate its commitment to customer care and operational efficiency.
Delta Air Lines Inc: Reviews
Negative experience: trying to get help for my driver delivering at night and he told me to google it and hung up on me
Fantastic experience: Great customer service
Negative experience: I’m a diamond with Delta and I’ve been flying Delta for years They are the best airline as long as nothing happens. They do not manage crises well at all compared to other airlines. I would give them a one star for crisis management. The computer issues they had in the summer was a disaster. I was stuck for 3 days in Denver and eventually took a United flight because Delta canceled all the flights. This issue affected all airlines, but Delta struggled while other airlines recovered and moved on. I experienced the same problems with the recent weather issue in the southeast. I get the weather causing issues, but the weather cleared and Delta again struggled managing the issue while the other airlines worked through it and moved on. This is a management issue and Delta needs to drastically improve on crisis management. It’s not like the planes can’t take off. I guess Delta tells all the flight crews to stay home and doesn’t care if their customers get home or not.
Negative experience: Just an unorganized and borderline useless customer service experience.
Negative experience: Our flight was supposed to take about 2 hrs, with TSA, boarding, flying, and all, but our flight was late by 4 hours, and we had to wait an additional hour in baggage claim. Because of all this, we might miss our cruise boarding time, and we'll have to fly back home again.
Fantastic experience: Always pretty good service!!
Fantastic experience: Delta is not the cheapest airline in the U.S., but, for infrequent fliers like me, it is worth the price. The service is exceptional, its fleet is well-maintained (the Boeing 757, which hasn't been in production for almost 20 years, is one of it's backbone aircraft) with continually-improved cabins, and you aren't nickeled-and-dimed for amenities (SkyMiles members get free in-air Wi-Fi). Also, how can I forget its legendary Biscoff Cookies? Lastly, Delta or its partner airlines can take you to destinations on six continents. In my opinion, Delta has taken the mantle from the late TWA and Pan-Am as the U.S.'s flagship airline.
Negative experience: Delayed flight from Charleston, made my son miss his next flight by 15 min... at 8pm, they gave him another flight-at 9am the next morning. Unbelievable. Three others also missed that flight. Delta, might want to explain yourself.
Negative experience: Luggage customer service experience was disappointing. We had to go check and see if or where our bags were, and the guy was less than helpful. I understand that obviously he can not control anything, and he is just there for a resource. But this person demeanor was not professional. He was boardline excited to give us bad news. Simple question,"How long do you think it will take to retrieve our luggage?" A long time. "What would be considered a long time?" 2-6 hours. With joyment on his face. Mind you, this is 9pm. Person should be terminated.
Negative experience: Shockingly bad experience. The gate agent in RDU forced my mother to check her bag at the gate or “not get on the flight”. Then she arrives in ATL and waits at the carousel for 30 minutes before going to ask for help. One guy really tried to help by calling down in the back and looking around for about 15 minutes. The next step was talking with a service agent. Since they couldn’t find the bag below and I had already circled the airport about 6 or 7 times, one person offered to let her file a claim for missing baggage. She began filing the claim when a second agent comes over to interfere and tell her she can just wait for another 20 minutes and see what happens before filing a claim. It had been over an hour at this point. However the first agent had some courage and basically told the other agent to mind her own business. I fly with Delta exclusively, so this really shocked me but I’ve heard from a lot of colleagues and friends their customer service has been on the decline recently. So, the fun part. She files a claim, we are driving to my house and when we are nearly home 45 minutes or so later, she gets a notification that her bag is at the carousel. No big deal at this point because it should be being delivered today from their shuttle service. This isn’t the first time I’ve dealt with this so we thought it was inconvenient but fine enough. The day goes on and we don’t hear anything so she calls the number on the claim they ticket they gave her, which is only to an automated service thing that keeps telling her her bag is at the carousel. We called back again and said “speak to agent” probably 25 times before finally getting through to customer service (22 minutes of waiting for that). Finally someone answers and says yes it at the carousel still. Transfers us over the baggage (another wait). I’d been on the fence about dropping my delta cc because of recent changes to the “perks” which basically no longer exist. Now, after hours and hours of trying to work with Delta I completely empathize with so many others, and I probably will drop the card. Who knows if we’ll actually get our bag.
Negative experience: I normally proud myself on flying delta but today has taken the cake. 4 delay only to get cancelled and I’m sure with all the data they have they saw this coming and could have went ahead and provided a update. Now I have to travel back home because this trip is a no go.
Negative experience: Just horrible service by ground staffs and customer no service. Not sure if they are inept, angry, or get an award for being mean to customers. It must take work to be this bad. I took Uber for 80 minutes to have my flight delayed twice before being cancelled. One was bad, but this happened three times. Add to that that the fat agents were just mean. Delta lost my bag and after being on hold for 8 hours and 18 minutes they insisted I had to go the baggage service at ATL to get bag before my rebooked flight. After standing in line over an hour they informed me my bag somehow ended up at my destination. Then they cancelled my flight again. A few days letter they rescheduled again. This flight was over 6 hours late. Why does Delta go out of its way to make flying such a bad experience?
Negative experience: Very poor service for disabled people
Fantastic experience: The international flight from Cape Town to Atlanta was smooth with very little turbulence. The staff was very friendly. But this is the 3rd time that I requested a diabetic meal, and the chicken was tough and stringy, the taste was excellent. The choice of bread and dry fruit isn’t recommended for a diabetic. I understand that it’s a long flight that the texture can change but I was unable to eat the chicken, and I know that you would like for me to share it because you strive for excellence and still deserve the 5 star
Negative experience: Horrible experience out of Atlanta, won't fly with Delta or through Atlanta again
Negative experience: Do not book!! I repeat terrible deals and also for customer service does not really help.. if you booook with them GOOD LUCK!!
Fantastic experience: March 20th 20024 DL0064, Auckland to LA flight fantastic crew!!!
Negative experience: It should be illegal the flights set up in a manner that is impossible to catch your connecting flight then be told you are not a priority. To bad we sold you a flight that there was no way anyone could get from the location in the airport to the other location to catch the connecting flight because of the way Delta set the time line line up. One landing as the connecting flight is loading and to make it worse they tell you they will hold the flight only to tell you when you get there to bad your not a priority. We’ll maybe it’s time your not a priority
Negative experience: Not sure why Delta manages to say their flights leave on time, stand on the runway for 25 minutes, get into Atlanta late for connecting flights, change passenger flights to later to B28, then move to A01, then A02 and finally A24. Who is the rookie that manages the assignment of gates.
Fantastic experience: Great airlines, with friendly customer service reps.
Positive experience: Went there for work.
Fantastic experience: I just can't say enough about Delta Airlines They are the Greatest.
Negative experience: We need to elect people that will punish the airline industry for their delays and lack of professionalism. Delta is just as bad as Spirit pathetic
Negative experience: Where is Maia?
Negative experience: Please take care of booking Delta. They lost my baggage and brought it almost just 2 days later. Had several stuff in that was need for my business. Delta told me to buy needed things and claim. Just bought the absolutely most important (less than $100). Now even after several e-mails with various excuses of Delta, they didn't pay for it. 5 months ago happened.. Very disappointing - that would be the absolutely minimum in such case. Never fly Delta again.
Negative experience: Changing my seat last minute before departure is not cool. This is your report card for this action.
Negative experience: First let me start off that I fly Delta out of any other airline. My recent experience was nothing short of devastating. I have a young adult who has disabilities. I researched people flying with disabilities and found that there is a code you can put on the ticket to alert airline staff of this. DPNA code which stands for disabled passenger with intellectual or developmental disabilities needing assistance. I confirmed before the flight that the code was there. This was on flight 1054 from JFK to ATL. No problems in NY however when she arrived in Atlanta she had to wait for wheelchair service (no problem) what happened next is just disastrous. The wheelchair service gets her, she stated she needed to use the restroom, he stopped she went in and when she came out he had left. He left an individual with disabilities that had no clue how to navigate this airport. Just abandoned her. I had no clue where in the airport she was nor could she describe where she was. In the midst of all of that her phone dies. Can you image the fear. She must have saw a plug and plugged it in but by this time I was frantic and on the phone with Delta in the airport who put a search out for her. Whoever the rep was I thank God for her. She exemplified nothing but excellence in customer service and genuine care and concern. My daughter was found and returned to me safely but this should have never happened. That code does nothing and most people I spoke with even in booking her ticket didn't know what it meant. There is no real service it's just wheelchair service. I was so disgusted with this entire scenario. I filed a complaint but they have not even contacted me. I was offered a credit yes but seriously that was not enough for the anguish. I pray this never happens to anyone else.
Negative experience: Made my mom sleep in a airport after canceled flight. No voucher for food or hotel. Shame. She slept on a gifted beach towel and her foot was still healing from surgery and when Delta manager Larry Holley was told she needed help, he didn't care-at all.
Fantastic experience: Best airline in the buisness.
Fantastic experience: Best job for young people who are people oriented.
Fantastic experience: Booking on the airline ticket center was easy and was followed up by one of travel advisors the following day. Hopefully things will work out with my trip hitch free. I'll book through them again!
Fantastic experience: Romel ask me for getting WestJet Airline tickets. And I am happy with their service.
Negative experience: THIS NUMBER IS A SCAM. THIS IS NOT DELTA. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION. IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS WITH ANYTHING AT ALL, CALL THE ACTAUL DELTA NUMBER.
Negative experience: This morning I had the absolute worst airline experience in my fifty years of flying...and it was caused by my hitherto favorite airline, Delta. I was in the process of checking baggage for a flight to Nantucket for the first family gathering since COVID, something for which we've planned for over a year. At the LITERAL last moment, Delta cancelled the flight, and automatically booked me for the following day (by which time the event was to have ended), with THREE stops and a downgrade to coach. When I finally got through to agent (over 90 minutes later), I got the standard "apologies for the inconvenience and we want you to know Delta cares about customer satisfaction" dodge. Did the agent ask what damage Delta's action caused? No. Did the agent offer Delta's compensation for the significant monetary loss I incurred because of it? Horrors, no! This is another example of a big corporation feeding us advertising gimmicks instead of providing genuine customer service and focus. I am disgusted beyond words. Oh...Delta did agree to refund the ticket since I had bought a refundable ticket...guess it didn't have a choice there. Will be investigation Amtrak the next time I want to go somewhere.
Fantastic experience: Visited Cargo area, staff is great to work with.
Negative experience: Plane broke down. 3h delay because of broken plane they can't figure out how to fix. They can't move the gate because I guess they have no working planes. Not to mention they killed millions of Bees.
Negative experience: No need to write a long review. Apparently everyone has the same experience with planes breaking down sitting around then being told to get off then get another plane to have to wait for a shift change and system was not updated to be able to scan bags to have bags loaded with no guarantee of departure. The sad part is that Delta doesn’t compensate you for the inconvenience. There is a reason I always fly Southwest over any other air carrier. Will need to talk to my corporate office when I get back about their providers for travel.
Positive experience: So if you want me to give you my money to fly on your airplanes then you need to end mask BS on your planes and in the airport. Until then I hope you starve.
Fantastic experience: Great experience!!!
Negative experience: Delays are now more often than NOT delayed. That’s totally unacceptable.
Negative experience: Most times ok but today kicked off my return fight because of no reference to my service dog that I have been flying with over 2 years. I have all emails but woman at desk was just nasty to me after 2 hours on the phone and my dog laying next to me she said my dog is not a service animal because she bark lightly at another dog
Negative experience: I traveled to NY in October of 2021 and on my return flight they asked me to volunteer my seat in exchange for a $800 voucher. Although it sounded good at the time is has been a complete nightmare. I was told that I could use the voucher however I would like. Well I chose to have $500 applied for flight benefits and the other $300 for gift cards. I have yet to received my gift cards. Every time I call either Delta or Delta's choice I get the round around. In addition to that you have to wait on hold for a CSR or wait until you're called back all to get the same run around all over again. It is ridiculous I will know next time that Delta CANNOT be TRUSTED with this process. IF I ever fly Delta again I will be certain NOT to give up my seat!
Negative experience: Waited 40 minutes to tell us the planes a pos and we have to go back to the gate. Waited another 40 for that. Still waiting..
Fantastic experience: Great service. On ground and during the flight. Flight attendants very friendly. :D
Negative experience: The guy at the gate D9a on 29 of september at 8.36 pm was so rude with me. I walk foward to him to ask about my sit number and he yelled at me “noo yet no yet” and I have not ask anything yet. I always fly with delta but this Will be my lasttime that me and my family fly for this guy so rude. (Atlanta AirPort )
Positive experience: Premium Select seat @ Delta are really worth as its cost
Negative experience: The delayed flights are OUT OF CONTROL
Fantastic experience: Best... PERIOD. No need.to say anything else...the record speak.for.the company.
Negative experience: The chunky white lady with glasses ruined the whole morning experience. Asking people for their tickets. I had to pull my mask down to unlock my phone to show the ticket to bipass, the biatch says, “put your mask up”. Rude agents don’t belong working for Delta airlines….I understand mask nazis cdc rules exist, but please train your employees to treat paying business customers with respect!
Negative experience: Aweful service! We had to wait 7 hrs for flight to depart, first they said due to mechanical failure flight is delayed for 1 and half hour, then they said the flight has been changed and will now depart after 4 hours and atlast they came up with there's no pilot to fly the aircraft! So annoying! Wasted whole day at the airport and still they don't give any refunds on delayed flights.
Negative experience: I have been trying to contact Delta over the phone all day. I selected the call-back option, and when the Delta computer called me back, I answered and then the machine hung up on me. This happened two times in a row. Ethical restraints on my public vocabulary hinder accurate, full-orbed comment regarding Delta Airlines' customer service. It is trash.
Negative experience: 1star, since I’m a minor and can’t fly by myself my aunt has come with me. And when I say it’s the worse it is. Our flight has been changed so many times along with our seats! The staff (except for a few) are rude for no reason at all. And the wait time is 4 hours long! They also busted up her suitcase. Ps we aren’t flying with you anymore Also thank you to the one lady from Fort Myers air port your the only helpful person
Positive experience: Great experience with them every time. Fight crew members were awesome .
Negative experience: Waiting almost two hours to speak to so?This is crazy. Why don't they have enough agents.
Negative experience: I’ve never experienced a flight that’s interrupted so often by either marketing or a flight attendant that seems to enjoy the sound of their own voice. We get it—wear your mask in the plane; even though HEPA filters are required for airplanes. Looking forward to road trips in the future. We would rather suffer by driving for 8-12hrs than be required to wear something that you can still smell through. The particles of a virus are smaller than anything you could smell. Come on, Delta.
Negative experience: Multiple staff at the help desk seem bothered to be at work and definitely need some customer service training. I will not be flying delta again-at least not through this airport. Total trash!
Negative experience: I'm now boycotting what used to be the finest airline in usa because of the va c c ine for employees requirement. Sad too had a few trips to europe I wanted to spend with them. Now I will try to find a way over on a boat because airline industry is dead.
Negative experience: I politely asked the staff at the check in counter a simple question and she was very rude for no reason at all. Typically Delta staff are great and very polite. But I don’t appreciate being treated rudely and this makes me reconsider choosing Delta and flying through ATL.
Positive experience: I'd just like to say your announcements ask the customers to arrive at their gate at least 15 minutes prior. On our flight however we were late to take off due to flight attendants having to be retrieved from the hotel. Because they were running 30 minutes late. Suppose all delays these days are chalked up to covid and called a day.
Positive experience: Airline is bleeding money. Airline requires masks for flights. Airline still wonders why its bleeding money. Airline dies.
Fantastic experience: Best airline! I have been flying with them for over years in the states and out of the country. They have not disappointed once! They are nice, professional, and well organized. When I say it , it’s because I have flown on all the other airlines. I have gone with American Airlines, Spirit, Aeromexico , and United Airlines. Therefore Delta has been the best, and I will keep using unless I have no other choice and fly with another airline.
Positive experience: Due to the pandemic I did not have to sit next to anyone directly and for the price the service and amenities are pretty good. If you're torn between multiple Air Lines at similar price point, pick Delta.
Fantastic experience: Old school values... With New school culture! Wouldn't have it any other way! People first!
Positive experience: Clran and organiza boarding
Positive experience: Thank you Delta for making sure your customers were taken care of on flight DL1207 from San Antonio to Atlanta. While the flight was delayed by 45 minutes-- the flight crew, including the pilots, made every effort to make up lost time while in air. I did miss my connecting flight to Washington DC by 3 minutes and was expecting to be greeted with another "snack pack" and have a blanket thrown at me while napping on a cold bench at the airport but this did not happen. Instead I was quickly greeted and was given a voucher for a free night at the Westin and my flight was already rescheduled for the very next morning. This was handled promptly and tactfully. My grandpas funeral is in a day and this has been stressful enough but this experience made traveling hassle free and set a new standard for customer care. I will definitely recommend Delta to friends, family, and businesses in the future!
Positive experience: Only airline I fly. With COVID things suck like no hard liquor or hot food but airline is still The best.
Fantastic experience: Great service!
Positive experience: Staff at the gates is just so rude like no other state I’ve been, you ask them a simple question and they act like if you are bothering them (isn’t it that their job?) I’ll give it a 3 because the flight attendance was super nice.
Fantastic experience: Not a big Delta flyer but that may change, amazing crew members on my flight
Fantastic experience: I.Love this Credit union....Best bank in America
Fantastic experience: Most awesome and best airline
Fantastic experience: Me my and kids love to see the airplanes go .my sister and my mom work there.
Negative experience: Flying from Indianapolis to Atlanta then to pcb. My plane leaving Indy was delayed because of no catering!! When I arrived in ATL, I had 20 min between flights. After I ran across the airport the gate agent closed the door right in front of me !! He said their policy is to close the door 10 min before scheduled time! Ok fine. So I am boarding the ATL to pcb plane, all the people are on board 30 min before departure time. Then the gate agent finds an I phone at the gate. The planes door did not close untill 10 minutes after the departure time!!!! So my question to Delta: is a I phone more valuable to you then a person!!! Sounds like it is. You hold the plane because of a lost phone but not for a person that you clearly know is coming!! Thanks for making me feel welcome!!! Worst feeling ever!!!
Negative experience: I will not fly first class on Delta again. You pay extra to fly first class. You should have to put up with rude flight crew. They ask you, would you like anything.I asked. What do you have?. I never got an answer. So. What can I get?. I never got anything. Never got an answer.. So. What I wanted is to be left alone. I did not get that either. Very unhappy with first class mistake I made. I won't fly first class Delta again.
Zwei Tage vorher blenden sie dir ein "you received upgrade (stand by)".
Negative experience: Not understanding what’s so hard about being a human being to other human beings. Customer service shouldn’t just be for diamond members but for all passengers boarding the aircraft. The man representing delta for the 3:59 to San Jose flight from Atlanta did a horrible job today. The attitude, and his shrewdness wasn’t necessary. Professionalism should be exhibited not hostile and unapproachable behavior. And to be real, it takes more energy being mean than it is being nice. Teach and train your employees on kindness. My day went from beautiful to horrible all because of terrible customer service.
Negative experience: Horrible experience with Delta seating arrangements. Do not tell us you will make arrangements for us and then when we get to the gate to board everything is wrong.
Negative experience: terrible boarding arrangement
Fantastic experience: I pay the same rate as everyone in economy but ended up in seat 36b, with a seat that doesn’t recline and has no window and had the only armrest that doesn’t go up. I truly hate delta with a passion as I’m writing this getting off the plane. EDIT: delta contacted me after I filed an online complaint and sent me a $50 gift card of my choice. I appreciate that they actually took action to make the situation right, so I’ve adjusted my star rating and no longer hate delta with a passion and respect their dedication to make a bad situation better. I feel that is appropriate compensation for the issue at hand.
Fantastic experience: I love Delta airlines. In fact it’s the only airline I love. The culture and the people make it exceptional. I always get treated like an important customer. The planes are comfy; the technology is up to date; the lounges are superb; the staff is like Chick-fil-A’s (basically they’re angels in a purple uniform). If I didn’t have a job that I couldn’t leave, I’d work for Delta—I love it that much.
Fantastic experience: Great airlines
Fantastic experience: I've never had any issue with Delta. The flight between Charlotte and Atlanta has no beverages or snacks. Between Atlanta and New Orleans, there is for the front half of the plane, but they rarely make it past the midpoint. But there is a movie on the flight between NOLA and ATL, so there is that. Flight attendants are friendly enough.
Negative experience: Flight got delayed ✈️ due to weather, and so we missed our flight. I can understand that. Unfortunately because it wasnt a mechanical issue or a crew problem, they wouldnt get us a hotel or food voucher and the next flight out wasnt until 24 hours later. What I can’t understand is why the Delta Airlines customer service agents treated the Brazilian girls next to us like trash. The black lady with Delores screams out to one of them “why you looking at me like that?!?” Just a lack of professionalism and sub par customer service is what I witnessed.
Fantastic experience: The best air lines
Fantastic experience: As an Atlanta native there's no other way to fly
Fantastic experience: Pretty good air line, but duct tapping the planes together seems sub standard. I hope I survive the flight.
Excelente servicio. Muy recomendable. Usaré está compañía en el futuro
Fantastic experience: Awesome Airline
Fantastic experience: We had a big problem at the customer service desk, but it wasn’t anything Juan couldn’t overcome. He is the most caring and helpful man I have ever met. This man is a living legend. He is great along with the other delta staff. THANK YOU JUAN!!
Negative experience: The customer service could not be worse. Just trying to see if I could get seats assigned so that my wife and I could sit together and we got the run-around. Main check in said to work with the boarding gate. Boarding gate said to try customer service. Customer service sent me back to the boarding gate. Boarding gate then said I had to wait one hour before boarding. Checked back and was told "no", it's one hour before flight. Finally just told no. In the meantime we were ignored by three Delta employees who were arguing about their supervisor and avoiding eye contact with us. I would have preferred a flat "no, we can't do that" in the beginning. Just be honest and tell us that we are just cargo in your eyes and at least I know what to expect. I will never fly Delta again. Travelling is stressful enough without being treated like an inconvenience by the employees.
Fantastic experience: DL837 Atlanta to Honolulu
Fantastic experience: Super Airline, top Service u freundlich. Fliege immer mit Delta wenn ich kann.
Fantastic experience: My favorite Airline
Fantastic experience: Fly Delta for safe reliable transportation
Positive experience: Hard to pick up your load.so there's a wait time.
Positive experience: Have overall had a good experience with Delta over the years, but the flight to Tokyo today was the exception. Food refrigeration went out after takeoff in business class, so only got one meal on 13 hour flight. You should make sure everything works on your brand new A350 before putting passengers on it.
