Negative experience: AAA gave bad advice. They told me that I needed a new fuel injection throttle body for $2,000. Then they said that they found an OEM part that was $500 less (really?). I was also told that the battery was not AAA and needed to be replaced. I had to produce a receipt not only showing that it was indeed a AAA battery but it was still under warranty. I told them to replace the battery and they replaced it under warranty. They charged me $90 for diagnostics and then when I started the car it was fine. All it needed was a new battery. I drove it to an auto mechanic and he checked everything out and the car is fine. I would have been out $2,000 had I not produced the battery receipt. Dont trust this shop. They dont do a good job of diagnosing problems. They have no credibility in my mind. Dan

Negative experience: I've had now two bad experiences with the service department here, but tonight just was terrible. I had a coupon for a free oil change. I knew to call ahead and make sure to understand the cost for a non-standard oil change (i.e. synthetic oil). They had this already in my reservation, so that was all fine. When they called to tell me that my oil had changed, they indicated there was a nail in my tire and asked if I wanted it fixed for $29.99. I called my normal tire place and they were open, so I called back and declined. The person then proceeded to tell me that they could hear the leak to try and use some scare tactic. (My tire person is very close, so I still declined). As I was getting to my car, the mechanic had realized he left his vape pen in my car. Ok great. Then, I go to my tire place and guess what....no nail or screw to be found. I fully think they lied to me to try and squeeze more money out of me. I won't go into what happened the first time, but this was just abysmal and I would steer clear of getting service done on your car here. I'm also considering not renewing my AAA membership as this is just an awful business practice.

Negative experience: I'm going to give this location a solid two stars. They have free bottled water and a clean waiting area. The state inspection process is very thorough, and they found some small repairs. The inspector left out a number on my VIN and I had to go back to tag and title place again to get this fixed. Seems like a small error but the MVA folks won't process it without the correct VIN number. The labor price is reasonable. Will, the general manager has been very helpful in working to get the repairs completed and apologize for the training issues.

Negative experience: If I could leave zero reviews I absolutely would. I had a terrible experience at the AAA Automotive Shop in Annapolis on Somerville Road. After my car was towed there on 1/15 for a battery issue, communication was almost nonexistent. I was told they might not get to my car until the next day and later informed it would take even longer due to a mechanic calling out. This lack of transparency and repeated delays caused me to miss two days of work for a simple battery replacement. If I had known earlier, I would’ve towed my car elsewhere. This is not the level of service I expect from AAA. I wouldn’t recommend this shop.

Fantastic experience: We had a vehicle breakdown on us in MD. as we were in route from NC to NJ to celebrate Christmas with family. This AAA service center was phenomenal and saved our Christmas! They had our vehicle diagnosed and fixed within a few hours. Scott at the front and Tyler the mechanic are Simply amazing !!

Negative experience: HORRIBLE!!! Zero or negative stars rating if that was an option. Save yourself some trouble and go elsewhere. I came in for a pre-purchase inspection. I told the desk representative that I had a concern about surface rust on parts and fasteners under the hood and other places underneath. At the conclusion, the rep told me all looked good. I asked again about the rust issue and requested that the mechanic explain why totally rusted bolts and parts would “pass” and be “all good.” The rep went to the back to ask the mechanic, to which the reply was the mechanic refused to come out and explain or address my question. The rep said the mechanic was a “young kid” and may not felt comfortable speaking to a customer and that AAA liked for the communication to be through the rep. I asked again that the rep and the mechanic one out together to have the conversation. Again they refused. The rep offered and did come outside to the vehicle and saw the rusted bolts and parts. Not being a mechanic, he was unsure if it was fine. Further, because the car passed Maryland inspection that the issue was probably fine. I replied, if Maryland inspection is what they are basing their assessment of the car being “all good,” why have me waste time with the AAA inspection? Further, I told the rep my concern at the beginning and he stated the mechanic would take a look. This service center failed in the areas of customer service and perhaps technical proficiency. The mechanic was allowed to disregard a customer’s concerns and was rude and flippant about it. The customer service representative even communicated the mechanic’s dismissiveness in a rude manner. My concerns about a vehicle that I intended to purchase but brought in for a pre purchase inspection was not clearly addressed. I wasted time and was belittled by the representative and dismissively disrespected by the mechanic. The representative was so rude that the other front desk employees were taken aback. I am totally dissatisfied and will let my entire circle of friends, family, business associates, and community members know about the poor service and disrespectful customer service. After the horrible experience with this center I will never visit any AAA again and I am considering canceling my membership.

Negative experience: BLUF: Ideally would give 0 stars. Received no customer service. Took my business to the Crofton location and was serviced immediately. Unfortunately, this will be my first 1-star review, which echoes the sentiments of poor to non-existent customer service that others have already mentioned. We visited this location on a Saturday afternoon to get international driving permits and upon entering we were immediately prompted to sit in the waiting area. Fair enough given that the there was someone in front of us. We spent approximately 30 minutes waiting and not a single person came to work with us. During that span of time several representatives walked past us in the waiting area without acknowledging us. We could see several families and individuals coming into the store, walk up to the front desk and instead of being directed to the waiting area like us, were immediately catered to. There were several times were there were no other guests in the store and we were still not helped. The front desk seemed to be busy talking amongst themselves or browsing on the computers. We eventually walked out the front door and not a single worker even bothered to look up. Ended up driving to the Crofton location where we were serviced immediately upon entering. You'll spend less time driving to another location than waiting here.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. Made an appointment for a state inspection at 1:30pm. I arrived at 12:15pm, went to Anthony Watkins to check me in for my appointment. He tells me the state inspector has left early for the day and will not return until Tuesday morning. Anthony, sits down in his seat in front of his computer to proceed to do whatever else he was doing. I asked him what I should do at this point since I drove from New York City for this appointment. He plainly told me to check other AAA sites for availability and continues to do whatever he was doing on his computer. I asked AGAIN for help, and he said he will give me the phone numbers to other AAA sites so I can check if they have availability. The two numbers he gave me were generic AAA numbers that lead me back to the main number. I tell him this and he says “I think you press 4”. I asked him his name and left. Disgusting customer service. I am embarrassed of this site as a loyal customer of AAA for years but will be cancelling my membership because of this. Don’t waste your time coming here. There are other AAA sites in that area, avoid this one at all cost

Negative experience: The person who helped me get an international driving permit was great. However, if you sign up for a credit card because of the benefits beware that you won't be able to use your temporary card like the person signing you up says. The bank customer service and account protection will say they can't help you and basically hang up on you. Once you get your card and activate it they will make you jump through hoops for no specific reason to be able to use the card. I don't know what they get out of it. If you don't comply to their sketchy demands they will automatically cancel your card within 30 days. It is not worth your time or energy or credit score.

Negative experience: Not very friendly.. that was my experience, didn’t have a lot of patience and very short. Directly to the point, & He doesn’t make you feel comfortable to ask questions if you don’t understand or didn’t understand what was going on.

Fantastic experience: I have to go with 5 stars. Made an online appointment on a Saturday evening for 930 AM the following Monday to have a battery installed in our Titan.The system worked perfectly. I arrived around 910. Left the car and key with the Service agent and walked around the Town Center. Came back around 10 AM and shortly after the job was complete. Great Battery, 710 CCA with a 3 year free replacement warranty. I received the AAA discounted member price as well as Free Installation. Very happy with the service. Plus I picked up a map for a future vacation to Cape May. Today I just made another appointment to have a battery put in our Camry on next Monday. Very pleased.

Positive experience: Tele Representatives are very kind but could be a little more clear in the mileage bonuses offered during registering as if I known it was only 5 free miles out of my 100mile package only at a one time basis and not every tow. I might have saved the $$ but it’s just good to know I suppose with all that’s happened with my vehicle the last year they’re available.

Negative experience: In 2022 AAA replaced my valve cover gasket. Jan 2024 my vehicle had a oil leak, valve cover gasket, really. I explained to the dealer there was no way, this was done in 2022 by AAA. I insisted to see the leak. Well yes, not only was it leaking but AAA did a very poor job. silicone was also found around the gasket. I had to pay to have this fixed again. I will not be returning to AAA for anything.

Negative experience: What a Joke!! You would think you could trust the name right? Nope! I needed my New to MD inspection on my 2019 SUV They failed me for 2 things which is understandable I had a plug in my tire and left front bushing was cracked. I said ok I’ll have my Brother ( certified Auto Tech 34 yrs ) at a dealer fix those 2 things. $600 later I go back only to have them fail me and insist I need an alignment. I asked for them to cross “rotate” the fronts and drive it again. They still gave me a hard time and then proceeded to add on another issue that between the first inspection I drove over 1k miles and would have to pay the full inspection price again. I took my car out of there! A terrible experience. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING!! I left, and my car passed inspection at another Auto Inspection with flying colors!!

Negative experience: I wish I could give zero stars, with the exception of William at the front desk every person I spoke with at this location treated us poorly. Our vehicle was towed to this facility by AAA, I chose it because it was a AAA facility and closest to where we broke down on the highway 5 hours from home while headed out on vacation. When we arrived at the facility William took good care of us, as it was a Saturday afternoon I really didn't expect them to be able to fix the vehicle that afternoon but William said they might be able to as it was just the alternator that went bad on us. So we walked up the road to get a bite to eat with high hopes we could get back on the road quickly. Unfortunately that was not to be, William called and let me know that they could not obtain an alternator till Monday morning, so we found a hotel and checked in. On Sunday we rented a car and drove to Williamsburg, about 3 hours away, with the intention of me coming back up to pickup the car when it was done. Unfortunately, that was not to be either, I received an email from them with a diagnostic report, I had already told them it was the alternator, I've been a mechanic for 40 years and had replaced the alternator in this vehicle 5 or 6 years ago, the job took me 45 minutes in my driveway. They were recommending brake fluid flushes and power steering fluid flushes in addition to the battery being weak (duh) and the alternator not charging. So, I called in and wound up talking to Stefan, he was a real jerk to me, tried telling me what a big job this is and that they had to pull the AC compressor out to do the job which required it to be vacuumed out and then refilled, I told him that was not necessary and all they had to do is take out 3 bolts from the AC compressor and push it back to allow the alternator to slide out. He just argued with me and said, that's not the way my tech wants to do it. I said I don't care how your tech wants to do it that's the proper way, he didn't care and proceeded to quote me almost $1800 to replace an alternator. I told him to hold off as I was going to try to make other arrangements, he got madder and told me he was just going to throw the car back into the lot. He told me I don't understand that their labor rates are higher than where I come from, I laughed and told him I am from CT where nothing is inexpensive. I called the Kia dealer up the street, they quoted me $1000, $587 of which was the factory alternator (Advanced Auto has them for $187 but the dealer always uses factory parts when they can). I authorized the repair as I didn't want to have to get it into the Advanced Auto parking lot and do the job right on the side of their building. Stay far away from this place, how could they try to charge me more than $800 more than the Kia dealer? We all know dealers are ALWAYS more expensive. The only reason I can surmise is they thought I was ignorant of what it takes to do this job and they thought they could take advantage of me because I was 5 hours from my home. Totally unprofessional and not trustworthy at all. Take it from me, I've been turning wrenches longer than those people have been alive. Do better and stop being crooks Annapolis AAA.

Negative experience: Showed up for my scheduled re-inspection service only to find out the one inspector had left. No call, text or email from staff to cancel my appointment. Manager would not give me a refund even though they couldn't complete the service within the 30 day timeframe. On top of that, I brought them new wheels and tires to put on my car and their "technician" said they wouldn't fit the vehicle. I went home and had to put them on myself no issue. The level of incompetence and lack of customer service at this place is unacceptable. Don't bring your car here!

Negative experience: STAY AWAY FROM DOING AUTO REPAIRS HERE Their mechanic's either don't know what they're doing or they're lying to make money. Went there for an oil change, was told I needed to replace the oil pan at a cost of $800. What they didn't know, my dad is a master mechanic that was visiting from out of state. The only thing that needed to be replaced was an $11 drain plug. LOST MY TRUST WITH AAA!

Negative experience: Dropped my car off because I was noticing a burning smell. They told me my valve cover gasket needed to be replaced and I was smelling burning oil on my engine. I picked my car up after they replaced the valve cover gasket, and immediately noticed that same terrible smell. Popped my hood and my engine was still covered in oil. Smoking. Gave it back to them and they said they would clean it and run the engine to burn the rest of the oil off. I picked my car up today and sadly, my car still smells awful, and I still see oil on my engine. They made it seem like they were doing me a favor for cleaning off my engine, and talked about how certain parts of the engine were hard to access. I paid almost $400 for them to repair my car and they couldn't be bothered to clean the leaked oil off my engine when they had it taken apart the first time. If I wanted to drive around and inhale smoke I wouldn't have gone to a mechanic at all, would I? I will never bring my car to them again.

Negative experience: Customer service is terrible!!!! We bought travel insurance through AAA. It was always so easy and convenient when we paid the money. But when we wanted to get the claim, their attitude changed. The front desk girl was mean and nasty to me. I think she's a little racist cause I am Asian. She thought she could treat me like a piece of garbage. I wanted to talk to the agent who we bought insurance from. That agent said I needed to register first at front desk. When I went back to front desk, the girl didn't want to register me at all, she had an attitude and said" the agent is busy, she is on the phone." They tried to avoid me, they're not helpful. Basically we bought insurance from them, and we need to email someone else if we want to file claim. This claim has lasted for 1 year, but still was not solved(that was why we went to the shop at the first place). Why is it so easy to get money from customer, but when it is time to pay customer it is so difficult. If you sell insurance for other company to customer, you should assist the customer to get the claim, not try to avoid the customer, not do anything.

Negative experience: Awful Experience!!! I wanted to get my wheel bearing checked out when my car started making a strange sound/vibration. I called Friday AM and was told the first available appointment they had was Monday at 10. No problem I will take it. When I bring my car in Monday everyone acts like they have no idea why I’m there. After describing my wheel issue to them again they ask if I am going to wait or drop it off. I ask how long it might take and was told 1.5-2 hours (12pm). I decided to leave and come back when work was done. No word by 230 so when I call they tell me my car is in the bay being worked on. Call back at 430 and they tell me they already talked to my wife about it and the work won’t happen until tomorrow. I told them to forget it and I was coming to get my car. When I get there it’s still parked in the spot I left it in. I asked the Asst service manager Arvin what it means to him if I have a 10:00 appointment and all he wants to do is tell me how he’s not responsible for his staff’s complete lack of professionalism. Thanks! I’ve been a AAA member myself for years and my family has used AAA my entire life. I will be cancelling my membership and won’t use a AAA service center if it’s the last service center for 100 miles.

Negative experience: Arvin Wiley was so rude and nasty to me. I couldn’t even finish making an appointment. I was being kind and having a bad day but he was treating me like I had done something to inconvenience him. He answered the phone and was being kind to them .. but didn’t say excuse me to me but wanted me to whisper the answers to his questions on the phone. I felt so upset I had to just leave. Talking to people like they’re beneath you and only showing respect to some customers not all ? Not cool. The other man who greeted me was very kind although I didn’t get his name. Arvin needs customer service training or to not interact with customers.

Fantastic experience: I was in a tight spot needing a Saftey inspection on a fleet car. They saved my life! They have big enough bays for light trucks (Dodge promaster 3500) and the place customer service is incredible. Tee is the man. Great place. I won't go anywhere else now for my fleet vehicles.

The manager of retail sales made everything happen so we could get those Euros, including helping us after the usual Saturday retail sales closure. Negative experience: HORRIBLE SERVICE. My car was towed in after overheating. After 24 hours the vehicle was still not complete to change a radiator, so I threatened to come get the car and take it somewhere else as I was specific on when I needed the car back. When I finally go to pick the car up (after hours) the check engine light was flashing and the motor had no power. Long story short- They told me that the engine was inoperable and needed heavy repair. So I took the car down to midas and they fixed the issue in a matter of hours. After presenting notes from midas and the receipt Brian the manager said that he would have his boss call me. I have yet to hear from them! GO TO MIDAS

Negative experience: Clearly didn't properly check my coolant system after being paid to ensure that the work they did was done correctly. Car was returned to me without even having the coolant topped off. They claimed that only happened after testing etc due to air but part of flushing the system after doing repairs is ensuring that those air bubbles are bled out properly to test in proper conditions. When you pick up a car from 1000 in repairs it shouldn't still be showing the same warnings unless the problem wasn't completely fixed.

They fixed me up in under an hour and I was able to make the 4 hr drive safely and comfortably. Thanks so much for the wonderful service to this out of towner trying to get back to his family.

Negative experience: R Brown did trip tick but did not save it, therefore I could not print it. Drove to Annapolis after calling to see if I could get it there, when I arrived they informed me they would need to prepare a new one. Another hour at Annapolis not to mention the 45 miles driving to get there. Very poor experience for someone who has been a member for 31 years.

Positive experience: They seem like a generally honest repair facility. The only down point was that an oil change, tire rebalance and rotation took 2 hours even when I had an appointment.

Negative experience: This shop diagnosed a steering problem and claimed battery dead. $3000 later after initial estimate of around $1200 the shop now says it was anther part they did not replace. The battery they said was no good was turned into Walmart only to find that the battery was fine and had a 25% charge on it. Now they want another $500 to fix steering. Inept at a minimum, rip off is more like it. Buyer Beware.

Fantastic experience: I ordered new tires over the phone hassle-free.They were delivered and installed the next day. They also tested and replaced my battery and checked my alignment. Everyone I dealt with was professional and courteous. Nell was my service advisor and was very helpful and professional from the time I first spoke with her on the phone until the next day when I left with my new tires. It is rare to get such good service these days. Will be back!

Negative experience: I recently had a set of new tires delivered to AAA Mid-Atlantic Car Care and was very unhappy with the customer service experience.  They broke off a wheel bolt, which in and of itself is an inconvenience, but like any reasonable person, I understand that not every job goes the way one would like.  Ordinarily that would've been fine and the end of it, but the reason I am very unhappy was instead how the error was handled afterward.  The service rep working that day told me multiple different, inconsistent and completely unhelpful stories and was utterly incapable of resolving what should've been a minor issue in any satisfactory way. First, he said that, because I brought him a new set of replacement bolts that I happened to already own (in an attempt to quickly help them resolve the issue and make them not have to go source new bolts themselves), that clearly it was *my* fault that they broke off a bolt.  Yes, dear reader, if you are as confused by this logic as I am, fear not, you're not alone.  This is like saying that if they totaled my car while in their possession, it would be solely my fault because my wife owns a second car. Next, he said they would not assist me at all in getting a short term overnight rental car while my car was stuck in their shop. Then, the following day he called back and said that the only way to fix the broken bolt stuck in the rotor would be to replace the entire rotor and hub assembly for $1500+.  At this point I said no thank, please just put the wheels back on over the broken bolt and I'll fix it on my own. Incredibly, they broke off two additional bolts while reinstalling the wheels.  That takes real skill. I then drove a mile across town missing three bolts and had my mechanic tap the broken bolts out in 45 minutes at minimal cost. Again, we all understand that unforeseen issues arise during any job, but the measure of customer service and professionalism is not whether or not one ever has complications, but how are they dealt with afterwards.  I would be unable to give even a minimal passing score on their customer service experience, with all demerits earned on a total lack of consistent communication.  I would not recommend this repair shop for any of the car care needs.

Negative experience: I was lied to about the price of my part and was told I couldn't bring my own brand new part to be service. I was over charged by $100.00. I am very dissappointed with the salesperson her name was Nell at the Annapolis location. Other then this time I have enjoyed their work and customer service .I will not send or tell anyone this aaa location is good anymore the salesperson Nell she suck at her job.

The reason I’m writing this review is because they dropped a new battery in even though it was 10 minutes before they closed. As usual thanks for saving us!

Negative experience: Unfriendly and unhelpful management. Rude. Doesn’t allow disposal of used oil.

Fantastic experience: Greely promptly and in a friendly manner. Great place for car service, trip planning and insurance sales.

Positive experience: I dropped in on a Sunday morning without an appointment to get a tire patched after running over a screw, on my trip down from Rochester New York. Despite being unable to patch it because their machine was broken, they were very helpful trying to find someone that could. I am sure had the machine been working, they would have fit me in quickly and patched me up.

Fantastic experience: Friendly and helpful. Pricey yes, but I'd rather pay a little extra to get it done right! Car riding well now.

Fantastic experience: This post is long overdue but I need to share what a wonderful experience I had at this AAA. I worked with Kennard to transfer my vehicle registration from CA to MD and I could not be happier with how the process went. He was polite, caring, patient, and diligent. He really went above and beyond and made me feel very valued as a customer and lucky to be a AAA member. I highly recommend to anyone that does not have AAA, to get it and to use the Annapolis Auto Car Care Center for all of their vehicle repairs and state requirements. Thanks again, Kennard!

Fantastic experience: Had an exceptionally stressful day when my tire blew out while I was 2 hours from home. Everyone at this location was super helpful and kind. Not a single bad moment except for the fact that they didn't have my tires in stock. Not their fault at all. They even helped me get a lyft to a local shop to get my new tires. They got me towed over and new tires put on. They were honestly phenomenal. Couldn't give 6 stars but would if I could.

Negative experience: Sorry. Not the place for me. Again you have to be able to do labor for some people I just wanted an oil change but you didn't have the oil I wanted, so I provide the oil and filter. I wanted to pay the whole price which is what should have happened, instead they said they won't do it no matter how much money I give them... so yeah. It's little things like that that stop me from supporting them. They didn't know I'm also in the market for four new tires. Any money they were worried about losing on an oil change with my oil, they would have made tenfold on four new tires.LOL

Negative experience: My daughter made an appointment. They called and changed it twice. She brought her car in for a new battery and a new ignition switch. When she got there they thought it was for an oil change. Had a 8:00 appointment. She called at 10:00. Hadnt looked at it yet. About 12:00 they said that they did not have her battery which was for a ford focus and the guy that could give ignition switch estimate wasnt there till next day and they couldnt get the part the day she was there anyway. Total waste of time. Just use triple aaa when you need a tow. Annapolis Car Care Center does not have their act together. I use Goodyear in Bowie for 20 years now. Never had a problem. Highly recommend Goodyear in Bowie.

Negative experience: They did not correctly change my oil on 3 occasions. Then offered me a free oil change as compensation.

Fantastic experience: Rodney is fantastic. We have used this location for years. We appreciate his great customer service. Watched him handle a tough phone call today. You could tell the person on the other line was giving him the blues. He handled it. Never got upset in the face of the customers right in front of him.
