Fantastic experience: Transatlantic Cruise Marian Blessing is our travel advisor, and her assistance actually enabled us to take this trip in that she was able to obtain a cabin for us that appeared to be otherwise unavailable, and as always, she was there to assist us or answer questions for any issues that arose. Marian has been an invaluable resource to us when planning any travel.

Fantastic experience: Marian Blessing has been our travel agent for years. Several of us widows always have her book our trips. She is so thorough and helps us plan, finds parking lots for our cruises, checks us in, also is great on getting us tour groups when we fly to Europe. Fantastic experience: Jeanne Huth booked a great week for us in Sedona, AZ at L'Auberge de Sedona. Beautiful place to stay in the heart of town. Very friendly staff and right along a creek. Provide transportation within one mile of hotel for restaurants, etc.

She truly handled and advised us on every detail. Fantastic experience: Antarctica expedition Julia Starling put together a wonderful trip for me to go to my seventh continent, Antarctica. I hadn’t realized until I went to Australia last year (on a trip Julia organized) and met people that had been to Antarctica, that you could actually go there. I worked with Julia to put together a tour where I could actually set foot on Antarctica! She knew that Intrepid was a reliable expedition operator and found the trip for me to realize my dream. The trip was two weeks long, and we went out about twice a day for 7 days in small zodiac boats to look at whales, penguins, and seals. There’s an amazing abundance of wildlife in Antarctica. The trip was perfect for me with 200 people that were also on this expedition. This allowed half of us to be on land, looking at wildlife while the other half was looking at wildlife in the water. Julia set up the perfect trip for me with Intrepid. She also chose excellent flights and the hotel I stayed in in Buenos Aires.

Any question or concern I had Patty would answer, even though it might have been a silly one. I originally called her to see if she thought this was the right cruise for us and if there was more value in a different trip. Fantastic experience: Jeanne Huth arranged travel to Quebec City and Silverseas cruise to northeastern Canada. As she has always done, the arrangements were great and the trip a huge success. It was a beautiful ship with about 320 passengers. Great accomodations with great food and very relaxing. Unlike many trips where there are special things to see, this was more about beautiful scenery and hikes with awesome views though there were some other options. We were worried about it perhaps being a little stuffy with dress requirements but this was not the case as there were many options. Jeanne never disappoints.

My multigenerational family recently completed our second international vacation that she planned for us. She makes travel worry free, thinking of every detail. Fantastic experience: I started working with travel planner Jeanne Huth at Odyssey Travel a few years ago when a trip to England was going to have multiple stops in places I'd not visited before. She handled it all beautifully so I've been using her ever since. And, when a situation arises causing the need to change your plans...having a professional handle that provides unbelievable peace of mind. Plus...she's fun to work with and is a professional of great expertise.

Fantastic experience: Review for Odyssey Travel, organized for us by Cindy Bryant We had a wonderful trip, rather long and complicated but it all came together and we accomplished everything we wanted to do. In Bayeux, the Hotel Churchill was lovely, very friendly, well located, and with a very nice breakfast. Food in Bayeux was outstanding. But we couldn’t take pictures of the tapestry, which was a stunning work of art. The tour of the American beaches in Normandy was good, but we realized that for people who are totally into the D-Day experience you would need at least three full days. There are little museums everywhere. We saw enough for us with the tour Cindy set up for us. Mont St Michel was breathtaking, absolutely worth the trip. Having the guide was good because even in April the narrow streets are crowded, but she took us up to the monastery by a back route. This location is always crowded, even in the off-season. The driver who took us from Bayeux to Lille was great; on the ball, spoke good English, and had done his homework with the public records so he knew exactly where to find my grandfather's grave in the Abbeville cemetery. That guy is a keeper. The Mercure Vieux Lille also had a very nice breakfast, good location, and good electrical service. Lille is lovely and worth a visit in its own right. The area has many war memorials, including one for the carrier pigeons and their keepers. Local specialty is Welsh Rarebit. Really! Who knew? We were unable to book a Flanders battlefield tour with one of the established guides - they book out many months in advance - but put together our own little tour with the help of an Uber driver, and found the grave we were looking for. It cost about E250, cheaper than a professional guide. You can go back and forth across the Belgian border without any formalities. Connections to CDG and London by rail worked smoothly, very comfortable and quick. The LNER trains to Edinburgh and back to London were also good. We were served nice meals on the Eurostar and LNER train trips. The Gyle hotel in London is very good for connections to Scotland and Europe through King's Cross Station and St Pancras Station. We were concerned about getting to Gatwick, which usually takes a Tube train to Victoria and a Gatwick express train to the airport. We found that the newer Thameslink line from Luton Airport (North of London) to Gatwick was very useful, as we got on at St Pancras and went to Gatwick in about an hour without having to change trains. Only GBP 42 for the three of us, no need to book in advance as you can buy tickets from the machines with a credit card. In Scotland, we liked both hotels. Kingsmills is what I would call POSH, definitely upper crust. Mackays in Wick was the best experience for us. It is quite small, but it has an elevator and good electrical services, and the staff, especially the owner, were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The owner knows everyone in town, so when we needed to set up a tour of the Old Pulteney distillery, he was able to use his personal contacts there to get us on the list at short notice. Food here was outstanding, the dining room is always crowded with locals, who outnumber the hotel guests. The whiskey bar has an amazing selection, reasonably priced. Caithness, the northernmost county in Scotland, was spectacular. We had a lovely stay in Guernsey at the Fermain Valley Hotel, which we chose for its closeness to my sister's house. We really had a great trip with our kids, and I'm sure they will remember it for many years. Thanks again for all your help.

Fantastic experience: Galapagos Island Adventure! Marian made all of the arrangements for us for our wonderful trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. The Flora was a great excursion ship from Celebrity and our cabin was perfect for us. The scenery and wildlife were amazing! Marian took care of us throughout the planning and booking process, which ended up having the Machu Picchu portion cancelled at the last minute due to rioting in Peru. Marian was on the spot when we needed her to handle the short-notice flight changes and other things that come with those things. Another homerun for Marian for us! This was our 66th country and Marian has helped us through nearly all of those other 65! Thank you, Marian!

Fantastic experience: Our latest trip planned by Odyssey Travel was wonderful, why? Because they are good listeners who pick up on our personal tastes and special needs. We have been working with Karen Upchurch for years, doesn’t matter where we want to go, she puts together a program that has all the things we ask for and then some. Our recent trip to the Southern Caribbean on the Seabourn Sojourn, is a great example. This ship is small enough to go into ports that can’t be visited by larger ships. Tobago – We were the first cruise ship to visit here since March 2020. We tendered into the small town and were warmly welcomed by the locals singing and dancing. Without the commercialized tourism touch, it was delightful! Boquia, St Vincent & the Grenadines – Another beautiful small town with over 150 boats of various sizes anchored in the harbor and colorful buildings cascading down the mountain sides. And, who can’t enjoy, at the end of the day, a cocktail served by such a delightful staff? If you want to take a “top of the scale” journey, with places off the beaten path, Karen and the staff at Odyssey Travel is the place to go.

We have just completed an Antarctic expedition arranged by Sherry and Odyssey. Sherry is a wonderful travel advisor and agent. She is a consummate professional. Her recommendations are spot on. Fantastic experience: She is very easy to work with; has lots of good suggestions but isn't pushy about the selections we were considering. She follows up on things that are coming due, so we don't get caught off guard. Our family is spread out in three locations. She did an excellent job of "herding cats" to keep us all on the same page. At one point we had three family members attending one luau and one at another. Jacky worked with the cruise line to get us all in the same event. We are very pleased with her work and are now working with her on a second cruise.
