Negative experience: They wouldn't come because they wouldn't answer the phone. I'm in Vestavia AL, the non- person "virtual assistant" kept calling Vestavia "Octia, Connecticut." I kept saying "VESTAVIA". They hung up and wouldn't answer when I tried to call back. 5 p.m. on a busy highway, keys locked in car.
Negative experience: NO SUPPORT FOR ELDERLY SENIOR MEMBERS. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. NO CALL BACKS. Based in Denver, CO, I am visiting my mother, age 87, this week at her new senior independent living facility in Homewood, Ala. I have tried over two days to no avail phoning three state AAA offices --Oxford/Anniston (her former residence), Birmingham, and Montgomery--for assistance helping my elderly mother. Over the past year or so, the St. Louis, Mo. corporate AAA headquarters office essentially flooded my mom with new monthly paper documentation demanding that she convert her 6-month payment cycle to monthly auto payments, and then abruptly cancelled her AAA insurance and app login. My mother had paid her 6-month premiums via the AAA app and mailed checks to cover the premium increases. She received no acknowledgement or human follow up. Yesterday and today, I've left voice messages requesting a conference call with me and my mom with the three AAA state offices to discuss and straighten out her paperwork and to reinstate her AAA auto membership with "Amanda" and another manager in Oxford/Anniston AAA office and also twice with Tom Culliver at the AAA Birmingham office. I did speak with a Birmingham agent who was unable to answer policy questions but quick to push selling the auto insurance. Amanda returned my call yesterday leaving a voice message (I am remote working and was on a client call), so I quickly called and left an "urgent" voice message around 1 pm yesterday---and have yet to receive a return call to date today. I have yet to receive a response from the other Oxford manager (forgot his name) and Tom Culliver to date either today. I phoned Tom Culliver twice today to no avail. I was also put on extended hold today with his Birmingham office and hung up after 15 minutes, since I am remote working. My elderly mother had an assigned human agent when living in Oxford/Anniston who previously assisted her. To her knowledge, no one from that office had assigned a new human agent replacement. No human from that office reached out to her EVER. Why is this happening? Why is it so difficult to get a knowledgeable AAA agent or regional manager to take and return my calls to assist my elderly mother's case?! Why are the elderly like my mother being overlooked and neglected by AAA?
Fantastic experience: AAA technicians Ryan and Brennan were on time, professional and extremely helpful taking care of a battery problem for me.
Fantastic experience: I have used to travel service at AAA ‘s Hoover, Alabama office for years . Carolyn Garner is the agent that I always use. She is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and always helpful. On numerous occasions, she has saved me money with good suggestions. I would highly recommend her.
Fantastic experience: AAA sent "Ryan" to replace my car battery on 11/12 and I was very impressed. He was on time, very professional and very knowledgeable. I sincerely appreciate AAA sending such a reliable and competent employee to help with my car.
Negative experience: Had to drive a friend to hotel b/c AAA never showed up. We waited a couple of hours for an unlock, then even the next day took several hours for a 1 minute total job to unlock his car. If you want to be stranded, get their service.
Negative experience: Three hours waiting with a dead battery. The excuse given was the service AAA uses is "very busy". Too cheap is more like it. If the company they use doesn't see AAA as a priority and their customers go to the end of the line, what does that say about AAA? It's become a bigger scam than anyone else, using prior competence to lull people into believing they still operate honestly. Guess what? They don't

Fantastic experience: The guy who came out to help is Andy but he goes by Charlie at work! Maybe the other way around I don’t remember. He was so helpful! He said the bumper on my car was going to come off, i said “i bet it dont” bc all the while i was waiting on him i was trying to tell the neighbors how to help and they wouldnt listen most likely bc i am a female… what do i know? Anywho, i told him to jack my car up so i can get out of the driveway i was stuck in And he actually listened to me and it worked… best of all, i still have my bumper attached!!! Im just so glad he listened to me after nobody else would and he was able to help! He really went above and beyond… give that man a raise!!!
Negative experience: Finding our trip and getting a room and flight booked was easy and our agent Stacey Ginger did great finding everything. We agreed on the down payment amount and the remainder being paid later and I wrote down the amounts. I gave my card information and it was booked. My agent called me the next day to talk insurance and to let me know the trip was paid “IN FULL”?!! I questioned it and said that I was told I was paying the down payment. She immediately started telling me that we could get a rebate for paying in full brushing off the huge mistake she had made. She figured out the rebate amount and sent it in an email as if $300 after our trip would fix the $3000+ extra she just took from my account without authorization to do so. Luckily I had just gotten paid and we will make it but that is a HUGE ISSUE!!!
Fantastic experience: I always shop at AAA before booking any of my trips to see who has the better deal. This company is a lot more than just road side service.

Negative experience: TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH BATTERY SERVICE!!! I have always had a good experience with AAA/United Towing, but today was terrible. I have a Honda Civic that I purchased a brand new battery for it last year. It would not crank this morning and I called AAA. I have a warranty on the battery and when he jumped started the vehicle it cranked, but would not crank once you turned off the vehicle. So the warranty should apply. The technician said I should take the battery to Auto Zone to see if it needs charging. THEN WHY PURCHASE A BATTERY FROM UNITED TOWING I SHOULD HAVE JUST WENT TO AUTO ZONE IN THE BEGINNING. A second technician came out and got it to start and let it run for approximately 20 minutes and it's still dragging. My DAUGHTER is driving back to Auburn and I don't want her STRANDED. AAA stated they should change the battery but United Towing still is refusing. I have AAA in 8 of our vehicles because they were a trusted company but like the technician stated take it to AUTO ZONE FOR CHARGING!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Negative experience: This office apparently doesn't get that AAA is supposed to be about member service since two sequential calls to resulted in one "pick-up hang-up" answer and one non-answer, without an option to leave vm msg.
Negative experience: Trash…..all of them. The customer service….trash, Management..trash. United Towing/ Auto Care…. Trash. Spent money on membership and battery (turn out it was faulty) only to find out the dont honor their battery warranty. Left us stranded in the middle of the night.
Negative experience: I’m so disappointed in AAA. I recently bought a membership because I have a newborn and wanted to feel safe wherever we were. Today my car broke down and all I got was an automated call. When I called the actual wrecker, almost two hours after calling Aaa Because no one showed up, they said they didn’t have anyone needing “towing” it was just a battery check and they also had the wrong address. Luckily I was close to my daughters daycare and was able to walk her there so she was at least safe from the traffic. While I called my own towing company to come help. I’m so upset.
Negative experience: Awful service I would not recommend. Waited 3 hours one day after my provider was changed three times. Now today my car has been towed and dispatch doesn’t have a clue who did it. Service here sucks!!

Positive experience: We have been triple A members for about 25 years. We have experienced and would consider their service and assistance in need and in time.
Negative experience: I started at 7:05 am to get my car towed with two flat tires. It is now almost 2 pm (7 hours) and my car has still not been towed. For over 17 years I have been a paying member of AAA. I had "upgraded" even to a higher service. Seems what I was paying for meant nothing. They were definitely not there when I needed them.

Fantastic experience: Just got serviced for a flat tire. Technician Shane Hoeffler did a great job. Arrived promptly and pumped up the tire and patched it. Saved me a trip to a tire shop. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: I have been waiting on AAA for 5 hours in Atlanta with a flat tire. . They never came !!! A guy came over to help my daughter change it. We pay for the premier service too.! We had a baby with us !! No excuses why they didn’t come. I wouldn’t even give them 1 star. Terrible Terrible service.
Negative experience: I had a vehicle issue in Nashville last month and called AAA. They told me it would be a three hour wait for a tow truck. I called and got a truck on my own. I cancelled this AAA membership.

Negative experience: I have bought 2 brand new battery’s from tripple aaa this year. They put both battery’s in both of my vehicles. The battery’s stay dead. I took both of my vehicles to the dealership to get them check out for alternator or starter and to make sure everything is okay. We’ll like the dealership told me it’s there cheap battery’s. With in a week of buying a battery it was dead. I have called and complained to there customer service and now they just put me on hold. I asked for corporate or a manager to call and nothing in the past month. I would never buy another battery with this company and be treated like all they care about is ripping people off. I had to buy a jump box that costed me 169.00 so I can jump both cars off every morning and I have to get a friend at work to jump me off so I can get hm. This is completely unexplainable. Now this morning I have to go spend another close to 400 dollars to buy two new battery’s because of y’all’s lack of service.

Negative experience: We have had AAA Roadside for 30 years. Fortunately we have not needed towing but a few times Tonight & about 4 years ago, we needed towing. No one showed up to tow & no "progress calls" were made to us. We will be cancelling!

Negative experience: I tried to create my account on virtual AAA I’m very frustrated. I could not get it done after 3 hours. I am a premier member and have been for years. I tried to call Birmingham office in hopes of talking with a human. No luck because the main office has gone virtual as well. There doesn’t seem to be a site where I can create a password. It just asks for password. I would love some help with this. I have accounts and passwords with other places so I’m stymied. Thanks for you’re help. AAA HAS BEEN A LIFE saverfor us over the years.

Negative experience: My truck broke down and I have aaarv pluse, I call them and go through there procedures and I tell them I I'm towing a small utility trailer and they say it's not covered and ill have to get another wrecker to tow it because its not covered. I been paying for aaa rv plus for 8 years thinking I had all the bases covered, I haven't ever used it to be told it's not covered when a rollback can carry both at the same time to the same place. It's not a rv trailer, Skidoo, boat, 4wheeler, motorcycle ect. Well I was going to pickup a 4wheeler but the truck broke down. The wreaker driver charged me 3 dollar a mile to tow it behind the rollback thats towing my truck. I'm not a happen camper but now you know.

Positive experience: I accomplished what I needed to get done there but it was tough going at first. I found the receptionist a bit unfriendly. She didn't seem to be too knowledgeable in her job but I maybe wrong. After that, we were able to get what we came for, i.e., road maps.

Positive experience: I was with this company for about 39 years and I was switched to the Alabama office but didn't receive renewal notice on time and it was cancelled. I had locked my keys in my car and called for service for help only to find out about it being cancelled. I ask if I could reinstate it and was told that I had to pay my membership dues along with an extra $75.00 to get my keys out on the same day. Now this upset me as I was with this company for over half of my life. Is it just Alabama or what ? I had most of my service in Orlando,FL. AAA Al has left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Fantastic experience: This was a great visit as I was changing my insurance provider. The service was cordial and on point. Everyone was friendly and quite knowledgeable. I left there feeling as if I was enlightened. I would refer this company to anyone, even a kid with a play car. Lol.

Negative experience: AAA's "Legendary Service" but they have an "Approved Auto Repair Program" where the program is biased for the auto shops, when they choose to rip you off. The man supervising the Approved Auto program on the phone with me tells me they've done business with Hendrick in Hoover for over 17 years, but... They have NOT been in Hoover for 17 years. Much less than that. It took two weeks to get in touch with him Furthermore I had a question about what my coverage covers on my AAA Auto Insurance. Nobody could answer for about a week. They kept telling me "Well file a claim and find out." Uh, you're not supposed to have to file a claim to ask your agent what is covered....on the phone, that is.... Couldn't get straight answers. As it turns out, AAA insurance really doesn't cover glass repair. It's considered comprehensive deductible, unlike every other insurance company I have ever had. As a member of AAA, seeing others waiting hours for assistance, not even being able to make a simple phone call to sort things out..... Honestly I'm not getting what I paid for. I will soon be taking my AAA Insurance and roadside coverage elsewhere, soon as I decide who to go to. AAA clearly does not have its member interest at heart, when they wouldn't even review documentation with the auto repair program....

Negative experience: We waited for close to four hours on side of road for service. We were in a heavenly populated area and talked to AAA 3 different times with no success. We were promised 2 times we would be called back but that did not happen. Our son drove for an hour to help. Our first call to AAA was around 3:30 pm and we finally got text that service would arrive at 6:45 pm. Needless to say I will not renew my membership!! Horrible, horrible experience.
Negative experience: My truck broke down. Tires rims were stolen. Talked to a AAA manager, she told me they don't TOW vehicles with wheels. So, I went to " pull a part" gathered wheels and tires mind you, were cheaper than calling another co. to have vehicle towed

Fantastic experience: I joined AAA because of the travel agency end of it although there are some nice benefits as far as automobile assistance as well. I found the agents to be very helpful and friendly.

Fantastic experience: 2 friends and I took the Senior Safe Driving all day class. Third time in 9 years. The class and instructor are very good. I always learn something new. Videos are good, discussion interesting. I get a discount on my insurance good for 3 years

Fantastic experience: I love AAA my whole family has AAA
Negative experience: We signed up for AAA thinking they would be the best roadside assistance company. They are not. My husband had a dead battery in 17 degree weather late at night in front of a closed store. They told him 45- 60 minutes ....then 20-30 minutes later, the tech called to say they were busy and it would be at least another hour. And I repeat...it was 17 degrees. He had to walk to a Walmart, buy and install his own battery. AAA does NOT have adequate contractors to get you help quickly, even if you live in a metropolitan area with locksmiths/tow trucks every where. We regret signing up with them. If you catch them at a "busy" time, they are not equipped to help you or smart enough to get the appropriate amount of contractors to handle their calls. You are better off handling it yourself. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Fantastic experience: Always get good deals here, as well as great auto car services like towing. We only buy our movie tickets here never at the theatre..unless it's bargain matinee. They are undergoing renovations last time I was in (a week ago).
